  1. The Printed Parts Spectacular! The rise of 3D printing has been a boon to Bionicle fans. It might have some other uses, but it's been revolutionary for bringing masks, weapons, and other cool parts to life. You want some accessories straight out of the MNOLG? How about movie accurate limbs? I bet you'd be down for a replica of a prototype mask... And while you could display these fan creations on their own, there's plenty of fun to be had using them in MOCs. Just ask anyone who's built a MOC with printed parts! In fact, I'll make it super easy to do that. Our mission this month is to highlight 3D-printed parts and the MOCs using them. This isn't a contest, but a showcase. Post your MOC(s) that have 3D-printed parts in this topic! It doesn't matter how old they are. If you posted a topic for it, go ahead and link it; there's no revival for anything shared in this showcase. We're on a mission to look at the cool things you're doing or have already done, and no way are you getting punished for being ahead of the curve. For extra motivation, one lucky participant will get a $25 USD Shapeways gift card! They'll be chosen at random, and it's one entry per person posting MOCs. You can post as many as you like, you just get the one shot at the card. "But Tufi!" you say. "By giving out a gift card to people who already own 3D-printed pieces, you aren't increasing the number of people who can participate in this area of fandom!" You're right, of course. That's why we're running a raffle for another $25 USD Shapeways gift card, free for anyone to enter! Posting runs from now until Saturday, December 31st at 11:59 PM Eastern. Now let's see some MOCs!
  2. Official BBC Contest #80 Results! 1. Woomy World with The Withered Beast (9 votes) 2. ~Legoman~ with Vigorous Deconstruction (5 votes) 3. Margit with Washed Ashore (3 votes). Another cycle has come and gone, with beauty to be found in all stages. We got to go back to Brickfair Virginia this time, though, so that's gotta be an improvement. Congratulations to our winners, thanks to everyone who voted both on BZPower and at Brickfair, and we'll see you next time!
  3. BZPower Poll! BBC Contest #80: Death and Rebirth! This is it... it's the BZP side of voting for BBC Contest #80: Death and Rebirth! Final Voting begins August 6th and ends August 7th at 11:59 P.M. EST. The contest winner and final voting results will be posted in a separate thread on August 9th. --------------------------------------------------------- BZP Rules and Guidelines --------------------------------------------------------- 1. >>> The Withered Beast 2. >>> Washed Ashore 3. >>> Vigorous Deconstruction
  4. Yes: in order to be eligible for voting for these specific contests, your entry needs to get to Brickfair Virginia somehow. Whether that's by sending it to Black Six, giving it to someone else who's attending, or by bringing it yourself is up to you. Entries not at Brickfair by the time specified will not be eligible for voting.
  5. Official BBC Contest #80: Death and Rebirth! The Brickfair contest has returned! For years, we've held a BBC contest during the summer where the entries are put on display at Brickfair Virginia, and voting takes place both on BZP and in-person at the convention. We've held off for the last two years, but we're back! We take cues from each Brickfair's theme for the contest theme. This year, it's construction. Very appropriate, nice choice. We're not playing it straight. This time, your mission is to build something in a state of deconstruction or decay. Show me something that's seen better days. Embrace that extant form of life. And once you've built your entry? Get It to Brickfair! Whether you're sending it in, letting it hitch a ride with a friend, or bringing it yourself, you have from now until Friday, August 5th at 10 A.M. Eastern to get it to Brickfair for voting. That's right: you've got over twice the time as usual to build and enter. For bonus points, register your entry on our convention circuit! By points, I mean things like free sets. That's basically a prize just for showing up. You'll need to do that separately, but you'll find all the information you need in this topic. But why wait? Let's get busy dying! ------------------------- You have from now until Friday, August 5th at 10:00 A.M. Eastern to submit your entries. Submit your entry by Friday, July 29 to have a custom MOC card made for your entry! To submit your entries, just use this handy form. Only one entry per person, please. ------------------------- Voting: Final Voting begins August 6th and ends August 7th at 11:59 P.M. Eastern. The contest winner and final voting results will be posted in a separate thread on August 9th. ------------------------- Rules: 1) Entries may not have been posted on BZPower prior to the start of the contest. It can be posted anywhere else before the contest, but it must never have been seen before on BZPower. Once entered, entries cannot be modified: you're committed to what you've entered. If you withdraw your entry, you cannot enter again that contest. If your entry is disqualified, you cannot enter again that contest. 2) Painted parts, non-LEGO parts, and parts edited in Photoshop are not permitted and will disqualify you. All other LEGO pieces are permitted, but the entry must be at least 75% Bionicle/Hero Factory/Technic. 3) Keep it clean, keep it civil. No flaming, no whining. Unsporting conduct will just get you disqualified. 4) Campaigning for votes (mass-PMing, etc), using multiple accounts to skew voting, and sundry other methods of cheating are only going to end in tears for you. Trust us: we'll know when you're doing it. --------------------------------------- Prizes: Watch this space! --------------------------------------- Contest Hosts: Tufi Piyufi Black Six Well, what are you waiting for? Get building!
