1. Wow. WOOW. It sure has been a while. Haven't been on the boards in months. I guess I stopped coming here after my interest in Bionicle waned. So. Hi! How's everyone doing? What have I missed?
2. HIGH FIVE FOR RISE AGAINST! Wait, the band Rise Against or some organization called Rise Against?

3. Qwerty's secret to enjoying games: DON'T FOLLOW THE HYPE! It's that simple! Everyone considered Fable and Fable 2 to be huge disappointments because they were following the hype! Peter Molyneux saying the game will do this and that, and when the game didn't live up to the astronomical hype, they got all angry! Obviously do your research on whether a game is actually good or not, but one of the reasons people are saying Fable 2 wasn't good is because of all the hype that surrounded it's release. The hype has one purpose: get people excited about the game, and get them to buy it (okay, maybe 2 purposes). Now, look at me. I didn't follow any of the hype over Fable 2, and when I bought it, I loved it! Still do, it's been one of my most played games, and one of the most returned to (after Halo 3). I enjoy it not as an action RPG where your actions have far reaching consequences, but as a fun world where you actually feel immersed. I can spend hours playing the game, even long after finishing it, just watching the social interactions. Just try it, as an experiment, next time you hear about a game. Don't follow the hype. Consciously avoid anything to do with the game until it's released. Read an unbiased review that reviews the game on what it IS, not on what it COULD/SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Rent/buy it, depending on your reaction to the review you read. Give your game experience a rating of 1-5 stars. Now, go to amazon or somewhere, and look at the reviews. Compare those reviews to your score. Chances are, you enjoyed the game more than they did. Just try it, especially with a game that seems to be having a huge amount of hype surrounding it's release.
4. I gots me one of those new unibody MacBooks. I sold my older one, and with some money I had could afford a new computer. It's a 2GHz, 160 GB, 2 GB RAM, $1299 MacBook. It's so much more awesome. Great graphics chip (NVidia GeForce 9400M), and an overall wickedly awesome look. However, the screen is high-gloss. Much glossier than my other computer. This screen's a freaking mirror. It basically renders it useless in high-light locations. Tis still a great computer, though.
5. I accidentally my whole hard drive. Help?
6. I just got a PSP today, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good games? Any must-haves? Thanks!
7. A nickel is 5 pennies a quarter is 5 nickels a quarter is 25 pennies, and a hundred dollar bill is 400 quarters. This means a penny is 1/10000 of 100 dollars. ... ..... ....... i like cake.
8. holycrudihavefullreponxboxlive.
9. Well, we opened presents from relatives tonight. I open one up, and it was? A Nancy Drew book. Total "what the heck?" reaction. My mom suggested opening it, and stuck inside the cover was an iTunes gift card. I have to say, it was an ingenious idea on the part of my uncle. What did you get for christmas/whatever holiday you celebrate? Any funny stories like this? Do tell!
10. Everyone have a great holiday no matter what you celebrate, wether it be Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other winter holiday! Hope you all have fun, and a great winter break!
11. My Mac crashes. And I dual-boot XP under Boot Camp.
12. NO, that would never work, holding up a sign! Seriously, that idea is totally for the win. I'll go make signs like that now!
13. It would stay a funny, witty comment if you just had some way of showing it's sarcasm without actually saying the meaning. Then people just treat it like someone's saying it out loud.
14. I think we've all experienced it: You say something intended to be sarcastic and funny, and the other person takes it the wrong way and attacks you, or no-one gets it. There is no efficient way to show sarcasm on the internet. That is what I plan to change, with your help! Post ideas to show sarcasm correctly on the internet, and put this in your signature to spread the word: Join Qwerty's Campaign for Easy Sarcasm on the Internet (QCfESotI)! (of course, feel free to change the text if you want) my idea to show it is to put percent signs (%) around sarcastic phrases, but I don't know how efficient that would be. Give suggestions, and we'll decide on an idea and spread the word!
