  1. What about the silver Miru can't be Rua? Rua is silver and Miru-shaped. When it's a plastic lego piece, how much closer can you get?
  2. The organic components of the Toa Mata deteriorated inside the canisters and they had to reassemble their mechanical parts. It did not change their appearance. They did not add or change any parts. They just fell apart and put themselves back together.
  3. I enjoy the theory as a story point, but I never pictured Helryx with an Inika build, mostly because at the time it was being used a lot on everything and I wanted her to be unique. I also had a build of my own that, though I never had the right pieces in the right colours to build helryx, I liked to use whenever I'd build a Toa.
  4. Exactly, so why should it bother anyone. If it has no meaning or effect to you, then it shouldn't bother you. let the people who are excited for little bits have their fun and it doesn't need to effect you. Even if it was important things, Greg isn't some absent-minded nitwit saying "meh okay" to whatever. He is asked a question, he thinks about it and he answers it. He may not be getting paid to write Bionicle stories any more, but he still cares about it. People might be asking questions illy-milly, but Greg doesn't answer carelessly.
  5. If you don't like something Greg has canonized, ignore it. Nothing that has been canonized recently has had a major effect on the story that was told. Just read it like you did before and let the rest of us enjoy our tidbits. The old story is over and there are no plans to continue it, so getting little bits from Greg is all we have. Why would you want to snuff out the last ember?
  6. I definitely read it somewhere before BS01 but I can't remember where.
  7. "Omega Tahu" came about from the crossover of Bionicle fans and Pokemon fans who are excited for Omega Rubay and Alpha Sapphire. Omega Tahu and Alpha Gali.
  8. I'm content with "New Toa" until at least January when we have a better idea what the story will be and whether a team name fits the style of the new universe.
  9. Actually, it is. I'm sure it was confirmed at the panel and the backstory video on the Facebook page is the final indicator. By every indication, it seems to be, and it probably is, and I'l be happy either way but until I see a quote from the new story team that says, "Yes, for sure the continuity has bee wiped clean and the old story doesn't count at all," there are plenty of ways that the story could be conceivably linked back if they wanted to. It's fiction, and Bionicle is about as far as any story can stretch your suspension of disbeleif. Anything from alternate universes, to it's-a-thousand-years-later-and-their-memories-got-erased-again to they-already-know-each-other-and-have-been-on-adventures-before-but-we-aren't-going-to-mention-those could be ways to link the old story to the new. I wouldn't close the door on any such posibilities yet. That said, between the elaborate new back story and the Toa's new characterization and the totally new story team who may or may not have done their homework on all the details, a complete reboot from scratch would probably be cleaner and less of a headache.
  10. It's still not defiitely absolutely a reboot, but at least there is some actual evidence now. The way their bios are written, the Toa seem not to have broad elemental powers so much as they have specific and limited element-based superpowers. No mention of their mask powers?
  11. Pridak was described in the books as having been an example of physical perfection. When he mutated, he was horrified at how ugly he had become. I would not say it is likely his shark head is prety much the same as his proper head. Personally I've always preferred the Witch Doctor head as something that had the same sense of malice, but that isn't horribly deformed.
  12. I once made a black and silver Keetongu without having to use any of Keetongu's own parts. I also made a green Botar as a moc of Botar's replacement, but for that I really did just build Botar and then replace his blue, red and gold parts with green and silver.
  13. It doesn't mean it's not canon, it just means that his unique Hau finally has an explaination- that he elected to have it molded into the noble shape, like how Norik's Pehuki looks like a noble Kiril.
  14. Information on how canon the Stars are is muddy and contradicts itself several times over and we and BS01 all seam to collectively refuse to try to make any sense of it. The aggregate understanding I can garner is that yes, Tahu's adaptive armour still functions as he wears the golden armour over top of it. The red and orange armour parts which get replaced by the gold armour on his set must have just folded away, though he may have replaced his mask. And if anyone tries to tell you that the Stars set looks different from the 2001 set, just plug your ears and go "LALALALALALALALALALALA"
  15. In this version, the gears don't do anything, but I am working on a version 2 with a more elaborate torso. Currently, the torso is Ben 10 armour and body, which, if you haven't seen it, is kindof like a larger version of the Hero Factory 2010 body. As for the red pins, I know tey come in black, and if I were to do a version completely by my own rules, I'd use them, but I want it to look like a set that could really have come out in 2008 or 2009 when the character was first seen in person, and they switched black pins for red in 2007. There are no Bohrok feet on Lego Digital Designer, so in the Version 2 I'm working on has replaced the mata feet on his heels with Throwbot feet, which seems to look pretty good so far.
  16. I like the implication that Lhikan's Hau has been the noble shape all along. Otherwise we have no canon noble Hau part, but an extra, superfluous great Hau mold for no reason.
  17. That map isn't the whole planet. It hopefully crashed out of the way somewhere. Of to the southeast I bet.
  18. I'm almost very happy about this. I have always used this as the basis for what a non-movie Turaga Lhikan would look like, but I wouldn't have liked to take it exactly. I wuold rather it be given a right hand, a better head, and some better feet before being canon. But I do like that this supports my headcanon that Lhikan's Hau is in the shae of a noble hau, rather than just a random unique shape. Then again, do we really need to take a "meh" from Greg as gospel?
  19. In the case of the red and blue pins and the pistons on his legs, I was trying to make him look like a real set. That said, I didn't exactly stick to my guns the whole way through, mixing old balljoint/toa hand things with Hero Factory parts for a character who appeared in person in 2008/09. If I was to do a version 2 I would go to one extreme or the other, either making it more rigidly a plausible set from 2008 with the new (awful, fragile) ball joints and no pieces from after 2008 (other than unique, important things like the mask) or else the oppisote extreme where I just do whatever I want regardless. A few years ago, I drew Karzahni based on Brutaka's build, and ever since then, Artakha in my mind has looked very Axonnlike. For the feet, I might in retrospect prefer a smaller foot part in place of the Mata foot on his heel. Having short toes and a long heel makes him look like he has backwards feet, but I don't want to flip thm around and give him long toes. If I replace the mata foot with something smaller like a bohrok's foot or a Throwbot foot, then his entire foot structure will look more like a tree trunk or elephant's foot, which I would like. As for the gold, I can certainly do that to show you what it would look like. I bet it would look nice, but until anything is confirmed about the new mask of creation and what it means for Artakha, I've stuck to my own vision of him from 2009, which is all sand green and smooth. Thanks, everybody!
  20. Although there's no confirmation that the new Mask of Creation is necessarily any relation to the Artakha's established mask, it's good enough for me to use Breeze's helmet as a MOC facsimile. And now that the scarcity of Sand Green pieces is no match for my having finally figured how to make parts on Lego Digital Designer be whatever colour I want, I present, Artakha: In space with his hammer: Without his hammer: Close up of the foot for detail: The Hand of Artakha: (get it?) A gear on his back, like he likes all his Toa to have: BRICKSHELF GALLERY (when public)
  21. Is it 100kb per image or total for the whole post? I can't tell from the wording of the rules.
  22. If they are embedded urls and not uploaded directly, do I even have to worry about the file size at all? Only the dimensons would matter if someone else is hosting the image, right?
