  1. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-Nui: Exiting sleep mode. Processing conversation logs from previous 5 minutes. Processing complete. Multiple angles of approach are available. Analyzing current situation for best action. Analysis complete. After taking a look at the events that were happening at Kini-Nui, The now-awakened mechanical enforcer placed its metal hands upon its allies and said, “Teleport.” Space shifted around the trio for a moment until the area around them was replaced by the Taku’s cargo hold. The machine looked around the room for Skyra before venturing deeper into the ship’s hold, gesturing for its allies to follow. “Ally Vashni, there was previous mention of Barraki Ehlek,” said the machine. “Please elaborate.” OOC: @Tarn@Snelly@Kal the Guardian@Vezok's Friend@BULiK@Unreliable Narrator IC Ysocla - Exterior of Irnakk's Tooth: Ysocla rode hard and fast around the volcano towards what must have been one of the zivon she had created. The mental connection suddenly became filled with so much pain that the engineer had to stop moving to recover. That turned out to be a good idea as the ground immediately rumbled from the force of yet another eruption from the nearby peak. Ysocla squinted through the clouds of ash and smoke to get a better view of the emerging twin dragons. One predominately, one partially red, both clearly hated one another. Her heart realized their former identities shortly before her brain did, but she was still not prepared for the new knowledge. Part of her immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was Zataka’s doing, that the titan had somehow surprised the others and cast them into the pit. It was a sad idea, but a calming one. The rational side of her swiftly took over and presented a far more probable scenario. Despite the heat from the volcano, a chill ran through her spine as she watched her former friends claw at each other in the sky. Turning her bike around, she began riding back towards the Panda. Ysocla had not grown up a sailor, she was more a mechanic by trade, but you didn’t need to spend much time to learn the vocabulary appropriate for this sort of situation. Ysocla swore. An increasingly vulgar string of obscenities fell from her mouth as she rode onwards. OOC: @EmperorWhenua
  2. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Taku Exterior and Kini-Nui: Loading Kini-Nui.jpg Recording Taku.jpg for future reference. Preparations complete. The mechanical enforcer placed a hand on its psionic ally’s arm. Grip secured, it spoke the command word. “Teleport.” As had earlier been the case with Skyra, the ground beneath the duo’s feet shifted beneath their stationary forms. The cold iron grip of the robotic NUVA kept the duo connected for the instant that was required. Before any of the sudden sensations had time to take root, they had arrived. Due to the machine not having time to actually visit Kini-Koro itself, the duo instead found themselves near the center of the temple of Kini-Nui. Despite the late hour the temple was abundant with activity. In the center area two beings conversed: one a tall shadowy creature, the other a matoran that seemed to be having trouble existing. In the distance one of the NUVA bunkers had been recently opened, with one figure entering while some sort of corpse watched. Next to the newly arrived duo was a camouflaged lesterin crouching in the grass. “Greetings citizen,” said the machine to the lesterin before looking around for any sign of Jutori. 3. IC Ysocla - Outside of Irnakk's Tooth: For whatever reason, the journey out of Irnakk’s Tooth seemed to take far longer than the trip down. It might have been the heat, or the exhaustion from combat, but even with Ysocla’s urgency she could feel far too much time pass. The rumbling of the volcano continued to increase, the tremors beneath her feet and crutch becoming more intense. Desperation drove her onwards while the back of her mind hoped the others were still alright. After what felt like a month, natural light entered her vision. Ysocla couldn’t tell if it was sunlight or moonlight, but what mattered was that the literal light at the end of the tunnel was visible once more. The thrill she felt inside at this discovery took its toll on her motor skills; the determined stride she had been utilizing almost immediately devolved into fast-paced stumbling as she exited the tunnel. A sudden onset of natural blinded her momentarily, but her eyes quickly adjusted to reveal the Panda still where they had parked it. One of her crewmates who was watching the entrance perked upon noticing her approach, giving a wave a holler. Ysocla weakly returned the gesture as she climbed aboard. “Yso! You’re a sight for sore eyes,” said the crewmate, helping her up. “We had half a mind you all had perished when the volcano erupted.” “Fat chance. It’ll take more than that t- wait, the volcano erupted? When?” “Uh, let’s see here, couple days ago, give or take? Few hours after you guys went in. What happened in there?” “A few days?!” she sputtered. “We were just a few hours, not even a full day. I was running to get out before the volcano erupted, and now you tell me that already happened?” “Twice now, actually. There was the rumbling for a larger third one, but there wasn’t an actual eruption that time.” Ysocla stared intensely at the crew for a moment before grabbing some water from the supplies and gulping it down eagerly. Wiping her lips off, she began to explain what happened in the tunnels: the nightmares the group had experienced, the confrontation with the Mesi, the disposal of the bodies and unintended rituals that were activated. The crew explained that they had witnessed a Tahtorak and Zivon emerging from the volcano before wandering off. All were silent for a moment before Ysocla broke the silence again. “Alright, based on what you’ve told me, we have confirmation on two of the riteborn and possible knowledge about two more, leaving one last Zivon unaccounted for. Once Lady Yumiwak and the others come back, we can form a plan to track them down.” An angry primal roar rang out from the other side of the volcano. “Does anyone know what that was?” “No clue. There’s been some commotion from that area recently, but none of us really wanted to go examine it.” The engineer turned her head towards the sound, trying to hear more. Instead, she felt something in the back of her mind. An unknown force in her head drew her towards that location. Something connected to her was there, but she couldn’t tell what. A plan began to form in her head. “Get my bike ready,” she ordered, moving below decks. With practiced hands she activated the Panda’s flying engine. After climbing back up she found Justice ready to roll down the boarding ramp. “I’m going to go investigate that noise. I’ve turned on the flight engine, so once Lady Yumiwak returns you can come pick me up. Do not leave until she returns. If I’m back before she is, something has gone terribly wrong.” Straddling her vehicle and revving the engine, Ysocla rode off towards the mysterious sounds. OOC: @Tarn@EmperorWhenua IC Kilo-M9 NUVA- Taku Exterior: Landing gear repairs have been completed. Current task: bring Ally Skyra to water temple for NUVA transformation. NUVA transformation will also create NUVA Proxima. Calculating ideal candidates for NUVA Proxima transformation. Ideal candidate found: Ally Jutori. Last known location of Ally Jutori: Kini-Koro. With the Taku’s new landing gear looking absolutely pristine, the automaton wandered back to the assembled group on the boarding ramp. “Landing gear repairs have been completed,” it announced. “This unit has calculated that Ally Jutori is an optimal choice for NUVA Proxima. Ally Skyra, this unit will be traveling to Kini-Koro shortly to retrieve him before traveling to the water temple. Please prepare for the trip. Ally Vashni, this unit expects Ally Jutori to be resistant to the proposal. With your ability to connect with others the chances of Ally Jutori accepting will increase. Would you be willing to accompany this unit on this task? You can be returned to the Taku afterwards if needed.” OOC: @Snelly@Tarn
  4. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - The Taku - Exterior: “Affirmative,” said the machine as it grabbed the landing gear components and headed for the exit. As it prepared to walk down the boarding ramp it was greeted by a large crowd of individuals standing around talking. From the traffic jam the mechanical enforcer could recognize a few of the faces besides Skyra. “Greetings allies Nale and Vashni.” Rather than attempt to push past the crowd, the robotic NUVA instead clambered onto the side of the ship and began to descend. There would be time for talking after the landing gear had been installed. Witnessing the exterior of the ship made it clear just how much of a beating had occurred. Multiple oversized claw marks were present as well as several dents. It would take several applications of the great disc to fix all of it. The machine did not feel boredom however; it couldn’t feel anything to begin with. As the final rear landing gear was replaced, the machine looked out as the last light of day vanished over the horizon. The Mata Nui head has sunk since most recent observation. Triangulating this unit’s relative position... OOC : @BULiK@Tarn@Snelly
  5. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - The Taku - Cargo Bay: “This unit can assist with repairs,” said the machine. Retrieving disk 279 from storage. Walking over to where the matoran and vortixx were working on the cargo bay doors, the mechanical enforcer tapped the great disk against the ship’s frame. Power surged from the disc, washing over the region around the impact. Where the energy touched, metal that had snapped off reappeared, gashes mended themselves, and imperfections from impact were removed. As the light dissipated the area around the cargo bay doors looked brand new with no trace of the prior battle. “Please direct this unit to where else the disc should be applied. This unit can also assist with carrying heavy objects.” OOC: @Snelly@Tarn@BULiK@Daniel the Finlander
  6. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - West of Kini-Nui: As Skyra began to concentrate, Patiwairutiki took a more stable kneeling position on the ground. This unit will return soon. Do not wander off. I can’t promise that. If there are riteborn, I will kill them. Acknowledged. The cockpit hatch opened up as the mechanical enforcer took hold of its co-pilot’s hand. Locking its gaze on Skyra, the machine spoke the words, “Power transfer: Hiko.” The mask adorning its face emitted a soft glow as Skyra felt a strange power filling her being. As she concentrated on the cargo hold of the Taku, the location seemed ever so closer in distance. Soon, she felt like she could get there with only a hop, a skip, and a jump. Mentally taking that leap, the world shifted around the pair as Skyra would feel a lurch in her stomach, like going over a hill on a roller coaster. Instantly they were gone without a trace. The world shifted beneath their stationary bodies in but a moment. As reality settled back into place, the pair could see that they were indeed in the cargo bay of the Taku. Besides a brief flash and the ship shifting beneath the sudden additional weight, it was as if they had always been there. The machine took a look around, noting where changes had been made to the ship’s interior since its last visit. OOC: I'm not sure who's in the cargo bay specifically, so I'll just tag people I know that are in or near the Taku so they can notice the new arrivals if they want. @BULiK@Tarn@Snelly@Onaku@Toru Nui@Daniel the Finlander and also @~Xemnas~ cause we just left Atamai.
  7. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Somewhere west of Kini-Nui: Unnatural weather patterns are ceasing. Target is deceased. Task complete. Any additional thoughts were interrupted by Skyra and Atamai’s words. Ally Skyra proven to be a willing ally in battle. This unit could count on her assistance for dealing with future riteborn attacks. Only one great disc is currently accounted for. Getting maximum usage from its regenerative powers is advised. Patiwairutiki cleaned the blood from it’s claymore before turning to face Atamai’s mech. “Ally Skyra has stated a desire to acquire NUVA powers to increase our available mechs. This unit can assist with that task. Before that this unit will contact the Taku and assist with repairs. “Investigation of missing terrain is also advised,” the mechanical pilot added, gesturing with its arm towards the space around the pair of mechs. It appeared that during their battle with the tahtorak large patches of land had vanished, seemingly replaced with water. “Target tahtorak did not cause this change in terrain,” the machine observed. “There is a non-zero possibility that citizens in Kini-Koro have also noticed and may have additional information. This unit recommends asking around.” Inside the Kaita ACR, the mechanical enforcer turned to its co-pilot. “In addition to assisting with repairs, informing the Taku of Ally Skyra’s survival is also a task that should be completed. Ally Skyra, please mentally picture a section of the Taku’s interior. This unit would advise the cargo bay. Other rooms will work if the mental image is clear enough.” OOC: @~Xemnas~@Snelly
  8. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - west of Kini-Nui: A pair of hunters closed in on their fallen prey. Wading through the increasingly muddy ground, the two titans stalked towards the once mighty creature, now laid low by injuries and restraints. For all the might it brought to bear, in that moment the creature was suffering. The beast cried out in pain and fear, but it would find no sympathy nearby. Whether deadened by the horrors of war, ripped away by forces beyond their control, or never there to begin with, the trio that controlled Nektann’s fate could feel nothing. Rahi Hunting Procedure Step 13: If termination of the target becomes a necessity, finish it off quickly so as to not prolong its suffering. Application of random beam cannot be controlled to guarantee immediate death. Removal of head will be quicker and more efficient. Patiwairutiki does not currently possess a weapon suitable for beheading. Ally Atamai does. Observation: Ally Atamai has not killed before. While removal of emotions during Ally Atamai’s NUVA transformation will make convincing him to kill easier, Ally Atamai may no longer be able to properly process the act of killing. Future mental health may be affected. Conclusion: This unit will handle the situation. Swapping to Claymore. The Kaita ACR continuing its path towards the creature’s neck as the lance launcher was replaced by an enormous blade. While the mechanical pilot within figured that Skyra had heard its thought process, it took the time to vocalize it anyway. “While usage of the random beam may result in more visually interesting effects, prolonging the suffering of the target is unnecessary,” the mechanical enforcer explained. “Perhaps next time such an experiment can be performed.” The machine spoke next through the mouth of the mech it was driving. “Ally Atamai, this unit will finish off the target. Stand by in case the target retaliates.” Carefully stepping towards the creature, wary of potential blasts of water, the construct raised the mighty blade over its head. With one final look at Nektann, only to ensure its aim was true, Patiwairutiki brought the blade down at the tahtorak’s neck. OOC: @~Xemnas~@Snelly@Eyru
  9. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - West of kini-nui: This new pilot has good ideas. She is a fine addition to the crew. Regardless of your preferences, attacking the target in such a way will require more resilient restraints. The target’s current attempts to flee are enabling the current attack pattern with little resistance. If the target resumes combat rather than escape, control of the situation will no longer be possible. Patiwairutiki unleashed another barrage on the tahtorak, unleashing coils of material to attempt to keep its limbs occupied. Within the cockpit, the machine turned to Skyra. “Such an attack would likely kill the target. Additional restraints will be needed to prevent evasion and counterattacks,” it explained. “Coordinating with allies may be required.” Outside, the mechanical enforcer’s voice boomed from the mouth of the kaita ACR toward its sibling mech. “Ally Atamai, the target will require more durable restraints to ensure a successful decisive blow. This unit calculates that your kanohi or elemental abilities may be sufficient.” OOC: @Snelly@~Xemnas~@Eyru
  10. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Area West of Kini-Nui: Registering Skyra Daring as Ally. The Riteborn is escaping! Target will not get far. Swapping to lance launcher. The mighty war club vanished from Patiwairutiki’s hands, soon replaced by a fearsome projectile weapon. The kaita ACR marched after the storm that surrounded its prey. Ally Skyra appears proficient with projectile weapons. That will prove useful. “Ally Skyra, this unit will clear the storm,” the mechanical enforcer announced telepathically. “Once a clear visual is present, target the legs. The riteborn must not escape.” The robotic NUVA began to take hold of its control over air, bolstering it with Skyra’s own abilities. Outside, Patiwairutiki took one hand off its launcher and extended it towards the nearby storm. “Storm clearing gale!” The mighty storm suddenly appeared to expand, seeming about to consume everyone nearby, only for the fog and rain to move upwards. Howling winds battered away at the unnatural weather event, dissipating any form of cover the tahtorak generated. With its prey visible once more, Patiwairutiki took hold of the lance launcher with both hands. While the machine within concentrated on keeping the wind going, the next step was up to Skyra. OOC: @Snelly@Eyru@~Xemnas~@BULiK@Tarn and other taku crew.
  11. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - area west of Kini-Nui: As Patiwairutiki jabbed the club at the tahtorak’s side once more, the occupant within noticed the approaching aerial toa. "Yo, you got room for one more in there? I'm not doing much good out here on my own," she said. An additional pilot could prove useful. As long as she does not hold me back from the fight. Ally toa will be loaded quickly. Ally Atamai may require assistance. A mighty hand reached up and pushed Skyra to the back of the Kaita ACR. The hatch opened just long enough for her to be shoved through before closing behind her. The machine-turned pilot gestured to the adjacent seat as Patiwairutiki moved towards the neck of the beast. “Greetings. You may call this unit Citizen Pacification Unit K1R1 Kilo-M9 NUVA. Short form, Kilo. Please identify yourself while you familiarize yourself with the control system. Ally Atamai is preparing to eliminate the target. This unit may need to cover him while the process is completed.” OOC: @~Xemnas~@Snelly@Eyru
  12. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Area west of Kini-Nui: Successful hit confirmed. Preventing falling damage. As the great beast collapsed from the sudden head trauma Patiwairutiki extended an arm below it. With the ground swiftly approaching, the choral voice of the pilot within shouted “Air Brake!” The air around collected together to cushion the Kaita ACR’s fall until it completed a three point landing with an audible, but muted, thump. No structural damage detected. Elemental energy levels are still within usable amounts. Enemy Tahtorak has sustained damage. Naturally. The beast cannot withstand my power. The colossus stood vigilant as the kaiju righted itself and let out its ear splitting roar. No movements were made as water emerged from the ground in front of it, obscuring the titanic beast. Within the mech computational gears whirred in thought. Enemy Tahtorak is able to use water abilities besides passive rain production. Noting new information in profile entry. The riteborn is charging. Even with water blocking my vision I can still sense the vibrations of its steps. The distraction is a more advanced strategy, but otherwise the behavior of the target resembles non-sapient rahi. A charge is natural for a larger creature defending itself. I will meet it head on in battle. Evasive maneuvers. Nektann’s leap forward found nothing but air where Patiwairutiki once stood, the mech having rolled out of the way. Momentum carried the beast forward as the Kaita ACR stopped in a crouching position. A thrust of the war club followed, directed at the kaiju’s left hind leg. It wasn’t a blow designed to cause significant damage besides some mild pain or possible tripping; rather, the main goal was to make contact with the ancient weapon. Data indicates this attack will stun the target. If so, follow-up attacks will be possible. If stun effect does not activate, target will likely respond with a tail attack or additional elemental ability. Preparing to swap weapon. OOC: @Eyru@~Xemnas~@BULiK and other Taku crew IC Ysocla - Irnakk's Tooth: The mechanic stumbled her way back through the tunnels that had so recently been a battleground. While she cursed her seeming cowardice and abandonment of her liege, she also recognized that she really did need a head start to get out of the volcano before it erupted. The sound of her compatriots’ footfalls did not echo through the tunnels behind her. It didn’t take a mastermind to surmise what was holding them up: Yumiwak wanted to summon another very specific kaiju. As she passed the section of floor that had recently spewed magma, her thoughts turned to whether the mountain could survive that many riteborn emerging. She wondered if anyone on the island could survive that many riteborn emerging. OOC: @EmperorWhenua@Tarn@Vezok's Friend
  13. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Somewhere to the west of Kini Nui: As the urgency within the flooding city increased, so too did the pace of Patiwairutiki’s steps. As the mech reached the edge of town and began to ascend the valley wall, the pouring rain above began to dwindle. Glancing up the hill as they ascended, the synced machines observed the clouds beginning to disperse. Rainstorm is disappearing for unknown reasons. Outer edges of storm are vanishing first. New task: follow vanishing storm to target. With Atamai by its side, the two mechs traveled over an unknown number of hills following the dispersing storm until they eventually reached a peak overlooking the eye of the storm. As Atamai swapped weapons to a sword and moved to engage, the two could begin to see the beast that lurked within the clouds, though it seemed to be engaged with something other than them. Enemy tahtorak is engaged with something else. Likely the Taku. They will not last long against the riteborn. Ally Atamai also needs this unit to stun the target. Preparing to engage. The titanic mech took several steps back, keeping the monster in view. Our current position is 666.6 repeating bio above sea level. Such a fall could be dangerous. Irrelevant. The target will break our fall. One step forward, then another. Patiwairutiki sprinted the short distance to the edge of the peak crouching at the edge. Momentum rocked its body forwards as potential energy collected in its knees. It pushed off, launching itself westward into the night sky. With the clouds clearing, the mech was able to make slight adjustments to its trajectory to keep on target. At the apex of its arc the war club was lifted over its head. Gravity took hold once more, pulling the machine once again towards the surface. For some, the sensation of butterflies in one’s stomach would be felt from such a fall. The mechanical enforcer had no ability to feel such things. The only thing to focus on was the task at hand. With mechanically calculated precision, the war club swung down at the head of the tahtorak. OOC: @~Xemnas~@Eyru@Unreliable Narrator and also the various Taku crew. Let the battle be joined!
  14. IC Ysocla - Irnakk's Tooth: Ysocla had been prepared to continue fighting before the leader of the opposing Mesi had issues his challenge. She elected to stay her blade until Lady Yumiwak had responded, though she did not approve of such a challenge. From her perspective this Marrow fellow had the audacity to challenge their group to open combat only to fall back on a traditional duel only after the tides were beginning to turn against him. Such an action seemed less the actions of an honorable person than someone with far too much pride to gracefully accept defeat in a losing situation. Knowing the unmatched pride that her liege possessed, it came as no surprise when Lady Yumiwak accepted such a duel. In the brief conflict that followed, the vo-skakdi took a moment to observe the other assembled Mesi. The one she had been fighting earlier had turned her ear toward the combat in order to better observe the situation. Ysocla wondered what the Mesi was thinking. Lady Yumiwak soon emerged victorious, leaving the other Mesi to be dealt with. Despite how exhausted she was from the journey to Irnakk’s Tooth, the engineer fought hard, finally besting the onu-skakdi from before. As she cast her vanquished foe into the gaping pit of fire below, she stared at where the eyes on the Mesi would have been. Would there have been regret on her face? Continued defiance despite the situation? Had this conflict really been necessary? Yes it was, she thought to herself. At the end of the day, we fired first and pursued them with hostile intentions. The Mesi in turn chose to escalate the conflict by laying fortifications and preparing an ambush. There was nothing you could do otherwise. Despite her attempts at easing her mind, watching the burning bodies below brought a feeling of unease to her spine. As the group took a moment to consider the next action to take, a feeling started to stir in the back of her mind. Get out She couldn’t seem to brush it aside, and it grew more loud and clear. Get out A memory flashed before her eyes of her father berating her yet again. “Yso, if you don’t start shaping up I’ll cast you into Irnakk’s Tooth and turn you into a Zivon!” The feeling started drowning out the memory. Get out “It’s not safe here. We should leave,” she muttered, more to herself than anyone else. No sooner had she spoke those words that the very mountain itself began to rumble. Get out Her eyes widened as she snapped out of her stupor. “We have to go, right now!” she yelled, beginning to move back towards the tunnel that had entered from. OOC: @Vezok's Friend@EmperorWhenua@Tarn@Gecko Greavesy IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-koro bunker: “If additional riteborn are appearing, the current target will be dealt with now. Moving to engage.” Patiwairutiki stepped out of the bunker into the pouring rain, resting the hammer on its shoulder as it headed west through the increasingly drenched Kini-koro. OOC: @~Xemnas~
  15. IC Kilo-M9 - Kini-nui - kaita ACR bunker: No records exist for such a limitation on the Haonga. Updating asset list. New strategies will need to be formed. Putting all roles on Ally Atamai might result in excessive pressure on his mental state. Considering new approaches. Prioritizing efficient usage of all available assets. Deprioritizing quickest route to victory. New strategies formed. Obtaining peer review. “This unit has calculated additional strategies,” the machine said after another moment. “Both strategies begin with this unit surprising the tahtorak with an attack using this hammer. According to Patiwairutiki’s database, this hammer can stun on contact with the tahtorak. Once the target has been stunned, Ally Atamai can follow up with two possible options. Option one is the previously mentioned weakness beam followed by decapitation, this time without increased speed. Option two is to swap out for the lance launcher weapon. While the target is stunned, a barrage of lances can be fired to pin down the target. Once the target is trapped, this unit will continue to attack with the hammer, keeping the target stunned until it has been eliminated.” OOC: @~Xemnas~
  16. IC Kilo-M9 - Kini-nui - kaita ACR bunker: The riteborn is here. The time for battle is now. Negative. Preparations are not yet complete. What preparation is needed? I already possess the power to kill it. You simply need to set me loose. That may be true, but this unit cannot afford to put the matoran at risk. If we strike now, there will be no threat to the builders. I will cut the beast down with my brother’s help. There will be no issues. I don’t understand your reluctance to go forth. I can see into your programming. You need to hunt down the riteborn at all costs, same as me. You are letting your emotions cloud your judgment. Once again someone has programmed an artificial being to have emotions despite it serving no immediately useful purpose. This unit will have to investigate this common design flaw one day. Regardless, you are correct that we have both been programmed to eliminate the riteborn. What you are failing to recognize is the advantages that are gained through teamwork. With the intelligence that this unit’s allies are gathering, a more efficient strategy can be formed. This unit has looked into your programming as well. You also cannot allow the destruction of the builder’s civilization. Surely you realize the positives of waiting for a while longer? ...Very well, I will wait. Only until we know the status of the riteborn. Once we do, I will go forth and fight. That is all this unit asks. Before combat begins, a new weapon is required. The bident that shoots water is unlikely to be useful against a creature that creates rain. As the rain began to fall upon Kini-koro, two titans stood in silence. The sound of raindrops began to echo within the bunker they were standing in. Patiwairutiki finally moved, loosening its grip on the bident it held as the two pronged spear vanished from its grasp. A large heavy war club replaced the previous weapon. The titanic machine began to test the weight of the new armament, a movement driven more by the kaita ACR itself rather than any instruction from its pilot. Eventually, the mechanical enforcer within turned to its fellow NUVA. “Ally Atamai, this unit has potential strategies that might be useful in the upcoming conflict. Based on information within Patiwairutiki’s database, this unit assumes that Ally Atamai's mask of conjuring abilities are now usable by Malkuhuraia. This unit has records of a mask of dimensional travel that could create portals to send objects elsewhere. By giving Malkuhuraia that ability, the tahtorak could be sent elsewhere with little trouble. This unit recommends sending the tahtorak to the space the giant head containing Metru Nui originally fell from. “Strategy two is to give Malkuhuraia increased speed. By going too fast for the tahtorak to react, Ally Atamai could rush in and use a weakness beam to weaken a limb on the creature before cutting it off. This unit recommends the head, though the tail and other limbs are also viable options.” OOC: @~Xemnas~
  17. Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-Nui: Searching database for ‘Tahtorak’ Entry found in Patiwairutiki’s database: Tahtorak are Rite-Born Kaiju. Kaiju must be eliminated. However, proximity to Kini-Koro is concerning. Matoran may be put in danger from immediate confrontation. “Ally Atamai, this unit believes Ally Sidra should be given opportunity to direct the tahtorak away from Kini-Koro before engaging,” the machine explained as it climbed into its kaita ACR. “Once the tahtorak is away from the city, this unit will eliminate it. Assistance will be helpful.” OOC: @~Xemnas~
  18. Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-Nui: “Acknowledged,” the machine responded to its fellow NUVA, parking its own mech in a similar position. Remembering that their powers couldn’t extend outside the cockpits of their respective ACRs, the two allies exited their vehicles and turned to one another. Atamai focused his still-drained abilities, extending his iron element with the mechanical enforcer. Power transfer activated. Iron ability operational. Rerouting elemental energy to new ability. On the shoulder of Patiwairutiki the mechanical enforcer looked down at the shackles near Malhukuraia’s limbs. “Close Shackles,” it said willing the bindings to fuse over the kaita ACR. Turning to Patiwairutiki, it said “Form shackles.” Identical restraints emerged from the floor leaving both titanic mechs bound. With the task complete, both allies turned once more to each other. “This unit should check the status of Allies Jutori, Kat, and Arkius,” the machine said, increasing the volume of its voice to be heard over the winds howling around their elevated perches. “Ally Atamai should also visit.” OOC: @~Xemnas~ IC Ysocla - Irnakk's Tooth: Zataka. Hey, Zataka. Zataka. Can you hear me Zataka? It’s me, Ysocla. The Vo-skakdi had emerged next to the hostile mesi, just as planned. Her blade had found blood, though her now-injured opponent was not quite down for the count. Even as the Onu-mesi was falling over the other two active mesi were combining their powers. She had half a mind to step over her fallen opponent and take her blade to the other two, but there was too much risk of being attacked from behind. Besides, leaving a wounded opponent to bleed out wasn’t honorable at all. Instead, she focused her thoughts into a clear message. Zataka, there’s two mesi currently using their elements. I’m behind the rear barrier near them with a third mesi between them and me. If you can, a well-aimed blast from you should cause them a great deal of trouble. I don’t know if you can see through my eyes or anything, but if you look at the holes you made in the barriers before and aim down and slightly right, you should be able to tag at least one of them. I’ll take care of the third one while you do that. If Korio’s in the way, give him a warning. The mesi of earth was now reeling on the floor, their arms blindly trying to ward off future blows. As she prepared to bring her sword down on the injured mesi, Ysocla pondered to herself about the nature of enhanced senses. She had been told all about Mesi having good hearing, but how did they deal with things that made little noise? The sword came down around the arms of her opponent, aiming lower down her neck. Would they be able to sense this attack coming despite the lack of noise? What other sensations did they feel that would allow them to detect this movement? Or would they just die, flailing in the dark as their life came to an end? Ysocla couldn’t say, but she’d try to give them a swift end nonetheless. 19. Name: Patiwairutiki ACR Faction/Homebase: Builders/Kini-Nui Primary Pilot: Kilo-M9 NUVA Great Disk: Reconstitute at Random Physical Description: Patiwairutiki stands 100ft tall and is primarily black from head to foot. Its limbs are powerful in appearance, though somewhat lithe. The head is similar to that of a maskless toa or matoran in structure, though the presence of six eyes sets it apart. There is a compartment on its back that holds the cockpit of the ACR. Though much of it is mechanical, one can also sense that the ACR is alive in some way. The main pilot seat has adjusted to the needs of its primary pilot, becoming a chair suited for a kralhi’s physiology. Breed Quirks: Piloting is thought based through paranormal means. Due to this pilots can’t use any abilities, breed quirks, or other powers to affect anything outside the walls of the cockpit. Kaita ACRs are super strong and ignore damage from creatures less powerful than kaita. Patiwairutiki’s arm can convert into a gun that shoots beams of reconstitute at random (probably a war crime). Abilities: The kaita ACR can use up to three abilities or breed quirks excluding equipment powers at a time from all onboard pilots (max 3). The powers are increased to the levels of a kaita. The abilities can be swapped out in a post and resets when all pilots fall unconscious, die, or leave the ACR. The cockpit must be fully sealed to work and you can’t use powers from people that are unconscious. Patiwairutiki can pull up to two one-handed or one two-handed weapon from the Suva Kaita as long as it is within two hexes (not counting the one it’s in). Flaws: Imma just head out now: If not restrained Patiwairutiki may wander away trying to find Rite-born to kill. Oi, where you at: The primary pilot is required to be onboard for Patiwairutiki to start. Keep your hands and feet inside the ride: Pilots can’t use powers to affect anything outside the cockpit. Heated Gamer Moment: If the primary pilot falls unconscious or dies the kaita spirit inhabiting Patiwairutiki goes berserk until it’s destroyed or the primary pilot is removed. I’m tired of these monster-sized kaiju on the metru-nui shaped island: Patiwairutiki wants to kill kaiju super dead. Nothing else matters. Don’t step on the Lego bricks: Patiwairutiki cannot condone the destruction of Builder civilization. Mild Kaiju racism: Patiwairutiki won’t ally with riteborn monsters ever. I don’t really see color: When berserk, Patiwairutiki sees other Kaita ACRs as riteborn monsters.
  20. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-Nui - Earth Bunker: Interfacing with Patiwairutiki systems. Calibrating movements. Compensating for increased mass of limbs. Compiling functions. Additional consciousness detected in Patiwairutiki systems. Kaiju slaying objective is in alignment with primary objectives. As the newly awakened Kaita ACR stood out in the open air for the first time in who knows how many years, the smaller pilot machine sat within coming to grips with the new tools at its disposal. Besides the enormous spear that now rested in the giant mech’s hands, there were also numerous tools and weapons residing in the suva kaita somewhere below. Through the viewpoint of Patiwairutiki’s many eyes the mechanical enforcer had a new viewpoint with which to observe the island. From this elevated perspective the head of Mata Nui’s body could be seen along the west coast, though it seemed to have sunk a bit since the metal protector had last laid eyes on it. Regardless, some simple calculations later and the location of Kini-Koro had been determined: they were at around the center of the island. Artificial eyes rotated around, taking stock of the landscape while artificial ears continued to listen in on the conversations below. Disagreement appears to exist between various allies for future plans. Ally Knichou has requested assistance. Ally Knichou has created a small model of Patiwairutiki somehow. Ally Knichou is returning to the Taku. Scanning records for Ally Knichou’s current mask. Legends about the Mask of Creation have been located. Details appear to match Ally Knichou’s abilities. Will need to ask about possible usages later. Ally Atamai is requesting assistance. “Acknowledged,” the machine responded to its longtime ally. “Lead on.” Before leaving, the kaita ACR turned to regard Sidra. “Ally Sidra, at what time tomorrow do you plan to attack the sea?” OOC: @~Xemnas~@Nato the Traveler
  21. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-Nui - Earth Bunker The machine stood still for a moment, gazing up at its much larger counterpart. In a manner of moments the two would be one and the same. Before that could happen, the smaller of the two used a careful application of the weakness discs it carried to shatter the shackles that bound the Kaita ACR. Additional shackles could always be created by Atamai if they proved necessary in the future. For now, the titanic techno-organic creation was free, ready for its chosen pilot to board. The mechanical enforcer obliged, scaling the side of the ACR with purposeful strides. As it reached the cockpit and prepared to take control, it hoped that this mech would have more accommodating seats. OOC: @Eyru Kilo is activating the Kaita ACR
  22. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-Nui - Earth Bunker Performing diagnostics. Remaining energy at critical levels. Activating power saving mode. This unit appears to still be alive. Ally Atamai is still alive. Acquaintance Sidra is still alive. Registering Sidra NUVA as Ally. New task: Investigate newly revealed mech. The drained machine slowly rose up from its awkward seating position. Turning to leave it said to its longtime ally, “Thank you Ally Atamai for your assistance.” The climb down the massive ACR was slow, and the mechanical enforcer definitely slipped and fell part of the way, but eventually it had reached the ground and begun making its way towards the opened bunker. Along the way there was a bunch of commotion about the mysterious golden liquid leaking from the now opened bunker, but the machine paid it no mind besides noting that Stannis and Knichou, the latter wearing a new mask of some sort, had joined Sorilax in collecting the golden liquid. Farther along was Sidra, recovering from the energy drainage she had once again been subjected to. The robot took a moment to regard its fellow NUVA. “This unit greatly appreciates your assistance, Ally Sidra,” it said. “Do know that this unit will ensure that it does not ask you to perform this kind of assistance again in the future.” Continuing onward the machine was enveloped by the mist that filled the bunker, slowly approaching the machine that lay within. 23. IC Kilo-M9 - Kini-Nui - Earth Bunker: Energy reserves dwindling. Current transfer rate is unsustainable. Bunker door requires additional energy. Situation will likely become lethal without additional power source. Acquaintance Sidra is only known source of sufficient power. Logical reasons to assist this unit are insufficient. Emotional plea will be required. Opening communications. The constant stream of howling winds flowing from Malhukuraia’s hand subsided slightly. In addition to slowing down the rate of energy drain the decrease in noise allowed the mechanical enforcer's words to reach Sidra’s ears. “Acquaintance Sidra, this unit requests your assistance,” the machine began. “The bunker door has almost reached capacity with Ally Atamai’s help. At this point the situation is clear: additional energy is required. Acquaintance Sidra is the only available being guaranteed to possess required power. You almost certainly do not wish to share your energy. Know that this unit is well aware that there is no logical reason to lend your aid. “This unit is asking more from you than a stranger would reasonably request. To ask so much only thirteen minutes and twenty seconds after being introduced is generally considered inappropriate. This unit apologizes for that. However, this unit must request your aid regardless. There is a simple reason for this that Acquaintance Sidra can relate to: this unit does not wish to die. This unit understands that Acquaintance Sidra likely does not wish to die either, and that giving energy to the bunker door risks your life. Be reassured, for this unit can tell that internal energy reserves will be drained far before Acquaintance Sidra will be put at risk, so there is no need to worry. “Why help though? Why care for the plight of a stranger? This unit suggests that while personally this unit and Acquaintance Sidra are strangers, fundamentally we are bound together in one way: both of us are NUVA. Regardless of different life paths, the two of us and Ally Atamai are linked by the similar powers received. These mechs are bound by a similar purpose, a purpose that NUVA-empowered individuals have now received. If Acquaintance Sidra has already encountered the kaiju on this island, you already know that these mechs cannot stand alone against them. Teamwork will be required. This unit wants to work together with fellow NUVA. “Perhaps working alone is more familiar to Acquaintance Sidra. This unit felt similarly once. Alone in the archives this unit continued to perform assigned duties despite the rejection of civilization. The situation would have continued perpetually had this unit not encountered Ally Atamai and other allies. There was no reason at the time to assist them with searching for Great Discs. This unit could have apprehended the wayward citizens and continued on. That did not happen. This unit made a choice to assist, because this unit calculated that giving unnecessary aid in the present would result in greater results in the future. Above all performed calculations, this unit had to believe that assisting these strangers would make future situation better. “That is what this unit is asking Acquaintance Sidra to do: to trust that helping someone now will help Acquaintance Sidra in the future. To believe in the benefits of cooperation. To take a chance on teamwork. This unit is asking for your assistance in this current endeavor. Please help.” OOC: @Nato the Traveler@~Xemnas~@Kal the Guardian@Eyru
  24. IC Kilo-M9 NUVA - Kini-Nui - Earth Bunker: Internal energy capacity still at safe levels. No immediate changes in bunker door. Continuing energy transfer. Ally Atamai is assisting with power transfer. Continuing to observe bunker door for any changes. “Thank you for your contribution, Ally Atamai,” the machine said to its fellow mech pilot. “This unit hopes for some observable change soon.” Mechs having three seats implies using three individuals to open door is correct path. Acquaintance Sidra’s assistance would be useful here for learning purposes. This unit cannot obtain Acquaintance Sidra’s assistance with current relationship. At minimum this unit would require any evidence that usage of multiple individuals to open bunker door was a viable option. OOC: @~Xemnas~@Eyru@Kal the Guardian@Nato the Traveler IC Ysocla - Irnakk's Tooth: Ysocla was busy lying on the ground choking on poisonous gas that she didn’t initially notice that a song was mysteriously playing in her head. As she rolled across the tunnel alcove she was lying in it occurred to her that this was likely the work of Lady Yumiwak, a suspicion that was confirmed when the toxic gas didn’t immediately follow her. Using the tunnel wall for leverage the vo-skakdi brought herself back to a standing position, taking some time to lower her visor over her eyes and wipe some of the sweat off her brow. As someone familiar with welding she was all too aware of how exhausting the overwhelming heat could be. This fight had to end soon, but the roar of the lava wall and proximity of the explosion of Korio’s explosive bolt told her all she needed to know about how the battle was actually going. It was time for a more direct approach. She turned to her x-ray vision once more to observe the placements of the enemy mesi. From left to right she could see an earth skakdi and fire skakdi locked in concentration with each other, no doubt the cause of the lava flow. Next to them was an especially pale mesi of some type, though given the vines making up the barriers it was possible that their element was plantlife. The other two were around the tunnel’s corner, still disabled from the lightning Ysocla and Korio had sent out, though there was no way to be sure how long that would last. The mechanically-inclined skakdi drew her sword as she focused her energies. It was suicide to dive into a group of combatants like this, a lesson she had learned all too well when her leg was shattered. In the right circumstance though, it was possible to come out on top, especially with back-up. Once more her body coalesced into a lightning bolt, passing through the barriers and reforming into her body to the right side of the earth skakdi. Her blade was already mid swing as she reappeared, ready to cut down the dark armored mesi. She had to hope that the thunder that echoed from where she had just come from and the residual noise from Korio’s explosive bolt was enough distraction to let her take advantage. 25. IC Kilo-M9 - Kini-nui - Earth Bunker: The mechanical enforcer began to climb up the side of the much-larger robot, eventually reaching the cockpit. “Thank you Ally Atamai,” the machine said looking around for the additional seats. The three seats had likely been designed for bipedal creatures, so the NUVA robot somewhat awkwardly crouched over one of the co-pilot chairs and began to adjust to the controls as the cockpit sealed itself shut once more. Opening Malhukuraia interface. Preparing to transfer power to door. Targeting bunker door. The kaita ACR raised one of its hands to point at the symbol-marked door as the mechanical co-pilot began to focus its power. “Energy transfer, air,” it said as a great beam of elemental energy burst forth from the ACR’s outstretched hand, flowing into the sealed bunker. OOC: @Kal the Guardian@~Xemnas~@Nato the Traveler@Eyru Xemnas, if you want to have Atamai send energy into the door as well feel free.
