  1. Name: Citizen Pacification Unit K1R1 Kilo-M9 Species: Kralhi Faction: Metru-Nui Refugees Brief Description: Kilo-M9 is a standard Kralhi in shape and size, a scorpion-like mechanical creation about the size of three Toa clumped together. It has four legs which are able to grip all manner of surfaces and two arms that are usually holding its tools, two wide curved blades for defending itself and the city’s citizens and for guiding and encouraging wayward Matoran back to their workstations. On its rear there is a prehensile tail with two prongs for emitting energy bubbles. Its forelegs and head are metro green, with the rest of its body and limbs being black for camouflage in its home metro. Both of its front legs have noticeable scars and chipping from lack of maintenance and there is a large running diagonally down its face. Side compartments on the main body contain a store of Kanoka discs. It has green eyes during normal operations but will switch to a red-orange color during combat situations or dim them entirely for stealth. On its face is a permanent expression of determined authority which can come across as more terrifying than intended. The joint where its front left leg meets the body appears newer than the rest of its form, as it was recently repaired in the archives battle against the barraki. A number of new scratches and gouges have appeared since its lonely days in the archives. A rudimentary solar panel, the one item it grabbed during the sudden evacuation of the GSR’s head, is mounted on its back in order to generate power now that the power plant in Metru Nui is inaccessible. Background/Occupation: Kilo-M9 is but one of many Kralhi that were created by Nuparu as a predecessor to the Vahki. This particular unit was assigned to the Onu-Metru region, warding overly curious tourists and archivists away from restricted zones and assisting with the often frequent break-out attempts by the exhibits. Unfortunately, the Kralhi’s method of enforcing order by draining the energy of troublemakers was deemed an issue as the affected individuals were too dizzy or exhausted to work for a while after an encounter with the law. Turage Dume commissioned the Vahki as replacements and ordered the Kralhi’s destruction, but the machines would not go quietly. Many rebelled against their fate and were forced out of the city. Others took up hiding in the various Metru. Kilo-M9 is one such unit. After fighting off several attempts at deactivation by Vahki squads the battered law enforcer took up residence in the deeper sections of the archives. The network of tunnels provided ample space to hide and make repairs. Despite its isolation and betrayal, the unit is still given purpose by the same primary objectives: 1. Preserve this unit at all costs 2. Bring efficiency to the city 3. Protect and serve the Matoran Despite the necessity of staying hidden lest the Vahki resume attacking it, Kilo M9 has mostly resumed its primary duties patrolling the sublevels of the Archives, assisting individuals out of the restricted areas whether they want to or not. Shortly after Turaga Dume’s announcement to search for the great discs, Kilo-M9 encountered a wandering band of disc hunters in the archives. After a brief altercation the machine joined them on their quest, leading it around the city. Eventually the mechanical enforcer found its way back to the archives, where it killed the warlord Mantax and his men with help from other allies. Upon escaping the archives, the end of the universe occurred. Initially, Kilo-M9 ended up residing in the newly created city of Metru-koro. After an adjustment period, Kilo took up a role in patrolling around the city or taking watch on the wall for incoming threats. That lasted until being reunited with its Odd Company companions, along with new additions Zadred and the Collector. Together once more the group embarked on an expedition around the northern coast of the island. They encountered a fortress and the corpses of the once inhabitants before making their way to the Ruins of Stone. After completing the puzzles there and discovering the great discs, the group split up with Kilo in the group that traveled to the constantly under attack village of Po-koro. After a brief confrontation with the Vahki that had arrived there, the group were immediately put to work dealing with a massive flod caused by the tahtorak Nektann. As the rains died down, Atamai returned after his trip to the past with 5 of the 6 great discs in tow. After moving the surviving villagers to the new settlement of Tobduk-koro outside the stone ruins, Kilo ventured in with its companions and witnesses Atamai and Arkius’ transformations into NUVA and NUVA proxima. Reasoning that the NUVA devices may empower the user with the kanoka power of the great disc used and knowing the hooros that the onu-metru great disc can inflict, Kilo along with Jutori, Arkius, and new companion Kat ventured forth in search of the ruins of earth. Flaws: Kralhi are able to analyze opponents and devise plans to deal with them based on their abilities and traits. However, the machines are limited in their ability to think on the fly, and quick improvisation can trip them up. Kilo-M9 is limited by its primary objectives and will follow them at all costs. It will not take violent action against Metru-Nui citizens unless hostile action is taken against it or there are conflicts with objectives 1 and 2. Kilo-M9 also cannot swim and will avoid having to submerge its body whenever possible. Powers: Kralhi have strong mechanical joints making it somewhat stronger than the average Toa. It is able to climbs on walls and cling to ceilings with its clawed feet and can remain still and silent for long periods of time, making it surprisingly good at hiding. It is programmed to be skilled at hand to hand combat with its blades, and while it has primarily fought Rahi it is no stranger to having to engage in battle with the more sentient creatures of Metru-Nui. The robotic nature of its body allows for unnatural limb rotation ranges as well as a resistance or immunity to most abilities that specifically affect minds or organic material due to lacking either of those. Its signature weapon is the energy bubble generator in its tail. The tail launches bolts of energy that when striking a target encases it in a bubble which lifts into the air and begins draining their energy into the Kralhi. Said bubbles can drain energy at a fast enough rate to knock out an unsuspecting Matoran or exhausted Toa within minutes. The bubbles are difficult to break out of from the inside and do not burst upon contact with walls or ceilings. Direct force needs to be applied to escape. Once trapped the karlhi can subtly influence the trajectory of the bubble’s drifting. Kilo-M9 also carries on its person a selection of Kanoka discs, usually 3 weaken discs and 3 regeneration discs of various power levels which it uses against opponents in combat and for field repairs, respectively. It acquires these from individuals it helps and from hunting stray Vahki units that wander into its jurisdiction. Finally, Kilo-M9 features a voice recording functionality which enables it to play back any words or phrases it hears. While it can speak Matoran freely at ultrasonic frequencies much like the Vahki, it usually uses edited and rearranged phrases to communicate with Matoran and other sentient beings. Since increasing its interaction with others the amount of words it has access to has expanded. In addition, its puzzle solving skills have increased since it started its adventures, and it has a low power speed disc with one charge left in its possession. During the evacuation of Metru-nui by the refugees, the kralhi was able to salvage a solar panel and integrate it into its body, enabling operations away from power sources. Newly added to its possessions is a metal box with a lid containing the Ta, Le, and Ga-metru great discs along with a level one regeneration disc. In one of its side compartments is the great disc of One-metru along with another level 1 regeneration kanoka. Kilo is also currently carrying the Spear of Fusion which it retrieved from Arkius during the visit to Po-koro. Kilo patch notes: Updated background with events of SK:R. Added great discs and Spear of fusion to powers and equipment. Added resistance/immunity to organic material/mind affecting powers, which is a logical conclusion to a fully robotic being that is a ruling used before that wasn't explicitly stated in the powers section previously. NUVA profile here Name: Ysocla Naenoic Breed: Zakazian Skakdi of Lightning Faction: Riggers nominally, Yumiwak’s warband in practice Brief Description: Ysocla’s body is primarily a blue-violet color, with reddish purple accents on some of her limb armor. Around her heartlight there is a circle of white lines that glow. Those glowing lines extend from the circle across her body. Two parallel lines extend down her torso to her hips, where the lines become circles wrapping around the top of her legs. From the circles, two parallel lines on either side of her leg reach down to her ankles where they end in another circle. A similar pattern occurs on her arms. On her face, the lines split into four, two running along her cheeks towards her ears, the other two moving past her nose to wrap around her eyes and go farther along her scalp. Tron lines basically. She wears a tinted visor which can be moved over her eyes to protect them while doing everyday work. She also has a full facemask for more intense welding. When not wearing a blacksmith apron she can often be seen wearing a full length duster which helps cover the glowing lines on her body. On her left leg is a metal cast that keeps the shattered limb in place. Around her waist is her trusty tool belt, carrying various screws, nails, and wrenches as well as a hammer and a holster for her welding laser. Her trusty cane-sword is always nearby. She has bright blue eyes and never smiles. Background/Occupation: Ysocla was part of a normal family of skakdi on Zakaz. Her parents were members of the Riggers, and tried to teach her early on the ways of being a pirate. Whether through a sense of decency or a desire to stand out, she struggled with the concepts of living on Zakaz. Vague stories around town mentioned the people that occupied the land before skakdi, a population lead by idealistic heroes with a code of honor. Despite those stories always being told in jest, Ysocla was enraptured by the idea of unselfish people who held themselves to a higher standard of behavior. She soon started trying to live by a code of honor, a move that immediately put her at odds with her family. After her parents perished in a house fire Ysocla was free to live her life her way, though it did leave her without a place to live. Living on the streets she refused to turn to theft, instead taking what odd jobs she could. Those jobs, as well as her prior Riggers training, gave her knowledge and experience to deal with machines of various sorts. During one of those days she found herself in yet another duel in a series of fights. During this one in particular, her opponent had their friends sneak attack her from behind, restraining her while the group shattered her legs in multiple places. They told her that it was a lesson, to start acting like a skakdi. While some would have taken the trauma to heart and changed their ways, the lesson Ysocla took was that skakdi society was irredeemable. The current way of things had to be overthrown. With only one good leg to stand on, there wasn’t much she could do alone. Allies were required. One fateful day while wandering between jobs, Ysocla spied a particular skakdi. This one carried herself with a unique regality, a confidence that few others possessed. Intrigued by her independence, Ysocla trailed the skakdi and her followers as they went about their business. As she was about to approach and engage the skakdi in conversation, she spotted a conspicuous mugger about to make his move. Ysocla loudly put a stop to his ambitions before he could strike, attracting the notice of the mysterious skakdi. Introducing herself as Yumiwak, she explained to Ysocla her history and goals of restoring her clan. Sensing that this skakdi might one day help her change society, Ysocla swore fealty to Yumiwak and requested that she take her on as a member of her crew. A position of engineer was open on the Tactical Panda II, and her mechanical experience made her a natural fit. Since then she has been a member of Yumiwak’s crew. While she sometimes accompanies her liege on missions, her tendency to defend her honor and occasional refusal to complete tasks that conflict with her nature leads to her sometimes being left behind to work on the ship. During one such mission out with her liege they encountered the warlord Zataka. Bringing her aboard as a sort of prisoner the two warlords came to an agreement to work together for the time being. Any further plans were put on hold at the discovery of The Rig’s destruction. While her attachment to the locale had never been great, Ysocla nonetheless swore that if she got the chance to take vengeance upon the creature she would do so. Personality: Ysocla is very serious most of the time. She tries to have a professional air as much as possible, and holds herself to high standards. The code of honor she follows is a personal one, as she knows that others will not change their ways so easily. She will not join fights that would give her side a numerical advantage unless the opponents have shown that they are truly dangerous, she does not use dirty tricks or sneak attacks when fighting. While she has learned the hard way many times that her methods leave her vulnerable she does not stray, refusing to let setbacks ruin her resolve. While she’s still more comfortable with machines than people, as machines are upfront with their intentions, time spent working closer to the crew has led to better working relationships with Korio and Yumiwak. She does not smile. Equipment/Traits: She is adept with machines, her vision power giving her the ability to more easily identify issues. She carries various tools including a larger wrench that can double as a blunt weapon. On her belt is a heatstone-powered welding laser. Variable settings enable it to both weld and act as a laser cutter, and the heat and light make it a decent emergency weapon. Her primary weapon is a sword that she uses as a cane. Her fighting style has been adjusted since her leg was broken. Where once she used quick strikes and a flurry of offense she now uses a more defensive style that requires less movement, waiting for attacks and taking advantage, with the occasional use of her teleport to give her unexpected reach. Primary Power: X-ray vision (to see through the lies of the skakdi. Not actually, it’s just normal x-ray vision) Secondary Power: A short range teleport to an area she can see, her movement path is marked by a brief trail of lightning leading to where she arrives, and a crack of thunder where she previously was. Using this ability drains her elemental reserves, which can lead to her exhausting herself through rapid use. Works similarly to the misty step spell in d&d 5th edition. Breed quirk: Suppressed elemental powers over lightning that must be used in conjunction with another skakdi. Psychological issue they struggle with: Her code of honor leaves her easy to take advantage of, whether goading her into a fight or making her vulnerable to dirty tactics. She puts herself into suboptimal situations through her own stubborn adherence to her code. Physical limitation: Her left leg bones are shattered, and it’s only really movable at the hip. This limits her speed greatly and attacks against her leg result in increased pain. Justice Justice is a motorcycle that Ysocla uses to get around the wasteland, especially after her leg was broken. It’s a standard cruiser style of bike, black in color with white accent lines similar to the ones on Ysocla’s body. On either side of the bike the word “Justice” is printed. Also on the sides as well as on the front the symbol of Yumiwak’s clan is emblazoned so that would-be thieves know who they’re stealing from. A sidecar with a similar appearance can be attached for carrying cargo or if Yumiwak doesn’t feel like walking places. Most others are not allowed to ride in it without permission. Ysocla patch notes: updated bio and personality to reflect changes in SK:R
  2. Not really sure what else to ask. Are there ways to properly open/activate the NUVA mech bunkers besides losing your abilities and dying/reviving?
  3. Hey GMs, quick question since I got page 145: If NUVA is an acronym in-universe, what does it stand for?
  4. OOC: @Tarn@EmperorWhenua@Vezok's Friend@Onaku@The UltimoScorp IC Ysocla - Tactical Panda: Ysocla gazed out over the ruins of her second home, consumed by the very water that had helped drive its growth. She thought back to her first home, of the fire that had consumed both it and her family. Perhaps one day the wind would pick up and the panda would be stricken from the sky by the very air itself. Just as when her first home was destroyed she found herself thinking of those that had touched her life. The kindly mechanics that had taken her in, the thugs that had left her crippled, the detritus that continued to drive her towards justice. How many of them were still alive down there? Would she even be able to reunite with her nemesis and return the injury they had given her ten times over? She had to believe that she would. Just as she did for her first home she swore on those that had perished that she would succeed. She would prove those that doubted her wrong. She would demonstrate that things can be better even if it killed her to do so. Turning her gaze to the horizon, she could see the great head was visible even from here. Surely the people who came from it were better than her fellow skakdi, right? There had to be some people on this rock not consumed by conflict. Zataka was definitely just an outlier in representing these people. She had to believe in the people from the stars. In her mind’s eye she batted away the doubting cynicism brewing beneath her surface thoughts. She’d at least give them a chance. IC Kilo-M9 - Tobduk-koro: “Citizen Pacification Unit K1R1 Kilo-M9. Short form Kilo,” the mechanical guardian stated, nodding in greeting. “Probability is high that there are no other kralhi units active on this island. This unit hopes this alliance will be productive.” The machine climbed aboard the back of the nearby 4-wheeler, ready to once again direct its allies across the desert. “Are present allies prepared to go solve some puzzles?”
  5. IC Kilo-M9 - Tobduk Koro: The machine gave a nod of acknowledgement to Jutori’s words before entering the village forge. Strewn about along the interior walls were various piles of scrap metal. In the center of the forge was a countertop, behind which were more finished pieces ranging from discs to tools and a few basic weapons. In the far corner the one of the forgemasters was hard at work hammering out some material into what looked like the beginning of a sword. The rhythmic clang of metal on metal continued for a few moments until the blacksmith finally took notice of his newest visitors. Setting his work aside and pushing the work goggles up onto the forehead of his hau, the blacksmith made his way to the counter. “Not often I see something like you in this part of the village,” he said to the machine with a gruff tone. “What can I do for you? Spare parts, perhaps?” “This unit requires two discs of identical power and strength,” the mechanical enforcer began. “As well as this,” it added, holding up a squared piece of metal. The blacksmith looked taken aback. “Now look, we’ve barely have the forge up and running as is. Disc production isn’t anywhere near what it could be and supplies are limited. I can’t go handing out of limited resources to anyone who a-“ “This unit is working with toa Jutori and Arkius,” the machine interjected, gesturing to its gravity wielding companion. “Your cooperation will assist them in their mission.” “Oh, well in that case, feel free to take what you need. Anything for the heroes of the village.” Discs and plate in hand, the machine led its toa ally to the edge of the village, where the natural cliff formations resulted in multiple isolated alcoves. It was in one of these alcoves, away from prying eyes, that the machine began to prepare its experiment. Setting down the gathered materials, it took the time to remove the Great Discs from their metal container and analyze the imprinted codes. “Enlarge... regenerate... teleportation... reconstitute at random,” it said, shuffling through the discs in sequence. It placed the Onu-metru great disc in a side compartment on its body before returning the other discs to the metal box Atamai had crafted for them and using the metal plate it had taken as a lid. Drawing forth the Spear from its back, the machine began to explain to its companion, “This is the Spear of Fusion, an artifact stored in the archives. During the invasion this unit and Allies Arkius and Nale secured it from capture. According to recorded legends the Spear is able to fuse and defuse beings. This unit wishes to test whether the Spear has the capability to work on objects as well.” Commencing test 1: usability of Spear by this unit. Spotting an orange lizard investigating the discs laid out on the ground, the machine took aim with the Spear. Activation of tool likely requires mental command. Analyzing possible work arounds... Firing defusion blast. A burst of energy blasted forth from the tip of the Spear enveloping the unsuspecting reptile. As the glow of the energy dissipated, the two allies were able to see that where there had just been a single lizard, there was instead two, one red and one yellow. The red lizard yawned and looked at the other, while the yellow licked its own eyes. Test 1 successful. Beginning test 2: fusion on organic creatures. Firing fusion blast. Once again the energy enveloped the newly created lizards. This time, the energy cleared to reveal the original orange lizard, seemingly unharmed. It scurried away so as not to be used in further testing. Test 2 successful. Beginning test 3: fusion of non-organic objects. The machine took aim at the two level one weakness discs it had taken from the forge. The Spear’s energy blasted forth once more, impacting upon the surface of the circular pieces of metal. This time though, the energy vanished to reveal the two discs, unchanged in nature. A blast of defusion energy burst forth striking one of the discs, to no avail. Finally, the machine let loose at a nearby rock, which was similarly unaffected. Test 3 unsuccessful. “Testing has concluded,” the machine announced to its companion. “Spear appears to only work of living beings. Regardless, this unit is able to use it successfully. This is useful information, though it does close off a potential method of creating future Great Discs.” Approximate Earth Ruins location has been calculated. “This unit has completed likely Earth Ruins location,” it added while retrieving the test discs. Opening the box with the great discs, the machine added one of the test discs to the bottom of the stack before closing it again. “If Ally Jutori has no preparations to complete, heading to the transport is advised.” OOC: @Tarn Kilo is done with everything it needs to do. If Jutori doesn't have anything to deal with we can proceed with meeting Arkius and Kat.
  6. IC Kilo-M9 - Tobduk Koro: “This unit is not programmed to feel surprise. Even if surprise was an available function, this unit would not be feeling it,” the machine responded. Gears in its cranial unit began to whir faster as it began processing more information than normal. “While Ally Jutori and other allies were returning great discs to Turaga Dume, this unit encountered Allies Nale and Arkius defending Onu-metru from the Barraki invasion. During that fight, Ally Arkius displayed violent tendencies outside of previously established behavioral patterns. This unit and Ally Nale were required to restrain Ally Arkius from engaging in self-destructive rampaging murder. “After the impact, Ally Arkius showed signs of improving. Post-NUVA regression seems to have occurred. With current state of Tobduk-koro Ally Arkius may be suggested for leadership position; This unit has overheard conversations among village citizens about that topic. If that situation occurs, racist policies may be enacted. Probability of increased tensions is high.” The pair were close to the forge now. “Ally Arkius may be currently unreliable. Regardless, earth ruins are likely to be underground. Earth elemental powers will improve likelihood of finding ruins. In addition, this unit currently possesses great discs. If this unit does not go with, Ally Arkius will pursue. Dealing with potential conflicts will likely wait until after earth ruins are discovered.” Upon reaching the shop the former law enforcer turned to gaze directly at its toa friend. “This unit must remove Onu-metru great disc and incentive to create it as soon as possible. You are a trustworthy ally, Ally Jutori. Can this unit will count on your assistance to complete this task without issue?” OOC: @Tarn
  7. IC Kilo-M9 - Tobduk Koro: Beginning probable earth ruin location calculations... Retrieving Spear of Fusion experiment materials... Loading constructive confrontation protocols... For several minutes the two protectors walked in silence. Entering the main village area together they began to pass the citizens hard at work. Many of the matoran inhabitants averted their gaze or bristled in fear at the passing automaton. For many years they had toiled away under the watchful police state guarded by the vahki. Such a fear of machines could not be erased by a single night of heroism. Others were more recent visitors to Metru Nui before the calamity; they merely ignored the passing machine, knowing not what to make of the strange quadruped. Everyone they passed brightened their expression at seeing the toa passing by. The machine did not mind such treatment. For a being that had lived in the shadows to avoid certain destruction, this was a marked improvement. A few more moments passed before the pair entered an empty side street. Jutori would be able to recognize that they were heading towards the newly reconstructed forge. It was in this side street that his scorpion-like companion rotated its head a full 360 degrees to check for witnesses before it finally spoke. “Ally Arkius appears to have developed a racist mindset,” the machine began with no hesitation. “In addition, a major personality shift has been observed. This unit has concerns. Ally Jutori, do you agree with this assessment?" OOC: @Tarn
  8. IC Kilo-M9 - Tobduk-koro (outside the Ruins of Stone): The machine paused for a moment after exiting the ruins to observe the sparring action occurring in front of it. Automatons were not prone to such activities. Their combat abilities were based on pre-programmed movements accompanied by an adaptive algorithm to determine responses to enemy actions. Training muscle memory was unnecessary a mechanical brain with the ability to recall information perfectly. The idea of a one on one open duel was also not how machines typically approached combat. Ambushes provided too much of an advantage to make dueling a logically sound option. The fact that what of the combatants was not part of the group that had originally migrated to the new village location was an issue, however. Barely any time had passed and the security of the village had already been breached. The mechanical enforcer would have interrogated the newcomer were it not in such a hurry. Arkius and Jutori soon joined the machine outside the ruins. It turned to them and said, “Ally Arkius, recruit any additional companions and meet this unit at the vehicle shortly. Ally Jutori, please assist this unit in retrieving supplies.” The protodermis protector began to depart towards the main village center before turning back to the pair of toa. “That last statement is not an order,” it clarified before continuing onwards, expecting Jutori to follow. OOC: @The UltimoScorp@Toru Nui@Onaku@Tarn
  9. IC Kilo-M9 - Ruins of Stone: Ally Atamai has returned. Performing post-transformation diagnostic. Notable visual changes: Size increase noted. Muscle strength likely also increased. Primary armor color is now silver. Silver color not normally linked to stone region or element. Silver color likely to be universal result of ruin activation regardless of location. Golden eye color matches color of energy that Ally Atamai was exposed to. Alterations to mask are also present. Unknown if transformation has affected mask power or merely aesthetics. Non-visual changes unknown. 83% chance additional or improved powers may be present. Vocal patterns have been altered slightly. More samples are needed to properly assess. Diagnostic complete. Insufficient data to form complete picture of changes. Conclusion can be made that transformation is not lethal to recipient. Negative factors are not immediately obvious. Turning attention to future actions. Mysterious portal destination is unknown. Entering without testing is unsafe. ... Ally Atamai has just entered portal. Portal is likely safe. There is a Possibility that portal is filtered for recipients of NUVA. Testing theory. While the machine’s companions reacted to the sudden reappearance and disappearance of their newly-NUVAed ally, the machine picked up a nearby rock and proceeded to toss it through the portal. The improvised projectile passed through with no resistance. Portal does not appear to have a filter. Portal likely lacks filter on other side. Possibility of enemies invading village using portal is likely. Will need to ensure temple is guarded for future invasions. Other temples should be activated. Should try to secure power-ups for trustworthy companions. Ally Arkius is suggesting hypothetical earth ruins as next target. Target is sound. Logically distance from stone ruins to earth ruins should be shorter. In addition, this unit should be able to calculate likely location using Onu-metru great disc location. Sudden query: why use great discs as keys to NUVA transformation? Despite rarity of great discs, possibility exists of forging new copies. If keys were meant to be restrictive, unique NUVA specific keys would be created. And why would NUVA device seemingly consume great disc? Great discs are useful tools with strong abilities on their own. Searching archived conversation data from 1-2 weeks ago... Target conversation located. Description of the Creator’s great disc device as described by Allies Knichou and Stannis. Comparing description of great disc device to NUVA lock device... Significant similarities present. Possible link between devices. If functionality is similar, NUVA devices may enhance recipient with power of single great disc. Only two great disc powers are known to this unit. Other great discs in possession can be examined at later time. Po-metru disc has already been used. If Onu-metru disc power is granted to an individual... The mechanical enforcer suddenly darted for the exit of the NUVA roomk. Turning back to its companions the machine quickly began to explain, “Earth ruins must be prioritized. This unit theorizes that NUVA devices may transfer great disc powers to recipient. Ally Jutori, you remember what the Onu-metru great disc is capable of. That power must not fall into untrustworthy hands.” The machine paused to let its words sink in before continuing. “This unit will begin calculations of earth ruins likely whereabouts. Based on preliminary estimates possibility exists where ruins are under the giant robot head. More precise calculations must be done which will take time. While that is occurring, Allies should recruit others to join us on journey and check on vehicle status. Additionally, guards should be posted in this room. This portal does not filter who can pass through, which could lead to invaders entering through it.” With its thoughts given, the machine darted out of the room to begin preparations. OOC: @Onaku@Tarn@Snelly@Toru Nui@Harvali @~Xemnas~ There's a small rock following Atamai through the portal. Up to you whether to do anything with it. IC Ysocla - Tactical Panda: Ysocla let out a small chuckle at her crewmate’s antics. It wasn’t enough to get her to smile, but the levity was appreciated. OOC: @EmperorWhenua@Tarn@Vezok's Friend
  10. IC Kilo-M9 - Ruins of Stone: Unexpected events have occurred. Temple effects remained undefined. Analyzing situation. Ally Arkius. Status: Alive. Larger in stature, muscle mass. Missing mask that was previously on face. Ally Atamai. Status: undetermined. Fell through floor when device activated. Unknown golden illumination detected in area Ally Atamai dropped. Possible cause for changes in Ally Arkius. Current objectives: Recover other great discs, wait for update on status of Ally Atamai. The happy moment for the Odd Company and assorted followers had turned into shocked gasps. Instead the final piece of the puzzle they had been trying to complete had changed one of them forever and possibly consumed the other. Among the group stood a machine, who through a lack of emotions and fast processing power did not join the variety of surprised reactions. While their Vortixx companion tended to their altered ally, the robotic enforcer strode over to where their missing fe-toa ally had set down the other great discs. Taking the metal box of powerful artifacts into its grasp, the former cop joined the Collector in tending to Arkius. OOC: @Onaku@Tarn@Harvali@~Xemnas~@Snelly@Toru Nui
  11. Hey GMs, I have a quick question: Do wholly mechanical beings such as Kilo and the Vahki PCs count as living beings for the purposes of taboos and desecration and such? Asking mostly about Tuakana's taboo at the moment but the clarity for future interactions with aspects would be nice. @Unreliable Narrator@Vezok's Friend@Eyru
  12. IC Kilo-M9 - Po-koro: Gears whirred within the machine’s head in response to Arkius’ question. Eventually a crisp, friendly voice was emitted from the enforcer’s speakers. “Legends tell of the Spear of Fusion’s ability to fuse creatures together, combining their minds and powers into one entity. Such fusions are also able to be reversed, returning the two beings back into their original separate selves. One tale in particular mentions a skakdi known for their cleverness and cunning. Through a freak accident he was split into two beings. The first contained the anger and strength of the skakdi, while the other obtained the intelligence but lacked the sanity. The second being was ostracized from every group he encountered due to his unlikable qualities. This tale suggests that the Spear is capable of defusing not only already-fused beings but also normal creatures as well.” The machine returned to its usual variety of voices before continuing. “Records of the Spear mention use cases involving living beings only. This unit intends to confirm whether the Spear can be used on inanimate objects through experimentation. This unit can keep the Spear safe until such experiments are complete.” OOC: @The UltimoScorp@Onaku@Tarn@Harvali@~Xemnas~@Snelly@Toru Nui Once Onaku posts whether Arkius gives the spear to Kilo we should be good for the timeskip.
  13. IC Kilo-M9 - Po-koro: Village relocation process is in progress. Gathering of consruction materials, 50% complete. Supplies, 62% complete. Personnel, 74% gathered. Now searching for Ally Arkius... Around the machine, villagers ran to and fro, collecting any bits of loose material that could prove useful in their new settlement. Some focused on bits of remaining framework for buildings and food. Others made efforts to retrieve personal items, pictures on tablets, reminders of their past life experiences. All were no doubt reeling from the news that they were once again being driven from the home from circumstances that they were powerless against. For the robotic enforcer, such movements were familiar. The ever-changing nature of the archives meant that areas once thought secure from the watchful eyes of the authorities or archivists could be rendered unusable with the newest acquisitions to the collection. For an unfeeling construct with no attachments moving elsewhere for survival was a trivial decision. In this case however there was one item in particular that needed to be secured. This task had led the mechanical enforcer to Arkius, who was busy assisting some of the villagers with some heavy lifting. After catching the toa’s eye and waiting for the matoran to move on to the next task the machine spoke. “Ally Arkius, this unit has come to retrieve the Spear of Fusion. Your assistance will be required. Where is the spear currently located?” OOC: @The UltimoScorp@Onaku@Tarn@Harvali@~Xemnas~@Snelly@Toru Nui IC Ysocla Naenoic - Tactical Panda, the Rig: Coming home had always been bittersweet for Ysocla. Despite the satisfaction of returning to familiar sights, it was always accompanied by the feelings of disgust for the inhabitants of the Rig. Every time she returned she had to remind herself that there were good people there, that no matter how depraved the town looked at first glance there were some there who were willing to help others for little in return. For as much as she wished to leave the wretched hive behind it was still her current home. These feelings all came crashing down upon her as what remained of the Rig came into view. She was taking some time to get some fresh air after the meeting with Zataka had finally ended. From her position leaning at the railing she was one of the first to see what had befallen the village. As the Panda cleared the last hills it was immediately apparent that something was wrong, a fact that was further confirmed as the ship drew closer to its destination. As the realization of what she was looking at set in she looked away in horror, her breathing no longer steady. Grabbing the railing to steady herself, feelings of shock and grief flowed over her. Accompanying them was something else, a much darker sensation: joy. She felt some amount of happiness that the Rig was gone, that the people there had suffered and lost everything, and that this blight of skakdi culture had been wiped away by forces far beyond them. Her grief was soon replaced by guilt at having these thoughts. How could someone like her that wished for a good and honorable society take such glee in the death of so many? She tried to stifle the joy, bury it deep within her, but it was a part of her, something that couldn’t be removed. It was only until one of the other crewmen called her name that she realized she was still at the railing. Around her the others were preparing to descend. Her duty as ships engineer eventually forced her limbs into autopilot as she stumbled her way down to the main engine. She stared blankly ahead as her hands turned gears and shifted levers to prep the ship for landing. As the Panda finally touched down she weakly croaked out a “Three... two... one... landed!” over the intercom and collapsed into a sitting position. Resting her head on her knee and wrapping her arms around here, she rocked back and forth trying to shake off her feelings. Rational thought finally started to take over as the ship arrived at their destination. Ysocla had felt these conflicting feelings once before; it was time to deal with them again. Rational thought began to drown out the wordless voice in her head. It was clear that this damage was caused by no ordinary storm. Even below decks she could hear the muttering speculation of the crew above her. It must have been a tahtorak. There was other explanation. If there was in fact a tahtorak marching around the island, there were two possibilities for the village’s destruction: Either whoever summoned the tahtorak had let it run amok, or they had directed it to attack the town. The first option would be caused by ignorance or laziness of their new pet. The second could only be caused by malice. Either way, this unjustified attack could not go unpunished. The self-loathing anger within her had transformed into a righteous fury. She pushed this strength into her legs, forcing them to stand. When she emerged from below decks her doubts were gone. All that remained was a simple mission. If she found whoever had summoned this tahtorak and had caused this damage, she would kill them personally. If she obtained the means, she’d strike the beast down as well. With this mindset driving her, the sight of Kunok McGrockk filled her with rage. Of all the people to have survived the disaster, the first one they confirmed was the unethical merchant. Her fingers clenched tighter around her cane as she sighed in disgust. It was just her luck. 14. IC Kilo-M9 - Po Koro: Elsewhere in the village of Po-koro a machine continued its work. Before any progress could be made on its objectives a large rainstorm had washed over the still-new settlement. The source of the sudden weather change had been all too apparent. Whatever the creature that strode across the horizon, it didn’t match any archives records. Speculation on the entity’s identity had to be put on hold however, as the desert village had most certainly not been waterproofed in any capacity, a fact only exacerbated by the tunnels just beneath the surface. The flimsy foundation and muddy terrain had created a great many problems to overcome when it came to rescuing the imperiled citizens. The machine did not mind the challenge. These conditions were no threat to its survival, which left it with only one task to focus on. So it was that the automaton carried out its duties, retrieving as many matoran as possible in as efficient a route as it could manage. It avoided the areas its allies focused on in order to maximize efficiency, pulling villagers from the muck with relative ease. The gripping claws on its limbs splayed out to increase stability in the moist terrain while its stamina was effectively unlimited. There was no care displayed for property or possessions of those it rescued; all that mattered was preserving lives. Even as the rainstorm subsided the steel guardian continued its work while the others began to regroup. It listened in on its allies discussing their next plan of action. Expected suggestions were raised. What was unexpected was the sudden appearance of Atamai. As the last matoran in the current sector was safely retrieved, the machine took stock of its ally. There was something aged about the toa of iron; whatever had happened on his journey had had a significant effect on him. There would be time for that later. Presently, the toa’s arrival meant that he might have succeeded in his quest to retrieve the discs. That would change things. The Spear still needed retrieval, but for now the best course of action was information. “Based on prior experience with weakness kanoka, regeneration kanoka of significant power should be sufficient for repairing village foundations,” the machine theorized as it marched over to its allies. There was a piece of wall from a damaged hut in its arms, and as it continued it began carving into the slab with one of its protodermis digits. “Regardless of possibility of foundation repair, this area is unsafe for long-term living. Hostile forces are already aware of village location and know that defenses are limited. Tunnels underneath also unresolved point of possible attack. Current situation is untenable. Evacuation is advised. If no suitable independent location is currently known, transport of civilians to Metru Koro will likely be most effective until a new site for Po Koro can be located. Civilians have resided in this village for about 2 weeks. Emotional attachment should be minimal. Psychological effects can be minimized and dealt with after transport.” The mechanical enforcer paused for a moment and handed the slab of rock it had been working on to Atamai. From its memory banks the machine had carved a rough sketch of the creature the village had witnessed in the distance. Between the machine’s sketch and Kanohi’s description the size of the entity could not be truly conveyed, but with any luck these descriptors would convey the information to the toa of iron properly. “A sketch of the creature observed near the village. Based on distance from village and relative height, entity is similar in size to a small mountain. No records exist in database. Direct combat is not advise.” After letting its word sink in for a moment before moving to another pressing topic. “Ally Atamai, were you successful in your task?” the machine asked, referring to the iron toa’s disc quest. 15. IC Kilo-M9 - Po-koro: A threat to Metru-Koro is a threat to the matoran. Action must be taken to protect the city. Analyzing possible attack strategies. Use of airship for travel makes crossing moat a simple process. Could carry large amount of ground forces as well for invasion. Counterpoint: enemy objective is to destroy city rather than capture. Eliminating matoran is main goal. Mounting weapons on airships more effective strategy. Guarantees strong defensive position while providing stronger attacks against city. This unit does not possess anti-aerial vehicle combat capabilities. Direct response to airship attack is limited. Allies Jutori and Vashni will be more effective in this situation. Information is needed on the status of Metru-Koro. Scouts can be sent while this unit pursues objectives in this village. “This unit recommends sending some allies to Metru-Koro to determine status of defenses. Allies Jutori or Vashni would both be useful against aerial attacks, and their vehicles enable faster travel between the villages.” The machine turned to Kanohi before continuing. “This unit has other objectives in this village that must be completed before leaving. Are allies Nale or Arkius currently present in the village, and what kanoka making capabilities does this village possess?” OOC: @Tarn@Harvali@Snelly@Toru Nui
  16. IC Kilo-M9 - Po-koro: This usurper unit appears to have more individualism than usual units. Conversations overheard from civilians prior to impact indicate usurper unit is a ‘squad mother’. More self-awareness than usual usurpers. Reason creators would add more sentience after past attempts is unknown. More analysis required. Emotional reactions also appear to be present. Purpose is unknown. Will need to inquire later. Organic allies are having extreme emotional reactions to history of kralhi and usurpers. This unit was unaware allies did not know the story. Will need to question allies about the cause of their feelings after they have returned to neutral mental states. Ally Kanohi’s request is intriguing. This unit does not have desires. Following primary objectives is main goal. Reduction in obstacles to pursuing objectives may be possible. Allies are also requesting unit input regarding cooperating with usurpers. Usurper unit is not currently displaying hostile intentions, and stated motivations provide a logical explanation for their arrival here. Possibility of usurper unit lying is also likely. Such a misdirection could be used to gain an advantageous position in order to counter numbers disadvantage. Ally Kanohi would be placed in greater danger due to lack of action. Both scenarios are logically sound. Ability to determine best choice is limited. Past actions by usurpers would suggest hostile intent is more likely. This usurper is different though. They are not entirely hive mind based. Usurper unit likely activated after the Betrayal, therefore was not directly involved with past actions. If usurpers are present in future matoran civilization, present situation is currently best chance for peaceful resolution. Chance of hostile response is greater than zero. Trust is required. This unit possesses those capabilities. While allies of various shapes and sizes made their case for peace, the machine’s red gaze never left its original target. Before it was a machine in many ways alike despite their fundamental differences in creation. Two beings built by one matoran for the same purpose of guarding others regardless of their individual methods. Two beings with more individuality than their creators would have probably preferred them to have. Despite those similarities though, there was a history of hostility that could not be ignored, actions that could not be taken back. The mechanical enforcer slowly turned its gaze to Kanohi. Slowly the machine lowered its swords as the red glow of its eyes slowly returned to their normal green. “This unit wishes to perform its duties,” came the usual calm, garbled voice. “No longer being criminalized would assist with that pursuit. That is this unit’s request.” The machine turned back to its fellow automaton before continuing. “Our creator programmed this unit with the capability to trust others. It is unknown if you possess the same ability. For now, this unit will trust you and your fellow units to not take hostile actions against the matoran or this unit. As long as that condition is fulfilled, there is no need for hostile actions.” The machine gradually climbed off the 4-wheeler and walked towards the vahki, stopping a short distance away. “This unit hopes that this cooperation is not broken by hostile actions by either party. You may call this unit Citizen Pacification Unit K1R1 Kilo-M9. Short form, Kilo. What designation are you known by?” OOC: @Tarn@Harvali@Toru Nui@Snelly
  17. IC Kilo-M9 - Po-koro: Usurper unit does not match current database entries. Analyzing... Neutral color scheme. Bulkier torso design likely contains additional components. Disk launcher still attached to cranial unit. Current armaments: Ko-metru disc of unknown power level and ability, staves of presence, possible additional abilities. Voice pattern has unusual amount of condescension in tone. Analyzing potential combat sequence. Usurper likely begins with disc launch as primary ranged damaging attack. Ko-metru disc renders blocking difficult. Dodging more efficient. Optimizing evasion pathfinding. Current elevation on vehicle provides minor cover to this unit. Also enables additional containment blast firing angles around potential obstacles. Usurper’s stance next to vehicle limits lateral dodging opportunities. New obstacle detected. Ally Kanohi is currently standing between this unit and target. Elevated position enables firing arcs past obstacle. Target may attempt to attack or take ally Kanohi hostage. Will need to evacuate ally Kanohi from firing line when possible. Ally Jutori is raising concerns about possible violence. Multiple allies appear confused about motives. Explanation is required. Preparing communications... “This unit is following protocols,” the machine stated to its organic allies. “Ally Kanohi, when concerns were raised with kralhi units’ ability to perform duties, the Creator, under guidance from Turaga Dume, created usurper units. All kralhi units were brought to the Coliseum to be decommissioned. Usurpers were deployed to dismantle all units by force. Kralhi units, being programmed with independent thought processes and self-preservation instincts, resisted destruction. Those that could fought and ran. Ever since usurpers have possessed kill on sight orders for all kralhi units. This kill order has never been rescinded, meaning these usurpers are an active threat to this unit and must be dealt with accordingly.” The mechanical enforcer paused a moment before continuing. “Additional information: only known usurper hives are based in Metru Nui. Any active usurpers would need to be activated there and must have been rebuilt by the remnants of the League of Six Kingdoms. Unless these usurpers have managed to bypass any failsafe to prevent rebellion, it is likely they are under or could be brought under league control at any time. That makes them a threat to the matoran that must be dealt with accordingly.” Once the matoran words were spoken the machine let out a series of low whirs, noises that its companions had never heard it make before. NU-8020S would recognize it as matching its own mechanical language. “Usurper word choice of ‘prototype’ is incorrect,” said Kilo-M9 to its fellow machine. “Prototype implies inferiority. This unit knows enough features were removed from usurpers during mass production for that to not be the case.” OOC: @Tarn@Harvali@Toru Nui@Snelly
  18. IC Ysocla - Tactical Panda: Right, so that didn’t work. We’ll give it one more try before declaring the failure of diplomacy. Let’s put things in more perspective for her, since she still seems stuck on her high horse. Ysocla’s eyes had narrowed as the warlord finished her stubbornly refusing her help. It was an expression that Korio and Yumiwak could recognize as her irritation brewing beneath the surface. If things continued Ysocla was going to take drastic actions. The engineer took note of the titan’s glance to her leader. More active convincing was required. She pressed down on the table to lift herself back to her feet, the sudden bang of the impact coming off a bit louder than she had anticipated. There was not time to waste though. “I think you might be a bit confused about some things,” she began. “First of all, you don’t have any idea who I am. Let me be clear, I am quite curious about where you come from and what your problem is. But a lot of why I offer my assistance is from a genuine desire to help, something I know you can figure out with ease,” she continued, tapping the side of her head. “Do not confuse my motivations with the usual opportunistic thugs on this cursed rock. Some of us have some positive aspirations. “Secondly, don’t undersell the benefit of allies. The chance to have help in this land doesn’t come by very often, especially help that isn’t requested. One thing I’ve learned all too well is that injuries,” she said, prodding at Zataka’s wounded side with the tip of her cane, “are much easier to deal with when there’s someone else to watch your blind spots. “Third, at the end of the day, you’re going to have to convince Lady Yumiwak before you’re getting any help. Not because Korio and I are mindless drones who can’t act without her approval, but simply because you’re the newcomer in an established group. The onus is on you to give us a reason to trust you. And if you decide that it’s not worth it then fair enough, but you’re not getting off this ship without a good reason so if you have something important to do it’s getting put on hold. This right here is your chance to not be a prisoner for however long Lady Yumiwak deigns to keep you. Keep that in mind when making your decision.” If she gives another condescending reply again, then so help me... OOC: @Tarn@Vezok's Friend@EmperorWhenua IC Kilo-M9 - Po-koro: NUVA chamber presents unique problem. According to allies with direct testimony, great discs are no longer present. Chamber is unable to open without new discs. Simplest solution to problem is creating new great discs. Steps to creating great discs is unknown. This Unit has no knowledge of forging discs. Limited number of great discs implies forging process is difficult. Discs have power magnitudes above conventional kanoka. Possibility: Use existing discs to create new great discs. Combine powers of similar discs to create more powerful discs. Issues with plan: Combining discs into more powerful discs is not possible. Merged discs change abilities but do not gain power levels. Possible solution: Spear of Fusion. Records are vague, Spear may function on objects as well as organics. If correct, spear may be used to fuse similar discs to stronger variants of same power. Number of level 1 Po-Metru weakness discs required for Po-Metru great disc: 256 discs. Likely easier to forge than single great disc. Current Objectives: Travel to Po-koro with allies; Obtain Spear of Fusion from Ally Nale or Arkius; Test potential of object fusion; acquire test discs and test disc fusion; Create great disc; Provide driving tips to Ally Jutori. The machine spent most of the drive over observing the landscape for key structures to add to its topographical map of the region. To some the occasional hills were very similar in nature, but to the eyes of the machine every detail stood out. Despite the occasional drifting courtesy of the inexperienced driver, the ride was a relatively smooth one without any nefarious encounters, leaving plenty of time for planning. Confirming arrival in Po-koro. Allies Kanohi and Arkius identified. USURPERS DETECTED. Transport identified. Entering combat mode. Charging containment blast. Identifying number of hostiles... While the group of organics caught up with one another, their metallic companion had entered a combat stance, swords drawn and tail raised. Red eyes aglow, the mechanical enforcer’s gaze did not leave the group of its replacements at it spoke but one question to the group. “Why are Usurpers present?” OOC: @Snelly@Tarn@Harvali@Toru Nui
  19. IC Ysocla - Tactical Panda II: Truly this was some delicious cake. The spongy moist texture of this yellow confection brought a rare sense of enjoyment to the mind of the stone-faced skakdi. Ysocla was amazed that such a creation could actually come from one of her kind, as she would expect them to be too focused on destroying each other to create something so tasty. Perhaps it had been stolen from one of the other races. She’d have to ask Lady Yumiwak the source later. So caught up was she in savoring this treat that she had almost lost track of the conversation. A question from Zataka clarifying if the land was really called Zakaz had her struggling to avoid rolling her eyes while dutifully chewing away at a forkful of her slice. Of course the island’s called Zakaz. It’s not like it’s a secret. Such questions were delayed momentarily by a loud cry that could be clearly heard even at their current cruising altitude. There was no mistaking it, and Lady Yumiwak confirmed a second later what Ysocla already presumed: there was a new tahtorak on the loose. The indigo skakdi took a moment to set her fork down and consider the situation. A new tahtorak could mean many things depending on who was in control of it. While Lady Yumiwak was probably correct in that Zakaz didn’t become its current wasteland state due to rampaging tahtoraks, a misused one was still an incredibly large creature of destruction, with the capacity for some very quick localized terraforming. They could very well come into conflict with it, and in their current state there wasn’t much the Panda could do against such a monstrosity. She glanced around the assembled beings. Zataka was fuming over something she would no doubt refuse to explain, Lady Yumiwak looked as interested as someone who desired her own tahtorak would. Her gaze moved to Korio who appeared to be having a nervous breakdown. Her fellow crewmate was so overcome with fear that he was chewing on his own utensils. Now that she thought of it, Korio had acted nervous around the subject of tahtoraks before, though he had never mentioned the reason. She have to talk to him about it later. As she studied her compatriot he turned his gaze to her. Their eyes stared into each other for a moment before she realized she was staring at him with a much more focused gaze than was polite. She adjusted herself to try to give the most reassuring glance she could. If there was any chance they’d be fighting a tahtorak in the future she’d need to try to help him through it. Before the prolonged eye contact could get even more awkward the moment was interrupted by Zataka launching into an outburst at people who weren’t there. As the titan stood up to mutter grumpily some more Ysocla noticed that the captive had not eaten any of her cake. Such a waste of good food. Ysocla would not forget this heinous act. “So...are we going to pretend we didn’t just hear some mythical beast roar out there?” the captive asked, dodging the need to explain herself. “That depends. Are we going to pretend that we didn’t just hear you ramble about how something needed fixing only after we confirmed to you that this is Zakaz?” the engineer asked, breaking her silence in the conversation. “From my perspective it seems pretty clear that you know things about here despite being a newcomer who’s killed every native you’ve encountered so far. It doesn’t take a mask of telepathy to know that you knowing something is broken in relation to our world is a big deal, possibly bigger than a new mythical creature roaming around. Thing is, we won’t know for sure unless you give us some information about it. Who knows, if it’s important enough we might even try to help you solve your problem.” Not likely, she thought, But it’s worth a shot. OOC: @Tarn@Vezok's Friend@EmperorWhenua
  20. IC Ysocla - Tactical Panda II: The mission to apprehend the outsider had gone a fair bit differently than Ysocla had expected. Much to her personal disappointment there had not been a duel between Zai and the newcomer known as Zataka. Instead, a conversation that was only half-verbalized and half-mental was had. Zataka had responded to Lady Yumiwak’s forceful personality with flippant dismissals, leading to a war with words more resembling two massive egos passive-aggressively nudging each other. It wasn’t really to Ysocla’s taste; the subtle machinations to preserve one’s reception amongst one’s peers wasn’t her main priority. Actions spoke much louder than words after all. Nonetheless, Zataka was now in their custody and what happened to her now wasn’t Ysocla’s decision to make. She had seen to restarting the flight engine upon returning to the ship as instructed and was now leaning on her cane observing the captive. She was certainly impressive in stature and was able to use kanohi. Tales of those who lived on Zakaz before described beings who could summon their elemental powers without a partner or channeling weapon as skakdi did. The engineer wondered if Zataka possessed such abilities or something more. There was overwhelming evidence of her martial prowess, but what other powers was she hiding? "Korio, Ysocla, would you care to join us? If you haven't got other duties to return to immediately... of course." Her musings were interrupted by Lady Yumiwak’s offer. Such requests to dine with their leader did not come up often and Ysocla had no desire to snub her leader on such things. Besides, there would be more opportunities to learn about the newcomers by participating. “Thank you for your kind offer, Lady Yumiwak. I’ll gladly take you up on it,” she replied. So saying, she began searching for the right seat to take. Making note of Korio’s presence and Lady Yumiwak’s likely seat, she picked a chair that left an open seat near their leader. There was no need to antagonize her compatriot after all. Sitting down was a bit of a challenge with one leg encased in a cast, but she eventually managed to find a comfortable position that didn’t look incredibly awkward. Seeing as the others had not sat down yet, Ysocla took this time to get a good look at the newcomer. She was definitely not in optimal condition, but she wondered if there anything deeper than the surface level injuries. Activating her x-ray vision, the engineer gave the captive a once over to check for weaknesses. There was always a chance they’d have to fight later after all, and if it turned out this newcomer had entirely different biology than the skakdi that was also useful information. “I must say, your height is quite impressive,” she observed. “Are other beings from your world similar in stature or are you a notable exception?” It was a question from both a desire to cover her examination and also a place of genuine curiosity. A hypothetical world of really tall people would be quite the sight to behold. OOC: @EmperorWhenua@Tarn@Vezok's Friend

  22. IC Kilo-M9 - Ruins of stone: The machine followed behind Atamai, gears whirring in processing power. OOC: @~Xemnas~@Vezok's Friend IC Ysocla - Tactical Panda II: Beneath the main deck the half-crippled engineer was in the midst of work getting the ship ready for landing. That is, until she heard her captain yelling new commands over the sounds of the flight engine. “Guess we’re going to the head,” she muttered to herself as she reset the pre-landing settings on the enigmatic machine. “Hopefully the denizens of that monolith will be of the heroic type, like the stories of old. Wouldn’t that be something?” A sharp turn threw her off-balance for a moment, interrupting her adjustments. She recovered quickly, finishing up the last few turns of knobs to leave the engine running normally until lady Yumiwak ordered the ship to land. OOC: @EmperorWhenua
