I have been a ghost here, but decided to stop in and share some life with everyone. Things are rough financially and it is hard to concentrate on Lego, even though I am attending Brickcon this fall.

We went up to the lake last weekend and rode up high to a point named Ascension. Up around 5000 feet, it was gorgeous, and too warm to wear a jacket the whole day out riding. This is bliss and utter peace within.

    Hey all!

I've decided to put together some new topics to post up in the BBC forum.

first off, is a new chibi topic now that Bionicle is complete. It'll sure be a lot easier to build them all now that no new bionicle sets are coming out. Hero Factory on the other hand... he he he. I can't WAIT to chibi those guys!

The topic will have not only all the sets in chibi, but also with full sets of building instructions to go with them, so everyone who reads can build a chibi for themselves. I just completed Karzahni, some Glatorian, some Mahri, Mistika, Phantoka, Tarakava and more!

I cant even describe how cool the tarakava came out! :3

    secondly,

I am going to revamp the Trials of Terror project. New mocs with the story and movie clips/moviemakin' will all be inclusive in one topic. This will take a while, so dont expect to see it for a while. I have not forgotten about the movie, I do eventually want to do it.

In the meantime, I have some chibis to build!

I be a pluggin away! *snap*

I took my all black Shoei RF-200 helmet that I got for $5, and decided to add some custom decals to it to detract from its boringness. I went to the hardware store and picked up a wide roll of red reflective tape, and a narrow roll of the white, and came up with this...

I spent maybe a total of six hours working on it. What do you think?

The tape reflects light pretty well, so it is high vis at night, and should gleam in the sun. (click the pics to see larger versions) I am going to use it for snowmobiling.

Here they are, the long awaited final run of Neo Shifters sets. These are hard to find, and if you can't find them locally, check out Amazon.com. I got lucky and found the whole set for retail price with free shipping. DO NOT OVERPAY! These sets are 11.99

Featured in this blog, are the four primary shifters. I will address Duplicon and the small sets in another entry. After that, I will do an entry about the whole line as well as the custom sets I have assembled.

I have noticed that the plastic quality is slightly more brittle on these sets. Even though they have tight fitting parts, if you assemble them at any other angle than perfectly sraight, there is a chance that the connection points will crack. I'll be contacting Mega Blocks soon for replacement parts on two of these guys. At least they send you the parts, no questions asked!

One big bummer is that there are no more light up eyes. These sets, Duplicon, and the web battlers all have a solid molded face. (will take pics in final review)

Onto the action! Click on the pictures to see a larger version.

    The four shifters

All rolled up. Technically, the weapons are mounted to the sides of the ball so that it will roll, but I like to set them up like this.

and their Neos. The Neos a; have really cool melee weapons that can be stuck behind the shifters mask or in their weapon. They look really cool mounted into the masks, cause it gives them either horns or tendrils on their heads. (will show this in final review)

    like the Coldplay song,

"At the touch of a button, I can go anywhere I want to go".....

I will settle for nothing less!

Anyway, I want to get a new car, it may take a year or two, but dangit, I am gonna get one! 2010 Dodge Charger has gotten my attention. We rented one of these cars on our trip to Hawaii, and it is very spacious inside. The car handles nice, but the v6 version is wimpy. Its got no cajones.

Now then, the model I am going for is not the biggest most expensive $46,000 model with the 440 horse 6.2 liter Hemi (0-100 in 17 seconds! O_O)

I am going for the all wheel drive model with the smaller of the two Hemis at 5.7 liters, giving about 350+ horsepower. More than sufficient for my needs, plus it would be road handy and affordably insurable! Its an all wheel drive car, so it will handle superbly in my Alaskan homeland.

So yeah, here's the specs and pricing...

    I'm done!
Here is My 2010 Charger R/T P Package AWD

I got a job offer with the City of Seward working at the harbor, and if that pulls through, I will be getting more pay and more hours plus a boatload of awesome experience and training! (I'll blog about it later if I get the job) If this happens, I might be able to think about buying this car! GLEE!

    I'm going to Hawaii tomorrow!

I have never been there, so it should be a blast!

My family owns a new timeshare on Oahu, and it just opened up! Nice and brand new! I can't wait to go. I really wish I could take Dean with me, poor fella has to go back to work in -50 cold weather.

on a sadder note, My Brother and his GF flew into anchorage because her father passed away in the hospital a couple days ago. I took the day off work today so I could get to town before flying out to see them, and pay my condolences. Loss of a family member is so hard, and I kindof know what she is going through, although not as hard as it is for her now.

A life has been renewed. After sorrow, comes the joy of remembrance of all the good times.

I am diligently working on a one color moc assembled with blue pinaxles and red axles. Keeping other connectors to a minimum, and not using any grey or tan connectors. It will have a wonderful patch of red on it, that will wow the audience hopefully......

And it will have an awesome technique that I pioneered, and have never seen done anywhere.....

I can't wait to see her in her full completed form!

    Wish me luck!

So, yeah. Winter is officially setting in up here in Seward. I got to scrape the rental yard with the loader to clear it of the slush that would undoubtedly turn into ice this morning.

I have a feeling this year that I am going to be responsible for a lot of the plowing that my workplace contracts out every year. I told the Bossman that I wanted to run the loader more plowing snow this year, and get an even better feel for it. It will look awesome on my resume if I have a lot of hours logged on equipment.

Behold my Ryde! (sans the gnarly bucket teeth, ours has a smooth edge blade)

Its a small loader, and is very nimble. You can make some really tight turns, and get into tight places too. The loader is an articulated type, so it bends in the middle to steer. So bring it on Jack Frost, I'mma ready for ya!

So, as a few of you my know, my good ol trusty HP laptop blew up, no longer to be of service. A component int he motherboard that allows it to run off of AC power and charge the battery fried, so therefore, it got no juice in the caboose. I took it down to the shop and had it analyzed and taken apart, and so here it lies, in pieces. RIP HP, you were a good computer!

So, I was kindly lent a little laptop to use until I was able to go out and buy one for myself.....

So, I get back from Mexico, and Dean tells me theres a lil' Summ Sumthin' waiting for me at home. He had driven home to take care of a few errands before he left to work on the slope. I had spent that weekend in Anchorage at my moms house, so I was eager to get home to see what this so called surprise was. I was thinking ooo maybe its a big lego set or something!

So, I get home, and there's a box sitting in my living room that's the size of a carousel set.

    I open it..........

And there is a brand new BOOYAH super awesome white Sony Vaio laptop inside!

    This was my face....

Its such an awesome laptop! Its wayyyy faster and has a ton more memory and ram than my old computer could shake a stick at. Now I just have to get my old hard drive and put it into a dock so that I can use my photoshop CS3 suite thats on it, as well as access all my old files.

All I can say is a million thanks till the day I die Dean! You are such a generous guy! Never have I been given such an awesome gift by someone before, and especially so from my true love! I was not expecting it at all! O_O

    till the next blog.....

    BOOOOOYAHHHHH!!!

So I threw my first Lego Birthday Party ever.

One of my friends kids (My boss's niece's son) was having a birthday today. His mom had called me up around the beginning of October about this, and I told her yeah, I'll do it. "Lemme grab some figures, and I'll get back to ya". When I was at Brickcon, I got to talk to certified Lego professional Dan Parker, and I asked him about how his group does parties. He talked about having a theme for parties i.e. pirates Bionicle, Star Wars, whatever.... and having do not touch models and play with models, as well as providing sets to build and parts to build with as well. You also build a model for the birthday kid. His crews go all out and build something huge. I also built a schweet little mech at his studio before going back home.

I am not quite up the the grand scale of their parties, so for $150, I threw a nice Lego party. I took along two big totes of Lego, and three big totes of Bionicle. I had some random sets and mocs posed around the room in battle poses for decor. There were 15 kids at the party, and most of them wanted to build with Bionicle. They also did balloon fights for when they needed to blow off steam... (hyper 7&8 year olds.. lol) So many questions, and assistance calls, it took a lot to keep up with them all.

Well, the hot set of the day.....

    Bohrok

Bohrok of all things! They all wanted Bohrok! Good thing this random box had enough to make about 6 or 7 of em, plus I had about 3 or 4 already assembled on display in the room. It was an all out Bohrok fest on the bionicle pile. They were upgrading them with different shields and weapons. Trading disks and krana with eachother. It was fun to watch. Overall, they all kept very busy building. One of the moms who was there built a purple house out of bricks! Its so cool, I am gonna keep it assembled!

There was also a cake that looked like it was made outta LEGO Bricks! Nicely made for a home cake indeed. It was a speckle cake, and she used marshmallows for the lego studs, and the bricks were frosted different colors. Very clever, and easy for a structured cake! The presents session was good, as the birthday boy got lots of gifts, including two clone trooper packs and an agents his speed boat chase set. The party favors were also $3 lego sets, and I got two of em courtesy of the birthday boy himself! How cool is that!

Overall, it was a great party! The basement hall at the Library was a perfect place to throw such an event. She had reserved it for two hours, but thats never enough time. The kids wanted to build more! I don't blame em when there's a huge pile of elements at their disposal. I ended up giving the kid a raincheck for his birthday moc, (more on that in a moment) and I gave him a Bohrok Kal. He was happy no doubt!

Now for his birthday moc, which is a detailed Toa, I am gonna have his uncle (my boss) take it to him. My boss paid for the party as a surprise gift to his lil nephew, cause he never gets the chance to do anything with him, busy schedules of all parties and such. So I think it'll be a good way for them to bond.

So thats pretty much it for my Sunday. I have been chillen relaxin at home most of the day. lol

    seeya next blog!

So, yeah, on the 5th of July, the Seward Racing Lions hold their annual mudbog race. Contenders from around the state as well as the local boys and girls all get together to go play in the mud! I hope to compete in this next year with my main man, as we are building a truck together.

Heres a link to a folder containing pics of our truck. I will add more pictures as we go along, and get it going.

I finished another painting. This one was painted using only Sepia watercolor, and is based off of an old photograph that was taken in the 1930's outside of Petersburg Alaska. I'll get better pics of it out of te frame in a couple weeks, as the glass is reflecting a bit of stuff, distorting things a tad. Enjoy!

I picked up an entry form for submitting art for this years music fest poster, and the theme was "harvest", and whatever that may mean to an Alaskan, so I sat down tonight and for 7 hours (breaks included) I painted this. It's painted in Watercolor.

    Seiners Harvest

I hope I win the $50 and t-shirt. Winners art becomes the poster! Woot, wish me luck!

I finished my first successful batch of Squaw candy this year, and it turned out WAY better than the batch I tried last year. Once you've tried salmon smoked like this, you would never go back to your normal store bought smoked salmon!

This batch was made from frozen fish from last year, so it is not as perfect as fresh caught fish, but is still dang tasty!

The next batch will be even better! I am gettin gmy process dialed in, and I hope to be as good as my grandpa was at this.

Life is so beautiful. Mine has been forever changed by the love of a man who is honest, caring, kind, trustworthy, HANDSOME, fun loving, adventurous and oh SO so SOOO much more. Way too many good things to list! He just left for his next two weeks of work up north, and we miss each other already. I know this time will go by quickly, as he has hard work to do, and I have a moc to build. Last time he was up north, he made me something special out of pipeline steel...

    Behold, his heart of gold....

He made it on the 11th of March, as shown on the back...

We are both champing at the bit for summer to come, of whence we will go on many great adventures! I cannot wait to see what kinds of things were gonna do!

Every time he goes up north for work, our love grows stronger, cause its like an eruption of love and passion when he gets home after a shift. We are always happy to see each other, and give a BIIIIG Bear Hug! His daughter has really taken a liking to me too, and she is awesome! I'd love to get her into lego, as she is a really artsy crafty kinda girl. Hopefully we can get a build going when he comes back. We all built a General Grievous kit together, and had great fun doing so!

Here's to life, love and happiness!

I am eagerly awaiting his arrival home in two weeks. The weather should be RIGHTEOUS upon his return. Its been warm, and the snow is melting fast!
  17. Roa McToa
Ahhh, what a wonderful trip I am having! Getting to spend time with the family is SO AWESOME! My nephew is getting so big! He calls me Aunt Breann now, which is SO FREAKIN BOOYAH! I am stoked! Dad is doing well, as is the rest of the family. Its really fun here, and I need to make an effort to get down here more often to visit family. I really do miss them all.

Things are going well with Dean too! We talk everyday, and become ever so much closer. While I am having a great time here, and with BrickFest just around the corner, I can't wait to get back home. Something about home is just wonderful, especially now that Dean is in my life. I cherish him ever so much!

Heres to life, love and fun!

Oh, and I am going to get me a honda S90..... SO COOL! I got to ride a motorcycle for the first time evah and LOVED IT!
  18. Roa McToa
    It's meant to be

Never have I been so sure in my life when it comes to knowing a man. He is honorable, loving, caring and treats me with utmost respect. Never EVER have I had a man like him in my life. We are like two peas from the same pod that got separated at the pea factory, and then put back into the same bag together. We think alike, and truly love each other from the bottoms of our hearts.

We spent two romatic days together, cherishing every moment we could spend together, not sharing a kiss until the end of the first day.
I went to work as usual, and naturally, the anticipation was killing me. He showed up around 11:30, jumpoing out of his truck, and rushing inside as fast as he could. My boss, Rolf, was absolutely tickled pink when he saw that Dean was my "mystery date". He's known dean since he was a little boy, and speaks very highly of him. So, the bossman let me go for the day so i could spend it with my date.

We walked hand in hand on two different beaches, enjoying the beautiful sun that came out just for us. We picked up shells and enjoyed the fresh sea breeze. We then took a romantic stroll through the harbor down the docks, hand in hand, looking at the boats, and enjoying eachothers company. We even got to watch a sea otter munching happily on mussels not 4 feet away. It was a joy to watch it roll around in the water and chow down on the small shellfish *munchmunch*

We enjoyed a fulfilling lunch a the Smoke Shack, a breakfast/lunch restaraunt that's in an old alaska railroad train car. Very good food! Nummy nummy! he gave be a lovely malachite bracelet that he got while he was in Mexico. I wear it every day, it matches my eyes so well.

We then drove around town for a while, and it was like he was showing me off to the town. lol It was cool. He is very well respected here in Seward, and I know a lot of people were probably talking about us. Rumors spread quickly in a small town like this.

We then went over to my house, and I showed him my Bionicle and Lego stuff, which he was like BOOYAH! when he saw it. He is totally into what I build, and he used to build avidly as a child. He wants to start building again, and come to conventions with me! I cannot wait to bring him out of the dark ages! I know that his 6 yr old daughter Calysta would absolutely love to come over and play! I can't wait to meet her!

We played Nintendo a bit, and busted it out on the old school games for a while, and finished up the leftovers from lunch. We then went out for a coffee at one of the local art/coffee houses, and enjoyed each others company some more.

After that, we stopped and picked up some dinner at the store, and drove out to his house....

Where we played Metroid Prime 3 Corruption on the Wii for HOURS into the night.

Needless to say, we were totally smitten with each other even more by the end of the day.

The second day, we hung out after work, and had a grand time! I helped him get his tools back home, and we hung out and played more games, and just enjoyed our time.

He's really special, and Deep Down I know he is the one.

    I love him so much!

Here he is all suited up for work up north on the slope. He works on an offshore oil rig as a Roughneck Pusher, or Lead Roughneck. In other words, hes got minions to do his dirty work! The drilling equipment needs to be run and well maintained, and he is the GoTo guy!

I happened to thumb through my grandfathers recipe book a while ago, and I found an exerpt in there that speaks the truth so fine, that one could not take better advice as far as being happy in marriage.

I copied what was written, and have brought it here to share with you and your loved ones. Please take the time to read this, and do share it with your parents. They may find it a joy to read. I had to omit a few religious references so abide to the rules of BZPower, but ya get the jist.

Old Wisdom for all to share.

17 Points for a Happy Marriage

    1) - The very nearest approach to domestic happiness on earth is in the cultivation on both sides of absolute unselfishness.

    2) - Never both be angry at once.

    3) - Never speak loud to one another unless the house is on fire.

    4) - Let each one strive to yield oftenest to the wishes of the other

    5) - Let self denial be the daily aim and practice of each.

    6) - Never find fault unless it is perfectly certain that a fault has been committed and always speak lovingly.

    7) - Never taunt with a past mistake.

    8) - Neglect the whole world rather than each other.

    9) - Never allow a request to be repeated

    16) - Never forget that marriage is ordained by ****, and that **** blessings alone can make it what it should ever be.

17)-Never be contented till you know you are both walking in the same narrow way

I read this exerpt aloud with my Man, and we about cried afterward cause it felt so beautiful to share.

This could be the beginning of the rest of my life.

I have had boyfriends before, but this one....... just feels different. I have never felt this way about ANYONE in my life. We both feel like we have known eachother for along time, even though we met not all that long ago. I fee llike this is true love, not some pansy game. He may be the one for me, and me the one for him. I am crossing my fingers.

He arrives in town tomorrow. I cannot wait!
  21. Roa McToa
To mail in mocs for Brickfest! It is only a lil' more than a month away, and mocs need to be mailed in, and arrive in Portland by the 24th of March at the very latest.

Please read this NEWS STORY for more information.

I will be making trophies for four different categories, Large, Medium, Small and Micro mocs. I exclude myself from these awards simply cause I amthe one giving them out, and because I am the theme coordinator for Bionicle. So don't miss a chance to win a cool trophy, I might even toss in some extra parts for the winners.

So whatcha waiting for? Get Building!

I bumped this because it needed it! Please send in mocs for Brick fest! A new repot will be posted on the front page soon!

I may have finally found what I am looking for....

I recently met a local man named Dean. he is 33, and has a 6 yr old daughter (so awesome!). We met over the weekend on an online dating site (this was the first time I ever really signed up on one of those)

So he saw my profile and emailed me. Turns out, we have met in person before. He had come into the tool rental to rent the Golden Egg from us (its a giant beefy drain auger for sewer pipes) After looking at his pics, I recognized him immediately. We really didn't get much of an opportunity to talk at the time.

Well, now that we have been talking for the last few days, we are a tad smitten with eachother. Right now, he is in Mexico at his Cabana in Puerto Vallarta with his daughter visiting family during his 2 week off cycle from work on the slope. He works on an oil rig, and does a lot of mechanical work, and general maintenance. Must be nice to work a 2week on 2 week off schedule and make 100K a year...

He is coming back to Seward tuesday night, and is going to come into the shop on wednesday. If I am fortunate, Rolf will let me go and spend some time with him on a long lunch, or leave early from work. Dean is only in town a few days before he has to return to the slope for another two weeks, so we will try and make the best of our first few days.

I am really crossing my fingers on this one. He could be the real deal! Destiny has thrown us at eachother for a reason, I think its time to find out why! :3

    Wish me luck!
