  1. IC: [Olari, Royal Blindside, Pyramid Peak] The Matoran of her home often paid her similar compliments when she came soaring to their aid, shimmering and glittering in the sky, an angel of vengeful justice. Olari reacted to the...sentient bow's words the same way as she did to those Matoran. A benign smile and some kind words. "I thank you Emiya, though I cannot answer your question as there are no other Toa in my world." She turned her attention from bow to archer. "Woud you not make a good candidate for manning a watchtower? A ranged weapon, flight to easily withdraw the the entry below. How good is your lightcraft, could you weave an illusion over something to hide it from view?" IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff Stronghold] "I don't think you really have a choice." Venga grinned at Kotak, "I'm kind of your boss right now." "Sir, may I suggest that I create the bridge myself? Crystal is more resilient than ice, and in addition it doesn't melt" Since everyone else was berating the bigot, Venga addressed the volunteer. "Ah, it appears Kotak does have a choice. He can choose to go do nothing while our new number one guy here makes us a better bridge."
  2. IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff Stronghold] "Carrying others while also trying to fight and move at speed is not a good combination," Venga pointed out, "It would slow the fliers down, limit their manoeuvrability. Make them better targets. I'd recommend the fliers only fly themselves."
  3. IC: Bullseye's calls were answered, but not from inside the office. He had been early enough to catch Tridax before the Makuta had managed to reach his mysterious quarters. "What are you shouting about?" IC: Palma could do many things but there were no cures for emotional sickness. You could hide it, postpone it, but it wasn't something like poison that you could remove. She could do nothing for Rain, so instead went over to Draco and Vitesse, patching them up instead
  4. Font looks fine, it just stretches the screen. Kind of makes it a pain to read
  5. IC [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff Stronghold] "That assumes you have aerial superiority," Venga said, smoke billowing around his head, "It is highly likely the other team will have airborne of their own. Almost a guarantee in fact, I know there are several other Rahkshi in this tournment and I don't see them on this list. If you start trying to harass another team from the skies I suspect you will find your airspace becomes a lot more...crowded." He exhaled a puff of smoke, away from everyone else naturally. To do otherwise would be rude. "A team of fliers might be a good idea though. They can cover all terrain and quickly too. Perhaps we should consider the same deployment we're using for the mechs, have them as a mobile unit capable of reinforcing the others."
  6. IC: [Tuyetkhamun, Royal Blindside, Pyramid Interior] The God-Queen scowled as the sea of complaints rose around her. How dare they label her as much as a crippled degenerate as their current 'general'. Her condition affected her appearance only, it didn't render her unable to function in a major way, and was a proud reminder of her power and heritage! "Wretched ingrates wouldn't know authority if it tore their arms off and poked their eyes out with their own fingers should have them all fed to the scorpions would never have to put up with such disrespect in my own domain..." Her mutterings only became more rambling as she sulked at the back of the crowd IC: [Olari, Royal Blindside, Pyramid] "I am Olari the Iridescent, defender and champion of the Ihu Redoubt. As you already guessed my element is magnetism. My mask is an Akaku and my weapons are on my back." She looked over Tenjou and her odd appearance. "I confess I have no manner of guess to what your powers are." IC: [Turbo Vixen, Royal Blindside, Pyramid Interior] "List of fighters? Maybe the table does something clever." The Slizer started scanning it with her headgear, the visor taking in all the buttons and and fancy lights. She was familiar with technology, more so than her seven brethren at least, but this was new stuff to her. So fancy and dainty, much different to the clunky juggernauts of her own world. She looked back at kale for a moment, "Short of that I'd suggest getting everyone to form an orderly queue and just asking them one by one." IC: [Jorth, Royal Blindside, Pyramid Interior] The Toa of Flesh walked into the room, idly hanging around near the back but finding a spot he could see round the heads of everyone else. Other than the expected tiffs over leadership (hadn't this been exactly what happened with Muaka back in the underwater fight?) nothing really seemed to be happening. Well that was fine with him... IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff Stronghold] Venga's cigar was clamped between the plates of his facial armour, though with nothing to light it it remained simply wedged there. "Yes, planning! Did anyone have any ideas for out first move?"
  7. Not sure if this is just unreliable narrator at work, but you do know Tuyetkhamun never made any kind of move at A.D. right? Like, she didn't even get close to him. She just walked into the medbay, met with Dajik and then boom, Kelatin attacks. Like I said, possibly unreliable narrator, but if so that's really unreliable, exaggerated and stuffed with hyperbole
  8. IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Stronghold] "For the record I'd pick Donrioda," Venga piped up, "The drone to keep an eye on the kid or spot incoming threats, the Kakama to get the pair of them out of there in a hurry if need be." Recommendation made, he strode back over the Halken and Eryard, ready to input on any other manners of strategy IC: [Turbo Vixen, Blindside Army, Pyramid Interior] The squeaking of rubber on metal signalled Turbo propping herself up on the table map with her forewheels. she was looking at the display and Arkrax's projection, her visor recording it for later use. "I'd guess yeah, they're us. They're all clustered over the thing that's supposed to be the pyramid. Probably us. Looks like the other teams haven't moved much either." IC: [Jorth, Blindside Army, Pyramid Interior] Having got the hang of steering the Ebon Flow around, Jorth propped it up against one of the Pyramid's faces and headed inside, following the steady stream of people heading for the control room IC: [Tueytkhamun, Blindside Army, Pyramid Interior] "And why are we being led by an invalid?" Tuyetkhamun had finally reached the control node at the heart of the pyramid. Fun times for everyone would now ensue. "How is she fit to be a general if she cannot even read the map upon which she hopes to direct us? I demand someone more suitable be placed in charge. I nominate myself."
  9. IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff Stronghold] The Rahkshi shrugged. He still figured the kid would be a liability but he knew his place within a chain of command. Wouldn't do to disobey a direct instruction like that. "I'd recommend pairing her up then. Don't put her in a team, put her with one person. They can keep their attention entirely on her, letting her learn better and keeping her safer, and means any larger scale operations don't have to worry about her getting in the way."
  10. IC: "Your suit has not been brought here," Palma answered, relaxing her grip on Rain, "If you left it on the Crawler it will have been put in storage. If you left it on Visorak...then I'm afraid its still on Visorak." She saw the students, Draco and Vitesse, who needed help after what looked like some sort of brawl, but she couldn't leave to help them until she was sure her current patient wasn't going to kick up another storm
  11. IC: [Olari, Blindside Army, Pyramid] Having just flown around the desert to scout out the surroundings, Olari happened to know there was nothing as large and obvious as the pyramid itself for mio around. "I think we sort of lost the advantage of stealth the moment we had a giant pile of rock as our base. At least with someone on the top we can try and use it as an advantage, see the enemy coming before they realise and can get defences up." IC: [Turbo Vixen, Blindside Army, Pyramid Interior] Though there was another disk waiting in her arm, Turbo lowered it slowly, warily. While she would still like to take another shot at the eye-searing pile of meat in the room, everyone else would clearly stop her if she tried. "Okay. No attacking. But I would still like someone to tell me WHAT THE SEWERS IS IT?!" IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Stronghold] "Hmmm..." Venga stroked the elongated chin of his armoured muzzle as he thought, "Law and War share two letters but are very different things. An enforcer may be experienced but it might not be battlefield experienced. Unless he's some kind of outpost sheriff I might be tempted to have him stay here, play it defensive. Besides, we could use someone with decent stone powers to try and hold the cliff. Build us defences, wreck any stairs the enemy tries to build, and I'm not sure the younger one has the skill to do that. I'm not sure what to do with that one really. Throw him-sorry, her, at the enemy and see if she causes mass destruction in a tantrum?"
  12. IC: Palma fought her way through the winds and wisps of fog, reaching Rain's bed and planting a hand down over the kraata's head. She was squeezing a pair of nerves that should cause a very distracting pain, pain that would only get worse the harder she squeezed. "You are going to stop this tantrum. Or a missing suit will be the least of your problems." OOC: If anyone else has any staff-related posts they need re-lies to, would you mind giving me a link here or in the discussion topic? I've not had as much time this week as I normally have so I'm having to skim things a little
  13. IC: [Turbo Vixen, Blindside Army, Pyramid] Kelatin's directions were followed in real time, Turbo's speed turning the labyrinth into a whistle-stop blur of sandstone and moss. When she reached the control room her visor highlighted the various beings gathering outside but she didn't catch on as to why until she zoomed inside. "Holy pollution what is that thing!" A disk materialised in her arm, and she flung it at the tentacled mass that was Kelatin with vicious speed IC: [skrall, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff] Standing a little over from Naona and Alisa, Skrall was observing the terrain. It reminded him a little of the Black Spike mountains, his home. Not quite...spiky enough. But it was close. He looked up at the storm clouds blackening the sky above. He wondered if they would bring rain. Rain could be a hindrance in this, making it trickier to spot anyone trying to scale the cliff in secret. But on the other hand it would make it trickier to actually scale the cliff in the first place...
  14. So, question about the maps in the strongholds: How much detail do they convey? For a start are they regular maps or some sort of holographic display? If they're holographic can we zoom in on certain details? Could we get a close up of the pyramid interior to try and lead our guys through its maze from afar? They're capable of showing who is present in the arena, are they just little coloured dots or can we get full body shots? Do they tell us the name of who we're looking at, or their full powerset and profile? Relating to my first point slightly, but since the maps can change in real time to show troop movements do they show changes in the environment? For example if we were to redirect the water from the cove into the field for whatever reason would the map show that? And how are the people around the nodes communicating with the generals and lieutenants? Since you've said there's psychic shields around the stronghold I'm assuming there's some sort of transmitter built into the node with earpieces for the three leaders?
  15. IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff] As Eryard went to deal with the mech fighters, Venga stayed behind to read up on the troops under their control, and view the map. "These Naonas will be useful," He said, "A decent stone Toa is better than any siege weapon if it comes to it. And they can help shore this place up. Doing something about those tunnels so no-one has a direct line to us would be handy." IC: [Jorth, Blindside Army, Pyramid] "Thank you!" The Ebon Flow stumbled a bit before one of its tentacles split into two to give it greater balance on the soft sands, "Designed it myself!" IC: [Olari, Blindside Army, Pyramid] The Fa-Toa soared back to the pyramid after roaming the skies around the desert. She hadn't spotted anything but dunes, but it had felt good to just fly uninhibited again... She saw a few beings congregated around the very top of the pyramid and angled to whoosh towards them before pulling up to a standing position in front of them. "If we could fortify that a little it would make an excellent watch tower," she said, "Gives a good view of the surroundings." IC: [Turbo Vixen, Blindide Army, Pyramid] And if the sand outside wasn't bad enough there was a bloody maze inside! Turbo had made some progress through it, decided she could be bothered, and returned to the entrance to wait and sulk. Then Kelatin's voice rang out, having found the control room. "Hey, mysterious voice!" she shouted out, "Some directions for me would be nice!"
  16. ToaKapura, feel I should point out that a hat is not going to stop an arrow. Unless that hat is made of metal and is inches thick. Arrows are not finger pokes Approved
  17. IC: As the last of the students trailed back into the academy, and the wake of Grossh's speedboat faded into its last bubbles as Juleeka fled back to Nynrah, Tridax finally made his reappearance. A portal opened up on the beach near the Causeway, for a moment letting through the smell of the jungle and the howls of something very angry. Tridax stepped through and swiftly closed it behind him, wiping goo off his arms. Which just left the rest of him also covered in goo and ichor. "Where the Irnakk have you been!" Emerging from the Crawler, Suvak stormed over to the Makuta, "Where were you while we were being overrun!" Tridak looked down on Suvak, and those looking from a distance would be unsire whether he was subtly altering his height and the blackness of his shadow or whether this was just the force of his personality coming to the fore. "I was in the northern jungles, stopping you from being overrun hours before the Oohnorak managed it. Or did you think the Keelerak weren't going to notice a neighbouring swarm on the move? I spotted their movements and headed off their advance." He wiped some more of what was now apparently Visorak innards off his torso, "I was doing what I could to prevent you being attacked from all sides by two swarms. So I apologise if one or two smaller matters may have escaped my notice, but as I recall..." He leaned down to face Suvak eyes to eye, and there was no mistaking that he had definitely elongated himself slowly enough to escape immediate notice, stretching out like a shadow in the sunset, so that his crouching caused him to arch over like some bird of prey, "...the smaller matters were what you were supposed to be watching for." He uncoiled back into an upright posture, rigorous application of his ice resistance powers burning off the last of the encrusted gore, and strode away, stalking off towards his office, leaving Suvak fuming behind him
  18. IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff] "So, what, we lob it into the centre of one of the other teams and hope they start tearing each other apart?" Venga leant in to study the gem a little closer "Sort of depends on them all conveniently grouping together doesn't it?" IC: [Jorth, Blindside Army, Pyramid] "I also apologise if I-" One of the Ebon Flow's tentacles, currently numbering at eight, sent off a jolt of lightning, a sparking trail that fortunately didn't go anywhere near Yoko "...that."
  19. New Hakrii is approved. And for the record, no, antidermis would not be considered a poison
  20. IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff] "Sounds like a gig I could go for. Sure, I'd be up for that," Venga agreed, "What information do we have to go on? Even I'm not battle-hungry enough to charge into something this scale blind. And for the record, Eryard, I am a Rahkshi. We are the best and thats all you really need to know." OOC: Hey Construct, Jorth is interacting with Yoko, looks like you missed it
  21. IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff] He perked up as he heard his name mentioned. Wandering what the deal was here, Venga stalked over to the Skakdi in the fancy coat. "You called?" IC: [Jorth, Blindside Army, Pyramid] Sand billowed up in clouds around Yoko as the Ebon Flow squirmed into position around it. "Hey, sorry about this, still getting the hang of the controls!" Jorth called out from within, his mech's systems projecting his voice out so he could be heard
  22. IC: Calls from Punch, calls from Fang, calls from Dakilik, calls from Shark...Palma visited everyone in turn, dealing what help she could to those who needed it. She was already tired and maybe didn't spend as long as she could on some injuries, preferring to clear up the most pressing of injuries but everyone got seen to in the end OOC: Basically if you want to say Palma didn't quite fix an injury up all the way and left you with some cool battle-scars, there's your excuse
  23. Whats this calculating ability Hakrii has? Thought she was just really good at valuing stuff, but it says she can tell people's names. Sounds like she's got some sort of psychometry going in there, or an ability to read this topic for profiles. Going to need a bit more detail on this past life thing too. Sort of feel like it may be used as an excuse to suddenly be good at anything you want her to be good at because she had training before that she just doesn't consciously remember now. Because I don't think I've ever seen that "unknown, probably grimdark, backstory" trope used any other way, unfortunately. Karzfire seems okay though, he's approved
  24. IC: [Olari, Blindside Army, Pyramid] Olari staggered to her feet, her meditation rudely interrupted by the sudden teleportation to a scorching desert. The usual holographic bluster from the Host cleared some things up, as did Kale's instructions. She remembered Kale from the Mahri Nui round, he seemed a good choice to have in a leadership role. Better than some titan of ego and arrogance, that was for sure. She took to the air, flying up through the clear blue sky an started scouting out their home territory. If there was something around here other than desert she wanted to know. Could be some sneaky way of bypassing the temples defences, a hidden tunnel or drilling machine or something, that was just lying in wait for another team to use. But she wasn't going to give them a chance to do that IC: [Jorth, Blindside Army, Pyramid] Jorth listened to the Host and Kale only as much as he needed to get the specifics of what this place was and what they were doing here. Yadda yadda teams, yadda yadda control, yadda yadda try not to die horribly as always. The reason for his divided attention was sitting in the sand a few bio away from him. Those guys in engineering really worked fast. "By the spirit. Its beautiful." He walked up to the Ebon Flow, looking for the entry to the cockpit. He'd never used the Flow, or anything like it, before. He was going to need practice... IC: [Tuyetkhamun, Blindside Army, Pyramid] Tuyetkhamun looked around at the sudden change in scenery. Hmm, it was almost like being back home. She stalked past the other members of her team to head inside the pyramid. If it was a good enough reproduction then she might have to find a way to make this setting of the arena permanent when she took over IC: [Turbo Vixen, Blindside Army, Pyramid] "Argh! Sodding sand!" Turbo's wheels were kicking up plumes of the stuff as she tried moving through the environment that was the home turf of Blindside. Muttering under her breath she gestured with her arm, and a sheet of metal appeared before her, leading to the pyramid and its interior. She managed to lever herself onto the makeshift ramp and starting rolling inside OOC: Olari, Jorth, Tuyetkhamun and Turbo Vixen all open for interaction IC: [Venga, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff] Venga smiled as the newest of rounds started up. On a Rahkshi this was a particularly unsettling expression. He started walking around the cliff, looking to see if it had more than met the eye. Hidden traps or foldable stairways or something like that. Might have sounded a bit ridiculous, but this was a world in which they could make such a cliff appear out of nowhere. They could put hidden traps in it if they wanted IC: [skrall, Tahtorak's Fist, Cliff] The Skrall warrior stood idly by as the announcements were issued by the Host's image. After it was done, he went seeking out this Lord Halken. He was now the leader. He was whom would give him instructions OOC: Skrall and Venga open for interaction
  25. If this issue is absolutely not up for debate, then fine. I do have to know, though: Am I overestimating his speed or underestimating Rahkshi flight speed? By the sounds of it I think you're overestimating Kakarahk. He can run faster than normal, he doesn't have any superspeed powers, which to me looks like how you've been thinking of it I actually have not been assuming any superspeed powers. With the proper equipment, humans can go 25 mph. I'm not being quite that extreme with Kakarahk, but still. You've been continually insisting (and still seem to be, in fact) that Kakarahk should be outrunning someone in flight despite the fact I have repeatedly stated that the flyer is faster. Thats like arguing a plain old regular human could outrun a motorbike. It ain't going to happen by normal means, which makes me think you've imagined his greater speed as a legitimate superpower. It is not.
