  1. OOC: Tayis from Ko-Wahi IC: Tayis He and Zieta eventually reached the Tren Krom break, the barrier between Ko and Ta-Wahi. After spending months in Onu-koro, and an unexpected overnight jaunt in the Ko-Wahi drifts, the heat coming from below felt rather unpleasant. "Where do you want to start looking for this Vex guy then?" he asked Zieta, uncomfortably. He was trying to demoralise Zieta in the hopes she would give up on her kamikaze goals, but he was acutely aware that whether she knew it or not, Valuki had told him that Vex was in Ta-koro. He did not want things to get ugly.

  3. Glad to see some of the stuff from that big tracker ticket is being pushed through. Some interesting mergers as well. I believe I was the first person in the ticket to suggest merging Music & Movies, but I suggested putting it back in General Art. Will be interesting to see whether we get more movies and stuff with it in Fan created games.
  4. laptop 99% of the time. I'll use my mobile if I don't have access to the laptop, which is mainly when I'm away from home.
  5. I quite liked it as it appeared in Bionicle heroes, though it's final form is certainly most iconic.

  8. Oh boy, oh boy! I'll definitely enter the BBC part of this contest, being the only area where I have remotely any skill. Difficult place to put myself though, so many talented MOCists on this forum, and with such an open theme, I suspect this will draw in pretty much all of them.
  9. Pretty sure they're tan heads, and also I think it could be normal mata blue. There are also gold pieces on one of them, which are curious because it looks like the 2006 pearl gold, rather than the darker gold that was used back then. It is hard to tell though, the lighting in the picture isn't brilliant. Here is the picture, just to save anyone reading this the trouble of googling it. I don't think there are any other pictures.
  10. I'd imagine they do exist, but they'll be hand in hand with the prototype Manas. If I owned such a thing, I wouldn't sell the masks individually. If I was a collector I wouldn't separate the masks from the set either. An individual transparent Rau as part of a collection would be cool, but there are only going to be 2 masks for that one prototype manas, which is a desirable thing in itself, and they should stay together.
  11. I don't think anything Lego can do will appeal to the current fans of Bionicle anymore. The story is what we like, but it's too complex for new audiences, so Lego are missing out on a much larger market. My only hope for the future of Bionicle is that Greg will some day take the time to finish the serials. Unlikely, but that's all I want anymore. Completion. Of course, Lego might revive it. But if they do, it will be have to be set far from the current story, so as to avoid having to use the previous story to explain too much. New fans aren't going to want to delve through a decades convoluted plot. An alternative to this would be a 100% reboot. Lego bring out the original sets, probably in a new more modern form, similar to the HF system, and do a story retelling, allowing Greg to iron out any of the contradictions the storyline had originally. Its an unlikely alternative and it's flawed. What drew fans into Bionicle was the story, and if its a retelling of the story, then there's never any mystery of what's going on. I'd be surprised if they chose to do this, I'd think it would be a pretty poor business choice. Most likely scenario is that Lego bring back the Bionicle name alone, perhaps with some characters like Takanuva appearing as battlehardened and experienced characters, whose past isn't relevant to the new plot.
  12. Used to play a lot with Nuhrii, Orkahmn and Vhisola. Years back though. I guess some of my general fiddling could constitute playing these days though. And if you build a MOC with wings or jet engines, who can really resist making it fly about just a bit?
  13. I've never had problems with ball joint pinching. Worst pain I get is back pain from being hunched on the floor all the time.
  14. Having been away for a week, I hit a new high of 46 notifications. I still don't see how people can have notifications in the thousands, or at least how that can be worthwhile.
  15. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] [10] I couldn't just let myself tear him apart, I had to upgrade him some more. The lower torso is a stud wider than before, and I prefer the new armour. The torso build has been fleshed out a bit, and is now a lot less flimsy. I've also added a heartlight. The legs are pretty similar to how they were before, but slightly taller. I also widened the knees to fit two ball joints in, so they were less floppy. The thighs have completely different armour. The arms are completely redone. They no longer have the Kanohi Rode there, as I disliked the shoulder finns. As a result the arms look a little less bulky, but the flow to the body I think is much nicer.

  17. I'd like to think I make sufficient an impact on the forums that people would notice that I'd gone on holiday for a week, but that's probably wishful thinking. Anyway, I've been in Cornwall for the week. Most of it was beaches, playing pool, and having to drive far too much. The one day I'll cover in slight detail is Friday, or at least I think it was Friday. Me and my friends went to Truro. While walking about the shopping area, my eyes were drawn to Hawkin's Bazaar, mainly as I thought the chain had gone bust. It's certainly closed down where I live. Anyway, inside the store, I saw a Lego-like display. What it actually was, was this. Sorry for the not particularly brilliant pictures, my friends wanted to leave the shop so I was in a hurry, and I was only using my phone as well. The sets themselves resemble the Lego system, but thats not unheard of. What was fascinating is taking a closer look at those cans on the top shelf. Here you can see a very close resemblance to the Visorak canisters. VERY close. They're £5 each, so they're cheaper than Lego. The set only bares a very vague similarity to Bionicle though. There's a couple more pics here. The other highlight of Truro was seeing this place.
  18. Certainly shows the evolution of the minifig, but the list is somewhat incomplete still. I don't recall seeing super battledroids there for example. I think some of the dating is wrong as well, as I'm sure (to name just a couple of examples) battle droids and Hagrid came much earlier than 2006. I guess there also difficulties as to what classifies as a minifigure. There's a complete lack of the Bionicle playsets, and the Xalax lego racers drivers. But do any of those count as minifigures? I would've thought so. Still, looking at some of the earlier minifigures has given me a lot of nostalgia regarding a castles set I used to play with at my grandparents. Seeing the minifigures made me look it up, and I never realised it was from as far back as 1984, a full decade before I was born. What's perhaps more boggling is seeing how much this set costs from new today. The list also reminded me of the existance of lines I'd forgotten ever existed, specifically Lego studios. There were 4 minifigs for that theme I recognised, and it sure takes me back.
  19. This is really good, but I feel the one piece torso armour doesn't do it justice. The mutation looks great, but I feel if the torso had more complex armour, you could have the mutation eat into the torso a bit. As it stands now, the mutation is localised completely to the left arm and left leg. The build itself looks solid though, and the mutation really does look brilliant outside of the fact it misses the torso. I like the use of the mask (Or helmet, forgive me, I'm not an HF guy ) on the right shin as well.
  20. It's very generous of the project creator to give there 1% to charity. I feel Lego could've done there bit too, and at least equalled another 1% there. 1% profit on a set like this isn't going to amount to much money I would've thought, but who knows?
  21. Thought I'd post seeing as this forum is seriously in need of love. The shape of these is both really good, but I reckon they both have too many different colours. Not so much the convoy, the bricks in the base of it could be matching colours though. The brown and red parts on the gunship would be better in one of the other colours. I also think it's a little flat, but there is a fine line with that, as its very easy to make it look strangely thick. Certainly the middle of it could be thicker, but the wings are good.
  22. I played through twice, the second time was a lot quicker. Once you know where stuff is its very simple, but on the first play I resorted to clicking around randomly. This eventually got me the one hidden in the stalactite for Onua, the one hidden in the seaweed for Gali and the one hidden in the leaves for Lewa. Other than that everything was the right level of difficulty to find, although I agree with Click that it could get a little frustrating when you see the mask and can't get it, at least until you find the tool for it. The artwork is beautiful, really reminiscent of MNOG. I like the way matoran appear in each scene, but never the same one coming back, they keep changing, and we see a lot of familiar faces. Did you think of including the Turaga? The diversity in the Rahi that appear is also brilliant, you've got both ones we saw all the time in MNOG, and some less common ones.
  23. He's not bulky for your MOCs, but he is bulky for an interpretation of Ehlek. Just adding on to what I said earlier about him, I think perhaps he's a bit too humanoid as well. Ehlek as a set was almost on all fours, this revamp is very much upright. What I'm kind of seeing now is a Chro-style Toa, cosplaying as Ehlek. To get a more of the original look back, I think the torso needs to be slightly shorter, so that the spines can flow into the back of the head. Perhaps more difficult will be to make the spines flow into the tail as well, which is a good addition. A bit more of a hunch on him as well would be good, to give a less humanoid look.
  24. You've given Kalmah a much more streamlined, fluid, aquatic look than the original set, which is really the perfect thing to do. The legs are perhaps a little bulky for that look, I'd expect the feet to perhaps be kind of like flippers or something. I think perhaps Kalmah's original feet would have been better. As for Ehlek, the only one of the Barraki who was always part of an aquatic species, you've moved it the other way, and from a storyline perspective that perhaps doesn't work. I think you perhaps tried to bulk him out a bit too much. The lower legs look very boxy as well. Again I think the wrong choice of feet. Those inika feet you've used just don't look very fishy (trying to avoid using the word aquatic again ). As MOCs alone, these are both up to your usual good standard, but I don't think they match up well to the actual characters.
  25. Here I voted for Arpy's game hen. It's unique in this contest, a brilliant take on the theme, and its well made and delicious looking.
