  1. I get the impression that those people who were crying for a continuation last year are this year the doom and gloom prophets. They wanted a continuation, they found a reboot. They spent twelve months trying to make the reboot a continuation, and when the fact of the reboot became undeniable, they went into full-on denial without quitting the franchise. See also: the people who fail to differentiate Pohatu Nuva from Pohatman.
  2. '15 Ekimu is awkward since he has no open spots that would work. I could remove a shoulder armour and have him raise his arm, but that just makes it look odd. What I did is took a 3-hole beam, two half studs and a pin/axle piece to make something that Ekimu can hold in his hand and the falcon can sit on. Like so. Here's Doomerak for size comparison. And regular Umarak. So it does work on '15 Ekimu, but you need to remove his shield to accommodate the falcon at the very least.
  3. Is there a CCBS bone that has a ball on both ends instead of a ball-and-socket?
  4. Let us know what parts are in the final list.
  5. Agori Alliance vs Golden Skakdi Army. Dark Hunters recruit Bone Hunters and Miserix sits on a high mountain making huge rahi.
  6. Bigger battery; Toa and Turaga have larger amounts of elemental energy running through them, which I imagine can keep them going.
  7. One of the GBs' more reliable failsafes. If the Matoran turned out nasty, they could just remove the mask and the Matoran would be rendered inoperable. Remember, the Matoran were built before the GSR and maybe even before the Shattering. Many were built within the GSR and built to make the GSR, but Takua was built before. The GB who designed the First Matoran, AKA Takua was likely more practical than a lot of his comrades, so his failsafe was simple, effective, and didn't pose a danger to anyone else. *cough*Marendar*cough*Ignika*. My personal headcanon is the Matoran were made as helpers for the Agori/Great Beings, until they learned the Shattering was about to happen and repurposed them as worker drones for the GSR. So if the Shattering had never happened, the Agori would have been living happily side-by-side with servant Matoran. Whether Toa or Turaga would have existed is a different question.
  8. Keetongu's still a Rahi. Teridax could probably order the local Makuta to box one up and send it to him. Or Keetongue was officially an Archives specimen.
  9. You'll need something to catch the air with; a parachute or glider board.
  10. Miserix, the Last Makuta, is still out there somewhere in his dragon form.
  11. I want the hawk. It'll go great with '15 Ekimu too.
  12. My über-MoC has gotten children interested in Bionicle when I've taken it to class for display purposes. Essentially, "that one's daddy's. But let's see if you can make something cooler." *hands parts box*
  13. They'd probably figure out most customs pretty quickly, but their robotic designs would probably make physical intimacy of any level beyond hugs and snuggling rather more incomprehensible.
  14. Well, there wasn't until someone decided to go and make the (terrible) movie designs the canonical depictions - but circa 2001, you're totally right.I'm sorry, the what? Bionicle had a movie? Don't they know that the sets are highest canon? Seriously though, I'd expect that the individual elements had slight variations in Metru Nui and the rest of the MU, let alone different genders; Onu-Matoran made themselves stockier, Le-matoran aimed for taller, Ga-Matoran slimmer and more hydrodynamic. The gender differences were more tribal than anything. Metru Nui must have had a thriving body-modding industry for those who wanted to stand out from the crowd.
  15. You're only getting rep for the C&H reference.
  16. I know it's a hot button issue, but let's look at it with a mature view of the entire spectrum; can you get feminine men? Yes. Can you get masculine women? Yes. There's practically no sexual dimorphism in Matoran, so a grey-armoured newmade matoran who hasn't been assigned a tribe would be by our standards, gender-neuter.
  17. Thanks. I reckoned it would have been strange having six different Matoran Makers in Metru Nui, when having one that made a 'Ge-Matoran' that could gain the abilities of their assigned element over time would be more efficient.
  18. Wonder how that held up when the guy reappeared two months later with the same mask and job.
  19. The video of mata nui cracking asunder as the GSR stood up for the first time. Easy.
  20. Also, we're pretty much in the dark as to Matoran ages. Hewkii and Macku could be relatively young and so have the 'latest OS'. More importantly though, we know a lot of matoran alive now were alive before sentience was granted; it could be expected that they'd develop their individual personality quirks slowly. Evolution in the strictest sense takes place between generations; there can't have been more than three generations of matoran in the GSR.
  21. All those would be fairly interesting periods for a series of fanfics to explore; how long it took for the "toa as gods" to become "toa as people".
