  1. I'm not sure whether printing makes me more or less interested... A giant, glowing blue Ekimu against an Upgraded (Possessed?) Umarak makes me wonder if we're not going to see another finale where the Toa take on the Mooks while Ekimu does the actual hero work. I liked last year's ending, but pulling the same thing twice would really devalue it.
  2. Seconded. A trans-purple Ekimu-sized Makuta would be a great little set.
  3. Entirely transblue? Ehh... I like solid gold as the 'power colour' with trans being the energy beneath. Entirely trans feels like they're trying to hard. It has to look better in person.
  4. Soft reboots, hard reboots flaccid reboots, who cares? A likely twist would be a Metru G2i that was once on Okoto, with the City of the Mask Makers being the ruins of that. The restored MoT takes the current inhabitants back thousands of years to the beginning of the Island City to start all over again and begin the legends that were around in 2015's story.
  5. I can just see the young villagers pulling the end of his Huna-beard.
  6. I now picture Umbra blundering into a temporary shelter made for the ignika and attempting to threaten everyone there before realizing that they're just sitting looking at or talking to the ignika rather than trying to use it, lowering his weapon and going. "Well, then" and sitting down in the crowd.
  7. I got the same impression. It was less abandonment and more King Arthur. My post-JE headcanon has Takanuva and the Av-Matoran creating and maintaining a shrine for the Ignika where they would talk to the mask, ask advice, and graduate new Toa/Glatorian under its gaze. Sorta like some RL cultures do for their ancestral shrines, where they include and acknowledge the dead at certain meals or times of the year.
  8. I remember the MNOG's head waggles and machine sounds. It made enough sense to me that I believed the movies were all operating on Translation Convention, and all the dialogue was really some mechanical whirrs and buzzes.
  9. That would be the first family we've seen in bionicle. Even if it's not a biological family, it certainly shares the structure. Here's something else; the narration leaves the gender of Narmoto's spouse up to debate. Who else sees space for a bit of gender diversity in the fictional biomechanical children's toyline robots?
  10. The only inika mask power that made sense to me was Nuparu's Mask of Flight. Inappropriate for a cave Toa? Yeah, but the irony was still playing off a theme. Like if Kongu had gotten the Mask of Gravity (Make other things unable to fly) or Jaller the Mask of Night Vision (could light the place up with fire anyway).
  11. Nope. Just the internet and too much Avatar:TLA. The Toa Code specifically prohibits killing. Fire: Defensive uses like burning projectiles is cool, but consider that you could knock someone out with heatstroke or burning away all the oxygen near them. Water: could blind someone as well. Wrap a hollow sphere of water around their heads and suddenly they're looking through blur. Air: Hand blasts? OK, how about fouling up enemy attacks or even trapping them under high winds?
  12. Easter Egg for us old people from G1?
  13. You know that doesn't answer the question, right? Except for Arceus, Dialgia, Palkia and Giratina, most of the legendaries' uniqueness is up for debate. Even Mewtwo might have a second example. These creatures might have a similar sort of place in the mythos, but they're very definitely unique.
  14. It might just refer to them as masks because of the way they go over the Toa's heads/masks. But it's also possible they are masks. Leads you to wonder what the creatures' heads look like if that's true, since they aren't represented in the sets. But it's worthwhile to keep in mind that product descriptions aren't always accurate to the story and might just be describing the parts from a design standpoint, same as how the faceplates of Nitroblast and XT4 are identified as masks despite not really having "heads" they fit over.I actually think it would've been cooler to have masks as well. Maybe make it so that the masks could clip on to the new toa masks. These are testing the water for the clip-together Mask of Time next year. The Masters' masks that year can also clip together with the MoT. More Pure speculation, mods. Don't censor me. Edit: Please use spoiler tags for storyline spoilers only. Converted to 'more' tag. -Wind-
  15. I gave my Ekimu set blue eyes. Though I doubt I'll leave him assembled for much longer. I want to put the MoCr next to the MoCo on my "Mask Hunter" MoC with the other gold masks.
  16. Early Installment Weirdness. We never got much of an answer there. I doubt BS01 even has anything... *checks* Nope. Nothing.
  17. Speak for yourself. That makes me think about there being a 'face shower' or maskless subculture in bionicle, where villagers walk around without their masks and everyone regards them as kinda crazy. *looks up at mod cameras*,Am I allowed to mention the real-world parallel, or let people figure it out from context?
  18. Wouldn't the opposite conclusion be more likely? They haven't got exclusive information to sell it to the old crowd, and the new kids are just like "Bionicle! ZOMG" and buy it anyway. It's cheap for the same reason they have placeholder masks and colour-shifted protectors.
  19. I mean, he was a powerful being that controlled their universe that they were obligated to serve. That makes him either an overlord or a deity. Since he was pleasantly hands off and apparently benevolent, deity is the natural conclusion.
  20. - BiosectorIncreased. Not light speed. Increased speed. I refuse to believe bionicle g1 physics are that soft. Maybe he 'catches' light behind him to go faster, like a turbo. Maybe like a light sail?Closest analogue I could think of.
  21. One Toa with a Hau and another with a Kakama getting real close can make a unstoppable cannonball.
  22. *mud across the face* "You're annoying me, and interrupting my nap."
  23. - Biosector Increased. Not light speed. Increased speed. I refuse to believe bionicle g1 physics are that soft. Maybe he 'catches' light behind him to go faster, like a turbo.
  24. I'm pretty sure he's not a Toa of Space. Moving at light speed is likely to kill him, just from wind "resistance" flaying him alive. Secondly, how does moving his organs at light speed (where to?) not kill him immediately? It might be gone for a second, but that's all you need for a stroke. Finally, Takanuva can't move at light speed. He has control over light, he doesn't have the properties of light. Otherwise Gali would be an unbuildable bunch of melted blue parts. He can, however, fire lasers from his hands, make visual illusions, and disappear.
  25. Fire and water Toa throwing chunks of ice by combining their powers. Fire Toa flying by controlled bursts of their power. Heck, any Toa throwing enough quantities of their element down can 'fly' or at least hurl themselves through the air. Water, Jungle and Stone/Earth Toa can 'push' off their favoured terrain, and Air Toa can 'push' off the air itself.
