  1. "from light, into being" this is impressive! i've noticed you have a knack for how bionicle shapes fit together to make something generally seamless, the head, in my opinion is set a little low into the shoulders, but i think that's more me being picky than anything inherently wrong. x: the light construct thingies are also neat!
  2. IC: Rose [Refectory] As the fight drew to a close, rose bounced back up giggling with glee, what perfect violence, shame neither of them died! "boy th-th-that one-armed guy s-sure took a bea-ting!" she chirped to noone and everyone, stretching a bit as she got up.
  3. given corpus has a gym, every student should be described this way tbh, we've all been playing wrong...
  4. ah yes, ekimu was not often known for his days as the protector of stone...
  5. and people said we wouldn't get a sequel to JtO... (kidding, but still)
  6. 2015 was the best year of bionicle ever tbh.

    1. Tarn

      Tarn

there was so much excitement and new stuff, it was like the old days again, not just of bzp but the bionicle fanbase in general

  7. can i mention that my favorite thing is this whole game is probably how rahkshi just... casually summon forges from the gym the gym they make forges in it, simply because they can and nobody seems to bat an eye(plate) at it, it's amazing and i never want it to stop tbh.
  8. On the current fist? Nowhere I can think of. On a new hand piece? Probably the palm. Imagine a hand piece without fingers that has a bar for things like Exo-Force arms to clip onto to serve as fingers and thumb. It has a pin or axle hole through the palm for weapon attachments. That's the dream hand right there. thought a doodle might be relevant, since that's my thing: yes? no? idk, kinda a mix concept of the current fist, a y-socket, the beast foot, and the droid torso, has a hole all the way through the palm and a hole on either side to attach a thumb-swivel assembly, could use chima claw, exo-force arms, or some new skinnier finger? Pros: is detailed, poseable, probably scaled a bit better than current custom styles Cons: might be too fragile? probably adds too many pieces for smaller sets to use (five parts a hand)
  9. That's not irony, that's Google Ads tracking pages you're looking at and putting up ads that match the pages' contents. also that's not what "ironic" means anyways, that'd be a coincidence if it wasn't google What an ironic coincidence!
  10. That's great to hear, I was hoping I'd described her right! Yeah I see what you mean, that sorta twisted and wiry look, it is a good one >o> thanks! If there's one thing i do, it's draw people just standing there, so i try to portray a little bit of the character when i do, and/or add a little flair to the pose, in case i ever decided to draw that same person just standing there again later!
  11. I didn't even get to do anything yet and i'm still kickin!
  12. the use of bows and hammers is refreshing to me, given they were two of the weapons gen1 never used, certainly beats a myriad of dual-swordsmen!
  13. Yeah i don't think anyone doesn't know about Corpus Rahkshi by now, it's pretty fun, Anyway here's one of my rahkshi, she's awful. Bonus Human Rose cuz i'm boring. (you think with how much i draw i'd make more art topics here but i guess bionicle is just harder to draw? huh)
  14. IC: Rose [Refectory] Sliver seemed to have ignored her from there on out, and she couldn't think of where to find any real food herself, but Rose wasn't complaining, it seemed a fight had started up while she was waiting, and rahkshi fighting was aaaaaalways entertaining! She had lept up to sit on a nearby tabletop, focusing intently to see who would win and who would lose... (OOC: Rose OFI near poly and vaalku) IC: Snap (Library) Her gaze followed his gesture to the figure, "yeah" she quipped under her breath "something up with him?" (OOC note: this is Snap a little while in the PAST, because i am dumb and lost track of time and sepulchral left and this is the best solution i have that doesn't make her look uncharacteristically braindead.)
  15. Okay so, i am ready to get back into it BUT, i had two rahkshi doing things that they can no longer be doing because one or more factors happened, what should i do? timeskip or just continue from where i left off? (context: Rose was with sliver, things have happened there but she has not moved, Snap was being directed in the direction of sepulchral, who has since moved, oops)
  16. well i mean that, at a base, an element is best with minimal overlap, so in review of bases: Fire: creates/controls combustion/flame, Ice: creates/controls cold/frost Water: creates/controls liquid water Air: creates/controls gasses Stone: controls stones (may create stones?) Earth: controls the ground, no precedent for creating it so far Iron: creates and controls metals, like refined protodermis Magnet: creates/controls magnetic fields (overlaps with metal, but in a really weird way, it is probably one of the more stressful elements to try and think about) Gravity: similar to magnet, create/controls gravity wells, again, a little trickier to use than "make and throw rocks" Plasma: creates/controls streams and orbs of blazing plasma, but can't control any flames or combustion this results in, probably not a smart one to use where fire would do the job better, but potentionally more situationally useful? Jungle: creates/controls plant matter, obviously a little more abusable than "fire" given how many complex forms plant matter manifests in, but might also take more concentration to balance that? Lightning: no brainer, controls/sparks electricity, duh Sonics: creates/controls kinetic energy waves... uh yeah, that's another odd one, but no overlap! Psion: can't create or control anything, can maybe control brains if they really wanted to, objectively the least elemental toa there is, i admit fair evidence for crystal as a concept, but it would, of course, discount crystalline minerals from iron, stone, and earth, and probably can't control ice, which is a crystal, so of proposed concepts crystal can pass in bionicle i guess? (tr-purple/white colorscheme?) but things like "animals" or "computers" fall more in line with kanohi powers than element powers (justlikepsiondoes) so yeah, an element can be a lot of creative stuff, but the base concepts need to be far enough apart, ice/water are scientifically comparable, but are often considered fairly separate in most people's minds, feel free to point out any i may have missed/gotten wrong! (or if i should have gone over nontoa elements but...)
  17. Biggest misconception I made as a child was thinking the writing for Bionicle was good :v (honestly though everything i got just loops back round to the shoddy writing scheme: "this is blue so it's a girl cuz that's how it goes, right?" = wrong, he's evil so he is not. "rahi are like animals, they eat things and have live young" = nah, every single rahi is made in a rahi factory because greg thinks even implying birth will send children down a road to perversion and lets not get started on young-me thinking "oh, magic cyborg men, that doesn't need an in-depth explanation to make any sense at all..." ohhh boy...)
  18. hmm, i still lean on the side of "less is more" since depending on how you look at it, the coveted "crystal" overlaps with a grand 3-4 other elements already, and that's kinda absurd for a guy who can, at most, make pointy rocks show up. 0:
  19. a cute rotational symmetry thing, like a lot of ocean life! O: plus the colors are really pretty here
  20. yaaa, this too! psion toa have access to powers like mind reading and suggestion which if you didn't know were also, fancy that, kanohi powers! feel a little redundant yet? no other element does this (excusing the kanohi garai but that mask is a questionable mess as is) alongside the mentioned "isn't really a natural thing?? thing and it is kinda out of place.
  21. it was probably to show off how the masks (usually) worked, i guess? do recall back in 2001 it was the birth of the line, so nobody knew what kanohi masks did until they read up on Bionicle a but more later, it's promotion of the mask-on-mask-off feature mostly.
  22. they first showed up with the bohrak kal (pardoning vacuum which was never a toa element, and plantlife/psion, which were never bohrok elements), then i guess they became toa elements, but greg like, i think said "oh they're rare because lego will never make sets of these some evil guy killed most of them idk." bionicle canon is silly and confusing, it is often best not to think too hard.
  23. Coconut gun. (seriously though I too adamantly thought they were some sort of weapon, but nah, just a REALLY BIG HAND apparently with no thumb because who cares about prehensile capabilities?)
  24. It probably is possible, cuz they basically destroy their old body when they get upgrades already, they are basically robots excluding their magic crystal techno-soul thing, which is what the core is. (its roughly analogous to the heartlight from the Bionicle films, or the arc reactor in iron man, its a plug-shaped glowing thing that goes into their chest, and if you break it, they die!)
  25. Should've added 6 extra bricks somewhere, make the Caterham Seven a 777 piece set. HUGE missed opportunity. Ah yes, and upon completion it sends you to the 777th layer of the abyss! (for reals though that is a pretty slick car o: )
