After all, this is BZPower. haha no what is bzpower real talk though, BZPower used to be the center of constraction discussion online (we were even offered financial support in exchange for becoming the official LEGO discussion board but I think we turned it down because of the regulations and endless bureacracies involved) but that was quite a while back, '03 or '04 I think. Obviously the politics and power struggle between forums and members created a lot of drama that turned into smaller splinter communities over the years, which in turn means that nowadays there are many people in the constraction community who have never heard of BZPower, but nearly everyone in the larger LEGO community is aware of the existence of Eurobricks. So BZP used to be a major hub of activity, but anymore I'd argue that it's a bit of a relic in comparison.

BZP does not do that sort of thing. i think you may want to reconsider. just think of all the opportunities a site like this could provide us with guys I just cleared it with Bionicle Rex and he's given me permission to begin designing graphics to prepare us for the merger excellent. i'm sure that this will turn out to be a profitable decision today we feel the repercussions of soup-can space travel

Arc pretty much nailed it but also I guess I've been more comfortable around the bionicle community (particularly when I first joined) and I have a much stronger sense of nostalgia and loyalty around this crowd. Yo thanks, I'm actually really glad you noticed!! I meant to evoke Wing Zero-era Gundam in the aesthetic without directly copying any particular designs from reference images. I'm glad it's recognizable! I'm not by any means a huge fan but I can tell a Mobile Leo from Altron. The figures got really big shortly after bionicle did and I wanted to get one. Couldn't get Heavyarms though. I wanted him but he was like 12 bucks. mom wouldn't let me. I had to get a Space Mode Leo. For that matter, Wing Zero is pretty much common knowledge. It's the most recognizeable Gundam. Haha, I totally understand. Though I don't regularly watch any particular series I'm a huge fan of the designs and giant robots in general. My first kit was a Strike Noir imported from Japan (for like $30) and it's what I used to gauge the joint design and general proportions of the model.

those wing pieces make great wings (the head is brilliant and super evocative of Bec and that is fantastic too also I love the ring which is a great detail)

This is definitely meant to be a satire of cinema sins. Any actual flaws Bionicle had have been dissected and strewn over the site for years now so trying to create a genuine, comprehensive list would be not only exhaustive but also really dull to read, hence this list. OH MY GOD THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE BEEN NINJA'D IN YEARS WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME I'M GETTING SLOW AND OLD In addition, 1) it's absurd that many official sets have little to no representation in the supplementary media, tv spots, comics, and web serials, and conversely many of the animals in the canon have no sets. Where's my ice bat? and 2) often times Bionicle models are shown in CGI trailers and flash animations doing utterly impossible things with their joints, and sometimes shown with pieces that don't exist. Why don't the Toa Metru have joints at the shoulder? Why cant I get the nose on a Mahi goat to look right? (also, WhereFMF, I wouldn't worry about the lack of reception. S&T is pretty quiet these days, particularly around midnight.)

I think it represents the shape of the gun, and it also has a nice effect of showing the strong radiation of phazon her cannon produces after absorbing phazon and is charging up like Here No, what I meant was, "What LEGO piece is it?" That's just a blue hero factory shell yo. (also hi pat did I mention this is a nice samus and I especially like the feet and stuff)

haha, I saw that like 30 minutes after I uploaded it to flickr. Crazy stuff, right? It appears he wedged minifigure hands into the eye holes of the Ruru. That's exactly right. You need to insert the upper corner of the minifig hand into the upper corner of the eye from the back of the mask, then push down and in. The leverage keeps it tightly in place. I used the same thing on Tali but I felt it would be better suited for eyes. Regarding the tail, I'm not a big fan either, but the transition is both smoother than the pictures make it appear and better than any other technique I tried? If you've got suggestions I'm down to try. Thanks guys!!

I've been through this topic a dozen times over the course of BZPower's lifetime and every time my answer was the same, but today I came in here because a pomegranate posted and that's something I had to see for myself. There it is. Wow. (though my brother and I started collecting with Lehvak, my first all-to-myself set was Pohatu Nuva and he was/is the best forever) I signed up for the lego magazine later that year and I started into the story for real with the end of the Nuva saga/beginning of metru though?? I guess that makes me more of a second-generation Bionicle fan.
