  1. I believe that I got the electricity from the 2002 Bohrok animation #7-The Last Stand.
  2. I'm curious as to how a different version would effect how the game reads the text files... even adding a save feature, should only have modified the player and not changed the TextSub.swf or MiniSub.swf lol, yeah us MNOG editors have to stick together, eh? I cannot seem to send you a message, do you have it turned off or is your inbox full?
  3. Well this looks interesting, I'll have to try this out...Hey Toatapio,I developed a tool that makes editing the text files much easier and faster, if you have Microsoft Excel on your computer I can PM it to you.
  4. Hey everyone, I decided to include some of the next chapter with all the bug fixes so it's taking a bit longer than I originally planned to get the update out. Stay tuned though because I should be getting it out soon nonetheless. So far for new content I've finished another cutscene and added Hali to GaKoro. Working on adding a puzzle right now.
  5. you need to go to PoKoro or OnuKoro and Jaller should meet back up with you. The Update that I will be releasing shortly should fix this error and Jaller will meet up with you in whatever town you deliver the last letter in.
  6. A Dragon about ready to unleash its elemental breath attack on whoever is behind the camera
  7. I remember playing it back when they were still releasing chapters. Game was addicting! Me and my friends would get together and try and guess what would happen next, or ask for help getting past a certain puzzle. There is only one other tie-in media game that even came close to this in my book... and that was a certain game that came in Chex cereal boxes...
  8. So do you need help coming up with ideas for the game? if so, I might be able to help a bit.I am willing to listen to any ideas you might have! As I mentioned in the first post even if your ideas are in the form of "It would be cool if......" post them. I currently have a overall viewpoint of how I want the next chapter to flow and what I want to make sure to emphasize on. Most of the details about the first battle at Ta-Koro I have planned, but I'm still fuzzy on what will happen at the other villages. PM me if you want to keep your comments confidential so as to not spoil for anyone else possible plot elements. Some questions that I've been searching for answers: 1. What happens between Pohatu showing up at Po-Koro and the Po-Matoran fleeing to Ga-Koro? Why and what factors forced them to flee / abandon Po-Koro? How did they escape without the swarms catching them? Where did they get the boats they use to escape? 2. What changes / obstacles / plot elements can I add to make it seem like the Bohrok are a real Threat? How can I make it feel like the player isn't just watching a little scuffle between the villages and the Bohrok, but a WAR! 3. As I begin to animate the Toa I decided that it would make their fights more realistic if I tried to define all of their fighting styles. Like Onua would be modeled after a Boxer or Wrestler, Pohatu would use Tae-kwon-do or Kick-Boxing, Tahu a Samurai due to using a single sword, Kopaka a Paladin or someone else who uses a shield.. like Captain America! Also, I would need to better define their character in a fight, like if they use strategy, humor, elemental powers, or tend to lean more on physical ability. Any thoughts on this would be helpful as well. Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it Taipu1. What do you mean by "a weird mix of English and Matoran"? are you referring to the ability to switch between the two? There is a glitch and the cutscene where Jaller meets back up with you I believe is only working in Po-Koro and Onu-Koro, maybe Le-Koro too, so you will have to go to one of those places to activate it. This has been fixed and will be released with an update that I'm trying to put up maybe early next week sometime. So check the issue list and if there is anything that I'm missing or forgot, put it on SOON so that it will be included in this update. Thank you all for your help!
  9. Here is how I originally inserted it: 1. Click on the "Special BBCode" button. (should be right next to Font selection) 2. Select "Media" 3. In the Dimensions box enter: 550,100 4. In the URL box enter: www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nuparu77/Avatars/swarm_banr1.swf I added these instructions to my "About Me" page as well. Thank you for finding this, Takua Dragonstar7. I fixed it, some of the rooms were actually missing from the game files.
  10. copy/paste this: [media='550,100']http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nuparu77/Avatars/swarm_banr1.swf[/media]you will still need to make a link to this forum though, because the above code will only insert the flash banner. When I first started this project over two years ago I was really bad at spelling any of the Bionicle names. On top of that its hard to catch things that don't show up in spell-check. I apologize for the spelling/grammatical errors, I am usually decent at this, but the code for the speech bubbles is a mess. Image So as you can imagine, it's hard to pick up on spelling errors. I now have an excel file that extracts the text files, splits them up so I can run a spell check or make revisions, and re-codes them back into text files. but I did not have this while making Ch1. Someone else mentioned that the Ta-Koro inn/apartment/rooms were a little confusing, so I will add this to the issue list and see what I can do. I'm glad you enjoyed the game Tahraau! yeah it took me quite a bit of effort.. heh just the bug fixing stage is proving to be a larger task than I anticipated I will add these to the issue list so you will see when I fix these, thanks for reporting them. and please feel free to add anything else you find to the issue list directly, if you want to, as this helps me out by not having to search for any additional data I might need to fix the error myself. I started this around two and a half years ago, with no flash experience whatsoever, that is why it took me this long to remake all of the game engine stuff and then build a whole new chapter on top of that. I wasn't working on it constantly, college made me drop it for a while, but since I'm graduating in the spring I now have more free time to work on this. So unfortunately, I'm still in the middle of the planning/brainstorming/story-boarding stage for Ch2. but I should be able to complete this much faster than Ch1 because all the background work should be done.
  11. does the link not work for you? Try pasting this into your browser: www.mediafire.com/?ecxwskk47pxbi8p Glad you like it, I've sunken a lot of time into this project so to hear that other people are enjoying it makes it all worth while Hint 1: Talk to the people around the village, they will give you hints. Hidden Text: Hint 2: She might not be in the village. Answer: Go out the front gate of the village, turn so you are facing the gate, then pan all the way to the right and click to go further up the beach, click on the boat-markings on the beach to trigger a scene. Thanks BrandonB9, yeah I really enjoyed making the Hafu cutscene. Actually, when I first made that episode, I made the mistake of using female Po-Matorans, so I changed it to be more in line with the original story. here is a link to the old one. Yeah and don't worry everyone, you will know when Ch1 it ends, I have a small trailer-ish cutscene that you will see.
  12. I tried to have their dialog fit what they would say but, I see what you're getting at, without a cutscene for each of them their character is hard to see. I will keep this in mind and try to work on this as I progress in the next chapter. On the bottom of the screen there should be two buttons "Save Game" and "Load Game" took me a while to figure out how to get these functions working. Oh and it saves the games in a form of cookie, so if you move the game to a different folder you will lose your saves.
  13. Thank you Click for the fast response! Yeah, I will see what I can do. I try and make things seem natural but without working in a real 3D environment it's sometimes hard to have all the turns match up. The original game had the same problem in some places. I actually added the scene in Ga-koro facing away from the docks and towards the center of town because it really needed one there. But I'll work on the Ta-koro inn area. On the bottom right of the screen there is a button called "Debug Mode" when you run into an error click this button and copy/paste the mapname displayed at the top of the menu (should be something like XVIII.11) this will tell me exactly where the error occurred. Also at the bottom of the menu there is a button called "MataNui" this should change all the signs in the game from English to MataNui so that you can check them for spelling as well. Thanks for posting what you found, I'll definitely get on those errors!
  14. Yeah, it would take a long time to convert all of the content from the original game over to Actionscript 3.0 That is why I limited myself to using 1.0 If your planning on designing a game from scratch I would definitely use up to date Actionscript, because it is a lot more powerful and you can do so much more with it. I didn't want to release anything here until I had something concrete to present. (like the first chapter) Plus I was a little bit paranoid about getting shut down due to several other MNOLG topics being closed. (still don't know what that "MNOLG 1.5" project was all about) I started a discussion here.
  15. This is a discussion for the MNOLG 1.5 Project ----Objective---- The goal of this Project is to make a MNOLG 1 style flash game that covers the Bohrok Swarms arc, Picking up right after the first game ended, and following the Flash episodes released on Bionicle.com that show highlights of this era. ----Version 2.1.1 Released!!---- This is the Chapter 2 Part 1, the second part is still under development.I decided to split my relases into parts for two main reasons: 1. Release updates more frequently, because making this game takes quite some time. 2. More frequent feedback from the forums for finding bugs and errors. Mention any bugs/misspellings you come across in the forum, but please also report them on the Issue List. Download: Version 2.1.1 (.7z) Version 2.1.1 (.zip) ----Important Stuff!!---- To run the game extract the files and click on "Flash Player Run.bat" In the Debug Menu you can switch between MataNui and English text for the ALL THE SIGNS in the game! So you can leave it in MataNui for a more classic feel, or switch it to English, because after all, the Chronicler (who you're playing as) can read quite well without translating. Use the Save/Load feature, so that when I release an update you will be able to pick up where you left off. All 9 save/load slots are working. Except for that 10th button, not really sure what that does.. Screenshots:
  16. Let me know what you think of Flash CS6, or even CS3 for that matter, I'm still working in Flash MX 2004. Maybe I should find a trial or something to compare... I've been working on a continuation game for the Bohrok swarms arc, planning on releasing it chapter by chapter just like Templar Studios did for the original game. I started this project back in late 2010... so just over two and a half years ago, with no knowledge of flash whatsoever. As I said before, the Background stuff is what kills ya (Game Engine, Drag-Drop system, Backpack, Save/Load, etc..) because you have to get that out of the way before you can actually work on the fun stuff like animations and mini-games. Anyways the second chapter is currently in production, Google "Fan Made MNOLG 1 Sequel" if you're interested in playing the first chapter.
  17. Awesome job BrandonB9, How long have you been using Flash? because if you just started that's quite impressive! I don't know how long it took me before I could even get simple keyboard inputs... I agree with TNT-Vezon that the light-stone should be behind the Chroniclers hand, or just bigger and rotated so that it looks like he's holding it. I like how you started with a Game-engine approach where you can actually click, move and interact. However I warn you, it took me several months before I finally got a working copy of the original game engine, so if you are planning on going further down this road, remember to stick with it! What are your plans for your next flash animation/game?
  18. This is Awesome! As a fellow, flash animator I admire how much time must have gone into making this. I would suggest three small things though: 1) when Nuju first speaks it might be good to put in "...." or some kind of " *Speaking in unknown Language* " being as this is the first dialog for your first episode, and a new viewer might initially assume that you haven’t added text to the episode yet. 2) You might consider putting in a Next button during dialog (like the ones seen in the Bohrok animations). The reason for this is; flash tends to greatly change speed based on internet connection, and if someone has a really fast connection it might blow through some of the dialog. Although, you did a great job in timing it so that I had plenty of time to read everything when I watched it. 3) It could be just my internet connection, but some of the terrain scenes seemed to drag on a bit. But all of those suggestions are just little things, overall this is Amazing! Can’t wait to see more!
  19. Good Job, Tazakk! Here's an animation I threw together: Tahu_Run_Flip I think it would be cool to someday make an episode that rivales the fight between Onua and Lewa in the nest, which was one of my favorite episodes from the MNOLG.
  20. Guy who's thinking: "If this fence wasnt between us.... "
  21. Wow, this is my first time seeing this, cant wait for it to be finished!! Then I can get started on building Mata-Nui, complete with snowy mount Ihu, Lava-Filled Ta-Koro and all the Onu-Wahi Tunnels!!
  22. I would like to see Lego Transformers, with sets actually transforming into cars and such.
  23. My Favorites (Ranked!) 1) MNOLG 1 - (of course) Best Lego Game Ever. 2) Spybotics: The Nightfall Incident - still remember that opening tune! 3) Galidor Quest - I remember getting to the end and having maxd out equipment stats, it was awesome. 4) Backlot - Loved the game but my internet connection was so bad that I remember having trouble loading all the 3D stuff.
  24. As long as they are only reducing box size and not content, I'm happy Now if only they could bring the pricing down a notch as well...
