  1. Octopi have no backbones, and have three hearts. Also they have eight arms (MIND = BLOWN, amirite)

Actually I believe that, technically, they have six arms. And two legs. Because when they're scuttling along the sea-bed they only ever use two tentacles for motion. One of these arms, incidentally, is a mating-arm. At least on males. It breaks off during the, ah, throes of passion and doesn't grow back. The male octopode dies soon after
I do recall hearing about this, except in a kind of squid. Scientists first thought it was an extra tentacle on the female before making the... discovery.
  2. I believe one of the first video games was known as 'Tennis for Two'. It came before Pong.Orca whales recently became reclassified as a species of dolphin.Octopi have no backbones, and have three hearts. Also they have eight arms (MIND = BLOWN, amirite). The whale shark, though it is the biggest whale shark existing today, is practically harmless to humans. It's a filter-feeder.The Coelacanth species, once thought to be extinct since the end of the Cretaceus period, is still alive and swimming today.Starfish can regenerate their bodies from a chopped-off limb.If you see a blue-bottle jellyfish on the beach, don't step on it. They have very long tentacles and these are known to flick up if the body is stepped on.Jellyfish don't have brains, but the nervous systems of some kinds are some of the most sensitive in the animal kingdom. One third of the fifty known species in the whiptail lizard genus are entirely female. Their DNA has the ability to keep a diverse mix of genes, allowing them to survive for several thousand generations. Also, here's a fun Bionicle one I heard somewhere. The truth of it is debateable, but it still seems entertaining. In The Legend Reborn, Kiina was originally meant to have a heavy Russian accent. That would have made the movie a million times better for me.

  3. Greg has said that Gresh's parents are probably still out there. Kiina's and Gelu's are possible, given their ages, but we don't know what percentage of the population died during the Shattering.I like to think that gresh's parents got stuck on Bota Magna, so one day Gresh is going to run into a Glatorian plant monster thing and..."Mum? Is that...you?""GRESHIE! WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING A JACKET? BLAAARGH!"

Man, that's going to be the best part of Bionicle ever: when we see Gresh's parents."Aww, Greshie-Weshie, are these your friends? Greshie-poo never had many friends when he was in school, I don't know why. He was such a cute little baby." *Cue embarrassing photos of Gresh*EDIT: Aw now I had to go and make a poorly-drawn comic of Gresh and his mum.
  4. I think it should have had a lot more. As Alyska said, a TV show would have suited it, and probably would have brought in heaps more fans. But for now, we have to put up with what we've got.EDIT: Just saw what ankyfdarkness said, and I see a lot of sense in that. New fans would bring in more money, but whether or not it would be enough would be the problem. Still, it could technically work.

  5. I like where this new bit is going.I was seriously missing the original kids. I wonder how Rose and Dave are going, though. Also, lol, Sayonara Kansas. I remember thinking that Jade's red sparkly shoes were a reference to the Wizard of Oz, and here's another reference. Let's hope she doesn't get squished by a house.

  6. It is possible that a large number of the population died in the Shattering. Maybe, through some strange coincidence, most of the deceased were women.Another possibility is that you just don't see many women in the storyline, but they are still there. You don't really see a large enough number of Agori or Glatorian to make an accuate assumption. Nevertheless, there would most likely be less females, but perhaps on a lesser ratio to the one Alyska mentioned. Also, now I have this mental image of Gresh's mum being the sort to follow him around when he's off adventuring with Mata Nui, trying to get him to wear a jacket because it's cold outside. That brings another question: what's the likelihood of any Agori/Glatorian's parents being around, just out of curiosity?

  7. Simple. Matoran don't eat, Agori do. It's not like the Matoran can be like "Can I have some of that?" like when you're eating chocolate and and your dog wants some. Matoran can't eat, so it can't really be an issue. Besides, I doubt this has any storyline significance.

Matoran do eat. They do it by absorbing the energy of the meal through their hands.
  8. Once, I found I had a voice message on my phone. I checked it and heard a sound I can only describe as an irregular heartbeat underwater. I was really freaked out by this, especially as I couldn't find the number. Later, I found out the someone who had called me had forgotten to hang up and put the phone in their pocket, and the fabric of their pants had made the weird noises.

  9. Actually, this topic has got me wondering exactly what the Great Beings would do in order to make a "male" AI brain into a "female" one. I don't think hormones are a factor for Matoran and Toa, so perhaps they'd try and emulate the structural differences between male and female brains...

If the MU inhabitants have a mostly mechanical brain, they could simply reprogram it slightly. However, it sounds like it could be a fiddly job; one wrong code and you'd have a gender-confused Toa.If their brains are more organic in their workings, it would be a lot more complicated, but the Great Beings would think of a way if they wanted. They probably just wouldn't bother.Either way, their basic body shape would have to be fixed too, or 'fixed' Orde would look very manly. Oh, and let's not forget changing the voice, though that would be a much easier task.
  10. Taipu1'">

I think Tahu's changed a lot over the years, I don't think he'd have a problem with taking orders anymore. I'd personally like him to pack it in now and become a Turaga, as his destiny has been achieved he can do that...

I kind of wish that all the Toa Nuva would have become Turaga after they awakened Mata-Nui. That would have brought the whole Bionicle saga full circle and made for a much better ending.-don't touch my pocket protector
If they did that, they wouldn't get into shenanigans anymore. Or at least not as wild shenanigans as they used to be.I just finished reading Raid on Vulcanus, and through the book the Agori see the Glatorian as things to protect them when they're needed but otherwise aren't required. How do you guys think this view might extend to the 'new' races?
  11. Err, I'm betting that the Great Beings could probably make some more matoran if the need arose.-don't touch my pocket protector

But why would they want to? Mata Nui's body's purpose was fulfilled.
Angonce seems like a decent bloke. He'd probably whip up a few more Matoran if he felt the need arose.
  12. However, I do think that they can find a way to work together. They seemed to be able to do that when threatened by Makuta, the only question is if that alliance can survive during peacetime...

It's something Tahu and Ackar are working on at the moment, to build and strengthen Matoran-Agori relations.
For some reason, when you said that I immediately thought of a big Arts and Crafts class for all the races. :PAlso, remember that Ackar and Tahu aren't that well-known in each other's cultures. Also, Ackar is considered by some Agori to be an 'old coot', so to speak.
Ackar is still the leader of the Agori defense force. They shouldn't have too much trouble working with each other.
Maybe, but would Tahu like taking orders from someone instead of giving them? Besides, as I said, some Agori don't respect Ackar because of his age. But now that I think about it, others might think it best for him to have a more... behind-desk job. Like, he wouldn't be gallavanting off all the time, instead issuing orders and suchforth.
  13. Perhaps they are an entirely genetically-engineered form of life, created by the Great Beings, and they can use some form of technology to duplicate themselves or artificially combine DNA to make complex clones. Perhaps, before the Shattering and the Baterra, they could identify and select specific genes to bring into the next generation, therefore creating stronger, more superior Skrall with less illnesses and deformities. That's just wild speculation, mind. They could just as easily do things the usual way, which would make this all a lot simpler, if not less sci-fi and cool.To the asexual-reproduction debate: There is actually quite a few species of lizard that can asexually reproduce without great consequence. Their species is entirely female, and the females' DNA retains the mix of genes from their parent species (meaning before they evolved to not need males), thus allowing them to survive for several thousand generations.Don't believe me? In the Whiptail Lizard genus, one third of the fifty known species under the name are entirely female. Google it or something. So it's actually possible for it to work, even though it's unlikely, and would require a more complex pattern. Also, the mix of genes would have to include the genes to either become male or female. Males would serve little purpose child-wise besides protecting the female and, I don't know, being slaves or paperweights or something, but somewhere along the line males felt more obligated to rights and as such a hatred was formed between them.Lots of speculating here, too. Think of it what you will.

To put this more in-topic, he seems the sort to cause some havoc if he's still there. You could imagine him being a huge sourpuss and telling everyone that Mata Nui isn't such a good guy after all. Since not all of the Agori personally met Mata Nui, there could be a few who believed him.
  15. Thought of another one that angers me as a human being:2012.First order of business: Continental Whiplash is silly. A continent cannot be slowly be drifting for millions of years and then suddenly go 'wa-BAMMMMM' into another one. Not even at the end of the world. It's just... it's just... I don't even know.Second: Since when do we base any form of scientific hypothesis on a calendar? All that's going to happen is it's going to tick over and start again. Besides, how would the Mayans know about the end of the world before us, with our advanced technology gizmos and such? All this movie did was make people afraid of the year 2012.Need I go on?

  16. I'll stick with BIONICLE and Greg Farshety until the end. BIONICLE's been there all my life, I'm not going to give up on it just because the story hasn't been updated in months. And I think it's great he has a kid now, that and his family should always be a priority, not some Science Fantasy world.Greg, take your time man; your a great writer, you needn't be rushed. The end result is always what counts the most. And I finally got around to reading Journey's End, have to say it's one of my favorite books now. Guys, If for some weird reason you've given up on the story, just end it right there and move on.And thanks Erebus for the news (However late to it I am  )

True, that. I second your motion.
  17. I'm resisting the urge to make a crude joke about the misleading title of this topic... :PI think after all they've been through, and with Mata Nui's little speech thing, they'll generally get along okay. I think they've realized they've got nothing to gain from fighting with each other, and matoran and agori seem like pretty nice people all around anyway.

Still, there are always a few sour grapes in the bunch. Metus and Ahkmou, for example. And as I understand, Scodonius is a bit of a 'creep' and also a meanie. Besides, as a very extreme example, how'd you like it if you finally got your house clean and some random people decided to move in, even if your parents told you both to get along?(It's not the greatest example, sorry)
