Those guys didn't even last long in the Empire. All they did was lay the foundation and stick around a while longer until their rapid aging either caught up with them or led them to be turned into cyborgs. Other than that, yeah, dock work is really all they're good for anymore.

Same with the Spartan-IIs, now that I think about it. Master Chief only goes against his superiors/protocol if he feels like the alternative option is most suitable. In Legends, other circumstances have caused some Clones to disobey Order 66, but in the canon, yeah, the Jedi were the biggest players in that area.

Hey, you're right! Let's keep in mind that the majority of the Spartans that defected to the Insurrection were IVs. Wow, the circumstances in both franchises are eerily similar... At least with the UNSC, the less serious personnel is barely a problem.

Ah, then you wouldn't have seen a lot of Storm Trooper variants. There's about 57 of them (in Legends, so you got me there, actually) all spread out through games, novels, and comics. Are you talking about the red and white Shock Troopers? They do have Imperial variants if that's what you were wondering. And you actually have a really good point; I forgot about all of that. Why do variants matter if the soldiers suck?

I'm no expert on Star Wars, either. However, I'd love to get into Legends someday. So much material to read; it's wonderful. A lot of alternate Storm Trooper types were in video games and stuff. If you don't play a lot of the video games, you won't see lot of Storm Trooper variants, but trust me, after seeing all of them, you'll probably wonder why the Empire lost in the first place.

Oh, really? I got my info from Star Wars History, a YouTube channel with about 22 minutes worth of videos on all the Stormtrooper types and variants (not counting the brief First Order-based video). However, I'm not about to dismiss your argument. I think you might be right, for all I know.

Well, what we were given is enough to make a unique Spartan to somewhat call our own, but yeah, why is my "armor" combination so special when someone else is running around with it in a different color? All we got for individuality is colors and those stupid "variants" with different patterns. Also, if I remember correctly, the Clone Army had less armor types and variants than the Imperial Army.

I see you're using the quotation marks; keep it up! Anyway, you get the occasional gem, but yeah, Halo 5 needs that system where you can have patchwork armor. Makes the Spartan feel a little more personal and it would be a nice treat for the Red vs. Blue fans; they can mix and match the right armor combinations to get their favorite characters.

It's great that there's more classic weapons and helmets, but yeah, the latter is a bittersweet revelation due to the lackluster armor customization. I wanna say they put the overwhelming limits on it because of the sheer amount of nausea-inducingly bad helmets, boring and uninspired armor, and 117 purple visors. Breaking all of it up to allow mismatched armor would probably double the file space limit or something (an exaggeration, but still).

I'm sure you're right. I'll bet the hefty-ish price tag is used to pay them properly or something. Also, I'm pretty sure Yabda is voiced by Joseph Staten, the man behind most of the Grunts in the games. Staten is a creative director with Microsoft Studios, so I'm not sure how that affects his pay.

I used to think that until I read a Halo Waypoint thread on it. Multiple people said that voice acting isn't cheap and that some hard work did go into making it. Sure, $10 may be a buck or two too high, but I understand why the pack would cost more than $3 or something.
