  1. What I thought G2 was missing all along was the heart and ambition. G1 was a key player in saving LEGO from financial disaster back in the day, so LEGO had no choice but to take it seriously and put everything they had into BIONICLE back in 2001. Comic books, collectible masks, promotions, dozens of sets with action features, Mata Nui Online Game, a (scrapped) video game, and whatever else I missed. BIONICLE was out there competing with whatever was taking the kids away from LEGO during that time. Fast forward to G2 and all we get in the first year are 13 sets, shallow lore, and meme-worthy online animations with only one voice actor. Hardly my idea of my childhood's triumphant return. Therefore, I think what G3 needs to succeed is the same spirit that G1 had. I would personally prefer a soft reboot for the sake of familiarity. The premise of G1 was good enough for me, really. The lore needs a mysterious island setting with equally mysterious and interesting protagonists plopped down into it. Hit us with some cool masks to collect. Tell us a cool story with comics and something to watch like online animations or a TV show. Fans of G3 need content; something interesting to follow and tie in with the cool figures popping up in the toy aisles. For characters, I would be in the "consistent main cast" camp. As much as I loved the Metru/Hordika and the Inika/Mahri, there are people out there who would have loved to see the Mata/Nuva remain in the spotlight throughout. In fact, the Mata would be my first choice for a G3 cast. If the writers can keep the Mata interesting for an entire reboot of BIONICLE, I won't make a complaint. However, it's necessary to have a side casto flesh out the universe and provide foil to help the Toa grow as characters. That, and I'd love to see my favorites like Vakama and Nuparu return. And another thing; I haven't been following Ninjago since 2013, but I'm pretty sure they kept the core five ninja with some additions to the heroic lineup. That concept would keep G3 fresh. The return of Takanuva/Ekimu would be an ideal choice, but there's more potential out there. For example, maybe Nuparu can play a big role in the story again by building new weapons and armor for the Toa while throwing in a vehicle every once in a while. As for villains, I liked the Bohrok, Vahki, Visorak, Skakdi, Barraki, and Makuta, so I'd love to see 2020-something rehashes of them. I'd love to keep adding on to my answer, but I want to think about it a little more. I think I'll come back later and continue my part of the discussion then.
  2. I'm not judging anyone at all; I'm just curious. Why are you still logging onto BZPower after all this time? What do you do around here? I'd love to hear your answers and see what cool things I can still do and talk about on this site. The reason I still log on from time to time is mostly due to nostalgia. It's nice to look around a little bit, see my old posts, and wonder how everyone's doing nowadays. I also hope we get another surge of activity that breathes some more life into the forums, but a man can dream.
  3. I seriously have no idea what's going on. They're probably trying to tease a game or something, but what kinda game? Couldn't be a console game because we have Skywalker Saga in the works (and I'm very hyped for that game). I'm a little more sure it could be a VR-type mobile game considering LEGO has tons of apps/games available for mobile, but the life-sized accessories seem a little excessive for a tie-in. Looking at the accessories and Mia from Friends, maybe it's a costuming/cosplay venture, but it's the realistic lion heads that get me. And then why is there a life-sized yellow inflatable raft flying in the sky?! If this means it's another MMO or something, I have my doubts about how that will turn out. I'm tellin' you, this is gonna be one of those videos where I don't get it at all and once LEGO finally explains it with the big reveal, it's gonna be super obvious and I'll feel like a chump for missing it.
  4. Sounds like they patched that up nice and quick; my Lesovikk came complete.
  5. Best I could find so far were two products on the official LEGO website. Each of the products are at least ten years old, so that warrants a pat on the back. I mean, no recalled products since 2009. Astounding! I was honestly surprised to find such a link at all, considering LEGO's reputation of quality. Sure, they're a notorious choking hazard and a lot of their projectile launchers could injure an eye, but that's about it.
  6. At long last, I am just plain Sybre once more.

  8. Both Columbine shooters have IMDb pages. They've even been credited on the IMDb page of Zero Hour's Columbine Massacre documentary for their appearances in archived footage. There's at least one website dedicated to misheard lyrics that were submitted by people. Forgot the site's name. The live-action adaptation of the anime Rurouni Kenshin is considered to be the only good (or at least the best) live-action anime adaptation.

    DREAMS

If this somehow breaks a rule, feel free to remove this or have me edit it out. Last night, I had a dream where I was Eric Harris, one of the infamous Columbine shooters. In real life, I'm a tall guy; 6'2.5", but in the dream, I was Eric's actual height: 5'6.5". Anyway, "I" lived in a parking lot in the dream, but "my" home consisted of a single wall with a window and curtains, random crates scattered about, and a wooden dining room table with equally wooden chairs. The dream was rather uneventful outside of having another school shooter, Jeff Weise, over for lunch. We sat down at my table and ate fast food off of everyday dinner plates and used ketchup packs as our condiments. Jeff couldn't open his packs right (I've handled those packs before and they're held shut with some pretty hefty adhesive), so I would peel them open for him or whip out a pocket knife to cut the bottom. As I was slicing it open, he was saying he only like Heinz brand ketchup and none of that "red, watery stuff." "This is Heinz, man. This is the real deal," I reply as I cut open the ketchup and hand it over to him so he could add the contents to the big glob of ketchup that was already on his plate. If I had to pick a hidden meaning behind this dream, part of it would be remembering that the shooters in the dream were just kids who were just hanging around, eating fast food, and probably spending time with other teenagers at first. Eh, just a thought.
  10. My younger brother and I used to do stop-motions for a while. I did about 2 or 3 animations before leaving the hobby behind, but my brother kept going. He'd take the pictures, then ask me to put the animation together for him. We didn't post the animations anywhere (though I posted my favorite one on Facebook); we just did them for fun. Another thing my brother and I would do was gather up our MOCs, go out in the backyard, and set up these cool scenes using scenery and anything artificial. I remember we had our MOCs scrambling across the top of a picnic table in our backyard to climb a rope tied to a branch up above to escape some villains, hang around in a tree, and even had my self-MOC grab a tree branch to steady himself in a wall run as a villain stood at the top of the wall, ready to cut the branch with his sword. We didn't take pictures, mostly because my phone didn't have any room. We admired the scenes in the moment, then moved on to make another scene. I used to just pose my figures and take pictures of them. I had a field day with my Nokama Metru and a rainy day.
  11. Imagine trying to describe your case of lethologica to a friend or something, but you forget the word "lethologica" while describing what it is. George Lucas, in a period of self-doubt, thought the original Star Wars would be a box office bomb. In order to soften the blow, he planned to go on a vacation during the release of Star Wars. On the day of the premier, George was eating on the patio of a restaurant before leaving on his vacation when he saw a massive line outside the cinema. He walked over to the line and asked some guy what everyone was waiting to see, and the man said, "Star Wars." George would take his vacation in comfort that day. What he witnessed on opening day was, of course, a mere fraction of the success his franchise has reached.
  12. People claim that wasn't a coincidence. I think the shooters actually planned to strike on April 19th or 20th, but a lot of people say it wasn't an "any random day" kinda gig. One of the theories about Eric Harris was that he was at the very least a Nazi admirer. I don't know this for sure, but his world view was alarmingly similar to the superiority complex-type mindset that Hitler had. I'd best toss in some facts to keep the post relevant. Some dinosaur bones were discovered in medieval times, leading people to believe in the existence of dragons. In Balboa Park, California, there's a big, old carousel that attracts visitors to this day. The carousel, which still works, was originally located a block or two away from its current position. It got moved for a World Fair in 1915 and its old position was converted into a massive, circular fountain. Yeah, I'd be a pretty amazing coincidence, especially since I've read Harris owned a copy of Mein Kampf. Those are some pretty good facts, too. Your mention of the World Fair reminded me of a morbid useless fact I learned (I frequent a lot of creepy/morbid fact sites; this might be one of the few that should be okay on BZPower): Serial killer H.H. Holmes constructed an enormous "murder castle" in Chicago in 1893 where he held his victims prisoner. It contained stairways that led nowhere, doors that only led to brick walls, oddly-shaped hallways to confuse victims, and one soundproof room whose only entrance point was a trapdoor on the floor of the room above. While building it, Holmes frequently fired the construction workers and hired new ones, to ensure he was the only person with a complete understanding of the finished building. Holmes was eventually arrested for an unrelated fraud scheme, and then his murders came to light. After his conviction, it was burned down by anonymous arsons, either locals who were disgusted by the building or unknown accomplices of Holmes who wanted to destroy evidence of their involvement. I mention it because part of the reason he built it (publicly) was to be a hotel for visitors attending the World's Fair being held in Chicago that year. Holmes admitted to killing 27 people, but some estimates but the death toll as high as 200. I doubt it was a coincidence, actually. We can talk about it more in PMs. Thanks! Best I could off the top of my head at the time. Oh man, I think I've heard of that guy! It's pretty morbid to think about, but it reminds me of its less morbid counterpart: the Winchester Mystery House. Ever heard of Winchester rifles? The guy who owned the brand had three children, and one of the sons married some woman named Sarah. A few years after Sarah became a widow, people were saying her house was haunted by people who were killed by Winchester rifles. Sarah was having none of it, so she tricked out her house's interior to be something like the "murder castle" from the World Fair, all to confuse any ghosts. The Winchester Mystery House stills stands and it's a tourist attraction.
  13. I feel like that picture would make sense even without the words.

  15. That's a relief. I get that the Columbine shooting and 9/11 are sensitive subjects, but then again, so are Nazis. Considering your Nazi-related post wasn't moderated, I figured I would be okay, but I didn't want to cross any lines. Speaking of the Columbine shooting, rumors were that the shooters used the video game Doom to train for the shooting, complete with custom levels based off the layout of Columbine High School. These supposed "Harris levels" (named after Eric Harris, the elder shooter) were the source of mystery for years, and some said they don't exist. The Harris levels actually do exist, but they were not used for training. Eric simply made some random custom Doom levels that were not based off Columbine High School, but he did draw diagrams of the school, possibly to plan the shooting. One last Columbine fact for now. Brooks Brown, a childhood friend of Dylan Klebold (the younger shooter) was told by Eric to go home shortly before the shooting began. Brooks didn't stick around. He grew up to work for LucasArts and even worked on some Star Wars video games. The General was a silent comedy film from 1926. It was considered a flop back in the day, with people regarding it as a terrible and unfunny film, but decades later, it was reevaluated and is now regarded as an incredible watch.
  16. Aw, man! I was hoping I'd find a JonTron reference somewhere! Just a little something about S-scizzermin. Onto the MOC itself. This little thing is really well-done. It's not gappy, it has sidewalks beneath it, and there's a tiny statue thrown in for good measure. See, that's my favorite part about the MOC; you did everything you could on such a tiny scale, and it looks great. Heck, it actually looks kinda like a miniature version of a hypothetical set. You know how people will sometimes make mini versions of actual sets? Kinda like that. Great job and good luck in that competition (if it hasn't ended yet)!
  17. William Shakespeare's classic tragedy Hamlet is not considered to be the first version of the story. Previous versions were more story-driven and less psychological than Shakespeare's take. Also, it's possible that he collaborated to write it. (If this one breaks any rules, I apologize in advance and feel free to remove it.) 9/11 was predicted more than once years before it happened. Putting the Nostradamus hoax aside, the Columbine shooters fantasized about crashing a plane into a building in New York, but they never intended to do so. Then in the year 2000, the video game Deus Ex features a New York skyline that lacked the Twin Towers. The developers wanted to include them and the towers are in the game's files, but texture memory limitations forced the developers to omit them in the actual game. They decided to say terrorists destroyed the towers before the events of the game, which was released over a year before 9/11/01. (Time for an age-appropriate and Halo-related fact.) In the Halo lore, Kelly-087, one of the Spartan-IIs, speaks in a British accent in Halo 5: Guardians, and accent she doesn't have in the Halo Legends episode "The Package" and the last episode of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, both of which chronologically happen before Halo 5. Perhaps she became a teaboo?

  20. By that, do you mean continuing this series, but keeping it simpler, or just starting an entirely new series? Either way, you have my support. I think I need an animator to make a opening sequence for the comic series. That would be cool, but it doesn't answer my question. the answer is that I need to keep it simpler. will anyone be my animator? Thank you; that answers my question. I'm sorry if I came across as rude back there. I have no excuse and I'll take steps to watch my "virtual tone" in the future. Won't be me. I can't animate. that's okay, I need more for my 3d remake of chapter 1. voice overs of phinto, wairu, and original voice overs of onipex and jevik. not to mention (the kaita guy thing... what ever?) I think he look cool. oh and btw, new comic Woah, 3D remake? I'm definitely sticking around for that! Voice acting as well? Cool! Do you have the voice acting all taken care of? Also, the Kaita was named Rahkshi Kaita Xo, I believe. Read the new comic. I thought all the different settings were awesome, but yeah, there weren't a lot of elemental properties involved. As for Wairu, he sure is subtle. Maybe he can be the big hero and comfort Kanini or something. That is, if he's still alive after dealing with Husker. Also, Bohrok are always trouble, but if Phinto can solo a Rahkshi Kaita, I'm sure he has a way around the Bohrok. I'm sure you will, I'm sure your right, I'm sure dallier will come useful. You would be correct! Alright, cool. With all the upgrades he got, I'm inclined to agree. Jeez, what part of the planet does she live on? Where I am, it's not even Spring yet! The sundress should be a refreshing change. In the BIONICLE lore, the Matoran are mostly mechanical, but partially organic as well. As for the armor, I think it's also metal.

  22. Man, why couldn't the actual sets look more like this? Your take on the Phantoka makes me think the Makuta came to the wrong neighborhood. They all just look more heroic and intimidating, with Kopaka really bringing up the latter. Great work!
  23. exo was the first line i was really obsessed with as a kid, i'd love to see a ccbs reboot I never got too far into Exo-Force as a kid, but I loved it enough to miss it when it left. I'd kill for a reboot, especially after seeing what we had with Hero Factory's IFB.
  24. This has been said many times before, but here I am, ready to say it again: Exo-Force. Hero Factory's Invasion From Below arc has proven to us that we can get some pretty solid mechs using the CCBS system. I can't even imagine what a modern-day Exo-Force would look like; that's how promising it is! Okay, okay; I'll toss a more original hat into the ring. Anybody remember Vikings? You probably don't, but the theme was about a bunch of nameless bearded men with weapons battling mythical creatures starting at three times the size of each warrior. Imagine how awesome a CCBS Vikings theme could look, especially with the monsters. You could get different Vikings in a variety of shapes and sizes along with all these cool, imaginatively-designed beasts. Think of how awesome a sea serpent would look with that kinda treatment! Also, remember Knights' Kingdom? Yeah, a CCBS reboot won't be happening so long as Nexo Knights is around; let's not even get into that. The reason I bring it up is because we've found a cure for BIONICLE Syndrome back in 2015. If you remembered Knights' Kingdom back from 2004-2006, you'd also remember that it was three years worth of clone sets. It did even less than BIONICLE did back in the day; at least BIONICLE mixed things up every once in a while when it got too clone-heavy. However, BIONICLE 2015 was a revolutionary year because it tapped into CCBS's potential more than Hero Factory ever did. We got all these varied body types and a bit of personality to go with them, and that's something Knights' Kingdom to benefit from. I mean, we got Jayko: the fledgling knight who's quick on his feet, Santis: the serious powerhouse of the team, Rascus: the lighthearted jokester, and Danju: the intelligent and calculating knight. Imagine all that getting reflected in a CCBS line BIONICLE 2015 style. I could see it working once Nexo Knights runs outta shield power. While I'm here, how about a CCBS version of LEGO City? *crickets chirp* I'll see myself out.
