  1. Oh man, I didn't realize otter was still around. I remember playing mafia back in the day. Great art from Mushy too!
  2. Well, that fortress came out, so I know what that's about now. I also finally got the Orc, Astronaut, and Falconer. Less enthused about trying to get the figs I want from next year's series. All in all, I have to say 2023 was a good year for Lego.
  3. Like a large lad. The time comparison pictures are a nice touch.
  4. Great parts usage, especially on the arms. Great as a moc and does a good job of capturing the concept art. Only thing is the white snakes coming out of the back read more as more smaller tentacles to me than bubbles.
  5. I like the weapon on the Plasma toa and your color schemes.
  6. Looks great! Love the plant aspect and it was cool to see the sunhat. Thank you for the breakdown picture too. It's useful to see new techniques as someone trying to get back into Bionicle building after being out of it so long.
  7. Yeah, but the majority of actual topics didn't get archived on there. Only some of the very most popular or if you get lucky and someone archived it manually. But I don't know that there were so many people doing that back in the day.
  8. I actually like the horrific monster idea. I think it's more likely they'd be building a fortress to keep something in than keeping people out from it.
  9. I'd be surprised if there was any effort towards that. As much as I'd love to have them personally, I'm pretty sure every possible method of getting them back has been attempted and we have to accept it at this point.
  10. I think one of the goals of the monthly raffles was to encourage more new users. This was from the time period before we just accepted the site wasn't as active as it used to be, and staff were throwing things at the wall. Raffles were one of the only ideas that stuck.
  11. Big moves since your last post. It's been a while, I guess I could say the same for myself.
  12. This was my first Halloween after graduating college and entering the workforce full time. My organization told us No Costumes (and used the inflatable T Rex costume as an example of what not to wear), but said that shirts were okay. So I wore a pair of black jeans and a green and black striped shirt originally from Hot Topic, but which I found used at a thrift store for 50 cents. I looked somewhere along the Shy Ronnie-Kurt Cobain-Beetlejuice line. The office was mostly empty that day, but someone did bring in a cake for the people that were there. No trick-or-treaters. The last time I had those was living in the dorms my first year of college, where I gave each of them a bottle of sparkling water. In past years, I've often been a simple vampire, but I've also done more thrown-together costumes as well as better planned ones. I've been a werewolf, Coach Z, The Heavy Weapons Guy, and my personal favorite from 2017, The Headless Horseman with a real pumpkin head. Apparently I was a trendsetter with that one too. I enjoy Halloween a lot.
  13. Man I was really out of it when I made this topic.
  14. That's a good point. They're super small compared to basically every other Bionicle set, especially the later ones. Also, the same illness-induced haze that inspired me to post this topic made me overlook a few major things. I completely forgot that Onewa is actually a bushing taller than Nuju, meaning their are four distinct heights. AND I neglected to mention the different arm styles that Nokama and Nuju had! The 2001 sets sure had a lot of variation despite using the same basic builds!
  15. Not something I was expecting, but I'm sure it will be popular.
  16. Skull time! Like the use of the ripcords.
  17. Oh yeah, we glowing. Would be nice to see some of the others in this style, especially Takanuva.
  18. In 2001, we got the first small sets: the turaga. They came in three different sizes: Nuju and Onewa being taller, Matau and Whenua being very short, and Vakama and Nokama being somewhere in the middle. So I ask: Which size is best? I started with Vakama, so I was initially partial to the medium size. Later I grabbed Nuju. As a side note, I arrange Vakama's body the opposite direction from all the other turaga. I got Onewa at Brickfair VA, and I've been convinced of the power of the taller turaga. I passed up Matau at the same time. I always thought he and Whenua looked so silly with their tiny stature from the pictures, but I got a Matau this last weekend and the small size is growing on me. (heh) And I think regardless of which size is your preference, it's a good thing they gave us some variety.
  19. Oh, BZP gives you a notification when you rank up now. Neat.

  20. Wish they had gone with the bag instead of the hat. Oh well. If the patches are ever available individually, I'll probably grab the Bionicle and Castle ones, but as is, I'll pass.
  21. I've listened to like 5 Bright Eyes albums in the last couple days, plus some other folk stuff.
  22. https://youtu.be/uuu0opYJAtE Not sure if it's a good song, but the lyrics are relatable to me. Hopefully I'll be seeing this guy live next month along with Essenger.
