  1. Um... there's no Pakari in that picture, just a Miru, two Haus, and a Kakama. Did you mean the Kakama, by any chance?
  2. Had it backwards. I found the reference in the first chapter of Trial by Fire: The Fire Pits feed the Great Furnace, as well as "all the smaller furnaces and forges" in Ta-Metru. My point still stands though: The Great Furnace and the Fire Pits are related. (Also: No offense, Aderia, I do understand your idea, and I do agree that the Ga-Metru symbol is probably actually the Fountains of Wisdom, but it wouldn't make sense for every Metru to depict important structures, except one that depicts an important tool.)
  3. O.O I think you may be right! That's been puzzling me for years, and you very well may have solved it in half an hour! ... Okay, why didn't I post this when I first realized what the symbols were?
  4. Yeah, okay, I can see that. And yeah, I guess a wrench could make sense, but the Great Furnace feels more likely to me. And the wrench (or other mask-making tool) doesn't explain the pits on the sides. I can't find any references, but I could have sworn that the Great Furnace fed the Fire Pits, so there is a connection there.
  5. Here's something I've noticed about the symbols of the districts of Metru-Nui. I think we can all agree that the symbol of Ko-Metru represents a Knowledge Tower. But it seems the rest of the symbols represent something significant to each Metru as well. It seems to me that Le-Metru's symbol is a chute. Yes, the chute system covers all of Metru-Nui, but it's heart is in Le-Metru, and that's where it's most significant, too. Onu-Metru? I'm pretty sure that's an elevator shaft, representing the levels of the archives. (Maybe not necessarily an elevator shaft - the levels of the archives are the important part.) Now, I'm less certain about the others. (Ironically, the other three are the ones I actually have disks for.) I think Ta-Metru's symbol is the Great Furnace and the Fire Pits. (The large circle with chunks taken out of it is the Great Furnace itself, the smaller circles above it probably represent smoke exhaust, and the chunks taken out of the sides are the Fire Pits.) I believe that Ga-Metru's symbol is a canal connecting various... whatever the canals of Ga-Metru connect. Not sure about the bits on the sides, though. The only one I don't know is Po-Metru. Whatever it is, it's too abstract for me to figure out. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them.
  6. Got any info on the .ghg file format? Or some way to read .ghg files, at least?
  7. You're right. Looking more closely at pics on Biosector01, there are definitely slots in the legs. Between two different pics, the lowest slot on Tahu's leg is lit vs dark based on the position of Pohatu (and, more importantly, Pohatu's claw) behind him. If I were to guess, having actual slots was the original plan, but it weakened the piece too much, so they changed it to the implied slots that we got on the final pieces.
  8. Never noticed that before, but it could just be a trick of the light (especially if those are CGI models rather than physical sets. Computers can do weird things if you're not careful.) Not saying it is, mind you, just that it could be.
  9. Vakama's disk launcher was destroyed by The Shadowed One in Time Trap. Bionicle Adventures 10: Time Trap, page 112.
  10. @bonseiii Regarding the imprint, he may be speaking of a physical imprint in the material itself, which wouldn't necessarily fade, rather than an energy imprint. @VakamaMetruNui I think I read or heard somewhere that the beings in the Matoran Universe are able to reshape things with their minds, at least under certain conditions. I believe it was said to explain why Lhikan's mask changed shape after being put on Jala. It's not hard to imagine that this is related to masks changing shape as they change power level, rather than the shape change being an innate property.
  11. So, forgive me for wanting specific confirmation on this, but does this mean the Dragon Cave is fair game now? I can start showing my dragons in my signature again? EDIT: Quick question: can someone tell me what the things that can appear next to posts mean or link me to explanations on them? Specifically in this case: Why do I have three gears and a crossed Firestaff and Drill of Onua next to my post?
  12. This was cleared up earlier in the topic; see fishers' Greg quotes. He did not know. Granted, but the question specifically said "all of their masks". My suggestion has him know his own mask power, in the same way I know what my own name means, but not knowing the powers of the other Toa Metru.
  13. A few things I'd like to say. 1: In an earlier topic on this same subject, I mentioned that there could be 100 different masks semi-common on Metru Nui, and it's just artistic license/the fact that those were the only ones that existed in set form that we only saw those twelve masks. (The Toa Mata's great masks and the Toa Metru's noble masks.) 2: I know what my own first and middle names mean off the top of my head, along with a few others. But I couldn't tell you what even close friends' and family members' names mean without actually looking it up. In the same way, Vakama may well know what his own mask power was, just not how to use it, but had no idea to the powers of the other Toa Metru. (FWI, I can't remember any solid indication that Vakama definitely did not know his own mask power.)
  14. My understanding is that those Rahkshi were being directly controlled or directed by Makuta, whereas later Rahkshi (the ones that were easier to subdue) were "wild" Rahkshi. According to BS01, Rahkshi are naturally destructive, and go out of their way to cause destruction, but acting under orders channels this instinct, making them more dangerous and harder to defeat.
  15. Actually, what he said was "... there are a thousand ways I could destroy you right now. And 941 of them hurt." He does not have 1000 powers, but I could believe he has 1000 deadly applications of his powers and non-powered abilities, and that somewhere around 941 of those applications would be extremely painful.
  16. Makuta did teleport the Vahi, though. It was at the end of Time Trap. He teleported Vakama to the Great Barrier, and Vakama was holding the Vahi at the time.
  17. Well, well, well. Look at what I just found: http://www.bzpower.c...dpost&p=3683619
  18. For the record, assuming the Kal didn't switch symbols:Tahnok-Kal had Gali's symbolGahlok-Kal had Lewa's symbolLehvak-Kal had Onua's symbolNuhvok-Kal had Kopaka's symbolPahrak-Kal had Pohatu's symboland Kohrak-Kal had Tahu's symbol. Also, we can't really trust the comic artwork. In one panel, Lehvak-Kal is hold Gali's symbol, in the very next it's holding Kopaka's.
  19. The first possibility that I suggested meant that he may have known what disks are commonly carved into those shapes, but not necessarily known what powers they produced. And let's face it: Enlarging and Removing Poison adding up to Translation is kinda... weird. He may well have thought Nokama had a mask of Density Control, a far more logical conclusion.Even if we assume he would know the resulting power, I'm not sure that we actually DO know that those twelve masks are too common on Metru Nui. It may well be that, by "coincidence" (meaning those were the only masks available at the time), we've only seen Matoran from Metru Nui wearing those masks, but other masks are just as common. If you took six random masks from a pool of, let's say, 100 kinds of masks (not an unreasonable number, with 1,000 Matoran, maybe even a little small), even if you've memorized a few dozen, the odds are still that you wouldn't recognize them all, fitting into my second possibility.
  20. I'd like to point out a few possibilities:First, Vakama may not have necessarily worked with the powers very often. In other words, he may have looked at Nokama's mask and thought "Remove Poison and Enlarge" but not necessarily known what the resulting power was.Second, it may be that Vakama just doesn't know them off the top of his head. I had to look up on BS01 to get the example of Nokama's mask. Given that there could be hundreds of different kinds of masks, it may well be that Vakama needs some sort of guide to keep them straight and he just didn't have access to one.And yeah, while Vakama and some of the others may have actually known, we know for a fact that Whenua at least didn't know his mask power until he activated it, because in Adventures #1 he was grumbling to the reader about not knowing it (and whether it might have been useful) while he was trying to get into the Archives to find Tehutti.
  21. These are some good points, but I'd like to again point out that the Brotherhood could not have had their Olmak more than 4,000 years before current story. Unless we know for sure that Destral didn't begin teleporting until after that point, it's very likely that the Olmak is not a part of the process.
  22. No, not with only two having existed in the Matoran Universe. Brutaka had one, the other has changed hands a few times. The most recent owners were the Brotherhood of Makuta and then Vezon, the latter of whom it wound up merged with.
  23. I couldn't find a quote, so someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but I seem to remember Greg saying at some point that an Olmak couldn't be used to teleport Destral. Also, do we know how long ago Destral started teleporting and how long ago the Makuta got hold of their Olmak? According to BS01, that Olmak was used by the Order of Mata Nui to imprison Tuyet, so the Brotherhood can't have gotten it more than 4000 years before current story.
  24. The book does not mention the cube at all. The target of the beam and the method (how did I type message? and not notice it at first?) by which the cube would work are all open to interpretation.Well, until Greg says what really happened, anyway.
