  1. Agreed 100%. I know that the reason you give criticism to us isn't due to some "grudge." It's based off of concern for the community and the spread of information within it. That's a noble goal; we definitely care about the way information spreads as well, which is why we're making strides to improve how we handle things.

The only way we're ever going to get better is by learning from mistakes (of which we have most definitely made several); we're very thankful for your role in that. :D

  2. Well, that's a shame. You know things are bad if Inferna is leaving. :/

Haven't spoken to you much in the last few years, but you'll still be missed by me and many others. I'm kind of in the same boat as you, in the sense that I (unoficially) jumped ship from BZP a long time ago. I still hang around and occasionally post, though; I just don't feel like it's worth sinking so much time into this site when it could get deleted at a moments notice, or your membership put on indefinite hiatus while the forums are taken down for months. I know that isn't the BZP staff's fault (far from it), but it still doesn't make it feel any better.

TO SUMMARIZE: I can definitely relate, still sucks though, see you around the internet. :P

  3. And here I was wondering why there were suddenly so many blog posts. Sheesh, is it really perks week already? I should start going to the front page more often.

Yup! This time of year is always pretty interesting. Usually sneaks up on me as well. :P

  4. I think a lot of the issues that people have with the comic makers is that they have a stereotype of being easily enraged. Professional debate quickly seems to degenerate into near-flame wars, and they would if the brave folks who make up the staff of that forum didn't respond to problems with great alacrity.

A likely scenario, if it was true. Both debates I've seen of this issue (and other similar ones) have remained civil, despite slight irritation at the insulting of a popular genre of artwork. I've yet to see an insult hurled back and forth regarding this subject, despite the staff closing down discussion based on fears of this happening.

I'll withhold from discussing this and leave it to others that know more about the subject matter than myself.

  5. I could care less whether the comics are hand-drawn, sprited, or whatever. As long as the comics feature a good mystery, I'm fine with it. And honestly, the lack of dialogue in 2/3 of the comics, while being interesting in its concept of a "silent" comic, makes them sort of hard to understand and doesn't really make for an engaging mystery. Yours is the only one that I think holds up well amongst the other sprite comics.

The art style you choose, sprited or hand drawn, is only one piece in the jigsaw puzzle that is this contest. The story and presentation make up two other very critical pieces, and they are, in a way, more important than the type of art style chosen.

TLDR; Comics being hand drawn don't immediately make them better than sprite comics. There are other factors to consider.

  6. Wow. Sounds exciting.

Someone familiar with me? If Jl's comment above is any indication (in case he knows something I don't), I think I have a hunch... and if I'm right, that's awesome.

It happens every year, but it's still fun times either way; looking forward to AFL.

The look ahead for A2 gives me something to look forward to in the series; apologies for my sporadic posting as of late (though I've been trying to review every chapter).

Wewt Luxury Resort 2. Sounds awesome.

And as far as the RPG goes; I doubt I'll join (though who knows, I may have some unexpected free time on my hands when it launches), but it sounds like an interesting experiment, and one that you definitely deserve props for trying to start. If it becomes successful, it could be ground-breaking in the community. A successful RPG spin-off from a successful comedy? Unheard of.

Everything you presented sounds very interesting; 2012 (and the rest of 2011) certainly is shaping up to be an interesting year.
