  1. He looks pretty good, though I personally think the presence of greebles in lighter colors does make him look a bit cluttered (the dark bluish grey as a tertiary color, as well as the silver and light bluish grey details). I think if you were to use a bit more black to tune out the rest of his color scheme, he would look a lot more coherent. Construction-wise everything looks pretty solid, and I like how the legs retain some of the aesthetics of the original. Nevertheless, the construction of the upper arms seems a bit cluttered compared to the forearm, which kinda detracts from the coherence of the overall build. Having said that, it's your MOC and your style so you are free to do what pleases you. Also, I know this might be slightly irrelevant but additional lighting would help tremendously.
  2. These two have great things going for them, particularly Artemis. I think it's really hard to squeeze that much detail into this build size, so kudos for the excellent execution! While I like that Apollo has a really cleverly built lyre, I believe he should have turned out a lot smoother than this. Were it up to me to build these two, I would try to clean up his aesthetic as much as possible, and try and color-block some more flesh onto there (using whatever tan parts I can find that would fit said aesthetic). I would also try to incorporate as much fabric as I can - the Elite Praetorian Guard has the best fabric for this imho. Nevertheless, an excellent pair of MOCs and I look forward to seeing their placement in the contest! All the best to you and your collab partner!
  3. You guys have done a tremendous job with this pair! I really like the backstories and the theme of bioformers in general, and these two do not cease to impress! I'll keep my feedback on each MOC separate. My critique of Sahtet would be predominantly to do with how the forearms are constructed. They look a bit too clunky compared to the legs, and don't carry over that smoothness. I also feel the dark gray clashes too much with an otherwise well-balanced color scheme. Also, I feel the weapon could have been a bit more discreet, as with Morak's and how it forms part of his tail. Finally, I feel the head may have turned out better if it had some canines or jaws, and the eyes set a bit wider than they are. However, I know that head designs for feline creatures are too challenging to render in Bionicle so I can't really fault you. Otherwise, I like the color distribution and the proportions of the overall build. As for Morak, while I do like the overall aesthetic and especially his beast form, I do feel like he turned out rather small. I would have been much more impressed had he been slightly more physically imposing, at a scale comparable to that of Sahtet. I also think his head, while sufficiently lupine, would have also benefited from some visible chompers. Another thing is to do with the head proportions; currently, it looks a bit too big for the body, further strengthening my argument about the size. That and it seems to really need a bigger, fuller neck, as it is currently held up by a rather flimsy-looking connection point. Finally, I think a more menacing mask would have worked better - Stringer's head, an Avohkii, a Mistika Pakari, or potentially a Kraahkan would have worked wonders here. What I do like, however, is that the MOC is built in the very distinctive style of the builder, and helps showcase that style. All in all though, you guys have done a great job on both of these and I wish you the best of luck in the contest
  4. Both MOCs were built in LDD, these are just very good renders. We actually live not too far from each other, so we just got together for a beer and took pics. It's so cool that you guys are IRL collaborators as well! We should be expecting more collabs from you two in the future
  5. Epic execution! While Cezium's mech is nothing to sneeze at, your parasitic "symbiote" is truly the star of the show. I'm just curious as to how you managed to take photos of them together like that. Was there some clever photo-editing involved or did you have one of you ship out his entry to the other for collective photo-taking? Excellent work as always, and thanks for the good-luck wishes on behalf of my teammate and myself (looks like we might need a lot of it )
  6. I, too, am quite the fan of Shooby4000's work, which is why I'll be frank in saying that I don't see that much of a resemblance. I would suggest working in some more colors. Even the most minimal accents, when executed correctly, will have a tremendous impact on the appearance of your MOC. Some trans-lime green or trans-Apple green would look great here. Also, the clashing textures of the armor pads (shoulder - thighs - knees) does more harm than good. I would also suggest moving the most stylized shape to the shoulders (in this case it's the knees), as that usually makes for a more intimidating silhouette. I do, however, like the way you combined that Inika chestplate with the HF armor underneath. Makes for some really convincing shaping.
  7. This is insanely creative! Especially love how you built the head, which is the star of the show no doubt. However, the body and limbs could have benefited from similar textures to the torso (don't quote me on how though )
  8. This is the most interesting contest brief I have ever encountered! I'm baffled as to how this wasn't thought of before I'll definitely be participating... subject to finding the right partner, of course! Side note: the second-place prizes are much more of interest to me tbh
  9. I love the level of detail in this! Everything from the sound system to the little Katana on top of that (what I assume to be a) stereo cassette system, right up to the whiteboard (or is it a TV? Seems like a better fit for a wall-mounted TV ngl ) is just expertly done. Awesome stuff overall
  10. (Shameless self-promotion) Here's a look at an LDD feline I'd built a few months back: LDD tiger. Some of the pieces I can think of that could work: Hero Factory 1.0 torsos give feline forms great curvature IMO.Also, some of the CCBS shells are very well suited for slender curves.Ben 10 thighs in black are also greatly suitable for such builds. The standard HF chest and torso plate could also be used very effectivelyOlder Bionicle parts, such as Bohrok hips, could also be used, albeit somewhat risky due to their textures.Rahkshi feet in black could be used on the sides of the rear legs.Hopefully these ideas could come in handy. Also, I don't necessarily think BBC was the right place for this.
  11. Definitely seems like a missed opportunity with the lack of ornaments. Something as simple as sticking studs in the exposed holes would have made it at least twice as pretty! Regardless, it's a tree-riffic creation Happy New Year to you all!
  12. The very fact that you chose to build this creature is the reason why I'm here, as it has always been one of my favorite "classic Halloween monsters". The only thing I can criticize is the amount of white you've used on the horse. Oh, and the amount of conflicting textures throughout the horse, particularly the legs. Other than that, everything else is pretty solid. The rider looks very reminiscent to the one I had built two years ago (for BBC#71). Pretty spiffy stuff!
  13. Stunning work. One of the most inspired builds I've ever seen. This would definitely rank among the best revamps I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Flawless concept and execution, I have to say.
  14. Thank you! In reality they look a bit more bulked up (particularly the lower legs), but I didn't want to highlight that area of the MOC because it's my least favorite overall. Adding any more bulk would have risked looking more cluttered, and my limited supply of this particular shade of brown didn't help, either. Looking at the MOC now, I realize that there might be some simple solutions I could implement. Unfortunately, they will probably have to wait another year since I'm moving away from home for graduate studies and I left all my LEGO behind
  15. Thank you for the front page feature, BZPower! You're the reason I keep building as hard as I do Thank you! I actually tried to use as little System as possible, with the main focus being CCBS and the older Ben 10 pieces in brown, as well as a few Bionicle parts here and there. Glad you liked it. My main focus was to make him look as organic as possible, even at the expense of slightly awkward proportions (the arms are a bit longer than they should be, ngl ) Expect a few more MOC's by the coming week!
  16. Glad you guys liked it. I think I'll pass on mythology-inspired MOC's for the time being. I still have quite a few ongoing projects which I want to complete before September. I'm currently working on some video game character renditions which hopefully will turn out quite awesome.
  17. New MOC's coming soon. Brace yourselves, BBC!

  18. I don't know about this one. The textures, while impressive in their own right, fail to evoke the attributes of a demon. I, like many others, would have definitely appreciated spikes used differently on this guy. That's not to say he's not pretty cool (or hot -see what I did there? XD) but it feels like the smoothness takes away from the overall appeal. I'm sure you have plenty of other cool ideas and even more impressive executions, and I hope my comments are of any use to you.
  19. My favorite memory on BZPower was during the beginning of my activity within this community. It was several years back, right after Gen 1 of Bionicle had officially ended. The community started theorizing about how we could play our roles in shaping our own reimagining of the Matoran Universe, which ultimately gave rise to the conception of the Expanded Multiverse. This ambitious project invited the collaboration of the BZPower community, in the form of MOC submissions, artwork, story segments, in what became a massive and complex scaffolding for a large-scale fan-fiction. Sadly, however, that didn't last for very long, as the project rapidly lost interest, leading to its untimely demise. So, my favorite memory on BZPower was when I used to participate in the Multiverse contests, and creating a backstory for my entries which meshed together within the Multiverse's lore. It was fun to "draw within the lines" in a sense, using the template of the Multiverse to fit my creations within it. I remember trying really hard to create meaningful MOC's that served a story purpose. Thank you, BZPower, for your many years of being the go-to community for all things Bionicle. Here's to many more years.
  20. Definitely bears a resemblance to the source material. Though I do question the method you used to build the weapon, particularly the blade angles. Good MOC, nonetheless.
  21. Glad you like it! I admit it was quite challenging to work with this specific color palette, due to the limited availability of these colors in my collection.
  22. This definitely breaks the mould, as in shatters it with its massive jaws! I dig it, but I really don't see that much of Rorzakh in it, unlike some of the other MOC's in your collab. Nevertheless, it looks nice and polished, and the photos are masterfully taken, so props for that I guess? And I'm guessing this marks your gradual return to our forums? In that case let me welcome you back
