  1. Oh hey there big guy! I have to commend you on the creative use of the Pridak heads as claws. I also happen to like those bloodied wings. I do have to say, though, that the overall MOC could stand to get "cleaned up" quite a bit, even though you've intended for it to be a monstrous "Toa-turned oceanic creature". Overall, though, it's a refreshing change from the plethora of CCBS "clones" you see nowadays.
  2. It's actually got a lot going for it. I like where the chest was going. My suggestions are to make the shoulders quite a lot bigger and to give it thicker arms and legs.
  3. One thing I forgot to mention was the photography... seriously good stuff there!
  4. I would begrudgingly take the cash, seeing as I am really desperate for money right now :/ Not that it wouldn't hurt. It would. Like a B****! Anywhoooo, Million bucks but you would never see your parents ever again. Dunno if someone's asked that, cause CBA going through the whole topic.
  5. The Pearl Gold Avohkii is stunning! Though I would imagine the 2008 Avohkii to suit this color better. Anyways, I honestly don't like the shaping in some areas, and how the gold droops down his sides like a coat of sorts. It's a cool MOC nevertheless, as always.
  6. I quite like this, actually. Really aesthetically coherent and pleasing. I also quite like the chest print. All things considered, it does look a bit bland, but that's really a minor qualm.
  7. The Lego designers pour their heart and souls into the sets they design (which is also probably an expensive procedure with all the redesigns and audience tests...), and having some clowns come up and to downright steal those designs, and sell them for themselves, Lego is not just losing money because Lepin is eating up their clients, Lego's rights are being trampled here. You've made an excellent point there about the effort and cost of set design, which I have to agree with. I'm glad LEGO is doing something about its intellectual property rights, especially with how close these forgeries are to real LEGO sets in terms of aesthetics and parts quality. I really do hope LEGO manages to make an example of Lepin, even though similar companies are nowhere near as popular as LEGO is.
  8. Finally, your long awaited and much anticipated WIP has been completed! I really love the feel of it, and ever since I saw the first drafts I knew you were on to something great. Though I would have liked to see these motifs on the engine of a ship instead, I can live with your awesome vig. Stay awesome!
  9. The shoulders make all of them look really awkward, as though they're locked into an indefinite shrug. The models also look too similar to their original counterparts. Good job on working more articulation into their frames though.
  10. The only other reason I build digitally is when I don't actually have access to my LEGO at that time. I guess that kinda falls under the "Build without constraints of having enough physical LEGO bricks" category. It's mainly lack of bricks/prototyping for me. LDD for me. I have used LDraw and a few others long long ago, but have found LDD generally the easiest to use. Overall it's a great tool, and my only issues with it are; a) It has a really narrow Field of Vision (FoV) which can make viewing the model difficult. b) Lots of bricks that I would like to use aren't on the list. Generally these are older pieces that are no longer used in current sets, so I can understand why I LOVE LEGO Worlds. Will I still import models into the game rather than building them in LEGO Worlds? Probably. I find the controlling the building process in 3nd person pretty difficult, and find it a lot more difficult to navigate to the bricks I want to put use. As I have to use the lowest resolution settings possible to play the game, it can often be difficult to tell which brick I'm selecting (a 2x2 black plate looks pretty similar to a 4x4 black plate when your resolution is 640x480 px...) I can't say I've ever looked for a website about this. I guess the closest thing I've experienced was visiting other players properties in LEGO Universe, where awesome properties would be visited in huge parties to check the place out. Is it not as exciting as physical building? I don't think that's the issue. It's a different experience entirely. With physical building, you're searching to find that piece you need at the bottom of the tub, and if you can't find it/don't have it you have to improvise some other way of achieving the build. It's also a lot easier to randomly build something when bricks are in your hand. With digital building you've got to be pretty clear from the beginning what you want to achieve. The process I find is more that I'm having to find more ways to make the build more efficient, use more effective methods, and perfect any snot/sideways techniques that I might not have the pieces to do in a real set. I couldn't disagree with your last point more. It's much easier to generate concepts in LDD, and is almost always simpler to substitute parts for others in LDD vs real life. In LDD it's much easier to make different iterations of a certain design, so the refinement process is definitely less complicated. To each his own, I suppose. That doesn't change the fact that physical LEGO is my one true passion in life
  11. I'm a huge fan of digital building. I mostly use LDD and render using Bluerender whenever I feel the urge to do so. LDD allows me to escape the confines of a limited inventory and colour palette, offering me more bricks than I would have in real life and allowing infinite amounts of the same brick to be added. I also find that building in LDD is just as fun as building in real life. An added benefit of LDD is its huge potential when it comes to collaborating with other builders. For instance, TheOneVeyronian and I jointly built a massive chess board populated by characters from light and dark factions. Even though we've never met in person, using this medium has allowed us to produce an incredible piece of art that could not have been made otherwise. I see great potential in LDD as not just a stationary building tool, but also for its world-building possibilities. Granted, I have never attempted to import LDD models into game engines or anything like that, but it's something that I would love to try in the near future.
  12. Luckily I still had the packages around, but there was nothing inside them. I'll scour my build area for a lost piece, but this also wouldn't be the first time a part has been neglected to be put into a CMF. :/ I should have double checked the inserts, though I'm fairly confident in my knowledge of CMFs. Hmm... -CF Anything you can do in terms of contacting TLG about a missing part? I know people have approached them about missing parts from other sets before. Plus, wouldn't the minifig list contain a pic of him holding the spear anyway? It's not like TLG would pass that off as something he has when it isn't incorporated into the set in the first place Also, that would be one way to feel for the character.. unless they choose to place the spear in a really tricky place hahaha
  13. They're all pretty alright, but my favorite by far is Epolim. I particularly like the photography background as well; brings out their colors delightfully!
  14. The Flying Warrior definitely has a golden spear. I know that because I have him. You probably need to check the packaging again if you still have it. Otherwise, I hate to tell you this buddy but you just lost a really cool piece :/ The Fright Knight and the Schweinsteiger are the other two I have, and one of them is really cool (gonna let you guess which one though ).
  15. The jaw does move and a fair bit As for the elbows. I used 3 of those hinge plates and they have some friction in the real life model. Though the weight of the torso sometimes causes them to bend to far when I move the dragon for posing. I haven't come up with a better solution that still gets this good a shape to the legs. If they ever make a plate version of these I'l gladly switch out for them. http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=30540#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=30541#T=C Wouldn't that be these?: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=44302#T=C http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=44301#T=C But those do look to be more powerful indeed. No, because those are vertical; the orientation of the joints in the limbs is horizontal. This has certainly improved a great deal since the very first versions. Though I'm not too crazy about how dense some of the parts look. I'm now tempted to make one of those!
  16. Well it's certainly got a lot of character, but it looks far too strange to fit with the dimensions of the MOC. Maybe something smaller and more dog-like would do the trick?
  17. One thing I would have to disapprove of is the crossbow design tbh. It seems like it wouldn't be entirely capable of propelling any projectiles forward. Perhaps if some elastic bands or flex rods were used, that would improve it quite a bit. But I understand the ruthlessness of purism at times, so I'll let this one slip. Into a target perhaps? XD Probably not since it's not capable of launching anything Everything else about the MOC is how I envisioned a hunter to be, with a sufficient toolbelt to match
  18. Can't say I share everyone's sentiment on this. I feel it could have turned out a lot better with more trans-blue and possibly less Technic. I know that goes against your building paradigm but it's something you might want to consider if you ever intend to revamp this. It's a cool MOC, don't get me wrong. Just too CCBS and bland to my liking.
  19. I'd go for Boundaries, since it reminds me of a Yu-Gi-Oh card called Armades, Keeper of Boundaries. His artwork had an elemental aura that combined the two powers. Back on topic, cool MOC's you got there. Especially the protectors; Idk why but I feel Waha looks a bit cluttered.
  20. I really like how this turned out, if only slightly unsure of how small the chest turned out to be. Excellent head though, really faithful to the leaks!
  21. Care to share which power metal album that was? Aside from that, NPU everywhere as usual, used to achieve stunning results. Congrats in advance XD
  22. Well, he's definitely cooler than the original (pun observed and repeated for lack of a better phrase). I do like the weapon, but it looks quite impractical to use. Plus, the OCD in me would want something a lot more geometrically organised, potentially involving a 3-axle connector piece, one we see plenty more of than we used to. Oh and if only you'd used some of Strakk's elemental shoulderpads, or the snowflake ones that came with Gelu. Now that would have been truly sub-zero. Oh and one last remark: the back could use some more 'stuff'... not sure what exactly though. Overall, a pretty solid looking figure that has managed to send chills down my spine (pun intended).. although that could be the snow falling right outside my house hahaha XD By the way, having seen some of your other MOCs, I find your use of colour impeccable. Definitely looking forward to more!
  23. Thank you guys! I'm not entirely sure what an animation cel is. Could you please elaborate? Appreciated! I was keen on getting the distribution of colors right, and seeing people approve of it tells me that I'm on to something!
  24. Woah, what an imposing looking fellow! If only you'd built it bigger and given him some digitigrade legs and less humanoid feet. Loving those dreadlocks though, and the color blocking is on point! Overall a really cool looking character that could stand to get some more mass.
