  1. You end up traveling halfway around the globe to see a movie called "All Of My Old Friends". It sucked. Hard. You can't get a refund, and you're now in a country you had zero interest in visiting. I wish for a nice hot bowl of noodles.
  2. Hey bud, I'm not one to get my pants in a knot just because of a difference in opinion over a movie. You're good and all your points are fair. Besides, while I didn't list it in my post, I do think the whole Force Superman thing was silly myself. I guess the idea was that she hadn't truly tapped into her Force abilities until experiencing extreme pressure, but I wish there was a better way to convey that, both story-wise and visual-wise. I seriously could not watch that scene without John Williams' Superman theme in my head. (Williams does Star Wars too, so I guess it's still fitting) To be honest, I had written that on the very day I saw the movie, so my immediate feelings on the movie were probably getting in the way. No doubt my opinions would change if I saw it a second time.
  3. A lo fi hip hop stream on YouTube. You know the ones, where they use an anime gif as the video. Lately, my nights at home haven't been complete without running those in the background as I try to sleep.
  4. Right now, I'm in the middle of binging Transformers Prime. Out of all the Transformers cartoons I have watched, this one easily has the best writing so far. I love and hate Smokescreen at the same time, because he reminds me so much of me. Both his best and worst aspects. I don't believe anyone should feel ashamed for what they like in terms of entertainment (as long as it's not legitimately a danger to others, of course). I have this thing that I live by which is that I'll never judge you for what you like, only how you go about it. I believe that people are entitled to any opinions and tastes that they want, as long as they can go about it without being dangerous or toxic. Honestly, that's why I'm pretty open about my "weirder" interests such as anime and K-pop. I've had people lose respect for me solely for liking those things. I'm just a guy watching shows and listening to music that makes him happy. They're the ones getting their panties in knots over me enjoying those things on my own time (which doesn't affect them in any way), and yet they act like I'm the one with the problems. Therefore, I act open about it as sort of a way to weed out who I should spend time with or not; If my mere liking of these genres is enough to make you lose respect for me, then yeah, stay away from me and/or let me know so that I don't have to waste my time with you anymore. That's what that little Japanese idiom in my sig means. It's pronounced "Juu Nin To Iro" ("Ten people, ten colors". When there are ten people present, there are ten different minds present, each of which is their own). It's literally a Japanese version of "different strokes, different folks". After work, I took my mom out to dinner (I think she's been getting stir-crazy, and I currently have no girlfriend to spend the day with, so why not?) and then went to bed as soon as I got home. It was honestly really nice.
  5. A favorite Japanese idiom of mine: 10 people 10 colors. (In other words: To each their own.)

  6. A stained glass window-style piece of art, likely related to Lord of the Rings.
  7. 4/5 Only seen you in CoT but I see you here all the time. Can't say I know you too well though.
  8. As long as it's related to K-pop and fits in BZP's rules, bring it this way! Post your favorites! Feel free to share song cover videos, dance cover videos, stories about your experiences with the genre and the fandom, whatever. A few guidelines: Keep the fandom wars out of here. I don't care if you're old guard or new guard, boy band or girl group fan, ARMY or EXO-L, whatever. We're all K-pop fans here, let's just enjoy the genre together. So what if someone likes a group you don't like, or dislikes your stan/bias group? Let them be.No bashing. If you absolutely must express your criticisms of a group or even the genre as a whole, do so in a way that is respectful and constructive.Let's avoid discussing the politics of the industry. I'm pretty sure that's a recipe for disaster, especially around these parts. Now, about me. Discovered it in 2006 through BoA and a few hip hop artists (Drunken Tiger, for instance). Sorta forgot about it from 2006-2010 until a friend showed me Abracadabra. Consistently became a fan of the genre between 2011-2016. Jumped on the Gangnam Style hype train in 2012, but now I hate that song because of how much it was milked. Went borderline Koreaboo in 2013 (never went full Koreaboo). Did dance covers for college talent shows between 2013-2016. Was very on-and-off in 2017 because I was losing my spark with it, and it was starting to feel very "been there, done that". Very slowly getting back into it because Red Velvet's new stuff are my jams. I don't like to just identify as one fanclub (SONE, ARMY, EXO-L, whatever). I just like whatever appeals to me. I don't have any strong dislike towards any group. While I genuinely respect the current industry giants BTS and Twice, and like a good chunk of their songs, I personally find them overrated. I think they're good at what they do, but I personally don't see what makes them stand out as much as everyone is making them out to. If someone would like to enlighten me, please feel free to. All that said, let's talk!
  9. Sounds like a British expression, but with a couple of letters slapped on at the beginning.
  10. Green green square, a pleasant ghost, Ganto e-mail, make us some toast!
  11. Your name written in Matoran script on a green square with...things coming out of it.
  12. The same mask that most of the non-Toa G2 characters wear, in green.
  13. What is bus surfing? I believe it's when you stand in a moving vehicle without holding onto any of the safety railings, while trying to keep your balance. Used to do it on trains all the time. 'Twas fun. To stay on topic, now I'm reminiscing on college times when I used to go downtown on a regular basis just to mess around and have fun. I should do that again as soon as I have more free time. That's what I'm thinking.
  14. I will never judge you for what you like. Only how you go about it.

  15. So he's Master Roshi instead? Isn't Roshi scrawny as heck, though? I have several questions and I doubt I actually want to know the answer to any of them Swole Roshi is a transformation that he used maybe once in the original series, then used again in Resurrection F (though IIRC, in that movie he acted more as a strategist than brute force). I think he uses it in the Broly movie too but to no effect. I like Onua as Master Roshi.
  16. There are certain battles in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2's story mode where you can win by whittling the opponent's health down to a certain amount rather than just killing them (like when you're fighting a character who dies later on in the anime). I'd imagine fighting infected/krana Lewa would be like that. Just get his health bar down to a certain amount and then cut to a cutscene where his infected mask or krana gets knocked off. Or if the game can register different damage areas (head, torso, limb, etc), there are two health bars (one for Lewa himself and one for the mask). Hitting his face or head registers as the mask getting damaged instead of Lewa himself. Hit him anywhere else and his main health bar goes down. If you get his regular health down before destroying his mask, you kill him and fail the mission. But to make it a little more generous, the mask's health bar is significantly shorter than Lewa's own. As for how he fights you, you'd probably have to do a lot of dodging; he could shoot wind blasts (basically like a Kamehameha from his axe) and create tornadoes. He'd also probably be really mobile, jumping around and occasionally even coming at you directly with his axe.
  17. Dude, I love Titan Masters. I don't have very many (only own deluxe Hot Rod and Triggerhappy, and for individual TMs I have Nightbeat and Shuffler). Also on the Autobot side, Ramhorn is now a Titan Master instead of a tape. But to Hasbro/Takara's credit, he looks pretty cool as a Titan Master too. I'm a little miffed that Titans Return is being phased out now, since I only got into buying them a month ago. But hey, the Prime Masters are fun little guys. I can't wait for the rest of them to be released. Also, Micronus is a little bit of a pegwarmer where I come from, so I'm thinking of getting another one to customize, likely into another Pretender character. Waverider, maybe? (AKA Diver for any Masterforce fans reading this)
  18. Hey guys, so I'm on a Transformers kick lately. Long story short, started as a kid exposed to Robots in Disguise (vis Fox Kids) and G1 (through DVDs, though only Season 1) at the same time. Got on the Armada train right after (Armada Starscream is still one of my favorite Transformer characters period). Lost interest when Energon came out (let's just say my inner Armada fan was disappointed by it). Got back into it when Bayformers became a thing in 2007. Watched most of the important bits of G1 after finding out that there was more than just the first season (certain S2 episodes, the Movie, and certain S3 episodes). Rewatched those again over this past week. I saw The Rebirth recently and while the animation wasn't that great and the story was meh, I accepted it for what it was. I've seen bits and pieces of the Japanese G1 seasons, and while I don't think very highly of Headmasters, I'm willing to give Masterforce and Victory a chance. I started watching Prime not too long ago (Finished Season 1, starting 2). I love it. It brings back some G1 nostalgia (having both Peter Cullen and Frank Welker helps) but it's really updated for more current times and audiences. While it still has a lot of the trappings of a kids' show, I feel like it insults the viewer's intelligence way less than any of the past series I was exposed to. (No disrespect to G1, but let's be honest here it was not a "smart" series) I also like the recent toys even though I only have a few. Titans Return Hot Rod with Shuffler's head stands proudly on my desk at home. Triggerhappy has a cool design too so I have him too. I haven't been too exposed to Beast Wars so I don't have much to say about it. I did start watching it way back in 2008 but I lost interest in Transformers altogether when i was really early in it. I've seen the Japanese Beast Wars II movie though. It wasn't great, but Lio Convoy is one of the coolest-looking Transformers ever. I may give it a chance again after I finish with Prime.
  19. Transformers useless trivia time! The original American run of the Transformers toyline was appropriated from multiple Japanese toylines, mainly from the toy company Takara. Officially, the brand is jointly owned by Takara (in Japan and some other Asian regions) and Hasbro (everywhere else). That's why some of the cartoons are American and some of them are more like Japanese anime. In Japan, Optimus Prime is called "Convoy" because the original Japanese toy that would become Optimus Prime was called "Battle Convoy". They stopped doing this when the Michael Bay movies became a thing. Now he's called "Optimus Prime" there too, but they still use the name "Convoy" for toys specifically aimed at older fans and collectors. The G1 cartoon ended with a 3-parter after Season 3 called "The Rebirth" which introduced Headmasters and Targetmasters to the canon. The Japanese dub completely ignored The Rebirth and animated three entire seasons which were only aired in Japan and Southeast Asia. The Southeast Asian broadcast of the Japanese G1 seasons was dubbed in English by the Hong Kong-based Omni Productions (a company known for badly dubbing kung fu movies), leading to faulty translations and subpar-at-best voice acting. Sixshot, who is the Decepticons' "Ninja Staff Officer" in the Japanese continuity, is infamously translated as "Sixshot, the Ninja Consultant". The Japanese version gave the G1 Headmasters completely different backstories. In America, Headmasters are organic people who wear an armor suit that transforms into a head, while the original Transformer's consciousness is in their headless body. In Japan, the head is the Transformer robot him/herself, and the body is a lifeless robot called a Transtector. The "Powermaster Optimus Prime" toy became a different character in Japan called Ginrai (pronounced Jinrai), a Japanese-American truck driver who is forcibly bonded to his truck, which turns out to be a Transtector resembling Optimus Prime. The Powermaster concept is reworked into the Godmaster concept in Japan, where a human transforms into a car engine and fuses with their Transtector, making them into a Transformer. Ginrai's ultimate combination form is called "God Ginrai". In Japanese, this is written so that omitting every other character results in "Gojira/Godzilla". Go-d(do) Ji-n-ra-i. The Transformers Armada toy of Red Alert has a function where he has an electronic sound that goes "RED UH-LERT! WOO-WOO-WOO-WOO-WOO". This became a Transformers fandom meme during Armada's original run.
