  1. For the members of this site who haven't been recently browsing my blog, I've started a project to make illustrations and maps of the locations throughout the official BZPRPG (using 2013 gameplay as the reference). I've gathered a massive amount of information on architecture and approximate building locations, and have begun working on a large aerial map of Po-Koro, but at an angle so the buildings "pop up" from their blocks. To prepare for the millions of little roofing tiles I'll be drawing I did a small sample. Unfortunately the art is a little too big to view directly on this site, so please enjoy AFTER THE JUMP. ~Kughii

    fun fact

the BRPG forum has more posts in it than in COT and OTC combined ... it's useless to resist join the BZPRPG
  3. So it finally happened, I actually managed to somehow get myself a tablet. No longer am I slave to the mouse, I can now create art without the limits of clicking. And so, to celebrate, I went and used the heck out of it. After so a few hours of caffeine, dubstep mixes, and several sore necks, I got this: (Link; large file size) A quick pic of one of my BZPRPG characters, Zauk. A Toa of Lightning who lives in Ko-Koro as a trapper and hunter. Well, before he went out on a personal vendetta against Makuta and the Master of Shadow's followers. Which resulted in him going more or less insane. I suppose here he's leaving Ko-Koro, looking out into the world and being contemplative and stuff. Don't remember how long it took for me to make it, though it's completely digital with Photoshop. No line art whatsoever, though it's probably a bit obvious with the wonky proportions and the like. Really was an experiment, all of it. Woo tablets~
  4. "...other than it bein' four feet lower than mine." I mean really, seriously one of the best quotes in the entire game. A request by our esteemed role-player Ghosthands over some tea and biscuits/physics and quantum mechanics discussion, I don't think I could say no to something like this. And so, without further ado, I give you the most savvy, swashbucklin', death-defyin', good-lookin', alcohol-drinkin', one-liner-droppin', sword-duelin', marine-insultin', ship-sailin', gold-thievin', lady-wooin', Infernavika-captainin' Lesterin pirate that ever did grace the waters of Mata Nui with his handsome mug. If you don't know this face by now, well... I had a lot of fun making this. At this rate, I'll end up drawing the entire crew. I've got my own ship, too boot. luv ya ghostie keep on making glorious lohkar posts
  5. Hello members of the Kumu Islets expedition plot! I'd like to hear you're ideas for what happened during the time skip as a comment below. I will morph the official outcome of our adventures in this post as our comments grow. Once we've decided, we can get on with the RPing. Thanks, Kughii THE KUMU ISLETS, What Happened During the events in the lighthouse, the cannibals were finally eradicated by the upper level survivors, despite the attempts at peace talks by the Marines. However, the onu-lesterin who led the marauding group of bottomless stomachs wounded Corporal Mons Shajs with shots from his technologically advanced weapon. Shajs was returned to the Invincible, and seemed to recover quickly from his wounds. Little did he know what was in store. The refugees led by Gabel began to fight amongst themselves over who could sail back to the mainland first, leading to a large scale elimination of most of the population. In the fighting, Vice-Captain Iraira's old injury flared up and she received a gash to her bad leg. (If you want to receive wounds from combat, this is the time to do it.) Gabel was KIA, the onu-lesterin was captured and imprisoned on the Infernavika after a successful ambush by members of Lohkar's crew. (The Angler's fate is now up to Ghosthand's: does he live, die, or get sent to prison with the Marines, or something entirely different?) The lighthouse remained, haunted by the temple squid, as a location marker on the nautical maps made by the dive team. Iraira made plans for the new koro to be erected under Ga-Wahi's protection. Everyone not dead sailed back to Ga-Koro, where they have since returned to daily activities. Kavala is in Ga-Koro prison, calling for a trial against his treatment by the explorers.
  6. In the BZPRGP Profile pages post, Nuju Metru lists the elements that Toa/Turaga/Matoran are allowed to be. The second one he lists, is "Crystal". After scanning bionicle wiki and BS1, I couldn't find anything on the subject, what is the elemental power of crystal?

    Home

Iraanus’ boat glided lazily over the surface of the ocean, barely leaving a wake as it drifted further and further from Ga-Koro. He was supposed to be fishing, catching… something. It didn’t really matter what, as long as they could serve it back at the Takea. Most restaurants bought their fish in the market, of course, but the Horde had been broke even before they’d bought the property the Takea was built on. The Ga-Koronan government had given them a bit of compensation for their aid in the defense and rebuilding of the city, but it wasn’t much. At Rhow’s request, they hadn’t done much merc work, either. “Unsavory clients,” she’d said. Didn’t help that half of them were still recovering from their injuries; Rhow certainly was in no condition to fight, and a couple others weren’t doing much better. The Takea, at least, was doing well – surprising for a Skakdi-run business – but when it came down to it, they had about as much now as they’d had when they got here. Which was also known as nothing.Iraanus cast the net over the side of the boat, not really focusing on the task; he’d done it often enough in the past three weeks to know what he was doing. Three weeks… that’s how long they’d been in Ga-Koro. Seemed like a karzahni of a lot longer. Already they’d bought property, started a restaurant, made connections. Settled down. Three weeks ago he’d laughed at the idea. Now they had a home. But what was a “home,” really? He gazed out at the horizon, staring at it as though looking long enough and hard enough would reveal what lay beyond it. Following the defeat of the rahkshi, his memories of the past had flooded back. There were still pieces missing, but on the whole he remembered – remembered who he was, remembered where he was from. Beyond the horizon lay another home.Briefly, an image of the Islets flashed into his mind. He and Rhow had propelled a broken boat from Xa-Koro to the mainland using the water itself – as far as Iraanus knew, they’d been the last to escape the Islets before they’d exploded and sunk. Well, aside from those other three ships… Yeah, they’d still have to look into that. Anyway, the point was they could do it again, probably, if they wanted to. Iraanus waved a hand at the ocean. For once, the water didn’t obey. In some ways, it was kind of a nice change. But with Rhow’s help – with the help of any of them, or all of them, even – they could sail for home. But again, what was a “home”? A month ago he’d have laughed, said it was something they didn’t have, never could have. Did they even need one? Of course not. Right? He sighed as he turned back to the net and hauled it into the boat. A decent catch. It’d be enough. He angled the boat back for Ga-Koro, listening in silence to the waves lapping against the craft’s sides.

    Hau

Woo, aaand another BZPRPG character, this time Vo-Toa Hau, who doesn't actually have a Hau (And his Miru is actually a Kakama), and has so much swag that it took me a while to get it all down. And I still didn't get all of it. Really like how it came out, though the perspective is a bit wonky in some places... : Watchout for large file size and all that...
  9. Well this is a moc of my friend CeeCee's character in the BZPRPG: You can guess how hard it was to make a white and red Skadi, which looks semi-good, but I think i did a pretty good job in capuring the described bulkyness and normalness. And I'm proud to say the upper leg parts are custom. Also, this was unlike Zahkon an experiment on design and part usage, this was more playing with colors:http://www.flickr.com/x/t/0095009/photos/92758511@N04/sets/72157633609202594/C & C Appreciated(Yes, pun intended )

    Atrin

So a small something that I've been working on for a certain friend of mine who may or may not be getting a year older today. Anyway. Here's Atrin, Valkyr who transformed from a Toa of Sonics who was completely badbutt. 'nuff said. Despite saving as a .jpg, the file is still quite large. Took me about two hours to sketch completely, and another two to color in Photoshop CS5. The only thing I'm not satisfied with is the symmetry. I mean, it's pretty bad. But it's a present. And I need to get myself a tablet to color these better. krayzikk mah bro happy birthday (and so then he goes and messes with it, and comes up with this and this, and i must say, um. wow. Like, really wow.) As always, C&C welcome.
  11. Good evening, role-players. Please find all the news updates from this past season in this blog post for your convenience. Feel free to discuss items here, and if someone wants to port this over to the Wiki, that's perfectly fine with me. Happy new season everyone! -------------------- Mata-Nui Daily Rahkshi! On the day that Toa Ketan was to assume leadership of Ga-Koro, one of their own unveiled a twisted plot to control the floating village and use its people of dark ambitions. Shortly after the revelation, fighting broke out and is continuing currently. Stayed tuned for updates. Makuta's Servants Repelled: After what seemed like a hopeless fight, group of fearless defenders not only held back the monsters and servants from the Kini Nui, but eventually disabled or forced them into retreat. Shortly after the battle ended, however, the mysterious Toa of Light disappeared. Toa of Light and Friends Stand Up to Makuta's Might: Between powerful Rahi and clever servants, the Kini Nui's fate looked bleak. However, Toa have flocked to the Suva to help a Toa of Light defend it from the Makuta's servants. Bright Light Seen From Center of the Island: There have been many reports of an explosion of light coming from the Kini Nui area. This has also coincided with a slight decrease in Rahi activity. Stay tuned for future updates. Po-Koro Saved From Bizarre Attack: A strange flying object was seen hovering over Po-Koro, seeking to wreak havoc it seems. Such a bold attack resulted in a harrowing response from a team of Toa who, after a struggle, were able to bring down the massive aircraft. Kumu Islets Destroyed: Heroes, theives, and civilians alike a still stunned by the absolutely devastating attack on the Kumu Islets. What began as a normal day for the southern village turned into a nightmare as explosions rocked and eventually sank the islets. Many are simply bewildered at who prompted this attack and why; many people who were allied with Makuta made their homes in Xa-Koro, thus erasing the likelihood of an attack from the same people behind the North March cablecar destruction. So who WAS behind the attack? Fighting Continues in Pala-Koro: It seems more attacks have been thrown towards the ILF. We have not yet confirmed whether the fighting is against more Makuta followers or other enemies. An Offer to Improve Le-Koro: It seems the Toa Arete's work in Ga-Koro has led to the idea spreading. Now, the Cultured Gentry seeks to do the same to Le-Wahi, improving Le-Koro's military and rebuilding everything that has been destroyed or damaged in the last several months, including even Pala-Koro. Stay tuned to see how this deal turns out. Island Liberation Front Defeated: The war that broke out a few nights ago ceased the following day, ending with scattering Pala-Koronans and a heavily damaged village. The opposing forces seemed to have been satisfied with their work, and they moved into the jungle as quickly as they came. The leader of the ILF's location is currently unknown, as is whether the Front will recover from this devastating blow. Toa Team Wanted: A group of Toa known as the Toa Massi are being wanted for extensive damage to Ga-Koro, making threats to shopkeepers in Ko-Koro, and several crimes in Onu-Koro. The reward for their capture is 10,000 widgets. War! Pala-Koro was ambushed in the night by a group of Makuta worshippers. After a period of fighting and killing, parts the walls of the Island Liberation Front's village appeared to explode. Fires are still blazing and the area around Lake Pala has now been marked as an official War Zone. Villagers are urged to avoid the Laka Pala area until fighting ceases. Benefit Concert Postponed: The violent breakout in Pala-Koro worried concert planners to the point of them pushing back the wonderful sounds of the Windriders for one day. Cultured Gentry Chief of Operations Niici said that the outbreak was "disappointing, but inevitable, given the hostility and dogmatism of the two parties." The Chief sends her regards and prayers for the families affected by this brutal burst of violence. Ga-Koro's Economy Flourishes: Four new enterprises have opened up in the shining seas of Ga-Koro: The Ga-Koro Bounty Hunters' Guild, Kojar Art and Art Supplies, CosiMano Elemental Tutoring, and a Manuscript Copying Service. Between this and the rebuilt docks, Ga-Koro may be the most thriving village at present time! Windriders in Concert: Tickets are being sold in Le-Wahi for a reunion benefit concert starring the Windriders and including performances by Corciano and the Matoran Tarkis. Reserve your spot today by visiting the concert booth in Le-Koro Town Square. Ta/Ko Cablecar destroyed! Dozens Killed: Breaking news from our MND headquarters in Ta-Koro; The cablecar used bu many Guard members and approved passengers has been destroyed by what we believe may be a Makuta follower. Left in the hands of one of the victims of this terrible incident was this note: Anyone with any leads or clues should meet with the Ta-Koro Guard immediately. Please pray for the families of our victims. A Center for Peace? A Toa of Iron has built a small temple on the hills of Mt. Ihu. He is offering it as a refuge from the (possibly impending) war as well as a place for meditation. Concert in the Works: The Windriders, the Le-Koronan band known for providing music during Lewa's Golden Kanohi ceremony, is regrouping for a benefit concert. The Cultured Gentry is currently taking applications for opening musicians. If anyone is interested, make your way to Ko-Koro and set up an appointment at the Cultured Gentry info booth. New Toa Draws Attention from Villagers: Joske, the famed Ta-Matoran athlete, has been transformed into a Toa under mysterious circumstances in Ga-Koro. We are trying to get in touch with the Kolhii champion, but he has neglected to speak with anyone save a single Toa of Water. Wanted Toa: After two months of being frozen inside a Ko-Wahi cave, the dreaded Dark Toa Echelon has been freed from his icy prison. The Necromancer who helped Vidar kill Tamaru and kidnap Hafu walks Mata Nui once more... Wanted - Alive: The Po-Koro Guard has demanded the capture of an individual named Quoribay. Turning him over to the guard (alive) will get you 650 widgets. Hostage Crisis in Ko-Koro! The citizens of the icy village are in shock at the news of a savage hostage situation, orchestrated by the dark Shadow Hapaka. They demand 22000 widgets total for the 11 Matoran that they have in custody. The ILS (Island LIberation Squad) has tried to help, but has had little success. Turaga of Mata Nui Rescued: The turaga were captured by Makuta and infected with Parakuka. The ILS rescued them in the hive attack and the turaga are now being held in Pala Koro safely until their Parakuka can be removed. New Force for Good? A group called the ILS made a base named Pala Koro near lake Pala, and with many allies, destroyed the Nui Rama hive. A Bizzare Sight Near Naho Bay: Tarakava were seen massing in large numbers blockading Ga-Koro by the route to the sea. Numbers like these have not been seen since the Third Great Tarakava Raid. Civilians are nervous and the Marines are being tight lipped on whether or not a Fourth Great Tarakava Raid is possible. However Chief Head Commandant Kotu has recalled a great number of Marines from abroad to reinforce the city against a possible Rahi attack. "We're taking precautions but right now it's a standoff to see who blinks first." She said in a statement. Mass Murder: There have been reports of a strange Toa wandering throughout Ga-Wahi muttering of a strange brand on his shoulder before slaughtering everyone in the villages he enters. The Ta-Koro Guard is launching an investigation into the subject. Terror in Onu Koro: An unknown person has hurled an explosive into a crowded Onu-Koro bazaar. At least two deaths and multiple injuries have been reported. Onu-Koronans Beware! A number of strange murders have taken place in Onu-Koro, three out of four times with bodies being found on the doorstep of Thedar Chronn. Search Party: Enya, a female Toa of Fire, has disappeared from her hut in Ta-Koro. Honoring the Fallen: Toa Incommodo is having a funeral in Onu-Koro after an incredibly painful death. Attendance is free and food will be provided. Whenua to Pass Judgement on Murder Attempt: Whenua has been summoned in Onu-Koro to settle a murder dispute. Judgement and sentencing to be revealed next time! Maha Chucking! Kalama and his group of Toa were spotted at Golyo the Maha Herder's place for a small bout of chucking Mahas. What purpose this served is unknown but apparently it was a warm up for the Toa to defend Golyo's Maha herd against a group of hungry Nui-Jaga! The Scorpion Rahi were successfully beaten off in a dazzling display of Toa Martial prowess in which no elemental powers were used to combat the Jaga. Apparently a first in recent history! Kalama then was seen leading the unnamed Toa Team southwest toward Ko-Wahi. A clue to the location of the missing Kalama's Raiders? Batmen in Le-Koro! The species now confirmed as the Mystix who attempted some sort of takeover of Xa-Koro which ended in some kind of draw in which no clear side is the victor, have attempted an attack on Le-Koro! Members of the Gukko Force scrambled and quickly quashed the 'invasion' with the leader now in the devious hands of Turaga Matau. Hope for the Island? The Island Liberation Squad ( a group dedicated to freeing Mata Nui from Makuta's influence.) has begun constructing a new village on the shores of Lake Pala. Learning Center In the Works: An academy is currently being built in Ko-Wahi. Some have said that this academy intends to help students improve their skills and knowledge. More information will come as we get it. Po-Koro Infected: A conga of tribulations has befallen the stone village. Many citizens, including village elder Onewa, have fallen ill to the Makuta's infection. Matoran are currently looking for the cause of this outbreak. In the meantime, Hewkii has been named temporary leader of Po-Koro. Is Hafu Alive? Rumors have been spreading all over Po-Wahi about Hafu's ultimate fate. A thorough examination confirmed that the burned Po-Matoran is infact, a member of the Po-Koro Defense Force, meaning that Hafu has been taken away from Po-Koro. However, no one has been able to find the carver, and many of presumed him to be dead. The Defense Force refuses to make any final announcements regarding Hafu's death until a body has been found. Hafu Murdered: Hafu was electrocuted and burned by Ronkshou, Makuta's most powerful sapient servant. A traitor was partly responsible for Hafu's capture, and has been arrested. Ronkshou and the other servants have not been captured at this time. Disaster in Po-Koro! Makuta's most favored servants have waged an attack on the village of stone. They kidnapped the heavily guarded carver known as Hafu, likely to leave him to the same fate as Tamaru, another member of the Chronicler's Company. Hunter Become Hunted? The Shadow, an insane Vortixx who planned to kill every being on Mata-Nui, has disappeared, and is believed dead. Unknown Species Spotted: Mysterious winged creatures (Mystix) have been spotted in Onu-Koro. Attack from Mysterious Creatues: There was an attack on Xa-Koro from a strange group that some have called 'Mystix'. The situation is still being investigated. Marine Commanders Gives Status Update on Macku: Marine Commander Kalama finally set out to track down the rogue Ghekula unit Kalama's Raiders and their protectee' Macku. The unit went rouge with Macku following an attempted assassination after a successful assassination of Le-Koro's Tamaru. Hafu is under heavy guard in Po-Koro while Kopeke remains cut off from society. Two members, Kapura and Taipu, have not be seen recently. As for the rogue Marines, Chief Head Commandant Kotu had this to say: "I'm confidant that we can successfully locate this group and bring them back under control safely. I would advice the public however to remain cautious about venturing into the wilderness and please try to stick to the main roads until Kalama's Raiders have been successfully brought back into the fold. They are highly trained Special Forces and should not be engaged by anyone other than Kalama at this time." Accompanying the Commander and son of the Turaga were Tanuka, a local Toa of Water from Ga-Koro, Agarin, a Toa of Sonics, Kamaehu, a Toa of FIre, Cyrax, a Toa of Crystal, and surprisingly the would be assassin of Macku, Argentum, Toa of Magnetism. Skeptics have questioned this move wondering if he would attempt to murder Macku again while Marine Officials have said, "Kalama is aware of Argentum's attempt having personally brought the Toa down once. He will take the proper precautions to ensure it does not happen again." REOPENING OF Soli's Sword Forge: The following sign was posted in Ta-Koro: Battle Aboard the Infernavika: Miha(and co.) attacked the Infernavika in Ga-Koro. Execution Gone Wrong: An attempted public execution was stopped, when the guilty person who was to be executed escaped, with the help of two others. Interrogation: Macku's would be assassin was re-captured by a Toa Team while the Marines drove off a mercenary group that attempted to spring the assassin. The Marines have taken custody of the assassin and he is currently undergoing interrogation in Ga-Koro. Tensions due to all the recent fighting are high and Ga-Matoran are slowly becoming mistrustful of all the newcomers with news of Tamaru's death at the hands of a Toa. Fight in Ga-Koro: News of Tamaru's death reached Ga-Koro just in time to prevent the assassination of Macku. The assassin was brought down by Commander Kalama and the brave Marines of Ga-Koro. Turaga Nokama has since ordered for Kalama and his unit to take and hide Macku inland. While preparing, the assassin escaped custody and continued to rampage. Kalama leaped back into the fray with Toa of Water, Tanuka buying time for his Ghekula unit, Kalama's Raiders, to escape with Macku. The unit has since gone to ground with Macku and gone rogue. Their location is currently unknown. Assination in Le-Koro Square: Aexias has been publicly assassinated in the main square of Le-Koro, by the notorious assassin Zadron. Or has she...? A Tragic End: After a long battle outside Le-Koro, Tamaru, the Le-Matoran member of the Chronicler's Company, is dead. Echelon the Necromancer held off four Toa before being incapacitated, while Vidar - one of Makuta's most favoured - captured Tamaru, interrogated him, and killed him. Despite his fear of heights, the Matoran stayed brave and incorruptible until the very end. Serial Killer on the Loose: After serial killing Toa succeeded in murdering two Turaga the killer was arrested by by detectives from the Dark C Investigations agency. After an attempt at interrogation he was able to escape from the investigators and is now attempting to flee Onu-Wahi. Wondrous Discovery in Po-Wahi: A recently unearthed temple in Po-Wahi by Onu-Koroan archivists was seized by a group of renegades led by the Toa of Water "Lady Yorlonda". Lady Yorlonda is a well known private collector of ancient artifacts and is known for not necessarily having other people's well being at heart, using her finds to exert political power over the Koro's for her own gain. The Onu-Koroans were run off by the tomb raiders. The Onu-Koroan archivists run off by Lady Yorlonda's renegades were last seen talking to a freelancing tomb raider Tokain, a Toa of Stone, offering him payment if he could swipe some of the more ancient artifacts from the heart of the temple out of Yorlonda's hands. He was last seen in Ga-Koro attempting to recruit Ga-Koroan Marine Commander and Nokama's adopted son Kalama to aid him. Search for the Cure: A Vortixx named Fov, and a Toa named Brekan, were commissioned by Nokama to save a rare plant with medical properties. Wanted: A pirate named Odhran has been busy recruiting a crew. Naturally, authorities are hunting down this criminal, and any tips on his whereabouts would be greatly appreciated. A Vortixx named Sinezh and a Ta-Toa named Axeron are starting an assassins guild in Ko-Wahi. The cablecar from Ta-Koro to Ko-Koro is no longer usable. Keep this in mind when RPing from now on. The Great Mine is also still flooded. Remember this as well. Takua has met with the Oceanic Six, but were later ambushed by Rahkshi. Aurax was slain and Takua's whereabouts are unknown. Word is spreading about the benefit concert in Le-Koro: proceeds are said to be going towards improving and rebuilding Le-Koro. Sulov has been found, and he's being convinced by Reordin to join the Wanderer's Company The group of Makuta followers have migrated to Xa-Koro to complete a transaction with Ahkmou, the infamous Comet Ball Traitor. A Ko-Matoran named Reordin was found by a Matoran of Crystal named Aurax, and now five of the Six are gathered and are planning to look for an Onu-Matoran named Sulov. Echelon and several other Makuta followers met at the shrine in Ko-Wahi to discuss their plan to beat the ILS. While it took place, Ambages of the Cultured Gentry, and Ronkshou, one of Makuta's most powerful servants, appeared at the meeting. Ambages offered secrets to defeat the ILS and Ronkshou was there to offer medicine, equipment, and weapons. Joske, the famed Ta-Matoran athlete, has been transformed into a Toa under mysterious circumstances in Ga-Koro. The new Toa of Fire was immediately beset by many beings, causing him to have a dangerous outburst. Two fellow Toa of Fire, Merror and Agni, helped him come to terms with his new stature, Agni by offering him traning, and Merror by testing Joske to make him show control. He is currently under the care of Cael, a healer. After his encounter with Joske, Merror finally seems to have come to terms with his troubled past and decided to found a Toa Team to fight the forces of evil and provide the Matoran with a symbol of hope. Six Toa have already assembled: Merror, Skeldan, Skyra, Pirok, Weta, and Elianne. After receiving a vision from Makuta, Echelon the Necromancer has set about uniting the forces of darkness under one banner. Several of Makuta's disparate minions have already been gathered, and are planning an attack on the Island Liberation Squad, while another group plans to bring order to Xa-Koro - Makuta's order. Pirate Schism: The crew of the Infernavika, led by Raknar, have undergone a schism after they decided to go after the Mark Bearers. As the crew fell apart, the Infernavika's newest recruit, a sailor named Kelp, revealed himself to be none other than Captain Lohkar, original captain of the ship. Lohkar has relieved Raknar of his command, and agreed to help two former crewmates, Perkahn and Grochi, to hunt down the Bearers. Together, they managed to capture a bearer named Nikarra in order to get to Dorian, but the plan backfired with Dorian rescuing her. All members of the chroniclers company have now been removed from the game. Kopeke has been removed from the game. Onewa has fallen to the Makuta's Infection. 12. Man, so many good things this week: BZPRPG 2012 arc is finally over I'm working on fan games again Found at that the BZPRPG staff will likely be rolling deep at Brickfair VA (yes, I'll be attending this year). I scheduled a video interview with Google yesterday Found out today that I'll be moving to Austin, home of Rooster Teeth, Bats, Brick Fiesta (sometimes), and "Austin Java" (don't know much about that) because I accepted a job offer there. I'm still doing the Google Interview though; just to see how well I hold up. And we're not even halfway done with the week yet. Yay! Anyone else having awesome weeks?

    Perkahn

To pick up on sketching again, and as the result of some arc-finally stuff going on in the BZPRPG, here's another character. Dovydas' own Perkahn, Toa of Iron with a(n admittedly) large battle ax. Totally not my fault there, though. Unfortunately, Photoshop did something funny to the contrast of the texture layer while I was saving, so basically the texture got turned up to 11. Still looks good, so not complaining. Really quick sketch with about forty minutes spent on colour/shading. Satisfied with how it came out, though.

    Art Dump

Alright, so after my first piece with Mr. Embok, I decided to do a few more. All are in relatively the same style, which I'm liking very much. [Note: all links contain quite large files, though they have been converted to .jpg for reduced size] First off is Ketan, another BZPRPG character. Known by some as Greed, and leader of the "Toa Arete" who are currently protecting Ga-Koro. Well, they say that they're protecting the village. >:] Next two are random Toa. No real story or anything, I just wanted something to draw. First is a Toa of Iron with some glowing sword. Or something. Don't know what his Mask is, so whatever works. And this one's a Pakari Nuva-wearing Toa of Fire. His lower body isn't there because... it's obscured by intense out-of-focus flames. Yeah. This one here is actually a recolor of one of my older works, Toa of Ice Kethrye, which I wasn't entirely satisfied with. I'm happy with it colored in this new style, but the drawing itself could use some work... Still, he's running throught a blizzard, so it's okay. And this last one is one of my own characters for the Loophole RPG. He doesn't have a name yet, and not much is known about him. Well, besides the fact I used him once to dish out some Staff Hurt. Yes, he is a Toa of Air. Yes, that is a Vahi. Yes, he is from the future. And that's it. C & C greatly appreciated.

    Specter

So, it's been a while since I've posted anything new. ...by new I mean not an old piece I just now got around to coloring... Anyway, it's been even longer since I've posted any of my BZPRPG characters. And so, here's Embok. Mentally scared, stoic, dark, recently-turned-evil Toa of Plasma elementalist. This guy's had some things happen to him that, well... um yeah. He doesn't like angels, either. And he's mute. Because of an angel. [Large file size!] This was really only a quick ten-minute offhand sketch that I used to test out Photoshop CS6. C & C greatly appreciated.
  16. And I'm back with another BZPRPG character. This time it's Kal Grochi (Otter)'s character Raxa; master assassin sharpshootin' Toa of Crystal. Being the awesome friend that I am, I sorta kinda managed to get this done slightly a bit late... sorta... Yeah. Well, I was busy removing the crystal shards from my back after he shot me. Anyway, this is actually an older sketch that I finally got around to coloring. As such, the style is a bit different from my more recent works, but I'm very pleased with how this came out. Like. I'm seriously loving my own art. Is that a bad thing? Anyway, clickable thumbnail... (Warning: over 9 mb file size) I seriously had fun drawing this, and I only dislike the shadow, which I couldn't quite get right. Comments and criticism greatly appreciated.
  17. Years ago, a single person turned this universe upside down, and changed the lives he touched indelibly. In his past, he was a rising elite, trained to be an enforcer for the shadows that kept the universe blind from the corruption within; but a chance encounter led him to an awakening to the light and a mission to turn against the darkness that had infected the universe he called home. His life changed from one of darkness, death, hatred, destruction, and deception to of life, light, love, redemption, and restoration -- and he would give his own life time and again to restore what the universe lost when the shadows claimed power. For the first time in ten-thousand dark and aimless years, light exploded through the universe and a beacon of hope shone brightly, drawing many to its source. And those who found this source found themselves forever marked by it, connecting them to countless others who had also tapped into the source and claimed it as its inheritance. A revolution, the first successful one in as far back as anyone could remember, had begun; and those touched by the long lost light this stranger preached made an oath to finally purge the world of the oppressive dark order that had pervaded their universe for so long. So much of the story of this force of freedom fighters, these kin to the light, these inheritors of an inheritance known only to them, has been told a hundred times over, though no one knows the ending. None remain to tell the tale to its conclusion as it deserves to be told. ... until now. The story as you know it, dear guest, ended when this single person who spoke love and light into a world oppressed by darkness and hatred succumbed to the very fallen nature of the universe he gave his life to protect... by becoming one with a creature his followers thought was his most promising apprentice. This act restored part of his soul that had been split off from him after his last great sacrifice; he was made whole and it turned him into a literal hole in the spiritual fabric that connected his beloved followers to each other, to the universe, and the world beyond. In that moment, this charismatic spiritual leader transformed from a restorer to a destroyer... chaos incarnate. With one of his last moments of lucidity before becoming one with darkness, he confessed to his would-be rescuers that the shard of his soul that he reclaimed was his own personal darkness and he begged them to find him again to finish what he started in order to save the universe they, too, had sworn to protect... but he wasn't able to tell them everything before being consumed by rampancy. Ever heard of the 'Law of the Conservation of Energy', dear guest? The same applies to the light and to the dark. Any discarded excess has to go somewhere. This fallen leader of these kin to the light had started a process within his followers in an effort to make them suitable heirs; a process not unlike what their beloved universe was going through... and that process would grow them from those who were complacent in the shadows and transform them into shining paragons of light. But, after these nascent heroes have grown, matured, and purged themselves of their darkness, where would their old demons go? Surely, their old hosts would not welcome them... but a plan was put in place long before the madness set in. You see, the fallen leader's "apprentice" was the key to ensuring the collective freedom of these kin to the light from the shadows. Yes, these kin to the light knew this apprentice was a walking, talking black hole in the spiritual fabric; what they did not know was that it was also drawing into it the pain and the suffering the universe had accumulated over the millennia, and their own darkness as well, in a pre-programmed effort to become whole. And with a shard of this fallen leader's soul, a hero well known for his ability to give life to the lifeless, this primordial slime of the universe's collective darkness was given its own life and identity. By re-absorbing this wayward shard of his own soul, this fallen leader absorbed with it the very weight of the world, a weight that obviously no mortal soul could bear. Of course, by now, this fallen leader was no longer mortal at this point, and he had little to lose -- other than his mind -- by doing so. He knew exactly what he was doing, even though he knew it would cost him the trust of the those who followed his path, and perhaps, even sacrificing his immortality, permanently. In lucidity, he unified those who responded to the call of the spiritual planes. In madness, he remained in his duty to the universe. In both minds, he guided the kin to the light to their destiny the destiny they chose freely to pursue, an inheritance that they chose to earn and protect. It felt like years passed since that moment, all the events of that time condensed into a few hours; heroes were resurrected at the heart of the universe to fight once more, others called to arms and hurried to the forefront of the pursuit. All of them pledged to hunt down a man who was once their teacher and spiritual father -- now a monster and a literal symbol and vessel of everything they had sworn to purge from their universe. And this is where the story ended for many other threads in this universe. Some of those threads started anew elsewhere, and the threads that had no discernable ending were either forgotten or remembered as laughable children's fairy tales. To begin where the story left off, we'll be brief: the universe was ending. That was it. The universe was being devoured by the darkness and destruction that was both attracted to it from the outside and grown spiritually from within. Some of those who lived in this universe had resigned themselves to remain on the oroboros when the world was to be reborn and others had chosen otherwise. The kin to the light were part of the latter, convinced in and convicted of believing there was more beyond the universe of mortals. A Risen Angel. An Heir. An Assassin. A Genius. A General. A Mother. A Disciple. Seven scions to the fallen leader's legacy, their names forgotten to time, leading a small platoon of other now nameless heroes to the final confrontation with their lost teacher. Among these other heroes was a reborn bearer of life and another was a resurrected hero with the heart and mind of a child. It was in the final arena that the fallen leader gained one more moment of lucidity. The heroes were told everything in this moment; the truth behind his darkness and the nature of his mission to activate the last light within him. The last light that the fallen teacher carried was something he could not activate on his own, but his kin to the light were not ready to activate with him when he was last lucid. Only when they had become more than his equals on the path he had set for them would they activate the last light as it was intended to be activated... not as a weapon of ultimate demise, but a tool of definite rebirth. Now these heroes were paragons, and their journey was almost complete. "If a wise man sees a wild bird for sale, would he not buy it with the intent of setting it free? If the bird has forgotten how to fly, would not a wise man teach it to fly again? With this, I say, if a man buys a slave with the intent to set the slave free, would not the slave find another master if slavery is all the slave knows? A wise man would teach the slave to be a free man before giving the man his freedom, even if teaching a slave how to be free would cost him everything. This is what I had hoped to do for you. and those of you who stand before me, here to end what I have started, are now ready to claim the inheritance set aside for you. It will cost me everything, but I ask you as I have before -- Finish this fight, and return to save your world." The battle between the paragons and their fallen leader was one too epic for words to give justice to. Years passed since that time, and no account remains of the fight. It was simply that horrible. And then, as brutally as it began, it was over. A final prayer was spoken and in the aftermath, a broken body lay there in the middle of the room, the dark armor that symbolized this fallen leaders descent into the shadows and transformed his identity now lay shattered in a dozen pieces all around him. Some had lost their faith in that battle before that moment, absorbing their old darkness in combat, hissing that they hoped he was pleased by the pain he had caused and that he found whatever he was looking for. It was these who chose to walk through the portal the fallen leader had activated during the fight in a brief mortal urge to escape what he knew was the destiny he chose... and they continued to remain on the oroboros for eternity. Those who remained faithful forgave their fallen teacher as he did for so many before, and as per his last lucid request, these remaining paragons performed the activation protocols. In a flash of light, the remains of their fallen leader vanished, disintegrated as the last light activated in his stilled heart and coursed through his bloodless veins... and with their leader, their universe (as they knew it) was torn asunder. Demons, black and gray, descended upon the remains of the paragons, home, coming to whisk away any survivors back to the oroboros -- only to find themselves thwarted by an army of what seemed to be angels. Heroes of the kin to the light returned in new form, touched, empowered and reborn by their inheritance; as one they drove away the darkness and set to work rebuilding their universe as it should have been pure, innocent, and in peace. A cocoon of time and light surrounded the nascent universe as it was being reborn, and while only a few years would pass beyond the womb of light, five thousand years would pass within it. Five thousand years of peace. Not a lot of time for those who lived in this universe, but it was enough. The Mother and Life Reborn had a child in this time, and this child had matured and had trained to an adequate level before the five thousand years lapsed, allowing the Paragons to fully entrust the universe to him. As he ascended to his rightful place, the Paragons prepared to finally leave the oroboros for what was their true inheritance beyond the mortal realms... ... and like that, they were gone. They were gone, leaving behind a, pure, peaceful, and ultimately empty universe for those who were willing to find it and shape its story. This universe is the universe you now live and play in. Yes, this tale is about your universe, dear guest. As for the paragons, these kin to the light, they now exist in the realms beyond the mortal coils, all of them kings and queens over their inheritances. Some are content to stay where they are, commanding many angels and directing the courses of a million, million stories. Others wander the otherrealms, searching out and righting the injustices they find, and setting into motion the stories of a million, million more. And as for me... how do I know so much? How am I so sure of this tale I am telling you? You need only guess, dear guest. ... I am not called "The Redeemed" for no reason, beloved. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: It's been three years or so. I doubt anyone remembers me, and if not, thats good in essence. If you do, I want to start by apologising for taking so bloody long in writing this wrap up for the Kin storyline. There were several factors, all of which I am not proud of, that contributed to not only the long wait, but also to my disappearance. One factor was the fact that I had made the biggest rookie mistake any role-player could make, and that was making the game personal. As an RP veteran, I shouldn't have done that, and it made writing and watching others play through the ending far more painful that it should have. For me, this was a chapter that needed desperately to be closed long ago, and I just wasn't mature enough myself at the time to close it properly. For this factor, I also apologize. Other factors included a series of difficult IRL events starting at around that point, all of which I didnt handle all that well. I'm still recovering from these events, but they are in the past, and I hope to put this story in the past with them. The final factor was the fact I had really bitten off more than I could chew. There really was no feasible way I could do justice to the story with the many threads that needed to be tied down, and the number of details I wanted to include. I hope that this post is enough to tie those ends off and put the tale of the Kin to rest. As for me, I am moving on, permanently. I still remember BZP and its community fondly. Its where I met some awesome people and I still keep in contact with a few of them to this day. Few other were blessed with a so-called legendary status during my tenure here, as one of my contacts had relayed to me over a regular instant messenger chat, and for that bit of recognition, I am thankful, and frankly, all I needed. That said, I hope the best for all of you still here. May the site keep kickin' even though its boom days seem to be behind it. Keep finding new friends, and making legends out of yourselves. I'll miss you guys. Have fun, be safe, and be awesome. -Moutekea
  18. Well, it's been a while since I've posted any art on here, so it's (about time) I did. This is another BZPRPG character, Krayzikk's character... Krayzikk... Yeeeeeeeeeah. Just your friendly neighborhood Titan Toa. (Clickable link) Sketched in pencil, colored in photoshop. (No tablet, ) I'm really glad how this one came out, and overall, I'm quite pleased with the result. Unfortunately, I had to go back and re-do the shading, but no biggie. I tried to get a bit more artistic with this one, but that Kualsi was a... erhm... really hard to stylize. (krayzikkbro your description was one sentence long ;-; ) Comments and criticism welcome!
  19. Ketan: "I must stop Naming Day from coming... but how?" Oreius: "Why am I such a misfit? I am not just a nitwit. Just because my Stone glows... why don't I fit in?" Avya: "Bartan was dead, to begin with." Cael: "Remember, Joske: no man is a failure who has friends." Jin: "Seeing is believing. Am I right?" If anyone can name the sources of all five of these quotes, they get... virtual gingerbread? That, and my everlasting approval. A very merry Christmas to every BZP member out there, and a happy New Year!

    Kaithas

This was a request from Toa Kaithas to draw his BZPRPG character, er, Kaithas The mask is a Great Huna. I took some inspiration from the movie version of the Metru Toa and also the piston arms and joints from my previous drawings. Still having trouble on how to design the legs though. The color I have originally for Kaithas was a blue-green, turns out the forest green that was requested wasn't blue-green but more yellow-green, Ouch. So I fixed that with the yellow marker. Color mixing on the paper! Medium: Copic Markers, White Gel Pen, Photoshop WIP Pictures: http://www.majhost.c...ithasbzprpg.png http://www.majhost.c...rt/kaithas2.png http://www.majhost.c...aithascolor.png http://www.majhost.c...aithasfinal.png Thanks for looking!

    Kethrye

Well, I suppose its that time again, time for another BZPRPG character. And here, I give you Benluke's (Or Javert's seeing as he changed his name) character, Tryna wearing Toa of Ice, Kethrye. (linkylinkyclickyclicky) One of my favorites so far, I tried to get a bit more movement into this piece. Over all, I'm quite glad how it came out, although, I don't quite remember how long I spent on it.- Sketched in pencil, inked, and then colored using Photoshop.

    Skyra

An Idea of mine that I've had for over a month, I finally managed to put my idea onto paper. Taking the suggestions and ideas given to me from my last piece of artwork, I tried to compound them all into this one piece. And so, I give you Snelly's BZPRPG character, Skyra, who is, quite possibly, my favorite in the RPG. (After some of my own, of course.) :3 (clickyclickylinkclick) While I wasn't exactly sure what a laser-tipped Katana was supposed to look like, I did my best. I'm actually quite pleased with how it came out, beside the few little things that get me... Colored using Photoshop, around 3 hours.Sketching about 2 hours.

[9:00:46 PM] Kal Grochi: We would like [9:00:48 PM] Kal Grochi: Destroy everything [9:00:53 PM] Kal Grochi: But [9:00:54 PM] Kakaru: yeah [9:00:57 PM] Kal Grochi: I have a character I need to introduce [9:01:08 PM] Kakaru: and I'd feel bad about that bar in retrospect [8:57:12 PM] iBrow: It has always made sense to me. [8:57:56 PM] Kakaru: ermgash [8:58:24 PM] Kakaru: the BZPRPG is so much more fun if you stop taking your character seriously like he's the most cool dude on the island [8:58:51 PM] Kal Grochi: Lolyup [8:59:14 PM] Kakaru: make him awkward and underpowered and not trying to take everyone on in a fight with deep philosophical taunts/spewing wit like a broken comedy track [9:00:10 PM | Edited 9:00:15 PM] Kakaru: but that's how everyone tries to play and it just gets hilarious when everyone's trying to be cooler than the last guy [8:48:13 PM] Kakaru: Mental disorders are medical conditions. Mental disorders are not personality quirks. Mental disorders are not something you can just “get over.” [8:48:32 PM] Kal Grochi: Harness the mental disorder [8:48:33 PM] Andrew P: Sure they are. [8:48:35 PM] Kal Grochi: And make it give you power [8:48:37 PM] Tolkien: heehee [8:26:01 PM] Kakaru: "QUERIED" IS NOT NECESSARILY THE SAME THING AS "ASKED." STOP USING THEM INTERCHANGEABLY [8:26:11 PM] Kal Grochi: LOL. [8:26:45 PM] Kal Grochi: "So I queried Andrew about the nature of his breakfast yesterday, he said it was rather delightful." [8:26:48 PM] iBrow: What would be the difference? [8:27:04 PM] iBrow: Aside from queried sounding awkward in just about every converstaion [8:27:55 PM] Kakaru: "yes?" is not a query, it's a response. [8:27:57 PM] Andrew P: a question isn't a query, but a query is a question. [8:28:08 PM] Tolkien: I asked him. I asked him a question. I asked about x. I queried him. *I queried him a question. I queried him about x. "ask" is interchangeably intransitive/ditransitive, while "query" is primarily intransitive/transitive, but not ditransitive (unless the second object is a prepositional phrase, rather than an argument). [8:28:10 PM] Kakaru: Right, what Andrew said. [8:28:57 PM] iBrow: I don't generally use "queried" all that often anyway. I find it to be clunky in many situations. [8:29:06 PM] Kakaru: Basically, if you;re running rampant sticking "queried" in all your "asks" then you just sound like you're trying to fluff your writing to make it appear more intelligent than it probably is, which makes you look like a twat. [8:29:20 PM] Velox: XD [8:18:53 PM] Velox: Fine, but seriously, please, don't make things too crazy in there. It's supposed to be a writer's club chat, not a crazy spammy chat. [8:19:06 PM] Kakaru: I'm not spamming. [8:19:09 PM] Kakaru: I'm just yelling. [8:19:14 PM] Velox: Same thing. =P [8:19:25 PM] Kakaru: brb, I gotta pick the trash off my floor [8:19:29 PM] Velox: We're trying to make better, professional writers here. You can go yell someplace else =P [8:19:30 PM] Velox: hahahahaha [8:17:26 PM] Velox: Because, I remove people for a reason, and you shouldn't be going against me. =P [8:17:42 PM] Kakaru: JUST FOR THAT I'M GOING TO KICK OVER MY TRASH CAN [8:17:47 PM] Kakaru: THERE [8:17:50 PM] Velox: XD [8:17:51 PM] Kakaru: MY FLOOR'S A MESS [8:17:54 PM] Kakaru: I HOPE YOU FEEL BAD [8:22:35 PM] Kal Grochi: OH [8:22:41 PM] GSR: You made him knock over a trash can? Andrew, that's horrible. [8:22:43 PM] Kal Grochi: NOW I KNOW WHY YOU PUT UP THIS: [8:22:54 PM] Kal Grochi: [8:20 PM] Kakaru: fair enough now I gotta go find a vacuum this is impossible Ladies and gentlemen, The Ambage.
