  2. Hello everyone! A few minutes ago, I tried to post a comedy chapter in the Library. However, when I went to post it, it gave me the error message "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." The thing is, I didn't use ANY image extensions whatsoever. The only things even remotely approaching image files in my post were BZP emoticons and quote boxes. Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know of a possible fix? I've never seen this happen before... Lewa0111 Nuva

    Canonization

wow guys all of this talk about canonization has really got me fired up like people keep trying to canonize every minute detail and wait i guess we've moved on from that already? nvm
  4. The recent trend of fans petitioning Greg to canonize details of the story has been controversial. But I've been upset to see that devolve into a bunch of Greg-bashing. Let's be clear: Greg's not the problem here, or at least, not the main one. The fans are. They're the ones who decided, after Bionicle's end, to consider Greg the sole arbiter of canon. During Bionicle's run he may have been the "mouthpiece" of the Bionicle story, but he was only one member of a team. And that team, for the most part, did a great job of keeping the overall story on-track. Back in those days, there were questions that Greg DECLINED to answer simply because it was not his position to do so—some decisions could only be made with the input of the story team, to avoid conflicting with the overall thrust of the story. There were checks and balances. All that went out the window when the theme ended, the story team disbanded, and fans decided that they would rather let Greg string the story along indefinitely than consider it a closed book. And now, they're the ones badgering Greg to canonize every single ambiguous detail from the Bionicle story. So far, at least from what I've heard (and I lost interest in the minutiae of the classic Bionicle story long ago), it's not a case of him canonizing terrible suggestions. The problem is that he's canonizing suggestions that never needed to be made. The Bionicle story isn't any better for knowing so-and-so's mask, or weapon, or what this character or that would look like as a set. If anything, it's worse—fans are continually eating away at all the mysteries in a story that was characterized by mystery, and the little details that used to be open to actual creative interpretation in a brand that was intended to allow for creative play. Let's be clear: every time Greg canonizes a character's mask, it DECANONIZES every other possible mask that character could have worn. Every time he canonizes a weapon, it DECANONIZES every other weapon. To petition Greg to include your headcanon in the story is to exclude every other fan's interpretation of the story. Now, some may argue that this doesn't matter. If the canon disagrees with you, just ignore it and come up with your own headcanon! But there are problems with that idea. Firstly, the organized Bionicle community has an obsession with canon. It's why we have to deal with these idiotic suggestions in the first place—a lot of Bionicle fans CARE about the actual canon, and it leads them to want to make a mark on it. Secondly, the fans that don't like suggestions? They DO ignore it! They do like I did years ago and divorce themselves altogether from the canon—but that, of course, means divorcing themselves from huge parts of the community that they used to enjoy. I used to love coming up with theories in S&T, because it was neat to try to figure out how the Bionicle universe worked, or try to predict the twists and turns of the story. But now I can hardly follow the discussions there, because discussion of the story often relies on a shared interpretation of the story—a singular canon—and the more of that canon you ignore, the less common ground you have with other fans to base discussions on. I'm very glad that Bionicle is being rebooted next year. The old story, at this point, is a lost cause. It should have been ended definitively years ago, but fans opted to keep it alive long after the point of death, and now I hardly get any joy from it. Bionicle 2015 is a much needed fresh start, and I dearly hope that it can learn from the original theme's ample mistakes. And the biggest mistake I want it to avoid is letting the inmates run the asylum, as the original theme did.
  5. Alright, since New Bionicle is coming out next year and new fans are sure to find their way to BZPower, I propose that we make new fads. One of my ideas is everyone or many people changing their avatars to Turaga Vakama standing in front of the sacred fire. Another idea is for members to put the Mask of Creation in their signature. This one seems to have started already. Anyone else have any ideas for a new fad, or multiple?
  6. Meeting you first and getting a face to the BZP name isn't so weird. But... then going to the Staff page and seeing you in old photos is weird. So very, very weird.
  7. So... I figured I'd have my own go at this contest thing. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Daronus/Other-Artwork/bzpower_art_contest_entry.png I know, I can't make excessively long links shorter, but this'll have to do. I was going for a style that welcomes the New era of Bionicle, yet hearkens back to the original series. I think i may have made it a tad too complex, but I'll see what you think. Enjoy!

    POBZPC!

Wow! In response to a recent news report, I got a proto energy boost, which means I've finally achieved Premier Outstanding BZPower Citizen status! To be honest, this might not change a whole lot for me. It's not like I've been actively seeking to achieve this status, and seeing my name in orange is not a huge change. Also, I'm not sure how many people actually pay attention to a member's rank when it's not indicative of a staff position. Still, I feel like it's a significant milestone... significant enough for a blog entry, at any rate.
  9. When January(December if possible)comes around I intend to buy all the new bionicle sets off of amazon.co.uk. In the process of doing this I would like to support the forums, however I can't seem to find a way of supporting the site in the UK and was wondering if it is possible to do so?
  10. This past week has been a real adventure for me! I have already talked about a lot of what happened but I wanted to put all my thoughts in one place for future reference. On Wednesday my twin brother and I took the train to New York City for New York Comic Con. I stayed with my mom's camp friend Carson, whom I had previously stayed with back in 2012 when I attended New York International Toy Fair. Once again, she was an extremely hospitable host. The reason for going to New York this time, of course, was that my brother and I had won two invitations to New York Comic Con on behalf of the LEGO Group. The invitations included not only one-day admission to the show itself, where LEGO had set up a beautiful booth promoting the new BIONICLE sets and story, but also admission to two special invite-only events. The first of these was the LEGO BIONICLE panel at 1:00pm, at which the theme’s creative director, art director, marketing director, and U.S. brand manager talked about the process of creating the sets and media for the new theme and showed off some of the sets. Those wanting to see this panel in video form can see it here on BZPower News, and those just wanting to see the presentation slides in clearer image form can see them here on the LEGO BIONICLE Facebook page. As amazing as this was for a die-hard BIONICLE fan like me, it was just an appetizer. The main course came at the second event, which was held at the new LEGO store in the Flatiron District (which didn’t officially open until the next day). Upon entering the store, not only were the sets and 14-karat gold masks shown at the panel on display, but the bins that LEGO stores normally fill with basic System and Duplo bricks for kids to play with were instead filled with parts from the six new Toa sets. For an hour and a half (an hour, in my case, since I arrived late despite my best efforts), we were free to play with the parts to our heart’s content. To top things off, we were able to keep whatever we built! I had thought even coming home with one of the new sets would have been a pipe dream, but coming home with my choice of their amazing new parts was arguably even better! In between the two LEGO events, I had some downtime when I got to plug my phone in and upload some of the photos I had taken at the BIONICLE booth and panel. Taking so many photos (not to mention trying to keep up with Twitter while waiting in various lines) really took a toll on the battery. In the meantime, my brother checked out the Artist's Alley and got a sketch card of Unikitty illustrated by Katie Cook, one of the writers and illustrators for the My Little Pony Friendship is Magic comic series by IDW. We then got to attend the Legend of Korra panel, where last week's episode of the show was presented a day early and the creators and some of the lead voice actors talked and joked about their experiences working on the show. This was to be their last big event while the show was still airing, so in some ways it felt a bit bittersweet, but on the whole it was a great reminder why the show and its universe are so great. Navigating New York could be exhausting. As I mentioned, my brother and I arrived a bit late to the LEGO store event in the evening. There are a couple reasons for this. First, we stopped to eat beforehand, which took a bit longer than we anticipated. Second, Google Maps very nearly directed us to the wrong LEGO store. We knew the new Flatiron District LEGO store was on Fifth Avenue, so it seemed like it was sending us to the right place. But we realized shortly before it brought us to (not) our destination that both the LEGO stores were on Fifth Avenue (but very, very far apart), and that Google Maps only knew of the Rockefeller Center store's existence since the new Flatiron District store was not technically open until the next day. Thankfully we were able to navigate to the correct store and only arrived half an hour late, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the event. The next couple days I had hoped to do some shopping in New York City (for instance, visiting the Toys 'R' Us at Times Square, either of the two LEGO stores, or the Nintendo World store at Rockefeller Center). But after this whirlwind experience on Thursday, not only was I fatigued from so much walking around and navigating, but I had gotten behind on following the various LEGO fan communities that were now ablaze with discussion of the new BIONICLE theme. Plus, my brother and I were already coming home with more amazing loot than I anticipated — getting MORE stuff was hardly a priority! We each had a custom BIONICLE hero built from the parts of the new sets, a BIONICLE 2015 T-shirt, two exclusive transparent BIONICLE masks, a BIONICLE Skull Spider, a BIONICLE 2015 T-shirt, and two BIONICLE posters. So I spent most of Friday and Saturday online, reporting on my experience and helping to clear up people's unanswered questions. When we got home Saturday evening, not only did we get to show our family what we had gotten (and share some of that loot with our younger brother, who was not able to make it due to school), but also I was greeted by two boxes containing books I had preordered from Barnes and Noble earlier in the year: The Daring Do Adventure Collection by G.M. Berrow, The Legend of Korra book two art book, LEGO Ninjago: The Visual Dictionary, and "Shouldn't You Be in School", the third book in Lemony Snicket's ongoing series All the Wrong Questions. So I have those books to look forward to reading in the months to come! I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that my experience Thursday was the experience of a lifetime. Comic Con was definitely fast-paced and hectic, but getting to meet so many LEGO employees and be one of the first to experience the new BIONICLE sets and story for 2015 was more exciting than I had even dreamed. I also got to spend not quite as much time as I would have liked with a lot of the great folks from here on BZPower. I'm not quite through with this experience just yet — I'm in the midst of writing about and taking photos of my new BIONICLE parts for The New Elementary. Also, I have to get back to "real life" responsibilities like visiting the Zolo studio and putting together some new Zolo creations for their Facebook page. But throughout all of that, I will have some very memorable experiences to look back on, and many great new experiences to look forward to! For those who want to see Thursday's events from my own perspective, I have a slightly disorganized photo gallery here with photos from the BIONICLE booth, panel, and LEGO store event. Enjoy!
  11. First blog entry of my now lifetime premier membership. Might as well use it to reminisce. -- I joined BZPower in August 2007, when I was 9. Made my fair share of extremely young and nooby posts, but I loved it. It was my first forum that wasn't the LEGO Message Boards. I remember the crackpot theories about the Mahri and Matoro turning evil, I remember the immense RIP Matoro signature fad, I remember the Great Dataclysm, the outcry of when it was announced BIONICLE would end. I may not have been here from the start as a lot of you have or as active as people who joined after me, but I certainly wouldn't call any other place on the internet home. I'd like to thank all of the great admins, mods and members alike for creating such a awesome place that's still running after all this time. I don't know where I was going with this post, but hey. Figure it out as I go, that's my motto. Sincerely, a now 7 year older member (And wow, is it weird to think I've been registered on BZP for 7 years.) - Makuta of Metru Nui
  12. I'm still alive. Also, I've been part of this site for eleven years. Less so than I used to be, but I still visit from time to time. The site's changed. I've changed. Such is life. Even though I'm not as much a part of this site as I used to be, I think in some way being part of this site was beneficial. In fact, I still retain some of the friendships I made with people from this site. So even if LEGO were somehow to disappear and the site to shut down for whatever reasons, those friendships I made would've been worth the time I spent here. After all, at the end of the day, LEGO is still a toyline, and BZPower is still a web site, but people are people. Some will come and go, but some will stay with you for the rest of your life. ©1984-2014 Toaraga EAM

    The lolz man

Man, dudes. I'll be honest, I don't watch Fallon late at night. Instead, I just read the blog comments. I'm hurting so much from laughing right now.
  14. My self-moc is starring in an all-new movie about himself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiIklMY2Sc4&list=UUQK5qFqyIfJnppIOt6OnRug I hope you enjoy!
  15. I am way behind writing up my Brickfair recap, so I'm going to just go over some of the highlights. Shortly after I arrived, I learned that Delwyn Buckler got featured on the back cover of the event program! Awesome! Here's my haul from vendors and yard sales. It includes a lot of cool stuff, including a bunch of useful Hero Factory parts, six LEGO Friends mini-dolls for customizing, and a UV light for my MOC during the World of Lights event on Friday. At the live auction on Friday, Nukaya's Benny painting became set a BrickFair record for the highest bid on a single item, selling for two thousand dollars! It was amazing to be there to hear the bids continue to climb! The World of Lights was AMAZING! Not quite as great as it could have been, maybe, because the convention center's emergency lights flooded out some parts Here's my submarine all lit up. I will have plenty of uses for that blacklight in the future, I'm sure! This guy was also amazing! On Sunday I participated in the BZPower parts draft. Five other participants and I chose parts from ten copies of 44021 Splitter Beast vs Furno & Evo. Here's my haul — I chose some of the largest and heaviest pieces, apparently, but I have already found some great uses for them! I participated in the Hatpile, contributing just one hat. Maybe I'll bring more next year. My Blacktron Vivisector won the Brickee award for "Best Small Space Craft"! I was totally surprised when I found out! Here's a picture of it with the trophy (sorry it's blurry)! I went to dinner with fourteen other BZPower members on Sunday. Overall, the food was mediocre and the service was execrable (I'm probably going to do my best never to eat at a Longhorn Steakhouse again), but the company of my fellow BZPower members was fantastic. Overall, I had a fantastic time at BrickFair this year. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again next year! Especially since next year *drum roll* BronyCon and BrickFair are going to be on different weekends! So for the first time, I'm going to be able to go to both events! Yay!

    Summer and Beyond

Daaaaang it's August already time moves faaaaast It's been mostly radio silence here in blogland recently, so I'm well overdue on filling folks in on life/plans/vidjamagaems/etc. Life: I've... actually been kind of active on BZP this summer! No new fics, true, but I've been having a good time in the BZPRPG, and of course there's been the 2015 stuff to deal with. Chalk this up to my actually having the summer off. ...Unfortunately (fortunately?) said mostly-free-summer is solely due to the fact that a week from today (Friday) I'm taking off for the West Coast, for good this time! I'll be starting work full-time out there in a few weeks, so much of this summer has been spent working out apartment stuff, moving issues, insurance (lemme tell you, nobody ever realizes how much insurance you have to deal with until they actually go independent), all sorts of stuff. That's eaten up a lot of time, and eaten into various projects I would've liked to have worked on. But it is pretty dang exciting! I'll be living on my own, working full-time, attempting to be a Repsonsible Adult. And in the meantime, I've been saying goodbye (for now) to a lot of friends and places. Wisconsin, I'm gonna miss you. Plans: Now the result of all the above is that I will be mostly MIA from BZP from next week Friday (the 15th) through the following week and maybe a bit beyond. The actual road trip part of things should only run through Tuesday, but given I start work the Monday after, that's not a lot of time to get settled into my apartment. I'll try to be around, but life takes priority. Immediately after that of course I actually start said job, and so I'll probably be a bit frazzled for the first month or so. Assuming things quiet down after that, you can expect me to be around in the evenings and maybe mornings from there on out - but 9 to 5(ish) is work. There is one particular BZP thing I wanted to get done this summer that I didn't really make any progress on, and it's still sitting there in the sidebar taunting me. I don't know how exactly Journey will turn out, but I'd still like to finish it someday. Considering I got about half through with the last NaNoWriMo, maybe this year I'll push on to the end. But here's a plan that might be of more interest to folks: I'll be streaming Smash 3DS when it releases in Japan next month! I have a Japanese 3DS with capture card for my work on another site, so I'll be putting that to good use. More details to come! Vidjamagaems: Well, vidjamagaem, singular. This summer in my down time I've been playing through the Persona 2 duology. They're my first Persona games, and while they've got some issues, they're still pretty good. I am very, very tempted to switch from Apollo (Justice, not the Persona) to Maya (Amano, not the spirit medium) in all my various internet avatars. Beyond that - nope, not much this summer. On to other stuff! Etc.: Uhhhhh dang this is a category huh. Alright, here's something: It's been a pretty seismic month or two here at BZP, huh? And it might very well get even louder before the year's up. It's been heartening to see - but it's also brought a few old ugly points back into the light. (And exacerbated a few new ones.) Regardless of what happens from here on out, I want BZP to stay a positive, welcoming place (or make it that way for those of you who don't feel it is already.) ...And this is the bit where I realize I don't really have a good way to wrap all this up. Which is fine! You know how your teachers always said you need to have a strong conclusion? Nuts to that. True blogging needs no rules. Oh, wait, one last thing! Due to some kind of bug, the quotation marks, apostrophes, and dashes on several of my stories vanished. They should be fixed now, but if you ever notice the same happening to you, comment in the Tracker issue!

    BrickFair 2014

This past week has been a whirlwind so I figured it would be worth summarizing it both so that people who didn't make it could have an idea of what it was like and so that my experience can be recorded for future reference. This year, unlike past years, Brickfair started on Wednesday. Apart from setting up MOCs, greeting other BZPower members, and attending the opening ceremonies and bingo, not much happened that day. I did pick up and build the set I won in one of the BZP anniversary raffles, and bought some things from some of the vendors as well. On Thursday I attended Mariann Asanuma's Mini-Con panel and found out about what that was all about. Having a Mini-Con at the center of the convention is a wonderful idea and I'll have to plan better to create mini versions of my MOCs (and myself) next year. I had planned to attend Zatth's "How Lego Impacts Our Lives" panel but ended up leaving before it started due to uneasiness with some of the attendees. I hear it was good, though, and wish I had stuck around. On Friday I attended Peter Espersen's panel about Lego Ideas and the Exo-Suit, which was okay but didn't tell us a lot that we didn't already know from posts about the project as well as the Cuusoo panel from the year before. I also managed to buy the parts to make a mini version of our Atlantis submarine MOC for the Mini-Con as well as a bunch of other useful parts. That night was the World of Lights event. We had missed most of the practice the previous night but we made up for it by purchasing a tiny blacklight which made our submarine look amazing once the lights went out. On Saturday I went through with my plans to attend BronyCon for a day... and they didn't turn out that great. My train to Baltimore was delayed, so by the time I arrived at the convention center the Voice Actor Q & A had already started. Bummed, I proceeded to awkwardly meander around the vendor hall for a while as I waited for the two panels I wanted to attend in the afternoon. I got a small amount of merch and a ridiculous number of StreetPasses. But when I finally headed up to the site of the other two panels I had planned to attend, I found out that those two panels were only for young kids and their parents. Frustrated, I took an earlier train back to BrickFair and managed to make it to the tail end of The Lego Movie, which was a nice pick-me-up after a day gone awry. Looking back my time at BronyCon wasn't abysmal, but it wasn't worth the expense I had taken to follow through with those plans, and unless the two events are different dates next year I'll be sticking with BrickFair. Sunday was fairly uneventful, as the public days usually are, but I had a good time regardless. I spent most of the day alternating between checking StreetPass and demonstrating the features of our submarine MOC to attendees. At 2:00 I finally managed to contribute a hat to the BZP hatpile, having missed it every other year. Right before closing I managed to pick up Benny's Spaceship for a good price from one of the vendors. After Brickfair closed I went to the BZPower fancy dinner, but the service was abysmal (with an hour-long wait, slow service, a substitution in my order that I didn't okay, and only a half-apology and subsequent rudeness from the manager) and I ended up leaving early since I didn't want my frustration to cast a shadow over everyone else's evening. My mom picked me up and took me back to the restaurant at the Holiday Inn, which is better than that Longhorn Steakhouse will probably ever be. The manager there (an amazingly friendly guy who I had met earlier that weekend) got me a free drink, appetizer and dessert, no questions asked. All in all, it was far from a perfect weekend, but I still enjoyed myself and left with some decent loot. I hope next year's BrickFair is even better.
  19. TELL ME WHAT TO DO, BZPOWER MEMBERS. That is the only purpose of this entry.
  20. The anniversary of BZPower's founding has finally arrived! It's quite a special day, I'm sure, for many of us; personally, I'm being flooded with memories of when I first discovered this site back in the summer of 2008. I'm looking forward to many more years of an active community here.

    KEVIN KNEW

It just occurred to me that Kevin Hinkle proposed a "Bring Back Bionicle" design for this year's BZPower T-shirt contest. And now evidence is mounting that Bionicle will return next year. Kevin KNEW, man. He KNEW and did that just to mess with us. It's a shame he won't be at BrickFair to interrogate about Bionicle's return (along with 2015 Monorails, which are totally a thing that has leaked and not something I'm making up out of the blue, no sirree).
  22. This is a comedy I have been working on for a few days. It is a satire starring a new member on BZPower. I'm pretty sure this is OK as BZPower itself is LEGO-related, but if not, PM me and move it. It is in a fairly rough draft phase right now. You will mostly see this in tense-related problems. I don't usually have problems with that kind of thing, but I did this time. Here is the first "chapter" of it: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Day 1: After finding a BZPower result in google, he goes to home page and reads. "New LEGO Star Wars Set! By Andrew, reported to by Takauju, who will NOT get any proto-points. Even though he reported news. Check out the LEGO Shop@Home site to see a new LEGO Star Wars set. It's only $250.00 USD, so you can buy it for sure!" New member decides that it would be worth his while to make an account. He likes LEGO and Bionicle, though he hasn't done much with his 60 sets in a while. He clicks on the "Enter BZPower Forums" button, but is greeted with a message saying the forums are offline. "Darn it." He closes the page. Here is the next chapter: Day 2: He goes to the site again, but is still pushed away by the "offline" message. And the third, the absolute shortest chapter ever: Day 3: Same. Here is the fourth chapter, where things really get going: Day 124: He has tried every day to enter the BZPower forums with decreasing excitement, but each time fails. This day, however, he successfully enters the site. Perhaps it has been good, as he has had time to play, take apart, build, and again play with all his Bionicle sets, as well as re-read the books three times each. He feels prepared. But perhaps it wasn't good either. "Geez, why did it take so long?" He wonders. He notices that all the links are somewhat grey, that he can't search, nor can he read member's pages. "There go all my hopes of just reading on here without having an account." He clicks the green button that says "New Account". Now he needs a username. He really likes Takua as a character, so he tries it. Username already taken. He tries Tahu, Pohatu, Onewa, Vezon, and all the Rahkshi names with the same result. "I bet all the people that have those usernames are really famous." He says to himself. He decides upon the username *!*8TaKuA8*!*. He doesn't realize until too late that that sounds like a computer-generated spambot username. He enters his email address, real name, and all his other details. He then tries to log on, but it won't let him. He checks his email for the confirmation email, but sees nothing. He goes back to the site and clicks "resend confirmation email". He goes back and checks his email again, but nothing is there. Wait. He may have an idea. He goes to the spam folder on his email and finds both emails there. He selects them both, clicks Not Spam, and confirms his account. Now he can log in! He does so and chooses the "rules" as his first thread to read. He opens it, starts reading one, then gets bored at Rule 2 and goes back to the main forum page. He scrolls down to the bottom. 128 Members currently online! His name is the first one in the list. "I must be really important or something, for me to be at the top of the list." *!*8TaKuA8*!*, who we will simply call Takua8 from now on, has a vanity problem. He believes that he IS in fact the most important person on the forums, in the world. He goes to a thread entitled "Physics in Bionicle". It was started by a member named iiBones. Strange name. It takes him 15 minutes to read the first post and only understands a few sentences. He reads a few of the following posts and decides to post something. "umm yeah i think that the fisics in bionicle were really wierd liek the time that mata nui fell over while walking!!!11!!!1!!" He clicks Post, the page reloads, but he doesn't see his post. His memory shoots back to when he saw something about "An Admin must approve your first 5 posts." Oh well. He closes the page. And now the fifth. (Just to let you all know, I'm not picking on the different members that I parody; I am merely putting them in for the comedy aspect. For example White Five (Black Six) only ever posts "Question answered, Thread Closed." because that is pretty much I ever see his real-life person post.): Day 125: He logs onto BZPower and goes to the thread he had posted in yesterday. It has his post, but then under it a small message saying: Make sure you have good spelling and grammar on the forums. ~White Five P.S. Question answered, Thread Closed. Wow. White Five himself! True, he got reprimanded, but who cares! White Five was the one that did the reprimanding! He posts a few more times in different threads. He tries to use better spelling and grammar. "A reprimand from White Five should not be questioned!" Takua8 says to himself. A few "liek"s fall through the cracks, though. He has now posted four times, and wanted to make his final post that had to be approved. He goes to a section called Completely Off Topic. Sounds like Takua8's kinda thing. "Describe the Username of the Member Before You" he clicked on that, read the short description of what to do, then went to the most recent post. It was done by a guy (or possibly girl) named Kpkmstr. Weird name. So he decides to post just that: "Weird name." After posting it, he realized that that's what most people say. "Gotta blend in!" It gets approved and he signs out. Here is the sixth chapter (I just realized that all my double posting has been put into one big post. Weird.): Day 127: Takua8 signs into the site again and notices a small red "1" on top of a picture looking like a envelope at the top of the page. He clicks it and it said Messenger. The message he had gotten was entitled "Grammar" and was from RataPui. He opened it and read: "I think your grammar is great. NO IT'S NOT! Yeah, I think so. Well, you're weird. No, I'm not. Are too. Am not. [This went on for a while.] Well, I think that your grammar and spelling could use a lot of work. But don't ask me, as I don't like english. Well I do! Yeah, he does. I guess you could ask him. Anyway- -RataPui" Takua8 felt very confused after reading this message. Was RataPui schizophrenic? No, that couldn't be it. He clicked on RataPui's name and read his about me page. It was two people. That's…strange. Why they didn't just get separate accounts was beyond him. At least he wasn't schizophrenic. Takua8 went back to his page and clicked the "Profile Stream" tab. He is instantly overwhelmed with what seemed like everyone on BZPower greeting him. Except they all said the same thing. )Takua( --> *!*8TaKuA8*!* Welcome to BZPower! Tell me if you need any help! iiBones --> *!*8TaKuA8*!* Welcome to BZPower! Tell me if you need any help! Kpkmstr --> *!*8TaKuA8*!* Welcome to BZPower! Tell me if you need any help! charge_alpha --> *!*8TaKuA8*!* Welcome to BZPower! Tell me if you need any help! McSmeagle4 --> *!*8TaKuA8*!* Welcome to BZPower! Tell me if you need any help! Takauju --> *!*8TaKuA8*!* Welcome to BZPower! Tell me if you need any help! (PLEASE LET ME GET SOME PROTO POINTS!!!!!) White Five --> *!*8TaKuA8*!* Question answered, Thread Closed. Well, maybe it wasn't EVERYONE on BZPower. But it was 6 people. But he didn't understand what White Five was saying. And what were proto points? He logged off and went back to what he should've been doing, school. Behold, Chapter 7: Day 128: After logging on, Takua8 went to the Completely Off Topic place again. He found a thread entitled "Doctor Who Series 10 Preview!" He really liked Doctor Who, so he clicked on it. There should've been a link there with a small description below. But instead of the link there was written "Question answered, Thread Closed. ~White Five. The original poster had been "Mr. Laughs is NOT of this World". Weird name. Takua8 wondered if he played Describe the Username of the Member Before You. He read a few posts, then came to one by an Admin by the username of ~Landrider~. It said: That link leads to a site that has a link to a site that has a link to a site that has a link to a site that has a link to a forum that has a link to a site that has a link to a site that has a link to a site that has a link to a forum that has a link to another forum that has a link to a site that MAY have a pop-up advert on it. Below that was a post by White Five saying: Question answered, Thread Closed. BUMMER. He really wanted to get a preview of the next series of Doctor Who. He posted a few more times in Lego Discussion before signing out.
  23. I've been trying to figure out my plans for BrickFair VA this year and am seriously considering cutting out on Saturday, August 2, and catching a train up to Baltimore to spend the day at BronyCon instead. BrickFair is one of the highest points of my social life each year, but it still wears me out each year and try as I might, I can't avoid being mega-awkward even around my fellow FOLs. I'm worried that an extra day of BrickFair, like we're getting this year, might just push me to my breaking point. The alternative I'm considering is to spend the Saturday of BrickFair (which, being the first of the public days, manages to be both super-stressful and overwhelmingly uneventful compared to the other days) at BronyCon instead (which holds a number of interesting panels and events on Saturday). Baltimore is only a short train trip away from D.C., and if I buy tickets early I can get them for a pretty decent price. And my experience at Cloudsdale Congress (a small MLP convention in Northern VA) last year was pretty uniformly positive, so if BronyCon is similar it'll serve as a welcome respite from the chaos and drama of BrickFair. I'm still not 100% decided yet, so if anyone has any thoughts or opinions over whether I should/shouldn't go through with this they should feel welcome to share them here. I'm going to need to make a decision soon if I want to get the best price on train tickets, though.
  24. So I was just thinking about past BBCCs on BZP, and I ended up digging up an old version of the topic on the Wayback Machine. That nostalgia, man. Too bad the list isn't complete, and a lot of MOCs aren't archived, leaving many dead links. Still, good to look back on. That got me thinking about how currently BZP doesn't have a history topic for the new forums and the contests we've had here. Someone should compile the list of results for those contests. Given that I have some free time, I was thinking that I might try. If I get all of this put together, hopefully a staff member would be willing to post it as a new pinned topic. I suppose Tufi would be the person to contact about that? Anyway, food for thought. It would be nice to have a history topic in the BBC forum again. ~B~
  25. In 2006, I made an account at the age of 8 for help with the Voya Nui Online Game, but then just dismissed BZPower as another fan site, because it didn't look as professional as it does now. Recently, my interest in Bionicle regrew, and I found that this site's changed a lot. It looks much more professional! The forum discussions seem more serious/important/influential than they used to. I guess that's what happens when Bionicle is reduced to its fanbase. You guys are a beacon in this slowly-darkening fandom. I can say nothing more than the fact that I'm glad to be back, guys! :D
