  1. "Two warriors, one of the Fire Tribe and one of the Jungle Tribe, who were stationed in the Core Processor of the Matoran Universe to act as pilots of the Great Spirit Robot; were intended to be safely ejected after the takeoff, but remained and eventually died. " I give credit to Biosector01 for this information. My only question is that why did Mata Nui needed a Glatorian from the Fire Tribe and Glatorian from the Jungle Tribe to be pilots of the Great Spirit Robot? Were the Matoran not yet created by the Great Beings? If so why did the two Glatorian decided to come with Mata Nui to Aqua Magna? I kind of wonder why did they abandoned Bara Magna, and fled to the Matoran Universe where they later then eventually died? This thing about these two Glatorian being pilots of the Great Spirit Robot is to me quite interesting. But I wonder what else about the two of them.
  2. The following theory is developed off two basic assumptions: 1. No character participated in the Core War unless it was explicitly stated in some canon source. If a source says "the rock tribe" or "jungle Glatorian," that does not include Tuma or Gresh, only the rock tribe and jungle Glatorian of that time. 2. Any identical names that existed in the Core War era can be claimed to be ancestors of the current characters bearing those names unless the current characters bearing those names explicitly state "I remember this." ---- At some point during the development of Mata Nui, the Great Beings developed a substance/method/device, hereafter referred to as Immortalis. This substance/method/device would induce genetic immortality into an individual, though it would not protect against disease or slaughter, but only old age. After the shattering, they offered to use Immortalis on the Glatorian and Agori of Bara Magna ((being unable to use it on Bota Magna for whatever reason)). The majority of the tribes accepted the offer, with two exceptions: the sand tribe, who did not want further experiments to be run on them, and the rock tribe, who claimed they would endure the desert. While the other tribes stopped reproducing after a few generations, due to lack of resources to support a growing immortal population, the rock tribe and the sand tribe continued to breed as per natural. However, upon witnessing the sand tribe descend into feral instincts, the rock tribe glatorian and agori agreed to maintain a caste system to keep themselves from falling to such madness. The splitting of family lines, as well as limiting breeding to "successful" individuals, gradually transformed the rock tribe Glatorian into the Skrall and, further, into the three genetically divergent branches of the skrall. The agori were limited to service works, although some would later split off in protest of their treatment and develop into the bone hunters. Female skrall were, initially, part of this caste system as well. However, over the generations they would be relegated to serving only as breeders, something that they disagreed with extremely. At some point a few of them would be approached by Anonna disguised as Angonce, who would induce psychic powers on a genetic level; the psychich skrall would attempt to use their ability to wrest control of the rock tribe from the males, only to cause reactionary witch hunts that ironically enough led to the deaths of all nonpsychic females. From that point onward, the female skrall kept to themselves, only returning when their numbers were low or to drop off a male skrall and always operating under a cloak of projected control. Thoughts?
  3. On Spherus/Bara Magna, the Bionicle theme of being biomechanical was continued. But unlike the inhabitants of the Matoran Universe, Spherus Magnans do not have mechanical components from their inception. Sahmad said something interesting on implants. It was in Sahmad's Tale, when he has just awoken (in an illusion) to a Utopian society of Spherus Magnans and MU inhabitants, and is very skeptical that this could ever happen: "You've been asleep for 750 years, Sahmad." There was a moment then, just a moment, mind you, when I felt rattled. I mean, it could have been true. The monster might have chewed us up and spat us out. Someone might have found Metus and I and kept us alive. All Agori and Glatorian might be living as brothers and sisters in a beautiful new city, ready to welcome even survivors of the Iron Tribe into their arms. And Thornax fruit might taste like boiled Skopio meat, and the Great Beings might be handing out gift baskets of implants, but I wasn't ready to believe that either. The quote suggests that implants are highly desired and expensive. 1. If they are a commodity and expensive, I guess anyone born post-Shattering is unlikely to have received the augmentations. Given their long lifespans, I don't think there were too many Agori or Glatorian born, but I'm sure there must have been some. So. would we agree that there are probably some "all natural" Agori and Glatorian around? I think it would be cool to explore the social consequences these differences would make. I can see some friction between the "natural" and the "augmented" (I suddenly thought of the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution). Before the Shattering, I guess there must have been those who objected/declined implants on personal moral grounds etc. However, in the harsh environment of Bara Magna, I think people would have had higher priorities, like surviving. So I guess any "natural" Glatorian may have been seen as inferior and so had a harder time getting employed. I think it's interesting that it seems that most Agori and Glatorian do have implants. If all, or virtually all of these implants were received pre-Shattering, than it seems that society had widely accepted the change. It's interesting really; whilst technology is having a greater and greater effect on our real-world lives I doubt many of us would willingly lose perfectly good body parts because we think a mechanical version is better. Well, actually it's quite an interesting debate, because I'm sure some people would. Given the presence of things like hydraulic pistons in the Spherus Magnan sets, I think that there's a strong implication that some of these implants were drastically noticeable and significant. In a world were such things are available things could escalate into an arms race of sorts, where people are pressured to get implants because they'll get "left behind" if they don't. Gosh! this really reminds me of Deus Ex: Human Revolution XD (and the original Cybermen from Doctor Who) 2. If Mata Nui's body was similar to that of a Toa, wouldn't the Glatorian and Agori initially have taken him for a Glatorian with lots of implants, who strangely seemed to like wearing armour literally all the time? XD 3. It seems, due to the Legend Reborn, that Glatorian [with implants] are about as physically capable to Toa, since Mata Nui seemed matched or certainly comparable to the Glatorian there (assuming his body was similar to a Toa's). D'we think so guys? 4. Oh, and does anyone have any idea why basically all animals on Spherus Magna that we've seen seem to have implants too? I know animals like the Iron Wolves were modified for combat etc. But why animals like Scarabaxes and Skopios? And surely this is a bit of a one-off, since I don't see how the benefits of these implants could apply after one generation, since offspring won't have them? Did the GBs really meddle with all of them. Not joking, but the sheer logistics...>< (I guess if they can make things like Masks of Rahi Control maybe it's not that difficult though) Yeah, not trying to achieve anything specific here, but I just thought this was a really interesting aspect of the Bionicle lore and hence worth discussing.
  4. I have made some Helmets with the ones from Hero Factory. Drilldozer/Fire Lord, Furno 1.0, Bulk 5.0 (Brain Attack), Stringer 1.0, Xplode and Bulk 1.0 Rock 4.0 (Breakout) Hope you like them. (Note: i have no idea where to put this in)
  5. So, I whipped this model up about two months ago, and have slowly been adding things to it over time, and I now feel as though it's ready to be displayed. Wudda y'all think? Front Back Close Up of Head Hopefully I'll have some better photos up in a while, my camera battery is dying. The back-view shot turned out pretty well though.
  6. This is a project I've had in mind for some time, and I decided to write the first chapter of it as a short story, see if there's interest in my writing any more. I was heavily inspired by Spartacus (the Starz TV series), and used gladiator stuff heavily, such as the gladiators being slaves (instead of free, like Glatorians). Pandemonium and Sanctuary shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I just couldn't use one of the real words, and didn't want to use the other, because of possible religious sensitivity. “For those seeking to enter the gates of Pandemonium, look no further for guide!” had roared the mighty gladiator known as Certavus to the crowds of Agori in the stands, staring down into the sand filled arena. Raanu looked down at him with a sneer affixed to his face. He rose violently from his seat and shouted down at the gladiator, “So be it then; guide any foolish enough to rebel into the depths of the flames! Your bones will be ground underfoot as your rebellion dies with you! But make mistake not, Certavus. You will be the last to be welcomed by the embrace of death. You will suffer removal of body part for each and every slave who rallies under banner of rebellion!” A young gladiator looked out from behind the gate he and his fellows were stuck behind, barring them from entering the arena while contest was in progress. Certavus had shown his opponent mercy, and only now was the crimson clad warrior slowly rising to his feet behind Certavus. Perditus was rising. The sandy haired youth of a gladiator, fitted into emerald armor nearly twice his size, wanted to call out to Certavus. He opened his mouth, but a hand clasped him on the shoulder. He turned his head to see an older man, broader and taller, strong and muscled behind armor of blue and gold plate. The man had a strong face, piercing blue eyes, but bore a scar across his left cheek. His short brown hair bore a militaristic look to it, giving him the final piece he needed to appear powerful and respectable. Tarix simply shook his head. Gresh wanted to yell out to Certavus, but he realized that no other gladiators were yelling either. Not on this side of the arena, nor the other, where he could make out the images of a white clad gladiator and another clad in blue. Nobody was giving Certavus their support. Perdatus took grip of his warhammer with both hands. He hefted the large weapon up and twisted himself, preparing to swing. With a shout he sent the mighty weapon forward, slamming it into the back of Certavus’s white plate armor. The crowd cheered, especially the side filled with crimson clad Agori. Their warrior had risen again and taken the ice tribe champion by surprise in a move that was surely going to lead to Certavus’s defeat. However, the ice tribe made no sounds. They were not in support of their champion anymore, not after his cries for rebellion. “Good!” cried Raanu, his brown hair being pushed back out of his face by his hand, “Good! Lead him to Pandemonium, Perditus! Crush him!” Certavus stumbled forward and rolled in order to face Perditus again. The crowd was roaring, but against him. A gladiator could draw strength from the crowd, but they always knew whose side the cheers were for. Certavus had none, but that wouldn’t stop him from fighting. He’d put everything he had into this. He ran for Perditus as the other gladiator ran for him. Perditus was slower; his hammer slowed his steps, while Certavus had speed with his ribbed sword. When they met, fate decided the outcome in a moment. Perditus fell on his face into the sand, blood streaming out from under his helmet, staining the sand red. He moved no more, but Certavus had let him live. The crowd fell silent, all except for Raanu, who was scrambling. “Release them now!” he was screaming, “Release the Vorox! Let foul beasts of sport end him!” Agori were running to do Raanu’s bidding, to release the few captured Vorox into the arena. They were used for sporting matches and executions. This would serve as the latter. Certavus looked around, turning to keep a view on everything in the arena. He met Gresh’s eyes, and then broke contact, going and meeting the eyes of a gladiator on the other side, behind gate. Certavus finally stopped and yelled out to the crowd as another gate was being opened. His words burned into the mind of Gresh, watching with fear from behind the gate. “There stand no champions here!” Certavus screamed, “Only men and their fates!” And with that went Certavus’s sword, finding itself buried into one of the Agori whom had opened the Vorox gate. Certavus was on the move, running towards them. Before anyone could react, he pulled his sword from corpse and slashed the chain off of a Vorox being handled by another. The Vorox turned on the Agori, ripping him apart. “Close gate!” Raanu screamed, “Close gate or Lord of Sanctuary help me! I will send you to Keeper of Pandemonium!” Before the Agori could get the gates closed, Certavus had slipped through. He was beyond the walls of the arena in short order, and nothing Raanu could scream about could stop the gladiator. Sword tight in hand, shield tight in other. Gresh lifted the shield up to catch the sword of Vastus and pushed back. He took a step forward and swung his sword down in a chopping motion. Somehow it wasn’t Vastus’s shield that caught him, it was sword. Gresh hadn’t even realized that the older man had slipped his sword off of the shield. Vastus had his body sideways to Gresh, allowing him to twist and backhand Gresh across the face. Steel of the helmet smashed into his head, sending him stumbling. As he looked up again the shield smashed into his face, sending him onto his back, sword at throat. “You must yield,” Vastus told him. Gresh was always at unease when Vastus spoke; his voice cold and smooth, although it gave off a sense of hissing, like a snake. “And if I choose not?” Gresh questioned. He had become wiser since Certavus had attempted rebellion against the gladiator and slave system two years ago, but apparently not much. “What if I wish to die, sword in hand, than continue to fight for amusement?” Vastus’s cold eyes regarded him, and then he shook his head, “Gresh, a gladiator can only live one way. That is by following orders. We don’t have the will to choose life or death.” “We do,” Gresh told him, “And right now, I choose to die.” “Our lives belong to our village leaders,” Vastus told him, “You cannot make the choice you try; only they can.” “Put sword through my throat, and then that is false,” Gresh told Vastus. “No,” Vastus told him, “I refuse. You have a long life to live.” “A life in servitude I never wanted!” Gresh told him, “What good is a life without freedom?” “A good enough life for the rest of us,” Vastus told him, walking away from the downed Gresh. The arena of the jungle tribe was similar to the fire tribe’s arena, but with trees overhead, blocking out the sky. Nobody sat in the stands; it was just the two gladiators. “And if I’d rather die, sword in hand, honor intact? I don’t want to die on the whim of Folium!” “You are a gladiator, Gresh!” Vastus shouted, “Honor has no place in the arena!” Gresh threw himself to his feet and cast aside weapons. He threw his helmet to the ground as he moved towards Vastus, his sandy hair falling around his face, matted in sweat. “And what of Certavus? The man had honor; you always said as much!” Vastus tore his rounded, dulled helmet off and threw it to the ground. He turned to Gresh, face weathered and lined, with thin eyebrows, black eyes and a sharp nose. His black hair hung down to nearly his shoulders, with a prominent widow’s peak present, along with a few spattering’s of gray and silver from age. His voice was colder than Gresh had known it to ever before be. “The past is done; the future yet to be known. Embrace the present and strike all else from concern.” Gresh stepped after him, but Vastus’s cold eyes stopped him. Vastus turned his head and walked away, leaving Gresh standing alone in the arena. “So, you wish to follow example of traitor?” a voice echoed. Gresh span around, eyes scanning the stands, but he saw nothing. He kept turning, shouting out, “Who speaks? Show yourself!” Finally a short figure in emerald garb rose from the stands. He had tough working gloves on, the fingers tipped with claws for the sake of gripping and digging. He had a hunched appearance, and wore his sandy hair in a long braid down his back. He stepped his booted foot onto the wall of the arena and leapt down, landing away from Gresh, but slowly approaching. “Tarduk?” Gresh questioned. “Gresh, I would have words,” Tarduk told him. Gresh would have been fearful of an Agori overhearing his talk about Certavus, but he trusted Tarduk. Tarduk was an interesting man; focused on history and treasures, looking to the past instead of the present or future. “You speak of Certavus, a man branded traitor,” Tarduk told him, “I care not. I care about our promise.” Then it hit Gresh. “Oh, right,” Gresh said, extremely relieved. He reached up and pulled on a string around his neck, pulling free a leather pouch from beneath his armor. He opened it and emptied out a golden trinket into Tarduk’s awaiting hand. “Ah, at last!” he said, “You know not how long I’ve awaited this!” “I had to practice, or I’d have seen it to you sooner,” Gresh said. “Actually, no,” Tarduk told him, “Do you forget that you’re unable to walk the streets? You’d have to wait for me to arrive in the slave quarters.” The slave quarters were built into the arena. Gladiators had very little room to move; their quarters, a room for meals, a bath for cleaning oneself every few days, and the arena, for training. They could not go beyond the walls of the arena. “You know what I meant. I figured you’d be around here,” Gresh told him. Tarduk just nodded, no longer paying him much heed, just turning the thing over in his hands, “How did you acquire it?” “Berix,” Gresh said, leaving it at that. Tarduk didn’t need to hear more. “Have a good fight,” Tarduk told Gresh, hurrying off with his treasure in hand. Vastus didn’t look at Gresh much during the caravan ride to Tajun, the village of water. The older man just looked out at the desert through the small window they had, albeit barred. They were in close proximity and in armor, but Vastus still wouldn’t look at him. He’d rather strain his neck to look elsewhere. Gresh said nothing either. He just looked at his hands, shackled together. They were in chains during transport, but it could be worse. They could be walking, chains or not. A caravan ride in chains was the better alternative for all involved. By the time they reached the water village, and the two gladiators were taken to the arena to wait behind gates, Folium had met with the leader of Tajun, Egil. Gresh pushed himself against the gate and looked up to try to see them, and hear what they spoke of, but to no avail. “You cannot trust gladiators,” Raanu stated to the other two as he sat down, his crimson robes billowing out over the chair. “I find that some can be,” Folium stated, “It takes years, but you can find some” “Ha!” Raanu laughed, “Our opinions differ far too much,” he stated. “What of you, Egil?” Folium asked. Egil was the youngest of them, brown of hair, with half of it dyed blue. He had a youthful face, but hard eyes. The opposite of the other two; Folium being middle aged with fading black hair and bright green eyes, and Raanu being between their ages, brown of hair with temperament flaring in his eyes. “I find Tarix to be trustworthy,” Egil said, “I’ve trained with him before as well. He had many a chance to take my life, and he did not.” “He knew he couldn’t escape the city,” Raanu said dismissively. “Certavus escaped,” Egil stated. “Certavus was lucky, and everyone was at the arena,” Raanu said angrily. “If it makes you feel better, he’s no doubt dead,” Folium told Raanu. Raanu just grunted. Egil turned away from them and looked down at the arena, “Citizens of Tajun, guests of villages elsewhere; in the name of my predecessors, as leader of Tajun, I, Egil, present to you contest between challenger from Tesara; Gresh,” he spoke, “and our champion, Tarix!” he screamed. The crowd erupted in roars, even those not of Tajun began to scream and cheer. Tarix was considered the greatest gladiator, and his fights were always something special. Gresh’s gate opened, as did the gate opposite, holding Tarix. The two walked out; Tarix clad in his blue and gold plate armor, and Gresh in his green. The last time they had met, Gresh had been young, not strong enough for the armor. Now he filled it, and was ready. Gresh pulled his sloped helmet onto his head; it was his personal helmet, to compliment his armor, not the rounded training helmet from before. He drew his shield from his back; it was elongated, holding a leaf-like pattern to it. It was his only weapon. He looked across to Tarix, wearing a sloped back helmet with raised edges atop it. A tube was affixed near his mouth, leading into his armor. He carried twin blades; they held a shaft to them before curving into a wicked looking edge that had a wave-like curve in them. “Now, honor the arena and the Lord of Sanctuary with your blood! Begin!” roared Egil. The crowd roared as Tarix ran through the sand. His feet didn’t slide under the grains, but Gresh’s did. He had difficulties maneuvering, being taken off guard with how fast Tarix was, even in full armor. He lifted his shield before himself and ran forward to meet his foe. Tarix slammed his left weapon down, meeting Gresh’s shield. Gresh twisted his body, narrowly avoiding the swing of the other sword past his defenses. Gresh pulled his weapon back and thrust it forward, forcing Tarix to put his weapons into an X to parry. Gresh span around and went low with a leg sweep. Tarix’s footing was weakened, so Gresh followed up by ramming his shield upwards into Tarix’s chest, stumbling him back. Gresh pressed his advantage and ran forward, not knowing who the crowd was cheering for. He jumped forward and threw the shield out as a punch. Tarix sidestepped and slashed Gresh across the chest. Gresh felt the impact, but his armor wasn’t cut. He staggered around, taking two more rapid slashes from Tarix which sent him to the ground. “Tarix! Tarix! Tarix!” was being shouted by most of the watchers. Gresh turned his head, meeting Vastus’s eyes behind the gate. He rose and gripped his shield with both hands, pulling the two edges apart, creating two leaf-like swords, the blades running along his arms like tonfa. Gresh ran forward and swung his left one out, keeping it along his arm. Tarix parried. Gresh flipped the other one around to wield it like a sword. He swung down, but it was parried as well. Gresh kicked Tarix in the chest, sending him stumbling back. He ran forward, slashing twice, getting hits in on Tarix. The other gladiator went down. Gresh looked back at Vastus once, and then up at Folium. Was it over? Should he go for the end? “A gladiator’s first distraction is his last!” Tarix roared, sweeping Gresh’s legs out from beneath him. Gresh hit the sand on his stomach, his body slamming into the steel of his armor. It was a hard and painful impact, and definitely not something he wanted. Gresh swung his weapon out, but Tarix swung his leg over it and stomped on it, keeping it pinned to the sand. He kicked it away and kicked Gresh in the head. Gresh used the momentum to get onto his back and throw his other weapon, now able to see and aim. The weapon clipped Tarix’s shoulder, but did nothing. Gresh rolled, using it as a distraction, and gripped his other weapon. He took the handle in both hands and drove it for Tarix’s gut, crying out as he thrust. Tarix parried, swinging the sword down and out, making it go around his body. He punched Gresh in the helmeted face with his other fist, knocking Gresh to the ground. On impact he lost grip of the weapon, but it lay beside him. Tarix crouched, crossing his blades at Gresh’s throat. There was enough exposed flesh to make this a kill if he swiped his blades. Tarix glanced down, seeing Gresh grab his sword again with his right hand. “Loose weapon or lose head,” Tarix hissed so only they could hear. “I’d rather die fighting than continue to be a dog, than continue to fight endlessly for our leaders. At least in death I’d be free!” Gresh hissed. “We fight them by living. They seek bloodshed and slaughter; by living, we oppose what they want. It’s our small act of defiance, and the only way we can join Certavus’s will for now. Now yield!” Gresh slowly took in Tarix’s words. He remembered Tarix, two years ago. He had assumed Tarix just didn’t want to see a young gladiator die for no reason. Had he wanted to side with Certavus? Had he believed in Certavus back then? Gresh loosened his grip and let the weapon lay. He slowly lifted his hand, extending his index finger. Surrender. The crowd exploded with cheers as Tarix rose, sheathing his weapons across his back. He looked at the downed Gresh, his eyes conveying more than words could. Gresh couldn’t speak of this. Gresh couldn’t speak of Certavus, or defiance. He had to fight, he had to go on, or else he’d be executed before he could do anything. Vastus helped Gresh to his feet and brought him back to the area behind the gate. They shared a look, and said nothing as Gresh walked on and sat down, watching as Vastus walked into the arena, helm covered in twin snakes, scythe clutched firmly in hand. He was about to fight for the only glory that slaves could know; the glory of the arena.
  7. Kineex is a former member of the Sister of the Skrall and explore the wasteland. I didn't know how a female skrall look like because Lego nether show one of them, plus note the clock is not purple, it just like that because of my camera and it is really black. Her mask is a custom stringer mask i have made. http://www.flickr.com/photos/93028248@N08/9340220704/
  8. ^ CLICK IMAGE TO VIEW MOCPAGES GALLERY ^ So, these are the MOCs I made for Brickfair NE 2013. Two Toa and two Glatorian. Rivoln and Neyon are somewhat simpler than my usual MOCs, but I'm still satisfied with them. I may make more MOCs, but this is probably the final set. Feedback is appreciated.
  9. So I decided to post these. These are basically my adaptations of the Glatorian in BIONICLE. They are basically human like. Only two so far,GreshAnd Kiina
  10. So, my first Bricklink order (coincidentally, he lived right by my school ), buying Breez from Brain Attack (awesome set by the way), two nights of missing homework later, and tons of photo editing, I finally got my entry for BBCC #64: Furryous Fighters done: Lagerus ^Link to Gallery^ Deeplinks below (also a pretty awesome banner, if I do say so myself) A bit of backstory: Lagerus was a novice Glatorian who got his first experience fighting in the Core War under the Elemental Lord of Jungle. He managed to survive, and relocated to what would become Bota Magna when the Shattering occured. He and a few other surviving Jungle Glatorian formed a new Jungle Tribe. To contest for food with the other tribes, the Jungle Tribe took on armor based on the native creatures, colored to blend into their native jungle. Lagerus took on the guise of some of the smaller species of biomechanical dinosaurs and improved his spear skills. By the time Spherus Magna was reformed, he had become a prominent fighter in his tribe, often put in charge of battalions of Glatorian in the tribal wars. He quickly joined with the Bara Magna Glatorian in rebuilding, but still spent most of his time as a loner in the jungles that had become his home. Entry Pic The background is from Spamic on a popular art site, used with permission. That editing took forever though! I think this is my largest and best MOC yet, and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, even if a lot of the other entries are very cool as well. Front I think I've got some pretty good part usage in here, and I'm proud of the armoring on him. I particularly like the chest and torso armor. If you can't tell, he's based on various types of lizard and gecko, as you can see in the hands, feet, body proportion, and sort of helmet. Angle Some more cool details Side I also rather like the leg design, as it took me the most time to figure out. It took me most of my first day of MOCing to figure out how I wanted to finish up the legs. Back His back also has a place to store his spear. Head Detail: 1 2 His helmet is actually a backwards helmet from Speeda Demon, and then some spikes through the eyes to make him a little more lizard-like. Hand Detail: 1 2 The hand design was my biggest challenge for the photoshoot. It's not nearly as stable as it looks, but it looks very lizard-like, and really helps the overall look. Leg Detail As I said, love it! Spear Detail That Nynrah Ghost Blaster Ammo was pretty much the closest thing I could find to a lizard head mixed with a speartip, to get something like Vastus' spear, and it turned out pretty good. Skeleton: Front Side Back Just because pictures like this (especially Chro's, thanks) kept me inspired through this, and gave me a lot of ideas I needed to build something larger than normal. Hopefully it inspires someone as much as other people's inspired me. So, that concludes that. Hope you guys like it, feel free to leave comments, critism, etc. Best of luck to you all in the contest!
  11. This is Ovea, the second Glatorian of Vulcanus, and a character in the Yesterday Quest and Secrets of the Star. She is essentially a more feminine version of Malum. the weapons on her arms are Flywheel-type things that give a spin to the two Thornax Launchers after being fired, and also can be used as melee buzzsaws after her Thornax balls have been used. 12. This is Lanok, the new second Glatorian of Tesara after Vastus retires and Gresh becomes the first Glatorian. He appears in the Yesterday Quest (Link in my signature). Since he's going to be involved more in the next series, Secrets of the Star, I decided to make an MOC of him. There are a few modded parts in the sword (The two silver Inika kneeplates are cut so they can fit flush with the rest of the sword, and the bottom of the handle is cut so it fits all the way into his hand.UPDATED VERSION:Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Lanok/Lanok-NEW/lanok_front_new.jpgBack: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Lanok/Lanok-NEW/lanok_back_new.jpgFront Attack Mode: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Lanok/Lanok-NEW/lanok_attack_mode_new.jpgFront Daggers Drawn: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Lanok/Lanok-NEW/lanok_daggers_new.jpgFront Sword Lightup Action: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Lanok/Lanok-NEW/lanok_light_up_action_new.jpgFront No Weapons: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Lanok/Lanok-NEW/lanok_front_no_weapons_new.jpgBack No Weapons: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Lanok/Lanok-NEW/lanok_back_no_weapons_new.jpg
  13. This is Shardus, the second Glatorian of Iconox, and a character in the Yesterday Quest and Secrets of the Star. I was aiming for a bulky looking character, and decided to try using a different eyecolor since every single Iconox character I've seen built uses blue eyes. So here he is!Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Shardus/shardus_front.jpgBack: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Shardus/shardus_back.jpgTop: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Shardus/shardus_top.jpg
  14. Well, I've been (kinda) busy so I present Nix, Ice Glatorian, and Lykaon, a Skrall!Nix (1,2)A member of the Ice Tribe, Nix is a skilled warrior. Her father is an inventor, and she has always tested his newest inventions. She wields a modified Thornax blaster and an Ice Tonfa.Lykaon (1,2)Lykaon is a rarity: an honorable Skrall. His helmet is in the shape of an Iron Wolf's head, and he wields a Leader-class Skrall blade, which he took from its deceased owner, and a Thornax launcher.
  15. Alright, so I decided that since Surel has now appeared in my continuation of the Yesterday Quest, I mine as well build an MOC of him, plus he's a mysterious and interesting character in my opinion. The MOC isn't complicated, I built it from the picture that was drawn for his character, and I tried my best to give him the crippled and destroyed look (I even added the tattered Vezon cape, which looks really good on him). Unfortunately, Lego never designed a face that would even come close to looking like his, so I just left him with no helmet. Please leave C&C, and try to ignore the blank face.Front: http://www.brickshel...surel_front.jpgBack: http://www.brickshel..._surel_back.jpgReference: http://biosector01.c.../File:Surel.png

  17. Alright, this is Jadar, an Iron Tribe Glatorian that I built for a friend's series. For those of you who don't know, Iron Tribe members actually wore Blue and Gray Armor (They dyed it Orange after the plague). just FYI. Please give me some feedback, be specific in what you like/dislike so I can improve the model!Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Jadar/jadar_front.jpgBack: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Jadar/jadar_back.jpgSide: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Joev14/MOCS/Jadar/jadar_side.jpg
  18. What do we know about the physical characteristics of Agori, Glatorian, and the other natives of Spherus Magna? I think Greg says they have hair, but where does it grow? Just on top of their heads? Can they grow beards, too? Armpit hair? And is the color of their head in the set supposed to be the color of their skin?Going by the set forms, they seem to have large feet, though we can't tell how much of that is boot. Compared to human proportions, Agori seem to have large hands while Glatorian have small heads. I think their faces are supposed to look more organic than the faces in the set do, but going by the basic details of that piece, they have wide jaws, large, square, wide-spaced nostrils on a flat nose, and large, sort of rectangular eyes that might not have visible pupils. And another question: are the bug-like mandibles of Vorox and Zesk actually part of them, or just part of their helmets? What else do we know or can we assume about these beings?
  19. So, I was browsing my Karda Nui comics, and I noticed something interesting. On the back of the final 2008 comic, there is a teaser for 2009. It has a desert image with a gigantic robot piece and a smaller being looking at it. The smaller being is Matoro Inika, or at least a perfect lookalike. What the heck? Was there any plans for Matoro beyond his sacrifice, or was this random chance?
  20. A vehicle constructed by a rogue member of the Iron tribe, the SETEBOS//X11-5 is a large, automated scoutship. Although it can carry a Glatorian, it was originally designed to be unmanned. It is currently in the possession of an outcast Glatorian, known for his prosthetic arm and killing blades.123456789Just a quick MoC to try out my vehicle-building skills.C&C appreciated! =3
  21. This is the review topic for my epic Bionicle Evolution which can be found here http://www.bzpower.com/board/index.php?showtopic=4585Comments are appreciated as well as corrections on grammer and spelling that I may have missed.
  22. Hello. This is the first time I've ever posted an Epic and also the first time I've ever posted in the Library Forums. This story details my interpretation of the adventures of the Shperus Magna and Matoran Universe characters after the 2010 storyline. As the post 2010 story serials have not updated in some time and appear as if they will stay dormant indefinately, I chose to write around some of the loose story threads in them as I have no idea what Greg was planning for them (for example I'm choosing to write around the Red Star plotline) The review topic can be found here http://www.bzpower.c...?showtopic=4586 Bionicle Evolution Chapter 1With a slow grinding and clanking noise, the lift began to rise. Onua’s eyes were already struggling to adjust to the light as he came up from the depths. He was nervous, for he was not only climbing up towards the light, but also back towards the inquisitive eyes of many beings. The Toa Nuva were heroes again. It had happened a few weeks ago in those tense hours of chaos after the end of it all. The Toa’s mortal enemy, the Makuta, had finally been vanquished once and for all thanks to the power and bravery of the Great Spirit, Mata Nui. Makuta had stolen the Great Spirit’s original form, a massive mechanoid which had contained the world the Matoran and Toa had inhabited. This had posed a problem. For as Makuta fell dead upon the ground of the reborn Spherus Magna, the mechanoid began to shut down, and in three days its systems would completely collapse, dooming all within. It would be impossible to evacuate a universe within that time, but the Toa could not abandon the Matoran who had endured so much to get to this day.The Toa didn’t have to face this challenge alone however. The inhabitants of this new world, the Agori, were quite willing to help those who were aligned with their friend Mata Nui. Indeed, the Agori had experience in this department, having weeks ago had unwittingly dragged ancient robot parts across the dessert to serve as a village. Mata Nui had latter used that massive robot to fight Makuta, and it to lay destroyed across the land. This new challenge was more difficult though. The Robot the Agori had assembled was smaller, it hadn’t contained the additional weight of universe within it, and the Agori had only moved separate parts, not a cohesive whole. But it was crucial that the robot be moved. Makuta’s defeat had caused the robot to fall on its side, meaning the level of death and destruction within would only increase once the internal gravity stabilizers failed and the Matoran fell away from the landmasses. But they had succeeded. Organizing quickly, the Toa realized that enough beings with the enhanced strength of a Kanohi Pakari might just be able to pull the robot onto its back. That’s were the Toa Nuva came in. With four Kanohi Pakari Nuva at their disposal they split up, gathering a large group of Agori, Glatorian, Toa and other beings with each of them to different areas along the side of the robot. Cables were anchored to the metal hull, and together they pulled, all strengthened by Kanohi Nuva and their ability to share powers. Thousands of beings, all gifted with enormous strength, pulled in unison, and slowly the robot began to move unto its back. Momentum increased and the metal giant, propelled by the planets gravity, began to fall over. Sensing the danger, the Toa Nuva quickly summoned their Kanohi Kakama Nuva so they could evacuate their groups several hundred miles from the robots impact. The robot was now in a position where the failing internal gravity of the universe was aligned with the natural gravity of Spherus Magna. In the days that followed, aided by exidian and protosteel tools, as well as Toa of magnetism and iron, they had cut holes through the top hull of the robot. Now the evacuation of flying beings would be easier, and the natural circulation of air and sunlight through the holes would keep the eternal environment somewhat habitable once the robot’s backup systems completely failed. It was towards one of those holes that Onua was now ascending. He was on a lift that had been constructed to carry beings and valuables out of Metru Nui’s dome. He had made many trips like this one already, carrying useful supplies and equipment down to Spherus Magna. After reaching the top of the robot’s head where the island of Mata Nui previously existed, he would descend down the side using scaffolds constructed by Matoran and Agori. After handing his load off to a transport caravan, Ouna triggered his Kakama Nuva and sped towards New Atero, a citadel, that once completed, would be a haven for beings from both worlds. As he ran, the world a blur around him, Onua’s mind returned to a matter gravely concerning him. It had been over a month since the Makuta’s defeat and still no sign of Lewa had been found. Kopaka and Pohatu had covered many kio, but all they had found were the remains of a nightmare. Now the Toa had separated, each to pursue matters most pressing to them.“This is not good”, thought Onua as he arrived at the outskirts of the growing citadel,” I thought we learned the error of forsaking unity back on Mata Nui.”--------The two masks were inches from each other. There were eyes filled with uncertainty behind one of them, but the other was empty. Not even the metallic stitches that once held the patchwork Kanohi together could keep the mask cohesive now.“It’s over. You know that, right? It’s finally over.”Lesovikk pulled his eyes away from the destroyed Olisi and looked down at his companion, the Ta Matoran Sarda. “Yes, it’s over,” said Lesovikk after a pause. The brooding Toa of Air had spent centuries hunting Karzahni, looking for Matoran friends that had been mangled and hidden by the twisted being. Now one such friend, Sarda, stood at his side, and Karzanhi was dead. Toa Kopaka and Pohatu had returned with his body and with the allegation that Lesovikk had been responsible for his death. In his mind, Lesovikk admitted that some part of him would have relished the act, but in reality he knew he hadn’t become so consumed with vengeance to actually go through with it. The chief charge Kopaka had presented had been Lesovikk’s own sword. Just when it seemed as if life had conspired to wreck Lesovikk’s life even further, a powerful figure named Axonn had appeared, absolving Lessovikk of all guilt using his mask of Truth. The Kanohi verified Lesovikk’s story that he had lost his blade in a scuffle with a large group of Skakdi following a strange golden being. Kopaka and Pohatu had quickly departed after the Skakdi upon learning of their possession of the Toa Marhi, leaving Lesovikk here, with the Mask of his mortal enemy. Days had passed since his acquittal, and still he held the Olisi with him unable to think of the next move. He had tailed Karzahni for so long. After the madman’s first defeat Lesovikk was able to channel his energies into capturing pit prisoners with Sarda and Hydraxon. Now on this strange knew world he was at a loss as to where he fit in.The Toa of air stirred from his thoughts. He heard Sarda shiver against the cold of the deepening evening. Lesovikk’s fears eased. He knew that whatever he faced on this strange new world, his friend would be there at his side. Together to began the walk back to Atero.“It will be OK,” Sarda reassured him as they walked. “Things change, we grow and we evolve.”The Toa and Matoran passed over the ground as the night fell on Spherus Magna.
  23. Are Glatorian able to access mask powers? If not, would the Ignika granting them elemental powers allow them to use Mask Powers?
