  1. I watched the animated film for Bionicle 2015 on Facebook. And then I wanted to make these. Ekimu: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/EkimuAndMakuta/ekimu.png Makuta (Before Mask of Ultimate Power): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/EkimuAndMakuta/pre-moup_makuta.png I tried to make the Mask Makers as close as possible to their appearances in the animated film, in an attempt to see what they might be like as sets. Comments and criticism are welcome! The masks were as close as I could get them, by the way. The Mask of Creation and the Mask of Control aren't in LDD yet (Obviously) so I compensated.
  2. Bionicle: Kingdom come As written by yours truly An artificial story tying all my MOCs together Let's get on with it already. Chapter 1 Finally found The Ga-metru Town area was constantly filled, be it salesperson or pedestrian or official. There was always a good reason to be there, even if there wasn't, as if anything large occurred, it occurred there and nowhere else. As for decency, none of the Matoran were cheap or criminalistics. They all knew each other, and liked each other, and it kept their social status up. There were a few Matoran, Male ones, called in to wear blue armour and be social leaders, but they had to be trusted to their position. Kihohiki, Matoran of sound and the most outstanding of the Matoran implant leaders, finally groaned. He flopped his hand out of bed and wished he could just crack the alarm clock in two. Straining, he raised himself out of bed, and eventually got ready to go. It was a weekend, which meant he had to do some announcements at noon. Remembering that suddenly, he whipped himself around to face the clock. 11:57 A.M. Dropping breakfast 'til lunch time, he bolted out the door and ran as fast as he could to the city square. After a few minutes, he walked up to the edge of the Podium, and opened up a small slip of paper. "Welcome, once again, to the Ga-metru public announcement area(still city square). Thank you all for coming, and continuing to stay conscious this long." After a short laugh from the audience, he continued. "Our main announcement we wish to state is that this next week, we will be hosting the official election party for sub-city official. The candidates are up, and we hope you have a person picked out to vote for, because..." he went on, noticing a being, much bigger than a Matoran or Toa, sitting just out of sight of anyone else, scanning the crowds for something. As Kihohiki talked, he kept his eyes on that being, all while unlatching a firearm from the inside of the podium, until the being noticed Kihohiki staring right at him. He pulled the firearm out, and yelled out "Freeze!", but the being did not "Freeze" as expected. He instead leapt towards the podium. The Matoran fired, but the firearm didn't even stratch it, and it landed on Kihohiki, knocking him unconscious. Kihohiki awoke in great pain. He tried to move, but to no avail. He flashed his eyes open as best he could, and got a help at doing so when a hideous, disoriented figure looked down at him distastefully. Kihohiki gasped/screamed, and tried frantically to slip away, but to no avail. The odd creature laughed, and it turned into more of a diseased cackle. Moving away, Kihohiki noticed it was wearing a lab coat, but heavily stained with blood, and the whole room he was in looked like a ruined laboratory. That's why I can't slip away. thought Kihohiki as he felt the heavy metal straps holding him into position. The odd creature returned, with an I.V. in his hand, and slowly slid it into Kihohiki's arm. Kihohiki cringed, and shed a slight tear. He was deathly afraid of needles and was scared to have them even be next to him. The "Scientist" laughed a more sincere laugh, and lent in close to him. "Why are you weeping, Hm? Don't you know Toa don't cry?" and with that, he injected the anesthetic. Next chapter coming up soon.
  3. OK so we know about the Makuta's master plan. We know he needed to dispose of Mata Nui's spirit somehow and he chose to do that by putting it into the Kanohi Ignika and launching it into outer space. My question is: why the Ignika? It's the most powerful mask in the Matoran Universe. If I were overthrowing someone my first choices would be (a) kill him or (b) put him in a position where he has no power. There were like a million powerless Matoran Kanohi he could've put his spirit into, why did he choose the most powerful Kanohi of all, the one Kanohi that could create a new body and grant its allies Elemental Powers? And come to think of it, why did he put his spirit in a Kanohi at all, which can survive outer space? Why didn't he just put Mata Nui's spirit into Hafu, ejected Hafu into outer space (he did that anyway) and that would be the end of it: Mata Nui would be dead. BS01 states that the Makuta knew about the Ignika's power to obliterate all life in the Matoran Universe and wanted it gone for that reason, but that doesn't answer my question: the Makuta could have easily expelled both the Ignika and a hypothetical other host for the spirit of Mata Nui such as Hafu. That wouldn't solve the problem of having some sentient Kanohi out there with powers over life, but at least it would be controlled by the very immature Toa Ignika. Although the chances of Mata Nui coming back to fight the Makuta might have been small, it's like the Makuta was trying to run a risk here by giving the most powerful object in his universe the mind of the former most powerful being who he had now turned into his mortal enemy. So, why?
  4. A few days ago, I created a topic with my intial versions of Ekimu and Makuta. Now I'm back, with... Post-MoUP Makuta! Front image: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/EkimuAndMakuta/post-moup_makuta.png Back view: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/EkimuAndMakuta/post-moup_makuta_behind.png I used Witch Doctor's helmet as a stand-in for the MoUP, seeing as it hasn't been released yet. This build was mostly two things. One was actually trying to create a decent representation of Makuta after using the MoUP. The other was messing around with the new Chima 2014 shells which have recently been added to LDD. Anyway, comments and criticism will be appreciated!
  5. First of all, I know that the user Makuta Miras did his own take on these characters before I took the chance to post mine, I just want you to consider this as a revision of his oeuvre, without any sort of destructive criticism. If you are reading these lines, I encourage you to keep doing amazing works such as your most recent one. Keep rockin', bro! ;D My version of the mask makers Ekimu and Makuta (which Makuta?) resembles more to the concept of the Protectors, judging by the fact that they aren't Toa/Masters; they are the promedium citizens of this world, the only difference being that they are blacksmiths bathed in gold. Without any futher a do, here they are: - Ekimu - Makuta Aside from Miras, I send shotouts to NickonAquaMagna and Bionicle Blog Shinobi.jp for their amazing gear function concepts. Nice work! And thanks to LEGO for remaking BIONICLE and sharing it's new animation webseries. Feel free to comment and give your opinion on this work, I truly appreciate it! Cya.
  6. Makuta lives on! That was my first thought with all the news today, my thoughts on the entire situation I'll write below in sort of a bullet-pointy way. - Unlike some, I'm actually really digging the animation style of that video we got. - Is that the same narrator from the old BIONICLE videos? - Wow, they could have named these two Artakha and Karzahni and we would have heard this story before. - I'm a bit curious if they're saving the name Mata Nui for something else, or just doing away with it completely. - THE MASK OF ULTIMATE POWER - I wonder where the Toa come in from all this. - Also, yay, they're actually being called Toa. So that's a pretty basic list of my thoughts so far. Can't wait to hear more. - Makuta of Metru Nui Okoto?
  7. Hello there, I am an amateur Drawer, Vuk-91. I have been a fan of Bionicle ever since the first years. Let this image be my introduction-card as well as a conception of "Yet another version" of Bionicle's main Villain, Makuta Teridax, as a Dragon. (In a similar fashion to Miserix just not made of lego of course X3) Not too detailed but I hope you like it. I had to use some reference for the wings.
  8. Here is a subject I've seen pop up a couple times in the various Bionicle 2015 topics, so I thought it would be good to make a poll out of it. Do you want Teridax to return in Bionicle 2015 as the main villain? If not, would you want another Makuta to be the main villain? And would want to see the Makuta species in Bionicle 2015? I say no to the first two questions. I believe Teridax's time in the storyline is over. He had a good run, but its time he stayed dead. I also wouldn't want to see another Makuta as the main villain, as I think it would be better to see a new threat in Bionicle 2015. As for the third question, I wouldn't mind seeing the Makuta return as a species, but not as the main villains. (Not at first, anyway.) I think that, if they were brought back, they could be built up in story a little bit instead of just thrown into it like in the Karda Nui storyline. These are my opinions on this, but I want to hear yours. What do you all say about this?
  9. This is, I believe, my third topic in BCC, and it's a self-MOC. Introducing the one, the only, Makuta Miras! Current Version (3.5): Front: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras31-2/img_0062.jpg Back: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras31-2/img_0065.jpg Front (Wings furled): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras31-2/img_0067.jpg Version 3.0: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras3/img_0050.jpg (I apologise for the bits of Rahkshi on the sides. ) Version 2.0: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Makuta-Miras/MakutaMiras/Miras2/img_0033.jpg Unfortunately, I couldn't find the ancient 1.0 and 1.5 versions, so you'll have to be happy with these. Anyway, the difference between 3.5 and 3.0 is the fact that 3.5 has better chest armour. 2.0 was kind of a low point, as Miras developed a bit of an 05 titan look, which didn't really work. Also, in 2.0, his wings were static. Which isn't good at all. The 3.0/3.5 torso is definitely one of my better ones, as the Rahkshi backbones really give it some shape. Comment, criticise, and above all else, be prepared to be disintegrated, critics! (That was a joke, by the way. I wouldn't do that. A Guurahk might, though. Except I don't have one. ) [Edit] Okay, version 3.5 has been entered in BFTGM!
  10. Spectrus was a long dead Makuta from times past. In his day, Spectrus was quite fond of destroying armies in a rather peculiar way. He would stealthily have one of the enemy soldiers killed. He would then reanimate that soldier's corpse with his Kanohi Tryna, and have him kill another soldier. The more of his enemies killed, the more corpses he was able to revive and use to kill more of the enemy forces. Spectrus would repeat this process until none of the enemy forces remained alive and would then release the undead beings from his control. The inspiration for this MOC came from the idea that the Mask of Reanimation was considered an immoral mask. It seemed logical that at some point a Makuta would have worn one. As always, feedback is appreciated. 11. The BIONICLE canon is dark, full of horrors, unnecessary sci-fi-ness and inconsistency, and we're trying to make it a bit more consistent. Behold the table of kraata powers (and possibly other ones)! Version 1.1. Version 1.5 by Tremah. Version 2.0 by Tremah.
  12. So, anyways, I was bored today and decided to make a sub-standard banner. Here it is: Chirox forming out of wispy red stuff that got too blurred along with Chirox. Woohoo. If anyone bothers to use it, here is the URL: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Grank/mymocs/makutabanner.png Enjoy. Or not. Your choice. If used, please give credit.
  13. Certainty Only today I have found this record. After returning to Destral from my latest conquest, I decided to give myself a taste of the triumph I will feel at the culmination of my life. I, Makuta Icarax, sat in Teridax’s throne. I sit there now, a living affront against his leadership. Looking around the chamber, I see the mechanical Rahkshi and Exo-Toa looking typically emotionless, in sharp contrast to the Visorak, who look extremely nervous. While they may be concerned about the mayhem which would erupt if a brave/stupid Makuta caught me here, they are more likely experiencing the effect which my presence has on all beings. Some may shrug me off and pretend to be unfazed, but I know that they fear me like everyone else. As I collected my thoughts a few minutes ago, I absentmindedly placed my claws on the arms of the obsidian throne. I soon felt a cunningly concealed switch. After ordering all the guards out of the room, I pressed the switch, and heard a very small click. When I located the source of the sound, I found a small cavity had just opened on the side of the throne, barely visible in the dark stone. I noticed a hole which was obviously a lock. Undaunted by my lack of a key, I extended a tendril of shadow into the lock, triggering the mechanism. A slab on the side of the throne slid aside, revealing a hidden space. I reached inside and removed a number of tablets. Upon examination, I found that they were the records of Makuta Miserix. After briefly scanning the tablets, I decided that they held no practical information which I did not already know. But then I was struck by an idea: I will be the next leader of the Brotherhood. There is no doubt in my mind as to that. While Teridax seems to have been too paranoid to leave his own records, he must have found these notes. I will not be such a fool. While I am sure that, were his Plan possible, and were it too succeed, he would fabricate some history for himself, I will not be such a coward. After all, why would I fear the truth? The events I chronicle here took place only a little while ago. The Brotherhood-Dark Hunter War was waging with all its glory, and I had chosen my next target. As I stood on the bow of my warship, I scanned the looming fortress. Though shrouded in the darkness of the night, this presented no problems to my forces and I, being mostly creatures of shadow anyways. This particular fortress was millennia old, and it looked it. It would be difficult to infiltrate silently; those who would attempt to scale the walls would risk pulling down part of the treacherously unstable ruins. In addition, the stronghold took up most of the stable land on the tiny island; most of the surrounding “land” was either sea or ice. Seawater that washed up against the walls froze in the frigid air, creating a slick surface. The fortress had been originally built by a group of Toa, long dead. Sometime after construction was complete, they realized that the entire region was infested with Frostelus. Toa can be so arrogant. A few months ago, the Dark Hunters recognized the place’s strategic location and dispatched a battalion to occupy it. They had raised such fortifications as they could, but the crooks and thieves that too often make up Dark Hunter armies are unused to actually building something. As soon as sufficient Rahkshi had arrived, I began making preparations for my assault. I sent a group which possessed stealth-related powers to infiltrate the fortress. As I looked up at the ramparts, I finally saw what I was looking for. Silhouettes of guards crumpled as they were struck from behind by my covert Rahkshi. I pointed my sword at the fortress, and mentally issued a command to move forward. My reptilian soldiers and Rahi silently obeyed and moved forward as one, beginning to scale the fortress. Meanwhile, I would assault the front. This would be suicide for any other being, but I am not any other being- I am Makuta Icarax. Spreading my bat-like wings, I glided up to the rampart and clung to the side. “Ugh! I’m out here freezing, while the boss is nice and warm in there!” complained a guard. Peering over the wall, I identified him as a member of the ruling species of Stelt. “ ‘Stay alert,’ he says! ‘Keep your weapon ready,’ he says! As if a Makuta would come to this wreck! Curse that piraka of an overseer! The Shadowed One ought to-” He froze as he realized his words could be taken as criticism of his overlord. Seeing no one around but a member of Stelt’s servile species, he continued ranting. “And furthermore- ACK!” he coughed as spray from an especially large wave caught him in the mouth. “I’m DRENCHED! ‘Course the boss doesn’t care, being a fish!” I’d had enough. I grabbed the collar of his armor and pulled him off the ledge and into the sea. The brute lumbered over to investigate the sound of the splash, and saw me as I clambered over the rampart. He bellowed with rage and charged towards me. I bent forward and, using his own momentum, catapulted him over my shoulder. He fell into the sea with a satisfying “plunk”. I charged my blade with Fragmentation energy before slamming it into the rampart. As the wall collapsed in a cloud of dust, I sprang clear of the explosion, and called upon my control of Gravity to gently float to the ground. After clearing a space in the rubble using my power of Molecular Disruption, I stepped into the fortress itself, and then re-sealed my makeshift entrance. No one would get out that way. As I made my way down the main corridor, it quickly became apparent that the Dark Hunters had discovered my troops, as I cut down Hunters as they attempted to flee. Vermin. I thought about those first two guards as I proceeded down the passageway. The first had been more intelligent than the second, but his physical weakness had distracted him from my presence. The brute, on the other hand, had been superbly powerful physically, yet his mental capacity had led to his downfall. Neither would have made the other’s mistake. I, however, had exploited both their weaknesses to ensure victory. For a moment I reflected on what makes a great warrior. For much of my existence, I have struggled to pinpoint the elusive characteristics a warrior should possess. I am certain that I am a great warrior, hence my quest to define the perfect warrior is a quest to define myself. I know one quality of a true warrior should not have: impracticality. Teridax is a prime example. That fool wastes time and resources on useless schemes. He gambles the entire universe on a lunatic scheme! My train of thought had reached this point when I arrived in what was clearly the fortress' central chamber. The room was impressively large, and presumably was originally some kind of strategy or command center. Now, however, it was chaos. Energy bolts, weapons, and even beings hurtled across the room. My forces were pushing the Hunters back, but some had managed to make a stand. I knew from experience that that group must have been urged on by a particularly fearsome leader. As I scanned the room for such a being, I spotted a movement out of the corner of my eye. A scrawny Hunter tried to make a run for the door which I had just come out of. Before I could kill him, a spiny whip wrapped around his ankle, tripping him. He was immediately set upon by a Lerahk. The Poison Rahkshi, in turn, collapsed with a thrown knife in its leg. I looked around to find the being responsible. I looked at him. He looked at me. His reputation had, in fact, reached my ears. I had once heard another Makuta complain about the disruption he caused to trade in his region. Of course, I had no intention of letting him know he had reached the notice of Makuta. “Hello, Makuta,” he hissed. “I’m sorry, but I didn’t catch your name,” I responded nonchalantly. “Amphibax, and what of yours?” he asked. “Why would sea-scum like you deserve to know it?” He knew I was baiting him, and I knew he knew. Therefore, I was surprised even more when he hurled a knife at my head. I easily sidestepped it, but Amphibax had already dashed forward, making up the distance between us. We did not speak as we fought; the clash of our blades spoke plenty. However, he stood no chance. With a neat flick of my sword, I knocked away the knife he held, and I quickly formed bonds of shadow around him. He gasped for breath as I constricted the shadow tendrils, when suddenly they writhed and flickered, allowing him to slip free. I was too astonished to react for a second, giving my new attacker the opportunity to encircle me with a wall of flames. I shoved a blast of Vacuum power in the direction I thought Amphibax was, clearing the fire away from me. I saw a bulky suit of armor covered in flames, thrashing about. Then it aimed its claws at its torso, and created water which extinguished the flames. The being stepped out of the cloud of smoke. I groaned inside. I recognized this Dark Hunter, and it figured that I would be fighting one of Teridax’s mistakes. “You’re welcome,” Kraata-Kal snapped at Amphibax. I merely scowled, and hurled bolts of lightning at both. They barely managed to escape the potentially lethal attack. Kraata-Kal, his smugness gone, cast successive blasts of water and fire at my feet, creating a nearly opaque cloud of steam. Calling upon my Adaption power, I dramatically improved my sense of hearing just in time to hear the whistling of an incoming blade. I stepped back just in time to avoid Amphibax’s claws, and I then spun around to parry Kraata-Kal’s blade. For some time this went on, as I defended myself but was unable to find an opening to attack. Then, I found my opportunity. Both lunged towards me at the same time, even as I twisted to the side. It was all they could do not to impale each other. I rammed Kraata-Kal with the flat side of my Rotating Shadow Blades, shoving him onto Amphibax. As they wearily struggled to their feet, I laughed. I was just getting started. Now I was on the offensive, and it took all of the Dark Hunter’s skill just to survive. Finally both seemed ready to collapse from exhaustion, when I noticed something. It was almost nighttime. Without realizing it, I had fought for the entire day. I decided that I had better finish this battle. It was somewhat embarrassing that this group of scoundrels had held out for so long against the might of the Brotherhood. I had, until now, refrained from using mental attacks out of a desire to hone my skill in hand-to-hand combat, something which required much more practice to maintain than telepathy. But now it was time to strike without mercy. My mental attack tore through the duo’s minds as they screamed in agony. Then I heard him. “Having fun?” “Teridax?” I asked with astonishment. “Who else? I have work for you,” “You’ll have to make an appointment,” I thought as I closed off my mind. “You would do well not to ignore this, unless you want me to deliver on my promise.” I grimaced, remembering the humiliation I had suffered at his hands. I admit, I was surprised that he was able to break through my mental defenses at such a distance. After putting up significantly stronger shields, I thought for a moment. I decided to find out what he wanted before acting. As much as I longed to kill him, he was far away and I didn’t even know what he was trying to do. I knew his Plan (or at least, what he had told the Brotherhood), and whatever he was asking didn’t seem to be part of it. “Finished brooding? I want you to retrieve my mask.” “What?” “You’ll find it in the Silver Sea, outside Mangaia.” I had no idea how he had lost his mask, but I sensed there might be a story behind this which he had no intention of telling me. I paced a little, turning my back to Amphibax and Kraata-Kal as I considered his offer. But as I considered the prospect of discovering some embarrassment of Teridax’s, I decided to go to Metru Nui. “Fine. I’ll get it.” “I knew you’d realize who the superior being was.” He always knew what to say to enrage me the most. I always hated him for it. I sensed his mental presence vanish as he broke off our telepathic conversation. I turned around. Amphibax and Kraata-Kal were gone. The battle was still going on, but those two were what mattered. They were the only Dark Hunters of significance here. These others- they knew nothing, they were worth NOTHING. I could hear nothing. My vision was tinged with red. I screamed. I struck left and right at anything that moved. I didn’t care what. It was Teridax’s fault. He had cheated me again, and everything that breathed would pay the price. When I came back to my senses, I was surrounded by wreckage. Twisted metal, rubble, and even a pool of molten metal occupied much of the land once taken up by the fortress. I was not too exhausted, due to my Mask of Scavenging. The thought reminded me of Teridax. I did not rage again, luckily for the few beings of both sides who had either hidden or fled. My face was twisted into a smile, as I decided what I would do. Now, I sit on Teridax’s throne, wearing Teridax’s mask. After retrieving the Kraahkan, I fetched the Staff of Artakha for him. That particular tangent does not seem to have gone anywhere. Teridax is insane. This is the end of his reign. I will no longer accept his orders. He deals in murkiness, obscurity, and deception. How could such a being ever be a stable ruler? He has ordered the most skilled Makuta in combat to assault Karda Nui, the universe’s core. We are completely overqualified for this task. A Makuta has the power to crush an army. It does not take eight of us to fight a handful of Matoran and Toa. I will not be an accessory to this madness. I have refused his command and live in clear rebellion. I expect that when I write my next entry in this chronicle, I will be writing as uncontested ruler of the Brotherhood. Icarax replaced the tablet inside the throne. After examining the mechanism for a second, he reengaged the lock. Only the sharpest eyes could tell that the pitch-dark throne was any different. He thought about Teridax, about the Brotherhood, about his ambitions. He was still for a long time. A twisted Matoran would soon interrupt his thoughts. He would be convinced to change his plans. Icarax would leave Destral, and his hidden record. When he traveled to Karda Nui, he headed to triumph and conquest. Of that, he was absolutely certain.
  14. So here is a question that I've been wondering about for a while. Did the Makuta have too many powers and abilities? Forty Two powers are a lot for one being to have, and doesn't include their abilites to use Shadow Powers and Kanohi Masks. Here is a link to the BS01 Rahkshi page that has all of their powers listed: http://biosector01.com/wiki/index.php/Rahkshi Note: I know that Makuta lose some of their powers when they are inhabiting a robot or soul-less body or if they are exposed to Pit Mutagen. I'm asking this question from the perspective that the Makuta in question have all their abilities and are inhabiting Makuta Armor. I just want to state this to avoid any confusion Anyway, I say that the Makuta did have too many powers. I know that they couldn't use more than one of them at a time, but I still thought that they had way too many. As for the second question, I would simply let them have fewer powers but let each of them have different ones, kind of like Toa with different elemental powers or the Piraka. Now I want to hear from you guys. What do you all think about this?
  15. (Image will link to gallery when public.) This is my interpretation of good old Teridax as he appeared in the Toa Empire alternate universe, who was not given any description except that he wears a Hau instead of his normal mask. So I decided to pool my three Toa Iruini parts and make this guy. Front View I was heavily inspired by the newest live action Transformers film's Optimus Prime design at the time, which led to the almost knightly / samurai armoring. Back View Under all the armor plating, he's mostly just a Phantoka Makuta build, but that's due to my own incompetence at custom torsos / limbs. Staff Could have made a better weapon, but I was constraining myself from using silver pieces. The Resistance Also pictured are a generic Inika build of Takanuva, and a Pohatu Mata built to the size of modern day sets. Thank you very much for clicking on this thread and looking at my MOC! Feedback appreciated.
  16. This is probably my dumb question for the week, but how did Teridax off them all? Did he get all of the remaining Makuta into Karda Nui? I know that Teridax offed a bunch of them that sided with Miserix, and then Tobduk killed Tridax...but I only count 8 Makuta in Karda Nui in 2008. Out of 100 Makuta, you'd think that some of them wouldn't fit into the above categories (opposed the plan, ended up in KN).
  17. Many members of the Brotherhood of Makuta use subterfuge and intrigue to achieve their goals quickly, efficiently, and best of all, silently. The self-proclaimed "Mad Locust" is not one of them. He believes that, with a massive set of powers, ultra-tough armor, and lack of moral light even before the Turn, the Makuta were not made for subtlety and skulking in the shadows. While many of his brethren share similar views, Kamazotz is notable for using this belief to act like a stereotypical Matoran tale villain: that is to say, he's loud, over the top, he likes abusing underlings, he likes announcing his plans, and he likes toying with enemies that he should have killed long ago. None of the other Makuta regard Kamazotz highly due to his behavior, and he is pretty far down in the Brotherhood hierarchy, only slightly more important than generic peons like Rahkshi or Exo-Toa(though, according to some, at least the underlings know when to shut up). However, despite being regarded as a twit by everyone on Destral, a few of his fellow Makuta have found ways to include him in their plans by bringing him along and pointing him in the direction they want him to go. Kamazotz goes of to destroy, pillage, and generally make a Brakas of himself, and the other Makuta goes off to get their tasks done while everybody is distracted. Kamazotz is content with this, as it gives him a chance to smash things and fight Toa. Kamazotz wears the Kanohi Pakari, Mask of Strength. The boosted strength given by the Kanohi allows Kamazotz to wield extremely large and heavy weapons with relative ease. 20. While most people think Miserix is the only Makuta left, I think there may be others that still exist. Here's my reason for thinking so: Once upon a time, Makuta were biomechanical beings just like any other MU species. I believe this means that Makuta that died prior to the evolution to gas in armour would have been teleported to the Red Star and repaired like any other biomechanical being. For this reason, I believe at least five Makuta may be alive inside the Red Star. The Makuta in question are the five Makuta who sided with Miserix when Teridax overthrew him. Teridax ordered all five of them killed, and their masks hung on the walls of Destral as trophies. Depending on how they were killed, they may have been teleported to the Red Star after death for repairs, and then trapped there after that infamous teleporter malfunction. In addition, some Makuta were known to have died while dispatched on missions. Some of them may have died before the evolution, meaning they too would have been repaired inside the Red Star. However, Kojol and the Makuta killed by Zaria would not be among these Makuta, because they are both proven to have died after evolution. Kojol had his evolved essence incinerated in a Xian furness, while the Makuta killed by Zaria was hunting him because of the evolution, which made their kind vulnerable to Toa of Iron such as Zaria. Are there any details I'm missing? Any feedback to disprove my theory? C&C welcome.
  21. I had an idea for a plot if anyone is gonna continue the story of Spherus Magna in the original story. We've seen very little of the Dark Hunters, (at least the individual characters such as Mimic, Ravager and Savage etc.) and we really have no idea what they've been up to now that things have drastically changed. Enter Vengeance. Recall that he's the Dark Hunter who was captured by Lhikan during the Dark Hunter-Toa War. He swore revenge on Lhikan but when Teridax killed Lhikan first, he felt cheated of his revenge and sought to kill the great Makuta himself. Here's where my idea comes in: Teridax was killed by Mata Nui in the great Robot Battle, which again, robs Vengeance of his due revenge, so the next logical step would for him to vow to kill Mata Nui! He'd seek to obtain the Ignika that houses Mata's spirit and try to find a way to either destroy the mask, or get Mata Nui out of it, so he can properly kill him. Tell me all what you think?
  22. Finally finished with one of my main MOCs I'm sending to Brickfair Virginia to join the Karda Nui display. Also my entry to the July Flickr contest. ^ Links to Flickr Gallery ^ Krika is one of my favorite characters in Bionicle. Though for most of the story (well, the few months we knew him), he seemed like a typical cruel Makuta bent on the Toa's destruction. Then, at the last second, he tries to redeem himself with Gali with one of the more interesting conversations in the latter years of Bionicle. Not only does that make his character more interesting, but also provides some secret insights into the Makuta culture in his final moments. Still, his set wasn't great. It definitely had a more unique shape than most, but lacked posability and complexity. And I have no idea what Lego was thinking when they used those spiky pieces for the back legs. They're great pieces and all, but they don't blend with the general aesthetic of spiny ridges the rest of his armor has. Of course, I fixed that, and a few other things, making him more insect-like and more like something you would expect to crawl out of a mutagenic swamp. This creation was based on a drawing I did a while ago (you also get a preview of the terrible WIP and the Vamprah revamp I didn't get to), continuing my style of basing my designs on Bionicle art. As always, comment, critique, and enjoy!
  23. Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted on here, but now I'm back with a theory about Kraata formation. This theory will explain the different processes the Makuta used to create Kraata, but first we need to establish some facts. 1.) We know that before the Makuta evolved from biomechanical antidermis to gas/energy antidermis that they could produce Kraata, but the process was "lengthy and yielded weak kraata" (BS01). 2.) After their evolution "the Makuta found that they could create superior Kraata and in much less time, though creation of the slugs would weaken them for a short period of time" (BS01). 3.) "Antidermis can regenerate even if parts of it disperse or are destroyed, but not quickly enough to survive outside a container" (BS01). I think that before their evolution the Makuta would grow the Kraata from an exposed area of their tissue, willing that tissue to bud off from itself and form the slug. This growth process would take time and be fraught with errors (imagine scar tissue growth in humans) explaining the "lengthy" and "inferior" aspects of the process. This growth would most likely occur in a specially shapeshifted area of the Makuta's armour, such as the various Rahkshi spines on Teridax's Shadow Titan form, in order to protect the growing Kraata. After their evolution this process became more streamlined. Doing away with the exposed area within a growth chamber the Makuta would simply allow some of their essence to leak from their armour. Once a sufficient amount had leaked they simply willed it into solid form, creating a Kraata. This would be a much quicker way of creating Kraata. Also by creating its entire body at once, it would contain fewer errors and so be a superior specimen. Additionally, as the Makuta in question used up some of their Antidermis to create the Kraata they will need time for it to regenerate itself, explaining why they are weakened for a short time after creating Kraata. So what of you think? Any problems, comments or suggestions?
  24. So, just a few confusion I've had for a while, regarding Takanuva's actions in MoL (maybe not the book, I haven't read it). In the film, Takanuva goes to confront Teridax in his lair, and, since none but the Turaga knew about Metru Nui, his only motive would have been to stop Makuta from doing all the evil and destructive things he had been doing, with an extra stake of avenging Jaller's death, plus he probably would have assumed that beating Makuta was part of his destiny. Now, maybe he was initially confident that he could beat Teridax, although it seems crazy he would want to take on a Makuta that the 6 Toa Mata could not collectively handle so soon after becoming a Toa. So, first question: 1. How much time did Takanuva/Takua wait before going to face Teridax? The film makes it seem like he went to Mangaia within like a day after becoming Takanuva, but this seems crazy to me considering that it took the Toa Metru so long to really master their new forms and powers. Sure, he would have had the Turaga and Nuva to train him up, but there's no evidence of this in the film. It'd be like going to face a game's final boss without completing the tutorial level! Now, granted, he is a Toa of Light, and so his powers are very effective against Shadow, but I understand that Shadow is likewise very effective against Light? So if the Mata/Nuva's non-opposite powers made made the fight like a fist fight, where you can usually hit your opponent a good few times before they go down, wouldn't Takanuva and Teridax's 'opposite' powers make the fight into more of a knife fight, were one good blow can mean game over for either side? I get that Takanuva is basically an anti-Makuta weapon, but surely Makuta are also anti-Takanuva weapons. It would have just heightened the stakes. I get that Makuta in general would be pretty scared that you have a new player on the field = that can basically use a metaphorical knife against them, and someone like Teridax would be much for defensive as a result, but Takanuva's Light powers were still Toa-level, and a Makuta's Elemental Shadow powers always seemed to be on a higher tier than a Toa of Shadow would be. So: 2. Why would the Brotherhood of the Makuta be particularly scared of a single Toa of Light? Really, the Makuta should, in my mind, still win in a one vs. one like 3 times out of 4, so I don't see why Takanuva was so terrifying for them in general as just one guy. Can someone justify it for me in other terms? Considering all of the above, and just general common sense considering a Makuta is a serious threat to anyone (let alone Takanuva): 3. Why the Karz did Takanuva think it was a good idea to summon ALL the Matoran into Maktua's Lair?! What if he had lost the fight? Makuta would have had the Matoran right there! Sure the Toa Nuva would have probably been fighting a battered Teridax and thus won, but it seems so irresponsible of Takanuva to risk things like that. Surely, if he was so keen to fight Makuta alone, but was still worried that he might lose, it would have more sense for him to have the Nuva on standby to finish Teridax off? Even if Teridax's plan required Takanuva to be alive for later, there was no way for Takanuva to know that. It seems like it was just a lazy way to force the Matoran to return to Metru Nui, but since Takanuva wouldn't have known about Metru Nui, I cannot think of a single good reason to get Hahli to summon the Matoran.
