  1. So, in this timeline, the toa metru don't ever come to existence, they just stay as matoran. Makuta terridax succeeds in erasing all the matoran's memory, even memory of their gender (matoran gender usually depends on their voice and element), explaining why korgot is a girl, and why the old jungle protector has a jungle tribe wife. Makuta somehow also steals the mask of creation, intending to use it sometimes in the future. He steals other ancient artifacts, including the mask of light - we will get to that later. In his time as dume, he learned a lot about matoran culture, and the art of mask making, and because he doesn't want to wait untill poor vakama makes the mask of time, he makes it himself, and succeeds. Now he is ready to wake up the matoran (now okotans) on the island of mata nui (now okoto, because he wants the matoran not knowing about mata nui, so they wouldn't revoult and want to return to his body) under his rule. He will provide them with masks of power, which they would use in daily life, and will keep the secret of mask making for himself. For thousands of years, he made all the masks himself. But one day, a ta matoran (actually just a av matoran in disguise) in an another world known as takua, but here going by the name ekimu, working for makuta as a janitor, finds the mask of light, but he accidentally knocks it into lava (no, now it isn't incased in stone) and that lava eventually flows to the place where he once comes through to become the toa of light (in journey to one). Not realising what he's done, and thinking it was just a normal mask, he keeps on working. Then makuta came into the room, and saw ekimu. Ekimu, interested in his art of mask making, asks if he could know how he makes those masks, and begs makuta to teach him his art of mask making. So, makuta, needing some help in his workshop, accepts him as his apprentice. They, for thousands of years made masks of power for all the okotans, but untill eventually makuta went insane, ekimu killed him, and the toa killed him again. The end. Some notes include culta and the skull villians being fallen toa, the skull spiders and LOSS being mutated visorak, and the elemental beasts being pure elemental rahi. This theory is definetly flawed, for instance, how the heck are okotans able to reproduce (we clearly know the jungle protector has a child, and in the webisodes the fire protector talks to his son) but let me know in the comments.
  2. Let me explain ... So there are obviously ridiculous amounts of parallels between G1 and G2, or not so much parallels as rehashes. But what if this wasn't just a marketing ploy, what if these connections actually hinted at something bigger? (Okay, they obviously don't, but it's pure headcannon from here on so sue me.) The way I see it, the whole of Gen-2 is actually a prequel to the original series. Ekimu is Artakha in disguise (this is far from big stretch, they both have the same mask and fulfil similar functions), and he created the whole of Okoto to test out the Toa Okoto (later to be Toa Mata) before deployment. The whole thing is one giant crash test. He knew they'd be up against Makuta, so he created a fake to serve as an enemy (along with fake matoran, fake adversaries, he's basically testing his creations). Nothing more to it really but it makes things very nice and neat in my head. Anyhooooo ...
  3. Legends. Stories scattered through time. Lies. History is such a vague concept, splintered and forgotten and ignored. Single moments captured upon the tip of a feather, everything else falling away. Lessons to be avoided. Events to be repeated. Cycles that begin only to end again. Welcome to Okoto. It is divided into several regions. Kamuk in the northwest; the North at its tip; Agua Hielo to the east; and the growing empire of Aodhiim in its south. At the island’s heart lies the Ancient City, abandoned. A Cornerstone of what once was, corrupted and tainted. Some would claim life on Okoto is peaceful… …more lies. Have you ever questioned the nature of your reality? Okoto remains ravaged by its histories. Kamuk’s military a splintered shell of its former self, the Knights of Ekimu turned fanatics, the people of Karamu vanished and gone, Aodhiim growing bolder in its divisive beliefs by the day. Ghosts haunting what remains of the Barren. Magic, that twisted, evil, darkest of things, spreading its wings once more, not content to be forgotten. A Cornerstone locking the island into its past, trapping it in its future. Its destiny. The dreaded. Rare is the moment that war does not rage across Okoto. Long nights and longer days; rebellions, usurpers, lands reduced to barren wastes. The conquered become the conquerors, then the conquered again. Falling up and rising down. Kings and Queens alike. War is Okoto’s history. War is Okoto’s reality. War is Okoto’s eternal dream in its eternal night. A cycle that ends only to begin again. The eternal truth of its people. You cannot run from it. The Great War. The three gods, the trinity. Ma, Ata, Rollor. Creation, Destruction, Balance. More legends. More lies. Loved and feared in equal measure. Okoto, their favored. Whispers spread now, of three legendary masks. One for each of the gods. Life, the great creation. Power, the great destruction. Time, the great balance. Beyond all comprehension. Broken and shattered, scattered. Little more than shards. Time has gone, faded away. The balance is lost; the threads of reality quake. The lie is becoming truth; the dream is becoming reality. The game has begun. The Great Game. Life and Power. Creation and Destruction. But can there be life in a dream? Can there be creation inside a nightmare? Only power remains. Pure power, split into six shards, and now guarded by those most fearsome of places. The Cornerstones. Where magic pulses and breathes and is alive. Alluring and repulsive, safe but threatening, cunning most of all. They seek reunion. They drive the game now, this game of thrones that Okoto plays. Do you hear them calling? You will. Win or lose. Win or die. You’re in the Great Game now. And this is your legend. Your story. Your lie. Your destiny. Only that… …and nothing more. Welcome to the Great Game. E0: The Great Game E1: Dreams in the Dark E2: The Nature of Reality E3: All Our Sins Remembered E4: From Shadows We Fall E5: Those Who Wander E6: Ashes E7: The Monsters that Make Us E8: From a Spark, an Inferno E9: Sentinels of Darkened Skies E10: No Greater Good E11: The Chosen Sparks HOW IT WORKS The game functions in rounds, known as “episodes”. Each episode will last for one week; there is no limit to the progress that can be made in any of the campaigns beyond your own abilities to move forward. Each person can play up to three characters and can therefore participate in up to three of the campaigns (though preference will always be given to those who have no characters signed up yet). PLAYER SHEET To play, you must fill out a character sheet (one for each character you hope to play) and post it here. I reserve the right to deny characters that don’t fit with the tone and atmosphere of the game, but I will always be open to discussion and will give my recommendations for how to make any necessary changes – so long as you are willing to meet me halfway. I will try to take campaign preferences into account when dividing characters later, but I cannot make any promises. Certain returning characters will be locked into certain campaigns, unless their players can provide me with very good arguments to place them elsewhere. Player Name: [Your Name] Campaign: [Which campaign you would prefer for this character] Character Name: [self-Explanatory; common last names for each element are listed below] Gender, Age, Element: [self-Explanatory] Personality: [What is your character like?] History: [What is their past?] Greatest Fears: [What are your character’s 3 greatest fears? What do they seek, what are their hopes? What do they fight for? Why are they here?] Ultimate Power: [What would your character do with the Mask of Ultimate Power? How would they re-shape the world?] Strength: Agility: Intelligence: Charisma: Common last names for each region/element: Stone-Maran, Raqmu, Petros, Galum, Archean, Stalac, Umrik, Rigut, Hijr, Dagada Ice-Greavesey, Crustallus, Glacies, Nivis, Rime, Sivr, Nakali, Treml Water-Rayne, Corruich, Vatten, Tyde, Conlectus, Lurrun, Diurim, Shayl Jungle-Boscage, Briar, Gresh, Lasang, Saryian, Raieb, Shayd, Rani, Oak Fire-Aodh, Coal, Ember, Ash, Pyre, Cinder, Skorsh, Sear STATS You can use your stats to assist in determining your character’s strengths and weaknesses. You’ll complete the stat sheet alongside the character sheet and send them in together. Each character has a Strength, Agility, Intelligence, and Charisma stat; you’ll number each from 1 to 4, with 4 being the strongest stat. For certain actions in the game, you will be asked to roll a 6-sided die; when rolling, you will add your stat bonus to the result, increasing your chances of success. A MAP OF OKOTO: Click the image above to see a map of Okoto for this game. The map includes many major locations, including the various Cornerstones that you will visit. 4. (Season 1 - Season 2) EPISODE 00: Sahmad's Tale EPISODE 01: End of the Beginning (I-II-III) EPISODE 02: Divided We Fall (I-II-III) EPISODE 03: Shadow of the Storm (I-II-III-IV-V) EPISODE 04: Of Gods and Men (I-II-III-IV-V) EPISODE 05: The Long Night (No Scenes) EPISODE 06: Epilogue (No Scenes) ENDING (Beginning of the End) -- Welcome to Okoto. It has seen half a century of near-constant conflict since the year 296 AE (After Ekimu). Voxumo’s Rebellion; the War for the Throne; the Battle for the Dawn; the War of Five Kings; the Magical Crisis. Each one seemed to permanently alter the landscape of the island, only for everything to change when the next rolled around. As it stands now, in 347 AE, the island is divided into six regions. The nations of Kamuk, Agua Hielo, Karamu and Aodhiim; the centrally located Qendroj City; and the Barren, an abandoned ruin in the southwest. The past fifty years have taken a toll on the island. Historians, optimistic, refer to the Magical Crisis as the end of a time period known as the Age of War… but after six years of a shaky peace, calamity threatens Okoto once again. Something stirs in the Barren. All across Okoto, the local wildlife has turned hostile, corrupted by a dark force. For once, this mystery has been quickly solved, as the legendary Spirit of the Wild, Keetongu - long thought to be only a myth - has been sighted all over Okoto. Experts within all regions, particularly associated with the Knights of Ekimu, have noted that both Keetongu and the hostile beasts share several notable traits. Gleaming red eyes and a shadowy aura surrounding them are the most noteworthy, although temperature drops have been noted as well. With Keetongu corrupted and wildlife liable to become hostile at any moment, travel has become extremely dangerous, and trade even riskier than before. Relations between the nations are holding for now, but Okoto has a history of dealing with similar strain rather poorly… and with Toa Lewa, Toa Kopaka, and Toa Pohatu all now fighting against their own failing sanity after encounters with Keetongu, relations will crumble faster than ever before. The only beasts that seem to be completely free from corruption are the six mythical Elemental Creatures. Formed millennia ago from the dying energies of an ancient Titan, sightings of these creatures were sporadic and rare up until three hundred years ago, when they vanished entirely. Having been thought lost for centuries, the sudden reappearance of the creatures - with all six having been spotted all over Okoto multiple times - in recent months has some Protectors convinced that they are a sign that Okoto’s greatest conflict is still to come, and soon. As if the stirrings in the Barren, the corruption of Keetongu, and the reappearance of the Elemental Creatures were not already enough, six fearsome beings have been sighted all over Okoto. These beings, each of them standing as tall as a Toa, all radiate power and shadow. Ancient texts recovered from the homeland of the Mask Makers refer to these armored beings as ‘Rahkshi’, and they are said to be generals who once served Okoto’s darkest shadow in the time before time. They are sinister to the core, and all attempts to negotiate have been met with slaughter. The ancient texts claim that their master was once imprisoned deep below Okoto by the united strength of the six Titans… and with all six Titans now dead or gone, they - and their master - are breaking free. Hope might not be lost yet, however. Deep within the ancient texts, the Knights of Ekimu managed to uncover and translate a prophecy believed to be older than even the Titans themselves. It refers to a ‘Takanuva’, a Toa of Light, who will be born of the god’s divine will to protect Okoto from its darkest shadow in its darkest hour. Who this Toa is and how they can be found, however, are unknown. For once, Okoto might face threats united together. But the island’s leaders have always been power hungry, and there are always those who seek any available opportunity to tear others down to build themselves up. As old foes weaken and the chance to avenge old wounds opens, how many might resist the urge to fight once more? Okoto’s darkest shadow is breaking free of his chains, and his generals already roam the surface. Once he is freed, Okoto will face its darkest hour, and even united together, they might not have strength enough to survive. This is the Great Game, the Game of Thrones, where you win or you die. The Age of War has ended. The Age of Shadow has begun. HOW IT WORKS The game functions in rounds, known as “episodes”. A few key mechanics of the game are explained below, but it cannot be stressed enough how the game’s very nature leaves many things open to interpretation, manipulation, or even being outright ignored. If you have any questions about whether a move you want to make is legal or not, simply shoot the hosts a private PM to ask. If a move is impossible to make, we’ll let you know. If you’re up to it, you can also read through Season 1 or Season 2 to get an idea of some moves players have made in the past. We’ll start off with each round lasting approximately three days, but I guarantee you that it will fluctuate round to round, depending on activity. MOVES Every player will make their moves for each round via PM, of which there are two kinds - OFFICIAL and BACKDOOR. An official PM is any PM that involves the hosts. Moves made in Official PMs are the only ones that will be included in the scenes for each episodes, which means they are the only moves that will actually occur. If you want to kill another player, or bar them access to a location, or even speak with them directly, that must take place in an Official PM. The upside to Official PMs is obvious - it is how you make things happen! The downside is that anything in an Official PM could end up being used in a scene, and become public knowledge. When the episodes are released, we will include IC tags in each “scene” to note which players can consider those particular events as something that their character would know about. A Backdoor PM, then, is any PM or method of communication that the hosts are not a part of (although any Skype chats with the hosts will be considered as Backdoors as well, unless otherwise stated). Anything said or done in these PMs will not be included in the scenes, which means that they will not technically occur; in this way, the downside is obviously that your abilities are limited. You cannot kill someone (or take other such drastic actions) in a Backdoor PM. But they do allow you to operate behind the scenes where myself and others cannot see, and this can allow you to set up plans that might take several episodes to come to fruition. Some Example Actions TRAVEL Click the map up above to see the nations of Okoto, along with their largets population centers. Each episode, players can travel through adjacent nations (or halves, in the case of Agua Hielo) at a rate of one every 24 hours. Sailing can be done to decrease travel time by half, with a tradeoff that your voyage will become common knowledge wherever you leave and wherever you arrive. COMMUNICATION Will be a primary action in every round. Keep in mind that while Backdoor PMs are very useful, unless you learn that information in an Official PM, you cannot make use of it… unless, of course, you find a way to act on it without giving me a reason to call you out for metagaming. Each nation will be given their own Official PM; the same goes for other factions such as the Knights of Ekimu, among others. OTHER ACTIONS There are a variety of other actions that one might decide to take in a round. Perhaps you want to keep someone silent for a little while. Perhaps you want them silenced permanently. Perhaps you uncover new information, requiring moves not listed here. Players have poisoned entire regions in the past, burned down entire jungles, and survived confrontations with the commander of an undead horde. We have not thought of everything, for that would be impossible; and we’ll keep an open mind. Again, if you are uncertain about an action, run it by us and we can let you know if it’s possible. ROLES A quick note on roles: these will not always function the same as they have in previous seasons, as we have strived to provide as many players as possible with their own individual goals and storylines as possible. Personal storylines take precedent over fulfilling your role. RULER-These players rule over their respective nations or factions (in the case of Agua Hielo, both Rulers work together). They have final decision-making power over the players in their nation, and their opinions can sway a vast number of Protectors. They must worry about the approval of those living in their region, make sure the other players in their region do their jobs, and must contend in a deadly political arena with the other rulers across Okoto. Rulers have different titles attached to them in each nation. Kamuk uses King, Agua Hielo’s Rulers are known as Khans, Karamu uses Makani, Aodhiim uses Imperator, and both Qendroj City and the Knights of Ekimu are subject to their respective Lord Commanders. GENERAL-These players oversee their nation’s army, barring a few select cases. Should it become necessary, the General will also serve as their nation’s second in command should their Ruler perish or disappear. They must worry about the morale of their troops, while also keeping up to date on the movements of other forces across the island. DIPLOMAT-These players oversee diplomatic relations and trade. They will often need to travel to perform their duties, though Qendroj City is often used as a neutral meeting ground. They must worry about their approval, as the public will dislike a Diplomat that does not appear to be performing their duties… but in today’s Okoto, a Diplomat must always be careful not to appear too friendly with those from outside of their nation. LOREMASTER-These players have been charged with maintaining the lore and histories of their nation or faction, and are knowledgeable about Okoto’s ancient histories. The Loremasters have all had the opportunity to study the ancient texts of the Mask Maker Voltex, and might be able to shed some light on the newest threat emerging on Okoto. STATS These stats will help each player to set themselves apart; you’ll fill out a stat sheet and send it to me via PM when you sign up. You can fill them out to help you with a certain role, or fill it out to help you in other areas. Certain players might receive bonuses in stats (or other areas) depending on their roles, or whether they are playing a character that has survived a prior season. You will be given 15 points to assign wherever you choose, and can assign a maximum of 10 points to any individual stat. For more complex actions, you can choose to roll the relevant stat to increase your chances of success. PHYSICAL- Deals with all physical skills. This includes running, fighting, dodging, strength, agility, endurance, stamina, and ability with weapons, among others. MENTAL- Deals with all mental skills. This includes intelligence, charisma, perception, planning, and critical thinking, among others. LUCK- Can be used to give a small boost you roll for either of the other stats in a difficult roll. The LUCK stat can only be used once every five rolls. PLAYERS/FACTIONS Click this link to see location info. - Kamuk “As Strong as Stone” The Nation of Kamuk is largely self-sufficient. Thanks to new harbors they have a constant supply of fresh seafood and water, on top of their skills working with stone and metal to craft homes, tools, weapons, and other equipment. Kamuk is ruled by its King from its capital, Daggerfall, in the nation’s west. Daggerfall is home to what many consider to be the most deadly political arena on Okoto; rarely a week passes by without news of another politician’s ‘unfortunate’ demise. The nation’s relationship with the other countries and factions on Okoto are all carefully neutral; under the guidance of House Maran, Kamuk has shifted and evolved into a nation that actively seeks to increase its power and wealth. Others may barter with them at their own risk. Its military strength is approximately 11,500 Protectors strong, with an additional 2000 in training. Its navy is still in its infancy and without a large harbor to serve as a proper headquarters, and as such is only 200 Protectors strong. Recently, a Stone Protector named Ahkmou Umrik has made a name for himself throughout Kamuk, and he has risen to become a significant player in Daggerfall’s political arena. It is unique on Okoto for consisting of two former regions - Ice and Water. Its two commanders and rulers during the War of Five Kings - Nato Greavesy and Terrorsaur Rayne - re-ignited their old alliance from the War for the Throne in the early days of the war, and once the internal conflicts within their region were snuffed out, they showed the rest of Okoto their combined military might, their regions slowly transforming into Agua Hielo as it is known today. Like Kamuk, Agua Hielo is largely self-sufficient, although trade between the North and South is commonplace, and both rely on the other for resources. The North supplies the vast majority of the nation’s land forces, as well as arming over half of its navy, which is the strongest on Okoto. The North is also responsible for the nation’s steel; advances since the Battle for the Dawn led to a new method of forging weapons, wherein the steel is infused with the ice powers of Toa Kopaka, giving the weapons an elemental boost in addition to strengthening the steel, though it is a long and arduous process, and weapons forged this way are extremely rare. This new metal is called ‘Cryosteel’. The South, meanwhile, is responsible for providing almost everything else - food, water, animals, and building supplies, mainly. While most of Agua Hielo’s land forces are stationed in the North, most of its navy is held in the South. Agua Hielo has two rulers, known as ‘Khans’, who rule from its two capitals in the North and South. The northern capital, Grave’s Peak, is in the center of the North. Built up from the ruins of the old House Gelu capital, it is now a veritable and nigh-impenetrable fortress thanks to the guidance of Nato Greavesy and Toa Kopaka. Outsiders - even those from the South - are almost always denied entry. The southern capital, Ignika, is in the northeast of the South. Refurbished from the ancient, formerly sunken Ignika City, it served as the battleground of the Battle for the Dawn. The city remains infused with the magic of the Mask Makers, enough so that any attempts to forge a Mask of Power within the city’s walls are more likely to be successful than anywhere else on the island. The national words of Agua Hielo refer to the alliance that the nation grew from. A simple alliance between two Protectors at the start of the War for the Throne that evolved into a fearsome joining of military forces during the Great War, which evolved even further into two regions combined into a single nation, with a singular purpose. Its military strength is approximately 13,200 Protectors strong, and its navy approximately 10,700 strong, with around 4000 Protectors in training. The Knights of Ekimu are 5000 strong in total with an additional 500 training. In some ways they are the strongest and most dangerous nation, but in others, they are the weakest. Of all Okoto they are the least self-sufficient, but are also the nation that everyone else relies on the most. The past fifty years have not been kind to the Protectors of Jungle, but they have not allowed themselves to be deterred. The nation is named for the Titan Umarak, who reappeared in the jungle for the first time in centuries during the Battle for the Dawn, and worked directly alongside Makani Chloe Saryian against the Skull Army. Makani Chloe rules over the nation with an iron fist; once a chief warrior who fought for the good of Okoto above all else, rumors suggest that her ideals have become twisted; that she has become a Knight Templar, who believes that she can do no wrong… and that others can do no right, and must be stopped no matter the cost. Karamu’s primary contributions to trade with the rest of Okoto are their food and wood exports; while they are forced to rely on the rest of Okoto for almost everything else, the rest of Okoto is in turn forced to rely on them. Thanks to extensive research and studying of the Temple of Time, Karamu is rapidly becoming one of the most technologically advanced nations, although these advances have not yet proven to have any military applications. The nation’s words were chosen during the War of Five Kings, soon after they freed themselves from the control of Aodhiim, who had conquered them years earlier. They are a constant reminder of what the Jungle Protectors have suffered through, and the victory they achieved in winning back their freedom. Its military strength is approximately 9000 Protectors strong, and its navy approximately 2000 strong, with an additional 4000 in training. Unlike the other nations, however, Aodhiim can rely entirely on their own production of materials and food - for them, trade with the other nations is a luxury rather than a necessity. They are a very prideful and militaristic nation, and follow strength above all else. The nation is named after House Aodh, who have ruled over the region virtually unchallenged for over four hundred years. The Aodh family is known for their extreme dedication to their family, as well as their political and military skills, and are regarded as a permanent pillar of strength within the nation. Only one family has ever come close to toppling them; House Darkfire, during the Darkfire Rebellion over one hundred years ago. The rebellion ended with House Darkfire wiped out, and the secrets to the production of darkfire lost until the War of Five Kings. While Aodhiim is able to produce enough food and materials to sustain themselves, they are also the only source for certain materials in all of Okoto, forcing other nations to trade with them - mainly for coal, though Aodhiim’s forgers are also among the finest across the island. Since the War of Five Kings Aodhiim is also the sole producer of darkfire, a volatile purple liquid that is extremely flammable and burns for a long time, though Aodhiim has refused all offers to trade it to other nations, and its recipe is a close-guarded secret of Aodhiim’s Pyromancers. Aodhiim is ruled by its Imperator from its capital, Silodas, in the far south of the nation. Unlike the rest of Okoto, Aodhiim remains in the grip of a single ruling family, though as long as House Aodh continues to remain a bastion of strength, the nation will be content to follow them. The nation’s words are also shared with House Aodh, a symbol of their political and military strength. Its military strength is approximately 22, 500 Protectors strong, and its navy approximately 8500 strong, with an additional 12, 000 in training. It should be noted, however, that unlike the other nations, Aodhiim does not distinguish its city guards from its armed forces; they are one and the same. Known as the Ancient City before the War of Five Kins, it has since been claimed and built into a towering fortress of a city by the Earth Protectors. Located in the exact center of Okoto, it serves as the primary trade center for the entire island. The entirety of its population is made up of Luroka Qendroj’s Earthen Knights and their closest allies from the Earth Region - the few Earth Protectors who did not belong to the Faith of the Skulls. Now under the guidance of Toa Onua, they maintain a strictly neutral stance regarding their political relationship with the surrounding nations, although their militaristic nature has allowed them to forge closer ties to Aodhiim. All travellers within Qendroj City must put down their arms. Any Protectors not of Earth will wield weapons within the city at their own peril. Available Last Names Great Houses: Qendroj Other Houses: Ikhav Players 1-LUROKA as Luroka Qendroj NPCs 1-Toa Onua 2-Garan Qendroj - Knights of Ekimu “All as One” The Knights of Ekimu were an order established by the Mask Maker Ekimu 300 years ago to combat the forces of evil. Now, with the Mask Makers having vanished from Okoto, they follow the rule of their Lord Commander, a Protector elected to the position out of respect for their accomplishments. They are responsible for defending Okoto from threats that would see the island destroyed, as well as recording and maintaining the island’s lore and histories. The various Loremasters of each region are loyal to the Knights above their nations, but otherwise, the Knights themselves now typically remain somewhat separated from Okoto, in order to avoid being sucked into political conflicts as they have been in the past. In recent months, there has been a burst of activity from the Knights. Rumor has it that the Mask Maker returned to Okoto briefly following the Magical Crisis, and made it possible for the Loremasters to translate texts older even than him - and that the prophecies contained within imply that Okoto’s darkest hour is yet to come. Their members are commonly believed to be completely insane by the rest of Okoto, a belief that may not be too far off the mark - for the Brotherhood resides in the Barren, which has become so corrupted with Dark Energy that Skull Warriors, Skull Scorpios, Undead, and other creatures born of destruction still roam the territory. 5. INTRODUCTION: I had never believed in Toa. It may seem like a strange thing for an okotan to say, but always thought it was another story, a bunch of mumbo jumbo based off of the ramblings of an elder who had eaten too much gullok fruit. That all changed, one fateful day. Seeing that you sat through the first paragraph, I should probably share the Legend of The Toa. My Dad, the protector of Le-Koto, has told it a bajillion times around the public campfire, to all the okotans in our village. Long ago, there were these two brothers, named Ekimu and Makuta. They made masks for our people, and we all prospered. We made a huge city on our island home, called the capital. But Makuta was jealous of his brother's talent. He started fusing masks of different elements, like fire and water, earth and ice, stone and jungle (I bet you can see from here how that turned out). But he wanted more. Makuta made a mask breaking all of the ancient laws, a mask of all elements, a mask of "Ultimate Powah" as he called it. He took it to the capital, hoping to get at least some followers on his facebook page. Ekimu, hoping to correct his brothers wrong-doing and terrible English, followed him. But by the time he arrived at his brother's demonstration, it was to late. Makuta had put on his great mask, and Ekimu had no choice but to duel him. Ekimu won, but the capital and Makuta were banished to another dimension, a shadow dimension. As for Ekimu, he was placed into a deep sleep forever, that is, until the Toa came. Makuta eventually extended his influence beyond the shadow realm. He created an army of skull spiders and undead skeletons, and they terrorized the okotans. Only six heroes could defend the island. And as an answer to our hopes and prayers, they came. No one knows where they came from. But as soon as they found the great masks, hidden around the island, they kicked some serious Makuta tushy, and awoke Ekimu. Makuta realized he needed more. He created a being much more powerful than any Toa, a merciless hunter named Umarak. The Toa found new allies in the elemental creatures, but they did not prevent Umarak from winning back the mask of control, Makuta's first mask. Okay now, deep breath. Makuta mutated Umarak into a monster. While his thugs attacked the city of the mask makers, between Le and Ga Koto, Umarak found Makuta's first mask, and returned it to Makuta. Makuta had been changed into a giant, and now he had an army, so it would be impossible to stop him once he got out of the shadow realm, via the dark portal. But the Toa used all their elemental energy united to stop him, even at the cost of their lives. What happened next? The elders are convinced they ascended to the stars above the island, but I'm not sure. It's just another mystery of life we will never uncover. The creatures? They left without a trace a month after the Toa disappeared. The masks the Toa discarded when they found the golden masks are gone too. No one knows where they went. Anyway, my story starts one hundred years after the disappearance of the Toa and their creatures. I'm Trilek, heir to the Le-Koto Protector seat in the council of elders, all around cool kid, etc. I'm only thirteen years old, but my dad still lets me ride razor raptors occasionally. I have an eight year old little brother named Kevaku. He's okay, as far as little brothers go. I never knew my mom, but dad says she was the most beautiful Okotan ever. I miss her, and wherever she is, I hope she's fine. I don't know how I can feel love for someone I've never met, but she's my Mom. Anyway, get ready for a legend that goes beyond what we have known, in fact, beyond Okoto itself.
  6. The Squigglebird is an inhabitant of Okoto and stays in a zoo that is a front for an arm's selling business. He features a closing and opening hand on his tail and really flexible, pupet like legs. He also has wings to fly! To see more pictures and videos see https://youtu.be/MLGvgp5bTAE
  7. So this morning I woke up with a flurry of inspiration. I apologize for sending this in so late, but as fate would have it I have finally been able to make something more. I hope it is received well. (image is very big) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/AidanBionicle1/Sketches/img_0630.png
  8. Ekimu shielded his eyes from a blinding flash of white light. When the light cleared, Ekimu was given only a brief final glimpse of the six Toa before their physical forms dissipated before his him. His eyes widened as they transformed into six beams of elemental energy. The spirits of the Toa rapidly ascended into the heavens above. After soaring through Okoto’s atmosphere, the spirits of the six Toa settled into six stars in the sky above.Ekimu felt a strange mix of emotions following the sacrifice of his allies, the Toa. He felt relieved that his brother, Makuta, had been defeated at last. The Toa Seal that had been created would ensure that Makuta would be trapped in the Shadow Realm forever. When Ekimu had donned the Mask of Time a millennia before, he had seen what could transpire. He had told the Toa what they had needed to do based on what the Mask of Time had revealed to him. And yet, he knew in his heart that destiny was not written in stone, it determined by individuals. The Toa had chosen to give their lives to defeat Makuta, but only because Ekimu had told them what his own Prophecy said. The Mask Maker had a heavy feeling in his chest. He suddenly felt a chill despite the desert heat of the Region of Stone, the region where the Black Crater was located. Deep down, Ekimu came to the realization that he was directly responsible for losing not only his brother but also his friends, the Toa. Even before the Great Cataclysm, Ekimu had come to suspect the envy his brother had for him. But instead of trying to help his brother with these feelings, Ekimu shut Makuta out, allowing his brother’s anger to further develop. Despite their differences, Ekimu loved Makuta, and Ekimu now realized that had he only extended his brotherly love when Makuta needed it the most, perhaps none of this would have happened. Makuta would have never forged the Mask of Ultimate Power, and the Great Cataclysm would never have happened. The hundreds of Okotans who were trapped in the Shadow Realm during the cataclysm, who were now trapped there for all eternity thanks to the Toa Seal, would have been able to live the rest of their lives to the fullest with their friends and families. There would have been no reason for the Toa to have been pulled from their own universe to that of Okoto and ultimately give their lives for a land that wasn’t even theirs. If Ekimu had only tried to help Makuta, many lives would not have been ruined.Ekimu was exhausted and weak after reverting back to his original form. He needed to find shelter for the night so that he could rest and process his ordeal. The Mask Maker climbed out of the crater and began to make his way across the desert of the Region of Stone. The desert was bare and empty, and seemingly stretched on forever. As he crossed the region, Ekimu saw heard the howling of some wolves in the distance. The wolves were native to the Region of Stone, and Ekimu remembered Pohatu mentioning his fondness for the creatures. Perhaps, Ekimu thought, the wolves were howling at the star where Pohatu’s spirit was now located. Perhaps this was their way of mourning the death of the Toa of Stone’s. Ekimu just needed to make it to the next village, where he knew he could find someone that would allow him to spend the night. Eventually, Ekimu noticed a campfire in the distance. He began to approach the light, and was noticed by Nilkuu, the current Protector of Stone.“Master Ekimu!” Nilkuu called. “I could see the flash of light from my village! What happened? Has Umarak been defeated? Where are the Toa?”“It’s a long story,” Ekimu said with a sigh. “If you’ll kindly allow me into your home, I shall tell it to you.”––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––“So…you mean to say Pohatu and the others are dead?” Nilkuu nervously asked after Ekimu had finished his account of the night’s events.“They have sacrificed their bodies and their spirits were sent to the stars. For all intents and purposes, I’m afraid they are,” Ekimu replied solemnly. “But it could have all been avoided had I only tried to reason with Makuta.”“But the Toa had a duty to Okoto- you said it was their destiny to give their lives to save us!” The Protector of Stone said.“But you forget, the Toa were not born on Okoto. We pulled them here, from their own time and universe, and we were the ones to give them that duty. Perhaps the Toa had friends of their own in their world: friends who wonder what has become of them and will never learn of their whereabouts.”“You talk in theoretics, Ekimu. What if you had been able to help Makuta a millennia ago? What if you had found some alternative to the sacrifice of the Toa? If Makuta had never started any of this, it is impossible to predict what our world would be like right now. There were plenty of other evil forces at work. Perhaps Kulta or Umarak the Hunter could have been the one to try to conquer Okoto the same way Makuta did. With all the evil in our world, it was only a matter of time before things went bad. We do not have time to dwell on such things. Even now, the Elemental Creatures are hunting down the last of the Shadow Horde and Skull Spiders. Once the last traces of the Shadow have been destroyed, we will need to build a future, and need you to lead us into that future. In fact, it is your duty to lead us. Stop looking into the past and instead into the future!”“The future…” Ekimu pondered. “I only knew what was to be described in the Prophecy of Heroes by looking into the Mask of Time. Perhaps if I look again answers with be revealed,”“Go to the Temple of Time and see what the Mask reveals to you. But if I may make a suggestion, perhaps it is best you first inform Okoto what has happened to the Toa.”“You are right,” Ekimu said. “The Okotans must know of the Toa’s heroics and Makuta’s defeat. Tomorrow, contact the other Protectors. Tell them to inform their tribes that they should gather at the City of the Mask Makers for a memorial service. After we commemorate the Toa properly, I’ll journey to the Region of Jungle to visit the Temple of Time. ”––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––For the first time in a over millennia, Okoto was to celebrate the Festival of Masks. In the time before Makuta’s betrayal, the festival celebrated the ancient Protectors and the masks worn by all Okotoans. Instead of commemorating the Protectors, this Festival honored the Toa and displayed their Elemental Masks that they were wearing when they first arrived. These Masks had been discarded once the Golden Masks of Power were claimed by their respective wearers. Following Ekimu’s awakening, the original Elemental Masks had been left in Ekimu’s care. Ekimu had never seen the Toa wearing these Masks, and had never taken a good look at them before. But as Ekimu gathered the Mask to be put on display, he noticed something very strange about them. It was common knowledge that all Masks on Okoto were powered by the Elemental Crystals. And yet, these masks did not contain elemental crystals at all, and were powered by some other means. Whatever these Masks were made of, they were nothing like the ones made by Ekimu. From his many centuries of experience with Mask-making, Ekimu had grown used to the feeling of elemental energy radiating from masks. But these Toa masks felt different. It was almost as if there was more than just elemental power coming from the Masks. Perhaps, Ekimu speculated, that the Masks the Toa had arrived in had other abilities they had only forgotten to use. Each Mask was displayed on a pedestal in the center of the ancient city. Thousands of Okotans gathered around the Masks, staring at them in awe. Since the Toa had only been on Okoto for a few short weeks, many of the Okotans had never seen the Toa and relied only upon the stories and rumors surrounding their activities. Seeing these foreign masks once worn by the Toa seemed to validate their existence to the gathered masses.Ekimu noticed the six Elemental Creatures watching the celebration. The Creatures had defeated the rest of the Shadow Horde, and had been hunting down the last of the Skull Spiders. With the death of Umarak, the Creatures no longer had to hide, and could live among the Okotans in peace. However, with the destruction of the Golden Masks of Unity in the sacrifice of the Toa, it would be impossible to communicate with the creatures. Ekimu stood before the gathered islanders to speak.“Gathered friends,” Ekimu began. “I have news for you all. The evil Makuta has been defeated at last! The remnants of his forces have been hunted down and destroyed by the Elemental Creatures and the Protectors. But our ultimate victory came with a great cost. Our beloved Toa gave their lives to defeat Makuta once and for all. I have called this special Festival of Masks in their memory. May all Okoto forever remember their heroism.”The Okotans were silent, digesting this news. They were surprised by how abruptly the battle against Makuta had ended, and that the Toa they had heard talk of were gone forever.“The Toa have brought peace to Okoto. But perhaps more importantly, they have inspired us to maintain that peace. During the final confrontation with the Shadow Horde, many Okotans rose to the challenge of joining the Elemental Creatures in battle and helped to defeat them. Should evil rise again in the future, I have faith that the people of Okoto will follow the example of the Toa and rise to that challenge. But now is not that time; now is the time for peace. Please, enjoy the festival and remember the Toa!”There was a polite but rather unenthusiastic round of applause. The Okotans were understandably distressed and conflicted over the whole ordeal. However, for the first time in a millennia, they were hopeful for the future. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––The next day, Ekimu flew his newly-rebuilt airship. Since his awakening, Ekimu had not had much time to re-explore Okoto’s regions. After the Okotans had fled the City of the Mask Makers following the Cataclysm, many villages had been arisen in the individual Regions. Many of them had been burned to the ground by Umarak the Destroyer. The Region of Jungle was quite desolate at this point, with many of its villages destroyed. The Temples that housed Uxar, the Creature of Jungle, and the one housing the Golden Mask of Jungle had now been abandoned. But Ekimu did not have time to focus on that now; his attention was instead towards his destination: the Temple of Time.Ekimu entered the Temple and removed the Mask of Time from its vault. It had once given him the answers he needed, and perhaps in his confusion it would do so again. The Mask Maker hesitated for a moment before donning it. Even if the Mask of Time revealed the answers he sought, perhaps he would not like them. But Ekimu knew he had to try and obtain closure for his whole ordeal, and pressed onward, taking his own Mask of Creation off and replacing it with the Mask of Time.––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––Almost instantaneously, an image began to form before Ekimu’s eyes. It was soon recognizable as a workshop, not unlike Ekimu’s own. However, this was not a place Ekimu was familiar with. Six lifeless figures were strewn across six individual tables. As Ekimu stared intently at the figures he felt a sense of familiarity towards the figures. Suddenly, it hit him: these were the six Toa! All six were far smaller in stature and wore more simplistic armor than when they had arrived on Okoto, but were still recognizable as Tahu, Gali, Onua, Lewa, Kopaka, and Pohatu.Ekimu reasoned he must be witnessing the birth of the Toa, and that this was the universe from which they were originally from. But because this was the place the Toa were constructed, their creator was presumably not far away. Ekimu looked around the workshop and saw another figure, one that made him gasp in awe. The figure was massive, at about ten feet tall. His armor was gray-green and carried a massive hammer. But the most surprising thing about the figure was his mask- he was wearing the Mask of Creation, identical to the Mask Ekimu now owned. Ekimu did not know what to make of this, he had never known where his Mask came from but he never would have imagined it was from another universe entirely. Back when Ekimu had originally learned of the existence of the Toa through the Mask of Time a millennia ago, the Mask had also revealed their names to him. Similarly, Ekimu could now sense the figure’s name: Artakha. Before Ekimu could process this any further, the vision shifted to more rapid flashes. He saw elemental heroes similar to the Toa he knew, however these were not the same beings. He was able to sense that these six collectively had a specific name: Metru. These “Toa Metru” had gathered six disks, each with a color corresponding to one of the six elements. The Toa Metru of Fire, who Ekimu could sense was named “Vakama,” began to craft what Ekimu knew was the mysterious lower half of the Mask of Time. This part of the vision was actually somewhat familiar to Ekimu during a previous experience wearing the Mask of Time, he had witnessed this lower half being forged. This is why he had known about the existence of the lower half and the mask’s name: “Vahi.” He then saw Toa Vakama using the Vahi to fight a massive, shadowy figure. Ekimu was startled by the larger figure’s resemblance to his brother, Makuta. He was even more startled by the name of the figure as revealed to him by the Mask: “Makuta Teridax.” Ekimu could tell his was not the same entity as his brother. However, he still sensed a connection between the two.Suddenly, the scene changed again. Ekimu was back in Artakha’s workshop. Artakha was hard at work crafting a Mask, and muttering to himself as he did so. “How could I have been so foolish…it’s my Great Disks! They’re the key to making the Mask of Time. Vakama only managed to create a Mask that allowed control over time, but there’s so much more potential to be found…”Artakha raised up his creation: it was the upper half of the Vahi, the Mask Ekimu now wore. “This Mask will allow me to see into the past and future…and if my theory is correct, it can be combined with the Vahi Toa Vakama crafted. The combination of the two will allow for complete control over time, even travel through space and time itself!”Ekimu realized that this must have been how the Toa traveled between universes. The Upper Half of the Vahi was on Okoto, and the Lower in the universe of the Toa. The two fragments had created a bridge between universes that allowed the Toa to travel between them.In Ekimu’s next vision, he saw Tahu, still in his original form, put on the lower half of the Mask of Time. Before him were six monstrous creatures, each holding a square object with a distinctive symbol inscribed into them. Ekimu immediately recognized them as the symbols of the Toa, which had been previously revealed to him by the Mask of Time and had since gone down in Okotan legend as such. In fact, Ekimu when built new armor for the Toa he had inscribed these symbols into their chestpieces. Tahu used the Vahi to slow down the six creatures, but the Toa of Fire struggled to control its power. His hold over the power of Time were clearly very unstable.Back in Artakha’s workshop, the instability of the Vahi’s lower half was affecting its upper half. Artakha watched in horror as the upper half of the Vahi began to tremble, and energy began to radiate from it. Suddenly, a vortex of golden energy appeared, sucking the upper half of the Mask of Time away.Instead of an individual location, Ekimu then saw the entire solar system of the Toa, consisting of three planets. Energy enveloped the entire solar system, a blast of the Mask of Time’s golden light blinded Ekimu. When his vision cleared, he saw the result: two different timelines. The universe of the Toa remained unchanged, but he saw a second one he found very familiar. It was his own. Ekimu realized he had just witnessed the creation of his own universe. The connection between Ekimu’s universe and that of the Toa was clear to Ekimu now- he lived in a universe directly parallel to that of that of the Toa. The three planets in Ekimu’s universe were alternate versions of the three world’s of the universe of the Toa, with the world where Okoto was located an alternate version of the world of the Toa. Ekimu had once described the Mask of Time’s upper half as “older than the world and the stars.” Without any shadow of a doubt, he now knew that to be true. The upper half of the Mask of Time drifted through this recently created universe. Eventually, it punctured the atmosphere of Ekimu’s world and crash-landed in what would eventually be known as Okoto’s Region of Jungle. Immediately after Okoto came into existence, elemental energy erupted from the ground of each of Okoto’s elemental regions. Okoto’s elemental Creatures formed from these beams of energy to serve as guardians of the Island. Ikir was formed from the Region of Fire, Akida from the Region of Water, Terak from Earth, Ketar from Stone, Uxar from Jungle, and Melum from Ice. In the center of the Island, two other beings were formed. A magnificent hawk was formed from Okoto’s light. Ekimu recognized this hawk as Agil, the Creature of Light. The other being was sentient, unlike the other Creatures, but still bore similar animalistic features. This was Umarak, the Shadow Hunter. Scattered across the island, Ekimu saw the the very first Okotans. Ekimu reasoned that these were original Okotans were alternate versions of the original universe’s inhabitants. What Ekimu saw next was perhaps the most jarring to him. He saw himself, as well as his brother, Makuta, waking up for the first time. This had been Ekimu’s earliest memory, and now he was seeing it from a new perspective. Even back many millennia ago, Ekimu and Makuta had come into existence wearing their respective Masks of Creation and Control. Perhaps, Ekimu speculated, he was this universe’s alternative form to Artakha, with his brother the alternate form of the original universe’s “Makuta Teridax.”The following events were of no surprise to Ekimu: he had lived them. Ekimu and Makuta crafted the first elemental Masks for the first Protectors. He saw flashes of the settling of Okoto’s Regions, construction of the Island’s Temple’s, attacks by the Skull Raiders…everything up to and including Makuta’s betrayal. Finally, he saw the rise of the Skull Spiders and the gathering of the Protectors in the Temple of Time to summon the Toa.The vision changed drastically once more; Ekimu saw the universe of the Toa once more. The three worlds that made up their solar system collided and became one. Ekimu’s final vision took place on this reformed world. He saw the six Toa as well as Artakha, and another figure that seemed to be an older, weaker form of Vakama.“Brave Toa,” Vakama exclaimed. “I thank you for recovering my Kanohi Vahi from Voporak. However, Artakha has a bit of distressing news regarding the Mask of Time,”“Our pleasure, Turaga,” Onua responded.“Artakha, what is it?” Gali inquired.“A millennia ago, Vakama forged the Kanohi Vahi that he holds right now from the Great Disks. That mask allows the user to slow down or speed up time. However, it was only part of the Mask’s full potential. I created another Mask of Time that would allow for Clairvoyance. Theoretically, the two Masks of Time could be combined into a complete Vahi, that would allow travel between time and space,” Artakha replied. “That’s remarkable,” said Lewa. “Where is this upper half?”“That’s the issue,” responded Vakama. “Back when Vakama used the Vahi to slow down the Bohrok-Kal, time in our universe was briefly very unstable. This instability caused the Mask of Time’s upper half to be sucked out of our universe,”“It is my belief that when the Vahi’s upper half was lost, an entirely separate timeline was created, which runs parallel to ours. My telepathic abilities have given me glimpses into this alternate timeline and it is very similar to our own. The Matoran of this alternate universe live on an island called Okoto. They are currently besieged by their own version of none other than Makuta Teridax,” Artakha continued.“I did this?” Tahu asked in shock. “Because of me, an entire universe came into existence and the Makuta continues to exist?”“I’m afraid so,” Vakama responded somberly.“The elders of this Okoto are in desperate need of assistance against Makuta’s forces. In their culture, it is you six that they foresee will help them. They have activated their half of the Mask of Time, in hopes that you six will come and save them,” Artakha explained.“By the Great Beings,” Pohatu exclaimed. “What are we to do?”“I do not know what to tell you, Toa," Vakama replied. “You have brought peace and freedom to Spherus Magna, and I cannot ask anything further of you. If you desire to go to this 'Okoto' then I can activate our half and send you there. Even if I do, there’s no guarantee you’ll arrive unscathed. The choice is yours to make.” “I’ll go,” Tahu said firmly. “It’s my fault Okoto came into existence and that there’s another Makuta out there. I have a responsibility to put this right, a duty to this island. I don’t expect any of you to come with me.”“Don’t be a fool, brother,” Kopaka quickly interjected. “If there’s anything we’ve learned, it’s that our strength comes from our unity. Perhaps Okoto is your responsibility, but if saving it is your destiny, it’s mine as well.”“As is mine,” continued Onua.“Mine too,” said Pohatu.“Count me in,” said Lewa.“We’re all with you, brother,” concluded Gali.“Very well then,” said Vakama somewhat somberly. “I’ll use the Vahi’s power to complete the connection to send you there.”“The adaptive armor I built for you should conform to Okoto’s environment. Assuming you should make it there, you will gain new forms that will allow you to live among the Okotans,” Artakha explained. “But even then, Okoto is filled with monstrous creatures. It will be extremely dangerous. There’s no guarantee you’ll come back.”“Are you sure you want to go through with this?” Vakama asked.“Absolutely,” Tahu responded. “It’s about time for a new adventure.”“Then I wish you luck,” Vakama said. “May the Great Spirit watch over you.” Vakama removed his own Mask and placed the Vahi over his face. The Mask began to tingle, and as the connection to Okoto was created a vortex opened. Vakama and Artakha watched as the six Toa stepped into the vortex, leaving their world forever.––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––That was enough for Ekimu. He removed the Mask of Time from his face and replaced it with the Mask of Creation. The Mask had given Ekimu more answers than he had expected, but he did not want to see any more. Perhaps he could gotten clarity over what really happened to the spirits of the Toa following the final battle with Makuta, but not knowing that was for the best. The Toa had changed Okoto, and their spirits would forever be kept alive by its people.Ekimu stared at the setting sun from the Temple of Time. This was a strange sort of sunset, the end of a very long story. The Mask Maker had feared he had “stolen” the lives of the Toa, but now he knew that the Toa had freely chosen to come to Okoto. Guided by unity, their duty was to come to Okoto and meet their ultimate destiny. That destiny had not been written in stone, but was a responsibility that was found and chosen by them, not Ekimu. Perhaps that was what it meant to be a hero. Whether or not the Toa lived among them, their legacy would survive forever and inspire all Okotans to be heroes, even Ekimu. It was time for the heroes of tomorrow to go and and make new legends. For that is the way of the BIONICLE. Never…The End.
  9. In the time before time, long before the fall of the Mask Makers and the coming of the Toa, the mythical island of Okoto was beset by a foe the island would rue for millennia. Fate – or destiny – would have it that the events of a distant past would shape an uncertain future. Like so many other great legends, this one begins on a beach. - Of Druids and Shadow Poaruu was spending his afternoon with the one task he found no enjoyment in – fishing. As a cook, it was a necessary part of his duty to the village, but one he despised nonetheless. “How could anyone find this to be relaxing?” – He thought. He’s hardly collected enough fish for the evening’s feast, which was to mark the Rite of Initiation for the new elder. Nothing as fancy as the Rite of Empowerment of a new Protector for the whole region, but a marked day still. Poaruu was snapped out of his worries about running out of time by a sight he hasn’t seen in months. A gargantuan body burst from the water, far out at sea. He recognized it instantly: Akida, primal aspect of Water. She often swam around the whole island, popping up off the shores of each region. However today, instead of a majestic flip, the body of the great whale slapped back into the water unnaturally. Then he heard it – cries of agony. Wading into the water as far as he dared, he noted something strange about the creature, but couldn’t pin it down. The waves were carrying her ashore. His mind raced. “We need the Druid!” – He thought and turned to run into the village. By the time he got back, the aspect was already washed up. Now, he could see what seemed so peculiar from afar, and up close, it was terrifying. Jagged weapons, the likes of which he has never seen, jutted from the body of the mighty beast. The rustle of leaves – there were no trees in the region of Stone – indicated help has arrived. For a moment, seemingly out of nowhere, a handful of plants sprouted nearby and a tall figure arose. He towered far above Poaruu, clad in brown robes. Strong legs carried the barked body licked with a touch of green here and there. But the most notable feature of the newcomer were his antlers, glorious and intimidating. “Druid Umarak, you are here!” – He called out. The druid rushed to Akida, and began stroking her face. “Quickly, remove those foul things!” – He commanded Poaruu, pointing at the foreign weapons. Akida was heaving, but other noises escaped her mouth as well. After Poaruu, with much difficulty, took out the pair of what now turned out to be spears, Umarak moved to the wounds and held out his hands. His palms began to glow green, and the wounds began to seal right before Poaruu’s eyes. Soon, Akida was breathing easier. “Who could have done this?” – The cook asked, but the druid hushed him. Seemingly Umarak was listening to Akida. “Of course, the Druid is the only one who understands the great Aspects”. Finally, Umarak turned to Poaruu with much concern in his eyes. “I must meet the protectors at once.” – He said. “What is wrong?” – The cook asked. Umarak’s response filled him with a new kind of fear – the fear of the uncertain. “Those who did this came from beyond the sea.” Soon, the Druid had gathered the protectors and brought them to Poaruu’s village. With the help of his magics, Umarak could bring the leaders of Okotoan society with him across great distances with great haste, and all were assembled by eve. “Are you sure of what the aspect said to you?” – Taito, surprisingly hot-headed for one hailing from the region of Ice, demanded of him at the onset of the council. “You are not one to question my words, nor that of the Aspect.” – His response was stern. “I have healed her wounds by then, pain could not have compelled her.” The protectors were uneasy, faced with an issue no literature nor legend has prepared them for. “How is this even possible? How could something come from beyond the sea?” – The protector of Fire pleaded. “Never have we sailed beyond eyesight of Okoto. It may be so that other islands exist as well.” – The protector of Water added. “Druid, what did Akida tell you of these attackers?” – Ihan, protector of the Jungle turned to Umarak. “Only things that could trouble us further. They sail upon ships of metal, rougher and harder than with what the Mask Makers work. They are as tall as I. Beyond this, she merely repeated a single word I do not recognize: Kulta.” – He said. “Kulta? A name perhaps?” – Ihan asked back. “If so, it will go down in history as a hated one. The meeting was interrupted by the sound of a guard’s horn, after which a winded villager burst into the hut. “Protectors! Druid! Ships are approaching, hundreds! They are not of any region we know!” – He spat between gasps. Poaruu was so preoccupied with the events earlier that day that he could barely focus on his cooking. Umarak’s words haunted him, and he couldn’t but shake the curiosity as to what went on behind the closed doors of the emergency council. “I should be in there. I saw her!” – He thought, annoyed. Commotion outside tore him from his thoughts. As he stepped outside, he was almost knocked over by a trio of guards rushing towards the shore. “It can’t be Skull Spiders, the annual culling was not a fortnight ago… and they’re running to the shore!” – He started after them. Nearing the beach, he opted to scale one of the village walls for a better vantage point, and the vista that played out before him was unlike anything he ever saw. Countless ships were moments away from making landfall, and all the guards were lined up on the beach. The Druid and the Protectors were among them. Soon, the first ship – large, sporting black sails and an oversized ram on its stem. Off the railings jumped a large, albeit spindly figure. Its hardened leathery skin was covered by rough armor, its face obscured by a mask most frightening, crowned with two horns jutting forward. He walked towards the assembled guards, followed by many similar beings – among them devilish creatures led on chains, not unlike the scorpions of Poaruu’s home region. Umarak started ahead to meet the leader of the invaders head on. “Who are you to encroach upon our peaceful lands, to hurt one of our revered aspects?” – He shouted. The being walked uncomfortably close to the Druid, staring him in the eye. “Kulta.” – He said, as if to mock Umarak. “And what is it you are here for?” – The druid did not flinch. “Conquest.” Next, everything happened too fast. Before Poaruu knew what happened, the horde of invaders charged the guards. Umarak grappled with Kulta before disappearing in a puff of leaves and spiriting away the gathered protectors as well. The attackers tore through the guards within moments, and smoke had already filled the night sky. He rushed to street level, around him screams and shouting. He tried running in the opposite direction, but the invaders were already spread out in the village. The stench of death had begun to spread, and turning a corner Poaruu was met with a sight so gruesome as to prompt him to turn around. Against his better judgement, instinct drove him to the shore where he found Akida not half a day ago. Only the imprint of the glorious being was left in the sand. He waded into the waves once more, not knowing what to do, when a head popped up above the surface nearby. It was smaller – about half the size of what it was before – but could not be mistaken: Akida was here. She emitted a series of chirping sounds and sped towards Poaruu. Passing him and turning back, she swam up right next to him and offered a flipper. He understood. Grabbing it, he glanced back at his village one last time, and she began to swim. --- “I, Umarak, Druid of Okoto, am about to do something I swore to forever avoid. Five years ago, the warlord Kulta and his horde of Titans invaded the region of Stone. Since then, they have managed to poison our revered Aspects, causing them to weaken to a state my powers cannot heal. Alone, they are no longer powerful. In my possession is an ancient Mask of Power that I had hoped to keep locked away for eternity, but it seems that in our darkest hour, sin is our only salvation.”– The Final Testament of the Druid Poaruu was keeping watch on the battlements of the City of the Mask Makers. The city was the last bastion of Okotoan resistance save for a few small pockets scattered in the remote regions of the island. He had managed to survive five years of bloodshed. It was five years ago that he cooked his last true meal, and ever since, he was forced to fight. All of the protectors have perished with no clear line of succession. The only battles which do not end in defeat are those where the Druid is present, however the Titans attack on many fronts. Umarak has organised the few survivors into a half-decent army, but they are far outmatched and outnumbered by the trained murderers they face. Even after all this time, they learned very little of them – they know now that their world, a globe, is home to several islands. Kulta and his horde have been traveling from island to island, fighting the locals each time. His people have fashioned armor from the bones of their victims as a fear tactic, even using the corpses of Skull Spiders as masks. Umarak had recently returned to the City, warning the defenders that Kulta was preparing for a final assault to complete his “glorious victory”. “There has been enough killing.” – He said. “I will permit this no longer.” The defenders were on edge ever since, not understanding. “If he could put an end to this, why hasn’t he before?” – Many asked. Ever since, he had cradled an odd object, obscured by cloth. Poaruu sensed a slight shake. It began to grow stronger and rhythmic. “They’re here.” – He thought with dread. From between the ridges of the mountains high flowed, like a sick river, the horde. Their marching shook the earth, chanting smuggled fear into hearts thought to be steeled. They were near the walls when Umarak opened the Gate of the Anvil and strode out alone. “If you come to offer surrender, you waste your breath, Druid.” – Kulta spat the last word mockingly. “We come only for death.” – He finished. “If it is death that you invoke, death is what you shall receive!” – Umarak shouted. He removed the cloth and held high in the air a Mask of Power, much unlike the Mask of Healing he wore now. It was uniform black, seemingly swallowing all light, and yet jagged with sinister features. “The Mask of Death. The forbidden mask.” – He thought. “I wish I needn’t bear this burden.” – He removed his own and replaced it with the black mask. He immediately felt weak and nauseated, his muscles gave way and he collapsed. Kulta began to laugh a terrifying laugh, and his soldiers joined in. But soon the cackle had gone on too long, and the other Titans fell silent in confusion. Kulta continued his hysterical cacophony, then staggered. His laugh faltered, and almost immediately was replaced by a shrill scream. Before the eyes of Poaruu and the other defenders, their most hated enemy fell to his knees as his flesh burned away seemingly on its own. Soon, the confused Titans followed suit, their screams tearing up the sky itself as they were seared away where they stood. Nought but their bones remained moments later, collapsed in distorted positions. Umarak didn’t rise for many minutes. His body was smoking slightly, and his armor hissed as rain began to fall upon it. He rose to a seated position and remained like that even longer. When he opened his eyes, he was startled even though he knew the price of using the mask. Red spike sprouted from his arms, the his bark-like skin charred to black, green flesh turned sickly. He looked down into the puddle that had accumulated before him – the mask had cracked from the strain of being used on so many opponents. Dark power leaked from its surface, clouding the vision of the Druid – former Druid. “Even if the vows are broken and the mask used, it may only happen once. After death is unleashed, there remains only… shadow.” – He recited the teachings. Soon, the behavioral changes will manifest, then he will be drawn to the dark corners of the world. The gates of the city were opened, and the defenders slowly walked out. Among them was the elder they had all sworn to protect – the old Mask Maker. Umarak approached the procession in spite of the now fearful looks he received. “What have you done, Druid?” – The Mask Maker’s voice was also tainted by fear. “I know the weight of my actions and accept them. I will retreat into exile. The people of Okoto must persevere without a Druid.” – He said. “I am old, Umarak – what will we do come another crisis? The line of the Protectors has been broken, I am near the dusk of my life and even you leave us now?” – He pleaded. “Any who were strong enough to survive this war are worthy of the title of protector. As for your successor… look to the region of Ice. I discovered the heir of the Anvil long ago, he is safe. Ekimu is his name, you must search for him and bring him to the city.” – Umarak replied. “What of the aspects?” – The elder persisted. “They are diminished and in hiding until… until the coming of the six.” – The Druid hushed his voice. The Mask Maker had no more questions, so Umarak looked at the gathered Okotoans one last time, then left. Poaruu was among those who saw him disappear into the woods. “Where is he going?” – He asked aloud. “Into shadow…” – The Mask Maker replied solemnly. --- Strong claws gripped the trunk of the tree surely. An armored arm kept the body upright, half-hanging while the other shielded eyes from the hated glare of the sun. He dropped to the ground, and headed to the river. Passing by a tree with marks left by smaller claws, he walked down to the stream. The sand had been disturbed recently. Something drank here. “Ah, yes…” A nibbled fruit lay nearby. He strode over, picked it up and lifted it to his face. The hunter had caught a scent.

His appearance at first sight caused unrest among people of Okoto. His skeletal arm and green glow unwantingly reminded us of Kulta and his fellow skeletal friends. Though he assured us he has never heard of Kulta, his story to explain the arm didn't make us feel any better. Matoro is something that on his island call a 'spirit touched' able to see both the world of the living and the dead. He can talk to those who has long passed away, even able to step out of his body to traverse the spirit realm but such ability comes at a price. The more he uses it the more his body decays and in the end forever will he be part of the world of the dead.* Well, this one has been on hiatus for far too long, not to mention it was supposed to have ribs on the decaying side, but that didn't work out in the end, same with the chest, it was supposed to be with the hockey chest piece but that just didn't work out with the CCBS torso shell. All in all I'm very satisfied with the out come, the torso's build got pretty good in my opinion, so many small parts merged into one big component. This MOC is mostly made out of left overs from the Makuta combiner and the parts of the BZP raffle Jango Fett I won way back (along with another Hero Pack) among other things. 11. (Season 1 - Lore & Histories - A Clockwork Night) EPISODE 00: AND NOW IT BEGINS EPISODE 01: SECRETS AND SPIES EPISODE 02: THE ROADS MOST TRAVELED EPISODE 03: AS STRONG AS STONE EPISODE 04: CONTROL EPISODE 05: FAITH EPISODE 06: THE CALM EPISODE 07: A MAN OF HIS WORD EPISODE 08: DEAD NO MORE Ending Write-Up --- Welcome to Okoto, an island divided into six regions: Fire, Water, Ice, Stone, Earth, and the central Ancient City. Each region is populated by Protectors of their respective element (barring the Ancient City, which holds a population mixed with Protectors from every region). The regions are officially united under the banner of the Mask Maker, who rules over Okoto from the Ancient City. Ten years ago, in the year 317 AE (After Ekimu), the Regions of Fire, Water, and Ice united to overthrow a violent and treacherous Mask Maker, known as Voxumo the Usurper. After stealing the throne for himself in a rebellion twenty years before in 296 AE with help from Fire, Ice and Stone, Voxumo had reigned over the island through fear and intimidation. It was he who saw the Earth Region crushed and destroyed, nearly wiping it off of Okoto entirely. The true heir – a Protector of Water by the name of Pulse – had been forced to spend twenty years in hiding, as well as numerous surviving Protectors of Earth. After Voxumo had managed to fall out of favor with both the Ice Region and the Fire Region, Pulse began to make his move, slowly gathering allies within the Water Region. Forging an alliance with Fire and Ice, Pulse and his allies made their move. The Stone Region was decimated and the Jungle Region’s leadership assassinated, leaving Voxumo and his allies weakened enough for Pulse to seize the Ancient City and summon the mythical Temple of Time back to Okoto. In the battle that followed, a lone Protector of Water managed to assassinate the Usurper within his own camp, winning the battle – but not the war. This is where the events of Season 1 ended. Despite the new Mask Maker’s best attempts at forging peace, the Region of Jungle continued to fight against their rule tooth and nail for two more years, before the Fire Region Ruler (a Protector by the name of Burnmad) ordered the Jungle Region burned to the ground. Half of the Jungle Region was destroyed in the mighty blaze, and what was left was conquered and absorbed by the Fire Region - finally ending the War for the Throne in the year 319 AE. For the next four years, Okoto lived in a tentative peace, as the Fire Region settled into its new position of power and the rest remained wary that it would attempt the same thing again. Everything changed four years ago in 323 AE, however, when the Earth Region surged back. For twenty-six years they had lived under Okoto, hiding so deep underground that not even the Protectors of Earth they had left behind knew they still lived. Led by a great skull creature known as Kulta the Skull Grinder and protected by an army of Skull Warriors, the Protectors of Earth easily re-established their region, partnering with the Stone Region in the process to help rebuild. With the return of the Earth Region came the birth of a new religion, known as the Faith of the Skulls – those who worship the skull creatures such as Kulta and the Skull Warriors that have helped to protect and guide the Mask Makers for years beyond counting, and have now brought an entire region back from the dead. As quickly as the Faithful appeared, so too did an opposing force – an extremely secretive group calling themselves the Knights of Ekimu, seemingly based within the Ice Region. They claim that the Skull Creatures are not to be trusted, that they seek the destruction of Okoto; the evidence seems to suggest otherwise, however, and as the Faith continues to grow, the more they outnumber the so-called Knights. In the hopes of uniting Okoto rather than instigating further conflict, the Mask Maker at this time summoned the six Heroes of Prophecy to Okoto, though their presence has often led to worsening the situation. The Mask Maker’s inability to properly manage or deal with this conflict in a satisfactory manner has tainted his image in the eyes of many on the island, and there are some who begin to wonder if, perhaps, they even need a Mask Maker at all…. There is an air of discontent throughout Okoto. Alliances are frayed thin, and the hard-fought peace that has reigned for years is now collapsing in on itself. Welcome back to the game of thrones, where you win or you die… …and the prophets are starting to sing a song of shadow. HOW IT WORKS The game will last for ten “rounds”, known as “episodes”. Several key mechanics of the game are explained below – but I cannot stress enough that the game’s open nature truly does leave many things open to interpretation or manipulation (or even in some cases, being able to be outright ignored). If you have any questions about whether a move you want to make is legal or not, simply shoot me a private PM to ask. If a move is impossible to make, I will make sure to let you know. If you’re up to it, you can also read through Season 1. We’ll start off with each round lasting roughly five days, and see how that goes. MOVES Every player will make their moves for each round via PM, of which there are two kinds – OFFICIAL and BACKDOOR. An Official PM is any PM that involves me, the host; moves made in Official PMs are the only ones that will be included in the scenes for each episode, which means that they are the only moves that will actually occur. If you want to kill another player, or bar them access to your region, that would have to take place in an Official PM. The upside to Official PMs is obvious – it is how you make things happen! The downside is that everyone will be aware of what occurs in these PMs. When the episodes are released, I will include IC tags at the end of each “scene” to note which players can consider those particular events as something that they would know about. A Backdoor PM, then, is any PM (or other method of communication) that I, the host, am not a part of. Anything said or done in these PMs will not be included in the scenes, which means that they will not technically occur; in this way, the downside is obviously that your abilities are limited. You cannot kill someone (or take other such drastic actions) in a Backdoor PM. But they do allow you to operate behind the scenes where I and others cannot see, and this can allow you to set up plans that might take several episodes to come to fruition. Some Example Actions TRAVEL Click the map up above to see Okoto. Each episode, players can travel through adjacent regions at a rate of one every 24 hours (any delays will occupy a 24 hour slot). Sailing will add an additional 24 hours to travel time, but will also increase security – and might allow for you to explore strange new lands! COMMUNICATION Will be a primary action in every round – keep in mind that while Backdoor PMs are very useful, unless you learn that information in an Official PM, you cannot make use of it… unless you’re able to do so without giving me a good reason to call you out on metagaming. Each region will be given their own Official PM; the same goes for the Guardians (and the Mask Maker with them), as well as certain other factions within the game – some you already know, and some that you might not. OTHER ACTIONS There are a variety of other actions that one might decide to take in a round. Perhaps you want to keep someone silent for a little while. Perhaps you want them to be silenced permanently. Perhaps you discover some new information, and this knowledge requires you to make moves not listed here. I have not thought of everything, for that would be impossible – and I will keep an open mind. If you have thought of an action to take that has not been mentioned, run it by me first if you are uncertain, and I will be able to inform you of whether it would be possible. ROLES RULER-These players rule over their respective regions (or, in the case of the Jungle Ruler, serve as their region’s backup should the Fire Ruler and Fire General both fall). They have final decision making power over the players in their region, and their opinions can often sway a vast number of Protectors. They must worry about the approval of those living in their region, as well as making sure the other players in their region actually do their jobs. GENERAL-These players are in charge of their region’s army – maintaining it, training it, and leading it if need be. They also serve as their region’s second in command should their Ruler perish or disappear, and work directly with their region’s Toa. They must worry about their soldier’s respect, else a mutiny could occur or morale could fall. DIPLOMAT-These players are in charge of diplomatic relations and trade. They will often need to travel in order to perform their duties, or send messages via the Guardians (though this will cost them approval within their region). They must worry about their approval, as the public will dislike a Diplomat that does not appear to be performing their duties. Travel can also be dangerous, and for Diplomats, even more so. GUARDIAN-These players form the Mask Maker’s Council. They are a mix of the General, Diplomat, and Turaga roles; each commands a fifth of the forces defending the Ancient City, while also providing the Mask Maker with advice and helping with any diplomatic issues that arise. The Guardians each have what they refer to as “little birds” in their respective regions that will keep them informed on any happenings there; it would be possible (but difficult) for a Guardian to spread their birds into other regions as well. TURAGA-These players are more reclusive, serving as historians, advisors, and oftentimes adventurers. Despite the honorary title, Turaga are not typically so old in their age that a simple fall would end them. They can use their vast knowledge of Okoto and its histories to help any players that might ask them for advice (particularly their Rulers), but Turaga are also known to frequently leave their regions to explore, searching out answers to new questions. STATS These stats will help each player to set themselves apart; you’ll fill out a stat sheet and send it to me via PM when you sign up. If you already know which role you will have, you can fill out the form to help you – or, if you’re feeling mischievous, you could fill it out to help you in different areas. Certain players will receive bonuses in particular areas depending on their roles; other players might lose stats in certain areas for the same reason… but keep in mind that these modifications will only occur after you have sent your form in. You will be given 40 points to assign wherever you choose, and can assign a maximum of 10 points to any individual stat; whenever you make a move, the relevant stat will be added to an RNG roll out of 10 for a combined result out of 20. The stats are as follows: STRENGTH – (Attack Damage, Physical Strength, Use of Larger Weapons & Tools such as Crossbows & Swords) PERCEPTION – (Noticing Surroundings – World & People, Recognizing an Attack or Attack Opportunity) ENDURANCE – (Stamina, Ability to Withstand Damage, Ability to use Masks of Power) CHARISMA – (Public Approval, Ability to Persuade NPCs – Possibly Players, How You Are Perceived by Others) INTELLIGENCE – (Chance of Success with Complex Actions & Attacks – Intelligence Checks, Damage & Hit Chance with Mask-Related Attacks, Ability to Plan/Approach Situations, Historical Knowledge) AGILITY – (Dodging, Hit Mitigation if Dodge Fails, Stealth, Use of Smaller Weapons & Tools such as Daggers & Small Hammers) LUCK – (Can be used as a “Saving Throw’ if a Roll Fails or used to improve chances with a Difficult Roll, Acts as a ‘Faith’ stat for Members of the Faithful) PLAYERS/REGIONS --- The Ancient City “Guard the Way” The Mask Maker – the Ruler of Okoto – is the only native of this central region. They currently possess the mystical Mask of Creation and the Mask of Time, both of which are contained within separate vaults deep inside the city. The vaults are guarded by two Skull Warriors – one wearing a Mask of Truth, the other a Mask of Strength. The Mask Maker is also personally guarded by Lewa, the Toa of Jungle, as the Jungle Region has been absorbed into the Fire Region. For a hundred years the Mask Makers have traditionally been guarded by the Skull Warriors; this change has met with some resistance from the regions, particularly Earth. The Ancient City houses a number of Protectors from all regions, and the Guardians each command a force of troops from their own regions approximately 100 strong to defend the Ancient City and its inhabitants. The current Mask Maker is a Protector of Water, who has long espoused their wishes for a peaceful and united Okoto – despite the circumstances that allowed them to reclaim their throne from Voxumo the Usurper. Political relationship with Fire, Earth, Ice and Stone is strained to varying degrees, though it is more of differing ideologies than of any true hostility. Political relationship with Water is stronger than it has been in nearly a century. Views on the Knights and the Faithful are neutral. 1-MASK MAKER-Pulse Vatten ------ The Fire Region “Fire and Blood” Supplies coal to the rest of the island, as well as forging iron tools with the metals mined in Earth and Stone. Since taking over the Jungle Region eight years ago, also supplies soil, plants, wood, and animals to the rest of the island. Guarded by Tahu, the Toa of Fire, and boast a military 9000 Protectors strong; 3000 of these are Protectors of Jungle. Of the army, rumors suggest that approximately 4000 of them are loyal to the Faithful, while 2000 are members of the secretive Knights. They share their regional words with House Aodh, whose members rule over the Fire Region. Political relationship with the Ancient City, Earth, and Water strained after their takeover of the Jungle Region. Political relationship with Stone remains strong, if only because Stone relies on Fire to purify their water supply. Political relationship with Ice remains cordial. Views on the Knights are range from neutral to positive. Views on the Faithful are positive, particularly in the Jungle. House Aodh “Fire and Blood” House Aodh has ruled over the Fire Region for over 300 years, since the time of Ekimu. Its members often rule over the region as a whole as well as its subsections, though it has been known to leave governmental positions open to other houses. Named for its founder, who unified the region through political marriages and intense negotiations to guarantee the loyalty of the other houses… or at the very least, their peace. So tight are these alliance that to turn against House Aodh is to turn against the other houses it is allied to – and making this mistake has led to more than one house being returned to the ashes. House Ember “The Flame Consumes All” Of all houses, it is House Ember which is most closely tied to House Aodh politically. They provide over half of the region’s soldiers, as well as the second-largest portion of its workforce; most of the Fire Region’s forgers originate from House Ember. House Ash “Naught Remains but Ash” Once a servant caste of sorts as well as the smallest major house in the Fire Region, House Ash was nearly wiped out 100 years ago in an attempted coup by House Darkfire. While the entire Fire Region was embroiled in battle, a number of assassins sent by House Darkfire managed to infiltrate the castle of House Aodh; countless members of House Ash gave their lives to slow down the assassins, and they succeeded in holding them off until the main force of the Darkfire Rebellion had been defeated. For their loyalty, the current Ruler dismantled House Darkfire entirely and elevated House Ash to their former position. Nowadays all members of House Ash receive rigorous training, so that they might serve as royal guards to House Aodh. Voxumo the Usurper was a member of House Ash. House Coal “Fuel for the Flame” Predictably, House Coal is the largest supplier of coal on Okoto. The excellence of their miners rivalled that of the Earth Region at its peak, if only in the realm of coal mining. Members of this house are said to be so unconcerned with precious gems, money, and wealth that they throw any products of mining not coal out for being useless as fuel. Their innovation of safety techniques and mechanisms has minimized the dangers of coal mining, and their air filtration systems are some of the most advanced tech present on the island. House Kindle “From a Spark, an Inferno” By recent censuses, House Kindle is the largest of the Fire Region. Providing nearly half of the region’s entire workforce and the second-largest portion of its soldiers (though still paling in comparison to House Ember in that regard), Kindle is notable to the other regions of Okoto for the numerous services it exports; it is House Kindle who purifies the Stone Region’s shipments of water. House Boscage “Fire and Ashes” House Boscage is currently the closest that the remnants of the Jungle Region have to a ruling house. Formerly House Cage, it shifted into its current form eight years ago when the acting Ruler of Jungle, as his final act, accepted the surviving members of many decimated houses into their ranks to form House Boscage. As a sign of their loyalty to Fire, they took on new house words, modelling them after those of House Aodh and the Fire Region. Due to the nature of its formation, House Boscage’s members are involved with a wide variety of activities. House Hinterland “Growing Strong” The former ruling house of the Jungle Region before the War for the Throne began ten years ago. In the earliest days of the war, TimeLord Hinterland was struck down by Nato Greavesy and Terrorsaur Rayne, propelling the Jungle Region into an alliance with Voxumo the Usurper – one they paid the price for when the Usurper was felled and the true heir seized the throne. Despite the Usurper’s death, the Jungle Region fought on for two years under the commands of TimeLord’s chosen intermediary commander, until the Fire Region razed half of Jungle to the ground and conquered what was left, crushing the remaining members of House Hinterlands in the process. Remnants of it still remain, but they are scattered and alone among the other Jungle Protectors. House Briar “Our Roots Go Deep” Of all the major houses, House Briar perhaps weathered the Fire takeover the easiest. As the best herders and farmers in the Jungle Region, their skills were necessary in order for the Fire Region to begin making use of the territory they had seized, as well as beginning the process of restoring what had been burned to ashes. 1-RULER-Burnmad Aodh - Killed by Smoke Monster, Episode 08 2-GENERAL-Dragonstar Ember - Felled by Undead, Episode 06 3-GUARDIAN-RG II Coal 4-DIPLOMAT-Sil Aodh 5-TURAGA-Unit Ember 6-(J)RULER-TimeLord II Hinterland 7-(J)GENERAL-Smoke Monster Boscage - Executed by Burnmad, Episode 08 8-(J)TURAGA-Chloe "Blade" Saryian ------ The Water Region “Right Conquers Might” Supplies water, fish, and animals to the rest of the island, as well as boats and other tools for sailing using wood from the Fire Region. Also contains a booming black market for poisons that those in power claim they have been unable to shut down. Guarded by Gali, the Toa of Water, and hold a military 5000 Protectors strong; 500 of these are rumored to be loyal to the secretive Knights. They share their regional words with House Vatten, whose members ruled over the Water Region until all except one were slain in the aftermath of Voxumo’s Rebellion. Political relationship with Stone remains poor after the Stone Region was decimated ten years ago at the hands of Terrorsaur Rayne. Political relationship with Fire (particularly the Jungle areas) is strained. Political relationship with the Ancient City and Mask Maker is secure, as is their guaranteed loyalty. Political relationship with Ice and Earth remains neutral, though significant ties have been forged with Ice in recent years. Views on the Knights range from neutral to positive. Views on the Faithful are carefully neutral. House Rayne “Flood from a Raindrop” At the end of Voxumo’s Rebellion, House Rayne took over the Water Region in the name of Voxumo the Usurper after House Vatten was dismantled, all the while hiding the true heir within their ranks. It provides water to the other regions, and has taken over House Vatten’s role of healing with water and plants as well. It has historic ties to the Earth and Ice Regions, both of which have been called upon and strengthened since the War for the Throne. House Rayne is known for being quick to act and take advantage of situations, and remains unapologetic about any actions it takes that might offend other regions, believing in its house words: they are the flood, and everything else are the raindrops. House Vatten “Right Conquers Might” House Vatten ruled over the Water Region for 300 years, and members of their house frequently sat upon the throne in the Ancient City as well… right up until Voxumo’s Rebellion thirty years ago. In the aftermath of the rebellion, every member of House Vatten was slaughtered due to their ties to the previous line of Mask Makers except for Pulse Vatten, son to the usurped Mask Maker and true heir to the throne. Pulse remained in hiding for twenty years before gathering allies and starting the War for the Throne, in which he successfully overthrew the Usurper and reclaimed his place. House Vatten remains small, and relies on the loyalty and protection of House Rayne, unable to rely on its historic ties to the Jungle Region; due to this arrangement, House Rayne has also taken over the role of healing with water and plants. House Corruich “The Rage of Rapid Rivers” Formed roughly half a century before Voxumo’s Rebellion, House Corruich is a merged house of off-shots from House Conlectus and House Rayne. It is generally quick to anger and is also slightly xenophobic, though not to the extent of House Conlectus. It has historic ties to both Ice and Stone which is does not try to conceal, and provides many fish-based goods to the rest of Okoto, as well as specializing in sailing and ships House Conlectus “Water Erodes All” The smallest of all the major houses in Okoto before several others were nearly wiped out after Voxumo’s Rebellion and the War for the Throne, House Conlectus is known for their rather poor luck, faring poorly in every war they take part in. As a result, they are a particularly xenophobic house – especially towards Stone, though they are known to dislike Jungle and Ice as well. They are somewhat of a laughingstock to the rest of Water, as this goes directly against their ancestral ties to the Stone Region. House Lurrun “Water Boils, Water Burns” House Lurrun provides the majority of the Water Region’s soldiers and is the second largest house in the region, though its current growth might soon put it ahead of House Rayne. It has significant external ties to the house of the Fire Region, hence its house name and words; they are what comes when Water and Fire meet. Its members frequently push for greater ties with the Fire Region; wishes that have begun to come to fruition since the War for the Throne. 1-RULER-Terrorsaur Rayne 2-GENERAL-ToaD Amphibionus 3-GUARDIAN-Jed "the Kingslayer" Corruich 4-DIPLOMAT-Kit Lurrun 5-TURAGA-Metastriker Lurrun - Died spying on Stone, Episode 03 6-TURAGA-Purple Rayne ------ The Ice Region “Cold as Iron” Supplies snow, ice, warriors, guards, and steel to the rest of the island. Rumor suggests that the Ice Region also contains the current headquarters of the secret brotherhood known as the Knights of Ekimu, and that the region itself remains favorable to them. Guarded by Kopaka, the Toa of Ice, and boast the strongest military force on Okoto – 10, 000 Protectors strong, nearly 4000 of which are claimed to be loyal to the secretive Knights. Their regional words come from the ancient House Gelu, which collapsed approximately a century ago in what many suspect was a coup. Political relationship with Earth is extremely poor. Political relationship with Fire, Stone, and the Ancient City are strained but cordial. Political relationship with Water remains neutral, though significant ties have been forged in recent years. Views on the Knights are extremely positive. Views on the Faithful are extremely negative. House Greavesy “The Cold Preserves All, But the Self Above Else” One of the oldest houses of the Ice Region, House Greavesy has a history of sticking to the sidelines, waiting to pick sides until the victor becomes obvious. As a result, its reputation is rather shaky across the entire island, though this has begun to change, with its current head – a Protector named Nato – having actively helped the true heir to reclaim the throne ten years prior. House Rime “In Ice, All Stagnates” Once a proud and powerful nation, efforts to expand their borders into the territory of other houses ended with wars of attrition on multiple fronts. At the time of Voxumo’s Rebellion, House Rime ruled over the Ice Region; nowadays House Rime is a shadow of what it once was, and while they have outwardly embraced this – even with their house words – some say that they still plot to become a prominent force within the Ice Region once again. House Nivis “Avalanches Have No Fury like Ours” A pugnacious, militant house, House Nivis is a significant contributor to the nation’s military forces, but they are also stubborn and proud. They are known to respond violently or spitefully to insults and affronts of any kind; after overthrowing the rule of House Rime twenty years ago, their inability to handle Voxumo the Usurper led to a failed assassination attempt on the Usurper that saw the head of House Nivis slain by a Skull Warrior, favor lost across the island, and a new Ruler from a different house being appointed to control the Ice Region instead. Despite these setbacks, House Nivis remains undeterred, and they seek to add to their many historical conquests of minor houses. House Glacies “Thriving Like Ice” Historically, House Glacies has done very little – though in the ever-shifting lands of Ice, that has served them well. It has waged no wars, never significantly contributed to any conflict, and never led the nation… but it has survived and thrived in the face of every adversity thrown its way. Natural disasters, foreign invaders, and other houses have all failed to overcome them, thanks to their well-defended, strategically-positioned home. House Crustallus / House Crustallum “Harder than Ice” / “Stronger than Stone” Once one house, House Crustallus and House Crustallum split off from one another nearly a century ago over some family dispute, and have remained on harsh terms with one another ever since. The two remain in close proximity to one another, jointly operating small mines in the mountains of the Ice Region, but are always arguing and disagreeing. 1-RULER-FF Crustallus 1-GENERAL-Nato 'the Traveller' Greavesy 3-GUARDIAN-Onaku Greavesy 4-DIPLOMAT-Ehksidian Glacies 5-TURAGA-Sisyphus Glacies - Executed by Nato, Episode 07 ------ The Nation of Kamuk “As Strong as Stone” Supplies stone, metal, workers and tools to the rest of the island. Also becoming well-known for procuring antidotes to most poisons. The former Stone Region suffered greatly during the War for the Throne, with nearly a third of their entire population wiped out after their water supplies were poisoned by House Rayne of the Water Region. Despite this, in the decade since, they have managed a miraculous rebound, thanks in no small part to significant aid from the Earth Region. Guarded by Pohatu, the Toa of Stone, and contain a military 7000 Protectors strong; rumors suggest that 4000 of these are loyal to the Faithful. Unlike most regions, the regional words for the Stone Region have never doubled as the words of a house; since before Ekimu’s time, the Stone Region’s words have served as a unique line to unite the region itself. Political relationship with Water remains poor. Political relationship with Fire remains strong, but only because Stone depends on Fire to purify their water supply – something that the Stone Region hates, especially since Fire absorbed Jungle. Political relationship with Earth is strong. Political relationship with the Ancient City and Ice is strained, but cordial. Views on the Knights are neutral at best. Views on the Faithful are positive. House Raqmu “Stand Tall Eternally” Until Voxumo’s Rebellion, House Raqmu served as the main banner men to House Petros – but when their lieges fought against the Usurper, House Raqmu seized their chance. When the rebellion ended in success, House Raqmu was installed as the new leaders of the Stone Region, and the first house outside of Petros to rule the region since before Ekimu’s time. With the Usurper’s death, however, the future is anything but certain…. House Petros “The Great Foundation” Claiming descent from Patrus the Proud, House Petros has ruled over the Stone Region since time immemorial, having bound the disjointed tribes early on and forming a strong, united front. They were overthrown by House Raqmu during Voxumo’s Rebellion after trying to support the true heir, and have spent the last thirty years in disgrace – but they still exist all the same. House Archean “Might With Right” House Archean prides itself on keeping the laws of the land, resorting to justice or military might to uphold peace. They have strong historic ties to the Water Region and House Vatten in particular – a link signified by their house words. During Voxumo’s Rebellions they sided with the Water Region and House Petros, but their numbers decreased drastically after the Usurper won, as many members of House Archean chose the sword instead of living in the Usurper’s new world. The remaining members still continue their fight for justice and fairness. House Maran “Steer the World” Traditionally, House Maran has developed most weapons and tools for the Stone Region. If updated technology is sought after, House Maran is the place to get it. Having remained neutral during both Voxumo’s Rebellion and the War for the Throne, they continue on a path of prosperity and stability – though their reputation is somewhat tarnished, as they have become known for only providing their services if the pay is good. House Galum “Fight to Live, Live to Fight” Warriors are bred from birth in House Galum – making them a crucial ally in almost every conflict. Their support was instrumental in allowing House Raqmu to overthrow House Petros during Voxumo’s Rebellion… and their waning support during the War for the Throne is believed by many to have contributed heavily to the Stone Region losing the war. It remains to be seen if they will now aspire for greater things than serving as the Stone Region’s cannon fodder, or if the status quo shall remain. 1-RULER-ShadowVezon Raqmu 2-GENERAL-Quin Galum 3-GUARDIAN-Irteza Shah Galum - Executed by Kulta, Episode 05 4-DIPLOMAT-Vinheim Maran 5-TURAGA-Iaredios Paerkenon - Executed by ShadowVezon, Episode 06 ------ The Earth Region “What is Dead May Never Die” Supplies gems and metals to the rest of the island. Occasionally lends Skull Warriors to other regions should a task prove too arduous for Protectors alone, though only if the project in question is led by those who keep to the Faith. Guarded by Onua, the Toa of Earth, and contain an army 2000 Protectors strong; all but 100 of these are said to be devout to the Faithful. They also hold a force of 1000 Skull Warriors. Their regional words represent the entire region as a whole, for their army of 2000 Protectors consists of almost every single Earth Protector who still lives. They were selected after the Earth Region returned to the fold. Political relationship with Ice is extremely poor. Political relationship with Ancient City and Fire is strained. Political relationship with Stone is strong. Political relationship with Water remains neutral. Views on the Knights are extremely negative. Views on the Faithful are extremely positive. House Sevoi “Tremors within the Serene” Of the three remaining major houses of the region, House Sevoi is perhaps the largest and the strongest, as they historically provided the Earth Region with most of its troops and combat training – the need for which has grown exponentially in the last thirty years as the region collapsed after fleeing underground. While the region is ruled by Kulta and the Faith, of the remaining three houses, House Sevoi is by far the most faithful, and they hold the most power because of it. House Zemlja “The Light of Night” The second largest and most powerful house still remaining, House Zemlja is unparalleled in their ability to re-shape and carve gems into special “light stones” that are used all across Okoto to light mines and other dark areas more permanently than torches allow. The ability to provide this service in the eternal darkness underground insured House Zemlja’s survival during the Earth Region’s exile, and it has drawn Kulta’s personal attentions to them as well. House Qendroj “Here We Stand” The former ruling house of the Earth Region, who were decimated by the forces of Fire, Stone, and Ice during Voxumo’s Rebellion thirty years before. In the years since they have diminished further, and as the lone house within the entire region to not keep to the Faith, their power is next to none. Yet true to their house words, here they still stand – whatever happens, House Qendroj will endure. 1-RULER-Toru Sevoi 2-GENERAL-Underscore Zemlja 3-GUARDIAN-Kelotu Zemlja 4-DIPLOMAT-Luroka Qendroj 5-TURAGA-Portal Sevoi - Poisoned by Knights of Ekimu, Episode 06 ---
  12. Hi BZP folks, I normally spend my time loitering around the TTV boards, but I've been working on a Bionicle G2 RPG system for a while and figured that I could share it here just in case you guys are interested. First off, a video trailer that I made for this project: The system is heavily based on 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons, but with a lot of tweaks and mechanics specific to Bionicle G2. The files for the Core Rulebook and Okoto Travelers' Guide: Core Rulebook: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7w4fdP3meUDYWhjc3BRWkg1NUU/view?usp=sharing Okoto Travelers' Guide: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7w4fdP3meUDUFlPZWQyNXM2Ykk/view?usp=sharing There's a lot to unpack in those two documents, since they contain all the rules for the entirety of the Legends of Okoto RPG system as it stands right now and most of the world lore. I haven't finished the creature list in the Travelers' Guide yet, though. The updated Travelers' Guide will be made available as soon as I've added everything that needs to be added into it, definitely sometime within the next two weeks. Also, even though I haven't added most of his stuff to the Travelers' Guide yet, special thanks to Nescent for letting us use his combiner MOCs to make up the creature list of Legends of Okoto. Nescent's MOCs: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/17041-wildlife-of-okoto/ http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/19866-wildlife-of-the-ancient-city/?do=findComment&comment=1013742https://www.flickr.com/photos/129809225@N03/sets/72157663871936066
  13. To download just this Okoto font (okoto2016): visit the okoto2016 directory, click the font file you want to download (the TTF is a good bet), then click "View Raw." To download this and three more Bionicle fonts (metrumatoran, voyamatoran, okoto2016, okoto [outdated]): visit the latest release and choose your preferred download link. Credit goes to jed1ndy for actually creating the glyphs. The original glyphs are here: jed1ndy's Complete Okoto Alphabet + Okatan Symbols. I just made the glyphs into vectors and used Fontello to make them into a font. Also in the newest version I changed the C/c glyph a bit and added the creature symbol as the 8 glyph. The okoto2016 font has glyphs for a-z, A-Z, 1-9, and [space]. Numbers correspond to the following symbols: 1: Lewa 2: Pohatu 3: Gali 4: Tahu 5: Onua 6: Kopaka 7: Elemental Creatures 8: Umarak 9: Ekimu Thanks for looking!
  14. Slizer Mafia 2: Okotans’ Revenge Having invaded Okoto, the Judge Slizer was able to use the Mask of Time to return to the year 2000 and create a future where the Slizer theme continued. For years now the theme has prospered, having millions of fans and drawing in massive profits, completely overshadowing every other smaller constraction line Lego has produced on the side and achieving a steadiness that ensures many more years of prosperity. But as the theme entered into 2015, a familiar distortion appeared in the sky over the Slizer Dome. Later that day, a Slizer official was found dead, holding in their hand a note written in the Okotan alphabet: “We will take our future back.” The Judge Slizer has been put in charge of finding and eliminating the Okotan invaders. The Slizer Dome has been placed in lockdown, successfully cornering the bionic fiends, but they have managed to infiltrate the task force and are working to dismantle it and leave with classified information about a certain individual. As their allies start to be picked off one by one, the Judge Slizer resorts to desperate measures… *** Welcome to Mafia! This game will be separated into Day and Night rounds each lasting 24 hours. During the Night rounds, special roles will decide on actions via PM, and then during the Day, all players vote on who they think is guilty, and whoever receives the most votes is executed. Okotans: These G2 elites have made their way to this alternate timeline to claim vengeance for the Slizers’ act of raiding Okoto. Win by eliminating all Slizers. -Ekimu the Mask Maker x1: A wise elder determined to take back what is rightfully theirs. Each night, Ekimu will order one of the other Okotans to kill someone. Ekimu cannot send the same person two nights in a row, and cannot be killed unless he is the last Okotan left alive. -Kulta the Skull Grinder x1: This creature’s dark powers were disrupted in the process of crossing timelines, limiting what they can do…for now. If they survive until Night 4, however, their powers will return, and they can revive one of the players they have killed as a Skull Slizer bound to the will of Ekimu. -Umarak the Hunter x1: An elemental being of Shadow who is one with the night itself. When Umarak kills someone, there is no suspect list. -Tahu the Uniter of Fire x1: Being the leader of the Toa, Tahu has some doubts about this mission, but if one of the other Okotans is killed he will realize that he has no choice but to take things seriously. At this point, Tahu will call Ikir to his aid and be able to kill two people when sent, though this produces a smaller suspect list. Slizers: A special task force assembled to eradicate the Okotans, they have now been compromised and must purge their ranks at any cost. Win by eliminating all Okotans. -Redshirt Slizer x 14: Generic soldiers who don’t do anything other than vote. -Judge Slizer x1: An elite official leading this task force. Their vote counts as 3 votes. -City Slizer x1: A speedy Slizer who can investigate one player each night to learn their role. -Spark Slizer x1: A medical officer who can protect one player each night, nullifying all attacks against them. They can also grant an electric shield to one player, giving them the ability to escape death once, but the Spark Slizer can only create ONE such shield. -Blaster Slizer x1: This aggressive gunner selects one player to kill each night, though their weapon is ineffective against other members of the task force. In light of this, no one will be executed as a result of a kill made by the Blaster Slizer. Neutral Roles: Civilians who were unable to get out before the lockdown went into effect. Win by surviving. -Music Slizer x1: This Slizer wants to be involved and will target someone every night, but their mood is entirely dependent on what song their iPod shuffles out. They might protect their target, they might kill them, they might prevent them from acting, they might learn what their role is. Music can take you anywhere. -Flare Slizer x1: A disturbed individual who was found enjoyment in this chaos. Every night they will target two players and launch a volley of fireballs as they fly over, randomly killing one and burying the other in rubble. If a player gets buried in rubble twice, they will die. -Hiker Mike x1: An unbelievably friendly individual and a master of negotiations. They can target one player and talk them out of making any rash decisions, stripping them of their role ability. This ability can only be used ONCE, and the player must explicitly activate it in their PM. If Ekimu is targeted, they will be killed and another Okotan will assume their authority; if another Okotan is targeted, they can no longer be sent to kill. Since targeting a Redshirt Slizer would accomplish nothing, if Hiker Mike targets one of them, this ability will not be used up and Hiker Mike can try again. Rules: 1. BZP rules, yo (follow them) 2. 15. This is what I gathered form BS01: --The Vahi comes into existence. Since it is older than the stars, it has to come first. --At some point in the distant past, the elements themselves magically create the mysterious island of Okoto. --The elements are: (1) stone, (2) earth, (3) water, (4) fire, (5) jungle, (6) ice, (7) light, and (8) shadow. --In addition to the island, 7 creatures are created from stone, earth, water, fire, jungle, ice, and light to be the avatars of their respective elements. Shadow, in response, creates Umarak the Hunter to oppose and hunt the creatures. --The Temple of Time is either created from the elements as well, or the Okotoans build it as their first temple. The Mask of Time somehow then arrives at the Temple. --Okotoans either are also formed from the elements, or migrate from another location. --Okotoans build the Labyrinth of Control --The Capitol City is built. --The City of the Mask Makers is built. --The Skull Raiders invade the island from a different location. --The islanders live in harmony, along with the Mask Makers Makuta and Ekimu. So there are a few things I'm wondering about: 1. We know the Skull Army is not native to Okoto (presumably they sailed to the island from elsewhere). Does this mean there is a mainland on this planet inhabited by skeleton people? Why did they come to Okoto? How did they know about it? And, if they did know about beforehand, how is it that no one else has come to Okoto in its several thousand years of recored history? Ultimately, what were they hoping to get out of coming to Okoto? 2. How did the Okotoans get to Okoto? Were they created from the elements too? Did the Great Beings put them there? Did they sail to the island from another location? Who told them then that there would be a rich island in the middle of the ocean? 3. Also: are the Mask Makers just skilled Okotoans? Or are they a whole other race? Is that ever explained? Is Makuta an earth villager and Ekimu a water one? 4. What's with those 2 moons anyway? One thing I'll say I don't like so much about G2 is there's no Greg to ask.
  16. Mafia: Slizers on Okoto Makuta had been banished to the Shadow Realm. The Toa had returned to the stars, having used up all their life points. Okoto was about to know prosperity once again. No one knows how or why the strange portal appeared in the sky, or just how many airships emerged from it. But everyone now knows the chaos brought upon the island by the strange beings known as Slizers, and that with the Temple of Time under their control, the Toa will not be coming to save anyone this time. The vastness of Okoto has proved advantageous, leaving the Slizers spread thin and one small village a relatively safe haven. However, one night, a Slizer ship moved over the village and fired something—a bolt of light that shot into the village and then disappeared without a trace. The next morning, a Slizer defector approached the village with crucial information: that the Slizer forces had set into motion some sort of experiment, and an elite group known as the Ultrarexes had infiltrated the village in the hopes of finding its results. With the airship hanging over them like a guillotine, the panicked villagers came to a decision. They would root out and eliminate the Ultrarexes…by any means necessary. *** Welcome to Mafia! This game will be separated into Day and Night rounds each lasting 24 hours. During the Night rounds, special roles will decide on actions via PM, and then during the Day, all players vote on who they think is guilty, and whoever receives the most votes is executed. Sounds like fun, right? Factions and Roles: Okotans: The normally peaceful villagers have been consumed by paranoia, and have taken to lynching each other in a desperate attempt to rid themselves of the Slizer menace. Win by killing all Ultrarexes. -Protector x1: The brave leader of the village. True to their title, the Protector can protect one player from death each night. -Villager x11: Normal villagers who do nothing aside from vote. However, intel from the City Slizer suggests that one of these individuals may not be what they seem… Ultrarexes: Hostile Slizers who have blended into the village population. Each night they will kill one player, and they win the game by killing all Okotans and Robotops (aside from the Fire Slizer). -Judge Slizer x1: The leader of the Ultrarexes, the Judge Slizer decides which subordinate to dispatch each night and who the target will be. They cannot be the one who goes to kill unless both the Rock and Jungle Slizers are dead, and if they do, there will be no suspect list. In the event of their death, another Ultrarex will be selected randomly to take their place. -Rock Slizer x1: A resilient warrior who bulldozes their targets with raw power. They possess a plasma shield that will protect them from death once. -Jungle Slizer x1: A silent assassin who eliminates their targets with elegant precision. If the Protector foils their attempt, they will retaliate with a poison dart that will prevent the Protector from acting the following night. -Energy Slizer x1: A scout who can weave in and out of the village without being detected. Each night the Energy Slizer can investigate one player to determine if they are the secret role, and if they are, the Ultrarexes will be told how to activate this role. Since they cannot kill, if the Energy Slizer is the final Ultrarex left alive, the game ends in victory for the Okotans and Robotops. -Altered Villager/Skull Slizer x1: The result of the Ultrarexes’ astral mutation experiment, this once-normal villager has returned to life as an undead creature who is extremely resistant to death…and extremely eager to tear into their former allies. Robotops: Though not a unified group, there is one thing these rogue Slizers have in common: they have all taken up arms against their own people in one form or another. The Sub, Ski, and City Slizers win by killing all Ultrarexes, and the Fire Slizer wins simply by surviving the game. -Sub Slizer x1: The only thing this outlaw Slizer wants is to put an end to the Ultrarexes’ mysterious experiment. Each night they will target one player, and if the target is an Ultrarex, they will kill them. -City Slizer x1: A defector who has chosen to aid the village in their fight for survival. Each night they will investigate one player to learn their role. The mystery role will appear to them as an ordinary Villager. -Ice Slizer: x1: A laid-back Slizer who wants to stop things from escalating if at all possible. Each night they will freeze one player, preventing them from acting. -Fire Slizer x1: A deformed Slizer gone mad with rage. Each night they will target two players, one of whom will be killed. Rules: 1. All BZP rules apply, obviously. 2. No vote switches. 3. No screenshots or role-revealing or leaking info to others or spilling the beans once you’re dead…just, you know, don’t spoil anything! D: We need at least 20 players to start. 19. So now that it's relevance to the story has ended, do we have an inkling of why the Labyrinth of Control was created? We know ancient Okotoan's built it for a reason, you don't build giant shifting mazes without a good reason. We also know you need to unite with an elemental creature to get into the central chamber, I assume that's a feature it always had because I don't see the elemental creatures as able to modify magitech like that. One reason it was built could be because of a vision from the mask of time, but I feel like someone else could come up with a better theory. Hence I made this topic.
  20. While following the current storyline and hearing input from the community, one issue commonly brought up is Umarak's ineptitude at capturing the Creatures, even after thousands of years. This theory, if true, may explain why that is, and why forging a mask of more than one element is so dangerous. Umarak came into being when the Creatures did, to balance the six elements with the darkness, or shadow. The reason he never caught them was because of this balance; in an almost yin yang fashion, neither the creatures nor Umarak could gain the upper hand, because the creatures were united against him, and the island's elements were in harmony. However, when Makuta made the MoUP, he upset the balance, and due to this upset in balance the island degraded, and the Creatures were divided, drawn to the areas where their element was the most prominent, to resume an uneasy game of cat and mouse with Umarak for years afterwards. However, while Ekimu did stop Makuta from further destabilizing the island, that initial destabilization did give Umarak an advantage. Shadow and Destruction, in my opinion in regards to this story, is that combination of elements forcibly wielded by one, while Creation and Life are represented by the individual elements each wielded by one, working together. Therefore, the existence of the MoUP slowly began to change the nature of Okoto, causing the natives to more heavily modify their regions to suit one element, which made the unity of elements on Okoto much weaker against the united forces of darkness. This, in turn, led to the eventual arrival of the Toa, to "balance the elements and shadow" again. But the unforeseen consequence of that was Umarak, the only fully alive user of shadow, gaining more power, to balance the power of the Toa AND Creatures, and this is why it is so important that the Toa and Creatures unite, so they can stand a chance against the shadow. Additionally, the Toa's arrival probably also boosted the abilities of Makuta, who is the only other known being in the Okotoverse that utilizes the shadow, and functions as a counterbalance. Well, that was a longer post than expected! In short, I think that the shadow element in this universe is a combination of the elements used by one, while the protagonists each wield one element, working together to balance the darkness. One quick correction: It is my opinion that Life or Light is represented by numerous beings working together, and this is the only way great power can be wielded for the good; Unity of the users, Duty to those they protect, and their Destiny on the horizon.
  21. This is the review topic for my first serious work of fiction, Skull Grinder Reimagined. Questions, ideas, and feedback are all greatly appreciated. Enjoy.
  22. I started writing a long story on Kulta the Skull Grinder, sort of an origin story, a few months back. In my opinion, G2 has a lot of great opportunities for world-building and serious character depth, and this is my first serious attempt at a fanfic. Hope that it's good. Comments and criticism are awesome. Chapter One: Untold thousands of years ago. Two of the most skilled magicians on the island of Okoto dueled. A fierce, artfully measured battle bruised and bloodied the tapestries within the temple on the outskirts of a beautiful city. The elderly women and men of the city told stories of the temple, and how a beautiful goddess flew down from the heavens with a blessing of the city and a commandment to build the temple. An unbelievable colossus was built. Today, the tapestries within were threatened with destruction. Ekimu was a war-lord, a magician, a mask maker whose past, even then, was a blank page in every history book. Now, he battled against a mask; some simple sheet of face-hugging metal. No one believed that Ekimu could possibly be murdered by a mask. But it wasn't just any mask. For longer than any elder of Okoto could remember, two wizened craftsmen had ruled the island, known as the mask makers of Okoto; two of the most powerful and most skilled sages when it came to both metal-working and magic. Ekimu and his talented brother, Makuta had served as the two sages and rulers of the land for such countless centuries, tenfold beyond the earliest known writings of the Protectors. Their army was a fearsome force among the nearby isles, as surely loyal to its commander, Kulta, as the blood of many a conquered enemy that surely kept time, drip, kept eternal time as it dripped into the ground. But Makuta had done the unthinkable, never before attempted by a mask maker; the magician dared to combine every single elemental force, failing to even omit the most dangerous of them all, the shadow. So it was that the talented brother harnessed the deepest force of Okoto, death in his vast powers. Now, Makuta screamed in his brother's presence, the speech distorted by the empowering sheet of metal that he wore on his face. "Do you remember the praise they all gave you? Have you forgotten about the gift-diamonds, the frescoes? I will not let injustice pass! Cannot!" And Makuta began to draw up a calloused hunk of molten rock from the power of his mask, glowing and painfully hot to even be near. "Not sure if you've heard that I've beaten you! Not sure if you've heard of my most pristine creation! So fresh, it's barely out of the furnace!" He hurled a ball of molten rock at Ekimu's face. A quick dodge was all that was needed, and a swift follow-up to put him in his- yet, Makuta was swifter still than Ekimu even when the latter was angered, for he wore that mask, what a terrible mask! Makuta created a chasm in the earth to trip his brother, who fell quicker than any man could have reacted. Today, Makuta wore a mask of power more horrifyingly unpredictable than anyone could possibly dream of, not the least drop docile or caring. A joke for the mask is waking you up off-balance after a drugged sleep. A favor is a smooth death with a well-sharpened knife. In Makuta’s mind a brave and brutal war is the same as a small quarrel. An annoyance is as harshly dealt with as a generation-spanning betrayal by a proven friend. "You enjoy this, don't you?" Ekimu rolled onto one side and began his long climb out of his trap. "I find it quite sad, actually.", the menace said, pausing in his duel. "Warring with one such as you is little more than a means to an end." Ho, Ekimu could not simply leave the best craftsman, closest ally, as the creature that he was on that day. But tales of the past had left him that Makuta could not be redeemed. So, with his last ounce of strength, he sprint-climbed out of the chasm and formed from around him his hammer, a gigantic blue war weapon. With one strong shot, he struck a flailing Makuta, a murky beast, into the air, knocking his mask of power from his face. No longer would Makuta dwell as a mask maker on Okoto. … It had been decades since Kulta had been rushing as fast as he was to the high pyramid of the mask makers in the center of the city. Dire though the note read, vague as it was, there was no doubt that he was almost late, and had been arranged to speak at an important funeral. Certainly, Kulta had paraded his army past the sacred site a thousand times through his untold years. But, he could never get used to the greatest site in the city, on the island, and as his brow jumped and his eyes widened yet again, all thoughts of careful pomp and circumstance left his mind. Bellowing commands and spitting vulgar words in between thick gobs of saliva, Kulta’s twin drivers whipped the barely conscious horses on. One incredibly short and fat over fat, one spindly thin and hunched over like a bird of prey against the carriage ceiling that was far to tall for him, they were both slapped into niceties once the brutal yet beautiful image appeared before them. What a wonder it must have been that they suppressed their curses and spitting, their crudeness and rudeness! Kulta’s pupils narrowed and his eyes burned as he forced his way out of the carriage and sprinted over to the procession, shocked. Trying to restrain himself from crying out, as many were, he attempted to think of his wife, his family. He could not pull a single name to his mind as the golden-blue coffin paved a path through the swarming crowd. “Great spirits bless… why, that’s Ekimu!” Knowing nothing but Kulta, the servants waited on him. “A, heh, drink sir? “Better getcha a chare, ser.” Kulta had been struck into a trembling shock, yet the stupidity of his servants came to his advantage on that day as he ordered them out. What a silly time for pleasantries and pomp, he quietly thought to himself. And he never thought that. An barren breeze blasted by him, and yet he did not waver, save to raise an arm, paralyzed by fear, in salute. By the spirits!- he could not waver. Scarcely fazed by the sight as they were, Kulta’s servants responded quickly. “Should I bear witness to the funeral of a god? Rather than deliver the speech that he had prepared, Kulta simply cast his eyes onto the farthest reaches of the ocean of mourners, which, like millions upon millions of pins bobbing up down, any which way in an endless ocean, obscured the early sunset almost completely, a gargantuan throng that shared the commander’s feelings at that very moment.

Plus I also had a Protector mask from an older order so I thought I put it to use. The hammer is near ancient, minor alterations were done on it though. 24. The masters' masks are the masks of their respective elements. But what do they do? are they the source of their power? Are they powerless without them, both elementally and otherwise? What about the Golden masks? Is it just like going from "olda" to "nuva", like it's just a power level upgrade? And if the masks are the source of elemental powers, then what happens if, say, Tahu wears the Mask of Ice. Would it work for him? Or does that mask work only for one person? What about Protector masks? Are they basically turaga-level elemental power masks? And, here's the one that confuses me the most, what does the Mask of Creation do? When Kulta wore it, all he did was smash the Toa. Doe sit actually help you create stuff? Is it more like the G1 version of Artakha's mask then? But then it also makes you stronger, meaning that even people who aren't the owners of the masks can use them... And what does the Mask of control do? Is it like a high-powered Komau? I guess this should be more straightforward, but it must have gone over my head. Can you guys sum it up?
  25. Hello, everyone! I haven't been active on BZP for quite some time now, but I felt that it might be worthwhile to share my project with you folks (especially seeing as I've already posted it on other sites). So, without further adieu, I give you my... Okoto Minecraft Map My goal in creating this world was to make a virtual representation of Okoto that features everything that we've actually seen in the story, as well as give players the chance to traverse the island on their own accord. It's kind of like an experiment in that it shows us exactly how much we've truly learned about the island. Here's what you can expect to find... The City of the Mask Makers: More And yes, most of the undead are present! Unfortunately, I was unable to make Scorpio happen. There's just nothing in game that looks remotely like him. The skull warriors spawn in waves(as long as there is someone within 50 meters of the gate). Skull Slicer can be summoned in the arena! He boasts more health than a normal skeleton and will occasionally use a grabber whirlwind attack to try and pull you in. He usually drops his grabber claw upon death. Kulta is found in the forge. By default he has 100 health and will occasionally use his Mask Steal attack(which breaks nearby players' headgear. This includes masks!) He also gains significant speed, strength, and regen buffs after donning the mask of creation, not to mention the inherent protection bonus. Whoops! Forgot to mention that Kulta drops The Mask Stealer Staff which, after being held for a sufficient period of time, charges up the same attack that Kulta can use on you. You'll begin to see red particles around you when it's ready, then all you have to do is sneak! If you beat him after he puts on the MoC, he will drop that as well. Given how poorly documented its powers are, I just gave it a protection 10 enchantment. It's nothing fancy, but it's better than a diamond helmet at the very least. Skull Basher is around too. I'll let him find you. Mask Shrines and Powers More All of the island's mask shrines are present. It would also seem that the Toa have left behind their basic masks... Perhaps these will be of use to you? Bear in mind that I took these screenshots before I implemented the masks, so they aren't on the pedestals. Don't worry, they will be there in game. For the record, I'm not really sure why the images are all different sizes Here are the abilities granted by the masks: -Holding Sneak with the mask of stone donned will activate the sandstorm tornado ability and lift you into the air! -Sprinting with the mask of air for extended periods of time will build up a speed and jump boost, eventually allowing you to clear huge tracts of land in a single bound! -Holding sneak for a(particularly long) period of time with the mask of ice equipped will charge up and project an elemental ice shield around the wearer. -Holding sneak for a short period of time with the mask of water donned will activate the tidal dash ability, giving the wearer speed, strength, and regeneration for 10 seconds. Additionally, the mask of water greatly improves swim speed. -Once a player has worn the mask of earth for a certain length of time, they will begin to emit purple particles. This indicates that, upon sneaking, they will create a tremor in the ground around them and pull nearby entities under. -The mask of fire functions in a similar fashion to the mask of earth; after an extended period of time with the mask on, the player will begin to emit flame particles. This means that, upon sneaking, they will release a burst of flame in multiple directions and create a blazing inferno around them.(Be advised; this one is somewhat buggy and may cause lag issues if used too often.) I did film myself demonstrating each mask, but for whatever reason the files got corrupted. I'll give it another go at some point, but for now I'll just leave you with footage of the mask of stone: Additional notable locations: More There are a few other places worth traveling to... Download: If you're interested in seeing the map firsthand, you can download it... here Make sure that you play it in the 1.9 snapshots, otherwise it will not work! Lastly, here's an overview of the map(as seen in worldpainter). Disregard the lack of snow in that render; it didn't account for biomes. Thanks for stopping by!
