  1. This is a movie that I wanted to see for a little while, and I'm glad it lived up to my expectations. The Revenant is definitely not a kid's movie (its rated R), but for those old enough for it, I do recommend it. There are some amazing shots of the scenery in the movie. The environment looks just as beautiful as it is deadly. I actually felt cold in the theater at points just from watching this movie. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, and the rest of the cast do a great job with their roles. Especially DiCaprio, who I hope finally gets an Oscar Nomination for his role. I won't spoil anything here, but he goes through A LOT in the movie, and you can't help but hope for them succeed in his quest for revenge. I will note that this is sort of a gory movie. So if that isn't your thing, you may want to stay away. You will see guts and blood in this. Plus, and this may count as a spoiler if you haven't seen the trailers: Overall, I enjoyed the film. I don't think its a movie for everyone though. I could see some people say that its slow in certain places, and I wouldn't argue against that. But its still a good film IMO and I recommend it for those interested in it and old enough to see it.
  2. I was away from the Internet when the Smash Direct took place, but I've caught up on what I've missed. 1. Cloud and his Final Fantasy Stage are available now. I haven't bought them yet as of this blog entry, but I will probably get them soon. 2. and Bayonetta from the Bayonetta series of games are also joining the game as playable characters. (Corrin's Smash trailer is linked. I'm not sure if I can post a link to Bayonetta's trailer though, so I will refrain from doing so for now.) I will admit that I don't know much about either of them, but they both look like fun characters to use. I believe I also read that Bayonetta was the character that got the most votes from the people who voted on which character(s) they wanted to see in the game. Bayonetta will also come with a stage called the Umbra Clock Tower stage. Both character and stage, along with Corrin, will be available in February of next year. 3. A bunch of new Mii Fighter Outfits are also being released. A couple of them are available now, but the rest will come out in February. Mii Outfits never interested me too, but I might still look through them to see if I want any of them. 4. The Amiibos for Ryu, Roy, and ROB with Famicom colors will be released on March 16, 2016. Corrin, Bayonetta, and Cloud will also get Amiibos, but no date for their release was revealed. 5. The DLC released for Smash Bros. in February will be last content released for the game. Overall, I'm excited that we are getting characters from different games in Smash Bros. I wish we had gotten another character from Xenoblade Chronicles (Melia in particular), but I'm not going to complain about what was given to us. Corrin looks like he/she will be a really fun character to use, and Bayonetta looks to be an interesting character as well. What do you guys think of the info revealed today?
  3. And by that I mean I bought Xenoblade X the other day and have been playing it nonstop since 10 am this morning, so far things I can say about it. Visuals: Good LORD this game is gorgeous and I haven't even left the first part of the planet yet, enemy design is pretty sweet the giant dinosaur type enemies being my favorite even though they are around 50 levels higher than me so I don't really care to hang around them for too long. Human models are very anime and while most work Lin's face really bothers me. Combat: Pretty much the same as in Xenoblade Chronicles but with some added features, one of which Soul Voice I've yet to figure out how it works but oh well It'll happen eventually. Skells: I WANT 20 OF THEM ALL MINE AND NOT TO SHARE I LOVE THESE THINGS AND HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN ONE YET! Story: Seems pretty straightforward so far; Earth gets rekt, humans escape, some die, and some crash land on Mira, hoping that it gets more into possible lore of the planet and not strictly about rescuing humans(I doubt it will just be rescuing humans but still looking forward to the later bits of it). Ect: The whole 8 divisions of BLADE is a pretty interesting idea so that you can get perks for different types of quests and objectives, curious to see how it plans to reward you with them. Started off with prospector to get that nice defense buff and whatever else is in store. TL;DR Really looking forward to how the entirety plays out which will make me about as active as a dead sloth.
  4. Out of the blue, I started thinking about the now defunct LEGO MMO LEGO Universe. And the more I think about, the more disappointing it seems that it got closed and that it was a MMO. I think that game could have worked, with a longer life, if it were not a MMO but rather a 4-player Co-op somewhat open-world LEGO game, with or without online capabilities. That is pretty much the maximum amount of people you could go into the minigames/psuedobossfights with. Also: no subscription fee - because it would no longer be an MMO. I think that was one of the things that killed the game before it started. Instead, a one-time purchase. Maybe some things would have to be reworked, but the game didn't really seem to ever need more than 4 players doing something at once. There are a few things about LEGO Universe that weren't fixed that really should've, IMO. If any of you played it in the latter half of its life after launch, you'll know that the game's balance went completely out of the window. The game had four factions with three 'sub-classes' (initially two) and in at the start of this second half, the first eight sub-classes got these things called 'valiant weapons'. For the most part, they were decent and balanced well enough. And then there's the Chainsaw Gun thing one of them had that was pretty much infinite and did far more rapid damage than anything else in the game. It took this 'resource' called imagination to use (one of your three stats along with life and armour) but literally everything dropped more than one sphere of imagination, so it was effectively infinite. I think the subclass it also applied to may have been able to regain life or armour via smashing enemies, can't remember rightly if that was it or if it was a different subclass. Actually, while we're at it, let's go over the factions the game had. There was Sentinel, which I believe was one of the two more popular factions in the game and probably had the most well-balanced subclasses in the game. (when you joined a faction you could be any subclass as long as you had the gear for it) These subclasses were the Knight, Samurai, and Space Ranger. Mostly, they were the ones that filled the role of tank. The Knight was the most tanky, the Samurai I believe had a slight bit more damage for a slight bit less tankiness, and the Space Ranger had a bit less tankiness for a bit more crowd control. There was Assembly, the other of the two more popular factions. I think. The Engineer, Summoner, and Inventor. These guys mostly served as the support via extra stuff like turrets and creatures, I think? They weren't really made for the game's combat as their weapons had two-hit combos instead of the usual three. I think they were mostly well-balanced but the Inventor subclass was apparently quite overpowered. There was Venture, not as popular as the other two factions but still reasonably common. These guys were mostly the crowd control. Again, three subclasses, this time the Daredevil, Buccaneer, and Adventurer. The Buccaneer used to have an awesome coat in the beta but they changed it to a much less cool bandolier. Never understood why. The first two subclasses had a unique thing to them until the last four subclasses were added to the game, which was that their weapons were 'two-handed' instead of one separate piece and had four-hit combos of 2-2-3-4 instead of the usual three. Daredevil was one of the more popular subclasses in the game - when I played, I was one. In fact, the Knight, Engineer, and Daredevil were the most popular subclasses in the game, I think? The Adventurer subclass was perhaps the weakest in the game, too. Finally, there was Paradox, the least popular faction. But also undisputedly the most powerful, and that's all thanks to one of its subclasses. Its three subclasses were the Space Marauder, the Sorcerer, and the Shinobi. It was the damage-dealing faction of the game. The Space Marauder was tanky with splash damage, the Sorcerer was high area damage with not much armour, and the Shinobi, well, the Shinobi was also apparently a slight bit overpowered. Then the valiant weapons came and the Space Marauder became a tank that also did very high damage very quickly. Balance kind of went out of the window after that. Those valiant weapons, all of the first eight subclasses got one. The last four - the Space Ranger; Inventor; Adventurer; Shinobi; they never got theirs, really. The valiant weapons pretty much increased the damage of every subclass over that subclass's normal weapons. I can't really remember most of them, but IIRC the Knight and Samurai got spears, the Daredevil got the front half a motorcycle, and the Space Marauder got the chainsaw gun thing I already talked about. Honestly, while I talk about things being a slight bit overpowered, the moto-ripper (the morocycle) was definitely up there as one of the more overpowered weapons as well. An ability it had had the potential to do 35 damage over 5 hits (each hit being 7 damage eat) to a single target, which was huge in LEGO Universe because most weapons only did at a max a combo of 4-4-4 damage, and the only things that beat that were the valiant weapons that did 3-3-3-4/3-3-4-4 damage. Still pretty high. If the game was balanced a bit better, and was tweaked so it was a 4-player co-op experience instead of a MMO, I think it could actually work. The only thing that could have more than 4 players was the racing, which could have up to six, but... it's not really much of a loss. LEGO Universe had about 7 or so major worlds, two of them being hubs, and about an equal amount of smaller worlds, I believe? Avant Gardens Nimbus Station, Gnarled Forest, Forbidden Valley, Nexus Tower, Crux Prime, and the Ninjago World being the big ones, with the Venture Explorer (return included), LEGO Club, the four 'fan' made' worlds, and Pet Cove being the smaller ones. There's also the 'property' worlds. Not much for a MMO considering how small the earlier maps were, but maybe big enough for a co-op four player game? I could see it working. The minigames the game had work well with four players - the survival minigames, the racing, the battle for nimbus station... maybe not the shooting gallery. Maybe that'd have to be redone a bit. The 'psuedo' bosses that were in their own thing would work since they also required four people (mostly enemy dragons). And considering I'm already talking about LEGO Universe, and since the game doesn't really exist, I may as talk about the alpha I played close to... six years ago now? Wow. Well, whatever NDA I had to adhere to is probably gone now. So. Right. The Alpha. It might surprise you how little some things changed and how much some other things changed. In the Alpha there were bats on the ceiling of the cave that linked the first area of Avant Gardens to the monument area - brick-built bats on brick-built rocks. They weren't there in the launch version of the game, for some reason I still don't understand. They weren't particularly high-resolution or resource draining. The first 'world', the Venture Explorer? Aside from a few small tweaks and changes, it remained mostly unchanged except for minifig appearances. I guess that would be because it was one of the first worlds. Avant Gardens, the world that also serves as an introduction, well, I think asides from the spider den, it remained mostly unchanged. The Monument area saw a few more changes, but it always had three main paths and remained the most vertically open area in the game for a good long while. But it had more time, so it was less glitchy. Gnarled Forest, the other area in Alpha... it really was quite different in Alpha, but the same. The general look of the world remained the same, but the enemies... they were changed a bit, especially the enemy gorillas, as were the stuff you could build on the ground. I don't think the racing area existed at that point, either? It might have, but it was quite barren. You could also go to the medium/large? sized property for Gnarled Forest at the end of the area, the same medium/large sized property that was never released because the game closed down. Kind of odd getting to see that, considering that the first time I saw it in Alpha was also the last time I and the others I was with at the time would ever see it. Another Gnarled Forest thing: Parrots were all the rage in Alpha. Everybody who was in the Alpha wanted one, and they dropped significantly more than they did in the beta or launch versions of the game. You could also glitch into the Gnarled Forest survival minigame that wasn't finished yet, which is what I and two others did in the last few days of the (month long) alpha. It was significantly glitchier than anything else in the game. Actually, now that I think about, did that survival ever make it into the final game? Strange if it didn't, it was in a good location from what I could tell. Might as well talk about beta as well. In beta, at first, we were limited to the first two worlds. Alpha had both them and Gnarled Forest. Wasn't until April we got Nimbus Station, which I don't think was in the Alpha until the last week... (we also glitched into joining a faction in alpha, something we weren't meant to do. We received placeholders of items that didn't exist yet, I think. Oops. Yes, we did a lot of glitching in the last few days of Alpha. A lot of it. Don't judge us - we were testers. It's what we're meant to do.) This time, in beta, the faction stuff had been made, I think? Still early, though. Should talk about Forbidden Valley, added to beta in May or late April along with a character wipe. Forbidden Valley was by far the glitchiest area in the game, even compared to the others before testing. Imagine elevators going up... through you. Or enemies that got stuck in the ground and in the walls. Or getting stuck at the bottom of a cliff because the bounce pads didn't work. Or not dying when falling because the death barrier didn't exist. That was quite an experience. Later in May, I believe there was the third character wipe and the last one - characters wouldn't be wipe until the end of the beta. The game was approaching its near-;launch state, so I believe they needed us to test the functionality of the rank 2 and 3 faction gear, something I believe that wasn't implemented before. And we did. Not much changed in this period aside from a few small bug fixes - like I said, the game was in its near-launch state. Honestly, I think the game was at its best in that state, too. I decided to test the Sentinel Knight. Let me tell you, from the late beta period to the end, that subclass didn't really change at all. Maybe the game could've worked if it wasn't a MMO. Not sure. What do you think? At least, if you also played LU at any point in its life. Can't imagine that'd be many people.

    FFFO: Thoughts

Well, FFFO just ended. I hope that wasn't as much of a trainwreck as my last game. Might as well post my own thoughts Interesting thing: everybody died at least once. Lasted five nights and four days. Best nights were the ones where 4 or more people died. You all killed my favourite role the first night, the Trickster. Second favourite role was the Wraith, probably because it was the first role I created for the game. Day rounds seemed to go much slower than nights. Day rounds in general didn't really fit the game. When everybody is Mafia it turns out there's not much incentive to vote. Would remove diplomats if I did FFFO again. Similarly, not much use for suspect lists. Spies could be better served by acting as detectives instead of getting a suspect list. Didn't feel that much of a trainwreck to me, but I was the host so of course I'm biased. Fire Mafia and Ice Mafia were the first to go, followed by the Jungle and Water Mafias. After nearly being eliminated the Earth Mafia won the game.
  6. I honestly never wanted to be gay, and I certainly wasn’t keen on discovering I was nonbinary. I knew there was a stigma and I just wanted to be normal. I could have stayed totally closeted, but that wasn’t really sustainable. I’m out now, but instead of just cashing in on attention, I just want to represent myself properly to other people. I mean, crazy as it sounds, on some level it’s possible I’ve always been a regular human being with the same desires and dreams as anyone. Okay, so maybe I’m different, but honestly what two people are the same? It’s really nothing to glorify or hate. I want more people to recognize and acknowledge that. That’s it.
  7. I probably should have made this topic when the show started, but alas, here it is. So what are you thoughts on the show? Do you dislike/like it? What about the current episode? Discuss! I can say I actually enjoyed this mini-series, not as much as Agents of Shield though. I can totally see Marvel making a second season of the show, but probably not in the near future seeing as how season 3 of Agents of Shield is coming on March 3rd. P.S.: I don't expect this topic to last more than a couple days, since double-posting is against the rules. So I'll be making another topic once AOS airs again, and another when the Daredevil Netflix series drops.
  8. First, and foremost, I am loving the theme of the contest and am excited that a MOC I have been building fits the theme perfectly. However, I can definitely see why people would be turned off about the contest. CCBS is not everyones cup of tea, and that's understandable. I'm sure that not everyone has CCBS parts flowing out the wahzoo and some of the entries have been built with a limited amount of parts, like only 2015 sets and the like. CCBS certainly has its limitations, like not being available in all of the colors of G1 like metru blue, or only being available in a few select pieces like metru red, metru green, and the new brown used in some chima sets. I certainly hope that if some people make a character that isn't represented with the right shade or color that they were released or described like, that voters will try to see the source material shine through the MOC. At the end of the contest, I hope that the winning MOC is the entry best suited to the contest. I am looking forward to seeing some really creative reimaginings of old characters.
  9. You go to (insert miscellaneous Lego event here) wearing a Bionicle T-shirt and a (ignorant) Lego spokesperson marches up to you with a microphone. "Hey you there, you're a Bionicle fan! Why should we bring Bionicle back?" What would you say? What would you do?
  10. Another AngleGali sat in a tent, she was meditating on the events of the past few days. Ever since the army of Rakshi had been defeated, the Skrall and Skakdi stopped, she and Onua had remained with the agori and the inhabitants of the Matoran universe to help stabilize the economy. She wondered, though, if they should be doing this. She knew that the destiny of the Toa Nuva had been to awaken the Great Spirit Mata Nui, and now that that was done, she wondered if they should become Turaga now, she knew that the universe needed them, but, well, they could still serve the Matoran, Agori, and others, as Turaga, but not by fighting. She wondered if they were unknowingly doing the beings of Spherus Magna more harm than good by remaining as Toa after their destiny had been fulfilled, though she didn't know how that was possible. Even she wasn't completely sure of how destiny worked, she knew that some beings, for one reason or another, must have died in the past without fulfilling their destiny, and she wasn't sure how that effected the universe-planet, now-and it's inhabitants. Now, she had lived to fulfill her destiny, and she wasn't sure what to do. Gali didn't know if somehow, just by remaining Toa even after Their destiny was complete, they were doing harm to the inhabitants of Spherus Magna. She also now understood that Mata Nui, their great protector, was gone. She knew that now, they had to protect themselves, and for her, a being who had always lived with the knowledge that Mata Nui protected and watched over them, though he had been asleep for the time after their Toa canisters had launched, it was hard. She also knew that the stress of trying to stabilize and organize the new economy on Spherus Magna was effecting her. She wondered if all Toa of water thought the way she did. She quickly decided otherwise, however, realizing that the circumstances were too unique. Gali sighed, she hadn't realized until now what a complex and confusing thing destiny could be. It had always seemed so straightforward to her, the Toa would complete their destiny, Mata Nui would awaken, all would be right in the universe, and the Toa would become Turaga, but now... Gali didn't know what to think, they had awakened Mata Nui alright, but at the same time they had given Makuta ultimate power, then Makuta had died, the universe had been evacuated, and the team was split apart; Gali and Onua were helping with the new economy, Tahu was off commanding his army of Toa, Takanuva was with him, Kopaka and Pohatu were fugitive hunting, and Lewa, Lewa had gone missing back before the battle that ended with Spherus Magna's reformation. Onua stepped into the tent. "Gali, Ackar and Raanu want to have another conference with us about laws." "Alright," Gali sighed, "I'll be there in a minute." "Ok," Onua replied, the turned and left the tent. Gali thought for a moment about Raanu and Ackar. Raanu, the strong hearted agori with a fierce love for his people and stiff determination to do what was best for them. Ackar, the old Glatorian with an undeterred care for his people and who protected them with the best he had in him, and tried to keep them safe in all situations. Gali knew that she must leave for the conference. She sighed one more time as she stood, then walked out of the tent.____________________________________________________________________________________Did you enjoy it? Did you not? Was it good? Was it bad? Why? Feedback is greatly appreciated, and thank you for reading.
  11. Title pretty much says all. What did Steve Jobs mean to you? He had to have effected you in some way, I mean without him computers wouldn't have a GUI most likely, or if they did it would be years behind. --- As for me... I've read biographies on Mr. Job's life and philosophies and it has touched me and has help create goals I have for my future. I will deeply miss hi,m and his visions about people and technology.
  12. So Swert and I were chatting online, and somehow we got talking about Power Rangers, which evolved to us talking about which Toa would fit into specific Ranger roles. So we constructed a list for you to see. Power Ranger -- Toa Nuva -- Toa Inika White Ranger -- Takanuva -- Matoro Black Ranger -- Onua -- Nuparu Yellow Ranger -- Gali -- Hewkii Blue Ranger -- Kopaka -- Kongu Pink Ranger -- Tahu-- Hahli Red Ranger -- Pohatu -- Jaller Non-existent Ranger -- Lewa -- Macku Zordon -- Vakama -- Axonn Alpha -- Random Ta-Matoran Guard -- Piruk Obviously, some characters fit in better than others, like Nuparu and Takanuva. Others needed some reshuffling. Tahu, for example, has the only pink pieces ever released in Bionicle; trans pink eyes, so he's the pink ranger. Gali and Kopaka have yellow and blue eyes, so they're the yellow and blue rangers respectively. Hahli fits the mentality of the pink ranger better, and then Kongu can fill in the blue ranger spot because the set of rangers we're basing this off (second season / first movie) didn't have a green one. Also, since there were only ever six rangers and never seven, Lewa gets kicked off the team. (And we didn't consider any of the other seasons, since we never watched those ) (Also, tried to post this entry multiple times but the board eated it up, so here's hoping this one gets through)
  13. Have I posted about my thoughts on the 4th and 5th series of collectible minifigures? (Well, I know I have to some friends, but in this blog?) Might grab himSurfer girl: I need female figs, and she also comes with a good hair pieceGeisha: see above Hazmat Guy: Also a predicted popular one, but I still want him.Frankenstein: I need another good monster. Series 5 Radio Girl: Well, I want more female figs, plus a useful torso and hairExplorer girl: see aboveCleopatra: see aboveCave Girl: see above... er, actually, I could do without this oneMonster suit guy: So want. And then I can have Godzilla vs King Kong played out by minifigures!!Dwarf: I don't have one yet, so this wouldn't be a bad grab.Sherlock Holmes: Oh my, so much WANT. But now we need a Watson. Boxer: A predicted popular one, but I don't want it THAT badly.Lumberjack: Needed only for that Monty Python song. Not commenting on Series 3 because, honestly, I have most of them already.

    2010 In Review

Meh. 2010 was not a good year for me, academically, financially, physiologically. It's had some bright spots, but a lot of 2010 was not great. (And it doesn't help that I'm a pessimist and a downer, so ha) Oh the other hand, I did well in Lego this year (again, see "not a good year financially"). Instead of some heartfelt (and depressing) speech about how bad this year was and / or how I will make next year fabulous, I'll list of the sets I purchased. That is what brought me true happiness this year. Angler Attack (Atlantis) Army Men on Patrol (Toy Story) All Six Bionicle Stars (Bionicle... duh) Big Chill (Ben 10) Collectible Minifigures Series 1 (7 figs) Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (12 figs) Collectible Minifigures Series 3 (13 figs) Construct-a-Buzz (Toy Story) Corroder (Hero Factory) Cursed Cobra Statue (Pharaoh's Quest) Deep Sea Striker (Atlantis) Desert Attack (Prince of Persia) Farmer (City) Fire Blaster (Power Miners) Freeing Dobby (Harry Potter) Freeze Ray Frenzy (Space Police) Hogwarts Express 3rd Edition (Harry Potter) Humungousaur (Ben 10) Jessie's Round Up (Toy Story) Jimi Stringer (Hero Factory) Knights Showdown (Castle) Magma Mech (Power Miners) Meltdown (Hero Factory) Monster Crab Clash (Atlantis) Natalie Breez (Hero Factory) Outpost Attack (Castle) Prison Carriage Rescue (Castle) Quidditch Match (Harry Potter) Raid VPR (Space Police) Robo Champ Game (Board Games) Scarab Attack (Pharaoh's Quest) Sea Plane (City) Shadow Snapper (Atlantis) Small Car (City) Squidman Escapes (Space Police) The Temple of Doom (Indiana Jones) Thornatus (Bionicle) Tractor (City) Traveler (City) Wizard (Castle) Woody and Buzz to the Rescue (Toy Story) Wreck Raider (Atlantis) Xplode (Hero Factory) But yeah, onto a new year. May it be better than those before it. Now, I have a New Years Eve party to go to, so blog at you later.

    Oh No It's A Dream!

This happens to me every once in a while. I'll be dreaming that I'm back in Colorado (where I grew up). I've wanted to go back to visit for a while, but my travel plans have never quite followed through. So then I dream that I'm back there, and one of the first things I always think is "Oh man, I've been wanting to come back here for so long, and at least it's not a dream this time." Then somewhere down the line it's like, "Waiiiit... this is a dream. Curses!" This wouldn't be so weird if it didn't keep happening every time my dreams take me there. My subconscious is weird. Or it hates me. And yes, I can talk about dreams because this is my blog. And here's a philosophical question; how can you tell that this reality you experience is not just another dream? Answer: if it was my dream it wouldn't have this stupid philosophy questions in it!
  16. That's how I end all formal letters / emails I write. I consider most of my writing to be a major inconvienence to those I write to, so i always try to show graditude that they took time out of their busy day to read my note. Except for that note I sent to the malicious loan shark. That just ended with "Bugger off." Also gave in to my bad habit and bought more Series 3 minifigs. (Seriously, not only did they have them, but they had restocked!) I got a fisherman (haha, the rare one indeed) and a baseball player for myself. I also got a hula girl to give to my sister as a present. And I got a few for some other friends (and I won't tell them what I THINK I got them) BUT I left plenty behind... including a few rappers, another hula girl, plenty of space aliens and pirates, and a couple tenis players, chieftans, and mummies. I gave up on the dots... I just felt my way through, and just used the dots to confirm once I got home. (Was still sketchy about the fisherman's) I felt quite a few distinct figs, but strangly I did not discover any disctint Sumo wrestlers (which is fine by me) and, sadly, no snowboarders or samari.

    Careers

There are so many things I'd love to make a career. Unfortunately, I suck at all of them. This message brought to you by harsh reality.

    Story Sence

I really shouldn't be thinking of my personal writing when I have homework to do... but oh well. 1) I was thinking about the major premise for one of my stories that I wrote a while ago. (Like, I rewrote it a year ago and came up with the original way back in 03). Anyway, it was these kids getting trapped in a virtual game, where I then got to break all sorts of rules (like the laws of physics) and such. But how did they get there? Unlike similiar shows, where they're strapped into some machine and it's all "taking place in their mind" I had the big computer "digitalize their matter" so that they didn't exist in reality, but just in the computer. But, wait wait wait! How is that possible? Well, simple, really. Their matter just got converted to electrical energy which went into a massive computer that had the capacity to run quick enough to not only recreate the person but also to create an environment around them. And it's possible to convert matter to pure energy... we just can't do it very well. So yay for scientific advancements in my stories. 2) I've written (or, rather, started) a few epics based on the same characters getting sucked in a wormhole, running around in this parallel universe, and then returning home. But they're all independent of each other. But do they need to be? Instead of returning home at the end, why don't I just shove them into the next universe, creating a whole miniseries! Which is totally possible, since I need to rewrite half of these anyway. Heck, one of the ideas was even to incorporate them into the Bionicle universe! Buuuuuuuuut, coming up with cool ideas is one thing; sitting down and writing them and turning them into comprehensible stories is quite another.

    That Facts About E W

He is a liar and a thief. When he said he was out of ammo, I came out of hiding and he still had some and shot me. When I went to collect the fallen ammo, he stole my Midak blasters. He is not to be trusted in a war of shooting Bionicle collectables at one another. He also has better aim. >.<
  20. I am so behind on so many things BZP-wise that its scary that I'm not being beaten with clubs in multiple directions. And it's going to get worst. I will be starting school soon, full time, while also continuing to go to work, also full time. Forget BZP, I'm gonna have trouble fitting sleep into my day. (And I like my sleep) Anyway, in a massive cleansing of my room (where most of my stuff was either thrown away or put into hard-to-access boxes) I came across the old Bionicle Quest for Makuta board game. (Like, from 2001) BZP did a review on it once. The board is built piece by piece out of sections of Mata-Nui (the island) and the players represent a Toa and cross the board searching for masks, keys, and Turaga to give them more power, fighting Rahi along the way and eventually facing off against Makuta. I remembered that the game was a little kiddy and was based off the first draft of the Bionicle storyline (AKA, the Toa were all different ages) But, gosh, it was really fun to play again. It gives you the whole quest feeling. You build up the board, so it's like you're exploring the island and finding all these different places. And you're looking for masks and Turaga first to help you power up and then, once you've discovered Makuta's lair, key tokens. And there are the Rahi fights... you have to be really careful about them at first, but as you start powering up, you can take on stronger and stronger Rahi until even the mightiest beast is a pushover to you. (Or you overestimate yourself and lose, and have to give up a mask) In the end, this game captures the essence of the 2001 story very well, with the whole searching for masks, fighting evil Rahi, and exploring a new island. This is just another example of why 2001 was a great year in Bionicle. Now to sleep!

    I've Got To

I've got to sign up for classes at the new school. I've got to call the old school and tell them I'm not coming back. I've got to figure out how to work the last two weeks of my summer job because the new school starts earlier. I've got to figure out why my job hasn't paid me my uniform allowance. I've got to rearrange my room so that I can live in it again and not just be a "temporary guest." I've got to put all my stuff in my room perminantly. I've got to keep my room clean. I've got to figure out where I can put my stuff if not in the room that now must remain clean. I've got to get a better sleeping scheduale. I've got to start eating better. I've got to pack for BrickFair. I've got to write that news report. I've got to go work on my contest entry. I've got to call the doctor about my toe, which is hurting again. I've got to consider cutting off the toe and replacing it with a prostetic, because I'm tired of all these problems it has! I've got to change how I live my life and what I do because people don't like how I've been going so I have to do something different, but I better keep up with the commitments I made or else I'll be in even deeper trouble. I've got to go to sleep. I've got to stop worrying and love the bomb. I've got to post a blog entry.

    Reporter Rant

*sigh* And for the record, I was not joking when I said I will review sets that rile up the BZP member group. You thought Big Chill and Toy Story were bad... just wait until I get my hands on something really devastating. ... and I have Smeag on my side. You know he's gonna review the next Pink Box that comes out.

    Female Characters

This isn't a rant against Bionicle female characters. I'm sure there's plenty to rant about, and I probably agree with some of it and not other parts... but I'll leave that for somebody else. Rather, I've come to think about female characters I've written about, in both Bionicle fanfiction and in my other stories. And how I've limited the scope of said characters... Er, before you jump down on me, let me explain. I have come up with a great deal of characters, many male, some female. I've dealt with personalities like jokesters, genius scientists, evil henchmen, egotistical businessmen, and complete fun-loving nut jobs (AKA, Triki from my Bionicle stories). But, for the most part, these varied personalities have all been given to male characters. SO what about my female ones? Well, I've gone for a few damsel in distress ones, and every now and then a stereotypical airhead (it worked well for a minor character ) Mostly, I go for strong, independent female characters, who may not be skilled in various areas, but have their strengths and know when to speak their mind. And even if I've made them the victims before, I've also made them the heroes. (In fact, one of my favorite sequences from this one story involve the female characters getting captured, and the male characters trying to free them. But one the males do free the females, they get surrounded by the bad guys, and its the girls who ultimately save them in the end.) So really, I have nothing against the characters I've made... but I am thinking about varying them in the future. Why not have a female character who's awkward around males? How about a jokester girl, which is a personality I've primarily reserved for the guys. Or rather, an overconfident heroine instead of a hero. The possibilities are endless (well, kinda, my creativity does have a limit, I believe) I can be excused for not coming up with great or realistic female personalities (I'm a young adult male who's single, after all, so I'm obviously not a woman expert. ) But, hey, I can still try to shake things up a bit. Of course, I'll have to overcome the biggest obstacle of all first; start writing more. I can't introduce new characters if I don't start writing new stories. That is all for now.
