This was originally just a random ballpoint pen sketch. Then I decided to colour it; sadly my scanner does not agree well with the paper (it really does look better IRL ), plus the drawing is kind of small. Anyway, the character depicted is just a random Toa of Water, no particular backstory or anything here. Essentially I just felt like drawing some 'classic' Bionicle stuff for once. C:

This was more of a pen test than anything serious, but I think it turned out rather cute. Plus, I can't remember when I last drew a Rahaga (2008/2009?), so... a nameless Rahaga. C: (fun fact: this was drawn on some completely wrong paper, in ballpoint pen, because I was just finished with some university work and so tired - originally I didn't even think it would become an actual drawing, anyway...)

These are all from about a week ago, when I watched LoMN again and realized how far my way of drawing matoran had drifted away from the 'original' influences, so I thought I'd try and re-capture the essence of what I think matoran to look like. Sort of. Those two little ones were drawn directly with the ballpoint pen, with minimal sketching (which you can very much see at the left matoran's left/seen as right leg.) Then I decided to draw Jaller for a warmup. While I am not entirely happy with the colouring, I guess it does look like the character, so it's okay with me. ^^

Since I really need to do more (object) studies as well as practise drawing from life in general, I thought I might as well practise that with some of my Bionicle sets. So, the first two drawings on top were done all methodically and focused. I was actually pleasantly surprised by how they turned out. The bottom one, on the other hand, was done deliberately sketchy, because I wanted to find out whether I was actually capable of doing that or whether it would turn out all awfully. (which it didn't, otherwise I'd hardly have posted it xD) So yeah. Comments? Criticism?

This was part of the concept I had for a Bionicle story based on planet Earth, once a crossover with an obscure cartoon I watched when I was younger. These six people were going to be the new Toa of Earth (the planet, not the element of course) in an almost Power Rangers-type style. See if you can guess what their Element would be? Also, here's Matau as a cat! Well, Matau as a cat thanks to his Kanohi Mahiki. I had a few concepts about the these human Toa having a Turaga: Most of the Turaga have either died, or have been left behind on Spherus Magna, leaving one to migrate to Earth carrying Toa Stones. All six Turaga migrate to Earth disguised as animals, carrying Toa Stones All the Turaga and Matoran migrate to Earth, living on a secluded street in a human city, with a "Mahiki Nuva" hidden somewhere to give them human (or animal) disguises. The Toa Mata/Nuva/Mistika/Phantoka as Turaga (which I drew a couple years ago) migrate to Earth with Toa Stones. I originally had Matau as a beetle but I think cats blend in better in urban environments. One more pic relating to "Toa-on-Earth"; their "morpher"/all-purpose communicator known as the Toa-Comm, formed from the merging of the Toa Stones and the six youths' cellphones. This motorcycle is known as the Toa-Cycle, and it can be augmented with Toa Tools and Kanohi Masks.

Some less Lego-y Rahi... My concept of Bohrok-Va-Kal. I see too many MOCs of Bohrok-Va-Kal looking more like enhanced or beefed up versions of the original Bohrok-Va.This is what I think official set forms of Bohrok-Va-Kal should look like, using the Bohrok-Kal shields as heads, as well as switching up which holds a staff and which has "natural" tools. I couldn't think of replacements for Pahrak, Nuhvok, and Korahk-Va-Kal's tools so I used Pohatu Nuva's "boot", Climbing Claws and shoulder pads instead. Kohrak-Va-Kal is a bit awkward looking due to the nature of the Kohrak-Kal shield head and that I ran out of paper space drawing them, I quite like Lehvak-Va-Kal though..

click thumbnail for full picture, or click here ~403 kB So. Hahli Inika, in a slightly different incarnation this time. Her armour was inspired by real armour, the mask is supposed to be semi-organic, kind of half-fused to her head, as that is how I understood things worked back when I first read about the Toa Inika. I know this drawing has a few issues (e.g. everything below the knees), but I'm still happy with the way it turned out - it's been ages since my last 'proper' Bionicle fanart. Ink pen, coloured pencils.

Once more, what you get is in the title.* =D Today's scribble of a matoran looking kinda sceptical/confused/what-have-you; I was basically just playing around with a mask design I've already used once in the past. Yes, it's sort of a scribble. And kinda wonky D: Drawn with a dark sepia Faber-Castell fineliner. *no, once more isn't referring to that topic from one year ago, I'm just really bad at choosing awesome titles... okay, maybe it is... ^^" Edit: fixed a typo.

Okay, my second attempt with colored pens! Here is a paero player from the kentoku Archipelago. Just some random NPC for the BZPRPG. C&C Appreciated, but please note the "chibi" was intentional, since that's kind of how I view dashi. (Click for larger image.) ~Kughii

^ clickable thumbnail (184 kB) larger image ( 415 kB) Out of all Toa Metru, Nokama has always been my favourite. Possibly due to her design, particularly the mask, which has always had something... alien about it. To me, at least. Apart from that... yay for more Bionicle art? :3 Edit: almost forgot to point out that I really recommend looking at the larger version, as it looks a bit better that way. =3

Illustrated for a jam in the BZPRPG, here is Hogo Noshima* and her loyal retainer Kamari resting in a field. Comments and critique are appreciated as always! ~Kughii (Click for larger/higher quality image.) ________ *Please, just please, don't look at the mangled hand on the right. It was beautiful until I picked up a pen and inked over my pencil for the line-art. ;n;

Well, its been a while since i drew a Bionicle, so i decided to finall draw Kopaka(click on it to see).I gotta say, i probably should've done better in the hatchet shading, i think it did that too quickly...but anyways, i think Kopaka turned out pretty fine! But gee, i actually used a load of stuff, marker, pencil, ballpoint pen for inking, and eraser. I also had so much trouble sketching him....gosh that was such a pain..>.<So...tell me what you think tho, im still kinda expirmenting with trying to draw them my own style, but still trying to make it set-like, since I'm not really that into humanoid bionicle drawings(but people still make incredible art with humanoid bionicles!). So yeah, here it is, and this was kinda an expirmental drawing, with me using marker for the first time, and i finished this one drawing in just one day, unlike others where it took more time to finish.

(as always, clicking the preview pic leads to the real art) This took forever. -.-' But now it's done. I know there must be a ton of drawing mistakes...Done with Staedtler pens (0.1, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7) and a black Faber-Castell pencil (polychromos)Comments/Criticism appreciated.
