  1. So, I was browsing my Karda Nui comics, and I noticed something interesting. On the back of the final 2008 comic, there is a teaser for 2009. It has a desert image with a gigantic robot piece and a smaller being looking at it. The smaller being is Matoro Inika, or at least a perfect lookalike. What the heck? Was there any plans for Matoro beyond his sacrifice, or was this random chance?

  3. I have been up on a bit of a Nostalgia binge recently, and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the Bionicle comics available online? I know the most recent 13 are on the Bionicle website, but that's it. My friend has at least some, and I have a few myself, but I'd like to read every last one, start to finish.
  4. Welcome friends to Ask the Terton, the question based comic series by yours truly with the help of you! You may be asking "what can I do to help with this" well I'm glad you asked (you probably didn't but whatever)! Simply ask Terton a question! Asking Terton a question is simple, just drop me a PM with your question and it shall be answered in a comic form! Your character may even appear with your answer depending on what sort of question it is!And to make this clear to the staff, THIS IS NOT A GAME. THIS IS IDENTICAL TO ASK BLOGS YOU MAY SEE ON THE WEB... really hope you know what I'm talking about...The comicsSleeping on the white plainFloorsMake sure to keep questions clean and enjoy the comics! All of them will be hand drawn too, so that's something you don't see often in BZP comics! I'll also be answering questions from the tumblr version too.I'll have to make a banner for this some time too...

    GIMP 2.8

I love the new GIMP. It's helped a lot with my tablet drawings lately. Speaking of which, I should have a new comic comic out soon for you guys. ...And while we're on the topic of comics, I think I'm gonna quit doing Discombobulated. It's dead anyway. I'm already working on some (hopefully) better grade comics as I'm typing this. I might make a random comic for it every once in a while, but I just don't know what to do with it anymore... :/ Anyways, I hope you guys will like what I have coming up for ya'. I've been working real hard on it. -

COMICS CONTEST ENTRY:A Dark Deed1 | 2 | 3 | 4Full comic(>9MB, >15Kpx long)---EVERYTHING ELSE:Part of the International Comic ContinuityWelcome to TavKorp! We're not entirely sure what we've been bringing you, but we can assure you we've been bringing this kind of stuff to you since 2008!(I say "we" because that sounds like something a company would say, and if you couldn't tell from the title, this is kind of a pretense company I've got going here. I'll go ahead and use "I" from now on.)If you're someone who likes to read things in chronological order, you might want to start way back with my first series, VakamaTK's Comics, which can be found in the archive."Sweet! Seeing a new series from the first comic maker I ever read is definitely quite nostalgic. I'm definitely liking this."-Shadonix"Room with a Mahi is probably your most original work to date. It's thoroughly entertaining, and it has an interesting blend of reality and fantasy that keeps things interesting."-Nuparurocks"Tav, that was the best comic. Of all time."-Gavla"Now, this... this is the very definition of 'boss'. http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.png"-Dlakii"Words fail me to describe that level of epicness..."-Kahinuva"Nice job with the PowerPoint drawings. http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.png Looks very pro."-Darcsyde"I'm starting to like this series.Guess this is more proof I need to start lurking around the comics forum more often. 9. Didn't know where else to put this so what the heck? Anyway, as any member on here who frequents the comics section of the artwork section of BZP's creative outlet knows that for the most part, sprite comics dominate the comics section for the most part. However, among the uncharted waters lies a few hand drawn comics such as kakaru's "nathan8472's banner shop", taka nuvia's "A slightly different tale", my very own hand drawn comic "Bionicle Manga", etc. While sprite comics obviously have their place here in the BZP community, i think hand drawn comics also have a niche as well. Sure, you don't see many of the latter, but considering the mere fact that some of them actually have replies which in turn are mostly coupled with positive feedback( most hand drawn comics ive seen on here in the past have had lukewarm reception), I believe hand drawn comics can be just as good if not better than sprite comics. Anyway, I want to hear y'alls two cents. Which you do prefer or think is better in some ways than the other, Sprite comics or hand drawn comics?

  11. Today was Free Comic Book Day! (Sorry for telling you so late, but maybe your local comic shop is still open and has some good stuff left.) I picked up a Serenity/Star Wars flip-cover comic and a preview of The Hypernaturals. And got an extra DC New 52 comic which preluded the Earth 2 #1 I picked up today (along with World's Finest). And I really want to keep reading those! Oh and an X-Men comic. I also stopped by TRU today. When I called they said they had the Series 7 figs. What I failed to comprehend is that they wouldn't have a nearly full box to sort through. So from about a dozen or so figs I picked out the dark knight, rocker chick and space marine. Which is what I wanted. But I also want at least another spacer, an Aztec, and a bagpiper (for a friend). But I live near a TRU at home, when I'll have a car. Good day, except for the terrible game of Risk. Oh well. -CF

    Yeah...

Yeah... it's probably safe to say SK Inn probably won't be coming back. Sorry guys. I had a pretty good start but BZPower's downtime and my own life kind of took me away from it. School may or may not keep me too busy for it later. If not, we'll see. Regardless you all saw where the story was going anyway. Burns and Sukid were going to meet up and start the hotel together. Not that I'm totally gone from bzp of course, I'll be back every now and then, and if Dark wants to continue the movie after all this time I'm definitely on board.
  13. Pondering... Astonishing X-Men (Whedon) issues 1 and 2 (I have 3-8) or Astonishing X-Men trade paper backs volumes 1 and 2 (collection of issues 1-12) for the same price. The obvious answer is the trade papers. I've been wanting those for a while anyway. But I want to complete the collection of having the full story arc "Gifted" in comic form since I have the latter 2/3rds of it, don't I? Granted, they'll never be read because I'd have the trade papers to read and loan out. I should buy the trade papers now and the single issues later. Considering their age and their price currently, they can't be worth immensely more later, can they? -CF

  16. Welcome to the Comics forum! These are the rules and guidelines of the Comics forum. As you may have noticed, this topic is a copy of Pohuaki's forum guidelines with some changes (colored green).ChangesThere have been two major changes to the artwork forums over the forum upgrade. Those are... [*]Both Bionicle and LEGO material can be posted in the Comics forum. The artwork forums are no longer Bionicle-exclusive, so any LEGO-related comics should be posted here. Non-LEGO comics should still be posted in Completely Off Topic.[*]Music and movies have their own forum. BZPower now has a Music and Movies forum. Movies that would previously be posted in the Comics forum now belong there.[*]There is no revival limit in the Comics forum. The reasoning behind this is that comics are often ongoing stories, like those in the Library. Rules Overview (the short version of the rules)...[*]BZPower rules apply here. In particular, please don't spam and don't flame. Your posts should be on topic and add something to the discussion, and any criticism should be constructive. Also, no first-to-post posts, no start-of-page celebrations, and no leet. An exception to the BZP rules is that topic starters and co-authors may double post when posting new material.[*]All topics in this forum should present LEGO related comics. More precisely, your own LEGO related comics, not something that you found on Brickshelf.[*]Some topics featuring your own original comics are not allowed. Examples of these topics include teasers and games (RPG, voting on outcome, etc.).[*]Many types of topics keep popping up, even though they are not allowed. The most common of these are request topics, "post here" topics, contest topics, project planning topics, help topics, and "I'll post something if I get 'x' replies" topics.[*]When posting topics, please don't flood the forum with your topics, and please don't repost a topic.[*]Don't post inappropriate pictures. Excessive violence, sexual content, and toilet humor are examples of things that are not acceptable, and all rules regarding language on BZP also apply to words used in pictures.[*]Several types of posts are not allowed. These include generic posts, quoting of objectionable material, and posts that attempt to hijack the topic or advertise another topic. Don't make posts that need to be prefaced with an apology or an excuse for the post. Also, don't tell people to post, and don't post telling someone that they broke a rule; just report it.----------------Details (an explanation of the rules)...---------------- [*]BZPower rules apply. Just because a rule isn't specifically listed here doesn't mean that it doesn't apply to this forum.[*]No spam. The posting of comics and specific, non-generic comments regarding posted comics is not spam. Posts without these things are probably spam. Adding these things to posts that are otherwise spam is still spam. Any casual chatting, off-topic discussion, or repeating what has already been said is also spam.[*]No flaming. Any criticism must be constructive. If you don't like something, explain what you don't like about it. Suggestions on what you think would improve it are also acceptable.[*]No first-to-post posts. Any variant on that phrase, including second, third, etc., stating what position your post or reply holds, is not allowed.[*]No start-of-page celebrations. It doesn't matter what page you are on. People have different page settings, and your post may slip as I prune out some of the earlier posts.[*]No leet. Please try to keep your posts in standard English with correct grammar and spelling, and don't use leet.[*]Topic revival is allowed. It is okay to post in topics older than twenty days/a month in the Comics forum.[*]Topic starters and co-authors may double post when posting new material. If a topic starter or a co-author is adding a new comic/chapter/etc., they may double post (triple post, quadruple post, etc.) to add that new material. They may not double post to announce that they will post new material soon, or to say that they will be away for awhile, or for any reason other than to post new material in the topic.----------------[*]Topics in this forum should be about LEGO related comics. All LEGO related comics go here; sprite comics, hand drawn, fumetti, one shot, or whatever, it doesn't matter. Comic related movies should be posted in the Music and Movies forum. If it's non-LEGO, it goes in the Completely Off Topic forum.[*]Post your own comics. Topics are to be of your comics, or comics that you are posting for someone else. "Look what I found on brickshelf" topics are not allowed.----------------[*]Don't post teasers. A teaser is different from a preview in that it contains no real useful information. A teaser is frequently a dark or blurred image, or something sufficiently out of context that you can't really figure out what it is. These usually elicit comments like "Cool! I wonder what is is?" or "when will it be done?"; in other words, spam. A preview contains a completed portion of a project that people can give useful feedback on.[*]No games allowed. Some comics have tried to involve reader participation by essentially illustrating an RPG or having members vote on what will happen. Both of these quickly become spamfests. If you want to create a game in the appropriate forum and make a related comic here, that's OK as long as all game/rules/voting/discussion posts stay out of this forum.----------------[*]No request topics. You may only take requests from people in an approved shop. Otherwise, no requests for what to do next and no requests for guest star appearances, among other things. Anything related to requests (especially guest star requests) must be PMed, not posted.[*]No "post here" topics. Do you want to see other people's comics, movies, etc.? You can put a line in your signature asking people to PM things to you, but don't create a topic about it.[*]No contest topics. Contests may only be started with the permission of the administrators, and are usually run, or at least supervised, by forum leaders.[*]No project planning topics. If you don't have anything to show people, but are just looking for assistance or suggestions or guest stars, don't make a topic about it; put a line about it in your signature. Please make sure that you have something that shows that you've put some work into this; I'm seeing too many pics/"posters" with some words and a single enlarged sprite.[*]No help topics. Help topics go in the Bionicle Artwork II forum, and need moderator approval.[*]No "I'll post something if I get 'x' replies" topics. If you have something to show people, go ahead and post it; don't make a game of it. If you try this, you most likely won't get 'x' replies, because a moderator will close your topic.----------------[*]Don't flood the forum. Everyone wants their topics to be seen, so it gets annoying when someone posts a half dozen new topics blasting them off of the first page. If you have a series of similar things to post, even over a period of several days or a few weeks, please put them in the same topic.[*]Don't repost topics. If a topic didn't do well, let it rest in peace. An exception to this rule is that a topic similar to a dead topic may be created if there is a significant amount of new information to add, such as several new comics for a comics topic that died.----------------[*]Don't post pictures with inappropriate subject matter. Excessive violence, sexual content, and toilet humor are examples of things that are not acceptable.[*]Watch your language in pictures. Any text that shouldn't be in a post on BZP shouldn't be in your comic or picture, either.----------------[*]Don't make generic posts. Please make sure that every post that you make says something specific about the topic. Things like "Wow! That's really good", "Awesome work! I give it a 10 out of 10!" and "I wish I could draw like that! KUTGW!" don't say anything specific about the topic, and could apply to most topics in this forum. Many times, its obvious that the person making the posts hasn't thought about, or even looked at, the subject of the topic - this is a big enough problem that if I can't tell from your post that you looked at the picture(s) that the topic is about, I'll assume that you haven't.[*]Don't quote objectionable material. If material is objectionable, it shouldn't have been posted in the first place. Why would you post it again? All that does is increase the likelyhood of it being seen. Quoting objectionable material in a post may be treated as severely as making the original objectionable post.[*]No topic hijacking. Don't post your own artwork in someone else's topic without their permission. An exception would be if you were trying to suggest a change to what they did, and a visual example would help illustrate that suggestion.[*]No topic advertising. Do not direct people to your topic by posting a link or reference in someone else's topic. You may reference another topic in your post if it is relevent to the current discussion.[*]Don't tell people to post. If they have something to say, they'll post. Otherwise, it's just spam. Many topics in this forum don't get more than 10 replies, and a typical views to posts ratio is about 20 to 1. People see the cluster of topics with lots of replies on the first few pages, and think that topics with over 100 replies are typical; they're not.[*]If you feel the need to place a disclaimer, excuse, or apology before a comment, you probably shouldn't be making the comment. Prefacing a post with something like "no offense...", "I don't mean to flame...", "I'm not whining...", or "sorry to double post..." usually means that you're being offensive, flaming, whining, double posting, or doing something else that's against the rules. Even worse, you know that you're breaking the rules, and are doing it anyway. Just saying that you're not doing something doesn't magically make it so, and apologizing for doing something wrong in advance doesn't make it OK.[*]Report problems, don't post about them. If someone breaks a rule, use the report button. The purpose of reporting is to help the moderators, not to get someone in trouble. You don't have to say much; most of my reports are things like "spam" or "double post." If the problem is in a comic or picture, and there are several in the post, please indicate which comic or picture the problem is in. If the matter is urgent, you could PM a moderator who is currently online. If you don't report it, its unlikely that a moderator will fix it unless they happen to read the topic, in which case they probably would have noticed it anyway, so you're not helping the moderator. In many cases, the person who created the problem won't come back to read your post, so you're not helping them, either. The most likely result of your posting about something like this is that you will waste bandwidth. Even if you're posting something else that is on topic, tossing in a comment about what someone did wrong isn't recommended.

  18. Well, BZPower is back up. The ArtIII forum (I prefer than name to "Comics") is revitalizing itself, old comic makers six months out of practice are returning to their old way of life. However, there are a few comic makers who either have not come back and might never return, or those who have retired and set course to continue with the rest of their lives. This new series, Remembering The Fallen, is meant to pay homage to their memories. And the first person I wish to pay homage to is everyone's favorite yellow female Ragiran: Miraka. Everyone in ArtIII loved Mir. Mir loved everyone in ArtIII. It was a beautiful thing to behold. Miraka was the author of Alternate Reality Inc., which started as a retelling of the events of... I don't know what, but I want to say MNOLG or Mask of Light (correct me if necessary), but turned into a more standard studio comic later. It didn't run for very long (it basically ended during the downtime), but was very well-received during its time. One of the greatest appeals of ARI was the sweet, simple sense of humor it incorporated. While other popular comics would rely on cold, calculated sarcasm (See Nuparurock's Comics), Miraka's humor was always warm, inviting, and non-threatening. Reading ARI would leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling and usually a "d'awwww" on your tongue. Even her sad comics, like when she pulled a fake leaving on us, left me just a little warm. Very sad at the possibility of MirMir leaving, but still warm. Some people say that it usually takes about 3 comics for new comic makers to hit their strides, give or take a comic or two. The only noted exception pre-Mir was the indomitable Kahinuva, who is known for his awesome (and I mean awesome in the true sense of the word) Live, Learn and Lawsuits. Miraka was the first person I can think of who really broke this mold, as her style was loved as soon as she hit ArtIII. It wasn't just her comics either. Miraka always brought a warmness to ArtIII in everything she did. She was one of the great comic makers who would come and give advice to the noobs when they started comics. I still remember when Mir commented on my comic series for the first time. She gave me some good advice, encouraged me and gave me her little "Mira fonz" emote. I never felt so very happy with my comic series. She always would leave encouraging comments to all comic makers she helped. While other comic makers gave "constructive" criticism, she always gave encouragement too. It was the kind of criticism that made you feel really good about your skill in comic making. When Kahi told me that Mir wasn't coming back, I felt terrible. Miraka was one of the bright lights in a comics forum filled with cynics and noobs. I really felt a small part of me die when I heard that. It took me a while to cope. And hearing that one of her reasons was because she felt like she was too badgered by people to make comics, I felt horrible. I mean, what if I was one of those badgers? Miraka was one of my inspirations. She climbed above the majority of comic makers due to her sheer likeability that surrounded her. She was loved everywhere she went, and I wish her the best in normal life. Just know this, Mir, if you ever read this: If you ever do decide to come back, whether to continue ARI or just enjoy our company again, we'll welcome you back with wide open arms. You're always welcome in ArtIII, Mir.

    Twisted

Link to the animated header I will get this fixed I promise It's been a while, hasn't it? Almost a year since the end of =Shadix's Comics= and a very long downtime on BZP's part. But now I bring you Twisted, a completely new type of series, with a fresh storyline, powerful characters, and a very different style of graphics. Prepare for this series, with hopefully weekly updates. Prologue: Part one Prologue: Part two Twisted IRL: Computer Issues The characters are currently as follows:• Shadix• Thylon• Twilight (Kyori)• Ehthak• Lord Oblivion• SoxiaWant to be a character? Don't worry, you're not out of luck. At some point in the middle, I will accept another member or two. Be sure to keep an eye on the topic to see when that is.Basic credits included in the title sequence. More specific credits will come when I use them.No awards yet, but we're still fresh and I don't fear we'll go empty handed.Disclaimer: For all of you XRM haters who have come to just nitpick at me, please, save yourself the time. I'm not changing kits. If you have real, worthwhile C&C, then you're welcome in. Disclaimer: This comic series does not follow the "don't kill" tradition Bionicle has in place. This is a comic series centered around war, and you will see people die in the comics.Shadix
  20. So as it seems they aren't coming back, how can I find the old comics and movies? I presume that they would be somewhere on Brickshelf, but I'm not really adept at using that site... Help?
  21. It looks like they're gone for good now.
  22. Hello people! Many of you might not remember me, but I made comics here a while back. In fact, several people made comics that crossed paths at least once or twice! A universe was created, one that housed pop-culture and Bionicle. Whether or not your comics resided in The Comic Land, or were a part of a differentdimension entirely, you were still a part of this universe. This post is to link anyone whom has not heard of the BZPOWER COMICS WIKI, or may have lost the link. If your comics have a great deal of popularity or provide interesting material, please create your own wiki page and expand upon the universe that has already been created!* Without further ado, I present the link to one of the greatest fan-made wiki pages ever created! *Note- I am not the creator of the wiki itself, but am merely advertising it.
  23. ThatOneGuy

    Good Bye

Well, I lost the first version of this post, so that's embarrassing. Sorry for the kind of patchiness (and cheesiness) of this. I guess I'll skip the boring stuff... No I won't. Well, nobody really reads this blog, so I guess there is no point in posting this, but I still want to. As you know, BZP was down for a while, and probably lost many members. I regret to announce that I am one of them. Life came and was all like "Hey, I'm here. Whatevs." I wished there was another way, but there isn't. I had been turned off of Bionicles for a long time now, I only stayed for AWIII. Minutes ago, I opened GIMP, intending to create a comic, but I just didn't feel it. I had moved on. I realized that I could do more, but I had to let go of BZP. I had stopped creating hastily made comics with cheap punchlines, and started creating (my version of) art. Over the downtime, I had been gone for a month, studied for a test out exam, did not pass the exam, and worked on a huge project. School started, and I got a role in a play. This whole time I was telling myself that I would start the comics up again, though somewhere I knew I wouldn't. Over the downtime, there were laughs had, many many many many tears cried, and many things thrown in anger. NONE of them, had to do with BZP. As I said, I had moved on. While I haven't achieved any of my goals, such as becoming a well known, prominent member that everyone knows and likes, starting dailies, and Becoming the comic maker everyone knows. I'm okay with that. So, before I go, I would like to thank some people, well, every person. Thank you BZP. Thank you the people I knew, and the people I didn't. Thank you the few that looked up to me, and the many I looked up to. Thank you to the comic makers who had put up with my petering and noobieness, and thank you to the couple of brand new comic makers that asked me for help. Thank you to JMSOG for being a friend in real life, and BZP. Thank you to Nuparurocks, for being the one that had to put up with the most of my pesky noobishness. Thank you to King Joe for being the first admirer of my comics. You may see me in the Artwork forums from time to time. If you do, PM me, and I'll tell you a story. Not of the "Good Ol' Days", but a story of a boy, who found a distraction from the real world, discovered a talent, and then moved on to bigger and better things. My biggest fear in life has been to never be remembered. So I say, with all of the ego I possess: Please, remember me. Not as the comic maker that left, not as the annoying noob, but as ThatOneGuy. ThatOneGuy who let go. ThatOneGuy who accepted life. So, as much as I hate to say this: Good bye BZP. This has been ThatOneGuy, Just Thought You Should Know.
  24. Well here we are again. It's always such a pleasure. Remember when you crashed on me twice? But yeah, hey everybody. I'm still alive and all. I'm actually quite surprised, by now I had convinced myself that BZP was never coming back. Shows what I know, eh? Unfortunately I've gotten a grand total of one SK Inn comic done during the downtime. With BZP's downtime I lost the majority of my audience. Combine that with college and incessant TF2 and you have negative motivation right there. Once I get one more comic done, I'll put the thread back up. ... you know, at first I kind of thought BZP's downtime ruined everything, since SK Inn, once it got passed the introductory phase, was going to have a summer theme... but hey, next summer will be here before you know it. The introduction plot could very well take place late-fall-early-winter instead of February. That just gives me more time to develop it rather than crunch it down to meet the summer deadline. Just be aware, the next couple of weeks are going to be pretty busy for me. I'm sure it's absolutely nothing compared to the other college students on BZP, but for a spoiled guy like me who's used to having oodles of free time it's busy. Doing a research paper on cloning along with algebra. So the old two-comics-per-week plan I had just got even less feasible. But I'll get things done at some point, mark my word! Oh, one more thing. Over the downtime I came up with a new series idea. ... no, not the one I talked about before. A third one. I originally invisioned it as a silly little fan-sequel to the real Bionicle, but I'm thinking about making it ICC instead, seeing as SK Inn, while it takes place in both universes, was pretty obviously developed with Dark and I's continuity in mind and I don't want to cheap out too much. But we'll see... we'll see. But yeah, as soon as SK Inn moves passed this first story arc I might put more focus on that. It should be a blast no matter what continuity it takes place in. I think it'll be much more enjoyable for people only vaguely familiar with Bionicle and not all that familiar with BZPower at all.

    So, I'm Back

So, I had this big speech prepared for me to stick in my comic topic when I reposted it, but I kind of wrote it months ago when I thought BZP would come back at the end of July, so most of it is obsolete. So I'll basically just go with the same thing but update it here and there. Well, BZPower is back. And you know what that means. I have to keep my topic from dying once more. Anyway, you're probably wondering what I've been up to since BZP's been down. Well, for a little while I was still obsessed with Pokemon--that ended on May 7, meaning the obsession exactly lasted two months. So what did I do then? Well, I focused back on school. Then school got out, and I decided to finish up my epic. I finished it at the beginning of July, and I've released most of it on this one place. It'll start to go up on BZP tomorrow. I've considered releasing new chapters every other day when possible. Excluding Sundays; don't ask why because that's probably going to take us into religious discussion. Then I thought I might as well get back to comics; I hadn't worked on them at all since February. So then I made eighteen comics in a few weeks. I've got a big multi-part filler about Pokemon obsessions and whatnot, and--since RWAM was only intended to go until the end of Tavakai: The Movie, which shouldn't be too far off--RWAM will be concluded in an abridged version with Tavakai narrating most of it. There's also three unreleased Noob War comics. I made a huge stockpile. I'm planning on releasing them every other day when possible; the day that there isn't a movie. Excluding Sundays. Oh, and originally I had huge plans for what I'd make after the movie/epic. But over time I've become disinterested in Bionicle and decided it's probably better if I focus on making original comics. I'm putting as much of my work into putting that together as possible. Well, as for now, to merit reposting of my topic (since I wasn't sure whether that was necessary and had a spare comic lying around), I've got the last movie comic, which I made in February and saved in case of a topic-life emergency. Please excuse the lack of unique panels. I spent lots and lots of time drawing masks and recoloring closeups for that one panel. I think I can be excused for being too lazy to pose them more than once. Link to comic topic
