  1. UPDATE: ALL QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this finished guide to attaching almost any Bionicle/HF head to any Bionicle/HF torso! How to attach (almost) any Bionicle head to any Bionicle/HF torso Mata heads to... Metru or Inika torsos: Use a 3-stud-long axle with a Technic ball (preferably the type with the axle hole on only one side). Alternate Inika torso solution if you need the head to stick out a bit more. This removes compatibility with axle masks, though.CCBS torsos: Best answer. Alternative solution that requires no building on torso. To prevent the head from coming off the T-nozzle, you can use a 2-stud-long axle & this piece in place of the T-nozzle. (Stick the axle in the eyestalk.) This makes the head a bit taller, though.Metru heads to... Mata torsos: Best answer.CCBS torsos: Best answer. Alternative CCBS solution for hunchbacks or long-chin masks.Inika heads to... Mata torsos: Attach a 2-stud-long axle & this piece to the Inika head piece. Then replace the Mata torso's neck axle with a Technic ball + 2-stud-long axle. Alternatively, you can use attach the Inika head piece to a BA head with a 2-stud-long axle if you don't have any of the special Y-joint-similar connector. If you happen to lack any of those as well,CCBS torsos: Attach a 2-stud-long axle & this piece to the Inika head piece. Alternatively, you can use attach the Inika head piece to a BA head with a 2-stud-long axle if you don't have any of the special Y-joint-similar connector.Av-Matoran, Glatorian, 2013 Brain Attack, or 2015 Reboot heads to... Mata torsos: Just use a 2-stud-length axle & a Technic ball.Metru or Inika torsos: Just swap out the Y-joint with a standard Glatorian neck. Questions you may have involving masks, heads, and torsos: Can any of the Metru eyestalks fit in the new 2015 heads or vice versa? Nope. What does an Inika head piece look like when attached to an Av-Matoran, Glatorian, or 2013 Brain Attack head? It looks ridiculous, except on the Brain Attack head, which looks ok when attached to the front of the head. Here are some pictures: On an Av-Matoran head. (with mask.) On a Glatorian head. (with mask.) On a 2013 BA head. (on top) (on front) Are the 2015 masks backwards compatible? How about vice-versa? Yes, the 2015 masks can attach to the axle holes on the sides of a 2013 Brain Attack head. It can also attach to Y-joints and other things with axle or minifigure bar holes on each side of a 2-stud-long area. It cannot attach to a Glatorian head without looking silly (because of the small bumps next to the axle holes that are on the sides of the head's jaw), and it cannot attach to an Av-Matoran head. OLD POST: I've been wondering lately about whether or not certain connections are possible, and also what is the best way of attaching this head to that torso. So I need your help in answering these questions... The question list will be constantly updated as questions are answered. If a question has been answered but you have a better solution than the one provided, please let me know! I'm on a quest to discover the absolute best techniques for Bionicle & HF cross-compatibility. Fully answered questions shown in grey. Questions that could still possibly have a better answer are shown in dark blue. Can an Inika head be attached to the a 2013 Brain Attack head? Also, can it be attached to an Av-Matoran head or Glatorian head? How does it look on both? ANSWERED: It can, but it only looks decent on the Brain Attack head. Is there any way to attach the 2015 masks to an Av-Matoran head? ANSWERED: Nope. What is the best way to attach a Mata head to an Inika & CCBS torso? Best answer for Inika torso: use a 3-stud-long axle with a Technic ball (preferably the type with the axle hole on only one side). Alternate Inika torso solution if you need the head to stick out a bit more. This removes compatibility with axle masks, though. Best answer for CCBS so far. Alternative CCBS solution that requires no building on torso. To prevent the head from coming off the T-nozzle, you can use a 2-stud-long axle & this piece in place of the T-nozzle. (Stick the axle in the eyestalk.) This makes the head a bit taller, though. If you have a better solution, please let me know! What is the best way to attach a Metru head to a Mata & CCBS torso? Best answer for Mata torsos so far. Best answer for CCBS so far. Alternative CCBS solution for hunchbacks or long-chin masks. Do you have a better solution? What is the best way to attach an Inika head to a Mata & CCBS torso? ANSWERED: For CCBS, attach a 2-stud-long axle & this piece to the Inika head. For Mata torsos, use the same technique for the Inika head and use a 2-stud-long axle & Technic ball on the Mata torso in place of the neck axle. What is the best way to attach a 2013 Brain Attack head to a Mata & Inika torso? ANSWERED: For Mata torsos, just use a 2-stud-length axle & a Technic ball. For Inika torsos, just swap out the Y-joint with a standard Glatorian neck. Can either of the old Metru eyestalks fit in the new heads? ANSWERED: Nope. Can the new 2015 eyestalks fit in the Metru head? ANSWERED: Nope. Can someone show me a picture of an Inika head piece attached to the top of a Brain Attack, Glatorian, and Av-Matoran head? ANSWERED: On an Av-Matoran head. (with mask.) On a Glatorian head. (with mask.) On a 2013 BA head. (on top) (on front)
  2. So, if you've noticed, the Masks of Power are rather bland. There's a Mask of Fire, Water, Jungle, etc. etc. But then there's the Masks of Creation and Control, which aren't elemental. So, here's my theory. Other teams of Masters have different mask abilities. The Protectors all probably have the "noble" form of a certain type of mask (perhaps this gen's equivalent of a Kanohi Hau) and the Golden Masks each contain different mask abilities akin to those of the original masks (though I'd assume that the Golden Jungle and Golden Water masks don't have levitation and water-breathing, since Lewa can already fly and I'll bet you that Gali can already breathe underwater) When Wave 2 comes out with whatever new Toa we'll be seeing, they'll probably go back to whatever mask they were using in Gen 1. I suppose the only reason to have an elemental mask is to enhance your natural powers. What do you think?
  3. I have some things to sell as I need money for a project I'm working on. Big orders as priority. I'm in Canada, but I'll ship in the United States as well. Here is the list of what I have : Green - On hold This - Sold Masks (2 $ each) Blue Kaukau (x2) Blue Miru Blue Hau Blue Akaku Blue Kakama Blue Pakari (x2) Red Pakari (x2) Red Kaukau Red Hau Red Kakama (x2) Brown Miru (x2) Orange Kaukau Brown Hau Brown Akaku Brown Pakari Black Miru (x2) Black Kaukau Black Hau Black Pakari (x2) Black Kakama (x2) Orange Pakari White Miru White Kaukau (x2) White Akaku White Pakari (x2) Green Kakama Green Kaukau Silver Kaukau (x2) Silver Hau (x3) 1 - 2 - 3 Silver Pakari Silver Miru Silver Kakama Silver Akaku Orange Mahiki (x3) Orange Huna Orange Matatu Orange Ruru Orange Komau Tan Komau Tan Mahiki Tan Matatu (x2) Light Grey Huna Dark Grey Komau (x3) Dark Grey Ruru (x2) Dark Grey Matatu (x2) Light Blue Rau (x2) Light Blue Matatu Light Blue Huna Light Blue Ruru Lime Green Mahiki Lime Green Huna Lime Green Rau (x2) Lime Green Ruru Gold Kaukau Gold Akaku Gold Hau Gold Kakama (x2) VMKK (Not sure if I want to sell them, and I knkw the price is expensive, but if someone is ready to pay that much, I may let them go) VMKK Vu - 225$ VMKK Yo - 225$ VMKK Za - 225$ If you want to negociate, hit me with an offer.
  4. I am selling roughly 70 pounds of Bionicles (I stood on the scale to figure it out). Short story? I grew up playing/collecting/trading/etc. but I haven't played with them in years and I do not have time to individually list them on Bricklink and go to the post office every other day. There are roughly 100 figures in this lot. I have instructions (as pictured) but that isn't a good gauge for the lot. For example, I do not have the gold color piraka mask/spine. I traded it when I was 14 with a friend for who knows what. Also, there are at least 2 Sidoraks in there, but I can't find the instructions. And so on and so on. I got some of the sets via clearance, ebay, bricklink, garage sales, Christmas, begging, prayer, etc. I am 99% sure all of the broken and modified pieces are separated from the lot. I went through to make sure. I am also 99% sure that all of the pieces have been washed at least once (my mom was a germaphobe). I was the kind of kid that liked to build figures and put them on the mantle (no joke). Occasionally I would enter them into our local fair's hobby show, but that is off the point. (Now note, the rubber bands have fallen apart/dissolved due to age) Rare masks, some instructions, good condition, LOTS of pieces, etc.I am looking for $750. Make offers, negotiate, discuss, ask lots of questions, etc.Because of the size of the lot I was planning on covering shipping. I have no idea how high it will be and that will depend on the buyer any way. I am NOT wanting to trade, divide the lot, etc. I am wanting some spending money for my wife this Christmas. $750 might seem steep; however, I grew up with an older brother who ran a bricklink store for years. Because of this I would help package, list, count, price, etc. Through those experiences I got a feel for pricing and $750 is reasonable, not a steal, but reasonable. Also, on ebay a pound of Bionicles seemed to go for about $10 a pound for plane jane pieces, so 70 x $10 of not so plane jane pieces + I'll cover the shipping = my reasoning. lol. Anyways, please ask me questions.
  5. So, the Toa Inika kanohi are known widely for two things. Not being backwards compatible, and scaring small children. but anyway, to the heart of the matter here, I was bored, and decided to re-draw the six Inika Kanohi as they would be if they weren't freaky and rubbery: Some of them are kinda meh, but it's the kind of meh that can't be fixed! (Kinda like the Water Dragon...) (NOTE: these design changes are a subjective opinion/headcanon and do not reflect, represent, or replace the actual canon appearances of these masks in any past, present, or future bionicle storyline.)
  6. I'm relatively optimistic about the reboot. One of the strong points of the new Toa are(with one or two exceptions) the mask designs. However, as we all know by now the masks are not compatible with Gen1 heads. I understand why a change in system might be called for, but I do wish that the new masks could be used for Gen1 Bionicles, and that I could put Gen1 masks on Gen2 toa. So anyway, what are all of your thoughts on the new mack system and it's lack of compatibility?
  7. I have a theory about the new 2015 story, that might explain what the Protectors are protecting, why the Toa need those golden masks, and why Okoto has such a kooky look. Based on the promo comic on the back of the Master's boxes, it looks like the Protectors are protecting the masks! But why? Are they expecting the Toa, and keeping the mask warm for them? Maybe, but I have another idea too: Since this new BIONICLE is up front about being "magical" (forged from raw magic and gold, Ekimu?), this idea seems to make sense: The golden masks themselves, just by being in a certain region, change the environment itself! Or at least have a very strong link to it- or are just that powerful. And this would explain the wonky look of Okoto- the elements of the island are somehow influenced by the masks! (but maybe not, since the masks have to be forged from the elements now. Maybe these ones are special though?) This is why the Toa need those masks! From the promo comic, it looks like once they have them they can kick trash. I think that it connects them more deeply to their element (and region), and gives them the full range of their power. Without it, they only have the bare minimum (maybe like a turaga on Mata Nui? or maybe the comparison is just Toa Mata to Nuva in power). Well, what do you think? Any different ideas about Protectors, or what makes the golden masks so special? --------- [like, subscribe, and comment below!]
  8. Seeing as there are about four different versions of all these masks now (and what, six for the hau?), the original six are probably buried somewhere in a far off desert. And it just so happens that I was asked to whip up what they would look like in such a situation. (apologies for the blurriness in some of these) Websites! DeviantArt Bricklink
  9. As the Great Beings created their new robot, they noticed that their creations, the Matoran, needed some object to keep them from falling into a comatose state. Thus the first Kanohi Masks were forged. These great masks powered their creations and many species donned their creations. There was a great demand in the first days and new Matoran being built started to heavily rely on these masks. So Angonce in all of his wisdom, created Ekimu, the Mask Maker. Ekimu forged many masks for Matoran, and Toa, and Makuta, personally handing the owner their new mask. Other species asked for masks of their own. Soon Ekimu was creating more than a thousand masks a day, each as good as the next. His technique was flawless, his craftsmanship unparalleled. Front Pose Finally the Great Beings stopped creating their new people, and the masks were no longer necessary. Ekimu gave his tools to the Matoran so that they could learn the art of mask making, and he vanished. Action Pose But not for long. For soon the Barraki were tearing up the land. His masks that he had given personally to the six warlords were discarded. Then not too long after this, the Makuta discarded their Kanohi gifted to them by Ekimu in favour of the immoral Kanohi forged by their leader, Teridax. Ekimu prided himself on his creations, and he felt a red-hot anger tearing through him. Collecting the Masks It was then that he decided his new destiny: He must take back the masks from those that he did not deem worthy of wearing them. What will Ahkmou do?! Ekimu is graced with great accuracy and X-Ray vision. He can wear two Kanohi on the claws attached to his chest, accessing their unique abilities that he bestowed upon them when he does. The horns on his head can create beams of energy, as well as prevent Kraata and Krana from attaching to him. Gallery (when public) So there we are. My take on the MU alternative of the new character, Ekimu, that came from experimenting with CCBS as well as trying to create unique heads. C&C appreciated.

  11. Time for another batch of painty goodness from your friends at Modalt! This time we have a batch painted at Brickfair VA '14. Thanks to all those folks that came and visited our table there! Apologies for the blurriness of this one. I have done one of these already, but this one has a much better picture of it. This mask I actually painted a while ago, but forgot to take a picture of before I sold it. Luckily the buyer was at Brickfair this year, and allowed me to borrow it a moment for a quick pic. That's all for today, but be sure to check out Modalt Masks on BrickLink and Ebay for sales, and the Modalt Masks DA page for pictures of all the masks I've painted! Update: We now have a dedicated site for the masks as well!
  12. As we all know, Kanohi masks are made from a Kanoka disc of the same power, or a combination of discs. For example, a disk of levitation can be used to create a Miru. Other than the usual powers, kanoka can be infused with elemental powers to create Toa Discs like the one Vakama comes with in his set form. The only elementally-powered Kanohi we know of are the Kraahkan (mask of shadow), the Avohkii (mask of light) and the Garai (mask of gravity). Now my question is: can these Toa Discs be used to create Kanohi with elemental powers?
  13. I've been thinking lately about something that many BIONICLE fans and non-fans alike recognize as part of the theme: its collectible nature. More specifically, the masks, the brains, the slugs, even the disks and spinners many love... or hate. So I come to you with a question. With the possibility of a revived BIONICLE brand on the horizon, what are your thoughts on a true return to form with the revitalization of the beloved collectibles? Do you want to see them back and how prevalent? Or do you never want to suffer the horror of torn boxes and disappointing pulls ever again? Personally, I remain somewhat undecided. I certainly enjoy having a bunch of masks and see the appeal of it, but definitely have some concerns. Primarily over what efforts could be made to prevent a repeat of theft that seemed to plague the mask packs and possible poor distribution of certain items, making them harder to find. Or just simply the struggle of trying to collect them all. But I'm just one person, and that's why I'm here - to see what everyone else thinks. Could it work in today's market? How could it best be accomplished? Please, do share your thoughts. ~|ET|~

  15. So, uh, members of BZPower... I want to ask you questions. About elements. And masks. 1. What are your favourite three elements? 2. Let's say you're a Matoran - which element would prefer you be? 3a. What mask would you wear, and... 3b. What mask power do you like the best? (not necessarily the same answer to both parts) 4a. What elements do you think we saw too much of? 4b. What elements do you think we saw too little of? Bonus question: If BIONICLE returns, would you prefer it to change it from being the same six elements every time a new wave of sets is released? Answering my own questions: 1. Plasma, psionics, air. 2. Plasma. 3a. The Kakama. It's the best looking mask, IMO. It's got a simple design, but not too simple, and looks nice, in addition to having a nice power: speed. 3b. Hard to say... I like the Great Huna's concealment a lot, as well as the Kualsi's power. 4a. Fire. Perhaps air as well. 4b. Plasma, Magnetism, The Green, Gravity. Bonus: Yes.
  16. What actual, complete sets could you make out of the various Bionicle parts tubs released? I know that, for example, 6638 had two Kraata containers, and that 6620 makes a Red Vahki. The list of tubs: 6620 - Ultimate Accessory Set (Red Vahki) 6637 - Ultimate Battle Set (Nuju, Nokama, Red, Green & Blue Vahki) 6638 - Ultimate Creatures Accessory Set (Two Red & Two Blue Vahki, Two Kraata Containers) 8711 - The Ultimate Bionicle Set 8713 - Ultimate Bionicle Accessory Kit (Old little sets like Matoran and Turaga???) 8715 - Bionicle Exclusive Accessories (Vahki???)
  17. Well, considering it has been quite some time since I last uploaded anything, I figured I should inundate you with images now. A couple of armor sets. And a couple that I painted (and sold for the most part) at BrickFair VA 2013. Now these two are pretty much identical, and I couldn't decide which one to post, so I'll let you guys decide which one you like more. This was a pretty big post since I haven't updated for a while, so don't expect anything as big as this in the future. I'm curious though, if you guys wanted to see a particular paint job or simple conversion on a mask, what would it be?
  18. So, I'm not sure where to put this, but here it goes. I'm currently working on a MOC that, storywise, uses an Iden. The problem is, I really hate the Inika heads, and I would prefer to have an eye color rather than green. I have seen people use cloth elements inside, or Nuva shoulderpads, but I would like to know if there is anyone out there that has a particularly clever idea for a new Inika head. I've been messing with it for quite a while now, and I can't find anything that looks quite right.
  19. We know that all Bionicle characters wear masks. If you've ever worn a mask, you know that this limits your eyesight to the sides, kinda like a tunnel. Do Bionicle characters really suffer from this? Such a limitation is never mentioned. If not, how do they overcome it?
  20. Running for a Shooting Star David lost himself among the trees in the night, his dark coat and pants blending in with the black trunk. This was the second time this year that he had become somewhat lost in the woods, the second time that he was running from Jessica and her friends. This, however, was not a warm night on Spring Break, fleeing an unaware house to the shelter of an old, crumbling church on the other side of the wood. These were different trees in a different state, a different season, even a different world at time, with an active pursuit following from the convention center towards an unknown end in the cool winter air. It was the rust-gold mask clinging to his upper face that freed David from his own world, the mask which allowed him to approach conventions as someone other than himself, to go as Elion. Being unleashed as Elion, though, had caused him to dare to stand against Jared, Jessica’s violently protective confidant—protective not only of his friends, but also of his pride—and so now David ran from convention center, darting from darkness to deeper darkness like a wraith as he led Jared and his friend Brandon on the chase through the moonless woods. Elion’s grim smile twisted David’s face as he led his pursuers, toying with them at first but now wholly committed to escaping them. A tree presented itself, and Elion swung David’s body up into the branches with ease, staying close to the trunk to keep the tree from shaking too badly. Through the branches he could see nothing but the beams of Brandon and Jared’s flashlights as they ran some distance apart, searching for the masked offender. Their lights passed by Elion’s tree, and David’s eyes followed them uphill as they moved towards a row of houses set high on the slope. The lights turned back, moved together, and walked back towards the tree. David held his breath, and the passed by, Jared’s swearing floating up alongside Brandon’s conciliatory remark that “the rat probably wasn’t worth it anyway. He ran, and it’s payment enough to make someone turn coward in front of his girl.” David’s fingers tightened on a branch. The “girl” was Diana, self-introduced to him as “Valaina” at first: he’d called himself “Elion” at the time, a she’d picked up the gag and ran with it. As Valaina and Elion, she and David had met a few months ago, and whenever he and Diana could get together they still shared a dance floor in the guise of their Others, but those times were slowly becoming as rare as a passing comet. Looking around in his perch as Jared and Brandon moved further off, David’s eyes settled on those houses uphill. Valaina had told him she lived close to the convention; maybe one of those was hers. He couldn’t leave without making amends. With Jared and Brandon quite a distance off, he slithered out of the tree and began to make his way uphill, flitting among the trees like a ghost. Not feeling ready to be shot, he skirted the properties and made his way around front, looking for the lion’s head knocker that would mark her house. No need to look: Diana was extricating herself from a crowded car three houses away, her own mask pulled up over her hair. The car pulled away, and Elion dashed along the road to the foot of her drive. “Shooting stars and sliver moons,” He sang out the first line just loud enough for her to hear. She paused at the door, turned. Smiling, she pulled her mask back down over her face and sang back, “Disappear, disappear in the night, And safely, softly commune.” A smile spread across Elion’s face, and he touched his mask, bowing to Valaina. She returned a secret salute, pressing two fingers against her throat, and went inside. Elion drew his trench coat tight around David’s spare form, and quietly walked back to the woods. The comet had passed, and all was well.
  21. When watching Legends of Metru Nui for the millionth time, I finally wondered. What in the world are those small creatures helping Vakama out with his mask making? They look like small Bohrok or something.
  22. Introducing a new business in the trade of painted bionicle parts! First off, I'd like to give massive credit and props to Vaal's Forge and Foundry, he's an amazing artist, and he was what inspired us to start making our own custom painted bionicle masks.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I suppose an introduction is in order. This is a joint business, run by Steve the Squid (Mocpages, Flickr, DeviantArt, Bzp) and Mr. Cod (DeviantArt). Mr. Cod has been painting and modifying Warhammer figures for many years now, and I suggested to him that perhaps he could try out what Vaal was doing, since we both shared and interest in Bionicle. Since Cod doesn't have the street cred (yeah, like I do either) or the experience in the fan community (he's not really into it much), that's where I come in. All transactions, advertisings, postings, payments, correspondances, and shipping goes through me. He just started out painting some masks for fun, and we used Brickfair VA as a test run. Since they were hugely popular there (I know some BZPers can attest to that!), we expanded onto bricklink as a store base, but usually worked out orders through email, which is how it'll continue to be.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What do they look like? Here's some previous examples of masks we've made.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------So how do you order? You have two options. You can order previously made masks from our Bricklink Store, and also buy unpainted masks and specify how you want them painted in the comments form. The second option, which I prefer if you're doing a commission, is to email me at modaltmasks@gmail.com. I prefer this, because it's more private that using this thread, and I can get back to you faster.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------How much are they? It depends on what you want. Here's the general price guide for standard masks and armor:(We also offer discounts on larger orders, so ask us if you'd like to order a bunch of stuff!) Regular Paint Job: Cover JUST about everything. $7. Super-Ultra-Epic-Crazy Paint Job: Things like this that are crazy complicated, usually scales. $9. Cuts/Gouges: Like this. Free, but you must have the paint job with it. Combination of Two Masks: $10 Armor: $4 for Nuva chestplates, $3 for anything else. Armor means: Hydruka, Other Hydruka, Carapar Armor, Bohrok Shells, Nuva Shoulders, Bohrok Weapons, and Wings. (Wings are 2 for $3, all other armor besides bohrok shells are 2 for $5.) When armor is painted, you must be very conservative with what pin and axle holes you use, as the pins and axles will wear the paint. For example, if you use the top pinhole of hydruka armor on one moc, you will probably have to use the same hole on another moc so it doesn't show wear. Wearing is not 100% bound to happen, but it's a precaution we recommend. Masks We Don't Have: We just don't have all masks, and for a lot of expensive masks, it doesn't make sense financially for us to have them on hand, like trans-orange kaukaus. So, if you want us to paint something we don't have in our inventory, you have the option of sending us your masks in a bubble mailer, which is just $1.50 through USPS. Return shipping is still required. Now the orders certainly are not limited to this; up till now, we have only been painting the original 12 masks (mata and turaga), because they are made of a harder plastic as you are surely aware, and the paint is unlikely to wear or chip. We've also painted the armor you see above. We'll be exploring other techniques for protecting the paint on other kinds of parts, but until then, you have to watch how you use the parts, if you choose to get parts that are made of the softer plastic.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PaymentWe accept paypal and mail orders. International orders ARE accepted, just know that shipping is probably going to be too much. If you have a custom commission that does not involve the aforementioned prices, such as custom-cut parts or a fully-painted figure, email me and we can work out costs. Just to give you an idea of time, most of our commissions have been one-mask orders, and the time it takes to paint a mask varies, but a whole order, from start to shipping, should take no more than two weeks. School and vacations may affect this, but that's just an idea of how long to expect. Combination masks will take longer.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Conventions I'm an avid convention-goer. I attend and display at Brickfair VA every year, and will be attending Brickfair NH 2013. I will be informally selling our custom masks as mocs, i.e. I will not have a stall, but sell them privately at my booth/area. As a promotion, we offer custom masks at a discounted price at conventions to promote sales, so if you are displaying, or can display proof that you are an active builder on any Lego website, you can buy our masks at $2 off! What a bargain!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parting notes: I've been planning on expanding to BZP for a while now, and today's the day! In the past, our work has been received very highly, so I hope the BZP community will welcome us and give us support! Even if you don't wish to buy a mask, I also hope you'll enjoy seeing Cod's work, and some of the mocs I've made for his masks. One final thing; just know that I, Steve the Squid, am not the painter of the masks, but that Mr. Cod is a very good friend of mine, and we have agreed that I will handle everything except the actual paintin. Just try not to refer to me as the painter, it just bugs me a bit
  23. Hey there everyone! I always had this question about the Metruan's Kanohi. Why are the tops or middle of their Kanohi, tainted with silver paint? The sets that came out have the Kanohi tainted in silver and in some pictures I saw a of couple other matoran from Metru Nui, share the same appearance Does this have something to do with the matoran living or working on Metru Nui? And why does the silver go away when in Mata Nui? Is it because they shrunk? Can someone please clear this up? Edit: BTW sorry if this doesnt belong here, I dont know is this is part of the storyline, or just something the sets had.
  24. Five out of the six barraki (exluding Ehlek) belonged to a species that could wear and use kanohi. My question is: Which kanohi do you think they would have if they chose to wear masks? Which masks would make sence to each character?
  25. I was recently looking through the BS01 Kanohi page and noticed down near the bottom was a link to Other Kanohi, masks that were only shown in the comics that now have powers thanks to mainly Expanded Multiverse, and then canonized by Greg Farshey. But, just above that link on the Kanohi page, there are six pictures of Kanohi shown in the comics that don't have any powers yet. So, I got out my trusty pencils and Sharpie, and threw together some ideas of how those masks might look so we can get a better idea of powers we would like them to have. After we've got a good amount of suggestions, hopefully someone can put these into a poll, and the winners (hopefully, again) will be brought up to Greg by Erebus to be canonized (and probably the second and third choices just to make sure ) Note that I didn't really have sufficient detail to really make anything for these two images, so I just skipped them. If anyone really wants to give it a try (or really wants me to do it), we can try it out. Also note that these masks are by no means the only interpretation of those limited images. Feel free to try your own versions. So, onto the masks. Since none of them have powers or names yet, I'm just going to call them "Masks A-E," in order of appearance on BS01. I really don't like how D turned out, but there was barely enough detail anyways to make a full mask, so I gave it my best shot. I'm still pretty sure that mask and the Mask of Biomechanics are Skakdi heads, and the Matoran shown in the same comic panel are probably slaves or something, but they're still listed as Masks on BS01, so I'll just go wth it. So, now for my power suggestions. I'll also keep a record of ther suggestions here: Mask A: Mask of Facial Hair: (anyone else think it looks like it has a moustache and goatee?)Mask of Softening: This power enables a user to modify the flexibility, elasticity, and hardness of a material for a limited amount of time. Example usages are softening the hard ground you are falling onto to make it safe, or changing an iron bar into a heavy whip. Inspired by curved lines everywhere and soft appearance of mask.Mask of Dampening: Dampens extreme light, sound, and energy bursts on contact with user. Inspired by "earmuff"-like circles on the sides. Mask B: Mask of Heat Vision: Allows user to fire beams of heat from the eyepieces of the mask. Inspired by "superhero" look and thin bars, as well as the Rahkshi power. Immoral.Mask of Lightning: Gives user a small control over Lightning. Suggested by Meta-Mind Mask C: Mask of Currents: Allows user to manipulate direction and speed of nearby currents of gas, liquids, energy, etc. Inspired by flowing shape of mask, Neptune crown over eyes, water drop-like mouth, and blue coloring. Mask D: Mask of Acceleration: Allows user to increase the speed of a moving object. Inspired by windswept look and "Need for Speed" crazed grin.Mask of Deception: Allows user to project an illusion that feels, smells, acts, etc. exactly like the real thing as long as a subject believes in it and the user remains focused. Suggested by Omega 12 and ClickMask of Deception Alternate: Makes the user more believable. Suggested by Omega12 and Click Mask E: Mask of Nullification: Lessens force of impact on a user's body. Example usages include jumping from higher places with little injury, punching hard enough to shatter your hand, and dampening collisions. Inspired by helmet-like look.Mask of ___________: Allows user to temporarily (as in like five minutes) use elemental abilities of other elements that they have witnessed. Recharges for a day or so before it can be used again. Inspired by Airbender arrow on top. Mask of Afterlife: Borrows energy from the user until they die, and then they live in a Spirit-like form (similar to the Iden) for an equal amount of time. Suggested by Toa Nidhiki05Mask of Vacuum Breathing: Self-explanatory. Suggested by Omega12Mask of Gas Breathing: Self-explanatory, Suggested by Omega12 and Takua Dragonstar7Mask of Time Jump?: Allows a user to jump ahead a few seconds, remaining in the same place to avoid attacks or wait times. May conflict with EM mask. Suggested by Lokisyn Please let me know if I messed up any links or made typos. I think my keyboard's dying. Other ideas include EM suggestions without images already, which can be seen here. A list of possible powers from this list can be found in this post. So, what do you think? Any other ideas?
