Title pretty much says it all. If you had to explain the Bionicle storyline to someone who isn't familiar with it in one sentence, what would you say?

After Spherus Magna, Tahu and the rest of the Toa set off on a quest for a mask of great and legendary power, possibly even more powerful than the Mask of Life itself. Little was known about this mask, but during the battle on Spherus Magna, one of the Matoran reported to Tahu that he say a "golden comet" streaking across the sky at that time. An explosion was then reported by Pohatu on a training mission. Every hero from the previous world had settled into Spherus Magna, but no one was prepared for what was happening outside the settlement. Tahu walked fast as the others followed, Until he came to a mysterious entrance, that resembled the head of a Toa. The desert he was in was called Mistic Valley, which was known for making a deserted being go insane from hallucinations. " Mata Nui, what is this?" Tahu said. He walked into the entrance, and a light blinded him. When he opened his eyes again, he, and the other Toa, stood in front of a hallway lit by torches on the walls. Lewa and Kopaka were more curious of what had happened. Everyone stayed on the wits end until they came to a small light source of some kind, coming from the end of the hallway. "Have we been here before?" Onua said, puzzled. Everyone took the question into immediate thought. What they saw shook them. A pedestal oozing blue energized protodermis and an unkown, powerful looking mask floated above it. Around the room were different, pod-like, wall elements, colored blue, red, brown, black, green and white. Mysterious masks hung over the chambers, ones they have never seen before. What they did not know was that this was where the Great Beings had made a mask, The Mask of Creation. "Welcome, Toa." said a voice in the shadows behind the pedestal. A being walked out before the six heroes. Clad in a yellow and red cloak, the being removed his hood, revealing ancient features. "I am Antorkus, Adviser to the Great Beings" said the being. "The Great Beings have yet to meet you, step into the chambers, all of them want to meet you." Tahu walked up to Antorkus, and firmly said: "Why are we here?" "A great power only known as the Lord of Skull Spiders has taken over the island of Artahka. The Great Beings had to create something to deal with this threat, This whole place is in fact the Temple of the Great Beings." answered Antorkus. " He stole the real Mask of Creation from us, in an attack on the Temple. In case of thieves, I sculpted a replica, a powerless fake." " They want you to take their power and defeat the Lord of Skull Spiders and get back the Mask of Creation. enter the Chambers of the great beings, those things on the wall, and receive their power!" They did so, walking into their respected colored chamber. The masks above the chambers glowed the color of the chamber. The eyes turned blue. Antorkus shuffled to a lever on the wall. And pulled it down. A bright flash of white engulfed the room. Antorkus stood silent as the pods lifted into the air and disappeared. At first he waited, hoping for some sign of greatness to show up. Then he heard a sound- laughter- coming from the entrance. he soon realized he was hearing the laughter of Makuta Teridax, which always brought death and destruction. Antorkus pushed a small block in the wall inward, closing the entrance to the room, sealing him in. he could hear someone walking up to the wall. The being said: "Skull spiders are coming, the Lord will outnumber you, and my revenge will be complete!" Then he could hear footsteps turning and walking away from the wall, leaving. The Toa had opened their eyes to something mystical, they were inside a cloud, surrounded by their own memories. Flashes of light passed by them, indicating battles with foes. everyone now knew where they were; They were meeting the Great Beings themselves. A round, table-like rock formation floated down toward the six heroes. They all stood up, still bewildered after the recent events. Six beings walked out of the folds of the clouded "room". They all bore elemental colors, including blue, green, red, black, white, and brown. Indicating that these beings were the Great Beings in person. Everyone were all astonished by the sight of the Great Beings fortold in their own legends. The Toa started clapping a few seconds after. " Welcome, everyone. We have to meet you all. We have a legendary power to give you, let us show you." said one of the beings. All the Great Beings rose their hands, and touched the shoulder of each Toa. They knew what was happening: They were making them into Elemental Masters. Masters of all the elements; fire, ice, land, stone, water, plantlife-air, and ice. "Use these new forms to defeat the Lord of Skull Spiders, bring back the mask, The Mask of Creation!" "We believe in you all. We will take care of the other members of your settlement." "Long live Mata Nui!" And with that, they were transported to Artakha. They knew their mission. They knew what they had to do. They were Toa

I've decided to start publishing this story I've been writing. It's a direct continuation of the official Bionicle storyline, and is intended to wrap up the many minor plotlines that were bouncing around when the story ended, while also being a complete story in of itself. It doesn't explain what happened in the official story, though, so if you haven't read it you might be lost at first. There will be brief summaries of what's happened before now in the review topic. http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/13242-marendar-review-topic/ All comments and criticisms are welcome, especially any errors you might find. Prologue Earlier The Sisters of the Skrall were in their greatest crisis yet. Only moments ago, they believed, they had been on a trek across Bara Magna, seeking a being who could supply them with great power. Now they were somehow stranded in empty desert without so much as a crumb of food, a drop of water or a scrap of shelter. They had no choice but to choose a direction and continue marching, hoping that they would find some sort of salvation before they all perished. When salvation came, it was in the driver's seat of a strange machine that glided over the ground like a bird through the air, no louder than a soft breeze. The Skrall watched the machine approach, Solis Magna reflected in the glass-and-metal sphere of its exterior. When it was only yards from the awestruck sisterhood, the vehicle drifted smoothly to a halt. Out stepped a strange being, clad in armor they did not recognize. "So," said the stranger deliberately, "it seems you may be in need of help. Fortunately, I believe I will be able to provide it." The Skrall shuffled their formation, making a half circle around their leader. "I am Kehanus, matriarch of the Skrall," she proclaimed. Identify yourself and state your purpose." As she spoke, she reached out to sense the stranger's mind, only to discover that it was defended by a mental shield more powerful than she had imagined possible. "My only purpose here is to aid you and your sisters." The being took a few steps toward them, looking down at a metallic object he carried in his hands as he spoke. "You have a long history of being betrayed, Kehanus. Your Element Lord ignored your wishes and led your women to fight and die in the war. The Great Beings sent the Baterra to kill you, even though it was not your choice to take up arms against the other tribes. Your males abandoned you, leaving you behind in the wasteland. And even now, Agori and Glatorian are building a great new society--one they wish you to have no part in." "What do you want?" "I want to save you, Sisters. I will give to you power far greater than any of your kind has ever wielded." With the smile of a rock viper lying in wait for a rodent, the stranger casually turned the metal tool in his hands. "None of you have carried a weapon since the war, for fear of the Baterra." He pointed the object at a nearby rock and pressed a button. A bolt of yellow lightning leapt from the device, shattering the rock into gravel-sized fragments. A dust cloud rose away from the remains. "These are no ordinary weapons: they are the very ones used by the Baterra themselves. The only weapons that the Baterra are programmed not to attack. Wielding them, you can destroy Baterra with ease. You can massacre them, just as they did to you. And once the Baterra are gone, you will be able to use any weapons you like... on whomever you like." Kehanus was silent for a moment. Her instincts told her that it was a trap; that this creature had some ulterior motive. But could she risk denying her people the tools they needed to rise up and reconquer what was once theirs? "Our immediate concerns are far more dire than our future plans, stranger. If you offer aid, then how will you deliver us from the perils of the desert?" "There is a small village of Agori just three miles west of here. They have food in their stores and water in their wells..." The stranger rubbed at some minute blemish on the weapon he carried. "...And if they are unwilling to share those with you, then it will be an excellent opportunity for you to test these fine gifts I wish to bestow upon you." He held up the device for the Matriarch to take. After she hesitantly did so, he returned to his vehicle and unloaded an armful of the weapons, which he passed out among the Skrall before explaining how to use them. "You claim these will protect us from the Baterra, but how do we know that is true?" questioned one of the Sisters. The stranger casually took the weapon from her and fired it at a stone pillar projecting from a rock formation behind the group. Rather than shatter, the pillar exploded into a burst of sparks and toppled to the ground. The Skrall could clearly see that it resembled stone no longer, rather a mass of ruined machinery. There were two clawed arms visible, folded against the metal structures. "If anyone has further doubts," the stranger chuckled, "now would be the time to voice them." No one spoke. The stranger returned to his vehicle once more and came back with a large apparatus that seemed to be a huge metal cylinder twice the size of his own head, with straps that allowed it to be worn on a person's back. "This," he said, dumping it onto the ground, "is my final gift. It is not a weapon, but rather a sort of shield. You see, there is now a new species of being on this planet. They resemble Glatorian, but their armor is like my own. These beings are powerful: they control the elements much like the Element Lords did. But there are far more of them. Enough that, as strong as you are, Sisters, they could have you at their mercy. "This device will quickly drain away the elemental abilities of these beings if they come near, leaving them powerless. I recommend that you carry it with you wherever you go, and keep it out of sight when possible." "We are... grateful for your gifts," said Kehanus. "But you never answered my first question. What is your name?" The stranger at first seemed to ignore the question as he trotted back to his vehicle. But as he climbed into the machine, he turned and answered. "You may call me Marendar." The vehicle left a faint haze of dust in its wake as it floated away over the desert. Review Topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/13242-marendar-review-topic/?p=687706

I was just reflecting on which BIONICLE books I liked most and least, and I got to thinking about something. While the serials are often heavily criticized for being bloated, aimless, and an obstacle to new BIONICLE fans, I'm starting to get a sense of why they were introduced in the first place (other than as a free online method of story dispersal). The books in the year 2006 were among my least favorite. At many points felt like the characters were rushing from one battle or crisis to another without pause, and the characterization in these books (in my opinion) was very weak. Subsequently, Prisoners of the Pit ended up being one of my favorite BIONICLE books because it got to explore the Toa Mahri, their relationships with one another, and how becoming Toa had affected them much better than the 2006 story had done for the Toa Inika. What changed for the BIONICLE storyline in 2007? The biggest change was the introduction of BIONICLEstory.com and the first story serials. And I think that while their own quality may be contested, they helped to relieve some of the bloating that the main story had undergone in 2006. Instead of the main story having to make room for minor characters from the sets like Umbra and Irnakk or combi models like Protodax, Botar, and the Kardas Dragon, the story serials could deal with these kind of characters (as seen in Dreams of Destruction, which focused on the store-exclusive characters Lesovikk, Karzahni, Sarda, and Idris, or Brothers in Arms, which focused on the store-exclusive characters Mazeka and Vultraz). Instead of the main story having to keep tabs on fan-favorite characters from previous story arcs like the Toa Nuva, Roodaka, the Rahaga/Toa Hagah, the Order of Mata Nui, and the Dark Hunters, the story serials could keep tabs on their adventures (as seen in the Toa Nuva Blog, Federation of Fear, Destiny War, Dark Mirror, and Dwellers in Darkness). These things freed up the main story as told in the books to focus on the characters who actually mattered most: the current Toa team, their current allies, and their current enemies. The books could spend more time on characterization and world-building. They didn't have to do so much jumping around between spatial and temporal settings. They didn't have to have so many characters who got in the way of the Toa just because there was a set or combi model to promote and the designers didn't give a lot of thought into how to fit those characters or situations into the main storyline. I can't tell you for sure whether the serials are every bit as bad as people remember them. I just skimmed through the 2007 ones to remember what they were about specifically, and the writing is weak compared to the books — in some cases, weaker than I had remembered. The fact that my memories of the later serials were not fond enough to even go back and skim them is telling. Perhaps part of the reason the serials got more tangled and bloated as they went on is because, with more and more characters being introduced to the story and fewer and fewer books to fit them in, they started to suffer the very same fate they were meant to save the main story from. In any case, I definitely don't think that the serials are themselves redeemed by the purpose they served, but perhaps I still owe them some thanks for what they were: a pressure release valve of sorts to reduce the out-of-control expansion the main story was losing the ability to deal with on its own.

I'm curious, at what point did you realize that Mata Nui was actually a giant robot that the Matoran all lived in? I, unfortunately, cannot remember for sure, but I think it was early in 2008, during the Phantoka line. I cannot remember what caused me to realize it, but I can remember the awe of that discovery and my. . . excitement at realizing something so big. So, when did you realize this?

Alright, so as I was watching a video on Christian Faber's blog, I saw this photo. I looked through the rest of the Bionicle posts on his site and couldn't find it anywhere else... take a look at it and I'll get to the questions. The link leads to the image on my Flickr. https://www.flickr.com/photos/76365814@N08/14837418061/ I've heard about three-finger island before as a concept that was never used and have seen several photos of it. But what about those other two islands, Knee-Cap island and uh... Foot island? This looks really interesting to me and I wondered about what if the story of Bionicle turned to be different? What if these islands were to be explored by the matoran, I kinda think that would be a pretty cool concept! It's so mysterious and now if Bionicle's getting a reboot, do you think that there's the possibility of these islands (or at least 1 or 2) coming into play? What could have been discovered there? Would we discover new species or characters? As cool as the whole Metru-Nui concept and everything afterwards was, I'm starting to wonder what the Bionicle world would've looked like if all of this didn't happen (or in the least was delayed). Could the story of awakening Mata-Nui really taken place solely on these islands? And if anyone has any other pictures or knowledge of/about these islands, please do share! This looks really cool!

Marendar, the mysterious Toa-hunting invention of the Great Beings. Barely mentioned before the story came to an abrupt halt. So many questions left unanswered... I'm curious as to what everyone thinks about Marendar, so I've created this topic for any theories and such regarding the character. What we know: Was created by the Great Beings to kill the Toa if they ever turned evil and tried to conquer Spherus Magna. Is now running amok on Spherus Magna, likely hunting the Toa.Has the capabilities to bust out of a solid protodermis cage. What we don't know: what it looks like.what it is fully capable of.what it actually is (organic, cyborg, fully mechanical).what part it would have played in he future storyline (before the Bionicle serials were abruptly ended).Personally, I hope Marendar features in the new story, because I think as a character it had a lot of potential to drive the plot. Theories: I have a feeling that Marendar is probably fully mechanical, like the Baterra or the Mata Nui robot, and likely has some kind of sophisticated laser weaponry to combat Toa. If it was built to fight Toa, logic would dictate that it has some kind of invulnerability to Toa elemental and mask powers, or perhaps it feeds on them. (I think the Rahi Nui had a similar capability). I think that the viruses that The Shadowed One gathered (the same ones that were used by Teridax to bring down the MU robot), would have played a part in defeating Marendar (assuming my guess of it being a robot is correct).Right, those are all of my thoughts on the topic. I'm very interested to hear what everyone else thinks about it.

I was just wondering if anyone wanted to post there self moc (or just a mocs) story and how they tie into the bionicle universe. I will probably post mine soon. ~

While I know not each and every one had to do with the story or was indeed in anyway compatible with the actual pieces, can someone provide me with a full list of canisters that did either of these things? So far, I think it goes something like... Toa Mata - Story: What they famously washed ashore in. Compatibility: Technic pin holes and head piece. Bohrok/Bohrok Kal - Story: Resting chamber. Toa Nuva - Compatibility: Same as Toa Mata, but with two more pin holes in place of the head piece. Rahkshi - Compatibility: Resting place for the Kraata? Kraata Collectibles - Compatibility: Resting place holes for the Kraata and Technic round peg hole. Toa Metru - Story: Two lids could make a Matoran Sphere, as seen in the story a few times. Compatibility: A disc could be placed on top of the lid side and in the middle exists a Technic round peg hole. Toa Mahri - Compatibility: Technic round peg hole connections (and more?) exist on top of the plastic part of the box. Thanks in advance if you can help me out!

~BIONICLE~ The Legend Continues ... Hello people! Here's a topic where I will continue the Bionicle Story. I will write, but I would love to see people contribute anyhow, with MOCs, shorts, character descriptions, concept art, and anything you could think of! I'll do my best to discuss and integrate anything you guys post! Please note that this should be posted on this Epic's Review Topic, not here! Anyway, this is the first part. There's more description of what's happened until now than anything else, but trust me, it will NOT stay that way. I have quite an interesting idea for the murderer (that is Velika as you all know*, but that's not the idea). *Some of the story may refer to things Greg Farshtey has posted on these forums through Erebus. You can check out some of the Q and A's he's done. Freefall (forget the rubbish name I'm thinking of something ...) Brutaka stared out a window of the strange of the Great Being's Temple at the vast expanse of Spherus Magna. It wasn't a real window. From what he saw when he'd ventured out, there were no windows. What he was seeing was a screen showing what some camera on the exterior was. Him, Axonn, Helryx, Tuyet, Miserix, Artakha, Vezon, and Great Being himself had watched the whole spectacle of Mata Nui confronting Makuta, both in the forms of robots, one of which contained the universe that he and the others had known. The next thing they knew, they were on a fully reformed Spherus Magna. Then for some reason the Great Being had decided to lock down the entire building, leaving them trapped. Another thing that had changed was that Brutaka had regained his usual form, losing his mutation from the Pit, and that from the Pool of Makuta, including the conscience that had possessed him. Another issue was that neither Artakha nor Miserix could teleport them all away, due to some kind of block. The Great Being himself hadn't been seen whatsoever hiding in the darkness of his chamber, that was naturally protected by some force field, and judging from the gibberish he spoke, and how he spoke it, he was more insane than Vezon himself, who was sulking in some corner for being locked out of the Great Beings chamber and locked in the Temple itself. Vezon's Olmak that had fused itself to the back of his head like the Ignika, wasn't working either. They were all well and truly trapped. None of the people trapped seemed happy about the high tech luxury of their prison, most of them disliked each other. Brutaka was nearly convinced they could use Lewa who'd disappeared out of the temple to look around before the lockdown. He might have been able to break the tension. Suddenly Axonn got up and picked up his axe. He wasn't happy. “I've had enough of this! Waiting, staring out of the fake window! We have to do something!” “We were … And we'd tried virtually everything before realizing that this place is invincible! It's hopeless!” Snapped Tuyet, getting up angrily. “Nobody asked you your opinion traitor.” Said Helryx trying to contain her obvious craving to crush the rogue Toa. “Oh come on! Are you seriously still steaming mad about that incident thousands of years ago? Seeing some of the things you've done-” Tuyet was cut short as Helryx pinned her to the wall with her shield. “I'd suggest you shut your mouth Tuyet, unless you want me to do it for you!” Tuyet was about to strike back, only to be stopped by the mighty Makuta Miserix, violently pushing the two Toa apart. “Enough! It's bad enough without the two of you killing each other!” “We have no space for traitors! When we get out of here we'll be walking into a new world!” Yelled Toa Helryx. Artakha himself stood and telekenically pushed all three apart. “Exactly! So all of you sit down and stop fighting! Start clean. Now I suggest that either we continue to sit in this unbearable silence, a building storm in between Helryx and Tuyet, and probably soon all of us, or we actually try and find a way out of here using our heads, not our weapons!” Nobody spoke. Then the ground started shaking. Chiara and Zaria crouched behind a thick bush. They were being hunted by apparent Bota Magna Vorox. Some kind of revenge for the Glatorians hunting Bara Magna Vorox. The only difference between the two was that these had advanced technology and could speak, and their leader had cancelled out the Toas' elemental powers. As a result, Chiara Toa of Lighning, and Zaria Toa of Iron, were weaponless and powerless. A Vorox scrambled up a tree and looked around. They clearly knew that they were close, but hadn't found them yet. That's why Zaria was quietly leading Chiara through the bushes, back the way they'd came, trying to confuse the Vorox farther more. “This had better work … Our lives kind of depend on it.” Whispered Chiara angrily. “Unless you had a better idea, then I'd shut your mouth! The Vorox have acute hearing and I don't feel like dying because of you cinically biccering!” Whispered Zaria. Chiara shot a small bolt of lightning that struck Zaria and made him jolt. He was about to get back at her when he realized something. “Chiara did you see that?” “What I zapped you, and you actually seem happy about it. Want me to do it again?” “No! Our elemental powers work! Kabrua's staff only works at close proximity. How far have we gone from the Vorox?” “I don't know … Twenty mio away?” “That's not even that far. If we can get in the closest distance possible for our elemental powers to work, then we can blast him!” “Ha. You nearly make it sound easy.” Orde struck the intruder with a mental blast. The creature in front seemed to take minimal damage and threw a sword at the Toa. Orde dodged just in time as the blade went soaring past his head and impaled itself in the tree behind him. Then Gelu leaped at it from behind. It spread it's wings in a struggled to get him off as Orde ran at him face on and kicked him down. The thing simply rolled backwards and kicked both of them off, flying up into a tree and creating a force field around itself as Orde And Gelu got up, dazed. The creature didn't move, and stayed up in the trees, not showing any signs of attacking or dissipating it's force field. “That's a Kanohi Hau … Mask Of Shielding.” Pointed out Orde. “What the heck is it?” Asked Gelu stepping back and looking around for a potential weapon in case. “I am Gaardus. Not an it,” The creature replied. “Why did you attack?” “We didn't attack, you did. You appeared right in front of us.” “I didn't attack. I just appeared.” “No … I suppose you didn't. Still isn't that kind of menacing when a ten foot creature appears in front of her.” Gaardus was silent, and didn't move. Nor did a confused Gelu and Orde. The creature had simply appeared in front of them, coming out of nowhere. After a long while it talked again. “I had come to hunt. Do you want to help?” Two Toa teams walked slowly away from what used to be a huge fortress. Jaller stumbled along confused, helped along by Pouks. His mind was in shambles after being somehow psychologically manipulated into following the Golden Being. The Toa Hagah had succeded in saving him, and the rest of the Toa Mahri. That was the first shock. The second was caused by the fact they were on some Spherus Magna and the whole of the universe they knew was in ruin in some giant robot. It was hard to take in. Suddenly Jaller tripped and fell to his knees. “Sorry …” Said Pouks helping him to his feet again. “I'm alright … thanks …” He replied. He looked back at the ruin of the Golden Being's Fortress. Some parts were simply faded, or so undense that they'd shattered, others had been cleanly cut by some sort of dematerialisation field. Anyway, the damage had been done, and Anonna, the very creature that had inflicted it, had been sent to another world. Yet the Golden Being still stood fixing areas of the fortress with his mind, using the dreams of the Skakdi themselves, who some of were running around looking panicked more than anything else. “Hard to take in isn't it?” Said Hahli next to him. “Yeah … I wonder what the Golden Skinned Being will actually do after he rebuilds his fortress. I mean, what is his purpose? If he was created by Teridax, then for what? Enslaving all the Toa?” “Well he's not doing that anymore. I guess we'll have to wait and see …” The two toa stopped with the rest to see the temporel settlement for the toa and the Agori. The Mata Nui Robot lay quite far away, some of it in an ocean. It was so immensely big that the Toa couldn't see the head, or the feet. “Wow. That is big …” Commented Kongu. “The settlement looks rather … basic. And … well not very advanced.” Said Hahli. “You haven't been gone for centuries, you know? This is where most of the Matoran and the Agori live in … well lets say they don't always get on so well. For the moment at least …” Explained Iruini. “There are some small villages that are being built, and we are searching for a good location for a city, but nothing is fixed right now. Nearly half the Agori and Matoran live in camps!” Said Gaaki. “It's not as bad as that. It will get better in the future. I mean, we weren't expecting it to be a utopia the moment we settled …” Commented Norik. Suddenly, something landed heavily behind them, sending out a small shockwave. The twelve Toa swirved round, drawing their weapons, shields, spears and Cordak Blasters. “Whoa! Hold your Ussals, Toa …” The figure who stood in front of them raised his hands. He was tall and wore armour of dark purple and jet black. He wore a mask that none of them had seen, and although he was nearly definitely a Toa, he wasn't like one that any of the ones who stood in front of him had seen before. “It's alright! I'm a Toa aswell. There nothing to worry about.” The Toa lowered their weapons. “Just because you're a Toa, doesn't mean you're a good guy …” Said Kongu. “I guess not. However, I can assure you, you can trust me …” “How about you start with who you are …” Asked Bomonga skeptically. “I'm Iragan, the last Toa of Gravity …” Zaria and Chiara clutched their newly gained high tech weapons. Their plan had worked, succesfully luring two Vorox to where they could take them down. “The plan is simple. Chiara, you go and cause a distraction. Lightning and whatever you want. Don't make it too obvious that it's a distraction. Make it look accidental. An accidental backfire of your power or missuse of the weapon. I'll go round from behind, take down Kabrua, and destroy his staff.” “Sounds simple the way you put it, brother. I'll deal with the distraction. This better work.” “We haven't got a choice, sister.” Chiara snuck off under cover of the bushes. Zaria couldn't fail, or both of them would likely die. But then again, both of them had faced worse. Zaria made his way round in the opposite direction, keeping enough distance in between him and Kabrua, but enough to catch him. Once the staff was his, the Vorox were going to be easily delt with. Even without elemental powers or weapons, he was capable of taking down most of the Vorox in hand to hand combat. The only problem was the weaponry they possesed. They were not a problem with the control over metal though. Zaria got into position. He could see Chiara getting into place aswell as he awaited the signal. It came to him that all their mask powers had been blocked aswell. With his own Xhorath, Mask of Biomechanics, and Chiara's Perimi Mask of Inertion, they would with no doubt win the battle. Zaria looked ahead to see Chiara wave. He had to await the right moment. Chiara was in place. All she needed to do now was create a distraction that seemed like an accident. But as Chiara prepared to cause her distraction, something happened. There were a few thuds as arrows hit at least four Vorox in the chest, then something big crashed through the foliage above and landed on Kabrua, stabbing a sword through him. The being cut through most of the other Vorox before they could react, and drew out his bow to finish off the last ones. Chiara stayed hidden. She didn't know what to do. The creature was a huge winged being, wearing a Kanohi Hau with four legs and at least four arms, carrying a sword each. The thing slung his bow over it's body and walked over to the dying body of Kabrua. Zaria looked over at her from his hiding place, confused. What had just happened? Suddenly, two figures jumped down from the trees next to the beast, and talked to it. Only then did Chiara realize that the figures were in fact Orde and Gelu, their guide. What was there to do? The creature stopped talking to them and started picked up Kabrua staff, studying it, and storing it in a sachel. It picked up and stored a blaster that the Vorox carried, and then went on to start finishing off and gathering the bodies. Orde didn't look to happy, but they seemed to be allied with the thing. Then the beast turned towards Zaria. It had heard something. It drew out his bow as it walked towards him. What happened next didn't come as a surprise. Zaria reacted swiftly, using his Mask of Biomechanics to slow down the creature just enough to use his powers over metal to mostly disarm the beast. It managed to hold onto a sword and it's bow, and attempted to strike the Toa. Zaria dodged and fired his weapon. It caught the beast on the shoulder but the creature reacted fast, throwing it's bow over his head, pulling it and letting it ping back in his face. Taking advantage of the disorientation, it swung it's sword at knee level but Zaria just managed to dodge and roll backwards, firing his weapon again. Chiara crashed out of her hiding place and ran towards the fight like Gelu and Orde who were trying to get the beast to stop. This time Zaria took the upper hand, using his power over metal to damage the creature's armour, but it responded in shooting an arrow at it's foe. It caught the Toa of Iron in the arm and leaped at him, sending him sprawling, only to recover and painfully rip out the arrow and aim his weapon again. “Stop! Gaardus, Zaria please! Both of you, we're on the same side!” Said Gelu running over. “He smells like Vorox and carries one of their weapons …” “Well so do you, and I didn't attack did I?” Snapped Zaria angrily. “It's not particularly obvious what's happening, to be honest …” Added Chiara. Orde mentally informed them of what had happened to them. “He just slaughtered at least thrity Vorox! I don't see how you could let him to that. It's not part of the Toa Code …” Grumbled Zaria. “I'm not a Toa.” Pointed out Gaardus. “But Orde is …” “He simply left and attacked the Vorox. We followed him in the treetops but there wasn't much I could do. We were in range of Kabrua's staff …” Retorted Orde. Zaria made a slightly skeptical face and looked at Gaardus. “So what are you doing slaughtering Vorox, big guy?” “I was hunting.” “Why? What had they done to you?” “Nothing. They were already dead, and I may have use of their parts, weapons, or technology.” “They were already dead? What do you mean?” Asked Gelu curiously. “They were killed, and somebody used their empty shells. I couldn't feel a consciousness in any of them. Somebody was controlling them …” Orde looked stunned. “But I could read Kabrua's mind! He definitely had one …” “Yes. He seemed more alive. There was still his last moments of consciousness in him. But he was still being controlled.” “But by who?” Asked Chiara. “I read Kabrua's mind, or what was apparently left of it. This is going to sound strange, but I think these Vorox were being controlled by a Great Being himself, and whoever this being is, he has been hiding in disguise, in the Matoran Universe itself …” Sahmad ran across the shallow river, the pursuer close behind. The Agori of iron was out of breath, clutching a feeble dagger. The thing running behind him was a huge, nearly Skopio sized wolf like creature. Sahmad crashed through the undergrowth of a small forest and out into a more deserty area where grass was only just starting to grow. The monster behind him bought down a few trees as it followed him. Whatever I was, was catching up fast. He wouldn't escape, not on open ground anyway. Then Sahmad realized that he wouldn't even be able to try. He stopped short of a cliff as the silver beast finally closed in, roaring a roar that must've been heard a few mio away. The Agori turned round to face the Iron Wolf that slowly took a few steps towards him. He was as good as dead. Suddenly, a sound wave powerful enough to knock him off his feet struck, and there was a blinding light. Then it all went black.

Hello, folks. As you probably guessed, this is the review topic for the FTL prequel story "Red Skies", Discussion of the story itself should be done here, rather than cluttering the game topic. As an author's note; As you've probably guessed if you're reading this, this story is the prequel to the RPG currently running. It details the story of the Invasion of Terra, as told largely from the viewpoint of then-Captain Daniels, along with cameo appearances of other characters from the RPG. All of the broad events and details in this story have been provided by the ever-patient Humva, and he has fact-checked anything I have come up with. There will likely be eight installments, each one at least as long as the first. Cameo appearances will start a little later, and if you want one for a character, let me know and I'll try to slip it in. Enjoy. Story Topic

The First Day "Red sky at morning, sailors take warning." -Nautical proverb Year 94 ALT (After Light Travel) Earth Orbit, Sol System 19:34 Hours Laughter filtered through the air of the Officer’s Lounge, emanating largely from the cluster of men and women seated around a small card’s table. Those that hadn’t been laughing gave exaggerated sighs, and in a few cases, muttered, awestruck profanity. A dark-haired woman in her late twenties, rank insignia identifying her as a Captain, drew a mound of poker chips from the center towards her, grinning widely. “And that, friends, is why you never, ever bet against me.” “Geez, Izumi, remind us all why you’re here, and not at some poker championship somewhere?” The speaker, himself a Captain, was a dirty blonde man with a wry grin, looking to be in his early thirties. He shook his head, looking across the table at another of the officers. “Stein, you’re a commanding officer; Aren’t you supposed to be inscrutable or something?” “Talk to me when I’m not on my third drink, Layton.” The other man quipped, raising his glass as if in salute only to take a long sip from it. Izumi, meanwhile, just grinned smugly at the other Captain, taking a sip from her own drink. “Besides, I don’t think it’d do me any good. This crowd, you’re all luckier than God, and I don’t understand it.” “I’ll personally settle for being as lucky as God.” A brown-haired man remarked from the seat to Layton’s immediate left, chin in his hand. “I swear, if I were any less careful you’d play me for all I had.” “Wouldn’t be hard!” Stein remarked, prompting another round of laughter. The brown-haired man rolled his eyes, turning around to signal for a drink. “That said, Daniels, I hear your movie collection’s probably worth more than my entire salary, and I outrank you.” “That might be a bit of an exaggeration. How much do you make?” “Ssh, sssh, Will, don’t remind him; He works on a cruiser, it’s a touchy subject for him.” Layton commented mischievously, only laughing when the Lieutenant Colonel, in the midst of taking a drink, simply glared at him over the rim of his glass. Izumi chuckled under her breath, attention momentarily diverted from the stacks of chips she’d been in the process of organizing. “Don’t get too smug, Captain. You’re not likely to get lucky enough to stay on a ship like this when you get to where I am. If I get the chance, I’ll see to it that you get assigned to the smallest ship in the fleet!” Layton gave a look of mock fright, before returning to his grin and shaking his head. “I don’t know, sir. You heard the shipboard whisperings?” “About the Colonel?” Izumi asked, looking up from her cards, eyes fixing on her colleague curiously. “I’ve heard a few of those. Reid tells me that he’s had more transmissions from Munich than usual lately.” “Yeah, about the Colonel.” Layton confirmed, leaning back in his seat. “People’ve been thinking that he might be getting promoted. Can’t say it’d surprise me, either. He’s practically a legend, and he’s been at his rank about the right time.” “I don’t think he’d leave the Archangel.” Will commented, sipping at his drink thoughtfully. “He’s been serving on this ship what, almost forty years? He’s never been away from it long. It’s more home for him than Earth, I’d be willing to bet. Besides, does anyone here really see Bryant as a General? He’d hate the bureaucracy.” “Well, regardless, ladies and gentlemen,” The Lieutenant Colonel began, setting his glass down and his cards with it. “It’s been a blast, but Colonel O’Reilly will be expecting me back on the Defiant soon. And I’m on duty in the morning, and she’ll skin me if I have a hangover.” As he stood to depart, the dark haired woman stood with him, pushing in her chair. No one was particularly surprised; She was the Security Chief, it was her job to see that visiting officers were escorted wherever they were headed. The Lt. Colonel paused long enough to gather his things and nod to his fellows before walking to the door, flanked by the Captain. William sighed, setting his own cards down and gathering them up, while Layton gathered the various glasses from around the table. “Hey, Mark,” The Captain said, getting his friend’s attention while he shuffled the cards idly. “Do you think the Colonel’s going to get promoted?” “I don’t see how he won’t.” The other officer replied, organizing the glasses on a tray and tossing the assorted bits of trash into a nearby receptacle. “He’s been in the Forces for forty, fifty years, right? Records show he did more than a few tours out in the colonies, and some rough ones at that. A clear pick, if I ever saw one.” Will tapped the cards against the table, the sound easily audible in the now quiet lounge. He looked thoughtful, sliding the deck back into its sleeve without really looking at it. After a few moments he shrugged, slipping the cards into a pocket. “Well, I suppose we’ll find out after the main fleet gets back.” “Yeah. How long’s that going to be, anyway? They’ve been gone over a week.” “About another week, most likely.” The Captain responded, sliding his chair out to stand, and glancing about to make sure that a mess hadn’t been left behind. “The trip to the Engi homeworld takes quite a while. Til then, we’re one of the thirty ships left guarding Earth.” “And isn’t that the most boring job ever.” His counterpart commented, rolling his eyes. The duo moved for the door after raising a hand in farewell to the staff of the lounge, never ceasing their conversation. “I mean really. Thirty ships doesn’t seem like much, but nothing ever gets through to Earth. I hate patrolling so close to home, it’s just too easy. Not what a ship like this should be doing, either. I want to be back out in the colonies, near the edge of our turf. Back out where the pirates are, where all the universe’s odd-” “No, you want to be a hero.” The brown-haired man interrupted in amusement, raising an eyebrow at his friend’s look of mock indignation. “Don’t give me that look, Mark. You and I both know it’s true. You want to climb the ladder, want to make a difference. And maybe get into the history books while you’re at it. You never shut up about it back at the Academy.” “Alright, fine, you win.” The Navigations Officer replied good-naturedly, slipping his hands into his pockets casually. “Besides, everyone wants to do something cool. Climbing the ranks is just a bonus. A bonus with a bigger paycheck, admittedly.” Will chuckled, shaking his head in amusement as their path took them to an intersection in the hallway. Both men turned left, greeting familiar faces as they passed. The hallways weren’t very crowded, not at this time of night, but they were made to accommodate plenty of movement. Their footsteps made little sound as they turned the corner, continuing on their way without breaking stride. The ship’s hallways were a maze to those not familiar with them, but for the ship’s crew, they were almost like home. A very large home, admittedly, but home for the crew of five thousand. That said, most of the crew never really went through the passages the two officers currently walked; The officer’s lounge was off the beaten path, and with only ten percent of the crew at most composed of officers, there wasn’t much of a point for them to be traveled. “Besides, Will,” Mark began again, looking over at his friend as he broke the silence. “Don’t you want to move up in the world? Maybe even be a hero?” “Never really been a concern for me.” The Weapons Officer replied, shrugging slightly. “I mean, I wouldn’t turn down a promotion. But I’m the primary Weapons Officer on board a Dominion-class battleship, already a Captain, and I’m barely thirty. Not too bad, all things considered, and my paycheck’s pretty nice as is.” “Well, to each their own, I suppose. Hey, you’re still supplying the movies for tomorrow night, right?” The event in question was a well known one, among the crew members of the Archangel at least. Organized by the officers of the ship, there was a night once a month where the ship’s crew could gather to watch a movie on a larger screen, or take part in any number of related activities. The event ran a full twenty four hour day to ensure that everyone would have a chance to attend, regardless of shift, and it was custom for the crew members to supply films from their own collections. Daniels was a frequent participant, hence why so many of the features tended to be of the science fiction genre. Not that the crew tended to mind; Old science fiction tended to be more like reality for them, what with how technology had advanced. “A few of them, yeah. “ “Science fiction again?” “... Perhaps.” The Weapons Officer said evasively, though judging by his friend’s laughter, it wasn’t in the slightest bit convincing. Daniels rolled his eyes, glancing at his watch. “Oh, be quiet. I think I’m going to get some water and turn in earlier. We’ve got the first shift in the morning.” “Probably wise. I’ll stop by Reid’s quarters, see if she needs anything for tomorrow. I’ll come back after that and get some sleep.” The pair paused at the next intersection, Daniels nodding to the Navigation Officer and raising a hand in goodbye, before taking the right hand corridor. The walk wasn’t as long as one would have expected; Despite the battleship’s large size, it was set up with practicality and purpose. The officers’ quarters were situated not far from the Officers’ Lounge, and neither one was set very far from the ship’s bridge. The quarters for the enlisted were further away, closer to the maintenance rooms and the armory, allowing them to reach the rooms related to their duties more easily. There wasn’t much of a difference between the two types of rooms, bar location and accommodations. As William keyed the access code to his quarters, he took a moment to look about, taking in the familiar sights. His quarters were divided to accommodate two occupants, whereas the enlisted rooms held more. In this case, the occupants were himself and Captain Layton, and it was easy to see which side of the room was which. Where Daniel’s side was tidy and well-organized, Layton’s had more surface clutter. Their personal effects were an easy indicator, as well; Where William had cases for data drives labeled with the list of fiction contained within and printouts of the public copies of new weapons research, his roommate had games and the evidence of his pastimes, including a deck of cards perched precariously on his desk. A battered and off-used coffee maker sat next to the personal computer, the catalyst for significant productivity. Not that the Weapons Officer paid these things much mind; He took only the time to change out of his uniform, check for announcements on the ship’s main network, and then sink into his bunk. The past few days had been boring as far as duties went, but the crew had used the easy assignments to make time for more recreation than usual. Time at the pool, games in the recreation room, movies, and of course, cards in the Lounge. Between it all, he was more than ready to sleep. His thoughts as he drifted off to sleep were of plans for enjoyment, lists of the duties he would attend to in the morning, and little more than his daily routine. Blissfully unaware that nothing would ever be routine again. *************************** Outer Lunar Sensory Array 22:17 Hours In the space, even so close to the Moon, nothing ever happened. Little moved outside of scheduled flights or military patrols. The latter were particularly thin; Though the colonies maintained their own defenses, the vast majority of the Confederate fleet had been gone for quite some time on their trip to the Engi homeworld. The sensor station’s duties were simple, and monotonous. It watched for FTL travel, and kept a watchful eye for any threats. Raiders, usually, raiders and pirates. There hadn’t been many insurgencies for quite some time, though rebellious colonists had been a significant issue a few years back. Nevertheless, it rarely had need to perform any duties beyond simple monitoring of its sector of space. The stillness was rarely broken, the drudgery of idle work seldom disturbed. Perhaps that is why, when the station did detect something and sent the data back, the initial reaction was disbelief. Operators, unsure of what they were seeing, checked their equipment for malfunctions. That was the most likely explanation, after all; No matter how hardily built their devices were, unmanned stations would inevitably suffer from errors. In this case, it simply had to be an error. There was no way it could be correct. Nervous operators nevertheless passed the information on through the chain of command, all the way to the commander of the forces in orbit around Earth. They worked quickly, analysts woken and brought to their stations to verify what the sensory array was reporting. Precious minutes passed until, after the reports had been analyzed and the array’s systems checked for malfunction, the operators were forced to accept that their readings were correct. The knowledge set off a frenzy of motion and activity, weariness instantly forgotten. General Pauls, stationed at Proxima Base, received word nine minutes after the sensor’s initial notification, and the commanding crews of the ships in orbit around Earth received word seven minutes after. The ships guarding the colonies had less warning; Word reached them a few minutes after the others, depending on where they were stationed. The information was spread as fast as it could be, but as the estimated arrival time carried with it indicated, their warning came only just before the storm. ******************** TCV Archangel Earth Orbit 22:24 Hours The blissful rest of sleep was interrupted by the clamor of alarms, piercing sounds that tore their way into the consciousness of even the deepest sleeper. Daniels woke almost instantly, the significance of the alarms registering mere seconds after he awoke. The Weapons Officer all but leaped out of his bunk, pulling on his uniform in seconds even as his roommate did the same. Few words were exchanged, and their initial communication consisted of only a glance to ensure that the other was awake. The Captains rushed out of their quarters accompanied by the sounds of hundreds of pairs of boots rushing through the halls, hurrying towards their ready stations. Any grogginess had vanished instantly, pushed from their minds and muscles by a rush of adrenaline. Their senses were crisp and sharp as the officers took a hard left from the quarters, all but running towards the bridge. “Layton, what the helI is going on?” William said to his colleague, glancing over at him briefly. That glance alone was enough to know that the Navigations Officer had no more idea than he did, though he hadn’t really expected him to. The alarm wasn’t scheduled, nor was the next drill due for a few weeks. Something had happened, something that could raise the alarm in Earth’s orbit. The thought left a sinking feeling in his stomach, a tight knot of worry that he forced himself to push aside. Neither officer spoke another word in the time that it took them to reach the bridge. As the doors opened to allow them entrance, they noted that most of the command staff was already present. The brunette-haired woman at the far right, pulling a headset on over her head and adjusting the microphone, was Lieutenant Reid, the ship’s Sensory and Communications Officer. The men to either side of the bridge’s entrance were present in the event either of forced entry to the room, or in the event that one of the bridge crew was injured and needed to be brought to medbay. And sitting in the center seat, a row back from the control panels that wrapped around the room, was their commanding officer. Colonel Bryant was a tall man, even seated, with steel gray hair kept at maximum regulation length and a carefully trimmed beard of the same. Piercing, analytical blue eyes were fixed on the tactical readouts flowing across his screens, taking only the briefest of moments to note the entry of his crew. The Colonel was pushing his late fifties, a veteran of the conflicts on the frontier, and he radiated experience, as befit one of his almost legendary status. Few officers had commanded a battleship as long as him. Daniels and Layton slipped into their seats with practiced ease, adjusting the comm units in their ears and bringing their respective stations to active status with a few presses of the keys. Reports rang through the commlines as personnel reported in from across the ship, signifying their readiness for action. “Daniels, bring weapons to standby. Lieutenant Reid, get the battlegroup on the comm.” Bryant’s voice rang through the air, firm and clear. A few key presses, and he had opened a line to the fighter bays. “Toselli, are our fighters ready?” “Aye, sir.” A lightly accented voice replied promptly, carrying the characteristic tones of a native Italian speaker. “Lt. Colonel Rosaria Toselli reporting. All pilots accounted for, on standby status in their craft. We can launch on a moment’s notice.” “Good. Reid, open a shipwide communication.” The woman nodded, fingers flying across her keyboard. An acknowledgement light winked on the arm of the Colonel’s chair, and a moment later, he cleared his throat and spoke. “This is Colonel Bryant. Eleven minutes ago, the Outer Lunar Sensory Array reported incoming FTL signatures of unknown origin. They are estimated to arrive on the frontier in three minutes, and here, in Earth orbit, in six. Their numbers are unknown; Their numbers are too high for the array to estimate. We are now on red alert.” In the moment following the Colonel’s words, silence reigned. Significant looks were exchanged across the bridge, Layton’s eyes uncharacterictically wide, and Reid’d face draining of color in moments. Daniels pivoted in his seat to stare at the Colonel, expression one of unmitigated shock. The announcement was ended by a gesture from Bryant, just in time for several faces to appear on the main viewscreen, audible over the command comm line. “Archangel battlegroup reporting in. Colonel O’Reilly, of the cruiser Defiant, representing.” The speaker, a woman roughly the same age as Bryant with fading red hair, was visibly accompanied by her second, Lt. Colonel Stein, who was hunched over his own console. “Bryant, are you getting the same reports I am?” “I am.” “Then you’re fully aware that we don’t have the numbers to deal with this. There are thirty ships currently in Earth orbit, and only fifty in the system. Even with the Tokyo, we’re outgunned.” “Acknowledged.” Was the only reply, as the Colonel nodded almost imperceptibly. “You all know the tactics. We’ve done this before; This is no different.” A wave of acknowledgements rippled forth from the commanders of the other ships in the battlegroup, their communications going silent as they issued orders to their own crews. As was standard procedure, the vessles took their places around the Archangel. Several Heinlein-class missile destroyers were the closest to the larger battleship; Arranged around it, they provided support while making use of the ship’s superior firepower to act as a defense. Just beyond them were the cruisers, mostly Constellation-class, were stationed to guard against incoming threats. Their duty was to protect the inner ships, intercepting threats that would otherwise strike through towards the destroyers, meant for blanket fire, and the battleships, which were too large a target to defend against all attackers. All around the planet other battlegroups did likewise, forming up around the five battleships in orbit. Over the Northwest hemisphere was the Seraph battlegroup, centered around the other Dominion-class ship in orbit, while the Southeast was defended by a pair of State-class battleships. High over the Southwestern hemisphere was the Tokyo battlegroup, arranged around one of only two Capital-class battleships in the solar system. The space forces, thirty strong, waited in silence, weapons ready. Across the viewscreens of the fleet a synchronized timer counted down, bridge crews watching with tense anticipation. By the time all of the preparations were done, only forty seconds remained. On board the Archangel, those seconds seemed like an eternity. Daniels checked and rechecked the ship’s armament while Layton checked their bearings, and Reid orchestrated communications between the ships. Bryant stared in stoic silence. Though he couldn’t tell for sure who it was, the Weapons Officer was sure that he could hear quiet prayer from somewhere on the bridge. As the timer passed the ten second mark, the world seemed to hold its breath. Nothing moved, nothing stirred, and everything was still. The silence was almost oppressive, pressing against their chests like a thing alive, aggravating the tension in the air. The timer ticked inexorably downwards, each second seeming longer than the last, until finally, with an understated beep, it struck zero. The silence continued a moment longer. Then the world went mad. As one, the contacts appeared. A horde of vessels appeared like a plague of locusts, choking the sky with their sheer numbers. The ships were all alien in design; Crudely insectile, with jutting protrusions and harsh, predatory angles, they descended as one. They were innumerable, untold in scope and scale, a vastly superior force arrayed against a mere thirty ships. The nearer ships were smaller; They appeared to be equivalent to the Confederacy’s cruisers and destroyers, but looming behind them were much, much larger vessels. Their battlships numbered in the dozens, and by a look alone, their other ships in the hundreds. Their make was unmistakable; The Mantis had come, and they had come in all their might. “Sir,” Reid spoke up, voice cutting through the air, even as quiet as it was. “Sensors are unable to estimate their number. Best guess is several hundred in total.” Almost as if waiting for that cue, the ships opened up, spewing veritable armies of fighters, craft small and nimble that surged towards the Confederate forces, their larger compatriots hot on their tails. Seconds after their arrival, with not a word spoken in warning or explanation, they opened fire, beams and lasers cutting through the reaches of space to impact with shields. The Confederate ships returned fire, spewing hot metal that lanced outwards, bypassing shields to slam into hulls. The routine had become the chaotic, the monotonous the cataclysmic, and the easy, normalcy of life the harrowing, unknown of war. It had been fifteen minutes, from warning to battle, and those minutes had ensured that nothing would ever be the same again. Review Topic

Hi, guys. As title says above, why do you guys dislike Hero Factory so much? Well, I like it, but the story needs some things to work on, such as some characters, like Stringer and Nex, the new voice actors in the Invasion From Below episode, the unresolved chiffhangers in the second Breakout episode onwards, and focusing on the main story more, like Bionicle did.

Anyway, this is the first part. There's more description of what's happened until now than anything else, but trust me, it will NOT stay that way. I have quite an interesting idea for the murderer (that is Velika as you all know*, but that's not the idea). *Some of the story may refer to things Greg Farshtey has posted on these forums as Erebus. Another thing that had changed was that Brutaka had regained his usual form, losing his mutation from the Pit, and that from the Pool of Makuta, including the conscience that had posessed him. His Olmak that had fused itself to the back of his head like the Ignika, wasn't working either. “I'd suggest you shut your mouth Tuyet unless you want me to do it for you!” Tuyet was about to strike back, only to be stopped by the mighty Makuta Miserix, violently pushing the two Toa apart. Not an it.” The creature replied.

Hello everybody, I have something new. Something bold. Something random. Including (but not limited to): Morgan Freeman, Majestic Unibrows, and Hand Grenades. The first few chapters will deal with introducing me and my friends' characters. Everything from then will be our mostly-made-up adventures. If you would like a cameo appearance, let me know. REVIEW TOPIC ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <Terry> Terry awoke as he did every day. Get dressed, pretending to brush his teeth, and eating a hearty breakfast of cereal. He walked across his room and grabbed his dead phone, because a phone was better than no phone. He was going to charge it someday, just not today. He then proceeded to get ready for a long day of napping, playing with Lego, and target practice. Being a freelance mercenary was a hard life, which was why Terry lived in a cardboard box fort with optimal security. Leaching off of the next door restaurant was difficult without getting caught, so he routed it through the mayor's house, which was conveniently placed next to the restaurant. Also, since the mayor was his kid brother, Terry was next in line for the throne. For some reason, Terry's parents always favored his brother over him; it was probably the "cute" factor... As usual, Terry failed at hitting the bullseye with his crossbow. so went and played Call of Duty Black Ops with a bunch of noobs and STILL failed at getting a killshot. "Fudge this." He said as he decided to take a nap on his first-class pepakura couch. Unfortunately, Terry crushed his couch. But that didn't stop him from trying to sleep the day away. But he forgot about the huge pile of Lego he stashed under his couch... Terry shouted so many obscenities that not even a book the size of Moby Dick; Unabridged could hold them all. Even the restaurant's manager came over to talk to him. Nobody ever talked to Terry. So Terry blew up the manager with a grenade. Unfortunately, now Terry would have to do paperwork. But fudge that! He just burned it; and as a former Boy Scout, Terry knew how to start fires. He especially liked making fires out of the restaurant manager's five-star uber-greasy french fries. Seeing that he had no need for a manager's body, he burned that too. The smell of burning flesh brought all of Terry's doggy friends to his box fort, so he fed them well. "Who wants some chicken fingers?" Terry asked in an adorable Morgan Freeman impression. He had killed Morgan Freeman a while ago, mainly because he criticized Terry's toxic birthday cake that he had made for the mayor's birthday. That was the last criticism that Freeman made, because he ate the whole cake. A lot of people hated Terry for that, so he blew them up with grenades. But somehow, he managed to miss the mayor. Also probably protected by the "cute" factor, even though he was in his twenties... Because of the scientifically unexplained "cute" factor, this made it impossible to kill the mayor, so removing him from office was the closest he could get. As Terry wrote out his spur-of-the-moment plot to remove the mayor from office, he thought about how likely it was that he would get caught. Finding too many opportunities to get caught, he burned that plan in the dying fire. He decided to improvise his plan, he had taken theater in high-school before he was kicked out for being a psychopath. Even though the principal knew he was a sociopath. With Terry's fully not-so-thought-out plan, he left his fort and walked up the unguarded steps of the mayor's house. Since they were family, Terry's brother welcomed him with open arms. "Brother, I am thrilled that you are here." The mayor said. "Cut the Shakespeare." Terry said. "Why are you here?" Terry's brother asked as he pointed an M1911 at Terry. How did that happen? Because his brother was a wizard (but not a very good one). But then Super Fumble came and kicked the gun out off his hand and broke it with his unibrow. "Fear not citizen, Super Fumble is here!" Super Fumble proclaimed. Terry was getting annoyed, so he did what he always did when he was annoyed; he threw a grenade at whoever was annoying him. Namely, Super Fumble. Super Fumble absorbed the blast through his majestic unibrow, but realized his fatal error too late. "Oh ship." Fumble said as he blew up. "That's going on his gravestone." Terry said. "You really have no respect for the deceased, do you." The mayor said. "Now, why are you here?" "I got a job as a private investigator." Terry said. "Self-hired?" The mayor asked. "Yes." Terry responded. "Worthless." Terry's brother said. "I got an anonymous tip that you are stealing electricity." Terry said. "Mind if I take a look?" "Preposterous." The mayor said with disgust. "Thanks." Terry said as he shoved his brother aside. "Would you at least lose the outfit?" The mayor asked. "You look like Deadpool for God's sake." Terry flipped his brother off in response as he walked outside to do an inspection of the mayor's power supply. "Aha!" Terry exclaimed in delight. "Did you find something of interest, brother?" The mayor scoffed as he worked on his tan. "You've been siphoning the restaurant's power!" Terry said enthusiastically. "A crime whose punishment is death." The mayor stood up, spit out his martini, and made his tanning bed disappear (because he's a wizard). "Impossible!" Terry's brother exclaimed. "The proof is in the pudding." Terry said as he handed his brother a large bowl of the stuff. Terry's brother examined the bowl and its contents and pulled out a picture of an extension cord leading to the restaurant (Terry put his extension cord underground to avoid getting caught). "My God!" The mayor exclaimed "I've been framed!" "Only a court trial can determine that." Terry said as a hawk dropped a note on the mayor's head. Terry picked up the note carefully and read it. "Speak of the devil!" Terry said. "There's a trial scheduled for tomorrow." Terry's brother stuttered and nearly fainted. "Fear not Mr. Mayor, I will defend you to the best of my ability." Terry said, even though he had no experience in being a lawyer. "Thank you, brother." The mayor said. "By the way, you may want to shower soon." Terry said. "I think that the hawk dropped more than a note." Terry's brother touched his hair and looked at his hand in disgust. "Ovoire." Terry said as he headed back to his cardboard fort. The next day began as the previous one did, even the new restaurant manager was blown up and burned. Terry examined himself in a suit and tie and decided that he looked much sexier in his work clothes, so he wore that to the trial. The trial was going well until justice Kakaru took over, and revealed that he paid off the jury after he pronounced the mayor guilty. But seeing seeing that he was protected by the mysterious "cute" factor, the mayor was sentenced to life in prison instead of death. "Well brother, it looks like this is farewell." The mayor said sadly as the police arrived and cuffed him. Terry watched with hidden sorrow as they hauled his brother away, the only family Terry had left. Hours passed, then days, then weeks. Terry finally decided that something needed to be done. He marched up the steps of the courthouse and entered justice Kakaru's office. "Justice Kakaru?" Terry asked as he opened the door. "Ah, the PI that found our mayor committing treason." Kakaru said. "I'm a legitimate private investigator now?" Terry asked in surprise. "No, I meant 'Pee-in'." Kakaru replied. "Because of you, we have nobody to lead us!" "Yeah, I suppose that there is something I should do about that." Terry said solemnly. "You're the mayor's brother, correct?" Kakaru asked. "Yes, but that's not what I'm trying to-" Terry was cut off as Kakaru began speaking again. "Perfect! You will lead us then." Kakaru said excitedly. "Um, no." Terry said. "I framed the mayor." "WHAT!?!?!" Kakaru yelled. "I NEED THE ARMY, THE NAVY, THE AIR FORCE, EVERYBODY!" Kakaru yelled into his phone. Within minutes, the courthouse was nothing but rubble as missiles, bombs, and bullets rained from the sky. "My cabbages!" A travelling merchant yelled with anger as his cart was blown up by a stray rocket, and soon, he was out to get Terry too. Everyone had a gun aimed at Terry. The army, the marines, the koalas, everyone. Then a green porta-john materialized in the midst of it all and knocked everybody backwards with its fowl odor. A young man, a bit younger than Terry, then stepped out of the mobile toilet and looked at the carnage that he thought he had caused. "I knew my ship smelled bad, but I didn't think that this would happen." The man said. He then saw the pandas, soldiers, and cabbage salesman on the ground holding weapons. "Oh my, what has happened here?" The man asked to nobody in particular as the crowd began stirring. "Now, if you don't mind, I'll be borrowing this man for some time. Cheerio!" "I'm not getting in there." Terry said in disgust. The man peaked out from around the door. "She's bigger on the inside." He said. Seeing as Terry's only other obvious choice was prison, sharing a magic porta-potty with someone else didn't seem as bad. So Terry got in and almost passed out from all of the awesome. Or awful depending on how you look at it. It was indeed bigger on the inside, with a disco ball, shiny lights, and anything you could dream of, but there were half-eaten pizzas, dirty clothes, and trash all around the main hub. "You like?" The man asked. "It's... interesting." Terry said. "I tried to make it feel as much like home as possible for you." The man said. "I can tell." Terry said, still disgusted that the man thought that this was how Terry lived. "You haven't told me your name." The man said as he flipped some levers and pushed some buttons on the main console. "My name's Terry." Terry said. "Oh no no. That won't do at all." The man said. "Has to be six letters." Terry rolled his eyes and then asked what the man's name was. "They, my friends, call me the doctor." The man said. "But my name's actually Gamepixel." "Doctor Gamepixel?" Terry asked. "Ah, that has a nice ring to it. 'Doctor Gamepixel'. I like it." Gamepixel said. "But I'll still go by Gamepixel. Shorter to write, shorter to say." "Where are we going?" Terry asked as he walked up to a monitor. "Everywhere." Gamepixel replied with a smile.

We know that Makuta Teridax is the main villain in the whole Bionicle story and is Mata Nui and the Toa's archenemy. Throughout the entire story, he made a plan that can at first put Mata Nui to sleep, so he can control his body and get rid of his spirit to take over the entire Matoran Universe. Later, he planned to use Mata Nui's body to conquer the entire Bionicle universe, starting with the planet of Bara Magna as his base of operations, shown in the book, Journey's End. However, when he started to invade it, Mata Nui, Gresh, Takanuva, and Tahu foiled his plan by killing him. Before Teridax died, he even threatened to destroy the entire planet, including everyone on it, with one shot instead of conquering it because Mata Nui interfered him. So, as the title says, above, do you guys think that Teridax could be one of the greatest and fictional villains ever? Well, for me, I think possibly so how he made his plans, the fact that he is powerful and ruthless, and he kills people, including his enemies, to accomplish his evil plans. He is also a very evil mastermind who leads a large group of powerful villains and other evil creatures. He plans very carefully, so he can always get his advantage and hardly get a disadvantage. Teridax is hard to be defeated by anyone, and he is a floating cloud in armor. He even used the Toa Nuva's attempt to reawaken Mata Nui as an advantage to take over Mata Nui's body once it's reactivated. He also can get more powerful as his first evil plan goes. Teridax also is a clever tyrant who wants to get rid of anyone who tries to stand on his way. He likes torturing people, too. Teridax also uses people to accomplish his evil plans. I think Teridax is the most evil villain in the entire Bionicle story and is pretty famous, too. So, I think that a fictional villain would be called one of the greatest and best in that way. I could also think of other fictional villains that are like Teridax in some ways, and these are: 1. The Joker 2. Loki from The Avengers movie 3. Lex Luthor 4. Plankton from the SpongeBob Squarepants Franchise at some points 5. Mojo Jojo from the Powerpuff Girls TV series 6. Him from The Powerpuff Girls TV series 7. Doctor Doom 8. The Red Skull 9. Vilgax from the Ben 10 franchise 10. The Green Goblin 11. Doctor Octopus 12. Venom from Marvel Comics 13. Carnage from Marvel Comics 14. Megatron 15. The Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise 16. Aku from the Samurai Jack TV series 17. Slade from the 2003 Teen Titans TV series 18. Magneto from the Marvel Comics 19. Von Nebula from the Hero Factory franchise (my guess is that Von Nebula could also be the mysterious villain who is behind the events in the Breakout and Brain Attack events) 20. Jafar from Disney 21. Captain Hook from Disney 22. Maleficant from Disney 23. Mumm-Ra from the ThunderCats TV franchise 24. Galactus from the Marvel Comics 25. Darth Vader 26. Darth Sidious from the Star Wars franchise Also so, what do you guys think of this? Do you guys agree with me?

There are some questions that I'm yet to have answers to in the Bionicle story. 1.What is the average lifespan of a matoran? (Would the matoran be considered the "children" of Bionicle?) 2.What would happen if Takunuva removed his mask? 3.What parts of the anatomy of an average Bionicle character be living or machanical? Do they have living brains or A.I. ?

The Mysterious Villain In The Hero Factory Story
Lenny7092 posted a topic in Hero Factory Discussion
Throughout the Hero Factory story, we noticed that there is a mysterious villain who is responsible for the Breakout and possibly the Brain Attack events. His identity isn't revealed, possibly yet. We are wondering who this villain is. For me, I think it is most likely Von Nebula because it's obvious that he always hates and wants to destroy the Hero Factory organization, I think that he obviously has the guts to do that, and in the very end of the second Breakout episode, his clawed arm is shown in darkness. I also think there is an explanation about this, and it is this: after he got trapped in his own Black Hole Orb Staff, he made a new plan to he hopes to destroy the Hero Factory successfully. First, he got out of his staff like a powerful battering ram. Then, he snuck past the organization like a ninja. I would think that he probably learned how to do that when he was a Hero named Von Ness (Aren't Heroes trained to adapt to their surroundings during missions?). Next, he used a spaceship to get out of the Makuhero Planet and hide in a rocky planet or moon, which is seen at the very beginning of the Brain Attack episode. He later found the Black Phantom and Voltix. He told them his plan. They agreed to participate in it. That's when Von Nebula started his plan. He pretended to be a completely different innocent being to trick the Hero Factory into placing his staff into its Villain Storage Unit by calling it through a connected communicating device tell them to place the staff into the room for more security and safekeeping, so Voltix can start the Breakout. Then, Von Nebula had the Black Phantom steal the plans for the entire Hero Factory for him. Black Phantom was trying to destroy the Hero Factory, but he was stopped by the Heroes. Von Nebula got the plans through his laptop, which is seen at the end of the second Breakout episode. He changed his body to almost look like the Black Phantom, which is seen in the very beginning of the Brain Attack episode, too, to probably become more powerful. He sent the Brain bugs to destroy the Hero Factory, which is also seen in the very beginning of the Brain Attack episode. The Brains caused the events in the main Brain Attack storyline and Secret Missions: Collision Course and Robot Rampage books. I also think that he will probably get involved with the new Invasion From Below storyline because I think he possibly told the Brains to create the giant hole in the Hero Building, seen in the Brain Attack episode, to probably somehow unleash the monsters, seen on the front pictures of the new, upcoming Hero Factory 2014 set bag packages, from underground to attack the Hero Factory, too, just in case they can't succeed in destroying it. I believe that the Breakout, Mission: Catch 'Em And Cuff 'Em, Black Phantom's takeover in the Hero Factory building, the Brain Attack events, and possibly the upcoming Invasion From Below events are all distractions on Hero Factory, so Von Nebula can have enough time to use the Hero Factory plans to create his own robot-making factory to create an army of evil versions of the Hero Factory Heroes to finally destroy the Hero Factory and possibly take over the galaxy and/or the whole universe. He will probably use some Anti-Quaza, which the Bkack Phantom has, to create the evil robots. He will also possibly get a lot of bad people, probably the villains that are still on the loose, to help him create both the factory and the robots, like the Hero Factory organization. I think Von Nebula would be like Makuta Teridax from Bionicle because of the way he plans and acts like the main villain in the whole Hero Factory story. Overall, that's my theory about the mysterious villain could be Von Nebula. So, what do you think about this, guys? Do you agree or disagree with me? If you don't agree about the mysterious villain could be Von Nebula, then who else?- 8 replies

As the title above says, which of the Brain Attack events happened first before the others did? What I meant the Brain Attack events meaning the Brain Attack episode and Secret Missions books, Collision Course, Robot Rampage, and Mirror World. At first, HEROsector01 said that the events in the books happened first before the ones in the episode did, but later on, it switched them around: now the events in the books happened after the ones in the episode did. I am confused about this now. I mean, which of the events really happened first before the others did: the events in the episode or the ones in the events?

Prologue I can not share my name with you, but know that I have seen and done much. Maybe that will be my downfall, all my evil doings masked by philanthropy and false glory. This is the story of my home, my planet, Proto Magna. My planet sits in the void of space surrounded by the mysterious and powerful black holes. These black holes vary in size yet all have the same densities and gravitational pulls. In the middle of these celestial doom-bringers is Proto Magna. The Great Beings, as the legend says, created us and our planet. We were merely prototypes. Our elements, our armor, our names, faces, masks. All prototypes. Thankfully we were forgotten in space and not destroyed like the other prototypes. We survived and thrived until the portal opened and they rushed through our world spilling blood with each second. The Abominations. At least that's what we call them. Some of them call themselves "Makuta" or "Rahkshi" and they have many other names too. All harsh and cruel sounding. But all they are are alien creatures who care about nothing but chaos. This portal is a rift in space and time. It is unnatural, ungodly and should NOT exist. Yet it does. Why? I can not tell you now yet rest assured that when you have heard my tale you will understand. As I said before, my planet is under the force of multiple black holes. This has caused our planet's surface to be pulled and stretched and twisted. As a result of these forces beneath the crust is a huge planet wide cavern. Yet above the crust is a storm of epic proportions. We call it the Zephyr Sphere. Centuries ago, during our planets industrial revolution we harnessed the energy of this storm with turbines. With it our subterranean society thrived and we built and used magnificent machines. The cavern in which we live and battle in is known to us as the Cavern Sphere. The walls, ceiling and ground has patches of a powerful light producing algae that is powerful enough to provide a state of perpetual "daytime". The light is enough for plants to grow and for us to see. Thank the Great Beings for it without we would be lost. My race the Matoran who may become Toa who later become the Turaga, live in a magnificent metropolis we did not name. Our city is just called the city. The Matoran and Toa live around a large university. The university houses the government who is elected based on IQ. At any time almost 15% of the Matoran are working or learning at the university. They value intelligence and many of them aim to be scientists or entrepreneurs. Even farther down is a core of an unknown and impenetrable metal. We would have thought it was solid had it not been for the Great Shift. A few decades ago the core opened through a small fissure. All around the planet a great earthquake could be felt. It was not an earthquake that destroyed objects, it was a mental earthquake. Every creature in the planet felt an intense pain simultaneously. Many Matoran were driven insane some died. We tracked the energy released from the quake to the fissure. According to those who survived the battle, the fissure glowed purple and a glowing purple sphere, a portal, could be seen inside. Then the war started. At once thousands of horrific beings rushed out through the portal. Luckily the Matoran who were sent to analyze were not alone. Their Toa escorts fought against the first wave. It was a massacre. Thankfully reinforcements arrived quickly and joined the battle. One survivor is quoted as saying "...and the organs and blood rained from the sky and erupted through the ground. A snake headed biped with a large bloodstained axe ran at me. At that moment a tsunami of toa stormed forwards. Driving back the threat..." Still the Abominations continued to attack, this war would rage for years. I tell you now of the events that would happen. Maybe we can prevent a similar thing from ever happening again. But before I start I must say, I am truly sorry. Really to all those who I wronged, who I led to death. Please forgive me and learn from my mistakes. Do not forsake me. My soul aches already from my misdeeds.

Akamai and Wairuha stood stoic in the coast of Metru Nui. It had been half a century since the Toa, the Turaga, and the Matoran returned to their former city of Metru Nui. They thought the Makuta to be dead, but they were wrong. The Makuta could never die, he was alive, hiding, biding until he could have his vengeance. After 29 years of peace, Emergence Day happened. One by one, colossal Rahi-like creatures that could easily tower over the tallest Knowledge Tower emerged from the sea and attacked the islands of Metru Nui, Xia, and Odina respectively. It took seven days to defeat the one at Metru Nui, decimating the entire Vahki force and reserves of energized protodermis to do so. Half of Onu-Metru and the archives were completely destroyed. They needed a new weapon, one that could match the force of these monsters. The Kaita program was initiated. Proposed by the great inventor Nuparu and inspired by the Toa Kaita, the Kaita program was to create giant Exo-Toa, those that could match the size and force of the monsters. The Kaitas, as they were called, however, required multiple pilots to lessen the mental load in controlling the robots, something the Toa Mata has had numerous experiences with. The Kaita program proved successful in defending Ta-metru in the second invasion of Metru Nui and after, all the islands have their own Kaita. Akamai and Wairuha were unique in their design, as being the only Kaitas being piloted by three Toa each, they both had a three-armed design, one main arm on one side and two on the other, and possessed several abilities to overcome their lack of elemental power. Recently, the Turaga discovered how the Makuta was able to create the monsters. In fact, the monsters were not created by the Makuta. It was an artifact buried deep beneath the sea, a Kanohi known as the Kanohi Ignika, the Legendary Mask of Life. It was also rumored to be able to revive the Great Spirit Mata Nui. Only a Destined could use it safely, so the Makuta took the monsters, guardians created by the mask, and infected them to use as his soldiers. If they could use the mask to revive Mata Nui, the Great Spirit should be able to put an end to the Makuta. The Toa Mata could not go in case another attack occurs on Metru Nui so the Turaga sent a team of Matoran comprised of Jaller, Hahli, Matoro, Hewkii, Nuparu, Kongu in a prototype Nui to retrieve the mask. All Akamai and Wairuha could do was wait. They must hold the line at the coast and prevent the monsters from attacking the city and hopefully hold them back long enough for the Matoran to complete their mission.
