  1. Okay, so this is part of an alternate reality storyline I’m slowly working on. The basic idea is that this is part of a universe where Vakama never returned to the Toa. At the pivotal moment where Vakama and Matau are fighting, Matau finds himself dangling over the edge just as he does in the main time line but instead of delivering the motivational speach about saving the matoran he berates Vakama. “Look at what you have become, you have just proven that I was right, you never should have been our leader.” In a moment of rage Vakama ignites his weapon and severs Matau’s arm at the elbow leaving him to plumet to the ground below. As he follows him down to finish the job Whenua dives in to save the Toa of air but still in his enraged state Vakama plunges his weapon into Whenua’s chest, ending his life. Realizing what he has done Vakama flees, eventually becoming King of the VIsorak, awakening Teridax and ruling over much of Metru nui and it’s now brainwashed Matoran, except a small number In this time the 4 remaining toa escape. 3 make the decision to remain as Toa to continue the fight while Nokama becomes a Turaga to rescue the small number of Matoran they could save. I haven’t come up with much more yet but this changes everything. The Toa Mata never wash up on Mata Nui and eventually the 3 remaining toa Metru find themselves fighting in Mangaia and become toa Nuva instead. So backstory out of the way starting with Matau. Now sporting a Wind Short spear, a new synthetic left arm (complements of Artakha) and an enhanced Rhotuka shield complements of the Rahaga. Nuju now sports a pair of toothed tonfa blades. Onewa a Giant Mace staff. We also have my Turaga Nokama revamp. And a nice group shot And just because I felt like having the entire team, a shrine for Whenua Also this came about as a result of me finding my old brickshelf account, so I’m slowly revamping mocs and continuing ideas. This came from an old Matau Nuva that I built back in 2007 lol Also huge thanks again to Galva for the masks and armor, their version of the Metru masks work perfect as Nuva versions.
  2. Ok so I recently got a Brinklink order with Metru Onewa in it, and it just dawned on me: what ARE the Proto Pitons? Are they grappling hooks? Or are they more like medieval flails? BioSector says "Onewa used them to swing from sculpture to sculpture in the Sculpture Fields", but this doesn't necessarily imply that this was their INTENDED use (BioSector also says "He was courageous, and ever-ready to crack a joke... He found being a Toa thrilling, like Matau" so maybe it wouldn't be too out of character for him to go "hey, I bet I could swing over there..."). I've always assumed they were grappling hooks, but after taking a closer look at the set form I'm not sure.... Also, LMN portrayal, if anything, seems to make this more confusing. What do you think?
  3. Exactly 15 years ago, on October 19, 2004, a second direct-to-video Bionicle movie called Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui was released. It’s based on the 2004 storyline, as it is a prequel. It’s about the Turaga of Mata Nui as a team of Toa called the Toa Metru long ago. They were learning on how to become heroes while they were trying save their home city called Metru Nui from a mysterious evil force. Anyway, like the first film, it’s made by Miramax, as the characters look like real cyborgs. The movie also shows how the Turaga know about being Toa, using Kanohi masks, where the Mask of Time came from, where the Matoran came from, and how did Makuta put Mata Nui to sleep. Plus, we learn that Matoran can turn into Toa and then a Turaga. I watched and loved the movie. It was great and epic. I like the character development, action scenes, and Matau’s crashing-onto-stuff moments. Lol!:) I felt sad at the scene where Vakama was having self-doubts and Lhikan died.:( I like that the Toa Metru had Matoran forms and Turaga Dume looks like an actual Turaga from the first movie rather than his Matoran-like set, which looks silly on him because of what he is. Now, for the negatives, well, I have a few. The Toa don’t use their elemental powers, not every Toa has all of their weapons, the Great Disk Matoran weren’t there, the battle with the Morburakh plant wasn’t there despite the plant having a cameo, there are only the brown and black types of Vahki, and these guys use the green type’s staffs, they never shoot Kanoka, Teridax acts like that he’s talking to himself, and his giant winged forms looks like his 2003 form with wings rather than his skeletal form in his Titan combo set for some reason. Plus, like the first film, the Matoran gave this thing with red eyes and some masks commonly. So, if any of you guys watched the movie, what do you think? Anyway, happy 15th anniversary, movie! Man, it’s so long ago! Good memories. We should do something to celebrate it.:D
  4. So there has been speculation of a new version of Bionicle (note sure if it's true or not, and I'm not very convinced yet, although I still hope). Anyway, this got me thinking about some ideas for a theoretical third generation of Bionicle and I came to the thought of what could be the possible heroes; I mean we assume that the Toa Mata will be the heroes, but do you guys think that it is important for Bionicle for that to be the case? Personally I think the Toa Mata should be present - kinda like Optimus Prime and Megatron for Transformers. However I would be interested in seeing the Toa Mata in a different role, either as the mentor's or as legendary predecessors to a new Toa team - someone like the Toa Inika, the Voya Nui Resistance or the Chronicler's Company. But that's just my thoughts, what do you guys think the role of the Toa Mata should be in a potential reboot; protagonists? Mentors? Antagonists? Not present? Something I didn't think of entirely?
  5. I'm trying to figure a few things out about the early 2004 sets as they came out in the US. Am I missing something or did none of Toa Metru come with mini CDs at all? Did they all just have Kanoka Club cards? And did any of them come with a mini booklet similar to the ones included in previous sets like the Rahkshi? From what I can tell, these types of booklets generally came in two versions: an international one without captions and a North American one with captions. I am 100% sure this applies to the following booklets, judging by what's listed on BrickLink as well as things I've personally seen: Early Bohrok booklet (with "LEGO Technic" printed on the cover) Regular Bohrok booklet Toa Nuva booklet Bohrok-Kal booklet Rahkshi booklet And now 2004 is when things get weird, as there are two international versions of the Metru Nui booklet (meaning without captions): one focusing on the Matoran sets and the other focusing on the Toa Metru sets. Of these two, only the former appears to be listed on BrickLink, while the other listed entry has an entirely different inventory number, implying that it's the North American edition of either the Matoran or Toa Metru booklet. What I'm trying to figure out is if there were in fact two North American booklets: one for the Matoran and one for the Toa Metru. I saw US eBay listings of Matoran, most of which come with a Rahkshi booklet, and fewer with a Metru Nui booklet. As for the Toa Metru, I haven't seen one with a booklet at all.
  6. Hi, guys! I know that Bionicle had ended three years ago sadly, but let’s be happy about Bionicle for something else. You see, this year, 2019, is the 15th anniversary of Bionicle’s 2004 storyline, which is a prequel where the Turaga of Mata Nui from 2001 are telling their people and Toa who they truly are and their history with a new place that they are settling in, which is an island city called Metru Nui. The Turaga were once a team of six Toa called the Toa Metru and were Metru Nui’s heroes, which explains why the Toa Nuva and Takanuva were not the first Toa on the island of Mata Nui. In the Turaga’s story, to Toa Metru go to collect six mysterious magical disks called the Great Disks while protecting Metru Nui from a mysterious threat. Anyway, I know that this year doesn't have anything Bionicle-related (well, has anyone seen anything Bionicle in The Lego Movie 2, like The Lego Movie in 2014?), but let’s celebrate the 15th anniversary of the 2004 storyline. That would enlighten you more. Let me tell you the 2004 storyline: The storyline started when the Turaga and their people are moving in to Metru Nui, which is ruined and abandoned, they tell the Toa Nuva that they were not the first Toa, which surprises the Toa, so the Toa have the Turaga explain this. So, the Turaga tell their story. Their story started a thousand years ago, when the Matoran were living in Metru Nui when it wasn’t ruined and use magical disks called Kanoka Disks, which shaped like the Bamboo Disks in 2001. The Disks can be used to make Kanohi masks. Metru Nui is divided into six city districts, and each is where each Matoran type lived. The districts are Ta-Metru, home of the Ta-Matoran, Ga-Metru Ga-Matoran, Le-Metru Le-Matoran, Po-Metru Po-Matoran, Onu-Metru Onu-Matoran, and Ko-Metru Ko-Matoran. The island itself looks like Mata Nui by shape and color. Also, each of the Metru was looked after by one of six types of robotic law enforcers called the Vahki. A Toa of Fire named Lhikan (his name makes me think of Lincoln. Lol.) sensed danger in the city, so he went to get six magical stones called the Toa Stones, the object that Takua used in Tale of the Tohunga in 2001. However, two Hulk-sized villains, Krekka and Nidhiki, who were bounty hunters called Dark Hunters, were after him, but he got away. Krekka is an unintelligent ape-like blue being who is the brawn, lost the right eye, and has a shoulder-mounted launcher that shoots Kanoka Disks. Nidhiki is an insect-like green monster with four insect legs and pincers who is the brains, was once a Toa, and shoots Kanoka Disks from his mouth. Both of them can fly. Lhikan delivered each Toa Stone to a Matoran from one of the Metru, and they are Onewa the Po-Matoran, Whenua the Onu-Matoran, Nuju the Ko-Matoran, Matau the Le-Matoran, Nokama the Ga-Matoran, and finally Vakama the Ta-Matoran. After that, the Dark Hunters kidnapped Lhikan, and Vakama witnessed this and had a vision about something relating to this. Vakama felt bad about Lhikan’s capture. Lhikan also told the Matoran that they have to go to a shrine where they will use the Stones, and when they went inside the place, they met each other. When they put the Stones in a pedestal in the middle of the shrine, the Stones turned them into new Toa. They had no idea how to use their new Toa powers or weapons yet. Vakama had another vision where they must find the Greak Disks, which are mysterious and special Kanoka Disks. The Toa formed a team called the Toa Metru, and Vakama is their leader. They went off to find the Disks, and each of the Toa must find its Metru’s own Disk. They got a group of six Matoran who use guns called Kanoka Launchers, which shoot Kanoka Disks, to assist them. Along the way, they fought against an evil and talking plant-based monster called the Morbuzakh, which was threatening Metru Nui. The Toa defeated the monster. They then went to the middle part of Metru Nui called the Coliseum, where they are greeted by the city’s ruler named Turaga Dume. Dume challenged the Toa with some challenges. The Toa saw the Dark Hunters accompanying him and he had been acting suspicious, so they tried to tell their people about it, but they didn’t listen. Dume tried to capture and imprison the Toa, but Vakama, Nokama, and Matau escaped while the others got kidnapped. The Dark Hunters tried to capture Vakama’s part of his team many times, but they couldn’t succeed. Along the way, Vakama noticed that the Great Disks can be combined into a new disk. The Toa also met a pack of big rhino-like Rahi called the Kikanalo, which are led by a chief. Both parts of the Toa team were learning how to use their Kanohi masks’ powers and their weapons while Vakama kept getting more visions. Nokama, who uses a Kanohi mask that can translate languages, was able to understand the Rahi, so she had them help her part get to the other part. The Toa Metru fought the Vahki along the way. The other part, which consisted of Nuju, Onewa, and Whenua, were assisted by some Turaga stranger who helped them how to use their Kanohi powers. The two parts of the team eventually reunited while encountering various Rahi. Every Toa but Vakama know how to use their Kanohi powers, and Vakama is having some self-doubt about himself as a Toa by title. The Turaga revealed himself to be Lhikan as a Turaga, who sacrificed his Toa power to create the Toa Metru in the first place. The Toa fought that Lhikan wanted them to save the city since he also said that cryptic saying “Save the heart of Metru Nui”, but Lhikan clarified that he meant the city’s people. Plus, they discovered Dume sleeping in a sphere-like container called a Matoran Pod while Lhikan revealed that there is an evil imposter who is pretending to be Dume and is the one who is accompanied and employs the Dark Hunters. Along the way, the fake Dume, who is assisted by a Hulk-sized Rahi bird called a Niwark who transports him and tells him information, had the Matoran get inside the Matoran Pods. Meanwhile, the Toa and Lhikan got themselves a beetle-like vehicle to travel and get to the Coliseum to try to stop the fake Dume from getting the Matoran, but they were too late. The fake Dume revealed himself as Makuta from 2001 and 2003, the very villain who the Toa Nuva fought and the one responsible for the events in the storyline and is the main antagonist of it. He also revealed his plan to use the Pods to wipe out the Matoran’s memories, use a special Kanohi mask called the Vahi, aka the Mask of Time, the very mask that Tahu used in the early 2003 storyline with the Bohrok-Kal, to accelerate the process, and become their leader. He used Metru Nui’s energies to put the Great Spirit Mata Nui into a coma, which is said in the 2001 storyline. Great disaster happened because of this. The Toa and Lhikan got the captive Matoran in their Matoran Pods to get away from Makuta. Makuta used a dark power called a Shadow Hand, which is a physical arm made of his shadow energy that can grab things, to get his Niwark and the Dark Hunters, and he then absorbed them to kill them, so he can have their essence to transform into a more powerful and bigger form, which is Hulk-sized and uses his victims’ body parts. Makuta then tried to stop the heroes, but the heroes survived, but lost some of their Matoran into a sea of Protodermis. Along the way, Vakama combined all six of the Great Disks into a new disk called the Disk of Time, and then used his mask-making skills that he has when he was a Matoran to turn the disk into the Vahi, something that Makuta tried to have Vakama do when Vakama was a Matoran. Vakama went to face Makuta with the Vahi in hand. He tried to use the Vahi against Makuta while Makuta tried use the Shadow Hand to eat Vakama, but Vakama only slowed the attack down while the Hand is still after him. However, Lhikan saved Vakama’s life by using his shield to block the Hand, which grabbed the shield and put some shadow energy into Lhikan, which was deadly. Lhikan was dying, but he gave his Mask of Shielding to Vakama for safekeeping. Vakama then learned how to use his Mask of Concealment. He stopped Makuta from his getting claws on the Vahi by shooting Vahi out of Makuta’s claws and it sunk into the sea. Makuta got angry and then used the Hand to try to get Vakama in revenge, but Vakama kept dodging the attack by tricking Makuta into getting some rock pillars. Vakama then tricked Makuta into getting a bigger pillar to hurt himself by slamming into a wall. While Makuta is greatly weakened, the other Toa Metru reunited with Vakama and then the whole team combined their elemental powers to create a Toa Seal to imprison Makuta, the same thing that the Toa Mata used to imprisoned the Bahrag in the 2002 storyline. After the threat was defeated, the Toa got all of the Matoran and then brought them to the island of Mata Nui. The Toa sacrificed their power to awaken the Matoran from their sleep in the Matoran Pods, and this caused the Toa to turn into the Turaga of Mata Nui. The Matoran got shrunk and weaker a little when they were in the Pods. When one of the Matoran named Jaller’s mask broke, Vakama used Lhikan’s mask to give Jaller back his strength. That’s where the Turaga started their new life on Mata Nui, as they turned the Pods into their villages and ruled over the Matoran way before the 2001 storyline happened. However, there is something in between Makuta’s defeat and the new settlement in the island of Mata Nui, and that’s where the 2005 storyline happened. To celebrate, let me ask you this: What are your fond memories about the storyline and/or what do you like about it? For me, I like the canister sets. They look cool, and I love their vast range of new pieces. I like the Toa Metru’s new heads, where you don’t have to lose their masks easily. Plus, I like that they have bendable limbs, both arms and legs, but how the torso is designed is weird because it’s V-shaped in the chest, but you could make the Toa look like that they are running. Lol. Anyway, I like their new weapons and how you can store them and do multiple functions with them. The Disk launchers in general are neat because that they keep the discs tighter than the 2001 Matoran’s hands can. The Toa’s masks are neat. However, the Toa Metru don’t have unique secondary colors, like the Toa Mata/Toa Nuva, as they have gray parts. As for the Vahki, they look cool. It’s neat that you can turn them into four-legged insects. Plus, you can shoot Kanoka Disks from their mouths. As for the small sets, which are the Toa Metru’s Matoran helpers, well, they look cool. Again, nice new pieces, including the limbs and the triangle-shaped torsos, but the colors are the same problem sort of. It’s neat that their masks look like they are switched from 2001 in a sense for variety on the new Matoran and that they have silver parts blended on the masks. Plus, it’s cool that there are both Great and Noble versions of the Turaga’s masks from 2001. Also, these Matoran are from Mata Nui Online Game 2 in 2003. As for the Titan sets, they look neat. I like Krekka’s launcher and how it can retract. I am not fond of his arms, though. I wonder what would he look like with he had kept his lost eye. Nidhiki looks cool. I like his claws, insect legs, his shooting mouth, and how he can change from centaur shape to crab shape. His limbs look kind of lanky, though. For the Turaga Dume and Niwark pack, that is a neat set. Dume looks cool, but looks more of a Matoran than a Turaga. Lol. I like Niwark’s clawed feet and the function on his torso to carry Dume around. His wings look weird, though. There is the Lhikan & Kikanalo set. That’s neat, too. I like Lhikan’s mask, big swords, and gold armor. It’s cool that he can combine his swords into a shield. I like the Rahi. He looks cool. I like his claws and horn and the use of the Chronicler’s Staff head pieces on the head, but some of his joints are kind of stiff. Sad thing is that Lhikan and the Rahi never worked together in the story. As for the combo Titan set, Ultimate Dume, which is Makuta’s winged Titan form and is a combination of Krekka, Nidhiki, and Dume & Niwark, that looks awesome! I like the wings, teeth, and claws, and he’s very tall! I like that he has a version of Makuta’s Mask of Shadows, which is design to fit over his big head. I also like that it looks kind of like the 2003 version. He looks kind of lanky, though. There’s a pack that gives you some Kanoka Disks. That’s neat, as you would want to collect these disks because there are many different kinds of them. The plant monster is not officially a Lego set, but in a Lego magazine from Europe, there is a sponge toy based on it. That’s weird, but alright. Next, the combo models. Well, they are cool and alright. The centaur-like combo model, which is made of Vakama, Onewa, and Matau, looks neat. I like the tail and blades. The other model with the other three Toa Metru, which looks like a penguin, looks alright, and I like the claws. There’s also the six-Toa-Metru model, which looks awesome! Ain’t she a beauty? I like how she has the colors and tools of the whole Toa team! The combo models for the Matoran look alright and cool, too. I like that you can shoot Kanoka Disks from one of them. They both look cute as well. The Vahki combo models look awesome! The Lorahk model, which is made of Nidhiki and Dume & Niwark, looks cool, but kind of lanky. I wish that Lego could have provided instructions on the Toa Metru’s Toa Kaita (never happened in the story, but would be nice in many ways), the Matoran’s Matoran Nui (featured in the story only), and Krekka could combine with Nidhiki and Dume & Niwark individually, if you know what I mean. It would also be nice to see what Nidhiki looks like as a Toa, and released that form as a set. I also wish that there are five other Toa Disks rather than the Fire one in Vakama’s set. Overall, for the sets, they look cool and neat. I like the Disk launchers. However, the gray color is overused. For the story and media, well, I think it’s very great. The story is told through books primarily, comics, and a direct-to-video movie called Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui. Plus, there is an online game where you play as Vakama to fight against the plant monster by shooting its vines with Vakama’s disk launcher. There was originally a video game that is a sequel to Bionicle: The Game in 2003, but that got cancelled for some reason, probably because the first game didn’t go so well. There’s also a handheld game called Bionicle: Maze of Shadows, but it’s in 2005. I like the Toa Metru because they are cool people, and I understand that they are rookies when they are learning how to be Toa. Matau is a funny guy. I feel bad about Vakama’s self doubts about himself being a Toa and he had been seeing nightmarish visions. We get to learn a lot about how the Turaga of Mata Nui learn about the experiences in 2001-2003. Lhikan is a good character. I see that he was trying to be a good teacher for the Toa Metru. I like the villains. They’re cool. Nidhiki and Krekka make a good comical duo. I feel about about them getting eaten by Makuta. Poor guys. Makuta was always sinister and good at planning, and it’s sad to see that he put Mata Nui to sleep. That’s horrifying. It’s cool that he can use the Shadow Hand to grab and eat beings and stuff, which is scary to look at. It’s scary that Nidhiki called Lhikan his “brother”, which made me question who he was until that I learned that he was once a Toa. It’s sad to think about it. Krekka is a funny guy who is dumb. It’s interesting that the Kikanalo are ran by a chief, and that they helped the Toa Metru on their journey. It’s also interesting that the Matoran shrunk from their Metru Nui forms to Mata Nui forms. The 2004 Matoran are alright. One of The is the notorious Ahkomu, the very bad guy who made his people sick in Mata Nui Online Game in 2001. He should have learned better. The Vahki are cool. Overall, it’s a good prequel, it has very good character development, and it’s cool to learn about the Turaga’s origins and how masks are made. It’s one of my favorite storylines. So, guys, what are your fond memories of the storyline, what do you like about it, what’s your favorite 2004 set, favorite character(s) in 2004, favorite moment in the storyline, what things remind you of the 2004 storyline, and/or how would you celebrate it? For me, well, my favorite sets are Vakama, Matau, Whenua, Nidhiki, Krekka, Ultimate Dume, and the red, blue and black Vahki, and my favorite characters are Matau, Whenua, Makuta, Nidhiki, and Krekka. The things that remind me are: 1. X-Men: First Class in 2011 - kind of similar. 2. Hero Factory - How Preston Stormer looked at Thresher as his teacher is like how Vakama looked at Lhikan. Plus, the Queen Beast reminds me of Nidhiki. 3. Bionicle 2015-2016 - Skull Slicer’s game reminds me of the Coliseum. Plus, Master Tahu’s swords are like Lhikan’s, but more connected, I would say. 4. Ninjago - How the early Elemental Masters experiences their encounters with various threats.
  7. I'm offering a full set of a Toa Metru, including instructions and canisters. I'm looking to get €40 or $45 for the entire lot. PM me for details if you're interested.
  8. I was recently looking at my Toa Metru Canisters, and I remembered that some Toa Metru canister lids had glitter and some did not have glitter. Does anyone know why this is?
  9. “Vakama…” Vakama began to stir from the strange voice. In his half-awake state, he felt that, somehow, the voice was familiar to him. “Vakama, arise…” Mostly awake now, Vakama fumbled around on his mask, trying to find the switch for his filtration unit, mumbling subtle curses on whoever had mixed up and sent fumes from the Great Furnace into the air ducts to his living quarters a few months ago. Ready for the new day, disengaged the ventilation unit on his mask and took a deep breath… Which filled his lungs with the stasis fluid surrounding him. He panicked and flailed about, thinking he was drowning for a few moments in his unfamiliar surroundings before re-engaging his ventilation unit and accustoming himself to breathing the medicinal substance. He hurriedly felt around the darkened space he was in, noting the curved walls were indicative of a healing canister, though, with no transparent wall, it was clear this one was… different. As he passed his hands along the inside of the chamber, part of the surface gave way, emitting a bright red light, startling Vakama. To add to his confusion and panic, he soon found his canister being tipped over. Whatever was keeping the fluid locked in the canister suddenly gave way, as Vakama shortly found himself blinded by light, coughing up stasis gunk and feeling quite cold. “Wha-where…?” Vakama muttered to himself, trying to get his bearings from the large entryway that was once the top of his canister, though his view was mostly blocked by a figure posing, which he supposed was intended to look heroic. “Ah, another Toa to join in our ranks!” The figure looked backwards as another figure, larger and lopsided, walked forwards, looking into the canister as well. “Nokama says we look like Toa. That doesn’t mean we are…” The new figure absentmindedly rubbed his disproportionately large arm. After a few moments, he turned to Vakama and reached inside. “Come on, let’s get you out of here.” He hooked his large hand around Vakama’s body, pulling him out of the canister and setting him onto his own two feet. With his surroundings changed again, Vakama took some time to figure out where exactly he was. The ceiling was ribbed, with eight circular gaps in between each of the support struts. The walls were curved, dome-shaped, with circular portholes covering most of it. Stone and metal were melded together in such a way so that the piping seemed to grow straight from the sides. Underneath the gaps in the ceiling, the floor had raised sockets, most of which currently held canisters not unlike the one he just been pulled out of. Evidence of Stone, Iron, and Fire sector craftmanship. If he were to have to guess, based on what he read of history books, Vakama would have say… Tenth era, Krom-style architecture. Placing them in or around the Great City’s center. Try as he might, Vakama did not find a discernible exit. “Hey… is the new guy alright?” The bright light-stones embedded in the ceiling let him properly see the strangers around him. The first figure to appear at his canister was green in coloration, indicative of the Jungle sector. The mask he wore was slightly rectangular, and extended far over the top of his head. He was also not wearing any armor at all. Now that Vakama looked around, he realized no one was wearing armor, their organic components all exposed. That explains why he was feeling cold. “Uh… where’s my armor?” “Same place as mine, I suppose.” Mumbled the large, lopsided one. “We’re all as naked as the day we were built!” The green one exclaimed, a big, stupid smile plastered on his face. Vakama made a mental note to attempt to ignore the green one for the time being. What the big one said made sense. If they were all in medical canisters, surely someone had to have removed their armor so the stasis fluid could heal- or change- them however it needed to. “Well, uh, I suppose… introductions are in order?” The big one outstretched his larger hand to Vakama, before realizing his error and switching it for his smaller, normal-sized left hand. “I’m Whenua. I work… or, well, I think I still work in the archives.” Vakama, after a few misses, managed to shake his hand. “Vakama. Forge-work. Mostly disk and mask-making.” “Still trying to get used to the taller body, I see!” The green one jumped into the conversation. (Almost quite literally.) To Vakama’s dismay, Whenua stepped back from the two, letting him take center stage. “Took me a few tries, but I got the hang of it! I’m Matau, wise, resourceful, and ever-energetic!” Great. “That beautiful blue scholar over there is the lovely Nokama.“ She rolled her eyes, put on a smile, and waved to the two of them. Matau, of course, waved back, grin bigger than ever. “She was the first of us to wake up, followed by yours truly.” “The brown fellow sitting there with the I-am-really-annoyed-by-Matau-look on his face is Onewa!” Matau pointed to the final member of their odd company, “The icy guy in the corner hasn’t spoken one bit yet, but I’m gonna make him talk and be friendly if it’s the-” “Nuju.” “Uh. Okay… That’s Nuju! The cold, icy, and… slightly scary.” The aperture in Nuju’s eyepiece contracted, stared down the offending citizen of the jungle sector, then turned to Vakama. “Ingrown.” Vakama stared blankly, puzzled at the odd, seemingly random word. Nuju sighed. “Our old armor is now ingrown. Covered in new organic components.” He tapped his chest for emphasis. “We have been changed” Vakama let out a short laugh. “Well of course. But into what, exactly? I can’t exactly go home and try and act like nothing’s changed about me.” The room was silent. Apparently this hadn’t occurred to anyone else. That, or they didn’t want to think about it. “But, isn’t that a good thing?” Matau asked. His happy-go-lucky demeanor dropped like a stone. “Think about it. We’ve been given a chance. We’re Toa now, those fated to become heroes!” “Matau.” Nokama spoke. “I said we looked like Toa. Yes, most of us are the right build. But there are some… ” She paused, glancing at Whenua, then gesturing to the cansiters and the rest of the room. “…Differences from how we know Toa come to be. They are built as Toa, and die as Toa. They come from somewhere over the Great Ocean, and when they come, their numbers vary. But there are never six sent to any of the islands. Never six toa. The only group of six Toa will come from the stars!” Vakama nodded. Everyone had heard of The Prophecy of Ekimu. “Did we come from the stars? Or over the sea? Nuju, Onewa, and Whenua met each other before this! By our own admission, we were just Tekoans before… before whenever this happened.” “But, if we aren’t Toa,” Onewa began, standing up. “Why can I do this?” He clenched his fist and made a downwards pulling motion. With a rumbling, His seat was quickly pulled into the stone floor underneath them. He turned back to the shocked group. “The stones just… call to me. I somehow… knew I can control them. I don’t know how I knew… but I must have this ability for a reason, right? Toa have elemental powers, don’t they?” “Lhikan could control and create fire. Tuyet could form ice wherever she touched.” Vakama offered. He didn’t really pay much attention to what the Toa could do. Well, when they were still around. After they started vanishing, many people from the different sectors started trying to investigate the disappearances, though many who searched… well… “You could just be the only one of us who is a Toa.” Whenua mumbled. “Or I could be the only one who isn’t.” “But that still doesn’t account for how we were once Tekoans! Having powers could mean anything! Toa are built as Toa. You don’t become a Toa!” Nokama was clearly adamant on her stance. “Whatever we are, we are not Toa.” “…Who cares?” Matau asked, shrugging. “We look like Toa.” He pointed to Onewa. “He, at least, has the powers of a Toa. No one outside will ever know the difference. We can still be heroes!” Even Nokama paused at that one. He was right. Even if they weren’t Toa, they were given this opportunity, they could use it. “I found armor. And tools. Follow me.” The group was so embroiled in their argument, they didn’t even notice the quiet Nuju had slipped out of the room and returned. They followed him down a large and surprisingly cold corridor, with Whenua following close behind Nuju, and Vakama and Matau shivering in the back. Vakama seemed to be the most affected by the chill of the cavernous passage, and not being used to his new legs did not help him keep pace with those in front. Matau, on the other hand, lagged behind because he kept on tripping over rocks he couldn’t see, with every trip bringing a new line of curses. Vakama found he had never heard most of them before, and, judging from Onewa’s chuckles and Nokama’s glances of disapproval, were very, very profane. “How did you find the exit?” Nokama spoke up, drawing everyone’s attention away from Matau for the time being. “Secret mechanism.” Nuju pointed to Onewa. “His seat.” After many twists and turns, with multiple branches to the path going who knows where, it dawned on Vakama that there was no natural way Nuju had been able to take to this supposed armory. The only thing that made sense to him was that, somehow, the labyrinth had called to him. The tunnel had led them into a great room twice the size of the one they had woken up in. The same circular portholes lined the walls, carrying sets upon sets of armor, tools and weapons within them. The center was raised, circular in shape, with arches along its side, revealing that the interior was hollow. Walking up the steps jutting out from it revealed that the top of it was like a bowl, with a gutter leading off the other side into rectangular depressions in the floor. Surrounding it were seven smaller raised sections, flat and solid, with the eighth open at the top, their hexagonal shape jarring with the rest of the room, . They looked though the old sets of armor, each attempting to find a fitting set for themselves. It soon became apparent that only a few pieces of the available armor were compatible with their specific armor-plugs. The rest of the armor wasn’t even wearable, some pieces seemed to even be torn in two. They found shoulder plates, gauntlets and greaves that fit on most everyone, even Whenua found coverings for his massive arm. Vakama was the only one that found a fitting chest-piece for himself, with a vented bevor positioned just slightly above the center of his chest. The others were not so lucky. The light-stones in the walls burned a bright red-orange, illuminating the room like the furnaces Vakama had worked in all his life. He turned to the center of the room, recognizing the intended purpose of the raised portion. It was a furnace… and it was…calling to him. He pulled a forge-staff from one of the portholes, and, like in a trance, Vakama used the it as a lever to pull one of the light-stones from the wall, took it to the furnace, and smashed it. Flames licked up from the broken crystal, igniting the smelting furnace. “Come on, help me get this stuff into the top.” Vakama grunted, lifting rusted pieces and dumping them into the basin. The others, after some time and passing looks to each other, followed suit, picking up more and more, until Vakama gave the word. “Okay, I think that’s enough.” “Yeah, that’s great and all, fire-spitter, but enough for what?” Matau wheezed. Even Whenua looked tired from carrying all the junk pieces to the top. “Armor.” Vakama replied, engaging his ventilation unit as the fumes started to rise. “Didn’t you say you only did masks and disks?” Nokama asked, also trying to catch her breath. “First time for everything!” Using the tongs segment like an ink well, he dipped the tip into the molten metal, pulling up a good amount into the disk reservoir. He plunged the burning mess into the open pedestal, the quenching tank bubbling and gurgling. Vakama drew the new disk out of the tank, the silver quenching liquid dripping off the beveled shape. Type-7, repair and regeneration. Duration and uses: indefinite. Perfect for incorporating into armor. As Matau alternated entertaining and annoying the rest of the group with stories and jokes, Vakama poured molten metal from the foundry into ingot molds. From there, he hammered and bent them over the hexagonal anvils until they matched their desired form. With each new piece of armor, he added in a part of the disk. The satisfying hiss of armor-plugs into their sockets proved that Vakama had done his job well, each piece fitting its respective owner as if they were built into it. Glowing patterns splayed out from the each of the incorporated disk fragments, slowly spreading coloration of their respective owner’s native element across the chest-plate. “Wow…” Whenua tapped his new armor in amazement of how even the right side was beveled outwards to be able to comfortably fit his odd form. “Adequate.” commented Nuju. Probably the best complement anyone could have received from him. “I like the style, but its color doesn’t match my-” Onewa at this point physically restrained Matau from completing his joke. “They’re wonderfully made, Vakama,” Nokama said for the whole company, “Thank you.” “I have some metal left over. I’d like put it to some use… I could make weapons or something. If you don’t mind waiting a bit longer.” “Swords! Swords are a must-have!” Matau had broken free of Onewa’s grasp, and was now spouting random facts about uses of different types of swords. “Okay, okay. I’ll make you some swords,” Vakama held up his hand, signaling Matau to be quiet. “Anyone else?” “Ice-pick batons.” Nuju requested, “Climbing should be primary function.” The others were content with choosing a weapon or tool from the armory. “In the meantime, anyone who wants to help me find the exit is welcome to join me.” Nokama called to the team. All but Whenua went with her, Onewa and Matau attempting to strike up conversations with Nuju as they exited the room. The exploration party left the room and returned multiple times, still unable to find the real exit. “Whelp. That was a bust. It’s really dark back there. Someone used to that kind of darkness could really come along…” Matau said pointedly. Whenua, who had been watching Vakama work intently up until this point, sighed and got up from his seat, joining the rest of the party. Vakama was slightly glad to be by himself, the only noises that of the hammer against the metal and quenching liquid hissing against the hot metal. After he had finished the Matau’s swords and Nuju’s ice batons, he took the time to look over the tools the others had picked out. Nokama had picked out an odd set of tools… or were they weapons? The blade end was shaped like a crescent moon, attached to a hilt and guard, two triggers placed were the index finger would go when wielded. Some sort of cylinder was in the middle of the blade, perhaps housing some sort of chain, or rope. Whenua chose a weaponized gauntlet with a motorized chisel at the end of the knuckles. A ‘thumper,’ of sorts, like the kind the archivists use to drive away creatures from the archives. Onewa chose a mace-and-chain, large and relatively simple, the handle end having a small stone-carving hammer attached to it. Vakama had taken his time, trying to determine which tool he would use to define himself as a toa. Despite all his thinking, he had decided on the forge-staff he had picked up. He examined the beautiful hammer-tongs combination, silver gears, levers and switches lining its side, each one performing a different function. What he would have given to have had this when Elder Dume commissioned him to make a mask… He had completely forgotten about that. It would have been his life’s work, the masterpiece of everything he had ever forged. He couldn’t just abandon the project just because he had changed, he could still finish it, he just needed- “Yo, Vakama, buddy, we found the exit! Let’s go!” Matau called, slinging his new swords around his waist, re-positioning them onto his back, then back around his waist, trying to figure out which one made him look cooler. “Seriously, Vakama.” Onewa looked stern, “You need to see this.” As he followed the other five carefully down the pitch-black corridor, Whenua in the lead, he got the feeling that everyone was unsettled by what they had seen outside. Outside the great temple’s doors, Vakama saw what had disturbed his new allies. Blockades covered most of the streets, forcing citizens to funnel through controlled lanes. Above them, projected onto the side of a crystalline building, was Elder Dume’s face, a recording of his voice broadcast in such a way that it seemed as if he could be talking right in front of them. “… We now have confirmation of… disruptors in our midst, representations of the outside world, synonymous with the darkest vices of violence, ignorance and decay. Bear with your loyal Vahki guardians, as they will soon rectify this incursion. If they ask you to do anything for them, please comply, as it will certainly aid in the capture of these dissidents. Remember, despite it being a regrettable action, our city has closed its borders for your protection, to prevent such anti-citizens from continuing to invade our land. This city is a gleaming beacon of purity and stability, and I believe it is in all our best interests to keep it as such. Keep our city pure. Keep it safe. If you see something strange, something out of the ordinary, report it to your local Vahki protectors. Civic deeds will be greatly rewarded. Should we fail to uphold our laws, even if it seems like the right thing to do, the consequences could be… cataclysmic.” As the recording started to repeat, the group suddenly became aware of all the stares they were getting, all the fingers pointing their way, whispers and murmurs travelling from person to person. A few citizens walked in the opposite direction from where they were going, presumably on their way to alert Vahki guards. --------- Review Topic
  10. Hello everybody, here are my virtual re-imaginations of the Toa Metru! (images are clickable) Thank you for your attention! EDIT: Here comes Vakama! EDIT1: Added Matau! And with that, the team is gathered!
  11. I'm looking to obtain a second full set of Toa Metru Mini CDs, available with the Toa Metru sets from 2004. Very few of those seem to be available online, but it is my impression that a lot of folks have them lying around. I'd prefer to buy them all at once from a single person, but I will consider buying them individually, so please go ahead and let me know if you have any of them and we can settle a deal. Also, it is my annual obligation to ask if anyone's got the Toa Nuva CD or the Toa Inika Mini CD. For those two in particular, I am willing to offer a VERY good price, as they have been eluding me for years. Please don't hesitate to tell me if you own either one.
  12. Story by Jack-The-Writer Cover and Other Artwork by Saronicle Review Topic Prologue Gathered friends, listen again to our legend of the Bionicle. In the time before time, the Great Spirit descended from the heavens, carrying we, the ones called the Matoran, to an island paradise, illuminating us with the three virtues: unity, duty, and destiny. We embraced these gifts, and in gratitude, named our island home Mata Nui, after the Great Spirit himself. However, all was not well. Mata Nui’s brother, the Makuta, betrayed Mata Nui, casting him into a deep slumber. Makuta unleashed his shadows across the island, and all seemed lost. But all hope was not lost, for legends foretold of six mighty heroes, Toa, who would vanquish the evil Makuta and his shadows, and awaken Mata Nui: Gali, Toa of Water. Tahu, Toa of Fire. Kopaka, Toa of Ice. Onua, Toa of Earth. Pohatu, Toa of Stone. Lewa, Toa of Air. And they were victorious, defeating the evil Makuta and all the terrible menaces he unleashed. Makuta unleashed the Rahi, and the Toa found the Masks of Power, defeating the Makuta and saving the Matoran. Then the Makuta unleashed the Bohrok, and the Toa united to defeat their leaders, the Bahrag, gaining new and greater power, becoming Toa Nuva. With these new powers, they were able to combat more dangerous threats, like the Bohrok-Kal, and Makuta’s sons, the Rahkshi. Then, the Mask of Light was discovered, and Takanuva, the Toa of Light, appeared, defeating Makuta and reopening the way to the ancient home of the Matoran: Metru Nui, where, long ago, another team of Toa rescued the Matoran after the Makuta’s betrayal, despite being branded fugitives and being turned into monstrous versions of themselves by the Visorak. After the return to Metru Nui, Mata Nui’s life was discovered to be in danger, and with this new danger, new heroes arose. Six Matoran from Metru Nui journeyed to the dangerous island of Voya Nui to find the legendary Mask of Life, becoming Toa to fulfill their destiny. After braving the trials to reach the mask, they defeated the nefarious Piraka, only for the mask to plunge down into the depths of the sea. Despite, nothing would stop the Toa. They descended deep into the dark ocean, transformed into Toa Mahri, and fought the Barraki, imprisoned warlords, and Toa Matoro sacrificed himself in order to save the Greast Spirit’s life. The Toa Nuva descended into Karda Nui, the core of the universe, in order to fulfill their destiny and awaken Mata Nui. There they met with resistance from the Brotherhood of Makuta’s highest ranks. With the aid of the Mask of Life itself, the Makuta were defeated and Mata Nui awoken. But all was not as it seemed, for the Makuta’s plan had succeeded. While Mata Nui was dead, his mind had slipped in and taken the place of Mata Nui’s, making Makuta the ruler of a universe. He exiled Mata Nui, imprisoning him in the Mask of Life and banishing him from the universe. The Mask of Life drifted through space before crashing on the world of Bara Magna. He fashioned himself a body, and worked with the Agori and Glatorian, the inhabitants of the planet, to attempt to find his way back to his people. While there, he freed the Agori and Glatorian from the tyranny of the Skrall, and discovered a prototype robot built by the Great Beings, which had become buried in the sands of Bara Magna over a hundred millennia. Traveling north, he entered the Valley of the Maze to retrieve the power source for the robot. Mata Nui placed his consciousness into the robot and activated it, hoping to use it to combat the Makuta. But Makuta was aware of Mata Nui’s doings, and flew to Bara Magna to confront his brother. What ensued was a great battle as the once-brothers fought. Makuta released Rahkshi and legions of Skakdi onto the surface of Bara Magna to destroy the Agori and Glatorian, but the Toa managed to escape the universe as well, and Tahu used the legendary golden armor to defeat the Rahkshi. The Rahkshi’s destruction gave Mata Nui an opening, and he pushed Teridax into the path of Aqua Magna, a moon of Bara Magna returning to its original position, killing him instantly. With Teridax defeated, Mata Nui fulfilled his destiny, and used the last of the robot’s energy to reform Spherus Magna. His destiny fulfilled, he retreated into the Mask of Life, leaving the Matoran, Toa, Agori, and Glatorian with a last request: find the Great Beings. But that task would not be as simple as it appeared. Teridax may have been dead, but new evil would follow in his wake. And it did; three evils moved across the land: one, bent on destruction, one bent on subjugation, one with motives unknown. Now comes the time when all, Matoran and Agori, Toa and Glatorian, must work together or be defeated. The time has come for our heroes to face the ultimate test.
  13. It's been forever since I've drawn anything and I've been getting sucked into the Bionicle fandom (and this site) all over again, so have a sketchdump! From left to right: Human!Nokama, Nuju doing pushups with Matau in the """"background"""", Human!Vakama, some Toa Nuva bod, and two characters from this comic I used to do on BZP. A very long time ago. Hopefully I'll be motivated to post finished work sometime, lawl.
  14. The number of Toa Stones which any one Toa can create once they have fulfilled their destiny has always confused me, basically because: A. In 2004, Lhikan used his Toa Power to create six Toa Stones. B. In 2008 (I think), in the Kingdom alternate universe, alternate Takanuva also created six Toa Stones. C. In 2005, the Toa Metru each created one Toa Stone. Is this something to do with how much Toa Power a Toa has, or is it just a story error? Mainly because, if in the future of BIONICLE, the Nuva each sacrificed their Toa Power to create new Toa, essentially 30 new Toa would be added to the total number alive, if each Nuva can produce six Toa Stones. Am I the only one who thinks that this is weird?
  15. I was thinking to myself "What would Titan Takanuva look like if his armor was back to gold again?" So following Vaal's Forge and Foundry http://www.odysseyhouseonline.com/VMFF_Main_Gate.html (albeit, not as well as he would do it) and I got this (btw, all the photos resolutions are too large, so everything is going to be linked, sorry): Before (sorry for the lighting): http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0043_zpsc72de47d.jpg and after: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0052_zpsf40ff560.jpg And the pieces that I recolored: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0046_zpsa4becffd.jpg Not impressive but I think that is more how Takanuva's armor is supposed to look like after he gets hit by the Klakk. (Sorry for the lack of dark gold like the older version.) I then thought to myelf, "Why not redo some of the armor on my character Tahrann?" So that's what I did (I know, he is pretty much just Tahu Nuva with a few different pieces): http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0056_zps37dbfe5f.jpg But at looking at him, I said "Meh, Nuva forms are so late 90's." So I bought a few pieces from Bricklink and recolored those (yes this is pretty much a recolor of Lhikan): http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0060_zpsc76f0b85.jpg And the armor, sorry for the resolution: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0059_zps07bbbf69.jpg Gotta admit, gold and red layering worked better than expected, though i thought a gold mask with a splash of red around the mouth would look a bit too... "intense". So nothing too exciting, but if yall ever wondered what a bit of spraypaint could do for you, then you could take something old and make it awesome. Edit: Tahrann 2.1: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0061_zpsf2517e81.jpg That's right, a Toa Nuva chest piece on Toa Metru body (thanks to this: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/229415) http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w156/minitahu/IMAG0062_zps8723815f.jpg The chest piece actually came out more red than intended. Mostly because after I had it perfect, my dad accidentally knocked it off of the work bench and took off a layer of the spraypaint, so... it's red.... But he looks every bit of the hero I intended him to be. A good question though, should I keep or do away with the sportscup codpiece? P.S. Buy Rustoleum, much better than Krylon. P.S.S. If yall are interested into a somewhat lore friendly backstory to my character, I'll type one out, but otherwise I'm too lazy.
  16. I was on the Matoran Civil War page on BS01, and I noticed something about the sides. Po-Metru, Le-Metru, and Ko-Metru aligned together, while Ta-Metru, Onu-Metru, and Ga-Metru formed the other alliance. Going forward another 80,000 years or so, the Toa Metru emerge. From the outset, Onewa and Matau strongly disliked Vakama, while Nokama strongly favored him. Whenua leaned slightly towards Vakama, while Nuju leaned slightly away from him. This is exactly how the Matoran Civil War turned out, and this points to island-wide racism between the Metru, because these disagreements between the Toa started as soon as they met, which points to them being predisposed to these opinions. Thoughts on this? Other instances of this sort?
  17. ^ clickable thumbnail (184 kB) larger image ( 415 kB) Out of all Toa Metru, Nokama has always been my favourite. Possibly due to her design, particularly the mask, which has always had something... alien about it. To me, at least. Apart from that... yay for more Bionicle art? :3 Edit: almost forgot to point out that I really recommend looking at the larger version, as it looks a bit better that way. =3
  18. The Turaga's hand hovered over the paper, trepidant and remorseful. For centuries he had watched his city grow into a thriving metropolis full of happy, successful matoran enjoying their lives, but this-- this was not a decision to make lightly. The petition he had written himself, of course. Nobody else would have the audacity to suggest the crimes he was about to make into indisputable law, backed with the military might of the Vahki. But then, none of the decisions he was forced to make were ever easy, and they rarely ended well. He needed to do this one thing right to redeem himself, if not for his own conscience, then for the good of his loyal citizens. Ah, the matoran. Turaga Dume smiled sadly and stepped away from the paper for a moment, still clutching the pen tightly, his hand moving forward with a tremble as his legs pulled him back. He remembered being part of the noble proletariat so many centuries ago, honoured to work with his brothers in the glory of the forges. He remembered enjoying the simple life, the satisfaction of a job well finished and the inexplicable relief at returning home after dark through the streets lined with perfectly wrought lanterns. The city worked, it thrived, and when the time had come, he protected it to the best of his ability with pride as a great toa. His retirement came as he felt his destiny calling him to lead the matoran into an era of ever more magnificent peace and prosperity as a turaga, mentor and friend to those he had come to love. No, of course he hadn't been perfect. How silly it would be to disillusion himself like that. There was always a time when wisdom and valour may fail, and he had seen the darkest of those times. But as the saying goes, faith... ah, what did it matter. No hero can save everyone, right? There were times that he had called in others to defend the city. An island so grand couldn't last forever without drawing the attention of unscrupulous creatures and natural error. Dume suppressed a small chuckle in his throat. He hadn't seen the fight when the Nui Dragon broke loose, but he heard it took a team with three toa of ice to bring it down. The three most valiant of that team he had asked to stay as protectors of the city. A Ta-matoran from the very forges where Dume once worked, and indeed, one whose life he had saved many years ago, was now a Toa of fire, the very embodiment of duty. The second was a toa of water, rational and controlled, one whose face practically glowed with the virtue of destiny. The last was a toa of air whose honour and camaraderie was flawless, the picture of unity. Oh, how they would change. Dume's city, his very legacy he had entrusted to the caring and virtuous hands of the noble toa. Their dedication to the three virtues could not have been more clear. Dume could only watch in horror as the three guardians proved themselves far, far less than heroes. How easily the three virtues could be forgotten. Unity broken through betrayal as the Toa of air gave his brother to the open mouths of Dark Hunters. Duty maligned as cowardice forced the betrayed brother into hiding, leaving the object of his sworn protection to die. Destiny consumed by madness and unflinching murder as a peaceful Toa littered the streets with the corpses of her brothers and sisters. Toa could not be trusted. It was clear that the legends of toa no longer held any merit as they were severed from the virtues that bound them all together. In their place, Dume constructed an army who would obey him if nothing else. His unflinching morals and commitment to the protection of his people would keep them from straying into anarchy. Metru-Nui needed no toa, for toa could corrupt, and toa could certainly kill. The thoughts and memories made Turaga Dume sick. He flicked the pen open and took a decisive step back to his desk, deftly marking the petition and even creasing the page a bit. Toa could not be trusted. This was all he could do to protect the matoran, even if it meant sacrificing six more. A tear pooled in the corner of his eye, but he blinked it back and firmed his stance, tightening his jaw to keep his constitution. Information wanted leading to the capture and arrest of traitors to the glorious city of Metru-Nui. Whenua, the Archivist. Nuju, the Scholar...
  19. Hello everyone! It is I, Lewa0111 Nuva, back to the forums once again! As you are probably aware if you've read my blog or the first chapter of TNI, I've decided to rewrite the early chapters of most of my first comedies, since the old chapters were terribly low-quality and embarrassing, especially by my current standards. After the first few chapters, the remainder of the chapters of this comedy will be reposted mostly verbatim from the original so I can get right away to work writing new chapters! Unfortunately, as a result of the hackings/archive purge, the original classic is no longer available online. I am working on ways to restore it, but for now I suppose we'll have to make do with our memories. 'Tis a sad day. Also, even though these chapters are remakes of the original chapters, I will be accepting new questions for Matau! I will still be using the original questions sent in for the chapters I'm rewriting, but in addition to that I will also add new questions to the chapters if I receive them. Any "storyline" segments of the comedy will remain the same, though, and the characters and their amusing quirks will likewise stay the same. So, let's begin! Ask Matau! A BIONICLE comedy by Me! Chapter 1: Embarrassing Moments *Matau is seated behind an empty desk in the living room of his house, which has several large posters of himself on the walls* Matau: HELLO, BZ-NUI! ...I always wanted to loud-shout that. Welcome to Ask Matau! That's the show where you send me questions and I answer them in hilarious ways! So, first things first, let's begin. Computer, how many messages for--hey, wait a second! Where's my computer? Orkahm: It still hasn't been delivered yet, Matau! Matau: Where'd you come from? You're not even in this comedy! Orkahm: I thought this was Ask Orkahm, no? Matau: ...No, it isn't. Orkahm: Oh, sorry. *leaves* Matau: Why did he just throw leaves at me? Oh well. *brushes off the leaves* Anyway, if I don't have a computer, I suppose there's nothing left to do but wait for the Metru Nui Postal Service Matoran to show up! *A Vohtarak walks in* Vohtarak: Hey Matau! Did the computer come in yet? I want to play MNOG! Matau: No, we're still waiting. And I already told you, you'll have to wait until my show is over, because I need the computer to answer questions with! Vohtarak: Okay, fine. Just don't forget to tell me when it comes in! *walks into kitchen* Matau: Oh, that's right. I forgot to mention that I adopted one of each Visorak after Vakama set them free. Pretty stupid of him, really, he could have had his own private army and taken over the world! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA-- Okay, that was bizarre. *Doorbell rings* Matau: *opens door* Here it is! Finally! Metru Nui Postal Service Matoran (MNPSM): One package, straight from Onu-Metru Electronics, for a Mr. Metru. Matau: My last name isn't "Metru!" But yes, that's me. MNPSM: Here you go. *drops package on Matau, who gets crushed flat by the weight and leaves* Matau: Ouch...I ordered a computer, not leaves! MNPSM: Oh, but Onu-Metru Electronics is doing a promotion. Buy one computer at W599 or higher and get a free pile of leaves! Matau: Fine, I'll douse them in cheese and feed them to Roporak I guess. Thanks, random Matoran! MNPSM: You're welcome! Bye! Matau: *pushes box off of himself* That was odd. But at least I've got my computer now! Let's open it up! *Later...* Matau: Ah, I finally got my computer set up! Time to start it up and...hey, wait a minute, it's white? What do they think this is, Ask Nuju The Nerd? Time to make some adjustments! *Matau pulls out a bottle of Metru green spray paint and uses it to spray the computer...and the walls...and the ceiling...and himself...and the whole house* Matau: Uh...maybe I got carried away? Who cares, let's just start this computer! Computer: You have 3 new messages. Matau: YOU CAN TALK!? AAAH! TALKING COMPUTER! Computer: No, I can't talk. I was just telling you how many messages there are. Matau: Oh, okay. ...Hey, wait a minute, you just talked! Just now! Computer: No I didn't! Matau: Oh, just shut up. Anyway, on to the e-mails. Computer, first question. Matau: Do I really have to answer this? Keelerak: Well, it is a show called "Ask Matau..." Matau: You Visorak are so annoying. Keelerak: Well, it's true! Matau: Doesn't make it any less annoying. Anyway, to answer your question, yes, I have gone out with Nokama. There was this one time, for example, when we went to a restaurant...actually, let's just start a flashback! [FLASHBACK] *Nokama and Matau are at a table at the "Coliseum Cafe," a really fancy restaurant, and Matau is wearing a tie* Random Matoran #35: *dressed as a waiter* What would you like to eat, sir and madam? Matau: Nokama, ladies first! Nokama: Why, thank you, Matau! Let's see, I think I'll have...hmm...well, this grilled Kane-Ra dinner looks good...actually, no, maybe the Vuata Maca salad...never mind, I think maybe...*Five hours later* Nokama: ...no, no, scratch that, I might want the Kikanalo Taco...wait, never mind, I think I prefer the... Matau: Nokama: ...no, no, wait, I've got it. I'll have the fish platter. Matau: *muttering* That took long enough... RM#35: Okay. And you, sir? Matau: I'll have the fried Muaka drumstick dinner. RM#35: Very well, let me just write down your order... *accidentally grabs Matau's tie instead of his pencil* Matau: *choking noises* Can't...breathe! Help! Nokama: > Matau, would you stop clowning around? RM#35: One...fried...Muaka...drumstick...dinner...and... Matau: Nokama...help...tie! Nokama: This isn't funny, Matau! Matau: Not...a...joke... *Kongu, seated at the table behind them, stands up and snaps a picture of Matau* Kongu: Matau: Help...me...Kongu RM#35: ...one...fish...platter... Nokama: Is something wrong, Matau? *Random Matoran #35 lets go of the tie, which smacks into Matau, slingshotting him out the window and sending him flying all the way across Metru Nui, smashing into the Prison of the Dark Hunters and smashing into Nidhiki and Krekka, and all three of them fly all the way around the world and land back in the Coliseum Cafe, landing on top of Nokama* Nokama: MATAU!! I SAID STOP CLOWNING AROUND!! Nidhiki: Oog... Krekka: Uh...what's that word I'm supposed to say when it hurts again? Oh yeah: "Ow!" Kongu: [/FLASHBACK] All Visorak: Matau: IT WASN'T FUNNY! And by the way, Kongu was in for a lot of pain that evening... Okay, enough embarrassing flashbacks, next question! Computer: Displaying Question 2. Matau: What are you talking about? I never bumped into things, ever! Computer, next ques-- Keelerak: Hold it! Here, Matau, let's watch the movie. *Keelerak pulls out a DVD of LoMN and puts it in the DVD player, skipping to a scene* Matau: That doesn't count, Nokama wasn't around! Keelerak: She was in the stands! Matau: Okay, fine. So I crashed ONCE. Big deal. Keelerak: Well? Matau: ...Okay, fine, so I crashed into something twice when Nokama was around. That doesn't mean anything! Keelerak: We'll see... *skips to another scene* Matau: Okay, I admit it! I crashed into things a lot! Happy? Oohnorak: No, you still didn't answer the question! Matau: Fine. Well, I crashed into things because I was distracted by Nokama's charm! Anybody would be distracted if she was around! Keelerak: Vakama wasn't. Matau: He was too busy blaming himself for everything, that's why. Computer, next question! Matau: Well, my most embarrassing moment? Let's see, that would have to be... *reads the rest of the question* Hey, wait a minute. Something seems suspicious. Nice try, Onewa! Computer, respond to this message. Computer: Sending your reply now. *At Onewa's house...* Onewa's Computer: You've got mail! Onewa: Awesome! I bet it's Matau's most embarrassing moment. Let's read. Onewa: Awesome, let's open that file and... Computer: You've got Literal Air Mail! Onewa: What the--AAH! *A tornado erupts from his computer and blasts him into the wall* END Bob the Word Counting Matoran: This chapter has 1,381 words. Lewa0111 Nuva
