The 1st Shadow posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsSorry he's a little late, but I had this guy and my other creepy MOC, Spookter, on display at my work for the duration of the holiday. Mostly found on small islands near Xia, the Kreaper can be found in small numbers throughout the Matoran Universe. Created by Makuta Chirox, with input from Vamprah, the Kreapers are solitary hunters with a strong dislike for others, especially members of their own species. They tend to live in caves and come out to hunt when night falls. Roodaka had these creatures in mind when she mutated Nidhiki into his insectoid form. (That last bit was inspired by my coworker, who recognized Nidhiki's traits before I did.) Ballom Nom Nom posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsFlickr A member of a fly-like insectoid race, Velzubn became a trailblazer as the first non-human member of the Galaxy Federation's xenophobic Space Police. Protected by his powered armor, Velzubn's wings give him superior maneuverability, and despite his need for a breath mask, his incredible sense of smell has assisted the capture of many a criminal. I had been wanting to make a full body for this head for a while, so here he finally is! There wasn't much medium blue to work with, but I think there was enough to get the job done. I imagine this guy fitting into the same universe as the most recent Space Police set line, where in a galaxy full of varied aliens, at least some of them should get to be heroes instead of convicts. Maybe one day Velzubn will even topple the mighty space pimp!
Waspix (2016 revamp)
Mate.397 posted a topic in Bionicle-Based Creationshttp://orig15.deviantart.net/f98b/f/2016/253/8/e/waspix_by_mate397-dah5qr6.jpg *After the events that took place on the celestial body that is referred to as 'Savage Planet' Hero Factory HQ dispatched a recovery team to help the healing of the planet. An injured inhabitant was found and taken into medical care, once healed the local was also slightly enhanced by our technology and became the representative of his planet and an honorary member of the Hero Factory crew.* Finally got around to take proper pictures of this revamp, its been gathering some dust for a while now >_> And probably the first MOC that has some system parts integrated into it (just the two on the torso), and they fit it quite well I'd say. Click posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsFinally finished with one of my main MOCs I'm sending to Brickfair Virginia to join the Karda Nui display. Also my entry to the July Flickr contest. ^ Links to Flickr Gallery ^ Krika is one of my favorite characters in Bionicle. Though for most of the story (well, the few months we knew him), he seemed like a typical cruel Makuta bent on the Toa's destruction. Then, at the last second, he tries to redeem himself with Gali with one of the more interesting conversations in the latter years of Bionicle. Not only does that make his character more interesting, but also provides some secret insights into the Makuta culture in his final moments. Still, his set wasn't great. It definitely had a more unique shape than most, but lacked posability and complexity. And I have no idea what Lego was thinking when they used those spiky pieces for the back legs. They're great pieces and all, but they don't blend with the general aesthetic of spiny ridges the rest of his armor has. Of course, I fixed that, and a few other things, making him more insect-like and more like something you would expect to crawl out of a mutagenic swamp. This creation was based on a drawing I did a while ago (you also get a preview of the terrible WIP and the Vamprah revamp I didn't get to), continuing my style of basing my designs on Bionicle art. As always, comment, critique, and enjoy!

Ballom Nom Nom posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsFlickr "Do you know praying mantis?""You're looking at him!"This is my entry for BBC Contest 64, clearly. I actually had to rush horrendously to finish and photograph this MOC yesterday, as it was the only day I had available to do so. Fun! However, it came together pretty well in the end, I'd say. He's more or less based off of the Sectoids from Xevoz (if you understand what that means, I salute you), with a color scheme inspired by the insect aliens from Galaxy Squad. ~B~

Sorry for so many pictures, but with a large, unorthodox MOC like this it's hard to get all the details into just a few. I'm really proud of this MOC, the complex angles in the thorax in particular. I'm glad TLG made Hordika chesplates, or else this MOC wouldn't exist. I think I used all of mine getting the shapes just right! Thanks for looking, be sure to comment and tell me what you think.
