    About Time

Rolling hills, lush green fields. What was once the condemning desert of Bara Magna was now a tranquil expanse resting under a star-filled sky. Where the relics of bygone warriors once lay, beautiful flowers bloomed. However, some things never changed about the landscape. Namely, the frequency of bizarre things falling from the sky. Tonight was no different. A perfect sphere of solid, protective metal, once a cocoon, now an empty shell. Over time it had been slowly drawing closer in its orbit around the planet, through the bleak vacuum of space, and now its path had reached the point of no return. It began to gain speed, falling faster and faster until it became a magnificent ball of flame, rocketing across the night sky and soaring among the stars- -before it came crashing back down to the very ocean that had evicted it all those years before. In the crashsite, below the waves, it stirred, the sides of the sphere’s body clicking out of place and drawing away to form claws, limbs. Two-toed silver feet planted themselves into the sea floor, and a mechanical figure began to take shape as it rose upon two unsteady legs. The pincers on its arms clicked together a few times as the creature’s sensors began to function once more. At last, the misty depths were illuminated by a pair of thin, slanted, ruby red eyes, which snapped open and darted around viciously in search of something, anything, that might tell of where it was. Nothing. The creature began to walk, taking shaky steps after what felt like eons without use of its legs. Bug-like, it staggered along the ocean floor, beginning its long trek to the nearest landmass. It didn’t know where it was, and it didn’t know why, but the fact that it was still functioning meant only one thing: it had a mission to complete, and, as before, it would relentlessly carry out its one and only task. Free the Bahrag. Lehvak-Kal had returned to Aqua Magna. - - - “I don’t care what safety measures you put in, you cannot let that ship lea- What do you mean it’s already left?!” After a garbled response from the other end, Traxin slammed the phone down in despair and buried his face in his hands. Guard duty, no matter how much modern technology you were armed with, was possibly the least exciting job in the entire military. You could have a gun that shoots rainbows and an eyepiece with a billion different functions that can cook toast, but none of it’s any fun if you’re just going to stand there doing nothing with it. This is exactly why Traxin pitied the guards, wherever he went. He always gave them a friendly smile in place of the usual stern respect most military men gave, in an attempt to comfort them in their post of pain and suffering. Meanwhile, he had what was often thought to be the most exciting job available, not just in the military, but in the city. He was a member of the Secret Service. The one problem with working for the Secret Service, however, was that it was secret, and nobody could know how about all the unbelievable things he had done. As such, when people asked what he did for a living, he had to tell them he was a guard. It killed him a little bit every time he had to say this. Now, though, he had just been informed that someone lower down on the chain of command had made a huge mistake. They had allowed a ship full of wide-eyed amateurs to set off into the endless ocean with no clue where they were going, thinking they were off to colonise some new land. Traxin knew that the entire crew of this ship would never be seen again, and now not only would he have to release a cover story, but he would also have to take the full-frontal assault from his own commanding officer. Leaning back in his chair, the Ta-Matoran spun around and gazed out of the window from behind his Huna, with sullen eyes. In their time on this new world, the peoples of the Matoran Universe and Bara Magna had created a utopia. A police force guarded the city now, crime had hit an all-time low, and technological advancement was reaching previously unheard of peaks. All of this was bad news for him. Now, instead of raiding terrorist hideouts and bringing power mad tyrants to their knees, he was stuck behind a desk, making phone calls and getting yelled at by people. “Quite the achievement, isn’t it?” Said a slimy voice from behind him. He whirled back around to see an Onu-Matoran with a purple Kualsi standing in his office. “I didn’t hear you come in.” “No,” the Matoran said, cocking his head, as if he was a judge and Traxin was being tested. “My name is Zarrus, Traxin.” He was about to introduce himself in return when he realised this stranger already knew his name. “Who are you, and how do you know my name?” “I know a great deal about you,” the Matoran replied, casually. “I know that you’re tired of life but afraid of dying. I can bring you the excitement you seek, with your consent.” Despite how appealing this offer seemed to be, Traxin was skeptical about the reliability of this stranger. “Who do you think you are, exactly? You waltz in here, knowing far too much about me than is healthy for you, and then expect me to accept your already shady offer without telling me the first thing about it! I would like you to kindly get the heck out of my office, if you please.” “I’m sorry you feel that way, Traxin,” the Onu-Matoran turned to leave as Traxin began to walk around the desk to confront him. “If you wish to double back on you declining of my offer, here’s all you need to know.” Without turning around, Zarrus tossed a card over his shoulder, which Traxin caught absent-mindedly. He stared after the mysterious character long after he had gone, in contemplation of what had just happened. At last, he remembered the card, and gave it a thorough inspection. No secret explosives, no acid packs, no razor-sharp edge, nothing. Only one side was even printed, which read simply: Bygone Industries Mr. H. Zarrus Wester Drumlins Visiting Hours: 18:00-06:00 Tel: 06010 210 602 - - - With the rise of modern technology and the increasing popularity of scientific advancement, sacrifices were made, and a certain breed of person was now dying out: The gentleman scientist. The thought always go Akuda’s spirits down. Perhaps all the things scientists made nowadays were more sleek and innovative, but they lacked the retro charm that decorated the Ko-Matoran’s library, and indeed the rest of his home. The entire structure was like a vast palace of wit and cleverest-man-in-the-room-ism, even down to the maroon armchair and polished walnut table that he sat at now. Opposite him, however, was something that didn’t quite fit with the rest of the house. For being a gentleman scientist certainly didn’t stop Akuda from playing chess with a robot. This was how he dealt with intruders. The mechanical ‘marvel’ had been caught trying to break in through the kitchen, and had failed miserably. Whatever anyone would want with his kitchen was beyond him, but he couldn’t care less about who wanted to steal from him. What he did care about was proving that the human brain could never be defeated by a machine. Unfortunately, he was doing rather unsuccessfully. Four moves in, and neither side had lost a piece. It was getting tense. It was the robot’s move. Queen to Knight Six. Akuda smiled. His smile broke into a grin as he reached out. Then laughter, as he took the queen and replaced it with his king. He leaned back in his chair, grinning maliciously at the clunky excuse for a being in front of him. “Even simple one-dimensional chess exposes the limitations of the machine mind,” he gloated. But then the robot made its next move, and Akuda realised he had made a horrific mistake. Bishop to Queen Six. The robot looked up at him from the board. For a moment he thought it was going to smile. “Check.” “What?!” Akuda exclaimed, frantically scanning the board in search of an escape route. “Machine mind computes mate, in six moves.” “No, no, no, no-“ BBBBRRRINNNGGG! Akuda’s heart skipped about seventy beats before he realised it was the telephone. Thank the Great Beings. Leaning over the board with narrowed eyes, he pressed his forehead against the unfeeling machine’s and growled, “I’ll be back. This isn't over.” With that, he got to his feet and strode into the next room to pick up the phone. “Hello?” “Akuda! It’s Traxin,” buzzed the deep voice at the other end. The Ko-Matoran was ecstatic at the sound of his old companion’s voice. “Traxin! Hasn't it been a while! I’m so glad you called, I need a bit of help with-“ The Ta-Matoran cut him off. “Not now, old friend. I have a proposal. For... An adventure.” Now we’re talking, thought Akuda. “An adventure, you say? What kind of adventure? What’s it all about?” “Well,” the voice said, the grin almost audible through the phone. “It’s about time.” About Time by Wotsiznaim review topic

  3. Alright, so here we are. The final epic in the Time-Keeper Saga. And (I hope) I can guarantee you that it will be very epic indeed. So, let us introduce...Prologue - The Ceremony:Incommodo looked over at Arkrak. The two Toa had been through so much, in so little time, and it appeared that at last the end was drawing near. The tragic events which had brought them to this moment had not been for nothing. They were at a ceremony, where Frustro, head of the New Guard, would be forced to give the two of them medals due to the role they had played in bringing down one of the greatest threats Spherus Magna had ever faced. However, Arkrak seemed to be the only one who was actually happy about this.Incommodo’s opinion was that these medals were worthless scraps of metal, which after this would either be left to rust on a mantelpiece, or sold for a considerable deal of money which would likely be wasted on frivolities. Mere days before this, he would have been honoured to receive such a thing, but recent events had changed his point of view.Frustro’s opinion, however, could not have been more different. He believed that these bumbling lunatics deserved straight-jackets rather than awards, and almost everyone who knew Incommodo or Arkrak agreed.A massive audience stood and clapped as Frustro walked on to the large stage which had been built in the ruins of New Atero. One of the audience, however, was not like the others. He sat on a nearby hill, his weapon aimed directly at Incommodo’s head, watching as Frustro placed the medal around the blue Toa’s neck and stepped back. The gunshot wasn’t heard over the applause, but the result was seen by all.The small bullet smashed through Incommodo’s mask, impaling itself in his skull. Death was instant for all involved – the victim and the assassin. A powerful electric charge had been activated by the trigger, making sure that the killer could never be traced to his master. Incommodo’s death would forever remain a mystery, and that was how Reichenbach liked it.He himself, however, could not dare to risk attending his rival’s murder. He sat upon a stone throne, gazing into the distance, looking through a window at the dark clouds which approached them under a violet sky, lightning flashing across them.- - -My dear reader, we have come to the end. There is no escaping the facts of the matter, and the facts are what I will relate to you.But first, to truly understand this cataclysm, we must return, for this was the fifth day after the eleventh hour, and that is where our story truly begins...- - -Incommodo lunged at the laughing Reichenbach, but the world flashed white around him. Reichenbach’s chuckling ceased as he stared at the empty space his enemy had occupied a second before.Incommodo saw nothing of this, however. He was far beyond where others could reach him, and it was all the better, for there were those who had already begun plotting and scheming, preparing for the disaster which would come in the days to follow. And although he did not yet know it, Pulse was among them.He sat in a cave, rage boiling within him. His plans had been foiled yet again, by the two fools who had bothered him for so long. Reichenbach, who had helped Pulse in his last plan, had also provided him with a new mask after the destruction of his old one. Obviously, the Toa of Sonics had a sense of humour, although that was something Pulse himself was lacking. When he had been a Matoran, he had worked alongside a Vortixx, The Shadow, planning to bring down civilisation and kill all who breathed. He had broken away from The Shadow, but before then, they had been forced to choose names to replace their old ones. Pulse had been cold – much more so than the average Ko-Matoran. They had called him heartless. So he had made his name the one thing that he didn’t have.Either Reichenbach got the joke, or he had bad taste in masks, as the Kanohi now worn by Pulse was a Tryna, the mask of reanimation, a mask some would say was as immoral as his goals. He was startled away from his thoughts as he saw a being approaching him – shaped like a Toa, but completely dark, his eyes giving off an unusual glow. “Who are you? What are you doing here?!”“I am here to make you... an offer.” If the Shadow had a mouth, it would have been smirking.“What if I say no?”“I’m afraid you don’t get a choice, Pulse.” Tendrils of shadow burst forth from the being, wrapping around the screaming Pulse and pulling him into the Shadow. Seconds later, the Shadows cleared, and the screaming stopped, revealing Pulse, his eyes glowing a dark, menacing red behind his Tryna. “Revenge...”The tendrils moved around him, almost like they had a life of their own. He glared at them, and they ceased, becoming part of him once more as he exited the cave.Review Topic
  4. Here is the review topic for the second part of the sequel to my epic. Constructively criticise, comment, have small conversations with me involving your ridiculous theories, y'know, the usual stuff you little group of fans do. The epic itself is here.Banner made by Eredar.- Vorex
  5. Well, although this was meant to be my 4000th post, it's technically my 4001st. XPEnjoy anyway!(Quick note: You don't need to have read my epics to understand this, seeing as it's all new stuff)Aftershock Dirt, rock, dirt, dirt, rock, dirt, rock, rock, rock, dirt...The Agori dug through the ground. Nothing. He was so sure that there was water there. He sighed as he looked up at the sky. It was violet, in contrast to the lavender it remained during most of the day. It would be night soon, and he would have to return home empty-handed. That was the second time this week, and he doubted his family would be able to take much more. His name was Keuirce, and he was one of the last of his kind.Back in the day, the Glatorian would have been the fighters. But they had long since died out, and the Agori had taken their place. Of course, Keuirce wasn’t sure of the truth in this. It was one of the stories the elders would have told him when he was a small child, like how the sky used to be blue, and the plants were green, and the sand used to be yellow. But that was the past. They had no time dreaming about how things used to be. The world was as it was, and there was nothing anyone could do to change it.There was a slight shift in the breeze. He looked over his shoulder, and saw the setting sun. He had to go home.- - -The next day, Keuirce went hunting in the white forest.Once a lush and green jungle, the plants had withered and lost their colour. He kicked the grey soil as he walked towards the trees. He saw something move in a bush, and stepped quietly towards it, taking out his knife. It was one of the few metal objects they had left.Keuirce had two metal objects in his possession: a helmet, and the small knife. For some reason, the almost all the metal there had just disappeared. Apparently, in one day, everything went wrong. The whole world as was known was gone in a flash. As he moved closer to it, the shuffling seemed to stop. A tiny head poked out.“Hello?” Keuirce asked. He knew there was a large chance it couldn’t speak, but still.“Hello?” The creature mimicked.“What’s your name?”“What’s your name?” It moved forwards. It was small, and metallic, and spoke in a strangely high voice.Keuirce gestured at himself. “Keuirce.” He then gestured at the creature.“Krahl.” The creature responded, gesturing at itself.“What are you doing here?”“Hide.” Krahl said, glancing nervously. Keuirce heard footsteps and turned, just as Krahl jumped back into the bush. “Keuirce, hide.”Keuirce retreated behind a nearby tree, as a party of Agori walked past, the one at the front clad all in black and gunmetal grey. His right hand was a claw, and his left a spinning saw blade. It took all the control Keuirce had over himself not to gasp as one of the Agori’s emerald eyes seemed to look straight at him. However, he quickly turned away, and gestured to the group behind him to keep moving. Each one was more barbaric than the next, with spiked helmets, clubs and maces, hulking masses of Agori that had no reason to fear anything.Yet there was something else strange about them. Their armour, it was all metal, and they were covered from head to toe in it. Where did they get it all from?As soon as they had walked past, Keuirce left, and bid Krahl farewell.- - -Keuirce awoke in a cold sweat, each breath sharp and painful. He climbed out of his makeshift bed (they didn’t have the necessary equipment to build proper ones), and looked out of the hole in the wall that was his window. He saw something move outside – Krahl. “Leave now, Keuirce. Bad things coming.”“Bad things? What bad things?” Before Krahl could answer, it gave out a high pitched squeak, and ran off. Keuirce quickly grabbed his helmet and blade, and jumped out of his window, running after Krahl.Just as he reached the edge of the town, Krahl stopped, and pointed over Keuirce’s shoulder. “Bad, bad things.”Keuirce turned and looked, to see a pillar of orange smoke. “That’s my home! My family! They’ll die!”But before Keuirce could run back, Krahl stopped him. “If you go, you die too. No escape. Fulfil Prophecy.”Keuirce ignored Krahl, and ran back, but by the time he reached his home, it was in ruins, charred corpses lying within its structure. “No, no, no!”He heard a sound, and turned. The Agori he had seen earlier stood on the other side of Keuirce’s home, the glow of his eyes unnerving in the night’s darkness. He turned quietly, and began to walk away, returning to the darkness.“I’ll find you! You’ll pay for what you did today!” There was no spoken reply, but Keuirce could’ve sworn he heard a chuckle whistle past him on the wind. For reference, there will be an epic about Keuirce when I'm done with my current trilogy of epics.- Vorex
  6. Okay, the Time-Keeper trilogy is nearing its completion. But this time, instead of a prologue, I have a short first chapter. Enjoy, people, as a new epic begins (and, if you want, you can read this before the other ones, because it's kinda like reading The Magician's Nephew before The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe). The review topic is here.Banner made by EredarChapter 1:The five Matoran stood around a Suva. Each had his or her own story, but one thing remained the same: none of them would ever be missed. One, who claimed that he no longer remembered his name, had been lost in the Sea of Protodermis. He was a Ta-Matoran, and the others would grow to consider him a sort of leader. Another, Vorex, was a Ko-Matoran who had failed to leave Ta-Koro before it sank. Strave was a Le-Matoran. He ‘died’ when a Vorzakh flattened a building he was in. The only female in the group, a Matoran of Lightning named Nikarra, had disappeared while trying to escape Karzahni. The last one, Incommodo, was a Ge-Matoran, and was lost in a Morbuzakh attack after travelling to Metru-Nui.Each of them stared at the Suva as a golden object materialised above it. Another shock came as a voice filled the room. It was neutral, no emotion or gender was made clear by it, although they assumed it to be male.“You have been given a great task,” said the voice; “The object before you is the Key of Time. He who holds the Key controls time itself. You have each been given a sort of... power, to help you.“You,” it said to the Ta-Matoran; “You can see all of time. Your knowledge of the universe knows no limits.“Vorex, you have the ability to alter time, in order to cause a being or object to become a paradox. This should only be used to eliminate those who threaten the timeline or the Key. Once you have changed it, you must then devour its essence, completely destroying its presence. All memory of the paradox will be taken away.“Strave, you have the ability to enter the dreams of others. This way, you can communicate with the other Time-Keepers, no matter how far separated you are. Nikarra, you can freeze time in any given area. Incommodo, You are given the power of sight.”“Can’t I see already?” The grey and black Matoran asked.“Yes, but now you can see better.” The voice explained, calmly.“I dunno, that doesn’t seem like much of a power to me...” Incommodo was interrupted by the voice addressing another Matoran, who had been lurking in the corner. It was a De-Matoran, wearing a Mahiki.“Come forth.” The voice ordered. The Matoran stepped forward, casting a suspicious glance towards the others. “You have the ability to travel into the past. You cannot go forwards; however, you may return to the present day.“You are the Six, the Time-Keepers, tasked with the protection of the Key of Time. And now, you will be given an appearance unlike the others of your kind, to set you apart from them.”“Eh... if it’s alright with you, mate, Ah like meself the way Ah am, thanks anyway.” Strave said. The Ta-Matoran also spoke up, showing similar sentiments. The voice gave no answer, but beams of light came from the Suva, hitting the other four Matoran.Vorex’s mask changed in shape, becoming unlike any mask the others had ever seen, and he became taller, and thinner, although he was affected by very few changes. The black in Incommodo changed to become dark blue, and his Kualsi took on the shape of a Mahiki.Nikarra became black and purple, her mask changing to look like an Iden. The De-Matoran’s transformation was by far the strangest, and the most disturbing: his armour became a deep black, with traces of silver, and his black Mahiki warped and twisted, silver fangs emerging from the mouth.“Protect the key.” And, like that, the voice was gone.

  8. Okay, this is the sequel to my first epic, Shadows, which you will find here. The review topic is here.Credit to Shattered Mask Productions for the banner.Prologue:Legends tell of a mirror, forged in the fires at the very heart of Metru-Nui from the armour of an entire league of lost heroes. The mirror’s materials were so dark, as was the mind of its creator, that it was said the mirror was given a terrible power, and that any who looked into it would see themselves depicted on their darkest day.Had Incommodo looked into it, he might have seen himself today. The fact of the matter is, you could save a universe. You could unite a people long separated. You could even defeat one of the most dangerous beings ever to exist. But that doesn’t mean anyone will believe it ever happened.- - -The whispers never ended. They went on, and on, indistinguishable, maddening. Incommodo hated the whispers.Perhaps they were caused by wind, running through cracks in the walls. Or perhaps they were right. Perhaps he was insane. In the time since he had been locked up here, he had almost begun to prefer the latter. The world around him never moved. All was silent, except for the whispers. He lived in a kind of trance; his eyes were neither open nor closed. When his eyes were open, he was forced to look at the many words he had carved into the walls. When his eyes were closed, he was reminded of his past. Neither was a good place to be. So he lived in the middle.Being locked in the room had given him time to think. He had realised what he had done when he deactivated the paradox disk. He hadn’t just defeated a villain, he’d killed a universe. Millions of beings, dead. Were they dead? They were never born, after all. But they were born in that universe. He gave a small sigh, and looked up at the wall. Words, so many words. And the whispers.A storm is coming...- - -Les looked in at Incommodo. “He’s... talking to himself.”“He does that.” A doctor explained. “Look, he is in a very delicate mental condition. You can’t just walk in.”- - -Les and the doctor looked in at Incommodo through a wall, which Incommodo saw as a mirror. It was a clever trick, as the being inside shouldn’t have been able to know that anyone was watching them. They found some problems, those being Toa of Sonics and Toa of Magnetism, so they created a barrier to prevent sound and magnetism from passing through. But it didn’t help. It just made the person feel even more alone.Incommodo looked at his face in the mirror. Something wasn’t right about it. It was twisted, it was... wrong. Just before he could figure anything out, the mirror-wall slid up.“Hello.” Les said, walking in.Incommodo glared at him. “Have you come to tell me I’m insane again?”“Look, it’s not that your story wasn’t fun to listen to, it’s just that... well...”“What?”“It wasn’t exactly believable. I mean, first we have the whole time thing, but we also have all those Deus Ex Machinas. I mean, you can’t just go ‘BOOM! Magic Matoran’.”“The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to be believable.”“What?”“If I was lying to you, I would at least try to lie in such a way you’d believe it.”“Whatever. We’re not here to talk about that.”“Yes, I’m here because a group of people in white coats decided I was insane, and you’re here because you have some kind of motive other than visiting me, probably to do with something criminal.”“Well, there’ve been explosions.”“How many?”“Three.”“Then why didn’t you come here earlier?”Les shifted a little, and seemed to be embarrassed about something. “Well... they all kind of happened at once.”“Where?” Incommodo seemed mildly interested at this point.“The prison, the bank, and the Ignika’s gallery.” Les explained.“I thought you’d have better security than that.”“We do.”“Then how’d they get the bomb in?”“There was no bomb.”“Gas leak?”“No gas.”“Then how the Karz did they blow the place up?”“That’s what we were hoping you could tell us.”“Oh.”- - -“Are you sure my doctor said I was allowed out?” Incommodo asked, as he and Les walked out of the building.“Oh, absolutely.”

    Whispers

I warn you in advance, this story will make absolutely no sense whatsoever to you unless you have read my epic, Shadows. Therefore, the only people likely to enjoy/understand this are that small group of fans who follow my epics.I mean this, seriously. But don't read the last chapter of Shadows. It's an embarrasment to me. I prefer to pretend that it never happened. But, if you have read the parts of Shadows necessary to understand this, then enjoy, as the identitiy of the Volitak-wearing Matoran who was, for a short while, in my avatar's identity is revealed:Entry One:I will not begin this journal with anything other than an introduction.I am a Ko-Matoran, archaeologist, and all-around intelligent character. My mask is the Kanohi Volitak, the Mask of Stealth. I live in Ko-Koro, the village of Ice, like every other Ko-Matoran.But I am not like them.I hear whispers. They tell of a past, of a great city, of a people betrayed. I cannot understand all that these whispers tell me, but I know that the other Matoran do not hear them. They blow on the wind, they whistle through the icicles, wherever I go, so too do they. Some would see them as a sign of madness. But me, I see them as a gift. I know things others do not.Today, I went to the Turaga. I told him of the whispers. He did not seem happy. He sent me away, told me not to speak of them to the others. The Turaga have a secret. That secret lies in the whispers. I am sure of it. There is nothing they can do to stop me. One day, I shall discover their secrets. One day, I will prove to them that I am more powerful than they will ever be.- - -Entry Two:The Toa entered the Kini-Nui, and emerged victorious. But a new evil emerged with them: The Bohrok.I do not know what these creatures are, but I remember that the whispers mentioned them. The whispers told me that they are not what they seem to be, that they have a job greater than this. They told me that the Bohrok mean us no harm. The others do not believe me. Today, I walked out in front of one of them. They simply walked past me, not caring at all for me. The other Matoran still do not believe me. They are fools. They will see. When the Toa vanquish the Bohrok, another evil will come. These Toa, they are not the heroes everyone seems to think they are. For every evil they destroy, another will be born. The others hate me for saying this. I have no doubt that they are on the verge of banishing me.- - -Entry Three:Okay, I’ll admit, the Toa got it right this time. The Bohrok are gone, as are the Kal. The Toa did it right. I suppose my bitterness comes from the fact that, well, to be honest, no-one really seems to like me all that much. The other Ko-Matoran don’t like me, nor do any of the others. Even the Turaga try to look away when I’m nearby. I hear people, talking:‘Stay away from him. He’s not like us. He’s not... normal.’I hate them for putting me through this. The Toa don’t treat me like that, though. True, they barely notice me, but that’s better than avoiding me.With the Makuta finally gone, perhaps we can live in peace once more.- - -Entry Four:Jaller, a Ta-Matoran, has been chosen as the ‘Herald of the Seventh Toa’. Takua the Chronicler has left with him.I am not a big fan of sport, but I had a strange feeling that I should go to the Kolhii match in Ta-Koro. I cannot explain it, it was just like I was... supposed to.The whispers are louder here. Much, much louder. I could almost follow them.Yes... I will follow them. If I find their source, then that means I’m not mad. That means that I can show everyone that I’m just as sane as they are.I have decided: Tonight, I will follow the whispers. I will find where they come from. I will prove to myself and to everyone else that I am not insane.- - -Entry Five:I am dead. It’s not quite what I was expecting, to be honest. You see, while I was in Ta-Koro, Rahkshi attacked, and sank the village, myself included. I saw something, right before it sank, but I didn’t quite manage to recognise it. I reached out and grabbed it, and then everything went blank. If you’re wondering why I’m still writing this, it’s because I was ‘saved’.Y’see, it turns out, I was ‘chosen’ alongside five other people. None of them seemed very special. Except one, he was all black and silver, and seemed kind of shifty, like he was up to something. I was talking to them, and they all heard the whispers as well. The person who chose us (we didn’t actually get to see him) called us ‘Time-Keepers’. He said something about a ‘Key of Time’, which had the power to alter the flow of time. Very interesting. The shifty one, he kept glancing at it. We were told that we weren’t allowed to look at it, though, so there’s a sphere that it’s kept in, on top of a Suva.- - -Entry Six:Something is different. I know that I was changed somehow when I was brought back, but the thing I touched... I think it’s affecting me. I think it might have been a Kanohi, but I’m not entirely sure.I feel different. I have random bursts of anger, often followed by paranoia that can last for days. The others are trying to stay away from me, except for the shifty one. He’s just keeping his distance, and watching me, like he knows something I don’t.I don’t like the shifty one.I was talking to another one of them (she seems nice), and she suggested that I do some research into it.Y’see, we’re not in the normal universe anymore. Apparently, we’re in some kind of city, that exists outside of time. Although time flows here, it flows differently from in the normal universe. This isn’t like Mata-Nui.- - -Entry Seven:I’ve found out what’s wrong.Turns out, there’s an entire library here. I had to spend quite a while searching before I found what I needed. It turns out, what I found was some kind of cursed mask. The wearer will slowly be turned into a monster, and lose themselves.I hadn’t heard of this mask before, and I can’t recall its name, but I know what I have to do.You see, the shifty one, he offered to help me, and it was him who found this book. Apparently, there is one thing that can reverse the mutation.More on that next entry. Someone’s nearby.- - -Entry Eight:As I was saying last entry, I will completely lose myself to this mask, unless I use the cure. As it turns out, there is one thing that can save me:The Key of Time.So I’m going to get it. Tonight, while everyone else is asleep, I’m going to sneak into the chamber, and open the sphere. If I can get to the Key, I can survive. I know it seems terrible, but at least if anyone finds this, you’ll know why I tried to steal it. I’m not a traitor. I’m not evil. In fact, I’m doing all I can to prevent myself becoming evil.I am Vorex. And I will fight, I will fight until my last breath, to keep it that way.

    Shadows

Okay, here's my first epic. The review topic is found here.Credit to Shattered Mask Productions for the bannerPrologue: There are some events in time which are fixed. They must always take place; They cannot be changed or prevented, only delayed. One such event was the sealing of the Mystix.No-one knows the exact age of the Mystix, except perhaps the Great Beings and Ignotus himself; It has been said by some that they are as old as the stars themselves, if not older. They were humanoid, almost like bats, with metallic armour, webbed feet and heads similar to those of the Vahki. They were the Great Beings’ first attempt at intelligent life, and Ignotus was the first among them. He did well when tested, and the Great Beings created hundreds upon hundreds of creatures like him. Soon, when they thought the Mystix were ready, they set them free to walk among the Agori and Glatorian. That’s when the trouble began...The Mystix believed themselves to be infinitely superior to all the other beings who walked the surface of Spherus Magna; They killed them, they enslaved them, it seemed that there was nothing that could stop them. Eventually, the Great Beings themselves had to intervene, and banish Ignotus.Ignotus took the other Mystix with him, creating an island in the middle of the Endless Ocean. However, when the Shattering came, this island was separated from Spherus Magna. There was panic for a time, but eventually they learned to live peacefully. But when Mata-Nui came crashing down, a great wave drowned their island; Few Mystix survived, but most of those that did followed Ignotus to a new island, where they lived in a large cavern that would one day be called ‘Onu-Koro’. But it would not be long before Ignotus found yet another new species to fight against...- - -Aru thought over these things as she walked down the tunnels. She wondered where everything had gone wrong, and how. Here webbed feet made no sound as they touched the dust. She was of average height for a Mystix, mainly blue, with silver armour and some lime-green on her limbs. Eventually, she believed she had reached a point at which it was dark enough for what she had planned.“Makuta!” She called out, expecting that she would be heard, for it was said that Makuta not only lived in the shadows, but was, in fact, the shadows themselves.Suddenly, the darkness almost seemed to grow darker, and a chill wind blew, despite having no place from which to originate. Then, two red eyes materialised in front of the Mystix.“Speak.” The Master of Shadows commanded.“I require... your assistance.” Aru replied.“Assistance?” The Makuta asked, intrigued. “I have promised a year of peace; If this ‘assistance’ requires an attack against the Matoran, I cannot help you.”“No, it does not. In fact, in a way I am helping them.” She said. “I want you to help me remove Ignotus.”The Makuta had heard of Ignotus’ attempts at conquest; He had planned to destroy him at his leisure, but decided that it would be best to remove him now, while the Mystix was offering.“In the cavern your species called home, there is a cave to the side. You must bring Ignotus and the others there. Then, I will seal him and the rest of your species within.”“Then it is agreed.” Aru stepped back, returning into the shadows.- - -Ignotus stood in front of his army. He was completely black, except for some silver armour on the upper parts of his arms and on his front and back. He had spiked black armour on his legs.“Tonight, we shall battle! Tonight, we shall take back that which is rightfully ours! Tonight, we shall FLY!”The gathered Mystix erupted into applause. They were inside the cavern that the Makuta had suggested to Aru, and that Aru, in turn, had suggested to Ignotus. She slipped away, silently, unnoticed. Or so she thought...Kraal was one of the Mystix trusted most by Ignotus. He was completely grey – even his armour was a metallic grey – and had cold, blue eyes. He noticed Aru slipping away, and followed her. When Aru exited the cave, she looked behind her. A wooden door appeared to grow out of the rock itself, plank by plank, nail by nail.“They can never escape.” The voice that had said this belonged to the Makuta, and he was right. The door could only be opened from the outside, as it was only a door on the outside; On the inside, it was simply a wall. The Mystix were frozen in time, never stirring, never aging...Always waiting.
  11. VOREX This is an MOC of a character who will appear in my epic (Shadows) at some point in the next few chapters (or, possibly, make an appearance in BZPRPG).Vorex is a creature of an unknown species, and wears the Great Mask of Fear (doesn't exist in canon; made it up. On a side note, I named the mask the Tahk). He feeds off paradoxes, and other changes in the proper timeline. I have below several links to different images of him.FrontSideBackAvatar PoseDon't mess with meConstructive criticism appreciated. - PtVM
