Freedom By Soran "I left the house, what once was mine, For better things in store. To reach my goals, to clear my mind, Of all of this and more." "I gazed upon the roads ahead, The long and winding trails. The twists that seem to hurt my head, But purge me of my fails." "The roads are clear; my mind is too,I look toward what's to come.I wait for what I hope is true,Of what I will become." "The roads now end; my home is near, A tear streaks down my face.Who knew that now, within this year,I'd live with my own grace." ""I'm now my own," I thought with glee,While fighting back a smile. My childish years, you will agree,Now didn't seem worthwhile." "I thought of what I have in store, An entertaining thought. The work and studies and much more,Will fill up what was naught." "I moved my things into my home,And pondered for awhile. My life right now, alone I roam,My own opted exile." "My life back then never felt free,I gave a somber sigh. This prison now set up by me,my life is a far cry." "Now tethered down by my false hopes,I was now only scared. To find that life's a slippery slope,And I was not prepared." -------------- Poem Description: So I got bored and wrote another poem. This one should be pretty self explanatory, but it's a poem based around a young adult moving on in the world. They're excited for the freedom they will have of not being tethered down by parents/guardians. They have all these hopes and dreams for their freedom but along the way they start to realize that they aren't really free. They are still tethered down, just not by parents/guardians any longer but by life itself. Because they decided to move on into the adult world they tethered down themselves because of their responsibilities now as an adult. It's a rather somber poem despite the rather upbeat feeling in the beginning. Comments and critiques are appreciated, ~Soran

Howdy, Soran here. I got bored and decided to upload an old drawing of mine I was doing. It's not technically completed so I took what was and made this. Basically, it's my OC, Soran, but humanized. Link Here This drawing was originally for something else but it fell through as soon as I lost interest. He also wears a pair of jeans, but I didn't actually finish drawing those… So I just went with what I completed. I decided to go with an anime-esque style. I think it turned out all right. I definitely think it's one of my better drawings but it still could use some work. The background was last minute, just went with a simple sky background. I actually found out how to make a neat looking sunset sky effect earlier so I decided to apply it to this drawing. I think it's pretty sweet looking. This drawing is also my first serious attempt at drawing clothes. I don't normally get that far in my drawings (of humans) where I decide, "Huh, this looks like a person. They probably need some clothes." Q: "Why is he holding a coin(?)" A: The main reason for that is because the original drawing was meant to illustrate the fact that there are two sides to him, which is similar to a coin. Fun fact: Working on this drawing actually inspired one of my comics. How did it do this? Mainly because I got bored of working on the above drawing and I drew this as well. Link to Creepy Soran Which I later based this comic after. This can give those who follow my comics a time frame as to when I drew these drawings. As per usual, comments and critique are appreciated. ~Soran

Howdy, Soran here. I may as well get on with the picture first. Give up the Ghost So this is a digital painting I did of a scene to appear in my comic series, "The Road to Home". It depicts my character, Soran, leaning over a dead matoran who is a Nynrah Ghost. The title of the painting is a play on the phrase, "Give up the Ghost," which means to die, in this case "Ghost" is referencing the fact that it's a Nynrah Ghost. This was mainly a test for me to see if I could create a character looking distraught without showing any facial emotions and since matoran wear masks it ended up working out well for me. There's also a story behind this which is based off of the actual BIONICLE story so I'm curious if anyone can figure it out. I don't know how long it took me to make it but it was over the span of 2 days and it was made using my trackpad on my laptop and Gimp. Comments and criticism is appreciated as always, ~Soran

Name: Toa Soran Drawn in: Gimp Tools: My hand, touchpad and the many tools of gimp. Story - This character is one I've been meaning to draw, its the Toa form of my character, and since I was bored yesterday I decided to draw it. It's very simple in design, its mainly just a standard Toa Metru body with a Nuva chestplate and a Kanohi Avohkii. I wanted the picture to be really simple which is why the character is mirrored with minor differences in shadows (mainly around the ball joints). The light point is coming from his mask and will be easier to tell once I color it (if I do). I've messed up some shading in some areas so I may edit it. C&C is always appreciated. ~Soran

I did this for my friend Soran. Here is the Coloured version, it is sorta six shade Colours. I'm not good at Gimp Colour effects. This is the original sketch. I sometimes suck at drawing because I mess up sometimes. You can see some of the pencil lines rubbed out. It was difficult trying to draw the Avohkii after all it was the first time I have drawn and Avohkii. :rolleyes:I hope you all like it and I hope I'll be able to improve next time. Please Post!
