Light posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesSO. Who's your favorite Makuta?Mine was Krika. I always felt sorry for him. He tried his best to do good, and look where it got him. Mutated, and faded out of existence by Gorast.
RahiWatching posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesWow, it's been a long time since I've posted on here, but now I'm back with a theory about Kraata formation. This theory will explain the different processes the Makuta used to create Kraata, but first we need to establish some facts. 1.) We know that before the Makuta evolved from biomechanical antidermis to gas/energy antidermis that they could produce Kraata, but the process was "lengthy and yielded weak kraata" (BS01). 2.) After their evolution "the Makuta found that they could create superior Kraata and in much less time, though creation of the slugs would weaken them for a short period of time" (BS01). 3.) "Antidermis can regenerate even if parts of it disperse or are destroyed, but not quickly enough to survive outside a container" (BS01). I think that before their evolution the Makuta would grow the Kraata from an exposed area of their tissue, willing that tissue to bud off from itself and form the slug. This growth process would take time and be fraught with errors (imagine scar tissue growth in humans) explaining the "lengthy" and "inferior" aspects of the process. This growth would most likely occur in a specially shapeshifted area of the Makuta's armour, such as the various Rahkshi spines on Teridax's Shadow Titan form, in order to protect the growing Kraata. After their evolution this process became more streamlined. Doing away with the exposed area within a growth chamber the Makuta would simply allow some of their essence to leak from their armour. Once a sufficient amount had leaked they simply willed it into solid form, creating a Kraata. This would be a much quicker way of creating Kraata. Also by creating its entire body at once, it would contain fewer errors and so be a superior specimen. Additionally, as the Makuta in question used up some of their Antidermis to create the Kraata they will need time for it to regenerate itself, explaining why they are weakened for a short time after creating Kraata. So what of you think? Any problems, comments or suggestions?
EP vs Antidermis
TERIDAX941 posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesA topic was created earlier discussing zamor and what the antidermis that is contained inside does: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/12995-how-did-zamor-spheres-enslave-matoran/ This led me to think, Velika gave the Inika Zamor that contained Energized Protodermis to counteract the Antidermis, which worked all well and good. The Antidermis must not be destined to transform, so therefore it will be destroyed and the Matoran would be free. But that leads to another question: what happens to the Energized Protodermis after it has destroyed the Antidermis? Once it has cleaned the Matoran of the "virus" it's just sitting inside the Matoran, and we know from experience that EP doesn't just sit. It will effect anything that touches it. So that led me to this theory: Antidermis and Energized Protodermis have the ability to counteract each other, and like a negative and a positive, cancel each other out. So when the Inika use the EP Zamor to "heal" the Matoran, they're fine with dumping loads of EP into the Matoran's system because while the Antidermis is being destroyed, it in turn, destroys the EP as well, neutralized the mutation/destruction effect that the EP would definitely have on the Matoran's body. Now, this theory isn't without flaws, because it's common knowledge that Makuta make Rahkshi from Kraata dipped into EP, and therefore EP can alter Antidermis under some conditions. This could be explained that it only completely destroys the Antidermis when it's in "vapor" form. Anyways, that's my theory on it all. Any questions, comments, rude remarks? (hopefully none of the latter)
Evolution of the Makuta Species
Azani posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesI was just responding to a topic (posted by Mampt) opn how long a Matoran's lifespan is, and how, if at all, they perceive time differently than we do. With all of that discussion, it occurred to me that it's never explained in story how a being such as a Makuta "evolves". It's made clear that all members of the species "evolved" at one point in time to be composed of gaseous antidermis instead of a physical body, and that the change occurred at the same time, or at least at close to the same time, for all Makuta; Makuta like Miserix and Spiriah were no longer members of the Brotherhood at the time that the change occurred, and so they had to find their own ways to adapt, without the Nynrah Ghosts. There isn't any record of a Makuta who did not evolve. In humans, as well as all other species that we know to currently live or have previously lived on Earth, this is not how evolution is generally understood to work. A species evolves as a whole over a period of many generations, by random mutations in the DNA of individuals of said species and the "weeding out" process of natural selection. No species that we know of evolves all at once, with every single member of the species evolving in the exact same way. My question is whether anyone thinks that Greg was referring to something else when he used the term "evolve", or whether Matoran Universe species evolve differently than Earth species do, or any other ideas that you may have. All theories are welcome.
How Do You Make Antidermis?
darkslizer posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesSo, almost everyone knows how Makuta were created, and how Axonn and Brutaka were assigned to destroy a pool of Antidermis, where new Makuta could be made. But how did they make the Antidermis??Could it be made by the Great Beings? Also, does anyone know what would happen if a kraata was plopped in a pool of Antidermis?
