Hello everyone this is the new MSPA topic. For those not in the know, MSPA (short for MS Paint Adventures) is a site that, as of writing this topic, includes four webcomics: Jail Break - the first of the stories, this was never completed. You are a prisoner and well, have to break out of jail.Bard Quest - the second of stories, this was also never completed. You are a bard and, with the help of your sidekicks, have been assigned by the king to slay a dragon.Problem Sleuth - the third story and first one completed. You are a hard-boiled private investigator and, with the help of two other private eyes, must fight against the Mobster Kingpin to escape your office building.Homestuck - the fourth and longest-running story, as well as second completed. It's the story of four kids (and a load of other characters) who become part of a video game to save the universe from the near-indestructible Lord English. This is the place to discuss these stories, theories about them or the characters, headcanons, what have you. Do keep it civilized, and please keep the leetspeak to a minimum. Thanks!

You're a hard-nosed, square-shouldered, spare-the-lip and shoot-from-the-hip gang boss. Or third in command, to be precise. I tried to make him simple, but look like the character, and this is what I came up with. Album on imgur.

Hey guys. So, Maddison and I were talking the other day, and we realized today (Sunday) is 4/13. That is Homestuck Day! I like Homestuck. It is neat. Maddison said we should make some Homestuck MOCs, so we did! This one is mine. It's a pretty quick build, just a few hours, really. This is Bec Noir. I don't feel like explaining who he is, except that he is an important antagonist. He has only one full arm, and has a sword through his torso. His one arm is red because of an unfortunate incident with another character. Anything else is more than mild spoilers, and I think you should read the comic! ANYWAY | | | Or check out the exact same photos but bigger on my Flickr!

HAPPY 4/13 NAK NAK NAK NAK NAK. It's a Nakodile from the webcomic Homestuck. I made it for 4/13, the anniversary of the comic. I really like Nakodiles!!! This one stole Dave's iShades because of reasons.

Hey all, I'm doing some concept art from my upcoming webcomic Gamebreak and figured I'd post it here. I won't be the one doing the final illustrations as I'm simply too busy, but I'm helping design the characters. (If you're interested in doing actual illustrations, PM me. No seriously, there's money involved.)The comic is about six friends who are stuck in this big video game called MUlate and there's crazy time travel and alternate time-line stuff blah blah blah. Whatever. Here's a character, Dario Roland. His online name is Aristocrack. He belongs in the Tank class, which is sort of a defender class, and has the power of strength. Even though his class doesn't actually matter for the story. He's a top tier player of his faction, which is RED FACTION. In real life, his parents are very quite wealthy, but there is some disconnect there. He's best friends with the "main" character Aden, and their relationship plays a huge part in the story we're slating. Yes I know his hammer is different in two different photos, we're still trying to decide on a design. The style is minimalistic, and typically lineless. Anybody who is familiar with Homestuck (or maybe even BZPstuck which btw is amazing) will be familiar with said style; at least for the "action" sequences in those comics. Anyways, just thought I'd put this up here, see what people thought about the character. Personally, I love his mask, and the fact that he wears a nice suit yet has those shoes instead of dress ones.

A Homestuck nakodile Christmas ornament. I made a few of these, and one resides with Hahli Husky and Janus! It was a fun and quick build, though I wish that the orange on the snout and body met flush, but it is still really cute. (click for larger images)

WHAT. NO. I DON'T USE CAPS LOCK. I THOUGHT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE A TRAINING KEY FOR RETARDS. A training key? MAYBE ALSO FOR GIRLS. FOR WHEN THEY GET HYSTERICAL AND MAKE THEIR LETTERS SHOUT. Ok, got it. Really great theories there. So... how do you usually type then? JUST. NEVER MIND. Hang on. Are you saying you hold down shift with one hand, while hunting and pecking for all the letters with the other?

Yo.So, this is a project I've been toying with for a while now. That is, making actual minifigs and cool model's based on Andrew Hussie's Homestuck. I've seen it done by other people too but I guess what the aim here is a more professional grade rendition of this fantastic storyline.I've made up decals for darn near every single one of the 8 human players and 12 troll players, with the pre-Scratch trolls on their way as soon as they're seen in-story rendered in a symbolic manner (( That hasn't stopped me from toying around with some designs, though )).Before you ask, yes, most of the physical production hasn't occured yet; most is still in design stage. Decals are done, fabric elements are in the works, and custom hair pieces (!) are also in the works.Per rules of posting in the LEGO-Based Creations forum, I do have some photos of physical minifigures that I've produced. The three that've been made are merely prototypes and will see much-needed updates/upgrades in the future. Doc Scratch The first of the LEGOStuck minifigs, he's actually not in my possession anymore. He was the prize in a giveaway I did on a popular blogging website. Dave Strider The second of LEGOStuck minifigs, he is also not in my possession, but is being kept by my girlfriend. She has him in the pocket of one of her hoodies and likes to carry him around everywhere. Kinda sweet, really. Dirk Strider The most recent of the LEGOStuck minifigs and longest to complete. He is the only minifig still in my possession and he may or may not stay that way, at least until his upgraded form is made. And yes, I am aware of the random Dirk sprite in the photo; I forgot to save a sprite-less copy, oops. At least you get a comparision picture. Now; on to business! As far as new, upgraded minifigs go, the main difference we'll see is more variation in the figs. Dave and Dirk will cease to only have black legs; Dave will have his red and white Converse, while Dirk will have his gray and white Vans. Dirk will have short sleeves, Dave will have long sleeves. The key to this is a different type of decal paper than what I've been using; as of now, I've been using Papillio Waterslide Decal Paper Clear. As the name suggests, the decal paper applies on clear, while the design stays. This is good for applying dark decals to lighter bricks (( such as black facial features on a Light Flesh minifig head)), but is not ideal for lighter decals to darker bricks. That is why, recently, I purchased Pipillio Waterslide Decal Paper White. Again, as the name suggests, this applies white instead of clear. The difficulty in using the white, however, is that the RGB for a specific LEGO color must be matched exactly or the seam will be more visible depending on how different the tone is. I still need to throw some color swatches in a PNG and print it to color test against a brick but I haven't really had time to yet. :White and black are easy; #FFFFFF and #000000, respectively. No real deviation there. everything inbetween will be trickier.Below are some of the decals that I've designed thus far: [ 9/7/2012; 11:34am: Reformated the topic; added links to all characters. ][ 9/5/2012; 8:17pm: All four BETA kids' outfits linked in the topic. ][ 9/5/2012; 4:50am: John's outfits linked to the topic; all four BETA kids have had header images added. ][ 9/5/2012; 3:44am: Uploading all source files to Majhost; please wait... ] Anyway, I would love to hear your feedback for the project, as well as any comments or questions you have relating to it? ~Kohila

Okay so... I'm gonna be blogging for the coming week (presumably to the chagrin of everyone), so... yeah. Anyone read Homestuck? I do!
-
Past Kakaru: Of all the BZPower related fads, this is the one I understand the least. I'm reading through the Homestuck archive (and oh my goodness it's big) and Problem Sleuth on the side. It's good, I just can't bring myself to believe the size of the fanbase here. Can someone help me out? What on earth is this? ._. Current Kakaru: Lol, silly past self that didn't know how good this was. Haha. Homestuck fan for life. 8) Future Kakaru: You guys have no idea how awesome it gets.

I'm (Finally *catches Breath*) Caught Up With Homestuck
Captain Marvel posted a blog entry in blogs_blog_1584
... my mind has been blown 20 thousand times over But in all seriousness, it is a very funny and interesting story, and it is also the reason I have pretty much disappeared from BZPower for the past week. I have become slightly obsessed with the zodiac after reading it for so long, but I doubt my fascination will last for very long as it is. At any rate, I bought a transparent turquoise D20 which I have been using as a means of determining the probability in percent of a certain outcome. I multiply the number on the die by 5 (20 x 5 = 100[%]) to get the percentage in relation to the number. I must say that it has been surprisingly accurate with matters of relatively high importance, although it seems to be less accurate on more trivial matters. However, I plan to purchase more, because 1 just simply isn't enough. (I might even get 12 [Haha see what I did there? With the number of the zodiac signs? [not counting the new one]].) Now to talk about the Homestuck trolls. I am simply fascinated with the concept of it, and I commend Andrew Hussie for making the characters so darn cool. <3 My patron troll is Sollux Captor, which I think is funny because we're both psychic. () And just for the record, I took several Homestuck character quizzes, and my results were always the same: Dave Strider. B) -Captain Marvel -
Basically, can it be done? What other Homestuck characters would you like to see in Bionicle form?

IS INCREDIBLE I just started it about two hours ago. My mind has been completely blown. ALL OF MY YES

So, here's the fruits of my LegoStuck efforts as of late. I feel like I kinda dropped the project for whatever (procrastination) reason and that I should try to do it again. I still feel a bit bad though, because I never got to send my end of the trade for the Jackel minifig head. And honestly, I completely forgot what I was supposed to send, ehhe. But, all is good and well in the world! I ordered some Clear Waterslide Decal paper from Papilio, and upon using it I discovered that clear decals aren't really the best thing for minifigs with torso colors other than white. So! I found a color chart with the RGB codes of an accurate LEGO color palette and modified my existing decals to suit them; the later decals skipped that step altogether and were simply created as is. As this project continues, I now know that the best option to use for the waterslide decals would be the White Waterslide Decal paper. Provided the color codes are correct, the decals should match with official LEGO brick colorations quite efficiently. As mentioned above, the only color that the clear waterslide paper works on well is white; thus, I tried my luck on a prototype minifig; Doc Scratch: Upon doing this, I learned a few things about applying them, specifically that the 300DPI that is recommended for LEGO torso decals aren't exactly large enough. Secondly, it's difficult to apply them altogether. Next time, I should clean the surface of the LEGO brick with a bit of rubbing alcohol and then apply the decal, so that no residue weasels its way between the decal and the torso. Aside from those problems, the decal application process went extremely smoothly! I'm very happy with how this is happening and look forward to creating more decals to do this. P.S. I know that the border of the jackets for Tavros', Vriska's, and Kohila's jackets are a bit thick. I plan to thin it out a bit soon because, to be honest, I only want a border allowance of ~2px. Done. Edit: Per Aho's request, here's a nice set of kids' torsos:

Hi again, guys! Okay, so I thought that I'd let everyone know that I'm planning on going to Youmacon in Detroit, MI on the weekend of November 4-6. I don't really have all of the kinks worked out, however the best part is that I'll be 18 by then and legally able to set things up on my own now! So far, the plans are either a) Dota and I drive up there (of course, he just turned 18 this past Monday and doesn't even have a license OR a car, so this isn't really the most thought-out option), B) drive to where my friend, Pride, lives and then carpool with her and probably a few of her friends, or c) find out if anyone else in town I know is gonna go and hitch a ride with them. I'm planning on cosplaying as Gamzee for a day and the rest of the time just take it easy, probably wearing a few HS shirts or such. I'm hoping it'll be fun! ~Kohilå

Or I suppose I should say MaGiCaL mYsTeRiEs :0) Link So my aunt came over for Easter and she brought this magic deck or whatever, and originally I had hoped it was a joke. It wasn't. Gamzee is smiling right now. :s:

Not sure whether this'd go in Homestuck or Music, but w/e. So I just got a bunch of Homestuck songs, and I must say I'm really loving Black from Volume 4, especially the intro. :s:
