Painting, Panda Pumpkin + Plant Lanterns
Mushy the Mushroom posted a blog entry in Adventures in Mushroomlandia
Just some artstuffs! 9X12 Lop ear bunny, finished last month. Acrylic, pencil and watercolor paper. I feel like the leaves look kind of odd/over-detailed....The reference photo had a bokeh background. It's so hard to decide when it's done. Drawing time:? Painting time 31 hours. A happy little pumpkin panda with bamboo. White wood fill markers and black china markers will stick to pumpkin skin (Yaygaragestuff) . That color wheel feel when an art idea materializes: And the Lego version: (Not an accurate color wheel.) This is a pseudo paint palette...A fraud made of foam board...taped to the face. I wish I had a younger sibling so I could bribe them to be in photos instead. These photos were taken using the most barbaric methods. Proof: And finally...my pathetic Plant-O-Lanterns! Inspired by @Bambi and @Aderia. MR. NARWHAL and cantaloupe octopus. Poor cantaloupe octopus was illuminated with a flashlight, I couldn't find another candle. I fail at carving cucumbers. -
PSA: Email LEGO about fixing the BIONICLE Magazine Insert
Dorek posted a blog entry in blogs_blog_241
Hey kids (or not, since kids get the magazine). Want to read that BIONICLE magazine insert in a high quality PDF version? Me too! So did LEGO, apparently, since they put up a listing for the digital version. The catch? They uploaded the wrong file! Lovable scamps. Star Wars is great and all, but they also have a separate listing for that insert (and no, it doesn't have the BIONICLE file). However, this was also like two weeks ago and they haven't changed it since. I emailed them about it and got the standard "we'll forward your complaints to the right department" nonsense. So more people should email them about fixing the file, because I want that PDF. Go on. Do it. Thanks! -
AHHH I didn't think my son would be ready for Legos for another year or two, but last night he sat down and joined in organizing System parts with me. (He's just barely 2 1/2) See, it looks like I'm helping him with colors, shapes, and counting - but in reality I am training a sorting minion MUAHAHAHA-- Actually it works out well because he's nearly as obsessed with organization as I am. (See all that sorted Lego/Bionicle behind us? XD) YUSSSS LEGO PROGENY Look, he also made his first MOCs... a necklace each for me and him, and an airplane he was very happy with. I'll probably never take it apart, it was his absolute first MOC and I feel like I should preserve something so momentous. On another note, I am so close and yet so far away from finishing my Bionicle collection. If you're willing to part with sets, please check out the topic here.
