Hapori Tohu
In another fantastic display of technical prowess and Lego-based engineering, Mike Dobson and David Gilday build Cubesolver II, the Rubik's Cube-solving robot able to knock more than three tenths of a second off the fastest human time. Powered by a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone and four Mindstorms NXT units, the robot can complete a fully-scrambled cube in a mere 5.35 seconds. Click to see it in action. Meiko
First, IBM has Blue Gene (Cracked the human genome, and many other things), Deep Blue (creamed Garry Kasparov at chess), and Watson (won the highest scoring Jeopardy! game). Now LEGO has the NXT?!!? Something isn't working here. That is insane. All hail our computer overlords. Zarohum
sometimes I'm firghtened by what technology is becoming. If Lego Bricks can do things better than a human, I seriously don't want to live to be 80. By the way, why is it OK for them to tell us to watch the video, even though it's on the site we can't say? Toa Smoke Monster
I've never managed to complete a Rubik's cube. And this Lego robot can do it in 5.35 seconds. Wow. I wonder if the cube has to be set a certain way for the robot to complete that fast though. Quote Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story. GeluNumber1
I don't know whether to clap or scream. It's freaky -- 30 seconds better than a human? It's gonna turn into the Ternminator soon. Quote Why are orange and black such a good color Combination ? Purple is pretty, and so is blue. Pink hurts your eyes, green is quite mellowing, black is very threatning, red is cool, orange is SO awesome, yellow's hard to read... But you can't see white at all! Oh, wait. I forgot brown. Here's my thoughts: If a person tells the truth and says, " I always lie," Is he lying? Or is he telling the truth? And what has a mouth, but no head, and a body, but no torso? Do caterpillars like to tend to supporting colum of stone's every need? Or is that name misleading by nature? Speaking of nature, why are the children of animals called offspring? don't many young beasts come alive in spring, and thus, should be called onspring? Heeeeeeyy..... Sumiki
It does make me wonder if they could mess up the system by putting in a cube that doesn't have nine squares of six different colors, as in, one green side is painted white.
