Friar Tuck

IC: KiaraniKiarani looked over to Naria. "I have no desire to be a hero. The last hero I knew snapped, and killed over a dozen people in a crowded marketplace."Her tone was cold, almost detached. Like what she was saying didn't affect her at all, like the thought didn't send swells of revulsion down her spine. It was almost robotic in nature; like a librarian, just spitting out facts.

IC: Kiarani"I do not believe so. The weapon used was a well-crafted sword that was well cared for. Combined with the skills of its user, it would have been very easy to kill a large group of civilians.""No, I do not believe there was any religious significance to his actions."

IC: KiaraniKiarani nodded, comprehension dawning in her eyes. "Ah, it was meant to refer to the emotional toll on those who witnessed the event." She paused, finally noticing Naria and Cysero's position on the bed. "Oh, I apologize. I didn't mean to interrupt your pre-coit-"

IC: Cysero (Inn, Ta-Koro)"Dofwaaa?"Cysero glanced at Naria, still held in his arms, then at the Toa, and his eyes widened in realization."Oh, uh, there was nothing coital about...I kind of bearhugged her and then fell asleep before letting go, and we kind of just...woke up like this..."-Teezy

IC: Kiarani"But hibernation is a practice reserved for bears and other creatures in Ko-Wahi when the particilularly cold season come. They eat a lot of food, find a cave, and sleep the season away. I'm not even sure your Matoran physiology could accomplish such a task."

IC: Divan finished drawing the foil off the knives, and compressed it into a ball. Since all the stains were on the surface, removing the foil layer removed them as well. Divan then absorbed this foil, and used the acquired elemental energy to sharpen the knives to a razor's edge. Miraul then lifted the results with his magnetism, and each knife hovered and spun in the air for a few seconds as he inspected the resulting balance-using knives himself, Miraul knew a thing or two about a blade's balance. Seeing that the knives were well-balanced, he allowed each of them to hover handle-first so the Toa of Crystal could grab them. "Good enough for you?" Divan asked.

OOC: EVIL COLE HAS ARRIVED (for those of you who don't get the inFAMOUS reference, Cole Macgrath is the player character in a game where you can choose to be good or evil). RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IC: NorkaronNorkaron entered Ta-Koro. She was very bored. "Time to make my presence known here," she thought. She started to climb to the top of the largest building in Ta-KoroIC: PineasPineas continued to sell his wares. His grocery store was doing well.

OOC: Wanderer's Company from Le-WahiIC, Aurax: The lush jungle of Le-Wahi soon melted into black, dead trees and charred ground. Oreius had lead the Company from Sulov's residence, with Stannis and the others following closely behind. Aurax looked up nervously at the dead tree branches. Nothing really scared Aurax, but this place was an exception. In contrast to the tropical, living-giving air about the Le-Wahi jungle, this place reeked of Makuta's presence. Such a presence made Aurax nervous. He wondered wether the others were as nervous as he.

IC: Reordin (Charred Forest, Ta-Wahi)Since Stannis' affirmation of their destination, Reordin had remained mostly silent, following Oreius into Ta-Wahi. Though he wouldn't admit it to anybody - least of all the Wanderer beside him - the place gave even his cold-adapted spine a chill that iced over his bones and constricted his heart; the dead trees, with their limbs that snapped with the slightest touch, leaving naught but ash and bark across your hand, the black sky, and the desolate silence all contributed to the almost comatose feel the entire region had. Having lived around this location, Stannis must have felt a sort of connection with this place, and that thought gave Reordin no solace as he moved forward, hands not near his weapons but tense nonetheless."All this place needs is a couple flying monkeys to top off the atmosphere," he muttered to himself, drawing up his jacket's collar not out of cold, but out of caution.-Teezy

IC (Oreius)Unlike the other Matoran, Ta-Wahi did not put Oreius on edge. He had spent his whole life here. The dark gray sky, thick with clouds and faintly red from the light of the volcano, kept the heat from escaping, keeping the Wahi blanketed in warmth, and warmth was life. Life thrived in warmth, and it was evident everywhere, if you knew how to look. The black trees that studded the landscape, composed of dead charcoal, were blanketed with thin coats of grayish mosses and lichens. Beetles crawled through the dust, their black carapaces almost invisible against the ashy soil. Here and there, one could see small holes in the ground that emitted faint orange light, exposing the magma that lay below the ground`s crust. Insects and small lizard Rahi accumulated in these areas, their cold-blooded bodies drawn to the sources of heat.To others, Ta-Wahi might seem a desolate wasteland. But, though it might be harder to see than in Le-Wahi, life still existed here, in the heat and the smoke. The Rahi here, like the Ta-Matoran, were hardened and tough, but they were still alive. They had managed to thrive, even here, where others saw only karzahni. The trees gradually grew thicker as the company walked, Oreius leading his companions over hills and alongside sprawling chasms that fell deep into the earth. At last, they came over the top of a hill, and saw a black expanse laid out before them, as far as the eye could see.The Charred Forest. An enormous forest of dead trees, long since blackened and burnt until they were nothing but standing caricatures of living trees, drawn in charcoal and ash. Every tree looked about the same, empty of life, their dead branches spiked and vaguely threatening. Many paths led through these woods, but with everything looking the same, only those who knew the forest could ever find a path that led out.Oreius turned to Stannis. "Here it is, Stannis: the Charred Forest. I don't know it as well as Kapura, but I can lead us through it, and keep us from getting lost. Where do you want us to go?"

OOC: I find it funny that Aurax is more scared of the Charred Forest than Sulov. xPIC: The silent exile could spare no time for thought or speech as he followed the others, coat flapping forlornly in the volcanic breeze. His senses were alert and mind only attuned to them, guarding against an ambush or danger. He had to protect the group. And protect it Sulov would, even if what he was protecting the six from was only a lack of nourishment. The matoran chewed quietly on a raisin as he considered the collective supply status of the team. From what he had seen of the other matoran, they carried nothing other than weaponry and the occasional other tool; his pack was the sole store of rations. To make matters worse, they were traveling in a land barren of vegetation and had not stopped since they began traveling. The exile himself was fine. His clothing wasn't restrictive enough that its insulation made him hot and he had enough food to keep himself full of energy traversing the island. But he knew the heat and the strenuous journey could well take its toll on the others. And neither Stannis nor any one of the other matoran had accounted for that. Thus, Sulov took it upon himself to ensure all were fed. He first left his senses on autopilot and reached back into his pack. His hand next withdrew a small purple bag full of the raisins he had made in Le-Wahi. Then one of his fingers lightly tapped Aurax. When the matoran turned, he would find the package gently placed in his hands."Take. Pass. Chew."Immediately after, the exile found they had reached their destination. The ensuing talk meant that his contribution might amount to little. But Sulov was yet consoled in that Aurax, at least, would have the edge taken from his hunger...Any stop and the others would as well.

OOC: It's not that he's scared, the forest just gives him the creeps. XPIC, Aurax: Aurax smiled and nodded at Sulov. "Thanks," he said. He reached in the bag and took out a few raisins and popped him in his mouth. He did this about three more times before passing the bag over to Reordin. "Here, eat some of Sulov's raisins- they're good!"

IC: Reordin (Charred Forest, Ta-Wahi)Ignoring the silent advertisements that flashed across his head - Reordin made a mental note to himself to ask Sulov if he would be interested in starting a business called Trusty Sulov's Trusty Trailmix sometime after this whole shindig - and taking the bag with a grateful nod, Reordin popped a couple handfuls into his mouth before handing the bag to Stannis, who did the same before handing it off to Lepidran.-Teezy

IC:The Matoran was waiting for them, sitting on a fallen, ashen tree and leaning against its still-standing stump. As the six members of the Wanderer's Company arrived, the Matoran stood up and crossed towards them. He stopped them where he had been, in a dense spot of the Charred Forest, with black trunks standing like sentinels all around. The Matoran easily noted that some of the group before him were intimidated by these trees, and he laughed jovially. The black wood and cracked earth seemed to soak up his humor. "The untouched world means you no harm," the Matoran reassured them as they looked at him. "Welcome... I hope you all remember me. I'm glad to see all of you again, and gladder still to see that you are together; well gathered, Stannis." The Matoran shook each of the company's hands - even smiled and waited for Lepidran to sheepishly swallow his trail mix so that he could free up his palm - and looked them each squarely in the eye, before continuing. "The fact that you have all come this far tells me two things: one, that my instincts were right, and that you were the ones I should have taken; and, secondly, that you are all at last prepared to hear what this journey will be about."

IC: Sulov's lips remained still and eyes blank. He stood closer to the back of the party, yet wary of danger. Something in the back of his mind was crying out for attention...Something still nagged at his conscious about this situation. But this was a more emotional nag than intuitive one. There was no gut feeling here; only a sort of primal response. It could wait. So he let it be. Sulov just stood and listened. He would let the others ask questions as opposed to himself for the moment. He was inarticulate, and had not found anything he required clarification on yet. So he simply attuned himself to the conversation and his senses and observed.

IC (Oreius)Oreius had lef the company through the twisted, charred trees, following paths that only he could see. A mark scratched in the bark here, a pile of stones there... any hunter or woodsman would recognize these cues, but it took a Ta-Koran Guard to decipher them, and Oreius was perfect for the job.He didn't know where they were going -Stannis, as always, had said that wandering would bring them to their destination. The Ta-Matoran was doubtful (one could wander for weeks in the Charred Forest, and go in circles until one died of hunger, thirst, or malevolent Rahi), but he did as he was told. His leader had given orders, and he obeyed. Even though Stannis was no Jaller, the Ta-Matoran had agreed to follow him to the ends of the earth, even if that meant following him into a maze of blackened flora. But, as always, Stannis' wanderings led them right to their goal. Courage and valour could only take them so far, it seemed -only faith could bring them to their destination. Faith that, somehow, destiny would guide them to the place they needed to be.The Matoran was waiting for them, sitting on a fallen, ashen tree and leaning against its still-standing stump. As the six members of the Wanderer's Company arrived, the Matoran stood up and crossed towards them, a smile on his face, and reassuring words spilling out of his mouth as he shook hands with each of the companions.Oreius smiled as the Matoran promised answers. He was glad to see the mysterious Matoran, and even happier that they would finally get some direction. Finally, they could get started, and do what they were destined to do.

IC: NorkaronThe one thing Ta-Koro doesn't have (and really needs) is skyscrapers. So when Norkaron finished climbing up the building, she found she wasn't really high up at all. "Oh well, still doable," she thought as storm clouds began to loom in, red flashes of light appearing in the clouds. Then, the first red bolt of lightning came down...OOC: Nuju, permission to take this attack up to 11?

IC: Reordin (Charred Forest, Ta-Wahi)The Sanctum Guardsman's eyes flicked down the row of Matoran towards Aurax, though he didn't turn his head; the Ko-Matoran's deep blue gaze seemed to twitch upwards, as though he were in disbelief that the Matoran of Crystal could so easily just tell the Matoran - who, despite having the same brotherly feel that the Ta-Matoran he had met back in Pala-Koro had, could have easily been an imposter - that they were ready to strike a blow against Makuta. Nevertheless, now that the cat was out of the bag, he shrugged noncommittally and straightened up again, planting himself firmly at Stannis's right side. After all, if an ambush was on the horizon, whether with the Matoran's help or not, the Wanderer would need to be protected, even if Reordin didn't have a good reason why.The wind blew by as Aurax spoke, coating the six Matoran in a sudden warmth. The black portions of the sky seemed to darken and frolic through the wide open space afforded to it, congealing right over the Matoran like a midnight-colored blood clot, and the warmth was gone as suddenly as it came, leaving one or two of the others to shiver involuntarily. Reordin shrugged again, not affected by the temporary drop in temperature, and flicked one corner of his mouth out in what could have been a smirk, had it lasted a couple seconds longer. We know what's going to happen. We just want to know how exactly we're supposed to bring it about, he wanted to say, though he bit his tongue for once and settled for a small "Mhm."-Teezy

IC: KiaraniKiarani saw the lightning, and its source. A Toa, a few buildings down. Her back was to her.She looked at Cysero and Naria. "Good day. I have evil to defeat."She jumped out if the window, Calix-flipping onto the next building. Another run and a flip brought her behind Norkaron. Before the other Toa could respond, she lashed out with a vicious kick toward her back, aiming to knock her off the roof. It wasn't a long fall, she'd live.

She activated her flight ability and using a power called static thrusters to help control her flight, she flew off.IC: DyzaeraDyzaera arrived in Ta-Wahi. She saw a toa summoning red lightning fly off a building. She went into a power dive and fired a few rockets. She then tried to tag Norkaron with a lightning bolt.IC: NorkaronNorkaron quickly dodged. The tag hit a nearby building and the rockets crashed into it instead. She flew up high into the sky, Dyzaera not far behind her...

IC: NorkaronNorkaron reached out to the sky. A thunderbolt of red lightning came down straight for Kiarani. She also launched a tripwire rocket (two electric bombs connect by an energy wire. If something goes through the tripwire, the two rockets will slam together) at the toa. At the same time, she launched a blast of electricity at Dyzaera with her free arm.IC: DyzaeraDyzaera veered out of the way in time. She launched a bolt of her own. The two bolts meet head on...

IC: KiaraniA single Calix flip took her away from the attack, and down to Norkaron. She sank deeper into the earth as she kicked the Toa's mask off, robbing her of its power and most of her element."There. Now the Guard can deal with you."
