Front page features?

On the front page, there are boxes that  say stuff like "The member spotlight is currently unavailable.", "The hot topics list is currently unavailable." and "The staff would like to thank some of our most recent supporters, who have become Premier Members of BZPower. Curious about our premier members? See who they are. Current Premier Ration: 0". What is all of this stuff and why does it never seem to be doing anything?

It's all old stuff from the front page that no longer works. I think there's a tracker ticket somewhere to get it repaired.

Okay, but what is it that they do, exactly?

The Member Spotlight used to choose a random member every day and display their "about me", join date, and posting activity.

 

The Hot Topic list used to list the most-posted in topics throughout the day (I think it refreshed every half day?  I can't remember for sure.)

 

The Premier Member list used to list who was a Premier Member (and keep a running tally).

 

With the board updates, a lot of the things that pulled these bits of information apparently stopped working (because, hey, new software).
