Video game recommendation

I was recently going through possible game purchases, when I thought:

Perhaps you guys could tell me what I should get, considering you probably have more experience than I do in that field. So, in this topic, it's not just me you're recommending to. This is for anyone to look at and see the opinions of other BZP members, and what games they approve.

Only two things I must note that are important:

Rule: no number rating systems.

Info: You may get insulted by other people's opinions, but please don't fight about it.

Well, what are you waiting for!? Hop to it!

Dota 2 is a good game, if you like complexity, strategy, and micromanaging.

Lord of the Rings Online can be recommended to any Tolkien fan.

Trine/Trine 2 are really fun puzzle games. Extremely frustrating at points, I might add.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is fun if you like both the AoE games and space.

Portal/Portal 2, of course, though the second one is significantly harder, I think.

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind is amazing. I could go on for days about what makes it good, but one of the main things is the mushroom houses.

Previously known as Aiwendil.

If you enjoy puzzle games at all, I too would definitely recommend Portal. Both 1 & 2 are fantastic games with plenty of challenges to keep you occupied for a while and they each have their own interesting story. Portal 2 is much more fleshed out (considering Portal was released as a side-game to the Orange Box and wasn't expected to do well, but Valve was so wrong!), but I still enjoy Portal, and if you can buy both, you should.

If you like interesting storylines, wonderful music, great art style, or just smashing enemies, I would highly recommend Bastion. It's a beautiful game about a kid who ends up one of the few people alive after the Calamity, and as you go, you learn more about what happened while fighting the creatures that have move in to the cities. It is definitely one of my favorite games.

If you prefer all the above, but with a bit more strategic approach, you can try the second game created by the makers of Bastion: Transistor. Red was one of Cloudbank's most popular singers, but when four assassins try to kill her in the middle of the night, she ends up on the run with nothing but the Transistor, a mysterious weapon she took from the assassins. As she travels to find answers and take her revenge, she sees the city being "Processed" by an army of robots seemingly under control by the Camerade, the group behind her attempted murder. Just like Bastion, this game looks amazing, sounds amazing, and has an excellent story.

You know, it might also help to tell us what kind of games you usually play, unless you're looking for something new.
