IC (Sgt. Seah):The ODST depolarized his visor to look at O'Brien."It's Sarge, not sir. And right now, we get Grant over to the Med Outpost, you gotta be steady for your buddy alright? Don't worry, I've seen worse injuries, though I ain't a doc," John looked at the Marine with a supportive expression, then patted his shoulder and continued to move up the dilapidated street where many had once frequented.IC (Shor Talas):Shor wondered what the other SpecOps on the Scarab were doing, as he felt his shields flare after shots from dodging a Brute who charged him. He quickly drew his hunting blade and parried the Spiker, then kicked the Brute's gut and stabbed him."Argh!" Shor jumped back to cover as he felt a plasma burn on his left shoulder.

OOC: My time has been heavily restricted for an undetermined length of time, so I'll hold off on introducing my new characters and using Ket for now. Sorry if I take forever. :(IC: Zarana Fehra Veru & Kaldera Fehra Selre | Battle of New Venice | Flatbed 'hogThe destroyed area was like both an omen and a clarion call to the Fehra pair: a warning of the enemies ahead, and a joyous call to arms to the enemies of the Alliance. IC: (Staff and Player Post){/Kiro Uron}The scarab twitched to one side, begining to move as Kiro struggled against the Jackals and brutes on the Deck of the Scarab. He stepped up, moving closer and closer to the Anti-Aircraft battery, determined to take the high ground. His repeater continually overheated as he blasted away at the shields of jackal after jackal, managing to take down one of the at least five brutes battling against him.His shields flared as needle and plasma fire impacted them over and over again. His shield broke, a simple zzt as they died was all he heard before a needle buried itself in the side of his neck. The pain was horrible even before the needle exploded, sending thousands of shards of microshrapnel into his neck.He collapsed to the deck of the scarab a bloody mess, blood oozing down the ramp.~~~The scarabs movements were erratic, like those operating it were still learning how to control it. Despite this, the scarab continued moving forward along the road, rearing up in front of the former and now emptied Medical outpost and walking into it.debris flew everywhere, the sheer force of the scarab's impact sending a few of the more novice jackals, and one of the brutes, plumeting into the ground below.

Captain Macabethus IC (Heading towards the snipers building) : Growling in eager anticipation, he signaled three other Brutes, two had Spikers, and one had a Brute Shot, and led them over to the Snipers position. He noticed a slight eagerness in the other three Brutes, one a Major, and the other two Minors. It could be disregarded as his small pack was noticed. "Take cover at the building there! Keep away from the windows!" He pointed to the closest building, noting that the sniper had a good shot at all of them if they didn't move.PFC Willy Berrien IC (Ground floor with Sgt. Seah) : Willy looked at O'Brien with a sad look. He felt pity for him, and and gave a smile. He didn't know exactly what to do, so he followed Seah out into the street, looking up near the windows.OOC : Errrrr... Uh, Vak, where would you like the armory? I can't figure out if it's out back behind the Diner, or in the street.PO 2nd Class Lyn Carter IC (Anti-Air gun) : This place is a wreck. I just hope that Anti Air gun is ours... Lyn flew over the AA gun, and sent in an identification. "This is Hornet Charlie Seven Thirty-Four, making a run over head at the Brute offensive."

IC (Sgt. Seah):"****, it looks like the Med Outpost is gone," John cursed to himself, not wanting the rookies to get demoralized any further than they already had."This is ODST Sgt. Seah, is there any one with expert medical ability on the field? Directions would be appreciated." John relayed the signal to the open COM.IC (Shor Talas):Shor witnessed the Ultra fall, and quickly put 7 needles into a gloating Brute, sending him sky high. He knew he could not retrieve Kiro, outnumbered, outgunned, this was a battle he could not win alone. He cursed as he was forced to play guerrilla on a Scarab platform of all places, then winced as he felt the burn on his shoulder.IC (Shawn D-042):Shawn stood up and forced a hand down on Terra's shoulder, motioning for her to sit. Shawn did not know this person well, but from what he just witnessed, she may be too hotheaded."Calm down, do we really need dissent among Spartans? Besides, Aaron is our leader, he knows what he's doing."OOC: No IC on Pvt. Serrox, waiting on Promised Land.

IC: A knife was pressed against Terra's throat as soon as she did that."You better watch out, cause right now you seem to be the only one here I would place under suspicion, especially cause you're threatening someone under operational command." Cassandra growled. "Now drop you're knife because it's been awhile and I might accidentally twitch and we would hate for that to happen. We have a mission to do and Aaron has operational command. You respect his authority. Next time you threat him or anyone else, you'll find a knife in your back."If Terra wanted to be an enemy so be it, but if this was just some outburst by an overly emotional fellow Spartan she wasn't going to sit by anyways.

OOC:Stoney, character development can be anything. Us RPG runnin dudes don't really care what you guys do around eachother, lost as it isn't game-breaking, completely wrong, or involves breaking rules :PSo as long as you don't kill anyone, create some sort of massive event that isn't actually going to happen that effects everyone, or get a bunch of stuff wrong in one post... yur good.

IC (Shawn D-042):Shawn had already had his Plasma Rifle trained on this loose cannon of a Spartan, he wondered if the stimulants and augmentations had erased her self-control and rational thinking."Please, do listen to D-052 and calm down, D-048."

IC: Cassandra let Terra go, but unslung her battle rifle as she put her knife in its sheath. She sighed, the idea of shooting or stabbing another Spartan didn't appeal to her in the slightest, but Terra's actions were out of line and irrational. It worried her, and made her suspicious, especially given the insurgency."You should sit back down before Shawn or my trigger finger slips." She motioned back towards the seat on the Pelican.

OOC:Stoney - Check your PMs. I have so many that it's hard to be sure on my end, so check yours to ensure you got confirmation.Lavama - Just use some lockers in the back rooms of the restraunt. Innies will have stashed gear there.IC: [insurrectionist Sangheili]The foe of Vume did not retort. The graceful arc of sizzling plasma bit into the Insurrectionist's armor and skin alike. The energysword had cut clean through his stomach and lungs, and the Sangheili toppled over, the arm gripping the crude blade loosening its grip with each twitch of the felled Sangheili's hand. Vume little time to lament or celebrate his victory, as the Scarab that had just crushed the weakened frame of the abandoned Medical Outpost now lumbered carelessly into the building Vume was on, knocking a deathblow to the weakened infastructure. Steel crumpled upon steel as if it were mere tin under the Scarab's weight, and the roof came down sharply, the only avenues of landing being either the street three stories below or the stationary leg of the Scarab as its directors struggled to free it from the debris.IC: [sergeant Major Antony Graham]Debris hurled every which way around Colin and the half-buried Antony as the Medical outpost was reduced to ruin. While Antony's midsection and below were still trapped between the wreckage of the Cobra and all of the wreckage, he had enough manueverability to yank Colin's body down and shielded his head from the flying wreckage of the Medical Outpost. As the deadly rain of heavy projectiles ended with nothing more than a smoketrail lazily ascending the sky, Antony released Colin and muttered past him,"... That thing's moving on without us. Soldier, get me out of here! I'm not letting that bugger get the drop on another innocent life!"The Sergeant Major struggled and shoved against the debris, but winced in pain and noticeably stiffened as pain shot up from his right leg. ****-it, that better not be a break...IC: [Commander Vale - UNSC Plataea Bridge]The Commander strode fast and confidently through the halls of his ship onto the bridge. Already many of the crew members were busily running about getting the systems and engine up and running. He nodded to several members of the bridge and their Military Police escorts who now stood with guns at ease by the stations of the bridge crew. "We've got you locked down against any possible Innie threat onboard, Sir.""Thank you, boys. I assume there are others patrolling the ship as well?" Vale moved to his console and started an upload sequence, grimacing sourly at the dregs of day-old coffee in his cup from the day before dropping out of slipspace. Carelessly dropping the plastic cup into the waste basket by his console, the Commander noted the Upload sequence was firing up faster than anticipated."Aye, sir. We've got hunter-kill teams doing search and clears in all critical compartments, then breaking down into smaller groups to sweep out the rest of the rooms. No contacts so far."Seems we beat 'em back to you, Plataea. Good ol' girl, let's turn the tides."Thank you, soldier. Keep me updated on what your teams find. Nash, status on the engines?""Sir! Cycles are ready at your go, shakedown is complete.""Richards, weapons?""Archers are all present and secure, MAC will need to charge once we're up though. Erm, Commander. Sir.""Good. All stations be ready- New Venice sports grav-lift technology at its drydocks to ensure a swift and uneventful takeoff. We're going to hit that Corvette before it even knows what happened. Galbraith, what's FLEETCOM got?""Commander, several frigates and a destroyer are imbound from L.P. Orbit about 750 kilos from here. Back-Up will be here soon enough. They couldn't get word on Sangheili craft.""Well, that's as good as we can hope for now. Be ready, ladies and gents!"The Bridge rumbled as the docking crew below, guarded by some of the Plataea's own Marines, activated the drydock lift. While it wasn't enough on its own, with thrusters to get the ship off the ground the Lift could keep her up until she was ready to move. "Engaging atmospheric thrusters now."Yellow pods burned brightly and propelled straight up, pushing the Plataea up into the air. They deactivated and fell harmlessly into the ocean that surrounded the drydock on three sides. By that point a large, purple array of energy burst from below where the ship would have been drydocked, sustaining the Plataea's presence in the skies. The Bridge crew adjusted coordinates and turned the ship to face the battlefield that was New Venice. Mostly the downtown area was smoking and cindered from the Insurrectionist attacks, but there was evidence of attacks throughout the city as smoke columns rose ominously into the air.Come and get us, ya traitors. The ship began to slowly sail through the atmosphere- the ship wasn't built for atmospheric fighting, but it could manage to fire shots without ending up grounded. "Pods A through D cleared, Commander." The voice was Richards', and he replied to her, "Fire at the Corvette when you've got your shots lined up. We need to break what shielding they have and cripple the ship before it can do more damage.""Missiles away, aye."Archer missiles were released from their clamps and exhaust trailed the deadly ballistics as they made their course to the Corvette...IC: [Gung-Ho Marines, Private O'Brien]The Marine tossed down his gun in frustration at the ruined Outpost. "Well great, what're we gonna do now? He's not gonna make it.."Suddenly, Seah's COMM burst to life. "This is Corporal Henderson, do you read? I repeat, this is Corporal Henderson. Situation?"IC: [scarab Platform]Unknown to both friend and foe, when the Scarab had destroyed the Medical Outpost, a group of five ghost-like figures had hopped from the adjacent rooftop. As it slammed against the building Vume was on and rocked back again, the Brutes attempting to kill Kiro and Shor were thrown off balance, but stayed on easily enough. However, the slight rocking was still the fatal flaw in their string of luck, which had run clean out.Without warning, the four Kig-Yar that had formed the phalanx were gripped by the necks and plasma rifle fire washed over them, their faces reduced to nearly nothing. The Jiralhanae Major still holding up defense of the Battle Platform whipped around from the injured Sangheili to fire on these unseen assailants, only to be cruelly smashed across the face by the fist of a fifth. This one's camoflauge deactivated to reveal a Sangheili even larger than the average-sized Jiralhanae in both terms of bulk and height. The fist of B'kar impacted hard enough to shatter the brittle shielding the remnant Major's armor possessed, even going so far as to dent the side of it. The Jiralhanae growled in fury as B'kar brought his Plasma Rifle to bear and fired three bursts at point blank into the face of his foe. The Major, reaching at the nothingness above its shoulders, crumpled and rolled on the deck."Vel'Aekt, R'mas, secure the wounded. K'mur and Tura'el, with me. We're moving to the lower deck. Camoflauge activated."Without turning to personally check on San', Kiro, or Shor', the large Sangheili once more disappeared with two of his cohort and descended the ramp. Vel'Aekt and R'mas parted ways, with Vel'Aekt moving to where the corpses of two Rangers and the unconscious body of San' lay. R'mas ascended to where Shor' and Kiro were."Is he alive? And your condition, brother?"IC: [AA Turret Site, Flatbed 'Hog imbound]The main horde of Brutes stopped in their tracks and attempted to break their charge as machinegun fire from the Hornet tore shreds and ribbons at the unfortunate soldiers caught in the surprise assault. Two fired red plasma rifles aimlessly at the Hornet, trying to divert its fire while the others ran for cover of overturned vehicles and Destroyer wreckage. Even more unfortunate for the Brutes that had decided to pull back and secure their area of charge, the lone Warthog that was arriving was anything but reinforcements. The driver expertly skidded into one of the Brutes in blue armor, the impact killing the Brute as it rolled under the 'hog. From out the back of the vehicle jumped four O.N.I. field officers, battlerifles flaring as they concentrated fire with expert precision on the Brute attackers, slowly moving for the cover of an intact car.The Scottsman's Warthog screeched on its tires as it turned and roared farther into the enemy formation, closer to the turret itself. The Warthog flew through the small opening in Charlie-Red's barricade and jarred to a halt, the driver leaping out of the vehicle with a Pistol drawn. The back end of the vehicle was still exposed, and with good reason: This made it easy for the Hunters in back to hop straight into the fray, in deadly-close range to the lead Brutes, including their Major. "Hit 'em hard, ye behemoths!"IC: [spartans onboard O.N.I. directive Pelican - Aaron D-07]As if a testament to his cool and control, Aaron didn't flinch or speak throughout the entire scenario. To keep a focus on team integrity, he made no mention of the incident and Terra's extreme actions. Rather, he made a mental note for a psych evaluation in the future."Spartan, I was merely addressing that I had to repeat the intel. It seems squad integrity is bent out of shape, and we're going to use this op to change that. Understood?"The Pelican rumbled as it expertly manuevered under the last range of point-defense turrets and slid flawlessly into the exposed hanger. The Pilot opened the back door so the Spartans could see and hear him clearly. He gave a thumbs up and yelled over his shoulder, "We're in, Spartans! Make it quick! I'll stay in here as long as I can in the event that something goes awry, over?"Aaron nodded absentmindedly to the pilot and responded crisply, "Understood. Spartans, I want that bridge secured ten minutes ago!"Aaron flicked to the three squadmates of his New Venice squad who had sat silently by during the entire spectacle. One bore two SMGs, another a shotgun with a plethora of combat knives attached at various hardpoints of his armor, and a third with the classical MA5B rifle. They all had the typical olive color of most MJOLNIR armor, and moved to his side. "We're Team Red. Cassandra, Terra, Shawn, Rex are Team Blue."Both squads exited the Warthog and scanned the empty Hangar. The center of the Hangar was still lowered and the cityscape of New Venice moved beneath them. It was obvious the Insurrectionists didn't know every little detail of the Frigate."Team Red will move through the barracks and medical bays to the far side of the Bridge. Blue Team, you'll move up through the armory and take the solitary service cooridor through the middle of the ship. This should dump you out on the near side of the Bridge from the Hangar. Questions?"Aaron scanned the area once more with his Designated Marksman Rifle, curious as to why there were no Insurrectionists ready to greet them. Reports had it that a force of at least fifty humans had boarded the ship, with five hostages from the Bridge Crew.

IC (Shor Talas):"I have merely a flesh wound, but I cannot say the same for Kiro over there," Shor got up again, impressed as usual by his former unit's effectiveness. He was also reminded once again the brutality of their SpecOps leaders, and the various reasons why he had chosen to leave the army. "Brother, if you have a minor healing item, it would be much appreciated, and I can cloak and join your unit in the fight.IC (Sgt. Seah):"'I read you, Corporal, we have one heavily wounded in action. Missing a limb, you know any med experts?" John quickly replied, VISR activating to see if Henderson had co-ordinates uploaded. He bent over and pcked up O'Brien's gun and tossed it back at him.IC (Shawn D-042):Shawn kept his Plasma Rifle trained by the cargo containers, if the Spartans would be storming this ship, it meant this was supposed to be heavily guarded, but right now, it was quite the contrary. Shawn took point, sprinting over to a cargo container by the Armory doors then motioning for the rest of Team Blue to follow, weapon aimed at the doors.

IC: [Vume Chavamai]Vume, acting as quickly as the situation allowed him, jumped for the scarab leg, scrambling to find a good hold. Once on the leg, the Sangheili slowly attempted to climb up the leg, using his sword and dagger to pull himself up the vehicle.[Colin Ferris]The ODST wordlessly continued his work, pulling rubble off of his superior as fast as he was able, which, as a member of one of the most elite forces in the UNSC, was fairly fast.

IC: [Corporal Henderson]"Aye, Sergeant. We're located north of your location about a kilo and a half. Staff Sergeant Menken is staging an assault here, and we have medical personnel on stand-by. The injury sounds critical, though... One moment."Chatter was heard in the background, and all the while the sound of carbine fire was heard closer and closer to Seah's position. O'Brien now angrily scanned the area, his two squad-mates hefting the fourth uncertainly."Yes... We can call in MedEvac if you'd prefer that. Got room for at least ten soldiers on Pelican D-23. Over?"IC: [specOps R'Mas]The Sangheili sighed and dug in a small satchel on his hip. He withdrew a needle that was altogether alien from human design, yet of similar purpose. "This should sustain small wounds. Should you want to aid B'kar and his men, the choice is yours. I'll take care of this.. Uron."IC: [sergeant Major Antony Graham]The Sergeant was finally free, and he attempted to heft himself up. The Sgt. Maj. grunted in pain as he pulled himself out, his right knee bumping against the wreckage. "Think I've got a fracture here, Ferris. Can you raise up any nearby teams?"Without warning, a radioactive green Carbine shot rang out and impacted against a piece of cinder right by Colin. Antony threw himself off the mound of debris and rolled behind it, all the while gritting his teeth in pain. "Sniper!"OOC: For the record, Seah and company are in fact only a few buildings away from Antony. Rachel and Allan also happen to be inside an adjacent building, but they're obviously preoccupied.

IC (Sgt. Seah):"I read you, much appreciated Corporal!" John grinned then turned to the Marines, motioning to them the co-ordinates for pickup. John also handed his incendiary grenades over to Willy, just in case they run into any opposition."Okay, five of you should take the Pelican and get to the med personnel. Willy, O'Brien, take care of these three, landing zone is about half a klick from here, stay safe, alright?" John noted the position of two ODSTs nearby, then, without another word, sprinted off an alleyway and jumped over a short chainlink fence to meet with them. John sighted the Cobra wreckage and the faint outline of two ODSTs in cover."Hang on Sergeant Major, I have the Jackal in my sights," Seah zoomed in his DMR scope and lined up the reticule with the purple glow of a Jackal Sniper helmet. He pulled off 3 shots in succession.IC (Shor' Talas):Shor nodded in appreciation, then cloaked and followed the SpecOps unit down the lower deck, Needle Rifle at the ready.OOC: Pvt Serrox is in the Warthog with Jason, and Shawn is near the armory doors with Team Blue.

IC:{/Special Operations Ultra}{/Kiro Uron}"That would be appreciated..." Kiro said as his eyes snapped open, breath coming out in rapid gasps. He tried to pry himself off the ground, but the strength in his arms failed him, and he fell back to the pool of blood that surrounded him."Weak... so... weak..."Kiro's hands moved towards his staff, which had fallen beside him after he fell. Gripping the familiar weapon he felt more at peace. "This is... what I get... for... not wearing... my combat... armor..." he chuckled, spitting up blood. "Don't let B'kar... have too much fun... IC: Zarana Fehra Veru & Kaldera Fehra Selre | Battle of New Venice | Flatbed 'Hog/ AA GunThe closest thing Hunters had to an evil smile was a miniscule shifting of their gestalt formation. Both Fehra Hunters were doing that as they had skidded into the enemy formation, and -- after Zarana checked to see that their driver and ally would not be in their line of fire -- they hefted themselves out after firing a couple blasts each from their assault cannons.Probably just as well that they got out: Kaldera personally wasn't sure if the flatbed would be able to support them if they had remained. He didn't put much thought into it: most of his attention was on falling into position behind his dominant "sibling" and keeping them from being flanked.-Inferna

PFC Willy Berrien IC (The One Gung-Ho Privates of the Marines) :He confirmed his order from the Sarge, and put away the incindinary grenades. He then got the coordinates on his HUD (OOC: Or whatever he has for one, the newest Marine I know of is Halo 2 basically. Back to IC: ), and looked at one of the four marines."Jackson, Paulson, O'Brien, I'm not saying I'm taking over, as I'm sure you three have had more experience than I, but we need to get going. O'Brien, can I trust you to be on rear guard? I've got a feeling something bigger's going on here." Willy asked O'Brien, hoping that he would understand. He then turned his attention to Jackson and Paulson. "We could change shifts, if you don't mind. Thing is, I don't know what all is from here and there, so we need to move a little fast. Can you two carry Mark and still get to the half way point?"Captain Macabethus IC (Anti-Air Gun-Battery) : The unexpected Hornet attack had nearly ripped one of the Minors to shreds. Aggravated, the massively furry and massively muscular Brute led the charge on closer to the Snipers building."You two lay down suppressing fire on those Humans at the small barricade over there, we will charge it!" Macabethus ordered the two Minors, and signaled the Major. "You go with me around the barricades over here. Stick to the shadows! Open fire when I do. I trust your aim is better than quite a few of our own, so you should do well."Major Thar Mentra IC (Cavaliers Diner with Cain, Raging Insurrectionists) :"This way, Cain. We head to the back." The Major started his walk over to the back of the Diner, towards the Armory. A few questions stayed in the Major's head. "Just answer one thing for me, though. How did you be apart of the Marines back there?"PO 2nd Class Lyn Carter IC (Attack Run on the Brutes) : The attack had gone succesfully, the Brutes distracted momentarily by the sudden Hornet strike. She flew to her left into a large enough alleyway to take some cover and re-engage the Brute forces.

IC: [Colin Ferris]Wordlessly, Colin turned to 3 o'clock, raised his rifle, spotted the jackal, and fired once. The trio of bullets tore through the jackals head, the force of the bullets causing the aliens carbine to go off, the radioactive discharge scoring Colin's armor as the wild shot clipped his shoulder armor.

I want you to hit me as hard as you can.

Something on your mind, Dear?

Hey, you created me. I didn't create some loser alter-ego to make myself feel better. Take some responsibility!

IC [sgt. Seah]:John looked through his DMR scope. "You got him good, Ferris. Come one, let's check on the Sergeant," John said and patted Colin on the shoulder. He lumbered over to Antony and placed his rifle on his back. "Sir, Sgt. John Seah reporting, do you require immediate medical aid? I've got some leftover biofoam for a small wound."

IC:[Marine Gunnery Sergeant][Daler Mehdni]Daler moved to the front of the Pelican as the doors opened and Joel walked off the platform. He tapped a button along the side of the wall, unlocking the door that separated the cockpit from the Troop Bay. He walked forward, hand on a rail as he watched through the "window" of the pelican. "So... how's the view?"

OOC : There is a hostage situation that isn't "known" about yet at the Cavalier's Diner, around the South Part of town. Around the North part it's pretty much closing down. I think, can someone else confirm that?PO 2nd Class Lyn Carter (Still attacking the Brutes) IC : A successful breath escaped from her mouth, and she slowed down to start her ascent. She planned on swooping down on the Brutes, just to weaken them up for the main troops. She scaled the building, and reached the top.

OOC: FINALLY, my internet is un-deadified! Knology had some problems for the last... 5ish days? Lotsa people in town were irked and internet was down in several parts of town, my neighborhood included. Anyway, I'm reading up and cooking up an IC response to get this back on the road again.NOTE: It took a -LOT- longer than intended because the backspace button is evil and decided to homnom my post when I was over halfway through. Apologies if anything is badly written because of it, but one does not like repetition when all his first draft's work gets homnommed into the black space of the internet.Lavama- You're right. Menken's locking down the north end, pressing south. South end is still hot; that's where Rachel, Allan, Antony, Colin, Seah, etc. are at. Scarab's there too. Cavalier Diner has a hostage and is Innie controlled, and is a couple blocks over. It appears to be (and somewhat is) a refugee camp.Leonidas- Mato can be placed wherever makes sense for him to be. Rex is with Blue Team (Cassandra, Shawn, Terra, and Edward are also on this team. Toa Ling/Edward's been inactive for an extended amount of time, so he's kinda an NPC in his current state)Now let's try this again.IC: [Commander Vale]The Commander held his breath as the missiles loosely trailed towards their targets, time itself turning lackadaisical. As the first salvo neared, the Corvette's shadow broke from over the abandoned Drydock to the ocean; Vale intended to not let it crash into the New Venice cityscape and potentially hundreds of innocent lives. The Corvette's point-defense lasers began to turn towards the Archers, slowly tracing the deadlier second salvo..The first salvo impacted, sending shudders throughout the atmosphere as the shimmering shielding of the Corvette fought to maintain... and soon destabilized, collapsing under the energy released by the missiles. The Commander cursed, knowing the fate of the second salvo would be a short lived one; the point defense lasers had locked and began to fire.Thud thud thud!It wasn't the sound of missiles being blown up prematurely, but rather the exposed hull and point defense cannons of the Corvette going up in ionized purple plumes. The Bridge crew cheered as the Anti-Air Turret that had been so hard-fought for finally opened fire for its proper owners. Leaving the Corvette crippled, the second and third salvos of Archers impacted. The ship went up in jagged, explosive plumes as missile after missile left generous damage across the hull. Three missiles had impacted directly to the side of the engines, damaging one and setting the Corvette on an off-set spiral. The ship fought to maintain... but tumbled uselessly through the sky to the western seas.Over the horizon in the direction of the Corvette came the familiar shapes of two human Frigates that had been requisitioned to the battle at New Venice. These ships spared little time firing prepared MACs at the spiraling ship, literally ripping it in half."Heard the capitol needed a hand!"Vale responded into his own COMMs display, "Quite! We were worried there for a moment that we'd be doggin' it out on our own!"IC: [scarab - B'kar/Shor']B'kar had simply winked an acknowledgement light on Shor's headsup display to let him know they were aware of his presence. The near-invisible Sangheili shifted and offered room, sneaking into the heavily barricaded belly of the Scarab. It was strange in a way, for the belly to be so heavily barricaded. Yet in the front, the shielded area was unprotected and a small group of Jiralhanae headed by a Captain seemed to be debriefing on how to combat their boarders. The two remaining Skirmishers held guard with brute plasma rifles, scanning the area while listening in on the conversation.B'kar and his men didn't speak, but took up flanking positions behind the barricades as they listened and waited for B'kar to open fire first."Gratarus and Lachticus are both stuck up above guarding the Lekgolo worms in the rear. We must break the enemy lines and reinforce this Scarab! If it is lost, the battle is lost.. And our honor scarred once more!"The others growled approval, and they seemed to stand up with the intent to charge upstairs. The Sangheili looked curiously to B'kar, eager to put these beings down. B'kar maintained his eerie stillness, giving no sign to open fire yet, letting them get closer..IC: [scarab - R'mas/Kiro/San'/Vume]R'mas applied proper medical procedures to the unconscious Sangheili. While being wounded and seeking aid of a doctor was generally frowned upon, Field Medics were moreso appreciated because if a Sangheili's wounds were healed enough that they could fight again, the Sangheili in question could regain the honor lost from requiring medical help. While Kiro Uron may or may not be combat-ready again, R'mas figured that he would at least be ready for the next conflict... for after such an attack, surely there would be a call for vengeance? Or perhaps a follow-up by their illusive foe?R'mas found his thoughts interrupted by two unexpected events that seemed to coincide. First, San' seemed to be back and well from being knocked unconscious; he was flanked by his rangers and the other of B'kar's SpecOps squad. The latter event was the more bizarre: yet another Sangheili warrior joined the fray on the Scarab, climbing up from its leg. That one had certainly raised R'as into a state of respect for the injured, battered, but battle-ready arrival. His mind snapping back to the present situation, he addressed all the Sangheili gathered up top:"B'kar and his men are cleaning out the infestation in the belly of the Scarab. While I tend to this Uron-Clan Sangheili, move to the back and take out what resistance may remain!"IC: [sgt. Maj. Antony Graham]Antony nodded his head approvingly as Seah moved to their position. "Glad to have you, soldier! My leg's just fractured I think.. I can get around, but not safely with all those **** potential snipers on the rooftops!"The ODST, rolled to his other side and peered from behind the rubble pile, snapping off a shot at an Insurrectionist human in civilian clothing who had just taken off from the building they were in. The bullet ripped through his chest and left him crumpled on the sidewalk. "It's hot here! If we don't get an Evac soon, we'll be overrun! I've also lost contact with the squad taking out the heavily armed Innies in that building."He pointed in the direction of what appeared to be an apartment complex built opposite of the now-destroyed restraunt that had served as a Medical Outpost.IC: [staff Sergeant Menken]Two clanks of metal-on-metal sounded where the Staff Sergeant had made footfall on the back of Rook's Pelican. In a surprise visit, the man in fresh combat armor strode confidently to the cockpit bay, already cramped with Mehndi and Rook. "We're fixing to retake the southern half of Rome Street! That's where the main concentration of Innies is now. Other squads deployed from the O.N.I. building like mine are mopping up resistance city-wide. Thanks for the ammo drop off, by the way. Name's Menken. Charles Menken."He motioned to the four tanks and multiple soldiers gathered before Rook's Pelican: already marines were unloading the heavy-weapons material and dispersing it strategically across the fighting force. "If you don't mind, soldier, I've got a job for you."Meanwhile, another Pelican soared overhead. On Rook's screens it would have been tagged as Pelican D-23. The lone Pelican soared gracefully overhead the battlefield of Rome Street, towards the very southern end near the destroyed Medical Outpost and abandoned Drydock.IC: [Privates O'Brien, Jackson, Paulson, Mark]Jackson and Paulson grunted as they laid down Mark, who was in shock at this point. Paulson knelt down and clasped his comrade's unresponsive hand, while the other kept his rifle trained at their rear. O'Brien scanned around the edge of the alleyway, looking towards where Seah had left them to aid the downed ODSTs."What, us? Experience? Hah, this is the first licka' combat we've had! Our CO was downed when the Parade was hit, so we just took matters into our own hands... and ended up with you two!" The voice was O'Brien's, and bore an angry sort of humor to its tone.IC: [AA Turret Site]The Turret fired proudly overhead the defending Marines, ODSTs, O.N.I. security agents, and two Hunters. Charlie-Red was for the most part maintaining their position to keep the Brutes from breaking the line and shutting the thing down permanently. With them two of the O.N.I. officers opened fire alongside the bearded Scottsman, who trained his Magnum with one arm while priming a grenade with the other. One of the Brutes growled as their weak shielding popped and its helmet was knocked clean off, leaving the Brute dazed. Two more impacts- near perfect hits on the skull, put it down.At the same time, he threw his grenade and it popped, quickly releasing a black veil on the western side of the battlefield. The other two O.N.I. officers that had been in the Warthog now disembarked and ran through the smokescreen, using it for cover. They made a mad dash upon appearing on the other side of the screen to the Brutes. They fired potshots as they ran, intending to meet up with the ODSTs encamped on the other side.~~~~~~~~The Jiralhanae turned to Macabethus and growled while pointing, "Take two others and don't let those humans reach the sniper! Our pack is already making progress upon them, but if they receive reinforcements we'll lose all ground!"The Brute had been pointing at the O.N.I. officers that had used the smokescreen to safely traverse most of the battlefield. Without waiting to hear a response, he fired his weapon at one of the two Mgalekgolo. Several more Jiralhanae armed with Spikers fell in around him, intending to make mince-meat out of the worm colonies that threatened the Jiralhanae presence in their near-impenetrable armor. One of the Jiralhanae Minors had hung back from the battle, keeping an eye out for the Hornet that had nearly killed some of his pack-brothers. He hefted a powerful Plasma Launcher, and upon catching sight of the Hornet again from his cover, he began to charge the four deadly balls of plasma...IC: [spartan Red Team - Aaron D-007]Aaron gave his team some silent hand gestures and they quickly moved to the doorway that was marked with an arrow at the floor. The arrow read "To Barracks". Simple enough, Aaron thought. He motioned to another Spartan in his squad and they uploaded override codes into the locked doorway. The Spartan gave a thumbs up and moved in, shotgun at hand. Taking the rear of his squad and moving in last, the sight of Blue Team slowly fell out of view."Alright Blue Team, all doors on the ship have been temporarily overriden. We're not sure how good the Innie techies are on the ship, so I can't affirm how long they'll be unlocked. Proceed swiftly, but with caution. Aaron out."OOC: Out of the P.C. Spartans, Toa Ling's Edward is currently highest in rank. Since he's been inactive, I'll RP as him for you guys.IC: [spartan Blue Team - Edward D-056]Edward flashed an acknowledgement light and Blue Team did the same. He motioned with his hands for Terra to take point as she had the shotgun of the squad. He then made hand-signs for no talking, signals only. Their first objective was to quickly sweep through the armory- lock it down and make sure no enemy personnel had gained access to any weapons of importance that could endanger the mission to retake the bridge.

IC [shor' Talas]:Shor gripped his knife tightly, waiting for his former superior to make his move, he assumed a stance near an unsuspecting Brute Major. Once B'kar striked, all heck would break loose.IC [sgt. Seah]:"Sit tight, sir. I'll try to pick them snipers off, but I'm not too sure Ferris and I can get you into that building to rescue those guys while you are wounded." John rested his DMR on a piece of sidewalk, pulling the trigger as the reticule lined up with a Jackal Sniper's head. "What are your orders after this cleanup?"IC [shawn D-042]:Shawn took a deep breath to steady himself. He had a fear of fighting in enclosed ship areas, but was determined not to let this compromise their mission. He followed Terra's left flank, bringing his Plasma Rifle to bear at any unsuspecting Innies.

PO 2nd Class Lyn Carter IC (Anti-Air gun) :A small glance through her cockpit as she rose from the buildings revealed a single brute with a devastating Plasma Launcher. She dived back into the buildings and did a small circle pattern, planning something in her mind as she choose to fire at him to stop the charge.Captain Macabethus IC (Charging Sniper Position) : A small gruff, and he called two Brutes quickly. "With me, now! Kill the humans running to the sniper quietly! All four of you!" He started a quick sprint towards the O.N.I officers, diving in and out of cover. Using a blind Brute Shot shot and a single grenade, he attempted to slow them down.PFC Willy Berrien IC (Heading towards the Medical outpost) :."Well, you guys are doing rather well for your first time. To be quite frank, my first time as well. And now it's just me and y'all. Come on, step up, and someone let us know when you want to switch out." Willy bent over and picked up Mark over his shoulders, causing the Private a little strain under the weight. "Alright, I'll do my best to keep Mark safe. The point is about two blocks away, so we should be able to make it there quickly if we move fast enough. I'll carry him as long as I can."OOC : Waiting on Spink to return with Cain so I can move Thar along. And to be honest, I don't want this to become like the last Metroid RPG... That was awful.
