If they didn't throw it into a ravine or incinerate it, it's probably being kept as a trophy somewhere. Secondly, and most important, the crater is going to be crawling with heavily armed Matoran. A whole bunch of their buddies got buried there when the roof caved in and I'm pretty sure they'd be digging for survivors/recovering the bodies.
