Nickonicle
I know, I know. There's literally no CCBS on this thing. But, I figure, there's no established style for mechanized suits of armor in Bionicle 2015, so who's to say what an Exo-Toa-type construct would look like? Plus, it's a robot. Robots have pistons and ridges and hoses. That's not to say it's completely out of line with Bionicle 2015. The sets have gear functions again, as does the Exo-Toa here. There's a gear that opens the cockpit, situated on the lower torso: http://i.imgur.com/7hGKSBZ.jpg The right arm, in lieu of a "boxing claw", this Exo has a spinning claw hand (demonstrated via GIF): http://i.imgur.com/tfTFoki.gifv And the left arm is multi-shot "electro-rocket": http://i.imgur.com/cbAgdxn.jpg Also, because I don't where else to include it, here's the cockpit sensors and whatnot: http://i.imgur.com/cRxsTP1.jpg And, of course, a Toa can control it. Here's Tahu demonstrating, as is customary for Tahus: As far as I'm aware, Tahu and Pohatu can man it comfortably. Toa Nekar
The second I saw this topic posted I smirked with delight. I was not disappointed. This is beautiful, despite not having any CCBS. Brikkyy13
Not sure how this is gen 2 style with no CCBS, but it's still amazing. I love how Tahu can fit in it! Specter Knight
I love the Mechanical Design that you went with. This is incredibly detailed, and reminds me of Pacific Rim a little. Axilus Prime
That is amazing. There may not be any CCBS but it definitely qualifies as Gen 2 if Tahu Okoto can operate it! It also looks awesome from head to toe, and I would hands down say this is an improvement over the original. Excellent work. This might just get my vote. Xabla
I would buy this if I saw it in a store. I wonder how much it would cost? But still, this thing is epic. 1 cringe
Regitnui
WANT. I always wanted the original Exo-Toa, so I'm biased here, bit that looks great. Elemental Rahi in Gen2, anyone? A write-up for an initial video for a G2 plot I really wish everyone would stop trying to play join the dots with Gen 1 and Gen 2 though,it seems there's a couple new threads everyday and often they're duplicates of already existing conversations! Or simply parallel them with a slightly new 'twist'! Gen 2 is NEW, it is NOT Gen 1 and it is NOT a continuation. Outside of the characters we already have I personally don't want to see ANY old characters return. I think it will cheapen the whole experience to those of us familiar with the original line... Prowl Nightwolf
I have the original Exo-Toa packed away somewhere in a box. It was my brothers as he got it to go with his Tahu. So I know how big this MOC must be. So on to your MOC, It is a great build and quite large and menacing. You are right that there is currently no premise for Mechanical suits in Gen2 so saying this is or isn't Gen2 is not without opinionated bias. Me I am expecting that while there will be some Technic as LoSS shows, it should have some form of the CCBS as that is what they will be going for this season. So sadly while I do really like this MOC and would love one for my own Toa, I am falling under the "Gen2 is and should have CCBS" side of the bias line. Aanchir
Very cool! I'm a bit bothered by all the disparate textures but the overall structure definitely works. It looks great with Tahu in the cockpit. Although this feels a lot less like "armor" than the original since many parts of it are so spindly. Elephant Knight
This is supremely awesome! I recently found a partial Exo-Toa set at a thrift store, finally completing the set (I had slowly been piecing one together) I really like the look of this. Very mechanical, and way more poseable than the original, and Tahu looks great in it! the legs look a bit spindly, that would be my only critique. Toa Smoke Monster
The fact that Gen 2 Tahu can operate this MOC like Tahu Mata could with the Exo-Toa just makes this even cooler. This definitely captures the feel of the original Exo-Toa. Its launcher just looks amazing. Its claw arm looks really neat too. Good luck in the contest! Akavakaku
The fact that the new Toa can use it makes this a great design! It could have used a bit more CCBS and a bit more orange, but otherwise it's amazing. Nidhiki of the Shadows
This is interesting - normally I would say that the lack of CCBS pieces makes this an inadequate model for the contest - but the idea of it being a recreation of the Exo-Toa that can fit a modern day hero model fits the criteria perfectly. It's a beautifully complex technic model and it emulates (and fulfils) the role excellently. Fantastic idea, very well designed. -NotS
