Self Moc: Anapouri the Weaponsmith (2015)

So I finally got around to revamping my Self Moc from 2012. I took an entirely different approach for her.

I was inspired heavily by some Rahkshi designs that I had seen floating around here, but the construct is entirely my own take on a body chassis using the new CCBS system. I incorporated some Hero Factory parts that I had managed to pick up as well as many of the new elements from the 2015 BIONICLE theme.

My concept for this design is that Anapouri is actually a snake-like entity that uses a suit in order to perform daily tasks and functions. Similar to the Rahkshi but in her own way. I constructed the MOC in two pieces. The first half was the body/torso frame. The second half was the snake body and head. The snake portion of her build attaches to her body via her back, creating a sturdy spine, tail, and reinforcing the build entirely. However, the body doesn't need her to be attached to support itself. She is extremely articulated and has little problems with pose ability. I made sure that the joints were free enough for a wide range of motions and action. There are no gear functions but I added some greebles in the neck area for flare.

She dons a smiths hammer, used to forge weapons of the mightiest caliber, but formidable enough in its own right in case she needs to take matters into her own hands.

-----------------

I even wrote a little Okoto style blurb to make her a little more interesting. I made her into a weaponsmith this time around, which is something I never normally go for when I make something so I thought it would be an interesting shift.

-----------------

On the mythical island of Okoto, a lone smithery exists somewhere hidden among the mysteries of the lush forests and dark caverns.

Anapouri, the serpentine blacksmith, carves her name in history by creating some of the most refined weapons on the island. Those who are rare to grace her presence often find themselves lost in the tales of old, a craft passed down through the ages for both the working class and the defenders of the islands many troubles. There is little she cannot forge, and a weapon that has passed through her dexterous fingers is sure to etch itself into the memories of those who bear witness to it.

I'm guessing that your selfMOC is meant to be a G2 Rahkshi, well I do like that it's not like people that make a MOC with a Rahkshi head a Toa when it's in fact a Rahkshi. The thing that I hate about the MOC is the annoying rahkshi head and nuva boobs (especially with the two togather), I mean I'm alright with the Rahkshi head because it did meant to have that for the snake-like, but it would be great to change those nuva shoulder with something else.

Anyways I also like the snake part of the MOC, the hammer looks great and the color scheme is good but the pearl dark gray on the upper looks really bugs me.

No, it's not. I was inspired by the idea of Rahkshi but she isn't one. She's basically just a snake with a suit.

I can understand the opinion of the Nuva armor, but I used them because I like them. It helps balance out all of the angles and, due to her having an already extremely solid build, adds a soft touch to her appearance. I do want her to appear feminine. Other armor usage was too masculine for me and you wouldn't have been able to read her as a female unless I simply stated it.

The snake mechanic is probably my favorite part of her. I keep taking her off of the suit just to wrap her around my wrist or something.

I Like it much better than the 2012 version.

And the Nuva armor is executed much better than most builds

The Red CCBS Going down the back kinda to me gives the appearance of hair.

Thank you!

Yeah, I wanted the Nuva armor to read also as feminine ARMOR, not just feminine assets. And yeah, I can totally see that about the red CCBS on the back. I had a lot of fun using the new system to build her. It allowed for a lot more possibilities and complex framework than I expected.

I might try making a mock-up of this in spare time. The design is fantastic, and it just feels so original!

The model looks pretty solid and sturdy, and the colors are pretty evenly distributed, as well. :)

Oh thank you! If you want, I can take some pictures of each part disassembled so you can see how she's constructed if you want to do something similar. She's actually a very simple build!

I think I can piece it together on my own, but the torso I could use a little, teensy-weensy bit of help with. ;)

Cut pieces? I didn't cut any parts or manipulate anything unnaturally.

EDIT:

If you're talking about the parts on her tail, I didn't cut those. The little red sword blades that go in them come out and can be put back into them.

I'll take pictures of it later this evening if you need photographic proof. I don't appreciate being called a liar. You could just ask politely.

EDIT: Here's your proof. I'd like an apology for the accusation, ShadowWolfHount.

Agreed. At least you provided pictures. Too bad mine can't do that, as they are kind of skewed when it comes to the layering of the red. You must have gotten the perfect pair! :)

Oh, well I am sorry about that and calling you a liar, I have a lot of those pieces and they have never do that, plus I have a hate with misleading thing when it commonly known that it's something else.

It is known that those piece are together (I'll take picture later of example furno blade), it seem like those are maybe knock-off blade pieces, but just to make sure, have you gotten any knockoff sets before?

Well, for future reference, don't assume. You know what that does to you and me. ;)

And no. It's a Furno Jet Machine I picked up on Ebay. I didn't keep the box however because it was really banged up when I got it. I only buy LEGO brand bricks and parts.
