hiddenderek Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) Made my own version of Pohatu, Master of Stone. (Gallery) Part of the same series as my Lewa, Master of Jungle. (Link to lewa). I've been working on this on and off for the past few days.Fun fact: There are 16 ball-and-axel hole pieces used in this figure. A look at the Torso without any armor:http://i.imgur.com/VqZEBFF.jpg Its actually funny, because most of the torso just rests on the technic holes of the waist. You'd think it wouldn't be connected, but the section of the torso with the bohrok eye pieces is connected to the waist and holds the rest of the torso down and keep it all together and sturdy. Toa Doublebee Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) Wonderful work One question, why didn't you make it so the rangs can fit on his feet? It should be really simple to do with the connector piece used in his um, crotch area. Edit: Oh, that Lewa is yours? I hope you don't mind, I linked a picture of it to a thread as an example for the hand design Edited April 18, 2015 by Toa Doublebee 1 Quote
P~M Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Wow, this is a really nice build! I'm always a fan of custom torsos (as well as revamps, haha), and this one is quite the cake-taker. Those legs are fantastic, too--very sturdy-looking! I agree with Doublebee, though--'rang attachment spots would be perfect for the feet. Why did you choose the "technically not attached" method for the torso, by the way? Quote

I hope you don't mind, I linked a picture of it to a thread as an example for the hand design Thanks! Yeah it is mine. Thats fine. I didn't because it gets in the way of the shin armor and I really liked how the shin armor kind of overlapped his feet, similar to how it happens on kopaka 2015. Wow, this is a really nice build! I used it because it worked, basically haha. Its pretty sturdy and fits together nicely. I'm also a fan of non traditional connections, as long as plastic isn't stressed Edited April 18, 2015 by hiddenderek Quote
Pohatu: Uniter of Stone Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 This Moc is POHATU APPROVED Quote I HATE SCORPIOS ~Pohatu Master of Stone, 2015
Prowl Nightwolf Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 This Pohatu looks really cool, I may have even picked him up as one of my first 2015 sets if it looked like this. As it stands I am leaning towards Kopaka and leaving Pohatu as the last Toa and 2015 set I may get if at all. Not sure about the non-connected torso bit as I wouldn't want my Pohatu to go the way of Darth Maul while I was playing or posing him. would have to witness the sturdiness of it before I'd make a final decision. As it stands though this "Looks" really good. Basically the bottom part of the torso (which is most of it) just rests on the technic holes of the waist but the top half is connected to the waist and keeps it in place. I can turn him upside down and shake him and nothing happens. Edited the OP to be a little more clear. Edited April 19, 2015 by hiddenderek Quote
Sergei Rahkmaninoff Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Woah. That is pretty awesome. I like how much of Earth Orange (is that the color?) you managed to incorporate into the design beyond just those parts which come with Pohatu of Okoto. And that custom torso... really cool. The pistons and gears and everything make it look very definitely mechanical, while the CCBS keeps it looking sleek and modern. Well done. Quote
TheGreatSpirit Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Absolutely incredible. I'll probably steal take notes on that torso design of yours, absolute genius engineering right there. Btw, is there any chance that we could get a pic of his back? Quote In the time before time, the Great Spirit descended from the heavens, carrying with him the ones called the Matoran, to this island paradise. We were separate and without purpose, so the great spirit blessed us with the Three Virtues: Unity, Duty and Destiny. We embraced these gifts and in gratitude named our home Mata Nui, after the great spirit himself.
