Onvermel
So last week I poster "Dukat toa of stone". Today I am showing you folks the third member of the toa Eciep. Vakamu! (Click image for emore pictures) So Vakamu is a lot like Dukat in being rather aggressive. Due to their similar personalities they had been know as twins of a sort. However Vakamu is a lot more rude and far more willing to bend the Toa Code. He also doesn't really like Onvermel all that much. Not really my favorite of the team but i am more of less pleased with him. -Onvermel- 6 Quote "I believe in certainties. Wiriamu
He's an interesting model; a little too similar to Vakama with his name and that Huna, but otherwise pretty good. The Invisible Handman
Pretty neat build, I feel like he could do with a bit more silver distributed through his design though. Onvermel
He's an interesting model; a little too similar to Vakama with his name and that Huna, but otherwise pretty good.Honestly speaking it's because way back when I derived his name from Vakamu and Ahkmou. I just never was inventive enough to get him a new name so this kinda just stuck. I'll say this it's not as bad as my (Onvermel) original name. It was Onupurple. Yeah pretty bad.Pretty neat build, I feel like he could do with a bit more silver distributed through his design though.I completely agree he definitely needs more silver. Hopefully I'll get around to adding some in his arms I think. -Onvermel- 1 Quote "I believe in certainties. Second the orange armor came from those technic Hockey sets from 2003 such as this guy http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=3544-1&name=Hockey%20Game%20Set&category=%5BSports%5D%5BHockey%5D#T=S&O={} -Onvermel- Quote "I believe in certainties. Toa of Ice - 1987
Really good. Its a good custom design, my advice is that i think his fingernail/claws are unnecessary. Edited November 15, 2016 by necross hordika
Onvermel
Really good. Its agood custom design, my advice is that i think his fingernail/claws are unnecessary.I do half agree with the advice. Normally I wouldn't of done it however his original body used a Onue claw in orange as one hand so I wanted to keep the clawed hand. However I do have second thoughts for it. Thanks. -Onvermel- Quote "I believe in certainties. The strength of my limbs, the power of my mask, the sharp edges of my blades — that is what I build my plans around. Endless Sea (Alaki Nuva)
Apart from the silver distribution (a necessary evil, I imagine- I doubt you had the parts in orange or white), this seems like a fantastic MoC. I really want to figure out how you made that torso- it reminds me a lot of Toa Mata torso pieces, except entirely custom. Quote It is not for us to decide the fate of angels. Master Inika
Excellent. What struck me about this model was the innovative custom work on the torso and head, particularly how solid and full it looks in spite of not relying on conventional pieces. The color scheme could use a little bit of work; in particular, I would say either add more silver to the body or remove the chest and other silver bits. As it is, the silver chest and upper legs (and gray axles) detract from the fairly pure, Toa Mata-reminiscent color scheme (the silver chain works fine, though). On the whole, though, it's a great model. Quote "You are an absolute in these uncertain times. Your past is forgotten, and your future is an empty book. As for the torso I'm glad it looks like the Mata's as that was the intent and it's good to hear that I succeeded -Onvermel- Quote "I believe in certainties.
