IC: Skrall/Sutrox

"I'll tag along. This will be more exciting than my day job. However, I have a request: first dibs on any foreign or alien technology that we might find. It's for my line of work, or rather, that of my co-workers. I'm fine with you redistributing my other rewards to the others here - " pointing to Serka, Vin, and Sayana - "For the purpose of fairness."

IC: Vin Halett - New Atero (Anvil Bar)

"Request denied," Vin said flatly, followed by a firm tone that dared Sutrox to object. "You want first dibs, you earn it."

He held the Glatorian's gaze momentarily before his eyes flickered to the server dropping off his food on the nearby table. Sliding over, he munched on a few fries, golden and crisp, then moved on to the burger stacked like a gourmet's heart attack waiting to happen. It was supposedly the fan favourite on the menu, and he could understand why. A jalapeño patty, pepper jack cheese, minced onion and garlic, all topped off by horseradish mayo?

Looks like he'd have to come back to the Anvil Bar more often.

"So Joe, gimme some details here. Where is this guy, and when do we go see him?"

Sayana seemed almost amused by Vin's flat 'request denied', sipping her drink again. Her eyes drifted back to Joe, despite how many less grimy things there were to look at.

IC-Zavon (Tesara)

Zavon waved at Akita as he headed towards the port. Sitting by it's charging post was the Sunset Rider, It's golden finish glistening in the mid-morning sunlight. He was certain there wasn't a finer ship in this port. He began the daily checkup on his craft, starting by checking to see if the engine cylinders were in order, and if the Ammunition bays were loaded, and if the power couplings were properly connected...

"Either way... it's home now." She turns back to her watch. The horizon still seemed clear, but you could never be too careful.

IC: Karanta - Fe Border Patrol

Karanta nodded in response, and resumed her watching of the wastes. The entire reason she signed up for border patrol was for some excitement. Even if she was looking at barren wastes most of the time, there was always a chance something interesting might happen. Always.

Hm, she mused to herself, maybe I should try and sign up to escort someone some time...

IC: Saffina - Cliffside (Capstone Bar and Market)

"Your species... matures differently than mine," the Vortixx said, though seeing as to how he was the first to start throwing barbs around, it was quickly becoming apparent to her that his particular level of maturity should be called into question. "Either way, I don't need to know your past, because I already know your type."

"And your problem, Turaga, is that you've likely been wasting yours carrying out the will of someone who's been feeding you nothing but lies over the centuries, only for one bad day to suddenly rear its ugly head and turn your entire world completely upside-down. Then, what happens? Do you try to deal with it, or start drinking away your problems like a normal person? No, you start lashing out against the world around you like a Karzing child, supplementing your arsenal with your numerous frustrations as well as developing a superiority complex, simply because you are bitter that your past actions as a perpetual do-gooder are now entirely meaningless, and you no longer have anything left to justify your existence. Well, I've got news for you, buddy; boo-#######-hoo. Look around you. Have you ever stopped to seriously consider what it takes to survive here in Cliffside? What we go through just to ensure that we get to live another day? What we wouldn't do just to secure ourselves a fraction of what your privileged ### already has? Those beings you see before you are the hardiest group of ######## living on the face of this planet, and as one who prides herself on being one of their number, I can safely say that on the behalf of everyone in here, I've had just about enough of your blatant disrespect."

"If you can't run with the Kavinika, then you should go back to sitting at the kids' table where you belong, and if I were you, I'd take off before anyone else discovers that you've clearly overstayed your welcome."

GM IC: City Guards - Tesara.

"I caught him!" the jokey guard cheered, leaning down to cuff Otho, "You reckon Captain Jira will promote me for the capture of such a dangerous criminal?"

"Sir, he crashed on his own." His partner pointed out, "And all he did was mess up a field."

"No, he didn't. I tackled him. You saw it. Isn't that right?"

A sigh. "Very well, sir."

GM IC: Silvana/Zesk - Canyon.

Silvana, having only just powered up her engines, didn't have time to evade the initial impact of Kathok's barrage. The heat beams bored into the plating of the Whisper's hull, and given that the vessel lacked any heat-resistant or reinforced plating, it would only be a matter of moments before they melted right through and started scorching the internal components.

Fortunately, Kathok had decided to fire off his force blaster as well. Just as she was trying to lift off, the concussive blast struck near one of her engines, crumpling a section of the wing and the engine's outer casing, and sending the hovering vessel spinning wildly sideways. It had moved her out of the fixed path of the heat beams, but it had also, unfortunately, shunted her closer to the advancing Zesk, several of which began leaping up out of the sand and attacking the Whisper directly.

Once upon a time, the creatures had been scared of the colossal aircraft, and other clanking mechanical weaponry the beings of the MU had brought with them. But after spending over a hundred years trapped down in these canyons, with only each other as the most readily available food source, fear was no longer an option.

The creatures were beginning to spread out, lunging up out of the sand towards Kathok and Taurek's aircraft as well.

GM IC: Varim - Capstone, Cliffside.

"I'm afraid you've completely lost me, my dear," Varim replied smoothly, evening managing to force out a friendly smile, "First you wanted to know why I'm here, then you threatened to kill me, and now you're telling me I don't belong here, and should leave. It's particularly ironic that you're now choosing to defend the people of this miserable place, when earlier on your were trying to exploit information from me solely for your own benefit."

He glanced momentarily down towards the drink she'd sent to his table, before looking back to her, "You're selfish, self-centered, and and apparently love being the centre of attention. I don't think you even actually care why I'm here. You just want to feel important."

IC: Taurek - You have got to be karzing kidding me

skakdi.

Now those insect-things were surrounding us, and the Vortixx was most likely going to be eaten.

I was faced with a dilemma.

  • Save the Vortixx, possibly earning information or even a pay. There's also the higher likelyhood that I would be stabbed in the back, or that those creatures would eat me alive
  • Fly off, keeping me alive but not getting me any other rewards.

I decided to go for the former option. Getting out of my ship, I pulled up my launcher, and fired a couple of rounds at the Zesk nearby the Vortixx's ship, advancing on the overturned Jetrax.

GM IC: Something Nasty - The Chasm.

The creature heaved the weighty girth of its segmented body up over the edge of the crater, multi-jointed limbs skittering over the crumbling rock face. Down below, in the black pit, it had no need of vision, but now compound eyes began to click open, squeezing out of their protective membranes on the front of its malformed face. The sunlight was blinding, terrifying, and yet, strangely inviting. The Above was a place of rich meals and delicious violence, and the creature knew all too well that many of its kin had met their ends while attempting to assail the settlements were the meals made their homes. But every time one of them emerged, the guiding sentience waiting Below saw more, experienced more, and was slowly piecing together an understanding of how the beings Above operated.

The sentience had strategised a safe route leading all the way to the doorstep of New Atero, and this freshly-emerged monster would be the first to try to follow it. Flexing its carapace, it lurched into motion, hugging the canyon wall and moving slowly. The sentience was confident that the shadows of the canyons, and the lingering cloud of smog from The Chasm itself would provide concealment enough for the creature to remain hidden until nightfall, when it could make advance past the fortifications and watchtowers to assail the city directly.

The people of this world were so fixated on supremacy over the air above. Their weapons were pointed skywards, and their eyes watched the horizon. How quickly they forgot that they all still lived on the ground...

IC: Saffina - Cliffside (Capstone Bar and Market)

"You were threatened and told to leave because you were being a ########," she said, as a matter-of-factly. "Not many people here have the patience to deal with #########. And whether I'm out for myself or not, this place is still my home. Sticking up for it when some... outsider shows up, suposedly wanting to do business, only to run their mouth and spew nothing but venom towards its inhabitants, is just part of the process of keeping it that way. We might not cater to weaklings like in some of the other settlements, but we tend to be even less tolerant of people who think that they can just stroll on in here and walk all over us like their #### doesn't stink."

"As for being selfish and self-centered, sure, why not. I've heard better insults thrown around behind my back over the past few days by fishermen, so if that's all you've got, then you seriously need to work on your vocabulary. Whatever your reasons for being here are, however, if it's discovered that they go against the interests of Cliffside, you'll have a lot more to worry about than just a few harsh words."

With that, she downed the rest of her beverage, shrugged, and then proceeded to reach across the table to drink his too, slamming the glass back onto the wooden surface in front of him before returning to her feet and storming off towards the door. If her current body language was any indication, it was pretty clear that she had lost all interest in putting up with his grumpy, ungrateful ### any longer.

And to think that I was actually trying to get a job out of him at one point. What a #####.

What did you just say, you beta ? I'll have you know that this tech is my livelihood, or rather, the key to my advancement! Meanwhile, you're probably just a...

... Actually, you have a good point.

Skrall's urge to slit Vin's throat was checked by the fact that his words made sense. Earning it was how it was done back in the day, after all.

Resuming his act of the blunt, detached, and happy-go-lucky Sutrox, he responded Joe's description of the contact:

"Pardon me, but are we going to see him, or are we going to see him? How cooperative will your acquaintance be? Should we bring a sword or a smile?"

"Yeah, it might fly, but what about coolant failure? Short circuiting battery? Pipe leakage? The whole place screams of a deathtrap waiting to spring! You sure you don't want anything patched up?"

GM IC: Varim - Capstone, Cliffside.

He sighed contentedly, leaning back in his chair and waving for a server to bring him a drink. He was used to some measure of politeness in this place, and the Vortixx's endless string of insults and intrusive questions was only serving to heighten the frustration and tension already building up inside of him.

Arriving here several hours early had been a mistake, clearly. A Turaga in this place drew attention, even one who was a regular. But a Turaga alone, obviously waiting for someone, that was only going to get even more greedy eyes interested.

Next time he had to meet with someone, he was going to choose the venue.

The spiky-armoured elite didn't move from where it stood beside the door, except to lean briefly out the doorway and shout a guttural order to some unseen servant outside.

"Now," Hakkzan made no indication that he intended to sit down, "Who are you two gentlemen, and why are you here?"

Akita had just resumed her stroll into town when a small jetpack-wielding figure blasted through the air, smashing face-first into a wall with a resounding crack.

"Uh...ow?..." was all that left Akita's mouth.

IC: Ezezko - New Atero Tower

Keep cool, keep cool...

Picking himself up and making a grandiose movement of dusting himself off, he plopped into the nicest and biggest looking seat available, leaving a goofy Matoran sized seat for Big, Red and Ugly.

"I'm here about the experimental vehicle, sir." He stated matter a fact before tossing a sidewards glance at the Skakdi.

He plopped down into the seat, shrugging as Ezezko took the bigger one, the tiny chair groaning in agony under his weight.

"I am here for the vehicle too, but I also be here about information on Fe." He leaned forward slightly as he finished, glancing with a malicious grin at Ezezko. "Got the general area sketched for where they start their runs. However, it'll be some time before I can detect the entrance. Hard corners, y'know?"

It became evident that the gristly Skakdi held a rolled-up paper. How he had hidden that for so long was odd, to say the least. "Of course, that's more personal than I'm willing to disclose at the moment," He made it very obvious he was glaring at the shorter one. "So I'll let him have his say first." He leaned forward even more and whispered as loudly as he could. "You never know when they're one of them in disguise, see..."

Leaning back, he smiled (which was mostly revolting) in a kind and overly soft manner. "I'm sorry I interrupted you, ma'a-uh, sir. Please continue."

IC: Kathok - Near Tesera

Adrenaline rushes through Kathok's body as Sunmaker surges forwards and up even further in its flight away from the destruction. The air itself drums a shuddering rhythm on the jetrax's hull, while the wind whipping through the open cockpit bores a hole in Kathok's soul - a hole filled by ecstatic exhilaration. His hands writhe uncontrollably over the control panel, his inner eye feeling every flex of the creaking metal construct around him.

Hawk-like, the Sunmaker reaches the pinnacle of its climb, slowing as it banks around an imaginary corner. Kathok is focused, but his eyes are wide - each a searing turquoise point in a viridescent sea. Lazily, his aforementioned oculi swing round to fix on the scene below him. A multitude of creatures are swarming Kathok's enemies, locust-like. His thoughts drip into place as time slows with concentration. Kathok is impulsive but not reckless. He decides he will destroy Silvana's ship simply for the satisfaction if nothing else, but in this case his motivation is twofold. He sees that if he destroys that aircraft, the bruiser who was so desperate for answers will take the vortixx with him. Yes...in fact, as his eyes see the scene with unnatural sharpness, he realises that this is happening now. Wonderful. The prize is saved, but neatly tied up for the taking.

And if the worst comes to the worst, he can just kill them both anyway.

In an instant, the moment is gone and Sunmaker is lunging downwards, piercing the atmosphere. Its shape is a jagged black blur against the sky, engines thundering  - cacophonous - while its weapons crackle with energy. Kathok braces himself, a control clutched in each hand. Sunmaker lacerates the air with its sickeningly quick approach, ground and aircraft wrenched together with exponential speed. And at this moment, the force blaster is activated again, a wall of inescapable annihilation sweeping like a flood towards Silvana's ship: Kathok aims for the engines, but any important bit will do. But Sunmaker continues its hurtling nosedive, getting closer and closer by the nanosecond, the blur of its form coalescing into shapes whose advance is frighteningly rapid, until, until, until--

Just as inevitable doom looms for everyone involved - Sunmaker close enough for the grounded combatants to see Kathok clearly - the deadly-fast vehicle swoops slightly upwards, plummet curtailed as it curves back into the sky.

when whisp'ring shadows are all but washed away

a sense of victory doth claim the day

when crooked brutes do steal such shadows' heart

presented with thy prize thou surely art

Mistaking his sister for his brother would've been acceptable, but for this Skakdi to so casually and blatantly ignore his postured gruffness, carefully cultivated ruggedness and unmistakably masculine world-weariness was too much. Just too much.

GM IC: Jira/Those Two Guards - Tesara.

"What's this?" Jira had been in the middle of passing out new orders when a pair of Matoran guards - Wait, these two again? - had approached, carrying an unconscious Matoran between them.

"We caught the psychopath who vandalised the fields," one of the pair snapped a salute, while the other just rolled his eyes, "He put up one karz of a fight, but we finally grounded him!"

"Okay, just throw him in a cell for a while, have one of the medics check him over, and let me know when he wakes up."

"No, please," he insisted, "If you have something to share, please do so." The prototype test could wait, but any news on Fe was an urgent issue. At least, that's what Varim had told Hakkzan before he'd left for Cliffside again.

GM IC: Silvana/Zesk - Canyon.

Thanks to Taurek's shots, several of the Zesk, including a particularly large specimen that had been leaning across the control panel trying to get to Silvana, were driven back, allowing her to right her wild spin, and take back control of the Whisper.

She lifted up from the sand, performing a vicious barrel roll as she ascended to fling away the last few Zesk. But as she completed her roll and looked up - forwards, really - she saw Kathok's ship turning, beginning to plummet down to open fire at her again. Cursing, she tried to swing the Whisper to the side, but was too slow, a stray shot from the force blaster impacting a lower section of the chassis, once again knocking her off course.

It took a few precious seconds to once again right herself, but fortunately for her it appeared that Kathok had continued on downwards, sweeping low towards the ground, perhaps to taunt the still-grounded Taurek, before curving back skywards. Seizing the opportunity he'd provided for her, she oriented the Whisper south-east once again, and pushed the engines to their full acceleration. Given the existing damage, she was going to need to make a karzload of repairs, but she would worry about that after she got away from these psychopaths.

Back on the ground, Taurek would find that his attempt at heroism hadn't been rewarded quite as well as he'd hoped, and that, now that he was the only combatant still on the ground, the Zesk were now focusing their full attention on him. Worse still, the larger creature that the group had glimpsed before had emerged again, a curve of something glistening white briefly breaking the sand, circling around behind the incoming Zesk swarm.

Taurek would likely realise at this point that now was a very good time to leave.

"Well, of you need not my aid anymore, I guess I'll just be going then. But the Barrens? Hmm.... I'll go there I suppose. Anything more than a hunk of Protodermis would be of value... Then again, I need the cash."

Ezoba glanced over to the other Glatorian within his sights for a brief moment, and just stared for a time. Ezoba then shouted out to the rest of them. "Hey! Y'know I never learned your name" looking over to the Female Skakdi.

IC: Parii - Cliffside

Parii counted 28 widgets and put them back into his backpack; not bad, might last for the next two or three days. He was getting worried - he couldn't get his mind off the paper stolen back in Capstone. What was he going to do with it? It didn't serve much purpose to him, it could only bring trouble and unwanted attention. Also, was that Steltian Bruiser still drunk? Is he even intelligent enough to notice that the paper's gone?, Parii pondered.

He closed the bag and checked for any holes; he'd had many encounters with thieves who'd cut passerbies' bags open and steal whatever's inside. Gotta love Cliffside, right?

All of a sudden, he felt like someone was watching him. Frozen in fear, Parii's eyes carefully studied the surrounding. Everything seemed calm, just him, his bag, 'his' pile of trash and the street- oh Mata Nui.

A familiar Skakdi figure was watching from the other side of the street, glaring at him just like predators glare at their prey. In a milisecond Parii's head was filled with various kinds of curses that would put a drunk sailor to shame. He took a deep breath. Act slow, he thought. Calm down.

He stood up and put the bag on his shoulders, trying to observe the Skakdi without making unnecessary eye contact. Then he tried his best to walk casually but ended up scurrying away. He needed to get to Capstone as soon as possible before #### happens.

OOC: Sorry for being inactive, school and exams happened. I'll post the Skakdi's profile in a few minutes.

IC: Otho - Tesara Jail

The raging headache Otho had was the first thing he even remotely cared about. The fact he was in a small steel-and-concrete cell didn't even catch his attention at first.

"...Oooouagggghhh..." He groaned. He sat up slowly, both hands resting on his head. He felt small cracks in the top of his mask, probably from whatever he smashed into with...."Erika? Wait...a second, where's my jetpack?" Otho clambered to a standing position as fast as he could without blacking out and walked to the cell door. "Hello! Anybody?! I need to be released!"

IC Maldrakk

He looked at Ezezko for a moment longer - maybe 30 seconds - unsure if Hakkzan's choice to reveal this in front of whoever this was was a wise idea. He eventually gave up, dropping his overly flamboyant manner and odd accent. Unfolding and unrolling a paper about the size of his chest, he laid it across Hakkzan's table.

It was a rough sketch of a canyon area, top-down, with some erased lines and a few tiny words clearly addressed to Maldrakk's memory instead of being legible. "This is the pass where the guard finishes their run." He turned the paper around so the larger Skakdi could see it properly. "They split the guard up into half-day sections. Two, maybe three at a time. Now and then there's only one, although they scramble the pattern every week or so. If we want to get a clear drop on them we'll need to time about an hour before they change shift, and hopefully only get one."

"There," He pointed with his smallest finger to an odd contortion in the middle line, "is a Zesk nest with particularly jumpy Zesk. We could clear it out and establish a hideaway, except we'd then need a permanent resident to ward off Zesk or Vorox trying to reclaim it." His hand slid to the closest end of the paper towards his side. "They make a wide loop just past the edge here, or at least most of them do. Sabotage attempts perpendicular to the path have always led to some sort of casualty on our part. They train their fighters good. Seems like they mostly use Jetrax."

"Sour little imps get high suspicious if you so much as move a wrench inside." He somewhat snarled. "Yet your widgets pay good, and they always listen to a handful or so. Odd tunnel," He continued, turning the paper over to show a more 3D picture of the inside runway. "connects outside and yet it's pitch dark in there. Figured it must look like a cavern or an old lava spout."

"They get real nasty if you venture too far down the runway towards the exit. Got me a bad rap when they threw me out by the heels, but another couple of orders and they were cheery again. You can tell Varim that the last spark's gone out. I'm going to need a new emergency in order to get leads again. Gonna need some way to smuggle a mapping device with me on the trip there and the return trip, or find some way to cut through the blindfold without them knowing. Seems like they want me to crash sometimes, y'know?"

He rolled the paper back up but didn't remove it from Hakkzan's desk. "You can keep that, by the way." He said. "I've got a duplicate. Fly-overs aren't gonna cut it; we need a safer way to get through those crags and canyons.Next time I go I'll be starting the flame against Tesara."

OOC: Oops soz nato...

IC: Kathok - Near Tesera

Kathok isn't particularly irritated when he sees Silvana's ship emerge in tact - after all, the longer this interaction takes, the more satisfying its eventual resolution will be. Kathok isn't a sadist, but he enjoys being the hunter, instilling fear in his quarries. Seeing them scramble to escape, trip and stumble in their panic, gives him a wild sense of power. It's like this now, as Sunmaker shoots through the sky after Whisper, setting the very air ablaze with its engines - all of which are at full power. As the distance closes between Kathok and the damaged ship, he prepares to fire again...

IC: Taurek - In pursuit

(recommended listening)

"Not on my watch."

The skakdi's ship had also gotten the same idea to pursue the Vortixx.

The auxilary booster turned on, and the Deliverance closed a lot of the gap between me and the Skakdi.

For a few moments, I flew at the same speed, consistently at the same distance from the robber's ship.

Then, I held down the firing mechanism on the ship, firing 2 freeze discs at the back engine of the Skakdi's ship.

GM IC: Those Two Guards - Tesara Jail.

"You're in no position to be making demands," the same guard who'd arrested Otho materialised before his cell, smirking wickedly, "What you need is to learn some manners."

"Sir, we're just supposed to just give him a 'stern talking to' and let him off with a fine."

"Quiet. I'm the senior officer. You do as I say."

"So you keep reminding me."

GM IC: Hakkzan - The Tower, New Atero.

Being the puppet king that he was, Hakkzan obviously had absolutely no idea what any of this meant.  "Excellent investigative... investigating..." he eventually replied, "...I'm sure the people of Fe appreciate you... doing whatever it is you've been doing for them..." Although, he was pretty sure Fe was in a mountain range, so he wasn't entirely sure what a map of some random canyon had to do with that.

"Stronius?" He picked up the rolled-up papers and waved to the burly Skrall still lurking in the doorway, "If you would be so kind to take this to Varim's office. I imagine it will be more meaningful to him than it is for me." The Skrall remained strangely silent, but obliged with Hakkzan's command, taking the papers and vanishing down the stairs.

Moments later, a new Skrall, this one of the more common caste, took his place just inside the doorway. It appeared that The Tower's guards were not trusting enough of the guests to leave them alone with Hakkzan. Just behind the new guard was the servant Stronius had called for earlier, bearing a platter laden with drinking glasses and various types of refreshments.

"Ah, our drinks are here," Hakkzan grinned his characteristic skakdi grin, "Let's get to business. You were here about the prototype vehicle testing, were you not?"

GM IC: Silvana - Canyon.

Even travelling at top speed, Silvana knew it would still be another good five, ten minutes, before she reached the cover of the nearest canyon wall. With no obstacles in her path, she was free to twist around in her seat to look back at her pursuers. The Rockoh pilot had managed to get his vessel airborne, but it was the Jetrax closing in on her from behind that was Silvana's main concern. Given the battered condition of her craft, she knew the Whisper wasn't performing at full capacity, and her attacker would surely overtake her sooner rather than later.

She needed to turn the tables on this psychopath.

Turning back around in her seat, she braced herself for the lurch... and cut the power to her engines, the action being accompanied by the grinding clunk of the engines internal mechanisms suddenly halting. Momentum still carried the Whisper forwards for a bit, of course, but weight carried it down, back towards the sand. Hopefully, given the fact that he was travelling at top speed, and likely wouldn't have anticipated her maneuver, her attacker would fly right on past her.

IC : Ezoba - New Atero, Trade District

Ezoba stood around the center, eyeing the odd silence and vacancy of people around, save the few matoran and others at the market stands. Ezoba walked over to the metal and scrap trade-in station, and looked over to the worker manning the station. "Hey, I search the outskirts of the Chasm, and found this piece of Protodermis. What do you suppose this much is worth?"

The person manning the station took a moment to notice Ezoba and understand the question at hand. "A piece of Protodermis?!" said the Station Worker. "Yeah..? I just want to know what it costs is all. Do you have an estamate?" The Worker paused, looking over to the piece of scrap, and back to Ezoba several times. "You said you found this on the outskirts of the Chasm...??! It could be worth anything from just a few cents, to a whole fortune, depending on it's source of origin, given the sight it was found." said the Worker. "Ugh.. Look, I tend to find all of my scrap there. I tend not to expect a high price for any if this. But in recent I have been low on supplies. No one seems to need a mercenary around these parts these days." said Ezoba. "You work as a mercenary? How does your list of kills look?" said the Worker whilst examining the Protodermis. "Rather short actually. I am mostly hired as a mercenary guard. For Caravans, and overnight campers I come across in the Cliffside, and Barrens surrounding it and other areas." replied Ezoba.

After some time, the worker finally put down the piece of Protodermis, and gave Ezoba the results. "After a quick look, this seems to be an odd piece. More tightly bounded molecularly than most Protodermis. Seemingly ancient, beyond even that which makes up my armored body. But not too different from ancient Matoran bodies from millenia ago, at least based on scriptures I have read. You may just have a piece of someone from long ago. A piece from an old ship that flaked off... Or maybe, just maybe. If you are one to believe it, this may just be from the ancient robot that collapsed into the land, that made the Chasm, at least according to legend. I can't tell really for sure definitively, there are so many variations of this material, and so many differieng structures that define it throughout the ages." said the Worker. "So, you're telling me that this really is Ancient? And I just took it as being a piece of junk." replied Ezoba. "Really I can't tell for sure, but I'm willing to give you a big payoff for it. Say, 500 widgets?" said the Worker. "Hmm.... That would be far more than enough to pay for my supplies, and keep me fed and bathed for at least a month or so, if I ration it out.. But, given the possible origins of the piece, I think getting it appraised would be wise." replied Ezoba. "500 widgets is but the lowest estamate I can give. If it all turns out legitamate, this can be put into the monestary of artifacts, and of course, pay you the equivalent amount proper by then. But that is only if it is legitimate. But even if it isn't ancient, this is still a quality piece of metal." said the Worker. "Hmm.... It is an offer that would be difficult to pass up, but again, I don't want to deal with regret. I have far too much of that on my shoulders already." replied Ezoba. "Well, tell you what. I'll oay you now for it, and I'll have it appraised within a few days from now. Will you be in town within that time? Or are you simply stopping by?" asked the Worker. "My past in this place is long, and painful. It is hard to stay here for me. I'd rather not have to suffer." replied Ezoba, with a look of disgrunted pain on his face. "I understand. You can come back any time you wish. I'll mark you down just in case if one off us forget, and if you don't come back in a week from now I'll put a notice out." replied the Worker. "Thank you." said Ezoba. The Worker handed Ezoba the Widgets, and said his goodbyes.

Ezoba made it to the Terani, now it was mid-day, and the sky was clear, the sun shining behind him, casting his shadow in front of his view and onto the Terani. "Onto the suppliers in the Cliffside." said Ezoba. Ezoba manned homself into the Terani, throttling the controls, and readying the thrusters and air brakes, checking all of the systems, unlocking the brakes, and readying the brakes to retract. Lowering the hood, lifting off, system checks all in working order, the Terani pointed towards the Cliffside, mand off ti went with the roaor of it's engines shaking even the heaviest rocks. And off Ezoba was.

IC Maldrakk

He was dumbstruck.

No wonder Varim handled everything. It seemed the lead Skakdi which has in his eyes before been a calculating and precise leader was either going through rough times... Or these were hidden fires indeed.

"...Yes," He said after a pause which no doubt gave away his confusion on the matter, hoping Ezezko would just think that all Skakdi are idiots. "the prototype vehicle. However, if Mr. Whoever he is thinks himself a more capable pilot with so experimental a machine," he spat as much venom into Ezezko's theoretical face as he could. "perhaps he would like to speak first."

IC: Armani - New Atero

The air was clean and fresh, and Armani had been having a rather calm patrol. It had ended, and she found herself pondering what to do. This brought her to the message board, which in turn brought her to the address promising trial runs on an experimental vehicle. With plenty of experience ramming her ship into things intentionally, she was well-prepared for any accidental crashes that this ship could throw at her. Besides, she liked to have the extra money around for repairs for her ship.

She knocked on the door smartly and waited expectantly. She wondered what the ship looked like as she waited, smiling and nodding at passersby as she did so.

GM IC: The Servant - The Tower, New Atero.

The unidentifiable servant once again emerged from within the tower, peering up at Armani. "What do you want?"

GM IC: Hakkzan - The Tower, New Atero.

"I'm sorry if there's some sort of misunderstanding here," the Ta-Skakdi replied uncertainly, "But you two won't be piloting the new vehicle. You'll be helping us test its combat capabilities."

Hakkzan was a sheltered being, living in ignorance of much that was going on around him, but even he found himself baffled by Maldrakk's apparent sense of self-entitlement. Had he really thought New Atero would be allowing complete strangers off the street control over a brand new, one-of-a-kind prototype vehicle?

IC: Karanta - Exiting Patrol in Fe

After the oh-so-uneventful patrol, Karanta landed back within the hangar. Sure, it wasn't the most exciting patrol, but she had at least had a chance to talk with someone to pass the time.

For a bit, at least.

She removed her jetpack, and placed it back on the rack. "Well," she said, "at least there were no bombers. Even if it was boring." She dusted off the jetpack, and walked out of the hangar. Maybe she could see what else was going on in Fe. Maybe something interesting might be happening. Or she could grab a sandwich from somewhere. That works, too.

"I'm here to assist with testing a new vehicle, friend!" she replied to the being at the door. "Would I be able to sign up? I just finished my shift and I am ready for some exciting testing action!"
